Guedioura. Milijas. Hammill.
Three talented players, yet none have been given a sniff in the league thus far.

The question is simple – why?
A long held suspicion of mine is that Mick McCarthy thinks of this trio as a group of wildcards, loose cannons and mavericks; all capable of brilliance but too untrustworthy to feature on a regular basis.
Understandable in some respects.
Yes, Milijas can be lazy. Yes, Guedioura can overplay. Yes, Hammill is still relatively inexperienced.
All valid arguments.
But, you can’t win the lottery if don’t buy a ticket and I think it’s high time Mick gambled with a few of his random numbers.
The current Wolves team is, in my view, talented but desperately predictable, particularly as an attacking force.
I feel they have to work far too hard to cut teams open and craft clear chances.
The cause of this is midfielders and forwards consistently choosing the safe ball, seemingly petrified to try something a little different.
There’s just too many players happy to turn in that 7/10 performance, doing their job, but nothing more.
It’s percentage football and while it does work at times, when it doesn’t, it’s bloody frustrating.
Even more so, when you look on the bench and see players capable of remedying the situation.
Guedioura
In a 451 he should be a definite starter.
And whilst this is probably controversial, I think he should also be pushing O’Hara for a place in the center of midfield when we play 442.
He doesn’t have the discipline to play the holding position, but is definitely capable of a box-to-box role.
I’m sick of seeing him used a substitute and then crow-barred in on the right side of midfield. Yes, he can play there but that’s not his position.
Two of the best performances I’ve ever seen from a Wolves central midfielder came from the Algerian in home matches against Spurs and Man Utd two years back. We’ve hardly seen him play there since.
Why?
Milijas
I’m baffled as to why this bloke doesn’t play more games.
Whenever he has a spell in the team, it coincides with a decent run of form and it’s happened too often to be a coincidence.
He scores goals, he creates goals and he’s widely acknowledged as our most skilful player.
For my money, you could swap him for Henry and he could sit in-front of a back four, spraying passes around all day. This would immediately change the dynamic of the side.
I don’t underestimate the contribution Karl Henry makes to the side, but his place shouldn’t be exempt from scrutiny. There are definitely alternatives, particularly when we’re chasing a game.
Hammill
With Jarvis and Hunt ahead of him, you could argue Hammill has very little to get snippy about.
But given that he came in and did ever so well last season, before being left out completely towards the end, he’s entitled to wonder what he’s done wrong.
Very little in my book and surely worth more game time than he’s currently getting?
Jarvis was achingly poor against QPR and although he was one of many to put on an improved showing at Anfield, maybe Hammill deserves a chance against Newcastle?
The chances of that happening though are incredibly slim.
In fact, the chances of any of the above three starting on Saturday are pretty remote, with Mick almost certain to revert to the same starting eleven that took 7 points from 9 in our first three fixtures.
And while I’m not complaining about that, I hope, if things don’t work out, he’ll give the mavericks a go.
It’s long overdue.

The best point you make surrounds the undroppable Karl Henry. McCarthy was directly quoted recently stating that nobody was challenging for his place. A great message to send out to bench. Milijas or Foley could both play that role and add more than Henry. Its frankly scandalous that nobody else has been given a try. In fact, when Mick has referred to Milijas he has only done so when considering O’Hara’s place. Those who thought the change in captaincy gave us scope for improvement in the Centre of Midfield sorely disappointed.
Guedioura has been injured for long spells (his first game back after six months out ago was only 2 matches ago), so if I’m honest, I think you’re overhyping his inclusion, especially in a 4-4-2, relevant point in a 4-5-1, but for me Dave Edwards would still be ahead of him. I think a more relevant point was his exclusion before injury, after which Moxey bemoaned having him and a list of other players injured who were never regulars. However, that was before the purchase of O’Hara and so I don’t see him starting in a 4-4-2.
To Hammill, I think you sum it up perfectly. What is most gauling though is how he suddenly found himself behind Kightly. Jarvis for me always starts unless hes having a shocker, and Hunt’s performances give us the extra grit in midfield to compliment Jarvis and O’Hara.
At the end of the day, if you had to pick a 4-4-2 to win a big game would you honestly start any of these 3? I wouldn’t. My midfield 4 would certainly be Jarvis Foley O’Hara Hunt.
Please tell me what O’Hara has done so far this season?
To my mind, he’s part of the problem.
Hes played well in all the home games I’ve seen – Fulham, QPR and Spurs. Against QPR he looked like the only player who could comfortably move forwards with the football. It doesn’t help him playing alongside Henry.
