Logic dictates Man City will win on Sunday rendering the result of this game irrelevant.
But logic it would seem, has long since left town.
If you’re looking for a paddy power promo code to use on this game to pump up your stake look no further.

The herculean efforts of Liverpool and Spurs are a timely reminder that incredible things happen in these season-defining moments.
Maybe Brighton will do the unthinkable? Or City will throw it away?
Whatever is playing out down south though, you’d be a fool to think the result at Anfield is a foregone conclusion.
Liverpool are the only team in the top six Wolves haven’t shaken down for Premier League points and their scalp – particularly in such a high profile game – would round off the season in style.
This could be pure theatre and it’s a pleasure to be involved.
Bring. It. On.
Liverpool
Over the two legs, they were deserving winners against Barcelona. They should never have been three goals down in the first place so justice was ultimately served.
The desire, the spirit and the relentless running of everyone in a red shirt really cancelled out anything the Spanish giants had to offer and it was a pleasure to see Suarez depart with tail firmly between legs.

The atmosphere – like the comeback – was awe-inspiring. You could feel the crowd right on top of the players throughout. It’s going to be the same again on Sunday, particularly if they smell blood in the water.
Mo Salah will likely return to the side, assuming the rules around concussion clear him to do so, but others were hobbling around on Tuesday night.
Andy Robertson came off at half time and could be a doubt for Sunday. He’s been a star performer this season and would be a big miss if he’s out for the two finals they will now contest.
Unsurprisingly, their home form is terrifying with 16 wins from 18 matches in the league and zero defeats. Only Man City and Leicester have left Anfield with anything.

The home end
Some views lifted from the match thread on the Red & White Kop forum.
Nowt against Wolves, they’re having a boss season, but facing us… now? After last night? Let’s tear em to shreds
Just about getting the win this against the third ‘team of the season’. What a year they’ve had and it’s gonna be tough. Just get the win reds and hope for a minor miracle in Brighton.
Wolves have been impressive and they’ll want to get something out of the match, but our players are full of confidence and Anfield is once more a fortress. Regardless of what happens in the City-Brighton match, we need to focus on ourselves and get the three points.
I know a couple of Wolves fans and make no mistake they are up for this big time – they want Liverpool’s scalp, they’re a hugely ambitious club. One thing we’ll need in abundance against these is energy, hopefully we have plenty left in the tank after Tuesday night’s game.
Wolves
I’m not sure what’s left to say about this team other than I hope we can retain it for another season. Improving it would be grand, but this squad over 38 games could do even better next time.

Will Nuno give anyone a charitable run-out? I wouldn’t have thought so given the importance of the fixture.
There was talk of Norris getting a start but if that was the case, why would he have come on for the last 3 seconds of the Fulham game?
I was disappointed in the changes made to the side at Sunderland in our final game last season, which prevented us cresting the 100 point marker. That team deserved the gravitas of a 100 point campaign.
We were still getting our act together properly back in December when Liverpool beat us at Molineux, so it would be great to see our established XI pushing them all the way.
The poll
[interaction id=”5cd48e7ce66725ff38f5151a”]Predictions
Nail biting stuff on the final game week of the Prediction League with Wolvo Dave and Teddy Eley locked on 45 points. Good luck to both of you.
Well done to Adrian, Paulcooksleftpeg and StuWolf who all took a maximum for correctly forecasting 1-0 against Fulham.
I also want to give special mention to last season’s Prediction League winner The Witley Wanderer, who was great company prior to last week’s game and not shy in reminding me of his past success.
I say this every year but I want to send something to the winners of the PL past and present and that will definitely happen over the summer, so look out for my email chaps.
Thanks again to everyone for taking part this season and adding to these previews with great comments, it’s always a lot of fun.
As always, if you want to join in simply leave your prediction in the comment section below, which is where you’ll find my best guess.
Up The Wolves!

Thanks Thomas, Ben, Rasmin and all other contributors for a magnificent Blog through the year. It makes us foreign supporter feel part of the fabric of our great club.
Would love to receive something as a past Prediction Winner (x2) thanks Thomas! – has anyone else won it twice?
This week – a rampant Liverpool with everything to play for versus a relaxed Wolves who can’ t be shaken from 7th spot. I think we will have the Kop on edge for quite a while before Liverpool close it out…
I know man, I’ve been crap. Email me your address and I will pay the piper once I’ve thought of something befitting a two-time champion.
Not taking into account the fact they’re playing Wolves on Sunday, I’d prefer to see Liverpool win the league, but I don’t think they will.
I didn’t give them a hope in hell against Barca either though, so what do I know?
Just keep it tight early doors lads and weather what’s likely to be one hell of a storm. We can hurt them on the break.
Really looking forward to this and hope we make it competitive.
I’m backing us to spoil the party. Jota to break hearts.
VIRGIL VAN DIJK MY PLAYER OF THE SEASON AND WOLVES MY TEAM OF THE SEASON= A DRAW.
MY HEAD SAYS LIVERPOOL.
MY HEART SAYS WOLVES.
