En route to Manchester, conversation turned to our first Wolves games.
Most of my company’s gold and black odyssey started in the heady days of Derek Dougan, Kenny Hibbitt et al.

My own? A dreary home defeat to Coventry City in 2004.
From whichever generation you hail, we’ve all had our fair share of highs and lows following the Wanderers.
Which makes days like today all the sweeter.
What a performance, what a result.
You’d have got decent odds on us being the first side to stop City scoring at the Etihad in 2019.
But, thanks to Nuno’s meticulous game-plan, that’s exactly what we did.
Of course, any scheme needs able practitioners and every single player put in a monumental shift to get us over the line.
Rui Patricio was a titan in goal, repelling every effort the home side could muster.
The defence was colossal, despite Saiss’ early withdrawal.
Our midfield covered every blade of grass, so often a thankless task against City’s band of technicians.
And up front, Raul and Cutrone were a constant menace.
The former was especially excellent, no more so than when he was paired with our match-winner early in the second half.
It seems as if the mystery of Adama has finally been solved.
Headless chicken? Quite the contrary.
We have a bonafide match-winner on our hands in the form of the buccaneering Spaniard.
Today was his finest moment in a Wolves shirt, taking both goals with aplomb.
When the ball hit the back of the net for a second time, you’d have been forgiven for thinking you’d died and gone to heaven.
It was the sort of moment we all dream about as fans, and one we’ll talk about on the way to many more away days.

EASY EASY EASY EASY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BRILLIANT WOLVES
Brilliant one for the memory box x
YES, YES, FEKING YES.
What an amazing result ….what were they saying ?
Bubble b
urst , second season syndrome ? These knobheads don’t know shit from clay
C’mon you mightylWolves
Now I know why our pot plants stink of sh@@e…
Hi Twixie as you said mate positive thinking.
Wolves Aye We
…Shit from clay ….. brilliant.
Boom, boom
Oh hold on a minute,,, only 25 percent possession!
That’s just not good enough
( sorry Barry, couldn’t resist)
Top half of prem already
Utw
Like I said, I’ll take a win with only 25% possession any day of the week.
But, after 79mins, who really thought we were in with a chance of winning? I guess most of us, if we’re honest, were hoping we’d hang on for the draw.
I see you predicted 2-2 but were expecting a loss?
And, while we’re taking cheap shots . . . . . we’re 11th (actually 12th while it’s 0-0 at Newcastle), not top half !
I still dream us going to the Etihad as favourites and then play them off the pitch.
I love Traore and I’m chuffed his whole game is coming together. And two goals!!
Singing and dancing here!!!!
I really hope we continue to improve and make the Top 6 even if I believe we’re still some way behind.
Before I’m accused of contradicting myself, my opening line there should read:
I’ll take a win with only 25% possession, OVER A LOSS, any day of the week.
We are currently 11th in the table now Newcastle are winning.
Not looking like a good day in Manchester perhaps the glory hunters will all be supporting Salford City now?
Hey Barry, sorry if you thought I was taking a cheap shot mate , that certainly wasn’t the case , just a little joke , I was just a bit pumped, and very slightly tipsy
Great game, great result
Utw
Traore has finally come of age this season. He’s getting better and better. Brave move by Nuno to start with Traore and Vinagra as wing backs but it paid off. Well done boys!!
It’s started already, quotes from the newspapers:-
City below Kilter.
An off day.
Under par city.
Grass too long.
Ball too round .
Near.y rained.
Well let’s tell you you rubbish pundits, we won, we defended like spartans, we had a 4 hour flight on Frida,,so shut the flock up, wind your claws in and give credit where credits due.
Well done Nuno, tictacs spot on, well done boys, executed the plan with style.
Onwards and upwards.
You forgot:
Wrong kick off time
Away fans too noisy
Home fans absolute shite
I’m going to use an expletive for the third time in three posts.
ABSOFUCKINGLOOOTLYMAGNIFICENT!!!!!!!!!!
Gonna run round Gornal wi me fuckin Wolves underpants on me yed. Fuckin Wolves Ay We!
So, a normal Sunday afternoon, eh??
Next door will definitely know that it’s not a normal Sunday, such was the noise. Your predicted 5-1 would have been nice Clive, but we’ll take the 3 clean sheets in a row. Bollocks to Manchester.
R
Wow! Wow! Wow!