His worst game was Villa away when he was a passenger. When we’re talking about creativity and we’re suggesting dropping our most creative player it really astounds me. I like Milijas, but O’Hara’s impact and performance level has been far greater in a much shorter space of time.
I’m truly shocked to read that some of the support doesn’t recognise the greatness in the footballing of Jamie O’Hara. He is the engine in most of the games and together with Ward he was the man that started our attacks against Liverpool, especially in the second half.
They didn’t amount to much, though, did they?
We still lost.
Right Clive, so the benchmark is that one player needs to carry our team to victory now. Nonsense, even from a prat like you.
Where you interpret that from my comment is beyond me.
I have never criticized O’ Hara on any of my blogs, but the honest truth is he is a bit on the slow side.
If he was brilliant, he would still be at Spurs.
Having said that he has brought a considerable amount to the team, and with the right midfield around him is an integral part of the side.
However, he does NOT have the right midfield around him, and looks to be a bit pedestrian at tne moment. We all know he is cabable of better performances, but with the crap selections and tactics on offer, it is no surprise his game has suffered a bit recently.
With regards to your benchmark comment, ANY player who carries us to victory at the moment will be great, even Ward!
By the way, pratt has 2 tees, you plick.
FOMM
No it doesn’t.
Can I assume this is another American butchering the English language?
Assume away, dude!!
As they say, assume makes an ass out of u and me.
Pratt is spelt with 2 tees.
Remember that England player, when on Japanese tv, David Platt???
I rest my sootcase!
And the English language is not butchered over here, it is bastardized, hung, drawn and quartered!!
I am trying, vainly to do the following:
Reclaim this colony for Her Majesty.
Learn them proper black country loike wot I spake,
and make them relize the futility of American football, baseball and Basketball, all three of which tasks are proving to be hopeless.
When I refer to American football as throwball, they get all defensive and ask me if I watch Sarkker, and Manchester.
Morons, but I love ’em!!
They all agree, however, that McCarthy should go!!
FOMM
Agree completely Clive I’m doing the same above the border too!
This is getting like a broken record now. Yes we were better at dole office on Saturday but still not good enough. Thomas you hit the nail on the head Pre-dict-able and if we can see it you can be damn sure the opposition will have been well briefed.
I don’t see Milijas as a Maverick if anything he is Mr Steady Eddy undoubtedly skilled but prone to a bit of idleness ie the opposite of Ohara who “puts a shift in” and chases around all of which endears him to us all.
But what is his % success pass rate as I counted 7 on Saturday which went way off and this is his problem he gives the ball to the opposition or usually the crowd with the week in week out above the bar attempt at goal. If I hear Commentators/MOD say he leant back again when striking the ball again I’ll cry.
Hammill and Guedioura are mavericks they are have a go in your face loose cannons and over the last 3 or so weeks I have come to the conclusion that is exactly what we need now in a limited way.
So Mick again please please ditch Henry and/or Ohara and start these two just for one week after all you can sub them and put Mr back pass and Mr can’t pass back on at any time. If it ends up half as bad as QPR I’ll put my hands up and and shut up and that’s a promise.
Who knows he may do it after all he finally got the message on Kightly and Big George and that alone mean’t that we wern’t totally outclassed on Saturday!!
You’ll put your hands up and shut up? We’re more likely to see George Osborn revert to ‘Plan B’, simon cowell to marry subo AND man utd get relegated – on the same day!
Whatever u do, don’t do that mate!
Woops, sorry, bit pissed. Read that as Clive from Houston first time round!
My fame is growing!!!
Thank you very much!!!
you’re very welcome
I tell you what is like a broken record ‘fans’ like you whinging about Henry, he was superb Saturday & has been most of the season, apart from QPR, but the manager has rightly held his hands up for that one, personally I’d give OHara a break on Saturday for Milijas, if we are going 442, if not, then bring him in for Edwards, his inclusion Saturday was baffling to say the least, and Hammil should have started over Jarvis, who was yet again v poor 1st half Saturday, though to be fair improved vastly in the second, the one thing I do agree with, is that we now have lots of options in midfield & if players arent performing then others should be given the chance as long as they are fit, which I don’t think Edwards is yet.