Hi MIldenhall,
Well this is the last one and so I’m going full on optimistic for once.
It’s true that this time last season our team let the travelling Wolves fans down big time at Sunderland. With nothing left to play for except 100 points they just didn’t turn up.
This time around we are assured of 7th place and nothing more. We can’t finish any higher and we can’t slip any lower either.
We should. however, be aware of our responsibilities to the rest of our league and give our utmost in our final game.
Therefore I’m hoping that we will do just that and, assuming that we do, I’m going for us to upset the applecart and sneak a 2-1 win.
Hope you have a good summer PeteRobbo. I don’t know about you, but I will be wishing the weeks away until the start of next season. COYW
Same to you mate. Yep, I wonder what or who the summer will bring to Molineux……
I’ve never won the prediction league, so don’t worry about getting me anything.
I am so torn about the outcome on Saturday. I would absolutely love to get points from Anfield, but I’d also much rather Liverpool win the league than City. Hopefully City beat Brighton and we don’t have to feel guilty for spanking the scousers.
I’m nowhere near as confident as I was before the Arsenal game, Liverpool are actually a good side, but we are amongst the best in the league at defending, and if Jota and Jimenez get the rub of the green they will cause damage at the other end.
Whatever happens, it’s been such a marvellous season to experience, I’ve waited my whole life for this and I am savouring every moment of it. Huge thanks to Thomas and the lads for all their wonderful work over the season, and also to all of you out there who contribute to this fantastic site.
UTW
Liverpool were brilliant in mid week and if they play to their best will beat us. However I think city will go a couple of goals up early on and it will deflate them. 2-1 wolves to round off a magnificent season
Great post Thomas, great to meet you and yours last Saturday, sorry I was a little pissed, had a fantastic day.
As far as prizes go, no need. Taking part is great fun and the banter secound to none. Have a great summer one and all.
Wolves we are.!!!! Xxxxx
Just got back from a gig by the Kast off Kinks.
The original Kinks drummer with two other ex Kinks members plus a guy who’s played with Noel Redding, the Beach Boys and countless other famous names from way back when. Playing original Kinks songs.
How brilliant a song writer was Ray Davies?
Great entertainment!
A bit like we’ve witnessed at Molineux these last couple of seasons.
Can we muster one last hurrah?
A few pints of Newcastle Brown and a large Cognac says we can.
Decent taste in music and spirits, shite taste in beer. As bad as their footy team and VA R obsessed manager.
Well I certainly don’t want the scousers to win the league over Man City. They think they have some god given right to win titles etc but they certainly haven’t and, as we all know, there’s going to be a new kid on the block to make them suffer even more.
I can see the excuses already, ” we were emotionally and physically drained after Barcelona ” blah, blah, blah. Well up yours Shanklyites, Jota’s gonna get ya.
When the local Assembly Hall has a choice of lager or keg beer of highly questionable age and parentage I’ll choose a bottle of Newkie Brown every time mate!
Well that’s fair enough!
The blog, like the team, goes from strength to strength and heartiest thanks to Thomas, Ben and Rasmin and all the many commenters for providing so much entertainment, information and food for thought throughout this terrific season.
The upcoming game is, on paper, one of the toughest of the season. But football isn’t played on paper and I feel a massive shock is in the air. Our lads will want to sign off in style and what better style than to beat the Champions League finalists on their own patch. If it can be done, we are the team to do it.
Easy peasy this one.
We come to the end of a fantastic season back in the Premier league, the greatest league in the World. The league that has provided all four teams for the UCL final and the Europa league final, the league that has provided some fantastic football where the team that finishes second will have +94 points.
Wolves have taken it by storm, shocked the pundits with who we’ve beaten and shocked the fans with who we’ve been beaten by, it’s never boring. We are in awe with Moutinho, Jimenez, Jota, Neves. In shock with Costa, Traore and Cav’s lack of progress. But, the football has been amazing, the fitness mind blowing and the team spirit, to a man perfection.
There is no reason to think we can’t beat Liverpool, on paper we are good enough, determined enough and passionate enough.
So:-
Liverpool 0
Super Wolves 2
Liverpool go in front early , then we catch them on the break like at Spurs
Look, I’m not a massive contributor to this blog, and to be honest that’s me. There are people better placed than me to comment like the “week-in week-outers” who are THERE, seeing it in the flesh, the regulars to this blog who can give a much more informed opinion than I can who catches the odd stream and Now TV pass, but what I do want to say is that this blog truly connects everybody regardless of how we follow our beautiful Wolves, and for that I couldn’t be more grateful, thank you.
Now, on to winning the “Pred”…….he says….
I’d love a win against the only side in the top 6 we haven’t got any points from but the the form Liverpool are in, you can’t honestly see it.
I’d love a fairytale ending but I don’t think it is to be…
I beeping love the Wolves!!!!!!
We CAN win this game. I’m not saying we will win but it’s not a foregone conclusion that they will win.
Let’s just hope for a good start and let them worry a bit, either way.
I will be a little disappointed if we don’t get 60 points so I’m going for a win.
2-1. Their goal will be scored on a penalty.