So pleased for Traore.
Amazing result. What a great week it’s been! Adama is turning into a class player thanks to Nunos mentoring. Well done to players and staff.
Maybe I’ll wear my new Wolves coat to the grocery store.
Not really that surprising. I didn’t say they would win but it doesn’t surprise me that we didn’t let a lot of goals in. We just do well against Man City recently.
You should be sleeping in the thing Tim.
Needless to say – I am made up that I am a terrible predictor of footie scores. I still think you would have had to be brave to have predicted a win from this game. Those that did deserve double points.
But I’m going to predict a 4-0 loss for every game from now on and enjoy the feeling of being so very wrong every week.
Absolutely brilliant result. — and well deserved. A magnificent team display. Organization, unity, belief and total commitment to the cause. Thank you guys.
Boly, Coady and Bennett. As good a defensive unit as any in the Premiership. They fully understand each other and combine to provide a seemingly impenetrable barrier in front of Rui. City could have played until midnight and they would not have broken down this unit.
Can someone please answer the following question:
Were there any City fans at the Etihad today?
All I could hear was the 3000 strong twelfth man singing their collective hearts out.
The turning point for me was Saiss going off, and our defence reverting to it’s best trio, in their best positions.
And an absolute tactical master stroke, putting Doherty on and pushing Traore inside.
That has got to be our best performance since regaining our rightful premiership place.
And I was so pleased that the extremely biased U.S. commentators had their sycophantic tripe stuffed back down their throats.
Fantastic result, and I bet all the “experts” will say we parked the bus, blah, blah, blah.
We should have been out of sight by half time.
Poor old City, thinking they had to just turn up and we would roll over.
Fuck off!
Even Sterling couldn’t get in the box to do his customary diving swan impressions.
Best place for that cheating little shit is on top of a Christmas tree.
Cloud Nine don’t come close to where I am this afternoon!!
Absolutely spot on. Nuno if you want to be stubborn regarding your liking for Saiss, then play him in midfield where he belongs. Just don`t keep messing with the central unit of Boly, Coady and Bennett. Yet again today, they were superb, both individually and as a unit.
They don’t call it the emptyad for nothing
Thanks for the updates and the fleeting video call so I could see the game on your TV. I’m sure I brought us luck as almost immediately you cut me off we scored!
OODCL
You is welcome, but you need a fuckin’ shave you scruffy git.
Hey Houston. Nice to see another fan from the States. Are you originally from the Wolverhampton area?
Yes
Born in New Cross Hospital
Raised in Penn
Where are you and where are you from?
I’m in Boston and I’m from Connecticut. I have no connection to Wolverhampton other than I adopted them as my team in 2017-18 season (last one in the Championship).
I’d been trying to choose an EPL team for a bit…doesn’t work for me unless it’s organic. Then, Wolves stole Neves (my parents are from Portugal) and I started following. Fell in love. Add Moutinho to the mix – the most professional, consistent, pleasant player I can think of, and I’m hooked.
Welcome to the Blog.
You will find that we are a diverse, opinionated bunch, but we all have that common old gold and black thread connecting us.
Enjoy and join in with the banter.
Oh, and take everything Lord Twix says with a pinch of salt!!
One thing I try to project. I love Wolves. But, I’m a new, faraway fan with no connection to the area. I just fell in love.
I defer to everyone else here in terms of homegrown passion and, especially, knowledge of their history (still a bit behind on that one).
I just want to join this fan base, root for the team, watch anytime I can (I’ve found a way to watch almost all of the 18-20 games this season) and give an occasional opinion/comment based on what I see. You guys are the true fans and I want to absorb what I can.
Wolves Ay We
(See how awkward that was coming from me?)
Before long yo be over here aytin gray paes an baircun. And gooin once upon a time there was a tavern. Welcome to the blog chap
The first master stroke was the playing of Traore and Vinagre as full backs. I believe this was done purely to nullify the speed of Sterling and Mahrez with our own speed merchants. Who has kept Sterling that quiet ever? A number of occasions he tried to go past Traore, who put on the after burners and got back goal side of Sterling again. Mahrez had no impact whatsoever andwas taken off after an hour.
Yes, it was another master stroke pushing Traore up top with 20 minutes to go.
Also big round of applause for the 3 midfielders who quickly covered for one of the centre backs if they pushed out. It was like clockwork, so seamless.
