After downing Chelsea at Molineux and escaping Doncaster with a draw, Wolves head to Eastlands this weekend looking for another positive result against high-flying Man City.
On paper, our away record remains abysmal. We’ve lost 8 out of 10 games on the road and although I believe our performances have merited a greater return, the hard facts show we’ve been poor. It’s just as well our home form has improved or we’d be completely cut-adrift at the bottom.

By contrast, City have identical home and away figures, with six wins, two draws and two defeats on both sides of the stats. Of course, one of those two away defeats came at Molineux. Wolves were excellent that day and deserved to win the game. We can but dream of a repeat performance.
Tellingly, Mancini’s boys have enjoyed a fine run of form since that unexpected setback and have put themselves firmly in contention for the title. They boast the best defensive record in the league and with players like Tevez, Johnson and Silva at their disposal, they’re not short of options going forward either.
So it’s a big ask for Wolves to get anything from this one and team selection will be all important. Elokobi’s suspended for three games as we know, so Ward is almost certain to deputise. With SEB also ruled out with a hamstring injury, it seems likely we’ll continue with Doyle and Fletcher up top. Here’s what I reckon the XI will tramadol pain treatment be:
Hennessy
Zubar
Berra
Stearman
Ward
Hunt
Foley
Edwards
Jarvis
Doyle
Fletcher
Personally, I’d revert to 4-5-1, drop Fletcher and bring a third midfielder (Milijas) into the side. Whilst the 4-4-2 served us well against Chelsea, we had a real joy against City earlier in the season by getting wide players into advanced positions. Jarvis in particular was a thorn in their side all afternoon.
Whatever Mick does we should be bolstered by the return of Karl Henry and Jody Craddock. Both players featured in a reserve game this week, so I’d expect both to be named amongst the substitutes on Saturday. Our squad remains threadbare so we need them back as cover.
Prediction League
Congrats go to Super Kev Doyle and Jon Sidwell for picking up 3 points last time out. Both correctly predicted a bold 1-0 win over Chelsea and it paid off big time. Super Kev deserves a special mention as he also got the result spot on at Anfield. What a double!
Jub, Sleachy and Rich all added a point to their respective totals by getting the outcome right but without the score.
This weekend I’m going for the draw. Obviously it’s a tough fixture, but we’ve shown all season that if we set our stall out and don’t give away silly goals, we can give anyone a game.
Surely we’ll string back-to-back results together again at some point this season and it would by typical of Wolves to achieve that on the most unlikely of weekends. 1-1.
If you’re heading to Eastlands, have a great time and get right behind the lads.
Up The Wolves.

one one. Milijas
Dunno what to make of this one!! I fear we’ll get sliced if we dont play 4-5-1 but wont have any firepower without 4-4-2. hope we go 4-5-1 though and see one of milijas’ 80 ft crackers or see edwards score another goal against them!
forgot to add my prediction…. 2-1 wolves!
Cheeky way to get 2 comments up.
or an honest mistake 🙂
Baolotelli is out injured, does anyone know if Silva is fit again? Silva has been in awesome form for them and is the sort of player our centre backs really struggle to deal with. Hopefully Dzeko will need this game to acclimatise to the EPL, if not the wonderfully talented Christophe Berra could be in for a long afternoon
Going for 1-1. (Fletcher)
It’d be fantastic if we could anything from this game, and I reckon that beating Chelsea and having a couple of key players back from injury could give us enough of a boost to get a point. I’m going for 0-0
Groundhog day, late in the home match v Man City, I recall Johnson sublimely went past Ward (who else) like he wasn`t there and put over a cross from the byline that was blasted over the bar from 10 yards out, for me the one standout miss of the game.
Its a David v Goliath match, but if we defend like we did against Chelsea, frustrate them, get lucky who knows. We need points, so i`m hoping for another 1-0 win. If only because my City fan brother in law is going to the game, and I want to call his mobile when he is driving home, and ask him what the final score was!