Remember, these games are the reason our players joined Wolves. They will be up for it.
Lest we forget, we played Liverpool in the league without him, and in the cup with him.
For those of doddering age and fading memories, may I remind y’all of our season’s second half secret weapon……The Donk!!!!
Apart from the odd hiccup, we have been bostin’ with him, and Liverpool will:
a, be full of themselves
b, knackered after Tuesday
And c, don’t know, but I think Everton’s black cat will be around somewhere!
Easy three points to round off a reasonably good season with four wins on the bounce.
Playing against Messi twice in a week may be easy for them, but we got our Portuguese maestro and player of the season,
Moutinho, and this time round we are going to be a different kettle of tea from wot we was before Chrissymas
Easy 5-1 to we.
I would much rather City win the PL than Liverpool mainly due to the Liverpool fans who have this arrogant sense of entitlement about them.
Despite the fact that Liverpool’s likely starting line up on Sunday will have cost THREE TIMES what ours cost I fancy us to end the season like we started it with a 2-2 draw against a Scouse team.
To all those going on Sunday have a great day out – I will remember being there when we won 2-1 in the FA Cup a couple of years back till the day I die.
Good luck to City in the FA Cup final too! Europe here we come.
Am looking forward to the Summer for a rest – and to see what amazing players we bring in this time – but can’t wait for next season when I truly believe we will see the end of the ‘big 6’ as we will turn it into the Magnificent 7.
OODCL
Not much magnificent about what’s happening at Utd mate. They’re gonna finish below more than 5 teams next season
Would love to finish with a win but can’t realistically see it happening. Our result will not effect the final positions since City will have no problems with Brighton. Whatever the result it will be a fantastic season and already looking forward to Europe!
The Liverpool team consumed a lot of energy on Tuesday and hopefully they will be a bit leggy! Wolves have indeed taken points or won in cup games against all four of the finalists of the European competitions, so we are heading in the right direction. Hope this is not Tarore’s last game for Wolves as he has so much potential. Wolves to win by a surprising margin as Liverpool press for the win!
Thanks Thomas and all. What will we do this summer without this season’s entertainment? Oh, I know, we play in Europe!
As for this game, I think we’ll give them quite a game. But in the end, I just think Liverpool may want this just that little bit more in case City slip.
It’ll be close. You never know.
Go Wolves!
Tough one this we all no the Liverpool spirit after the other night, mention to spurs as well best 2 nights football ever – did not watch arsenal or Chelsea but to have 4 teams in the top competitions is a fantastic achievement.
If city are storming it then Liverpool’s escapades could well be felt by tired legs later in the game, as Thomas said as well I fancy Jota and Boly to score and hope that Salah finishes as top goal scorer in the prem (only as have bet on him).
Think the lads will want to put on a final show in a truly great season (said that last year as well) fantastic being a wolves supporter and a big thank you to all the team at Wolves
A really tough ask to get something from this given all that is possibly at stake for the home side. We’ve secured 7th place and can’t go any higher/lower so we’re playing for pride alone. Our fantastic side have given us some really memorable moments this season (as well as last) and just one more would be incredible.
I’ll settle for a point.
First thanks to all the contributors .I so like hearing other views .
Am lucky enough to be there on Sunday .Be a great occasion .I doubt we will get anything to be honest given the momentum with Liverpool but this is truly a free hit so go for it I say .
Many thanks Thomas, Ben and Rasmin for this entertaining and sometimes thought provoking Blog. Thanks too to all who contribute what are mainly well thought out well expressed views.
I thought Liverpool were the best team to visit Molineux this season, the difference between us and them largely Salah with his quick feet and brain, and Van Dijk, surely the best centre-back in the game.
My wife is a passionate Liverpool supporter who always believed Liverpool could overcome Barcelona whilst I gave them no chance. They will be physically and emotionally drained which will give Wolves a chance. But I would prefer Liverpool to, at least this year, slow down the behemoth City have become, and who, surely, are going to dominate the EPL for years and probably Europe as well. Plus we are fixed in 7th and a Liverpool win will contribute to domestic harmony in the Happy house. So against all my instincts going for a narrow home win.
Nuno has to play his strongest team to be true to the competion anything else and it would not be fair to City.
Sad that it’s the end of the season. What do we do now until (fingers crossed) the EL qualifiers?
This is the first season I’ve contributed to the Blog in terms of commenting, the odd piece etc. Thoroughly enjoyed doing so and interacting with many of you. I’ve also had the pleasure of getting to know all the fellow Bedford Wolves fans, who are great chaps.
Big thanks to Thomas and the two Bens. Always look forward to reading your content.
In terms of Sunday, I’m just glad we don’t have to rely on getting anything out of it for 7th. Can envisage City being 2 or 3 up by HT at Brighton, so the pressure will be off at Anfield and can see it being quite a high-scoring affair. Maybe something like 3-3?
We’re certainly not going to go to Anfield with any fear and I fancy us for a draw. No Salah and Robertson would be a big help, as those two along with VVD were the difference at the Mol in December.