The central defenders especially Boly (again) were tremendous, the return of the 3 amigos, assuming Bennett now keeps his place, which he should
Raul and Crotone ran their socks off defending from the front and causing Otomendi all sorts of problems. I wonder what a fit Jota would have done to that defence. 2 assists from Raul whose run was brilliant to set up the first goal. Every one a Titan, not least Nuno who is finally coming to terms with having to rotate his (small) squad and formation to cope with the demands of European football, rather than hisestablished same team each game.
Thanks for the 28/1, Ladbrokes! Like I said yesterday absolutely ridiculous odds for a 2 horse race. Talking about horses, also had Waldgeist at 20/1 for the Arc but, like a complete baggies fan, I didn’t have the double. Just a tenner would have netted six grand. Oh well, can’t win them all.
What superb finishes from Adama, what timely perfection the passes from Raul were and what a man mountain big Willy is. Superb. How brilliant of Nuno also to tell the lads to deliberately miss all those first half chances as he didn’t want to score too early.
From someone who predicted a 5-0 thrashing…I hang my head in shame. But lift it up again with pure delight with the result. WOLVES, the team that keeps on giving
Mildenhall wolf… we all make mistakes… but the sign of a man (or woman .. for the purpose of political correctness) is to acknowledge truth and fact.
We won .. they lost .. so bollox to em …!!
Absolutely wonderful caption …
Thanks Lord Twix, you might enjoy this caption, but then again, you might not.
Jesus H Christ……. I’ll go to hell for that….. But i don’t mind I’d go to hell and back for Wolves…. ……. Amazing seen line up i was worried i cant help it I’m one of life’s worriers but no more…. .Well I’ll try….. What can i say…… Amazing………I’m on my knees bowing to Nuno and the boys and the 12th man. Proud don’t begin to describe how i feel…….!
thank whatever lord you worship .
that has shut those crowing bloody villa fans up good and proper.
we beat the champions of the prem on their own turf …fair and square.
bragging rights to wolves 100%
rock on !!!!
Just listened to Rednap Sourness, and that prick Neville .. not once did they say wolves did well just that city were damaged and below parr and then they went on to say what an amazing result it was today when Newcastle beat United
Fucking pricks the lot of them
Agree 100%. Not heard Guardiola praise us either – he just says they played badly and had injuries. They are all so biased towards and obsessed by the so-called Big 6 that even though it is patently obvious that many of those six are damaged they cannot see it.
One thing that annoys me is people talking of a “free hit” when talking of the likes of Man City, in other words we are expected to lose. No way, respect yes , capitulation ? Stuff that, I’ll be travelling to the Etihad expecting a result.
A paragraph from my post on Sept 29th Obviously Nuno and the lads agree with my sentiment. Ooooooooooooooo ‘dama Traore.
Inspired substitutions by Nuno for two games in a row, to bring the Doc on and move Trore to run at them through the middle worked a treat, what a finish to the game. Absolute magic!!
Shame it’s so tough to even get a sniff of an away ticket as that must be one of the occasions of this or any season beating Citeh in their pomp! Bet Noel Gallagher’s singing, you’re my f***kin Wonderwall about the Wolves back three!
Superb win and a lesson if ever any fan needed one of thinking they can pick a better 11 than NUNO! I saw Traore and Vinagre at wing back and thought Oh NO! I’ve also convinced myself Traore can’t play Wing Back!
But as Adama says he now trains and plays in three positions, he must be at the training ground a lot, that’s all I can say.
Saw his finishes today on You Tube and they were absolutely priceless. Jiminez’s role in the 2 goals and the through ball to Cutrone in the first half looked top drawer as well.
Such a great feeling that! Well done Nuno and Wolves could we ever doubt you? And even better that we topped the Villains 5-1 win and the Baggies top of the Championship. Just great Wolves, looking forward to MOD tonight.
Well here’s something you don’t see every day…
Guardsola said: “We lost to a good team that were really well organised, good physicality, strong in the air and so fast on the counter-attack.”
Gory, Gory Man United..
https://mobile.twitter.com/stuartalves1/status/1180937895504470016
From the BBC website
“This was the day when City’s injury problems finally caught up with them”
You silly people, thinking we had won, pretty obvious isn’t it?
We didn’t win, City lost… Oh, hang on we did win and er, they lost.
All the media are crying and lamenting that poor old City are ravaged by injuries and some upstarts dared to beat them.