Man City 2:0 Wolves
Given the news on our likely signings this January, I don’t hold out much hope…
Leigh Griffiths – (who? You might ask – well exactly!) yet again we pick over the bones of a club in administration like a vulture!
£500,000 Barnsley winger Adam Hammill! Wow, give me that kind of signing over the likes of Birmingham City trying to sign David Bentley on loan!
MM has today ‘endorsed’ his squad as better than the cream of the Championship! Excellent news that Mick given the fact we are actually a Premier League team. Maybe if we looked outside the Championship for new signings we could become an ‘established premier league team’. The way we are going I fear we will get the chance to see if the squad are better then the rest of the Championship next season!
Man City 2-1 Wolves, sadly …
And thanks to the Manc bar-stewards for loaning Wayne Bridge out to one of our chief relegation rivals. I mean, salt in the wound, it’s not like *we* need a decent left-back, is it?!
Too right – and we were necer at the races.
Taff and MM too busy scouting lower league dross!
Apparently not, judging by the paper tonight. Yikes! 1-1 Doyle
Kowloon Wolf, I’m also in HK and usually watch the matches over in Wanchai at Blue Goose, PM me if ever you fancy hooking up for a game.
Thanks for the invite Jason. Do they run the audio/commentary in Blue Goose also?
It’s not as convenient as I’d like to get to HK Island on a Saturday night (despite my handle here, I now live in Tung Chung), and having paid HK$80 per month extra to get the games in Hi Def, I might be asked questions by the wife as to why I’m disappearing in Wanchai on Saturday night when I can get a better picture at home!
That said, the next home match (Liverpool) is an early kick-off, so I’ll plead with the missus and see if I can get a pass out.
Wolves 2-1, fletch and foley
3-0 man City all scored in the first 20 minutes from Adam Johnson crosses from our left side, after he is allowed time and space by our era-defining left back.
He’s up to the job of replacing Big G according to the E&S today! And we are not going to sign a left back in January either!
Great news all round then really!
Apparently there is no one in the Championship who is better than what we’ve got – so here’s one for you thick Mick, Why not look in the Premiership because the majority of the players there are better than what we’ve got!
Too right Jed. What about looking abroad too? Oh, dont bother – nearly every time we do that we end up buying sh*t!
Another young ROI player anyone?
I hate to be negative after the win against Chelsea, but we are screaming out for a decent left back who has pace and a centre half who doesn’t need to foul everyone or who can concentrate on their game for 90 mins without touching their hair!
God yes!
That Milijas, I mean what kind of idiot buys a player who can split a defence with a single pass or can shoot from distance. Or even a powerful right back who can defend and attack well?
MADNESS!
Big John De Wolf. Nice to see you’re still following our lads hehe.
Firstly, I was gonna agree with Jed and Stourbridge Wolf as I was reading their comments, then I completely agreed with De Wolf.
Firstly, Milijas is a class operator in the middle of the park. I remember Colin Kazim Richards on Soccer AM saying how for Turkey he’d played against Serbia and had lost and he said, “Serbia has this player called Milijas who we couldn’t get near to, he just ran the show”. I think we are finally starting to see what he is capable of now. Zubar for me can be a bit clumsy in defense at times(in our box) but is immense going forward and defending in the right back position. I think he is a typical Arsenal style player with pace, agression and skill. So yes, these two signings for me are of the highest order. But they need other players around them to rise to their full potential. Doyle, Jarvis and Hunt can do it in the Premier League(of the outfield players) but we need to buy in new players of the same ilk and we’re not going to find them at financially struggling clubs in Scotland or the English lower divisions. It pains me to see the Blues landing David Bentley or other teams who should be below the Wolves buying in decent, established talent at this level. I am surprised that the 3 Ms are not doing everything in their power to get Robbie Keane back in until the end of the season. He is just the talisman we need to keep us safe. If only for his experience at the highest level and his legendary status at the Wolves that would excite the fans as well as the players around him.