I believe we will see Liverpool going for this big time. We won’t be able to match them, but it will be close.
I don’t post often, but read every blog and comment. Big thanks to all who contributed to the blog, especially Clive, who always cracks me up.
Next season hope to join the ball and catch some of you home and away. Couldn’t get a ticket for Sunday. So in the local pub shouting the boys on. Have a great summer everyone.
Cheers Dorset!
How are all your ‘responsibilities’ at the moment?
They don’t get any easier do they.

Love it, how long have you got!!
Hi Mark thanks for your kind words yes difficult time disappointed to miss the bloggers bash but what a season hope to see you and Sue next season Jill sends her love Dorset 2 is a top bloke had the same seat in the Steve Bull for 40 years. Have a good summer.

I thought Liverpool were really impressive at the Mol in the league game and having Salah and Virgil v.Dyke made the difference.
However I also remember our magnificent smash and grab at Anfield in the Cup a couple of years ago ….. which was in some ways similar to our Stella performance again Spurs at Wembley this Xmas just gone…… and it’s this deadly and ‘cutting teams to ribbons’ streak on the counter that we can exploit on Sunday.
A draw is no good to Liverpool regardless of what City do so they’ll be coming full throttle at us…… just how we like it….. and it’s this that will provide the platform to hurt them on the counter.
Might even be a surprise to see Traore thrown in but let’s give Jimi and Jota a chance first.
I’m one of the lucky ones to get a ticket and looking forward to meeting up with Stu, Jen, Ken and Carmen …..
Thanks to Thomas, Ben and Rasmin for all that you put into this blog….. cheers boys….
We’re all going on a European tour……
Think you should have gone for the extra large shirt Twix!!
Cheeky… it’s down to me drinking NZ dry of sauvignon blanc mate… can’t disagree right now though….
Looks like you’ve got a small blade in your left hand. I’d heard knife crime was on the rise in Stafford and now can see why!
Loving them ‘Hot Legs’ though.
😉
I know what your thinking but nah….. Nice guys don’t carry bladed weapons Bedders…..
There I sat the other day in my anorak and Wolves underpants on my head pouring over the results so far in our remarkable season. Remember the 5 game losing streak in October /November (Arsenal draw away excepted) ? At that stage we had taken 16 points from 14 games (1.14 points per game). Come December and the turning point. Chelsea at home. Since that game we have amassed the incredible total of 41 points from 23 games (1.78 points per game) . Last 8 home games – W 6 D 2 L 0. This demonstrates how we have improved as the season has gone along. If this sort of ratio is established over a full season we are looking 67/68 points (top 6 ?). A few quality additions in the summer. Who knows where we can go? Man City and Liverpool are the obvious stand out teams this year so we will have to be on our game and Liverpool slightly off theirs to get anything. But, as Gary Neville said earlier in the season on MOTD ‘Wolves won’t be scared to go to the big stadiums’ He is dead right. Liverpool will not be parking the bus. This will play right in to our hands. The speed of our counter attacks is breath-taking at times. I foresee a great game Sunday. I see us scoring a goal or two. I also see us conceding. So I am going to sit on the fence and go for 2-2. Besides, we owe them for 1976 when they sent us down. so I won’t be shedding any tears if we turn them over! Well done to all on this blog. The chaps who run it. The contributors. Even the occasional visitor from enemy trenches. Well done to all who are lucky enough to be at Anfield on Sunday. See you all at Steaua Bucharest (about 94p a pint apparently) next season . Probably. Liverpool 2 WWFC 2.
Cheesie,
Great post as always but a little forlorn no mention of “the cat”
I hope Sleazy Jet don’t put our flight prices up to £1,300 when they hear £30,000 Wanderers are on route.
1976 there was a moment kept hoping Steve kindon would have a moment he did but as usual kept leaving the ball behind
Nothing against Liverpool who have shown a collective strength of spirit which only their most fervent supporters felt possible. Maybe a few twists to come yet- would love to see an early goal for Brighton which would ensure both title contenders would throw the proverbial kitchen sink at their opponents. Cue a Nuno masterclass in defending and counter attack resulting in a win for us, double for City, Pool to win CL and a campaign in Europe for the gold and black. Time for my medication Nurse? 1.3 with goals shared by Diogo and Raul.
The vacuum of ‘ no Wolves matches’ approaches…what will we all do other than jump on to every rumor of transfer dealings over the coming weeks?
What a season… but it’s ending and August starts with no points… so let’s finish this one on a strong note
We need to be alert to their fast start and the even quicker ball boy returns that the Reds perfected against Barca
Hey we won at Anfield with a Stephen Ward goal once so let’s keep them in agony for 95 minutes
UTW
I’m not sure that the Wolves will line up the first team
From what I can gather if Man City beat Watford and we qualify for the europa League then our players get a 400 000 pounds bonus but will only get 3 weeks off as opposed to the 8 that they would normally get. Seen as we’re guaranteed 7th spot I would not be surprised if some players got some holiday back and some players got bloodied
Thanks to everyone on the blog for being great people
U t w
More to the point, London, did your dog like the sausages you stole??