We didn’t play well, it was City playing poorly.
Glad we are all clear on that.
Never, ever give up..
Good job we were knackered after Turkey on Thursday and didn’t have time to plan a proper job on them otherwise it might have been the Watford result in reverse.
Let’s hope Shearer is on Match of the Day 2 and tells it like it is. He usually does.
Spot on with the Shearer prediction, he loved us!
Not sure what channel but saw Michael Owen giving us lavish praise as well
We’ll lose 4-0 I said. What the hell do I know? #gladtolooklikeanumpty
“…every single player put in a monumental shift to get us over the line.”
This statement is the reason I love this team. To me, it starts with Moutinho’s work-rate being contagious to the younger players. A selfless player who rarely gets the highest plaudits (though, wolves fans seem to really appreciate him) and is the picture of consistency.
Oh….and, that back three today.
Awesome away day. We thought instanbul was great but beating City at their own turf is hard to beat. My standout moment was when Traore scored the 2nd goal. It dispelled the doubters and those who said he was a total waste of money when Nuno and his team believed in him. Well done Traore.
We have been let loose. Our tenacity is back, our energy is back and now Adama ably assisted by Raul have tore into a team like we know they can.
We always play well against teams that play, they should give us more respect, really they should.
This is a high point for sure but I’ve seen Nuno’s post match and I can tell you our focus will not shift one bit. He is a steely no bullshit manager. We will continue to work hard and we will continue to reap the rewards. Great times.
Just like our own doubting Thomas here, I did not believe. But now that I have seen the glory, perhaps nothing is impossible!
This one was for Marin Wolf. Out of the darkness, stay strong.
Well said!
Having predicted a 0 – 5 defeat I have consumed my share of Humble Pie but made sure there was plenty left for the Traore knockers, Unbelievable result.
Thank you Diane
The boys for sure dedicated this magnificent win to you
OODCL
Thank you Witley and .. Dallas and for everyone else’s responses to my pre-match post .. I cried
What an amazing group this is
Find strength in the pack mate.
Oh my … never saw your pre match post . So sorry for your loss . All our love to you and your family at such a terrible time
This group is obsessed, quite often blinkered, mostly self opinionated and at times just downright bloody annoying (and that’s just me)…
But you’re right mate.
They are amazing.
And special.
I agree wholeheartedly with your first sentence!!!
Have you got Dangerous inflated yet?
All will be revealed in due course!
Hadn’t seen the pre-match post. Sorry
We are one pack Marin and we’re all here for you. Stay strong.
I too missed your post. I am so sorry for your tragic loss. Sending you much love and positive thoughts from all Bedford Wolves. X
did anyone notice what a titan Rui was ? back three great, yes, Raul and Adama scintillating, but without those cat like leaps……………..
Yes Ben R – he is a buccaneering Spaniard – a wonderful description. Raw pace will worry anyone – especially those that play a high line. Must be one of the best results in our history and the margin could have been much wider. Pep looked shell shocked in his after match interview which is understandable as I had to keep pinching myself. Bruised but ecstatic.
Like you Thomas, my first game watching Wolves was against Coventry.
A dull draw which was somewhat brightened by a quite skillful, leggy, pale chap called… What was it?… Knowles, or something like that.
Whatever happened to him?
Since then, other heroes have come and gone, and our beloved club has been through some glorious, but mostly traumatic ,times.
Now, like the old legend of King Arthur, a sleeping giant, ‘The Once and Future King’, is stirring and girding his loins to conquer anew.
And the King and his Knights certainly did the business against the heathen hordes yesterday.
Every man will be remembered for what happened at The Etihad on that day.
They were all heroes.
But, even if he does no more in his future Wolves career, one man in particular has carved his name into the Annals of Wolves heroes we have known and loved over the ages.
Arise Sir Adama!
Sir Adama still a work in progress. Now Dave Wagstaffe that was a winger.
I should have said “Like you BEN, my first game….”
Sorry about that mate.
I had the pleasure of a fantastic view of the whole game as l managed to pick up a ticket in the home section near the half way line in the east Stand.
It was a great noise coming from the away end, very quiet in the rest of the stadium!
A few comments on the game
1. This type of game is perfect for our team. Sitting deep defending resolutely and hitting on the counter attack. No side in the Prem. does it better.