Ah.. the classic questioning whether people can be fans if they don’t blindly buy into the Mick McCarthy/E&S propaganda. Henry wasn’t superb, he was strolling for the second goal like he does most of the time. He gives the ball away too much, doesn’t cover enough ground as a holidng midfielder and offers little when he ventures forward. Fans who want better for their team by striving for improvement are a lot better for clubs than those that are content with everything that comes out of “Super Micks” mouth
Strolling for the second goal???
Is that the same 2nd goal where our centre halfs tried to play the offside trap fro about 10 yards inside our half & as the last men had to make up about 10/15 yds on Surez?? That goal???
So, let me get this right, you are trying to blame Henry for that???
As you can see from the above post, I don’t agree with everything that McCarthy does, I suggest you read the post properly & watch the games a little more closely, you might then understand what you are watching.
As I said ‘like a broken record’
Clueless
Amazingly I can watch a game of football and look at the entire picture rather than just see “goal conceded – defence fault”, “goals not scored attack fault”. The fact is Henry is supposed to be our more defensive minded midfielder and we’ve conceded 7 goals in 3 games and when I see him trotting slowly back as a deeply lying player runs onto a cut back to score, I see why. I’m not blaming Henry for everything, but you cannot have a defensive minded player who is as immobile as he is. I’ll stop short of petty insults as, to be honest, I can’t think of anything wittier than “Clueless” so you’ve definitely won that one. Enjoy the Newcastle game, you old charmer
I think Henry was attributed with being the 3rd hardest working player in the PL so far this season. On guardian i think. I dont mean to put words into peoples mouths but I think Grace is being defensive because if MM is guilty of having pet favourites, some fans have pet-scapegoats, blaming the same players for everything that goes wrong. We lose games, inevitably, players make mistakes of course and are allowed bad games, but the frustration comes from the blinded nature of the criticism sometimes. I dont think Henry is a makelele, or even a Joey Barton(!), but he has had a fair start to the season, he’s crucial, undervalued and shouldn’t be made a scapegoat just because he doesn’t get your juices flowing. I know MM has been very stubborn, but two wrongs and all that….
I hope I havn’t got you wrong Grace, and if I have, i’ll agree with your post anyhoo
El Plim
No not at all, I get fed up of the likes of Henry & Ward getting the blame for everything, whether its their fault or not, its wonder they haven’t been blamed for the Eurozone debt crisis!!!
Henry is as honest as the day is long & a decent player to boot, plus he is one of our own, we should be proud to having playing for us, as opposed to some low-life like Barton or a money grabber like Gardner the list goes on, I’m sure Henry is extremley well paid for what he does, but he represents the club with an honesty & integrity that is rare in the modern game & especially in the premier league.
Brilliant post Thomas,Don’t know how you do it, great picture of the
Mavericks.but i fear everything we write or say goes on deaf ears.I vehemently agree with everything you have wrote. The big question is,Is
steve morgan happy whats going on i thought he was a footy man and knew
a bit about football after being involved with liverpool. He can’t be happy
watching what we’er watching, its failure in my eyes nothing but.
What do those players need to do to get a chance in the starting line up
god only knows they all played well against millwall so rightly they should
be given the start over some of the dross that turned up at the QPR walkover…
Thomas,
I’m with you for the most part…
…however, everyone forgets how awful Guedi was last season when given his chance.
I know that he was put on the wing and turned optimism into the realisation that he wasn’t actually that good. Overplaying, getting drawn into the centre, hit and hope shots from distance wasting good possession.
Remember?
Yes he had a good game against Millwall, but really a number of fans are getting carried away raving for his inclusion off the back of that.
Talk to me about Milijas instead of O’Hara right now and I’m listening. Milijas + Fletcher = comfortable in possession in the final third.
Desparate to see a change right now and for me it’s O’Hara and Henry who need to go.
I know what you are saying about Guedi has afair bit of truth in it The Wanderer but we do need someone to lead the charge from mid field rather than just pass it around (badly).
Do you forget that sublime twisting goal last year against WBA and the assistsfor Fletcher in the same game…If it wasn’t for Guedi in that game we may not even be in the Premier League this season,
Fast forward to this year can you see Henry, Hunt or even Jarvis really making that kind of brutal impact, the sort that knocks the stuffing out of opponents, because I just can’t see it in the present line up I’m sorry to say.
Wanderer: When was Guedioura awful exactly? He completely changed the game at Goodison in a 1-1 draw last season and Mick STILL ignored him for Edwards, only to throw him on against Villa when chasing the game with 10 mins left.
If you remember, Sidwell then snapped his leg in two and that was that.