What’s the matter with you ?
You can’t help yourself.., a proper grass
That was nearly as embarrassing as your name dropping !
Did I mention I met John Richards?
Yeah, what sausages? I didn’t see a thing officer …… honest .
First of all a big thanks to Thomas and also to Ben and Ben for the previews and reports. Always enjoy reading them just as I do the comments from the fans.
Onto this one and my head tells me we are going to struggle to get anything. Liverpool buoyant and need to take three points just in case. The longer it is that City don’t score the more they’ll heap the pressure on. Just hoping by some miracle we can hit them on the break a few times.
As everyone else says, a big thank you to Thomas and the Bens, without your excellent thought provoking articles the blog would be much diminished. Don’t always agree but I never agreed with Bernard Levin either!
I just hope Nuno doesn’t do another Sunderland selection, one of the most disappointing games of recent times and a bloody long way from Norwich!
Assuming full strength, their tiredness and our desire to end on a high and thus lay down a marker for next season,I will back us to win narrowly.
Now, what the hell do we do until August !!
The PMDG’er has just sent me this picture from her ‘phone so I thought I’d make it a caption competition to keep you occupied until the Liverpool game.
I’ll start it off. Conor says:-
“I think I’ve just found your five at the back”.
I’ll just humour him….. he thinks I’m Steve Bull!!
Conor : “What time do you have to be back at the old folks home?”
Doog: “I’ll have an egg with that”
He looks annoyed.
Conor “This bloke just said I’m nearly as good as Dave Edwards”.
No you’re not Bedders, but keep running about and you might get there.
Conor: ‘ I just love Madam Tussauds “.
Forgot to say massive thanks to Thomo and Co: for creating best blog on internet Premier Stuff lads Premier Stuff…….wide range of views not all ways agreeing with each other but one massive unbreakable bond Love of Wolverhampton Wanderers till death do us part………….amen..!
So we’re onto the penultimate blog of THE best season EVER.
When I look back to the M&M days we had our season tickets purely for the social side of supporting WWFC cus it wasn’t for the football.
Now we go for the football and everything Wolves, of course it’s still based around the pub, a pie & the people but the football has changed to make many of us ode en’s watch what we never ever thought was possible.
7th in the league, 4 wins, 4 draws & 3 losses against “the top six” the cup run including watching our wolves in Wembley we couldn’t ask for more.
But more will be what we get. Fosun, Geoff, Laurie & Dr Nuno plus special mention to Uncle Jorge, will ensure that of which I’m 100% sure. Long may it continue & I just hope I’m around for the next few years to see & create even more memories.
As for Sunday, I’m still more than willing to take any ticket to get to the game including that of the pie sellers / programme sellers to be THERE but expect to be in the pub.
The game must be played with a full strength team as I’d be really pissed (as I was at Sunderland) if we didn’t try our hardest to gain them last three points & we cannot “assist” either L’pool or Cithe in the League.
Plus after backing L’pool to win 4:0 at 60/1 in the week, I’ve a cheeky double on Liverpool 4 Wolves 4 and Cithe to loose 4:0 to Brighton at 40,400/1 making a tie at the top of the Prem and a play off for top spot.
COYW FWAW FOwb
A question for all y’all over that side of the ocean.
Who do Wolves have that would be categorized as an attacking mid-fielder?
Gibbs-White? Anyone else?
I think Joao is one who also defends well and the Donk is a ‘box to box’ type, so also attacks. But we play an unconventional system anyway so labels are a bit pointless.
What ever happens at Brighton who cares , I think City will win but just in case they don’t , they shouldn’t worry because the mighty wolves roll into Liverpool and if we don’t win I’m sure we’ll get a point. So even if City lose (not likely) we’ll get a point and City will win the league on goal difference….
UTW FOWB
Depends on how many City lose by.
No one gives us a prayer. And so they will fall.
Worse still Brighton will hold City. Meanwhile Liverpool get blown away by the famous Wolves counter.
Spine tingling rendition of you’ll never ‘win the league’ again ensues.
Wish I could be there me babbies but in spirit I will be.
Go on Wolves, a final push for a triumphant sign off.
Once again, thanks for the blog admins and all the bloggers. Always a good stop on my eternal trip round the Wolves wide web.
I expect our players to want to finish with an impressive display, with yet another top 6 performance. Liverpool may be over anxious, trying too hard as it were.
Last game of another great season, a big thanks to Thomas and also to Ben and Ben and everyone who contributes to the blog that is so important to those of us who live abroad.
It would be a fitting end to the season to see Wolves take something from this game but do not see us coming away with anything other than our pride intact after another great performance.
Liverpool 2 – 1
We’ve come on beyond all recognition over the last couple of seasons but let’s be honest, we’re not yet one of the best two teams in the world which I honestly believe Liverpool are.
We’ve got a chance because as the league shows we are the best of the rest and we can on our day put one over on anyone. They deserve to be knackered after this weeks heroics but I think they’ll still have enough.
I’m proud that we’ll be in there competing with them but it will still be a year or two until we’re their equals.