2. It is difficult to pick out outstanding players from a brilliant team performance but l will anyway. Adama obviously, he has been magnificent this season. Not just his 2 well taken goals but he is consistently beating his man and getting crosses in. His defensive game is also improving. Boly was fantastic, his game has everything. Great in the air, pace, calm on the ball, good range of passing and timing of his tackling. Also Rui who has always been a great shot stopper but his kicking game has also improved.
The other players were merely excellent!
3. Nuno got his team and substitutions spot on. Moving Adama up front effectively won the game. To be able to play 2 positions so effectively is a major asset to the team. What a player we have.
I was able to get across close to our fans near at the final whistle and witness some amazing celebrations. I didn’t do that well posing as a Man City fan when talking about City. Unfortunately l referred to City as ‘they’ rather than ‘we’!
I have some great experiences following Wolves for many years but l am not sure anything tops seeing us beat the Champions in their own backyard!!
“Brilliant to watch”
This is a report from Alan Shearer, (a real footballer), brought a tear to my eye, because this is my team he is talking about.
https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/alan-shearer-wolves-man-city-17042732
Many at the start of the season said it was going to be difficult to compete in Europe and the prem, especially with Nuno stoically believing in a small squad. I agreed with that. What I didn’t agree with was that it was too soon to be a part of European football.
I think this most recent of victories highlights why. If by some miracle and with great disgust Watford had of taken our qualifying chance, we could quite easily of had another season challenging every game with the tried and tested line-up. But then what happens with the likes of Adama, Cutrone, Gibbs-White? Forced to make do with cameo appearances off the bench, how could they fit in to the first team long term.
Evolving the players, coaching and philosophy along the way is better in my opinion than sticking with the tried and tested. Point in case, step forward Adama. Giving him more game time in a congested fixture schedule and having a clearer vision on how to use his abilities has been brilliant to watch so far this season. Plus the coaching is clearly working. It’s gone from “oh my he’s coming off the bench to some how save the game” to playing a full 90 minutes in multiple positions and being a match winner. It won’t always be like that, but I’m already enjoying this season more than the last, even though our final league standing is unclear.
Long may the evolution continue.
On a separate note, I’m sure millions of Liverpool fans cheered us on yesterday. They play the best football in the league and deserve top spot.
It is however not their right to win every game. To be an opposing team, absorbing a massive amount of pressure, only to be booed and whistled when you get a tiny piece of possession is not on. I heard it against Leicester when they deservedly drew level. And of course we were booed through the entire second half in our last game of the season.
It sounds like a large number of people at the games, and I think it’s disrespectful. The team is good enough to win without it. Have spoken to many people, and sounds like they are losing a lot of neutral fans because of it.
Rant over, Man City 0 Wolverhampton Wanderers 2….. Heaven.
I must confess I didn’t watch the game, nor did I listen to it! But I was at the next best place, Molineux, going to pick up Tipton who was at Sir Jacks for a meal. When the 1st went in I was by the Billy Wright statue & I yelled so loud people walking past asked what the matter was & then cheered with me! To finish off the perfect 2 goal win I got to see the inside of the Mol, all team areas, finishing with walking up the tunnel & sitting in the Wolves dug out.
Amazing!! I still have the grin on my face!!
Brilliant Day!!
I’ve just watched the whole game.
Bloody hell, we were magnificent in the first half and, apart from the finishing (we should have been at least 2 up at half time) I don’t think I’ve seen them play better.
Where have they been hiding that form so far this season?
Second half I think we were a little fortunate not to concede but what the hell, they are supposed to be the most potent attack in the league and we didn’t.
Let’s face it, this time last season, Traore (God bless him!) would have put those two chances into Row Z but he really has turned a corner. Hopefully that performance will give him the confidence to get loads more goals this season.
As for Rui Patricio? As a stopper, he really is one of the best I’ve seen in goal for Wolves in 60 years. How he manages to combine professional football with presenting Strictly It Takes Two and Supermarket Sweep is beyond me ;0)
The similar chance he had away at West Ham (very close to this time last season)certainly didn’t go into row Z!
It was the beginning of September I think, Sea Pigeon.
I thought he’d turned the corner with that goal, too. Unfortunately he hadn’t.
I say this a a BIG fan of the man and I really want him to realise his potential.
This is news to me. Patricio is presenting on tv shows? I need to move to where this happens.
