If I could rub a magic lamp and make one wish for next season it would be for Gary O’Neil to have a squad he feels good about.
Fosun haven’t afforded a manager that luxury since the early years of Nuno and that has to change.

Many of an old gold persuasion would just ask the genie to banish the video referee and given our rotten interactions with Stockley Park, I don’t blame them.
That crunching Semedo tackle is one we’ve seen a number of times this season across the Premier League. Sometimes it’s a sending off, sometimes it’s not.
And it’s that gross inconsistency that continues to infuriate fans of teams getting the rough end of the decision, which invariably, is Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It would have been difficult to hang on at Anfield with a full compliment on the pitch but with the handicap of a man less it proved nigh on impossible.
The two (preventable) goals Liverpool got before half time made me fearful of what might happen with red shirts attacking the Kop, but I credit the lads in gold for hanging in there and even creating a couple of good moments at the other end.
Had Matheus Cunha not spurned that wonderful opportunity or Alison not pushed out Neto’s power drive, it could have been interesting.
Still, it would be silly to dwell too much on those moments with Liverpool squandering a sequence of equally glaring chances at the other end to ensure Jürgen Klopp’s time in the Premier League didn’t end with all the bells and whistles he might have hoped.
But enough about them.
It’s 14th for us, which is disappointing when Europe briefly flickered into view but a position everyone would have accepted at the start when for all the world it seemed like things would unravel.
If nothing else, Gary O’Neil has given the club an opportunity to reset and do things better next time around.
Plan the summer, do things right and hit the ground running in August.
I’ll be there and I hope those fans that feel driven away by VAR, FFP and so much of the other nonsense that surrounds this great game will be too.
It wouldn’t be the same without you.
Thanks for reading.
Up The Wolves.

Yes, it could have been a worse result today had it not been for Sa and the defence.
Semedo’s sending off was going to happen, after VAR slowed it down so much that it looked like the poor bloke was trying to take Mac Allister’s leg off.
Ok, it was definitely yellow, but only yellow…
Disappointing position in the league as a result of our injury list and worst season since we came up eight seasons, but I’m not complaining when things could be so much worse. I hope King Gary stays with us and we can build on things.
Thanks to all of you you made this Blog happen and work.
All the best and au revoir…
COYW
Thanks so much,,Thomas and all for 15 years of myself thoroughly enjoying your hard graft and wonderful articles as a silent onlooker.
Genuinely utterly superb stuff from day 1.
You should be really proud.
All the best.
I’ve only been a very, very occasional commenter here but big thanks to Thomas and Ben and the under the line commenters (particularly CoD and Muttleigh) for making this place such an interesting read. We finish the season with the usual VAR decision against us at Anfield that pretty much kills the match but there have been enough positives this season to make me optimistic about next (unless VAR continues to penalise us more than other clubs – the figures that have been published show that this is fact not just our perception).
George like you I’ll miss CoD & Muttleigh so much. Is the Do-gooder going to takeover, what do we need to do , to keep us all in touch.
This game, for us at least, was relatively unimportant.
What is of far greater significance is it is the last Wolves Blog.
The final curtain.
The rather curvaceous member of
the fairer sex is about to burst into song.
So, once again, thank you Thomas, Ben, Ben and all fellow bloggers.
Brilliantly written blogs, superb, well informed and passionate contributions from all.
It’s been fun.
UTW
Today could have been much worse down to 10 and 2 down at half time. The season could have been much worse with so many key players sold due to PSR and our chosen one not fancying the fight. Let’s hope for some intelligent and effective decision making over the summer.
Many thanks to Thomas and all those that made the blog happen and best wishes for the future to all the bloggers!
ATB
I would like to thank Thomas and all the rest for their administration of this blog. Always seeking balance in the approach to the subject matter on offer. Today was always an uphill battle. I said before we needed to watch out for VAR (in a negative way). I wasn’t disappointed. How many times do you see that Semedo challenge go without penalty. Some against us of course. VAR IT’S WOLVES FUCK THEM OVER. And so they do. Really hope Fosun engage with Gary so he gets a squad of reasonably adept players for 24/25. Enough in the squad to get us looking at top ten. I won’t sign off without comment on the ESPN five year VAR table which shows Wolves hopelessly adrift at the bottom on MINUS 17. Eleven teams in the region minus 2 to plus 4.. The ‘evens itself out’ argument sure enough applies 11 of 13 teams. How do you explain Wolves position ? I can’t. Maybe just unfortunate. After 5 years how can that be ? MINUS SEVENTEEN. Fuck VAR.
Make that -18 after yesterday
Thank u all, love u guys, thanks thomas, and friends for blog,I’m quite emotional, as for the season it petered out, neto looked lively, big summer rebuild on cards, let’s trust Gary, fosun has had criticism , but still love wolves, let’s play full throttle at molineux, instead off tip tap football, once again I love u guys, cheeseburger stay in touch, wolves aie we!
Take it easy Binda mate. Wolves ay we !
Drop me a email ,nice to stay in touch bindamaan@hotmail.com
Match pretty meaningless.
Result pretty meaningless.
Not ashamed to say I turned over to watch the City game for the second half. And I’m .not a Citeh hater like many; at least they broke into the self appointed Sky 5 and outflanked – and then some, And in their own way they have exposed the hypocrisy of the greed league by beating the cartel at their own game. And woe betide the PL if they try to sanction them; Sheikh Mansoor’s lawyers will take the amateurs who “run” the EPL to the cleaners.
Which brings us to US.
Basically stuck in the best of the rest with the odd relegation skirmish inevitable.
Fantastic achievements by Nuno, Lopetegui and Gary to keep us where we are. But I fear for the future, And yes I am a critic of Jeff, but in mitigation despite his mistakes he is hamstrung by this FFP nonsense that is nothing more than a very transparent mechanism to preserve the cartel. Points deductions against Everton and Notts Forest while MCFC and Chelsea stonewall is a joke.
I say scrap FFP, scrap VAR and yes well said Jeff on that and let’s play football on the pitch like we did when I was a young man (a long time ago).