Still, I’ll be delighted if I’m wrong,
If macmanaman never liked wolves before, he is going to hate us by Sunday night
I remember that night clinging to the radio when kindon put us ahead and I remember the scous taking the piss while celebrating so I have no problem with stuffing up their ( remarkable) season
I also remember, reading the paper as a kid 79-80 and one line in particular
Wolves, on their day, can beat anyone
Funny isn’t it, the things that stay with you!
We were 6 th in the league, I’d got my ticket for the league cup final and we were massive underdogs against a great Forrest team
Well it’s taken a while but this season has seen us go into every game knowing we can win
Fanfuckintastick
Wolves, on their day can beat anyone

There was talk a couple of years back about decline of big English clubs relative to their counterparts across Europe and that the Premier League’s continental competitiveness is suffering because they don’t have just one or two completely dominant clubs in the way that Germany, France or Spain do.
Well now I can tell you that in 2019 the CL and EL will both be won by English clubs.
3 of the 4 English clubs that might win it – Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal – I suggest aren’t that much better than us. We’ve got a young and hungry squad that Nuno and the board will add to. If the ambition is there, and Jeff Shi gives me the impression that it is, then we’re only a handful of years’ progress away from these clubs; and then maybe a decade away from Liverpool’s current level.
Some good times are ahead of us. Let’s enjoy it!
What makes this blog so special is the relationships that have developed over the few years we’ve been writing. Many of us have met many family members and relatives through the games or even meeting the non-supporting loved ones at their homes.
So I want to share this with all the guys and gals that know my nephew (third son) Kevin.
He was across in Katy, In Houston Texas this week, he’s only gone and married his beautiful lady Jane. What a weekend this will be for the Wolves family, win lose or draw it’s getting better by the minute.
Sorry to use this blog like this, but I’m feckin happy, he knows loads of you guys so I wanted to share it…
I’ll drink to that Stuey……
No one invited me.
Wonder why?
Stu any inside info: on kit release…………mi in Cornwall in 2 weeks I nave both current kits but would be nice to parade new one round Padstow….!
Only the 3 kits posted on the last stream. Nothing on release dates.
Rick won’t let you in any of his joints 67 so I suggest a few pints of Proper Job in the London Inn.
Stu, you can tell the family resemblance
Or maybe he just uses the same barber??? 🙂
Oh & have you heard of any tickets????
Oh I wish mate, you would have heard straight after me.
At least it’s on the tv.
Sorry buddy.
Been an amazing season, now let’s finish it at Anfield with a win.
That was the week that was! (I’m old enough to remember the show fronted by David Frost). It was quite a week for English football. Four English clubs in the two European finals. And to think, Wolves beat all four this season. A magnificent first season up. When you think back to our two previous promotions this century, we went up on a wing and a prayer. This time is different.
That was the season that was! And it’s not over yet. I figure Man City will clinch the title at Brighton and the news will filter through to Anfield when they score. That could give us a chance. If Brighton were ahead I figure Liverpool will go at us all guns blazing, and in which case we would also have a chance! I sort of fancy 2-2 but I placed more than one bet. I’ve got 9-2 the draw, 21/2 Wolves win and 17/1 Wolves win and BTTS.
Yes, fill your boots lads and lasses because Wolves will not for the foreseeable future be at such long odds to win an away match. Currently 11/1 on Betfair exchange but 10/1 can be had generally elsewhere.
Thanks to all the bloggers input This season has been an absolute blast
Going for victory in the hope that we shut up a few of the ‘Faux’ ,shirt wearing never been to Liverpool ‘Fans’ that inhabit the area where I live . I keep hearing Talk shit radio going on about how they will get 97 points and still not win the league( as if its a foregone conclusion LFC have won this match).
Calm down Calm down

This game could go either way. Form says a Liverpool win, yet we all know what Wolves are capable of against the (supposedly) better teams. Should be fascinating to see the two best forward combinations in the land – Salah/Mane and Diogo/Raul. What’s the bet all four of them will score??
As for my prediction, well I blew my lead in the last 2 weeks predicting draws, now my only hope of catching up is to be different to the top 2 two guys. I am going for a 2-2 draw (will I ever learn!!) after what I said above.
Not only has it been a fantastic season, but a great year for Wolves Blog. Congrats to admin for the way this site is run. The banter is wonderful and always look forward to an insightful editorial/report. So looking forward to next season. Thank you for your all your hard work.
OK then the last prediction of a memorable season to say the least.
Too much at stake here for the scousers and nothing but a bit of pride for us .
Not convinced we will be motivated enough for this one and who knows what team nuno will play.
Would be nice to hold them to a draw but i cant see it in reality and in reality i am not too bothered as we have done our bit for this season .
Thanks to nuno and all his marvelous staff thanks to the players for their hard work and many many thanks to Fosun for their professionalism and commitment.
See you all soon .
Time for summer hols .
p.s city will beat Brighton so it will all be irrelevant anyway.
Don’t really mind who wins the league, although I really, slightly prefer Liverpool; they are both phenomenal teams; something to aim for? If this season has taught us anything, it is that any result is possible. However, being a Wolfy, I will go for a 2-1 win for ourselves and just hope for a magnificent game.