If Mick hadn’t treaten him with such contempt then he probably wouldn’t have broken his leg in the first place (as he wouldn’t be rushing around like a blue arsed fly trying to impress him with 10 mins left)
I’m not saying he’s the answer to all our prayers, but there’s no need to airbrush history to make a point.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Guedioura fan.
My point was that he hasn’t been consistently good enough to be handed a place ahead of O’Hara right now, with whom he is competing in a 4-4-2 formation.
He isn’t a winger, as he demonstrated during a number of appearances in the run in last season.
Similarly, he isn’t a defensive midfielder or holding player like Henry (much as it pains me to say this).
Therefore other than in a 4-5-1 in place of Fletcher (and last Saturday showed how much we need Fletcher and a 4-4-2 formation), where does he play?
Fair point mate. Read my post back and I was being a bit narky, so I’m sorry about that. I’m generally p*ssed off at the mo.
Well I’d have dropped Hunt on Sat and played him wide in a 4-4-2, as I think he is good enough to play there. I remember him doing this brilliantly at the back end of our first season, even scored when beating Sunderland 2-1, playing in that position.
Or, I’d have dropped Fletch and played him in a 4-5-1 where you’re probably right, he’d do better there.
As it stands, you can’t drop Fletcher and Doyle aint offering half of what he did last season, so interesting to see what team he puts out.
This is the beauty of the blog IMO. It all goes back to Thomas’ point – that no player should take their position for granted, yet a few of them do, by virtue of Mick’s pig headedness.
I’d like to see Henry and Hunt getting benched for some games. Henry is important defensively, but he is also shit boring and while he does stop a lot of attacks he also gives the ball away too much and makes unnecessarily hard tackles. Foley og Milijas could fit this role just as well, I’m sure of it. Guedioura might not be the one you want as a defensive central midfielder, but he could share the role with O’Hara pushing the wings further up in sort of a 4-2-2-2.
Hunt is awesome, but his power is the fact that he works hard, not his talent. That’s why I feel like he fits better in against the elite teams and can be spared when playing vs mid-bottom teams. Kightly hasn’t really shined in his brief appearances so why not send him out on a loan in some championship side? Hammill is awesome, and should atleast be the priority backup behind Jarvis if not starting before Hunt.
Hunty works hard, yes, but how the hell can you deny that he got talent? Look at the curbed shot that saved our season against Blackburn and the assist on Saturday exactly on the head of Fletcher. People always say that the ones not playing are better than the ones that does, but that’s just wishful thinking and damned disrespectful to them who are playing well out there. And Hunty is brilliant!
when he has an off day or jarvis has an off day, give Hamill a chance, but agreed
Agree, Hunt adds the X-Factor to the team and is a proven Premier League winger/midfielder.
Jarvis for me has to be more consistent; he’s the one that needs to be dropped in favour of Hammill. However, unless we lose many more games in a row, Jarvis won’t be dropped…
I love how camp Guediora looks in that pic. Haha.
Hammill it seems is yet another player to fall out with Mick. Shame how it always seems to happen with creative players at times when we look quite uncreative and could really do with them.
I’d play Hammill and Guediora on Saturday in a 4-5-1.
Foley-Johnson-Berra-Ward
Henry
Hammill
Sorry that posted half way though.
Hammill-Guediora-O’Hara-Jarvis
Fletcher
Anyone else think Dave Edwards looks a bit camp sometimes? And also, like he wears eye-liner?
Not that there’s anything wrong with that of course, each to his own…
Yep! I do….Same with Guedioura, do you think the young winger, Bia, was his ‘friend’?!
I agree with all of your points, also i would like to say im surprised you have not made the point of dothery playing against liverpool and doing really well, if anything I felt it is an indication that we need to try involve batth/winnall/hemmings/ismail a lot more to show us their potential… i would be willing to do a post on it if you wanted………..
Play the kids, they can’t do any worse!
No one has mentioned the lack of goals, etc from our once record signing Mr Doyle…r.
A spell on the bench might wake him up to the fact that no one, except Wardy and Henry, are dispensible.
Our beloved leader should try a complete change against Newcastle, we’ve got nothing to lose, and maybe it will shake the opposition a bit, the unknown and all that..
What team is he going to put out against Man City in the tea cup?
Will he stick with the players who have scored nine without reply so far, or get the “first team” in, and screw it all up?
FOMM
Oops, that should have read “indispensible”
Freudian slip and all that!!