But most of all sadly tonight I say a fond farewell to this blog and thanks again to Thomas, plus the Bens, Paddy et al for keeping this show on the road for so long,
Best wishes to all bloggers whether we agreed or not, it’s our club regardless, we’re all in it together. Here’es to the next Chapters.
Forever a Wolf.
Paul B.
Take it easy PJB mate. I will miss our debate. Although we were not always that much apart. All the best chap. Wolves ay we.
I have only been commenting on this blog the last few months but have always enjoyed the banter, the names ( Cheeseburger of Death is an all time classic) and the honesty and opinion of true fans.
I sentiment also the feelings of the Blog ending and wish all contributors well.
We are 2-3 players from being a very good side. I was just reading GONs comments on how many loanees we have out there on the books. He also said he wants players who want to wear the Old Gold. That’s where the likes of Dawson, Leminaand Gomes were so pivotal in rightening the ship. Cunha loves this club. Poddys stock may have gone up and his style may suit Gary’s style, but I for one don’t want him back. Bye bye Fabio, Guedes too along with a few fringe guys. I think we have a future nugget in Mosquera. I saw Ramsdale may be available for 15 million. If we can get big money for Sa he’s our guy.
Time to put the feet up and anxiously read the transfer rumors then off to Jacksonville for a stroll v The Hammers. Have a great off season to you all over the Pond. Thanks to Thomas once again.
Our season ended where it began, with another highly debatable VAR decision going against us. But why should we expect anything else, when the system is so blatantly rigged in favor of the supposed bigger clubs ?
But that`s a matter for another day. Now, I`d simply like to add my voice to the many who have thanked Thomas et al for maintaining this blog for so long in such an efficient manner. No one could have done it better.
The main memory for me will be the enormous camaraderie which has existed between all regular contributors. Disagreement is healthy only if opposing points are made constructively and without rancour. On this Wolves site, mutual goodwill has been mightily evident in spades throughout. So thanks a million to everyone who from time to time has disagreed with my points of view. It`s been a pleasure to have been an integral part of this process.
Going forward I can only say that GON absolutely deserves real support from Fosun during the upcoming summer months. Hopefully they will find away to provide it.
When will a referee have the guts to go to the monitor, turn round and say, no, I was right? In this case that it may have been clumsy, rushed, potentially dangerous, but there was no malicious intent. Does intent come into it any more? Probably not. But my Red friend who was there reckoned the consensus around him was that there was no intent and it was a yellow.
That only happens if your Arsenal and need a winner in the last minute, mate.
And thanks, Thomas, for your commitment and wise comment, week in, week out. Good to see you’ve been the Guardian’s go-to man this season for the fans’ view.
And final thanks to Ben for some of the best from the heart football writing ever – you have a book in you. This all deserves a Klopp style farewell (I’d missed the blog about this being the end of the blog….where on earth will we get such measured, readable comment from??).
Been reading the blog for years but only started commenting in the last couple and now it’s all over and thanks to everyone who have contributed over the years for there passion and hope for all things Wolves which is a must go to everyday for proper Wolves comments and news.
Thanks to Thomas , Ben and any others involved in setting up and running this blog so well.
As for today sky scouser love in ,I think most of us new that VAR was waiting in the background for a chance to put another one on us for daring to try to get it scrapped,
So on to next season now let hope Fosun can increase and upgrade the squad so we have back up players to step in when we’re hit by injuries like this season run in .
And let’s hope out there somewhere will be a new blog (which this one set the standard ) that will replace this one with all the old names meeting up again .
So Scruffysid signing out, Wolves supporter through thick and thin since the glory days of the mid fifties .
Semedo was unfortunate in that when the footage was slowed down you could see that he wasn’t attempting a tackle at all but was trying to put his foot over the ball to drag it back.
Mac Allister was unfortunate in that his leg got there first.
And VAR did the rest.
A decent second half performance where we could well have ended up with a draw, but who would want to spoil Klopp’s last stand?…
Thanks again to Thomas and the gang for keeping the blog going for so long. It’s been a gas.
But as George Harrison once sang:- “All things must pass”.
And as Porky Pig used to say:-
“That’s all folks!”
Spot on, Dogooder !
How could he pull the ball back towards him without his studs pointing in the opposite direction. Yellow perhaps but red …::only because it’s Wolves.
I get that VAR is there to ensure that lesser teams never win but in an otherwise meaningless match to employ it just to ensure that we don’t piss on the “Klopp” party (I do like him, btw) is a bit of a stretch.
Better to scrap VAR and have the ref get it wrong occasionally rather than keep it and have them both get it wrong.
Anyone else glad this season is finally over ?
Not the Wolves Blog, obviously.
But the guys couldn’t be blamed if they have had their will to continue drained by Stockley Park.
Just a thought….but with all games being played simultaneously on the last day presumably necessitating 10 sets of leading Prem officials to be on the pitch.
Who the hell was at manning VAR anyway ?
The conspiracy theorist in me thinks the Semedo card upgrade to red was down to the folks at Stockley Park making sure Klopp’s send-off went without a hitch. Clear and obvious, my derriere. It served to ruin what might have been a decent match.
That said, 1o-man Wolves made me proud in the second half.
Well it’s done: the match, the season and, no doubt, Wolves’ attempts to consign VAR to the rubbish bin.
As is the Wolves Blog. You stole so much of my time. No, I lie: I gladly gave it – spending hours poring over the the wise words of Thomas, the two Bens, Paddy and the occasional contributors. And the equally valid points of all those who came on here to air their views on our common passion. I raise a glass to you all, including those Blogger friends who, sadly, are no longer with us.
Adieu.
Maybe the folks at Stockley Park were outraged that Wolves called for their abolition, basically. That’s what scrapping VAR means. It was never a clear and obvious error by the referee. The only clear and obvious error was from Stockley Park in sending the referee to the monitor.
So very disappointed that this blog is over! Really bad news and will leave vacuum for us Wolves supporters lives!
Did not see the game but not surprised with yet an debatable VAR.
The more I hear about the proposed self- financing model that Jeff Shi has adopted the more I think it is a recipe for a disaster. Brighton may be a model but they are already slipping rather than advancing. It is extremely difficult and almost impossible to achieve! We will be a feeder club then!