Thanks to all the contributors to what is, mainly, an intelligent site and especially to those who write and edit the articles; have a rewarding summer break; cheers!
Hope we don’t ‘do a Sunderland’ of last season as we owe the Scousers (more than) one – see the Wolves Heroes article for details
http://www.wolvesheroes.com/2019/05/08/how-nervous-are-they/
Going to be very difficult, given their amazing home form, but the longer it stays goal-less the more I fancy our chances.
I’m pretty confident that Wolves will be a major player and contender for the premiership title and headline position on MOTD in the future – but this game may be a little too soon.
So much riding on the game for Liverpool and very little riding on it for Wolves. They have the home advantage but we will be more relaxed.
It really is a tough call!
I’m really pleased that I get to see the game live on TV and I think it could go either way. I am confident that Wolves will put in a great show – but feel that home advantage and the importance of the game itself will weigh in Liverpool’s favour.
So – Liverpool to win but Wolves to get lots of support and be a prime candidate for the Premiership title next year. Wouldn’t that be exciting!
I recall the great days of the 50’s and 60’s and whilst this is probably the best team since then I don’t think it quite matches the Williams, Shorthouse, Stuart, Clamp, Wright, Slater, Hancocks, Broadbent, Swimbourne, , Wilshaw, Mullen etc days that I remember.
I really and truly feel grateful that I have lived long enough (74 this year) to believe that those wonderful days may be possible again.
Long live the Wolves
Spot on Dr Phil
Scousers to shade it for me.
Brilliant season somehow coming to an end today – where did that go?
Thanks to Thomas, Ben and Rasmin plus all the regular contributors that make this such an essential daily read when you live 140 miles away from Wolvo.
COMBs!
I’m a patient man, if uncle Jeff believes it, then I can wait another year or so…

Thanks for that Stu – brilliant succinct article about how far we have come.
So proud to support the mighty Wolves – enjoy the game mate.
UTW!
Great read cheers Stu
Do me a favour have a scouse beer for me & sing a song for “absent friends”
C u soon FWAW
Missing you already.
🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁
As for any other club, there are the scouse haters on here. But the Reds are currently everything we aspire to be – woven into the city fabric, terrific atmosphere, great manager, exciting football, European elite. And indeed we already fulfil some of those. Being part of ‘You’ll never walk alone’ on a great match day is spine tingling, just like being at Molineux with the South Bank in full flow and the lights on. I reckon the classy thing to do tomorrow is to enjoy YNWA, applaud it, and then break into a massive rendition of ‘Nuno had a dream’. Respect for a great club’s achievement this season and due notice that there’s another famous club in town with massive aspirations of its own.
Well said Peaky.
I have a few in the family that are mad keen Liverpool fans & have watched their pain & enjoyment this season.
And you’re right we should aspire to Liverpool FC
Good luck to Kenny Jackett in the play offs with Pompey. I won’t forget the part he played in nursing the sick Wolf back to health. Some great times in League One. Who can forget 10 k to MK.? What a day. Whatever happened to the chap who scored?
Well, here we are at the end of a momentous season. It’s gone so quick.
I’ve managed to do 44/46 games and enjoyed it immensely.
What a way to end. I’ve been looking forward to this game since the Semi Final defeat. Hope the team have one more game in their tanks, as I think they’ve been running on empty for a few games; Arsenal excepted.
Let’s go and spoil Liverpool’s party.
Probably 35 – 37 games ay it ?
No mate. Was including the Cup games!

Play our best team give it our all fantastic season so proud to be a wolf
Going for a defeat today as Liverpool will surely want it more than us,good luck, everyone have a nice summer.
Last day of the season and what a ride it’s been!
I don’t care which of Man City or Liverpool is crowned champions. I only ever want two results on a matchday: Wolves to in, everyone else to lose.
The only thing that has come close to matching the magnificence of the team is the performance of Thomas, Ben and Rasmin . . . . . where would us exiles be without their efforts? A big THANK YOU guys.
Have a good summer, everyone. It’ll be a short one.
First things first, massive thanks to Thomas and the 2 Ben’s for all their work on this blog life would be dull without it.
On to today I don’t particularly care who wins the title but would probably prefer Liverpool by a small margin, but don’t think they have much chance. Can’t see Brighton beating City.
Think the game could be a mini classic we should be totally relaxed and up for anything they will be busting a gut in case city slip up. Hoping for a win, think we could get a draw, but will probably loose. Hows that for getting splinters in may arse by sitting on the fence.
Almost forgot to post ?. Unfortunately didn’t get to see any of you guys but had a great time in Wolverhampton last Saturday! Only made my support for the club that much stronger.
Well done to Wolvo Dave and best of luck on the last day. With that said, picking Liverpool to win is the logical choice but I need to gain a point so I’ll hope Wolves can pull off something miraculous. Their home form has been devastating though.
Spotted in the Cavern Club in Liverpool last nigh. One of the boys…
Never mind Jeff, is that a Brompto clone in the middle?