Now this is where I contradict myself. I believe that if Wolves can stay up and the 3 Musqueteers contine their plan for the future and it continues to work, I can see us all being very proud of a Wolves team who plays at a cathedral of a stadium and whose fans are entertained by young, British players who have been scouted from all British leagues and mature to make Wolves an example of a good British team that doesn’t need to bring in talent from other parts of the world to be competing at the very highest level. It may be a utopia but could Wolves become what the Premier League and British football is crying out for? A team whose policy is to mature young, British talent who then go on to represent the home nations in competing hopefully for World Cups etc. Spain recently and France before them were good examples of countries that have churned out class players by the bucket load. If our boys can stay there this season and continue to find/produce Kightlys, Jarvis’ and Ishmaels I do believe we’ll be in for special times again at the Molineux. I for one would prefer that than having 1 or 2 years of perceived success in the top half of the table and then the following years after that getting relegated again like so many teams before us.
Wolves I believe are going in the right direction but it takes time to grow a club while at the same time keeping it financially stable. We have seen in so many clubs in recent times where 1 or 2 so called top-class signings have really rocked the boat financially and ended the club pretty much in ruin. Although I would like to see us falling over ourselves to get in top names right now, I am pleased that we have 3 leaders who keep the calm and won’t be held to ransom by players or agents. Sidwell being a very good example. He wanted a permanent deal. The 3 Ms were not prepared to offer that permanent deal for a player who pretty much hasn’t played football for the last 2 years. So they told him to be on his way and keep looking for a club who was willing to take that financial risk. With the growth of the stadium will come more funds and better opportunities to draft in higher quality I’m sure. Fingers crossed!
I’m glad you agreed with me.
The system we have in place is at times, extremely frustrating as we see clubs like Birmingham sign or try to get big names players. However, in the long term this is the right way and we are on of the few stable clubs in the league.
You only have to look at Portsmouth and Hull from last season to see what happens the years after spending big. Birmingham are in trouble already without spending very much, and I think they are going down.
To be completely honest, I don’t mind if we do not sign anyone. The squad as it is is capable of staying up, and even finishing clear of the relegation zone.
The three Ms are in it for the long term, and I think that is how it should be.
My point De Wolf (great hat-trick at Vale by the way!) is not about Milijas, it’s about are inept left back and McCarthy’s reluctance to reinforce that specific area. I feel sick for Milijas that he has to play along side dross like Stephen Ward – I bet he’s embarrassed!
Unfortunately you did not make your point very well. You said not to bother buying from abroad, so you have just contradicted yourself.
Nenad Milijas is someone who has world class ability, and is starting to adapt to the pace of the Premier League. I believe he would slot into any of the top fours teams and not look out of place.
I doubt he feels embarrassed to play next to Ward, because Ward is not a bad player and I expect his team mates are grateful to have someone like him in the squad. No, he is not the most talented and is not a very good defender but he is very underrated by Wolves fans. Saying that, he is also overrated by Mick McCarthy (proved by they way he keeps him on the pitch).
Where’s the contradiction?
I believe I read your post wrong. When you said our reluctance to invest in that specific area, I thought you meant players abroad. Did you mean at left back? Which I don’t neccesarily agree with.
Ok De Wolf lets take Milijas – played a handful of games last season and now seems to be coming good at long last. Do you blame him for being poor last season (as I saw him have a number of pedestrian games before being dropped for Jones) or do you blame Mick for not playing him?
What about The Hoff, Pussy Van Damme, Bia and all the other failed foreign players we have wasted money on over the years. To be fair not even just Muppet Mick, other managers too – why oh why are we unable to buy decent foreign players? One reason – cr@p scouting! Look at Wigan as an example, when Bruce was there they signed a number of unknown foreigners that have come good. If a sh*t club like that can attract the likes of nzogbia, rodallega et al why do we end up with rubbish 9 times out of 10?