Quick aside: trying to get my wife and daughter into Wolves and, unfortunately, my horseback riding kin could only comment on the looks of the players. In case you’re wondering, (in no particular order) the best looking players on the team would seem to be:
Rui
Neves
Moutinho
Jimenez
My daughter also commented on Vinagre and Neto – but I think those were strategic comments – given that she’s their age….looking for a sugar daddy (thinks I have a connection?)
No prizes for guessing what these people are celebrating.
As the woman in ‘When Harry met Sally’ said in the famous New York Deli scene:-
“I’ll have what she’s having”.
The goal keeper must have soiled his pants when he saw Traore coming towards him at full bolt for the second time
Well done again, the travelling supporters, what a special day out for you guys
What a team
I guessed we’d lose three nil having not bet on us to lose before; I’m notoriously inaccurate in projected scores and have now learned to bet on us losing each game. As said before, I got fed up of hearing how poor Citeh were and how the loss of De Bruyne was affecting them; Ugh! we were missing Diogo! City also had two extra days to recover. Tears in the eyes, not for the first time this season, when the second goal went in. It was incredible that we could play that well after the trek to Turkey but a couple of days before! Love this team!
My MOTM was Traore but others were outstanding. What a special player Traore is becoming. I hesitate to name anyone faster and stronger in world football. With his newly refined accuracy he could be unstoppable. Full credit to Nuno for finding a rough diamond and polishing it so brilliantly. The way Jimenez linked up with him was devastating to City. Lucky City though: in my view Fernandinho should have been red carded. Or yellow card and a penalty. He nudged Jimenez in the back when he was one-on-one with the keeper. Only the top two teams would get away with that. Yet nothing said on Match of the Day.
It wasn’t much of a nudge, to be honest, Dances and I think we’d have been in uproar if something like that had been given against us. He should probably have squared it to Cutrone when he had the chance. Who cares anyway as he certainly made up for it with those two sublime passes to Traore.
More likely to be given against us than against City!
Happily, Jimenez has found a replacement for Jota in Traore. I was gutted that Jota couldn’t play. But the evolving Jimenez-Traore understanding is every bit as as lethal as Jimenez-Jota.
International break is coming just at the right time for our tired legs and injured bodies. Not that anyone is showing that on the pitch!
In Nuno we trust! Fantastic result. Onward and upward we go!
Picture the scene. I’ve been waiting in the ferry queue at Dieppe and listening to a crackling feed of the match on 5live.
Two minutes to full time and the motorcycles start heading aboard. Then, almost on fulltime, the first stream of cars are called on. 5minutes of injury time. C’mon, c’mon ref, blow up.
Then, three minutes left, we’re still one up and I get called aboard. I drive up the ramp and into the bowels of the ship and the blessed sound crackles, fades and dies.
Tormented, I was. Tormented. 14 hours before I finally found out that not only had we not conceded an equalizer, we had gone on to score another.
Torment. Torture. But worth it for the ecstacy when the result came over the airwaves the next morning.
Not one to blow my own trumpet, but that’s two correct scores in the prediction league in a row. Psychic Steve they call me. God, we’ll be calling Nuno after this little showing.
me too Wolfstroker, well done us !
That’s why you’re known as ‘old and wise’ Old and Wise.
Jamie Redknapp’s team of the week.
Just the three Wolves players in then.
Better than Garth Crookes Doog. He only had Traore despite us being the first team to ever beat Pep at The Etihad without conceding.
Touching on Fernandinho’s alleged lean on Jiminez am I alone in getting fed up with so called clever fouls. Or cheating as it used to be known.
Though not alone Man City have taken it to a new level.Despite having 76% possession they had five yellow cards.I would like to see a crackdown on this spoiling. Pep would like us to believe he is a champion of skilful football. If so he needs to stop his teams behaving this way.
Read an article about these fouls yesterday. Don’t remember where. Basically suggested a “sin bin”…like the penalty box in the NHL.
Am I the only one who keeps hoping for a Cutrone goal? The guy works his ass off. I think his confidence may have taken a hit from his last Milan season (plus them giving up on him).
I want his effort rewarded. Wolves fans are great about recognizing great performances that aren’t reflected in the scoresheet (see Moutinho, João)…in fact, I think EPL fans in general are better about that than fans of American sports.
Cutrone is currently about as accurate as Traore was a while back. Nuno will work his magic and the goals will come for Cutrone. I thought he looked a bit short on confidence yesterday. Obviously still settling in, but he will come good, very good.