I think Liverpool will win, but Man City will beat Brighton to make the result irrelevant.
Thanks again guys for another season of blogging great job. Liverpool have to win and I think that’s what will happen. I don’t think we’ll just roll over though so it’ll be tight. Jota to score our goal.
It’s been a fabulous ride but we have one last go on the rollercoaster.
I don’t mind which of the PL contenders takes the title but I’m hoping Wolves give a good account of themselves. If we can take all three points then so much the better. Whatever the case, I’ll be watching Sky Sports this afternoon with a bottle or two of Leffe Belgian beer.
I too would like to add my thanks to Thomas, Ben, Rasmin and Paddy for all their work on the Blog. Also, it was great to meet up with so many bloggers at the Novotel last weekend.
Well this is it folks. The penultimate game of a quite fantastic season. Some say we have over achieved . I say bollox this is just the beginning. Who knows what lies ahead top six ,European glory the skies the limit
To my fellow bloggers it’s been emotional !
I have craved on the wise words of wisdom from Stu , Clive in Houston and my ultimate wolves blogger Cheesy Death Burger and his cat from Gornal. Not to mention everyone else’s contributions !
I have a strange feeling about today’s game . I have visions of a Neves screamer an overhead kick from our Jimmy and a peace of individual brilliance from our Messi Diogo Jota

I’d love us to beat Liverpool as a threat regarding nxt season Man City should win 5-0 so they’ve won it imo…
Can’t believe it’s the last match of the season.
Thank you Thomas & both Bens for yet another year of hard work into this amazing blog.
Thank you Wolves, Nuno, Fosun, Uncle Jeff & everyone involved in making this team what it is today. I love you all!!
Somehow I don’t think we’ll get this but I’m not about to start predicting a loss!! The lads will want to sign off in style.

It would surprise nobody if we get a result after the season we’ve had but I think they’ll edge us out, needing to do the business
I can remember being at Molineux when Liverpool – with Kevin Keegan – beat us 6-0 and realise that the same result might happen today ….. BUT, this week has surely shown that absolutely anything is possible in football and, with the faith the team have proved themselves worthy of over the last two seasons, I believe we might just get a result at Anfield. So am going for a convincing 3-0 win for us (remember last season’s closer?).
Thanks to Thomas, Ben etc for the blog, to all bloggers for an entertaining season and, above all to Dr. Nuno, the players, staff and management of our great club for what they’ve done and where we are – and for the magnificent football we’ve been privileged to watch.
Onwards and upwards – Wolves ay we
I think Liverpool will be fired up in the first 20 minutes or so. Depending on how City are getting on, could have an effect on the game, we shall see. Hoping for a hard fought draw, but think Liverpool will edge it.
I’m thinking penalties and red cards could throw a spanner in the works of the normal course of events.
Just saying it before the games start.
Press conference from after the game.
I see what you did there Tim, iv’e just spotted it in Wolves news now. I bet that brought Nuno well and truly back down to earth, his face when he say down was a picture, he looked embarrassed.
Should make him determined to turn the tables next season, (excuse the pun)
I wasn’t trying to do anything. Just informative.
Could have been a scheduling thing.
Could have been reporters didn’t want to go to it for a 3 or 4 minute press conference when so many other things were happening.
Well we could have scored one or two with some compuser but in the end we fell short. Not that I think we were that far away indeed second half we were quite comfortable and the better side. Never mind Europa here we come. Here are ten things to look out for: 1. People with Dutch accents checking your tickets and saying ” that Ish great. Ajax are fuckin great.’ 2. Obviously not that great because you have a hole in your plastic bag. 3. And at least a can of sliced mushrooms has disappeared from site 4. Which is bloody shite as mushrooms are very nice thank you very much 5. I can’t see anything 6. Wolves ay we 7. Sofia Bulgaria here we come. 8. Which means walking about in Wolves shirt and inevitably some local will come up. Shake your hand and says ‘billy Wright is fucking great’ 9. And that is great. 10. Because Wolves ay we. And we am Wolves. FWAW!
Just got in from another fabulous day with The Twixster and the Lowves duo, shite train journeys but we got seats up and back (Soz Twixy).
Wore my shirt with pride all through Liverpool and around Anfield, red hot day and jacket tied round my waist. Bostin, Springs well on it’s way.
The highlight of the day if you take out the screamer that skimmed off the top of the bar with the goalie well beaten was, the number of Liverpool fans that came up to us and shook our hands congratulating us on being a fantastic breath of fresh air in the league.
Typical Scouse welcome apart from the knobhead booing us as we passed, much to the disgust of his young son who apologised to us, but I did thank him for being so gracious towards us and called him a Wanker, that brought a great big smile to his son’s face.
Sad the season is done, looking forward to 13th June for the new fixtures and the week after for the Europa league fixtures, should we get the result we desire at Wembley.
Have a great break bloggers, drink responsibly, (apart from Cheesy who should drink steadily)
Onwards and upwards guys and gals.
Wolves ay we.
Hope you and the family have a great summer sorry we did not see you at the bloggers bash. Take care.