Brighton are slipping as did Burnley and wolves after their introduction to Europe,,non had the capacity for an overloaded season and the fixtures would never be friendly thanks to the EPL
Thanks bloggers one and all I’m off to practice my foetal position for the expected boredom in the land of the great white cloud
Arrived off plane in Roma last night to read match reports
Ah …… inevitable happens doesn’t it?
So proud of the old gold and black
We must all move on
(Hopefully not Pedro)
Bon chance Thomas Ben and All and merci
May need help
With this Discord thing
OODCL
Same old same old. Wolves at the end of a piss poor VAR decision. Stockley Park exceeding their brief again. Supposed to be clear and obvious. Even to Carragher it wasn’t either. But I can’t be bothered to get upset anymore. I was proud of the team. Ten men defending for their lives and even creating decent chances. Sort of team mentality that should give them and us hope for next season especially if Fosun come through.
Finally once again Thomas, Ben, Ben and Paddy thank you for the gift that is this Blog. Many years of pleasure and getting to know so many through their comments and banter. (Who could forget Amanda, CofD, Muttleigh, Doogooder, CoH and too many more to mention.
So we all sail into a golden sunset. Good luck to all of you
So the curtain falls on another season and our beloved Wolvesblog. The season has been one of ups and downs and, despite the underwhelming last few weeks, has far exceeded expectations. With the return of some of our loanees who have performed well this season, and some reinvestment of fees received, we should start up next August much stronger than last.
The same can’t be said about the blog. I’m missing it already although the friendships created through this forum will undoubtedly live on. I’m yet to try the Discord thing as I didn’t deem it seemly to crown the new monarch while the old one was still breathing. I will give it a go soon though. If it turns out even half as good as this blog has been for so long then the Thomas and Ben’s legacy will be secure.
Thanks to all and hope to renew discussion on Discord.

Just dropping in to encourage more people over the board on Discord. I’ve started a post-match thread over on there for people to try it out and learn the ropes. It’s really super easy to sign-up and join-in. You can keep your name and upload the same profile picture (as a few have done already) so it’s an easy transition.
https://wolvesblog.discourse.group/t/liverpool-away-post-match-chat/26
An inevitable and depressing end to a season that promised so much. Another VAR decision goes against us, which killed the game. To be honest I’m relieved I don’t have to go through this weekly VAR torture for a couple of months. Never known a season like it.
Thanks for the blog, guys. It’s been fun. And surely there’s a consolation prize for someone who didn’t get a score prediction right all season? You know, like a Lego VAR van or something?
Take care, be happy and remember the good times.
Going to miss Wolves Blog Thomas. Not a regular poster but a very regular reader. This coincides with me calling it a day with my season ticket, held since 1992. I can blame var and ffp and all the evils of the modern game but really its age. Facing those headlights down the M42 on a winters night or ridiculous train fares are probably the real reason. Realise I have in fact followed this site for 15 years and very grateful to all the contributors whether in agreement or not. Thanks again Thomas and all the best to all for the future. UTW!
Many thanks for all the years of blogging, guys. It’s been a real tonic! Where do we go now for informed debate? Anyone any ideas ?
if i could rub a magic lamp and make a wish for next season it would be that Wolves Blog was still around
A previously regular reader and poster I have to confess that I haven’t visited the blog for some time and it is therefore with some shame I have to record my shock that the blog is about to close.
I’m sure this has all been discussed before, but in its’ heyday the fact that so many people connected in person and formed deep personal relationships appears to me as something quite unique. Even arranging a regular end of season ‘do’.
So many of the regular contributors were very familiar names to me. The contributions may have taken me through the complete range of emotions – laughter, anger, confusion, sadness, pride but I’ve appreciated all of them (eventually).
Thanks Ben, Ben, Thomas, Paddy and everyone who has been involved in running the blog, I don’t underestimate the time and effort required – but it’s been quality.
Safe future journeys to all of you!
We’re still planning on an end of season ‘do’ – maybe even a mid-season one.
We’ll just have to sign up to Discourse.
I’m exhausted with VAR. Was having a massive argument with a plastic armchair Scouser (from Penn) yesterday afternoon. I basically pointed to the facts. Even Jurgen Klopp was mystified why Wolves are so routinely fucked over by VAR (Telegraph report apparently). I left it with VAR should explain why every other team of the ever present VAR 13 is in a range -7 to +6 but Wolves are minus 17. Now minus 18. You can sense our players are absolutely fucked off with it all. Still waiting for a ‘debatable’ VAR in our favour after 5 years. None. Not one. Hey. It will ‘even itself out’ by 2029. Fuck off.
Klopp has decreed that we’re champions of the VAR screwed over league .. by a country mile ..
What’s even more laughable was Michael Oliver’s acceptance that , despite being sent to the monitor.. Jesus’s clear handball wasn’t sufficient for him to overturn what 99.9 % of other officials would have ..
In other words .. all refs have their own rules .. refs are generally open to a bung … dependant on which team it is .. depends on which decision applies ..
I.E …. Corruption prevails ..
even the Liverpool steward yesterday was having a laugh about Michael Oliver..
The last post .. sounds like I’m calling the Bugler ..
I went yesterday and firstly it was lovely to see Franski and Carmen chilling under the new stand…
You’re totally right Cheesey regards VAR .. The ref originally yellow carded Semedo .. as soon as it appears on the video screen .. “checking possible Red Card ” .. you know exactly the outcome.. it’s just incredible how loaded it is against us ..
Strangely.. up until then we were under a lot of pressure…. But no goals .. then we conceded a couple of sloppy ones .. where Santo Bueno just seemed as though he couldn’t be arsed … looking to blame others when in fact he couldn’t mark a blooming exam paper .. piss poor ..
Then , following two ‘sloppy’ goals we dug in and weathered the expected onslaught…
Bringing on the Doc stabilised things and had Cunha done better with his chance .. I reckon the Scousers would have shat themselves in the last 15 mins ..
The introduction of Neto showed just how much he’s been missed as he created a bit more panic in Liverpool’s defence and was denied by a fine Allison save .
So .. we finish in 14 place .. far below what “could have” been… so it’s now up to GON and Shi to re-establish what our potential really is …
I’m not totally convinced by O’Neill .. he does make mistakes but winning once in the last 11 games can’t be ignored ..