Nonsense. He had a few on goal that were saved by great reflex saves. I’m sure he is a little gun shy after that but he put a lot on target earlier this season.
My wife commented that I seem like I’m in a really good mood. To boot:
1) I have a pile of work that I’m not sure I can complete
2) I have a presentation tomorrow in front of ~40 people. All of whom will be trying to poke holes in my presentation (not a fan of public speaking)
3) my daughter at college just broke up with her boyfriend (I want to kill the bloke – Sorry, trying to sound British)
4) Wolves beat Man City in Manchester…
I guess that was a powerful win
Don’t worry Lou, I’ve got the answers:-
1) Sod the work, Wolves beat Man City in Manchester.
2) 40 people, but they all look the same when they’re sat on the John. And Wolves beat Man City in Manchester.
3) There are plenty more fish in the sea. He was never good enough for your daughter anyway (did he support Wolves? No, didn’t think so). And Wolves beat Man City in Manchester.
4) Wolves beat Man City in Manchester. But you knew that anyway.
Made me loff on the BBC site comments after the game. Think this one came from a Liverpool fan. “Adama Traore is a real magician. He made 40000 City fans disappear” !
What’s the connection between Billy Graham and Adama Traore?
They can both get 40,000 people to scream ” Jesus Christ”
Loff ay it.

Thinking of flying out for a game. Any of you know how hard it is to get you? Either just one for me – or, me and my 14 year old son. Looking at the 2/8 Leicester game? But, I could make any game work
Singapore Airlines out of Houston to Manchester is the airline I use, but you will probably get a good deal out of Boston or Newark to Birmingham.
Getting match tickets will be difficult.
Suggest you wait for responses from the bloggers on here, someone will have more idea than me…..obviously!!
If you plan for one of the midweek games you stand a great chance of tickets, people can’t always make them due to work commitments.
Just read an article stating “Neves should be sold in January because he’s off the mark”
Well, you bloody article, just take a look at this piece of brilliance performed at close quarter. Feckin Pundits and experts, really do my crust.
But, then again I’m quite bias’d I love the bloke.

Absolutely agree mate.. it had bend, deftness, coolness, and at the game changing moment ….class
So all you doom mongers…. piss off and go and annoy somebody else….
That’s no way to talk to Clive!!
More to the point (or impeller).
Have you blown up your duck…..
After all … with Xmas on the horizon he/she will need some tinsel and mince pies….
Entirely agree Stu – it had already struck me that a golfer would have taken quite a time to line up a chip like it, RN had to pull it off immediately, what a pass, what a goal.
Agree also about media reaction, most of them still haven’t twigged just how things are.
Recent article by Neville Southall is an example as he reviews Prem GKs – needless to say RP was down with the three out of five star rated with some comments that suggested NS hadn’t actually seen much of him in action.
So the ban on Bratislava is upheld……but around 4,000 local accompanied kids will be allowed in to support them.
How in God’s name is this fair???
It’ll be just like playing the veeella!
I always say that Moutinho should be an automatic starter for Portugal.
Of course, now that I think a rest would be good for him, he’s starting.
Good stuff Lou. Good to see you are already turning in to an incredulous Wolves fan like the rest of us on here. Wolves ay we mate!
As much as I applaud Gareth Southgate’s youth policy and what he is trying to achieve
Last night’s game was a wake up call, I hope. Defence was a mess no organisation, no one taking control, midfield no existent. As much as I admire Harry Kane’s goal scoring
skills, why make him Captain ! It has always been my experience successful Captains would always play in Midfield on Defence keeping the team ticking over.
An obvious choice wouldn’t be that far away?
C C perhaps!
Just watched football focus. Not 1 bloody word about our famous win at man city. Instead a 10 minute discussion about the woe at manure and spurs. You couldn’t mek it up. BBC bastards.
Loving it!!
Keeps our blokes, like Connor and Big Willy under the radar, stalking the next Prem prey, and ready to pounce like the pack of hungry Wolves we are ( ay we ) on the next unsuspecting victim.
Bollocks to all the pundits, except Shearer, what do they know?
And why all the bitching and hand wringing and woe is me’s about Manure?
Top six they definitely aint, bottom three beckons!
Come Christmas, we will be in the top six, then someone might wake up and realize the old order is changing.