Dont forget Clive: Liverpool, Arsenal and Juventus are all sniffing around Doyle! Do me a favour – they all want strikers that score goals, or at least have a shot on target!
I think I will start a new chant on Saturday “You only shoot for Republic of Ireland”.
Pull your finger out Doyle, we need some goals from you.
Fletcher is clearly our main striker now – I’ve never been hugely impressed with Doyle to be honest.
Sometimes I think Ebanks-Blake would be a preferable front man, as his strength and power not only allows him to hold the ball up – somthing Mick keeps telling us Doyle does so well. But with the added strength Sylvan can go it alone if needs be. Shame he’s injured.
I thought Doyle was great in his first season and has been average ever since.
We need goals from our strikers – simple.
Flecther no.1 for me too. Not sure MM sees it that way.
I reckon if Doyle is dropped then he’s off next summer. I wonder what his contract says!?
Trouble is stourbridge,we have’nt got any more strikers of his experience.
In McIdiot’s wisdom or lack of it,he decided to get rid of the Hoff before
getting a replacement.f..kin Idiot.
Totally agree we lack any sense of flair at the moment. Adlene may have his critics on here, but I think the guy has something about him. He’s a player where you think something is always likely to happen. At the moment that is just what we need. Would like to see Hammill given more than a token 10mins to make an impact too. If things are happening for Jarvis or Hunt, get him on with at least 30mins to see what he can do.
I think that there have been good points made by those saying the 3 should play a bigger part (and Doherty!). But equally valid points that the 11 we started with are, on paper, our best 11.
So perhaps what we need is a third way. Start the best 11, but be prepared to drop some of the ‘dispensables’ much earlier in a match than the last 10 mins. Give the others a decent chance to prove themselves, and let the first teamers know that they aren’t bullet proof, in one fell swoop.
Hopefully by half time v the toon we’ll be 3-0 up (Bully hat-trick anyone?). But, if we’re not. If we’re losing, or clinging on in a 0-0 draw, drop Henry and O’Hara for Adi and Ned for the restart, and see what they can do!
It’s clearly broke, so needs fixing.
Fantastic article. To me it should be based o form who gets in the team. There is a bias against players who have more flair in our midfield but this is due many times to the quality of the opposition and Micks defensive brain kicking in. I agree that all three players should be given a chance and also foley for henry, based upon performance. For me i would have given Guediora a start at Liverpool (O hara previous game very average), saying that i would pick O Hara for the next game. Milijas a few runs of the bench and Hamill a start next time Hunt or Jarvis have an off game or are injured. Foley in for Henry next time Henry has an off game. Keep the players fighting for places.
The only point i think some people forget is when MM sees who we are playing, we have to have a game plan to cope with the quality of the opposition, because, player for player, the opposition frequently looks very scary on paper! Going Gung Ho with players who do not show defensive duties but have more flair – oh the dilemma.
Great blog – but pointless as our limited manager will stick with his favourites as he has no plan b.
Kightly out of his depth, Edwards back in when not fit, Ward up front against QPR this season all demonstrate he can not see the wood for the trees.
Norwich win again last night – what should have been an easier season as a Wolves fan is already starting to look like a relegation battle. Lets hope Blackburn keep Keane as manager and Swansea continue to play attractive football!
Yeah, Norwich won again playing a class and style of football i’d be more than happy with at the mol. All done on a low budget with players from lower divisions, not to mention Wolves rejects. Not possible at our place though for some reason. Any ideas why?
Oh and a full house for a televised game by the look of it. Obviously no pubs in Norwich.
Or maybe just the one club in Norfolk and their nearest rivals about 30 miles away?
And a city with about half the population of Wolverhampton and a whole county about a third of the west midlands. Anyway, i don’t think Norwich have the overall fan base of Wolves and it gives me no pleasure observing a vibrant full house for a televised game for them compared with a very quiet, far from full Molineux on Saturday. Moxey’s blaming the pubs and clubs and i’m saying he needs to look closer at home, at the product and maybe the prices too.
Plan B: Revert to Plan A….
I still can’t see what it is that makes Henry so indispensible. I think that he’s far and away the weakest first team player we have. Johnson, Berra and Ward look good at the back generally, Stearman needs some work.
Just shove any of the three mentioned above in his place and see what happens, at least for the first half.
You need some one who can win the ball in midfield, which leaves Henry or maybe Foley. Still feel we should have signed a good tackiling combative midfielder before the window closed, to make henry second choice for that position. Hes a good squad player.