It’s ok to have reasons why things aren’t going well .. but 1/11 wins can’t be ignored or overlooked …
Regards the end of this Blog .. it’s dreadfully sad .. so many folks that have got so much from the hard work of Thomas, Bens’ and Paddy .. for ever we’ll be grateful.
However .. it (imo) doesn’t have to be like this ..
I’m more.. more than happy to take it on .. I bet my views would be just as dynamic and forthright as Toms .. and maybe my 65+ years of following Wolves FC will be “coming in from a different angle” perspective…
I’m going to write to Thomas to sound him out .. as they say ..
I’d dearly love to be the custodian (temporary or otherwise) of this wonderful creation of Thomas and Ben ..
please like if you agree .. !!
Sounds like a spiffing idea to me dear fellow
Massively wonderful idea Twix old son. No idea how it could happen but if it could I am with you. There must be a way surely. You can see from the comments how gutted everyone is. Totally understand Thomas has exhausted his ownership but surely there must be a way?????? LONG LIVE THE BLOG !!!
I’m with you totally if you are prepared to take on the Blog mate, as long as you have the time and computer savviness (is that a word?) to do so.
I suspect that running a regular blog is a bit like watching a swan swimming. It looks so smooth and effortless above water but you just know how those little legs are pumping like fury underneath.
As far as getting on to ‘Discord’ is concerned, I am still waiting, after about a dozen tries, to receive their ‘activation’ email (which they have sent me a dozen times, so they say) so I can log in to make a comment.
Has anybody else had that problem, or do they just not want me?
I’ve tried the discord app too .. and despite my relatively limited pathway skills .. couldn’t get anywhere with it ..
So I parked it up .. and I’ll wait for a brighter spark to guide me ..
hope you’re both better.. x
Same Lord Twix – hopeless. Looks like the BBC is possibly our best option
Unless you and / or others are able to take it on of course. Good luck.
DOOGgooder I’ve had the same problem with discord. God knows how many times I’ve hit the activation button. I eventually managed to activate it by using a different email address- which worked first time. I’m 63 & no IT expert.. But for what it’s worth my Gmail worked & btinternet didn’t. The btinternet email was also my username, don’t know if that makes a difference. Good luck
I’m finding it harder and harder to love football and now without you bunch of people to share my frustrations and occasionally (very) celebrate with, that’s another star gone out in in the sky.
Don’t give two hoots about the last game. For me it’s all about the lat blog.
Farewell all and good luck.
My old man said he’s glad to stay in the championship.
Says a lot to me tbh.
I’m falling out of love with the game…a top league run by greed and control.
Wolves may never ever br able to achieve more than mid table survival every season.
Bored with the league and haven’t watched a game for months.
The blog has been the best part of my journey.
Thanks for putting so much into it for so long
Waw
Absolutely gutted to see you go. Feeling similar feelings to after Nuno and mad mick leaving! You have been a constant support through the trials and tribulations of the last few years! A shame it didn’t end on a cup final (damn that VAR and injuries).
Fantastic blog all the best for the future
Maybe the timing of the end of the blog is appropriate.
Sadly football as we traditionalists know it is dead.
For a variety of reasons I shall not be renewing my season ticket (not all football related) and reluctantly become more of a follower than a “fan”.
VAR and the FFP saga where Chelsea and MCFC can obfuscate for years while Notts Forest and Everton were hit by instant point deductions is symptomatic of where the game is heading.
VAR UK style is bent.
FFP is rigged to suit the cartel and wouldn’t be surprised to see Man City hit with massive sanctions for breaking the stranglehold of the original Sky 5. If that happens all hell will break out in the courts. And when are Chelsea to be held to account?
Well done to Villa for qualifying for the Champions League, now waiting for the FFP enquiry to see if they can be disqualified.
It’s bloody obvious that some sort of international closed shop super league is on it’s way playing in multiple stadiums worldwide with the odd “home game” as a sop to local supporters..
Will always be a Wolves fanatic but this isn’t what I signed up for back in 1959 and it’s been a blast with a lifetime of wonderful memories along the way.
Good luck to you plastic “supporters” of the cartel you’ll never have the fun that we’ve had when football was actually a proper competition.
Disillusioned with the game itself not my club. And to be fair to Fosun seemingly they didn’t really know the closed shop they were taking on 8 years ago; even Sheikh Mansour might be about to find that out.
Football is no longer a sport but a media dominated lucrative “entertainment” business aimed at fleecing the global masses at the expense of aficionados of the real game. Let’s face it the chances of Wolves or any our peers actually WINNING a major trophy ever again are virtually non existent.
Au revoir to all fellow bloggers, it’s been fun.
What a masterpiece of truth PJB ..
I don’t always agree with your opinions but I 100% agree with everything you document above ..
This business .. football.. is all about and solely about .. MONEY .. sloshing about .. and do they care where it comes from .. nah …
Because the TV companies, Premier League wanker CEO’s, pundits, PGMOL, VAR, UEFA and anyone else bunged by the BIG Six don’t give a toss about the paying public (fans) ….
What’s the point of trying to fight it …
Let them have it I say ..
I do think that WWFC have seen where this is heading ..
Loads of wonga floating about .. but critically.. NO FANS watching inside the stadium..
Cheers PJB.
A sad way to bow out, but understood.
Perhaps you might consider attending next year’s get together if we can keep in touch.
This applies to anyone who is interested.
Just email me at thedoogooder@btinternet.com and then at the very worst we will have some means of communication on any possible future plans.
Stay well everyone.
Furthermore.. re Nan City and their 115 charges … which apparently are broken down into 5 categories..
Please someone tell me why the PL don’t go for a category at a time .. not the whole chabang all at the same time .. that in itself is stretching the issue out ..
Go for the clear and obvious misdemeanours .. ie One of the Five most likely to succeed .. oooops .. sounds a bit like VAR now… and guess what .. they’ll be let off ..
the whole thing is like Billingsgate market .. smells very fishy …
.. Man City
Just to say fellow bloggers, I signed up to the Discord thingy and it worked fine.
Found myself wondering why not many were doing much over there so checked in here and Hey Presto! You’re all still here.