De Wolf – just read you comment on Ward. I wonder… Do you actually go to any of the games?
Ward is the worst left back in the league, as his contribution has ditrectly cost us points this season (not his fault as he was signed as a striker).
Stourbridge – Fans are just too impatient unfortunately, it takes time to adapt to the pace of the Premier League.
In my opinion the Hoff was a panic buy because Iwelumo was injured and Vokes wa only young.
Did you not see Mujangi Bia at Pompey, in the half we played he was superb and a real threat. We have excellent scouts, and have found so many good players over the years (not just foreign) but you demand the earth because some fans seem to have an idea that we should be a top half team instantly. Maybe because this is a big club with a huge history but you have to work to get there. and slowly that is what Mick McCarthy is doing.
about ward. Fans are desperate to have someone to have a go at when things are wrong. I notice the clive from Houston does it, as does Ben. If he is our worst player, then we have a good squad. Of course we could find better left backs but you name some for us to get. It’s hard and when you are a club recently promoted it is very hard.
I’m going for a 2-1 loss for Wolves. Maybe we’ll get an early goal but ultimately lose after a tightly fought battle.
Ward or Stearman to give away a penalty and get sent off, just to give City a fighting chance.
Good afternoon Jed. I and probably 100% of fellow bloggers on this site, and wolves supporters overall agree with and share your frustration on both points.
McCarthy despite his length of tenure doesn`t seem able to find a No 5 suitable for premiership purpose, and his shoehorning of Ward into left back has had even more serious consequences in terms of goals conceeded. This is MM`s achilees heel, and I hope it doesn`t cost us our place in the premier league.
Unfortunately Mark, with no replacement for the left back position imminent, I fear it will. Look at every team we’ve played and where they target – it’s always our left side. This shows that all the other Prem managers see how bad our left back is, yet Mick doesn’t or he does but is too loyal / stubborn to change it.
I’m with you Jed too. We signed JVD in the summer as we needed a left back – to say we do not need to replace this farse of a signing now is just sticking your head in the sand.
I would prefer the club to come out and be honest and tell us that we dont have a pot to p*ss in this summer.
It has been obvious that certain teams have targeted our left side when they have turned up at the Molineux. If it wasnt for the work rate of Jarvis (tracking back) earlier in the season we would have even less points on the board.
Anyone who thinks Big G is the answer – needs to take a look at the rest of the league. He has improved but is still not a first choice prem left back.
I have to differ my opinion with one point you make there Stourbridge.
This:
“If it wasnt for the work rate of Jarvis (tracking back) earlier in the season we would have even less points on the board.”
….is a common misconception.
In fact, the opposite is true.
Whilst Ward was certainly culpable for many of the goals we conceded earlier in the season, he was often left woefully exposed having to deal with two players down his flank.
Jarvis for some inexplicable reason was playing tucked inside down the left, rather than as an orthodox wide-midfielder.
By contrast, in the early games, where JVD and Ward played together down the left, we actually looked reasonably solid because both worked up and down the flank and stuck to their guns.
Don’t get me wrong, Ward has irritated me significantly with his backing off and ball-watching, but we shouldn’t just pile everything onto him and falsely praise other players for covering his arse.
He’s not my favourite player but there’s no doubt in my mind he’s far too often scapegoated.
Thomas – its all about opinion and I disagree!!!! Shouldn’t you should be able to rely on your left back to defend properly anyway? Especially if Jarvis is your main attacking threat?
Also, if JVD had stayed and played regularly – where would you have put Jarvis if not on the left (as he has been our best player this season when played in this position)? The introduction of Hunt on the left has demonstrated that Jarvis is far less effective on the right (inexplicable to me?)
I cant remember thae game now but seem to remember watching JVD watch a player run straight past him before Ward gave away a stupid penalty in one game. I think even MM gave him a b*llocking for it.