Brendan’s doing a good job at Leicester, the Ammers are doing ok, Mauritchio has lost the plot at Tottingham, Lampard’s burst will bubble, and Dr. Nuno is slowly, slowly doing the creepy creepy up the table shuffle!!
Boring weekend with no footie to watch, and I include that crap from last night.
Seems kind of karma ish that since they went all out and paid monopoly money for donkey mcguire, Manure are shit!!
Loving it!
Very happy to see Cyrille Regis inducted to the National Football Museum’s Hall of Fame.
A Baggie he might have been but he was a fine footballer and a lovely man.
Yeah he was a Baggie but for a short while he was a Wolf too. Don’t matter though. He was a true legend whatever. God rest his soul.
Just watched Japan beat Scotland in one of THE great games of rugby.
Superb stuff!
You can tell it’s getting boring between matches. So here we go. WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A WBA FAN AND A VIBRATOR? ..,…….. A WBA FAN IS A REAL DICK.
Q, What’s the difference between A WBA fan and a bag of shite.
A, The bag
You’re trapped in a room with a Lion, Cobra snake and a West Bromwich Fan. You have a gun with two bullets. What should you do?
Shoot the WBrom fan………twice!
It’s career day in primary school where each student talks about what their dad does. Little Johnny is last, and finally the teacher calls on him to talk about his dad. Johnny comes to the front of the class. ‘My daddy is a dancer at a gay bar. He takes off his clothes for other men, and if they pay him enough money, he goes into the alley and performs sexual acts on them.’ The teacher is shocked, and she calls for an early recess for the rest of the class. She sits down with Johnny and asks him if this is really true about his dad. Johnny says; ‘No, but I was too embarrassed to say he plays for West Brom!
Disgusting scenes in Bulgaria. Fuckin 2019 and this sort of shit still goes on. Fuckin disgraceful and Cyrille Regis just received a glowing endorsement. Never let the Nazi bastards back in.
As Bulgaria is part of the EU that lot can come here any time they like which is one of the reasons i voted to leave ….
You get a sneaky feeling the authorities over there secretly condone that behaviour .
Where were the police to arrest them and bash them over the bonce like they do to our idiots when they get pissed ?
Having worked in Bulgaria for 12 years, I also voted to leave due to the many corrupt officials throughout the regime.
I was asked by the British Ambassador, to assist in getting a young coloured child to the UK for burns treatment. Parents at his school had put a tyre over his body and set fire to him because he was black.
Also the Mayor of Sofia and the now president of Bulgaria, offered to throw all the children of an orphanage into the streets to provide me with a building to start a cancer hospice.
Corruption is rife through Eastern Europe and they regard life very cheaply.
I’m delighted to say, “Wolves released 200 tickets for Bratislava with 47 of those automatically going to the folk that went to Armenia if they want them”
Mr & Mrs Lowves and I managed to get one of the 150+ left, and Jen de Wolf has a very slim chance of one at 10 am tomorrow.
Life is good…
One happy bunny
Go for it Stuey ……
the four of you have gold and black running through those veins of yours.
You all deserve a medal…. certainly recognition of your passion for Wolves fc.
According to the Times Wolves Boxing day fixture moved to 27th! If true I for one am unhappy
I hole hart edd lee agree!
Boxing Day footie has been a tradition even longer than Stuwolf has been around, and must be preserved at all costs, like jam.
Getting stir crazy, need my Wolves fix.
Roll on Saturday.
That’s two of us HW….
My daughter’s coming over from NZ and the knock on is to put the Liverpool away game back too…. that’s hotels well screwed up…
They say don’t book hotels etc but travelling from NZ … come on ….
… “oh I think I’ll ‘pop’ over to the uk for the weekend”…..
Sorry but this stuff stinks …. Amazon can go shove prime where the sun don’t shine….!!!
It’s about 44/45 hours between man city home and Liverpool away. Not even 2 days. As usual no consideration for the fans. Let’s all become plastic and sit at home in the warm watching it on telly and the players can slug it out in front of 50000 empty seats. Doesn’t quite have the same appeal for the dosh laden TV companies does it ? But they know if 20000 boycott it there will be 20000 more who will take the place. That’s the ‘product’ for you. Stuff your product. Wolves FC is a way of life for generations of us. I guess the only way to protest is not to go. But I couldn’t do it. I just couldn’t.