Must be a transition period.
Have been trying to join The Wolves Blog Legacy Chat site for two or three days now unsuccessfully. I log in with the details already entered and it keeps telling me to use the code emailed to my email address. It never arrives and I check my Spam folder and it is not there either. I can log in and see the chats but am unable to add my three pennyworth until the above procedure is followed.
Same for me.
Still not receiving the code for the new blog despite asking for it to be resent on numerous occasions. Not delivered to inbox or spam.
Many thanks Thomas (and Ben, and Ben, and Paddy). This blog really has been top notch reading for the last 10 plus years! Different class as they say.
Best of luck to all.
Que Sera, Sera
At this time, if anyone is still visiting the blog I was hoping to put up a link to the Youtube video I made of The Bloggers’ Ballbash.
Unfortunately, Youtube, in their infinite wisdom have listed a number of copyright problems with music that is played pre-match and video of the Wolves goals against Spurs.
Bearing in mind that it took quite a time to put the thing together and it will involve cutting and redoing it, I’m not sure when the new version will be available.
If anyone is interested in seeing the finished article, all I can suggest is that they keep checking on Youtube.
My channel name is GETAUSERNAMEGETALIFE.
As some of you already know it’s full of old Wolves videos and some from music festivals and gigs I’ve been to, so might prove mildly entertaining until the Ballbash one appears.
Sorry about that.
Cheers Doogooder, iv been looking forward to catching a possible’ rogues gallery’ vid of the ball bash and have always enjoyed the previous ones.
I’ll keep checking from time to time , enjoy your summer and a possible festival or two.
Utmw
You only looking out for LORD TWIX ..aren’t you ..
Yep
You got me !
Season ticket price rises?
Surely worth another blog post.
What the f*** is Jeff Shi thinking about?
“IS ANYBODY STILL HERE?”
The Wolves Ballbash video is now live.

Yes mate ..
Just watched through the now much sought after BLOGGERS BALLBASH VIDEO… and it’s another cracker ..
Brilliant work .. Mark and Sue .. a credit to what it means to us all ..
Cheers mate!
Here’s to next year!
Hope Lilian is recovering. Give her a hug from us.
Brilliant doog
Possibly the best one yet and so professional too.
Love your set up with the jukebox, gonna try to zoom in and check out your play list
Cheers
Paul
Utw
Cheers Paul!
The jukebox has provided hours of fun. I recommend it to anyone with a collection of over 1000 classic vinyl 45’s. (That’s me).
See you next year.
Tremendous video, Doogooder. Thanks to all on this Blog and hope to continue following the best set of fans I’ve come across. 340 miles travelling and ageing is getting to be a stretch, but I hope to be there, at Molineux, next season despite the attempts to bleed me dry financially. I wonder how much the car parking is going to sky rocket? Time for Jeff to learn Wolves are a passion first and a business second, although, of course, important. How can our less well off fans be so poorly treated? The way of the modern corporate world maybe; Not good!
Thanks Debenham.
I know what you mean about travel and ageing… and cost.
Where do you travel from?
I travel along the dreaded A14 (much better since the Cambridge improvements) and awful M6 section. Both were mainly closed on a recent late night trip; took me five hours none stop driving, using some strange back roads, to get back at gone two in the morning. I live in Debenham, Suffolk. Fifty quid petrol, ten quid parking and now another big hike in my season ticket. I can manage it but how on earth families and not so well off fans can afford it is beyond me. Nearly all my family are fans and live in Wolverhampton taking their children to the odd game; I have two grandchildren and one of my sons nearby and they get to the odd match . Their two children are Wolves fans , one boy, one girl, and have the kit. Both play and carry the Wolves flag despite Ipswich being nearby. I do wonder if the temptation to support another team might occur without the treat of attending Molineux being so likely. I doubt it, mind you. They are pretty brainwashed at Ten and eight… Have a good summer and let’s hope everything works out well in the end.
Goodbye everyone and all the very best.
Brilliant Doog …thanks for all your hard work
You’re welcome mate.
Evenings like that are special and need to be remembered.
For anyone still struggling to sign-up to the Discord board, I’ve created a video showing the sign-up process:

I encourage anyone having problems to check the above video to make sure they’ve followed the same steps.
A few people have noted they haven’t received the Activation email. In that instance, make sure you check your Spam folder and/or any other sub-folders in your email account.
On the Discord support page, they also have some literature that might help if you’re still getting stuck:

Hope this helps.
Great work Doog. MANAGERS WILL COME AND GO. PLAYERS WILL COME AND GO. OWNERS WILL COME AND GO. Wolves fans are ALWAYS here. Fuckin Wolves Ay We. FWAW.
Hi Thomas, I know that loads of people have already asked you, but is there any chance you could just leave this thread active so that we can all keep in touch on here, Discord is not as user friendly and everyone is here, thanks again for all you have done, I really donut want to lose this community, thanks to you again for everything, it’s by far the most reasoned and sensible Wolves blog and has it’s fair share of mavericks which is brilliant, please reconsider or can other people run it, (us) UTW
Yes, I’m afraid despite regularly trying to join the new site, nothing happens. Spam and inbox remain unassailed by their code. It’s a shame as we have a close season full of football to agree and argue about…
Me too mate.
Do you think they’re trying to tell us something?
Can’t make any sense of this either. Successfully set up registration and can sign in but can’t write comments.
Looks like au revoir to all.

Night hawk calling ..
Have you renewed yr stepson ticket Matt..?
Btw .. the bloggers video of yourself was .. so good and funny .. brilliant mate ..
Season
yep … all done mate
just read that man city are getting ready to jog Nunes on cos he’s shit
lol
you reap what you sow in this world ain’t it !?
You certainly do London ..
I thought he’d be good for us … but when Man City came calling and he wasn’t interested in us .. I thought.. well fuck you too ..
He’ll end up a misfit .. am I worried .. nah ..
I’d rather spend my time at the BLOGGERS BALLBASH ..
That’s one of the best bits of news I’ve heard for a while.
How are the not so mighty fallen.
The other good news is that someone is still speaking on the blog. I wonder how long we can keep this going.
Even when moth-balled this is still the best Wolves site !