Also why of why was JVD never played at left back apart from a friendly at Leeds? No wonder he wanted out if all he had to do was cover Ward’s arse week in week out. As I have said in a number of posts – I dont blame Ward for his short comings – I blame the manager for picking him in every position available except goal keeper.
You’re right, it is all about opinion.
To answer your points.
Yes, your left back should be able to defend and Ward isn’t up to the job. I agree with you on that. I never disputed this fact.
My point was that you suggested Jarvis provided a heroic level of cover for Ward and for me that patently wasn’t the case. It was the opposite.
But my criticism isn’t of Jarvis, it’s of the manager for tucking him inside on the left and not playing him as an orthodox left-midfielder/winger. I agree, Jarvis should play down the left, it is his best position, but he should have to get up and down. That’s the duty of every wide player.
I also agree that JVD should have been given a shot at left-back. It was ridiculous that he wasn’t. Still, fuck him. If he doesn’t want to play for the Wolves, give me Stephen Ward every day of the week.
I’m plotting a blog post about Ward and I have a feeling it could well be the first to get 100 responses.
And I’ll probably write at least 50 of them!
Yeh f*ck JVD – shame tho, as I reckon he was about as good as we were ever going to get.
I’m totally fed up with the Wolves at the moment. The total lack of ambition in the January transfer window just gets on my tits. Still think we are going down.
You sound like one of those people that would rather be winning every week in the championship. If you are fed up with competing in the Premier League, with a good hardowrking young squad and playing decent football then I feel sorry for you.
The big difference in the City team will be Son of Madonna, Tevez.
Him, Johnson and Silva will fillet our defence to shreds with pace, vision and awareness, all of which we lack, except at left back!!!
We are going to get creamed big time.
City 4 Us 0
If my prediction be right, please let it be the final coffin in MM’s nail polish, or something like that!!
FOMM
I know it isn’t exactly scientific but I just asked The Guardian’s Scottish football guy what he thought of Leigh Griffiths – the -year-old striker we look set to sign for 150k from Dundee. He said this:
“great potential. Quick and scores all types of goal. With the right coaching (and discipline!!)could do v well. Big step up tho.”
I’ll take that.
20-year-old that was meant to say. Journalist is Ewan Murray.
Not THE Ewan Murray? The silkiest sounding voice on the golf course since Peter Alliss? If so, I think there should be another zero at the end of Griffiths’ fee!!! Buy buy buy!
Taking the mrs along for her first away game, she has been told it will be her last if there isn’t a positive outcome!!! 1-0 Wanderers!!!!
Is that a subtle example of short term loss – long term gain Rob?! She’ll be blissfully unaware that Man City are actually rather good and spend a lot of cash (being a woman and all that), we lose as is expected, and you can blame it all on her, before enjoying yourself with the lads for the forseeable without the ‘jinx’ being alongside you?
I like your style mate!!
Exactly mate, I’ve been hiding behind the season ticket as a reason to deny her access to home games and the away season ticket for away games. Paul is taking kayleigh though and arranged tickets. On the plus side she watched all the Liverpool game while we were away and that proved lucky!!!! U back to full fitness and up for an away day soon?
Mate, I’m well up for the away days after Donny! Went with Paul and Disco Dale Dingle and had a top day.
I’m getting back to full fitness now. I can bend my knee fully, so taking a squat on the pan has never been so pleasurable. It’s amazing what you miss when it’s snatched away from you!
Are you coming for the Donny sequel? I am hoping the 3 of us are off again, as we made a pact. As for away grounds, please let me know when / where you’re off and I’ll come along with a pack of Wolves Blog business cards!!
I think the next one will be the Emirates, Dale is supposed to be sorting the tickets! I will be there for the Donny sequel, have to meet up for a beer, its been far too long!!!
2-0 to Man City.