Agree fully with the blog, and there is no reason why one of these three could not be included in our starting eleven.
They all offer something different with flair, not on MM`s prescription unfortunatley. We do need 3 players in midfield, so Henry can sit in front of the back four, and let the flair players take over, even if this means playing with one winger. I don`t think you can play Miljas and o`Hara together, but Hammill has the pace and trickery, while Guidiera has the unpredictability to shake things up a bit.
Who knows if we can get to half time not losing 2-0 then one of these mavericks may do it for us on Saturday. Pity one of them can`t play left back.
One of my favourite sayings is…
“A definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result”
We need something fresh. Whether it is one of the afore mentioned that come into the team or whether its more of a tinkering – I don’t know.
We’re in a position where we can try something. Soon we could be in a situation where we do something different out of desperation.
“We need something fresh.”
Agreed McCarthy OUT
Moxey OUT
That should freshen things up nicely!
Martin O’Neil in – that sounds nice and fresh to me!
I’ll drink to that,no i’ll get drunk to that.
MM said young Bennet was released because he`d never play in our first team. Bought by Norwich for £1m perhaps and playing in the premiership and who are after only 6 games are higher placed than us.
He has genuine pace to burn and apart from a small sell on fee we received, another academy graduate cockup by MM.
martin o`neil or mark hughes, or my wife`s sister, someone with a brain please.
Martin,Mark,or even Glen H……………. whoops only joking
still think David moyes would come he’s pissed off at Everton.
But not the wife? Shall we take that to mean that the poor lady is without brain? There’s a joke there but I’m not saying it……
How about this for a straw poll or even a blog maybe? If you woke up tomorrow morning to the news that Mick McCarthy had resigned, would you feel
a) Suicidal
b) Well pissed off
c) Not happy
d) Indifferent
e) Quietly pleased
f) Well chuffed

I’ll take a G please Martin.
I wanted McNumpty sacked last season and he’s done nothing to change my mind after some pathetic displays in this latest survival campaign. How any fan can advocate our ineffective, impotent style of play is completely beyond me.
f or g until morgan brings his mate Paul Jewell in!
I would just like to give my thoughts on Maradona’s son, Tevez.
That short arsed, overpaid, over rated little prick is getting 200,000.00 per week, and refuses to go on as a substitute.
if there were any justice in the world, he should have his contract annulled, and made to pay back every penny he has been paid since his move to City, then banned from football for life.
The arrogance of that motherfucker beggars belief.
I hope some of the more nefarious City fans find where he lives and sort him out.
I don’t care what your opinion of City is, nobody should treat them and the game of football in general, like that.
Hope he breaks both his legs, and in the same accident, his ugly mug, and is never able to play for anyone again.
That little shit is a disgrace to football.
Thoughts/comments?
Surely Tevez’s refusal to play is a breach of contract and gross misconduct? On that basis alone, if he should be sacked and sent packing back to South America.
Just one thought Clive. Why don’t you say what you really feel for a change instead of sitting on the bleeding fence all the time.
Actually, i’m playing golf today and am hoping to avoid a Tevez if possible. That is, a very nasty little five footer.
Should have sacked him when he went on Argentinian chat shows slagging off everything Mancunian. Obviously underpaid. Drop him in a field on the falklands with all the other inhabitants i say. He might even pull.
To teach him a lesson I think Man City should send him out on a fully financed loan to Wolves.
McCarthy would probably still put Big G at left back and play “Superman” up front if we got an injury!
Why don’t we play James Spray?
Doherty should be given a run at right back too.
If you read what other managers say of top 6 clubs they all speak about using a squad.
I know we are not plating European football, but if, week in, week out, we play the same ‘settled’ team we will be torn apart. As others have said ‘pre-dict-able’.
To me, MM does not have the ‘nonce’/know how’ to taken in the concept of playing, with a ‘squad’.
I think a ‘clever’ manager such as ‘Ferguson’, would have changed the team against Spurs to 4-5-1, just to confuse ‘Arry a bit, who knew Mick would not change his team!
G for me Martin.
I’d like to see Gus Poyet as manager.
PLaying not ‘plating’ sorry!

Can’t say I’m particularly pleased about this.
Maybe now he can concentrate on getting a shot on target more than once every three games!
I hope it helps him regain his form from his first season with us.
Always been a doyler fan but this season he’s frustrated me a bit with the lack of shots on goal,he also tends have his arse facing the goal instead of
another part of his anatomy, that said still glad we have him signed up another 4 years.