Now GON get us a striker…
it’s a pity that that podgy little Villa prick is a shit player otherwise he might be good .
oddly enough….mcginn ….. in scottish actually means slow and smells of shit
Got to either stop drinking or stop posting stuff while drunk
Yes, that McGinn is a thug and a nasty piece of work… but he’s the sort of thug you wouldn’t mind in your own team.
The Germans looked very good last night. What do you reckon to England’s chances?
And don’t stop drinking or posting… drunk or sober you’re a good read.
Clive would have loved the score……. and responding to Stuwolf.
Mcgin is a thug.
Thanks doog !
Mcginn gets under my skin
But you are right.
Hope Tom leaves this open for people that aren’t good with change
Could we please just keep this going as a comments platform Thomas, have you had any second thoughts UTW
The new season fixtures are out on Tues..
I wrote to the Premier League to ask that we be given a home fixture on the last day of the season .. particularly because we’ve been away for 6/7 past seasons .. which is now imo NOT a coincidence…
The only time we’ve had a home game was v ManUtd but the attendance was restricted to 10k because of Covid ..
I did get a reply .. but not to the question as the young lad seemed to want to educate me in that teams don’t have more than two home or away game’s consecutively and that if you’re at home in Boxing Day .. you’re away on New Year’s Day .. yeah ..
I did return the email asking him to answer my question but unfortunately.. I think he’s now been given a gagging order.. lol…
So I await with baited breath..
My theory is that all PL teams are given a number in alpha order.. but then there’s a bit of manipulation to put Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea etc to numbers that will get a home game on the last day ..
Unfortunately Wolves are always Number 20 .. and guess what .. an away number for matchweek 38…
What’s the betting it will be Liverpool Away for the umpteenth time over the last few years.
I’ll give you a ring one night next week Mike OK?
Absolutely Lowves .. look forward to it .. x
When you wrote to The Prem, did you mention that The Bloggers’ Ballbash is the main reason we want a home match on the last day of the season?
I’m sure that would have swung it with the young fop who fielded your message.
How’s Lilian mate?
Thanks for that Doog .. I’d say she’s pretty much fully recovered now .. I’ll certainly pass on your message and wishes ..
.. we did our ticket renewal on Friday.. x
Apparently we have the toughest start to next season based on our first 6 games .
That must mean the last 6 should be kind I guess!
Ahh fook em , we can piss on arsenal’s opening game enthusiasm can’t we !
Utw
We can only beat what’s in front of us .. lol..
It’s perhaps dreaming .. but it would be wonderful to put one over the Gooners first game ..
At least the PL took note of my email and gave us a cracker last game .. at least it’s at home ..
Dreaming is free twix! Maybe another email to tell them where to shove var while you’re on a roll?
FYI
Il be in town whilst we play
Leicester- Man U – totteringham -and Forrest so hopefully catch up for a beer somewhere if I can purchase any tickets!
Fully expecting to lose another vital organ to get in on Boxing Day against the mancs as I guess that will have to be corporate!!!!
Utmw
As you say Marney .. dreaming is for free .. lol
i think if we have to sell Neto then it should be january due to the difficult fixtures at the start of the season.
Very good point LWL …
Personally I’d rather not sell him .. as we then get into the realms of selling our best players and standing still when it comes down to improving the squad and ultimately the chance of progression and Europe.
It doesn’t sit well with me .. we were the original hope for European glory .. now we seem to be happy to pass the baton .. not fair on supporters who pay good money to see the team aspire to European competitions and better still ..
As the blog has still got some breath left I thought I’d comment about todays friendly.
Without getting excited it was pretty drab.. a lot of sideways passing amongst the back four with very little cutting edge up front .. Rays Vallecano weren’t champions league material and so there’s an enormous amount to work to be done to get us anywhere near a mid-table team.
The usual failings shone out I’m afraid .. Hwang continues to fall over to look for a foul, which Anthony Taylor quite rightly ignored.. Sarabia was decent in speaks and dire in others.. Lemina tried hard .. but playing just in front of two central defenders doesn’t offer much going forward .. Air Nouri too has twinkle toes at times but no end product..
The two Gomes worked hard and Rodrigo showed us what pace he’s got ..
I thought Toti and Mosquera were sound , although a bit hurried at times ..
Not exactly something that gives me confidence going into the trip to the Emirates.. next Saturday will be for real .. and we’ll have a clearer picture of where we’re at ..
I’m worried though ..
I share your concerns LT, the new boys looked energetic and have technical skills but it all looked a bit lightweight. We should give credit to the Vallecano defence, however, which was uncompromising and well organised – just what we can look forward to this season from the so-called lesser lights when they visit the Molineux.
Our defensive set-up does not look equipped to withstand the demands of the PL and I suspect we will revert to a back five after a few early shellackings- we don’t get the best out of Lemina with a back 4.
Yes, lots of early promise but a lack of imagination with forward passes- Larson was making lots of fruitless runs.
More recruitment with PL experience is what’s required.
Same here LT.
Firstly seriously missing this blog as alternatives seem very inferior; BBC Sport seems best option but with limitations – it’s not our own dedicated forum and text is capped.. What can we do?
Secondly, concerned about upcoming season. Usual transfer rumours abound but little of substance. Close on £100 million in the bank but not an awful lot out, only consolation more numbers in the squad but at the moment smacks of quantity rather quality. If things stay as they are I fear for next season and wouldn’t be surprised to see at least one more high profile departure. Come on Fosun, we aren’t stupid.
COYW, good luck to Pedro and can we somehow revive our blog.
rather THAN quality.
Last post I guess!
I’m not worried about this season, mainly because I’m not bothered if we get relegated.
The ‘ promised land’ of the prem has well and truly lost its gloss for me .
I’m fed up of the bullshit from so called pundits, var and the media s pathetic obsession with their favourite teams .
Bugger off to your super league I say .
I sent a massage to my son earlier today with a photo of our latest kits( home and away) asking if he fancied any with a
‘ who gives a fuck if we get relegated’ ?
He said ‘ I really like the black one dad ‘
Well that will do for me .