I have only done one or two of these predictions but I’ll try and play catch up and go 1-1.
ok I’m going to get my prediction in nice and early unlike my one for chelsea…..
3:1 city, I think city are starting to hit some form though I hope I’m wrong – especially as I have a city supporting housemate!
I agree to an extent with Mr De Wolf, in that we should not be looking to sign big names for big wages who will do a runner if times get tough.
What we are crying out for, and have been for ages, is a manager who can see what he has got, and play the right players in the right places.
His blind loyalty to Ward, who as we all know and have stated over and over and over, is just not good enough, and needs to be got rid of.
There are others who are also at the very limits of their capabilities, such as Foley, Berra, Craddock and Jones, who need to be replaced, but not quite as desperately as Ward.
We need to blood some of the young guns, with a manager who sees their potential, and can motivate the correct way, not through fear.
Where is a Wolves Wenger or Ferguson?????
And I have no time for the fat controller.
His only vision for the future is himself with lots of our money, he has no earthly interest in the long term success for Wolves, only greasball slimebag Moxey.
He is a fucking parasite of the worst order, and should be banned from the Mol for life.
FOMM, SW, JM and WBA
That’s easy to say Clive – but can you give us some names of these young players that will slot into the team and help keep us up?
I’ll give one – Zele Ismail – one of the best young players in the world and not good enough to ever get a game for our first team? The numpty would rather play edwards out of position then give him (or Adlene earlier in the season) a chance. You are right about blind loyalty to players – rather than the best player in particular positions (I prefer square pegs for square holes rather than just sticking Ward or Edwards in any position going).
If we at least signed a couple of big names it would give us all a lift – I just dont think MM is capable of/has the kudos to sign such players.
Fair question.
Unfortunately I’m stuck over on this side of the pond, and am lucky to see prem games, so no chance of seeing Wolves second stream, so I aint really got a clue who we have on the books.
However, surely anyone is better than Ward?
I’ve heard of this Ismail from other sources, and from all accounts he is bril, so lets give him a game.
People over here can’t understand the “if he’s good enough, he’s old enough” policy in football, they think everyone has to go to college and be “educated” (ha) and get drafted, and all that bollocks.
Let’s be bold, and if we go down, we go down fighting, not just putting in a shift.
FOMM
Man City 3 Wolves 0
and
Dazza 1 Brisbane River 0 🙂
Do you want us to send you some food parcels mate? I can rustle together a peperami and a Ginsters brunch bar?
According to MM, our prospective new signing from Dundee won’t be any use to us this season but he’s hoping he’ll turn out to be a BARGAIN in the long term. That’s ok then. Personally, i think Morgan’s already had the bargain of the century when he was given this great club for £10. Surely our finances allow something better than this? Meanwhile the LB problem looks like staying unresolved and i can’t see us not conceding down that flank tomorrow so it’s 3-0 to City for me i’m afraid, Dzeko having a field day. On a different point, i hear Burnley are taking Eddie Howe from Bournemouth as their new manager. Best young manager in the country in my book and the sort of exciting and imaginative appointment i’d love to have seen at Wolves.
Hi Martin, I wonder when you would have loved this exciting appointment of Eddie Howe?
Surely not before we made the mistake of giving McCarthy the job and having to painfully watch him march us up to the premier league and keep us there?
Surely not now?! Personally I cant think of a man less equipped to manage a premier league side. He has done a great job in getting Bmouth of of division two but they are his home team and the level of expectation would have been extremely low when he took the job. I will be interested to see how he get on at Burnley. Good luck to him.
I think we should be carefull what we yearn for. I wonder if Charlton fans regret giving Curbs a bit of stick when they were mid-table in the prem? Or if villa fans regret slagging off O’Neill when they were sixth?
The grass isnt always greener.