Il order them tomorrow
Come on you mighty wolves
Enjoy the season you lovely people
Utw
Couldn’t agree more Marney
EPL. La Liga, Ligue 1. Serie A and Bundesliga have become a playground for international opportunists who have no interest in our in our sport other than as a vehicle to line their own pockets. Fosun have their own way of doing it,
Sadly and reluctantly I relinquished my ST this time around because clubs like Wolves are now there just to make up the numbers and I don’t like being taken for a ride. Maybe the balloon will burst and we could return to the days of “demons” like the Marshalls and Sir jack who actually loved the club as much as we do. Hope springs eternal!
Always a Wolf but the magic has gone.
Will always love The Wolves but “Those were the days my friend …….”
I couldn’t disagree with Marney or PJB from what they’ve penned ..
Football, and the smug PL Chiefs, PGMOL officials and TV pundits see it as a meal ticket to wealth and fortune.. I omitted fame .. because sone will become infamous by their greed ..
We both renewed our season tickets this year, tgd heart ruling over the head .. but believe me .. I’ll be vociferous as f@@k if I see Fosun taking me for a financial ride… indeed anyone not performing, including GO’n can expect to hear from me… sorry but it’s what football has become.. greed pure greed .. and that’s before VAR gets a mention ..
as per is usual Asad and McGuire of Manure tried the diving tricks last night .. unfortunately only one got booked .. so the cheating tactics have already started… no doubt most if not all games will be remembered for a VAR controversy…
Arsenal today then .. and I look at who we’ve sold and who we’ve bought and , we’ll, we’re massively short changed already .. I can really feel the “couldn’t get it over the line” excuses being lined up as we end up doing exactly what hurts me .. being mugged over..
Please Fosun .. support the fans ..
As for today .. it’ll be a 0-3 I’m afraid ..
glad people are still posting on here
i feel massively short changed too
we all love a pacemaker on the left wing … a couple of seasons ago we had Adam’a keeping Pedro out
Now we’ve got fuck all
100 million in sales and we can only spend 20 ?
fuck off !
we sold collins to Brentford for 30 so it doesn’t even buy that !
got another amazing manager that will end up having to quit
Great comments London .. but more succinctly put than me ..
FWAW .. and FOWB
Predictable disaster today. Fosun taking the pi$$. O’Neil will either be prematurely dismissed or walk when it suits, Insufficient investment in terms of quality or quantity since Nuno days. Very sad to say my doomster scenario since then is becoming reality. Relegation this time looks a real possibility.
Shi (and Hobbs) sounding like a broken record – “we couldn’t get our target signings over the line”, not that they looked much good anyway. Pull the other one Jeff/
Again hope we can resurrect this blog as I can only find the BBC as worth posting on.
Fear the worst now but seen it all before and after 65 years though thick and (lots of) thin will always remain a Wolf but currently “I see a bad moon arising”, .
Lots of heart (and missed opportunities) in attack, but our defense is awful. So many of those goals were preventable. I actually kind of hope we get Ramsdale over the line, might give us a shot in the arm that we need (i know there is some bad blood there but maybe there can be some bygones?)
I think there is lots of promise in the attacking team. Defense needs some work – we are too casual. Maybe we need to choose our moments and teams for the back 4? Dont think its doom and gloom yet though.
Quite right CanadaWolf, I didn’t go over the top when we thrashed Chelsea away last season and refuse to now.
Until we have the personnel to play a back 4, stick at what we know- a back 5.
Ait Nouri is at his best driving forward, not defending.
Keeping the faith.
Which blog have people moved to now?
Not sure who’s on the blog these days. Confused all round with yesterday. Team set up (effectively 424) left Lemina and Gomes outnumbered with Palmer having the freedom of Molineux. RAN kept coming inside to pick him up leaving Madueke on his own. Could the coaching staff not see it? We had 2 wingers on the pitch at the start, 3 on the bench, one left out and we want to sign another one. Has Hobbs lost the plot? Gary has to take some responsibility for yesterday as well as the player.
Please please please and please again Thomas help us, the suggested web blog to go to is rubbish, clunky awful to navigate and join. A. Bigger testament to your fantastic site I can’t give ! Once again, me and many others ask can’t we get this live with your help and fellow bloggers, sadly missed…
i really miss this too
Miss this site a lot
Hey -Thomas would you be open to some of us taking it on and relaunching over after the international break?
Anyone interested?
Thomas are you still out there listening ,we need to resurrect the blog with new blood as some of the more clever ones on here above are willing to take it over,
We’ll we’re on the board with a point today,3 would have been nice, next up it’s the scouser so not much joy to come until we’re through our tough opening fixtures
not scousers ,,it’s Newcastle next, brain needs recharging just like this blog
Comforting to know I’m not the only one who still swings past his old haunt ?
don’t know why we’ve loaned chiquinho out again … everywhere he goes he does good things…
he was good for us in the few prem games before his injury.
Christ we so need this blog back to vent in terror at the current predicament! A vital six games incoming (post Manciti) which will define if we stay up or not in my view.
i just can’t work out what the problem is with Wolves
Sar was awesome against City
Semado is playing some of his best football in a wolves shirt
Dawson is excellent
santiago has been solid
Tori is playing well most of the time especially in a five
Ryan is being touted for liverpool or man u
– how is this defending the worst in the Division
is it because we are not looking after the ball further up the pitch perhaps?
Doyle is good
Gomez is amazing
fck sake … where is this going wrong!??
I think the matrix ate a bad clam or something … it’s a crazy time to be alive …
Like a love torn teen stalking his ex here I am again … please take me back … puuuhhleeeeze …
Thrilled we got our first win … didn’t like being outplayed by them but three points is three points
Almost as good as three vital points was seeing Ruben again and we gave him the adoration he deserves …
I wish hard every night …I wish for Nuno back, I wish for Neves back … and I wish for Wolvesblog back
me too
missing the blog, it’s potentially such a pivotal few weeks coming up it would be wonderful to follow people’s feelings about it on here.
Personally speaking, I’ve backed GON all the way through, right up to the saints match.
But following that im somewhat surprised we didn’t fire him during the break, just to get a fresh pair of eyes and a fresh voice in the dressing room. I hope I’m wrong but I just don’t see this squad stopping enough of the goals, though we pretty good going the other way.
Missing the blog big time, but a great win versus Fulham and out of the bottom 3….wahoo!
Where is everybody posting these days?
I miss this blog so much. The others I’ve found are terrible and full of adverts and pop ups.
I’ve not posted here for quite sometime.. but it’s clear that the pulse of hope still exists …
My heart is beating like a drum to read a blog from Thomas, Ben, Ben or Paddy .. even Amanda is missing the crack ..
Thomas .. please let’s have just a fraction of what we had .. and let’s move forward.. like the old days .. xx
Lord Twix .. xx
Gutted Twixy
The best football blog ever and I.miss just reading the comments let alone posting.
A very sad story..made worse by the systematic destruction of our stay I the Premier league.
GON deserves a medal.
What manager would touch us with a bajji pole?
It’s back to the championship I’m afraid.
Yes i echo the sentiment. In times like this, it would be great to have a place to come together and talk about it. I’d love to see the words “we’re getting the blog back together”.
I don’t know how Gary has maintained his dignity given the media bandwagon to get him sacked- disgraceful journalism by the Beeb.
We could well have won last night with more competent officials and perhaps we are getting payback from our stance on VAR last season.
If we have to sell our last two class players to fund reinforcements in January we are doomed- only Jorgen from the last window has looked anything like PL quality.
Hello folks.
The banter section of the Wolves Rumours site is ok although posts aren’t instantly published ( there’s an editorial team that filters out bad language etc). Might be worth having a go on there. There are some good posters but also some very repetitive ones!
Hi Everyone, Thomas, Ben please bring back this magical blog as a Christmas present. Gary gone, I wish him all the best for the future obviously a hard working, talented and good man. I don’t normally say this, as in the past we have a lot to be grateful for, but Fosun are a disgrace now. They have let our manager and our fans down and have been running the club down for the last three years. Either regain your ambition or get out of our club now…Please!
Popped in here, too, for old times’ sake.
Gary’s just gone and I feel really sorry for the guy. He really had the dice loaded against him methinks.
Interesting how he said that he really struggled to get the lads to think about the basics.
The Ipswich first goal was a real comedy of errors wasn’t it? The second, well… the scorer had all the space in the world to get that one right didn’t he?
And, oh… the chances we missed!
I agree about the new blog… it just doesn’t feel homely and user friendly like this one. We need a friendly place to come, drown our sorrows and lift each other out of the depressing times we see ourselves in.
I really thought we were going to properly become a long term Premiership side and leave those Championship days behind us.
Well… whatever happens… it’s Wolverhampton til I die.
don’t want to go back to the championship but there will be smaller queues at the bar i suppose
Spare a thought for Newark wolves this weekend peeps, being surrounded by all those annoying trees !
Nuno excepted of course
Wolves 2
Trees 1
Excluded of course?
Well .. I’ve put my twopenneth into the mix with Bennie Boy ..
I’ve asked him to throw himself at Thomas’s feet to allow us to put a scaled down version of the blog ..
Let’s see where it takes us ..
Are we going down?
Feeling a lot that way tbh.
I was at Chelsea and felt like they’d already given up
I’m usually the controversial one in my group (I prefer avant garde) but even my mellow yellow friends are done with the situation and done with Fosun
If we are to go down let us get the vitriol in early … make them squirm, embarrass them like they’ve embarrassed us… let them know they are just a footnote in our proud history…. Because WE are the club, WE are the future, WE ARE WOLVES
finally things are looking better
anyone else think Agbadou looks twice as good as Kilman ?
i hope these next two are of a similar ilk …whatever a fucking ilk is ?!
? percent agree with that!
These new signings along with
Agbadou hopefully will return wolves to the days of a brick wall defence.
We’ll it’s been a fair few week since the last post .. and I’m hoping to put sone pressure on Thomas to resurrect this world famous blog ..
There’s a BLOGGERS BALL ON THE SATURDAY PRIOR TO THE BRENTFORD home game (Sun) so I’m hoping that a few die hards will be supporting us at another wonderful Bash ..
It’s a great evening out and there’ll be loads of honorary Bloggers there too .. please please come along ..
Just put a good message to follow and we’ll give you the details necessary..
So .. it’s looking like PL footie next year … let’s chew the fat on the 24 May (or whatever date the Sat is ).
If you’re not sure of the drearily just message.. “ where’s the party “ .. and I’ll reply to you ..
Let’s all look forward to PL footie next year ..
“ Oh Vitor Pereira” .. ???
There is still a pulse here … and where there’s a pulse there’s hope !
Let’s hope one day this blog is resuscitated and that Vitor is backed in the summer.
see you later old bloggers
RIP Diogo.
I’ll second that, great talent with a professional attitude, he helped us out of the division from hell we helped him achieve his ambitions, fair swap.My heart goes out to his wife and kids they must be absolutely devastated.
Anybody use that new blog? It’s locked me out and I can’t get back in, can’t be arsed with it anymore I’ve deleted it, not a patch on this blog anyhow.
I’ve been locked out as well so also deleted the shortcut.
I now use ‘news now’ to get the latest Wolves news, I block any articles from Birmingham papers as they are so biased in their reporting.
https://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/Premier+League/Wolves
Nothing lasts forever, thats what I tell people when we discuss this lastest labour government.
Wishing all fellow bloggers the best for this and future seasons.
It looked like the Blog had ceased to exist, so I deleted the link too.
I found this link to a forum that has been going for a few years now, but I’ve not had a look at it yet. There’s too many adverts, until you join as a member apparently.
https://www.wolvesforum.co.uk/?_pwa=1
The Blog is apparently still alive so can’t resist one last post. All my worst fears and “doom predictions” over the last 4 years are being realised and unfortunately I was right and the happy clappers were wrong. Absolutely appalled by Fosun’s abuse of OUR football club. Definitely on course for at least one relegation and could well be heading for an 80’s style slump of catastrophic proportions.
“We had joy, we had fun, we had 3 seasons in the sun” then the men from Shanghai chose to pull the plug and run. Shi*****s! Wanton vandalism. Huge opportunity wasted,
At least memories of Nuno, Conor Coady, Jota (RIP), Raul. The Doc, Jonny, Big Willy and the rest will remain with us forever.