And a very good day to you thrornedog. I absolutely agree that the grass isn’t always greener but equally, just by definition, it sometimes is. I wonder if Bolton fans regret replacing Megson with Coyle or Tottenham fans wish they’d never heard of Harry Redknapp and were still in danger of relegation instead of playing in the champions league. I too admire McCarthy’s achievements in getting us into the Premiership and, ultimately, doing a decent job in keeping us there last year. And if you have seen earlier blogs of mine you will know i have been generally supportive in the past. This season is different. With the money he’s had to spend and with the wonderful support the team gets home and away, i don’t think we should be rooted one point off the bottom of the league. I think our club can and deserve to do better. Yes, be careful what we yearn for but, equally, let’s not settle for second best.
Fair point about Eddie Howe and i agree it’s probably too soon for him. It will indeed be interesting to see how he does though. Meanwhile i will look at McCarthy’s team selections (and probably results), and at Stephen Ward manfully defending our left flank and i think i may still yearn for something better.
I just hope that the other results go for us and we don’t get Tevezed.
Positive stuff eh?
Alas, Citeh 2 – Wolves 0.
2-0 loss I’m afraid.
Cardiff and Norwich are now keen on signing Portsmouth midfielder Michael Brown according to Skysports news.
This is the level of ambition we are showing this transfer window – on a par with championship teams!
Blouse have had a 6 million bid for Robbie Keane accepted and we sign a kid from Scotland for 150k – we are seriously lacking ambition – AGAIN!
Interesting piece on the official sanitized Wolves web site, with McCowardly bleating on about no one is talking about him losing his job, and how confident he is about staying up, but if we do go down we are stuck with him and the present set of players etc etc etc.
Reading between the lines, which is often more fun than the actual words, I get the feeling he is begging not to get fired.
Ha
i fear the worst tomorrow playing the best attacking side in the prem and got wardy back at left back and anyone can guess what MM is gonna do with carl and jody back reckon 7 2 1 with wardy in a free role.but? maybe we will get the luck off the irish we got enough of em
Can’t see us getting anything from this one. Another gutsy effort no doubt, but Man City 1-0 Wolves
And how terrible is it that Blues are adding Bentley and Keane to Hleb? Why? They are no bigger or in a better postion than us? I hate it. I hate to see us linked with Michael Brown and signing youngsters for the future who will probably never play for the first team.
The way Mick’s being talking, he doesn’t want to sign anyone worthy of getting in the first team. There’s loyalty and going too far
Are you watching, McFuckin Carthy, are you fuckin’ watching St Andrews???
Where is the money we got back for Van Damme?
Put it with the money we had allocated for Sidwell and you’ve got yourself a proven Prem striker, and a Wolves fan to boot, but it’s too much like thinking, isn’t it, you bird brain.
And, he’s Irish, what more could you ask for?
I fucking despair of finding a single, solitary grain of footballing sense in that head.
FOMM
To be fair Clive, Keane’s claimed to be a childhood supporter of virtually every club he’s signed for hasn’t he? It would still be very nice to actually get someone with a bit of class though. I’ve been supporting Wolves as long as you and i’m starting to find the period under this regime the most frustrating in those 50 long years. We’ve got the set up, we’ve got the money, we’ve got the nucleus of a young energetic squad, the perfect position to kick on and improve but we are treading water, possibly going backwards. McCarthy should be developing and improving the squad but it seems he can’t see beyond the players he’s already got. It’s almost like he doesn’t want anyone whose going to keep his boys out of the team. The official line is that he’s here to stay long term whatever happens, including relegation. With all the stadium plans etc riding on it, this is possibly the most crucial period in Wolves history and if we look back in future years on a huge wasted oppurtunity what would be the verdict? That McCarthy stayed loyal to his players at the huge expense of the club and supporters.
Dzeko starts! Lets hope he has a Balotelli!
Dzecko did have a Balotelli. It’s just a shame that Tevez had a Tevez!
Well battled against the millionaires though!
And Ward had a Ward 😉
