VAR prevented us from winning both fixtures against Leicester last season.
The offside against Pedro Neto at Molineux would probably still have been given this season but I don’t think Willy Boly would have been penalised for the handball that meant Leander Dendoncker’s goal at the King Power was chalked off.

Those marginal decisions are important because there’s very little to choose between the sides – a view reinforced by their respective league positions in recent years.
Both clubs are right up there again so a win for either would be a significant result.
Wolves have had a full week to prepare, which should bode well from our perspective with new players still learning their roles.
Leicester
The Foxes have played twice since we beat Palace last Friday, securing two brilliant wins against Leeds and then Braga in the Europa League, scoring 4 goals in each.
Jamie Vardy is still the main man and it was little surprise he was rested last night to keep him fresh for the Premier League, where he’s already netted seven times to take up a familar place towards the top of the goalscoring charts.

If he does get on the scoresheet Sunday it will be a collectors item, as I don’t think he’s scored against Wolves before, but correct me if I’m wrong.
Their rapid start to the season is all the more impressive given the injuries they’ve had to contend with to key personnel like Perreira, Soyuncu and most recently Jonny Evans, who may sit this one out.
High profile wins at Man City and Arsenal underline they’re a force to be reckoned with and like Wolves, the only really aberration was a heavy defeat to West Ham.
Brendan Rogers is doing a great job, which is hardly a surprise given that he’s been successful wherever he’s been. They’ll be targeting the top four and will be there or thereabouts again, having somehow contrived to throw it away last season.

The home end
Some views lifted from the pre-match thread on the Foxes Talk forum.
Massive game. Could put us top of the league before a well needed rest and a huge game against Liverpool. I’d actually go as far as saying season defining. We’ve done it away, let’s do it at home. This could genuinely make us a serious top 4 contender. Forget winning it again, for now. Games like this are what we have to win to be up there.
This is the game we’ll learn the most from. Rodgers has performed far better than I thought so far but if we beat them we’ve properly turned the corner. The onus is on us in this one and they’re obviously incredibly belligerent – I’d be hesitant to play 352/343 because it’ll suit them. Injuries might force us into it though.
I would expect a “chess match” feel to this game, a bit like an old school Serie A game on Channel 4 for those old enough to remember. It may well have 0-0 written all over it, though to be honest I don’t think that’s a bad result. Obviously I want us to win but with the way we are playing, we are going to pick up lots of points this season. So as long as we keep picking up points, be it draws or wins I think that’s only good for our final league position.
I never like playing Wolves, feel that our game plan plays into their hands. We definitely need to be cagey and try and force them to come out more.
This will be a proper test against a side who don’t come out and love to play a direct style on the counter attack at pace. Most the sides we’ve beaten in the league are sides who like to press us (except Burnley) so it’ll be interesting to see how we come against a side intending to make it a cagey affair for us. Villa and west ham both got joy with that intention.
Wolves
I would be surprised if we didn’t see the same team that accounted for Palace with a degree of comfort.

It was an exciting debut from Ait-Nouri and Semedo was also very effective. But that narrow Palace shape helped them so this will be a much greater test. Our wingbacks are so important to the system so we need them affecting the game.
Neves and Moutinho have been rotated a few times, but you’d hope it’s Ruben that nails down a consistent place if we’re trying to build a team for the foreseeable future. Both he and Dendoncker were excellent last week.
Confidence shouldn’t be in short supply for the front three, so hopefully, they can get in the game and do the damage again. I don’t think Raul has scored against Leicester yet so hopefully it’s another victim checked off the list.
Predictions
Congratulations to Zarco, Stafford Road Steve, Matt Cook, Pauluswolf, Wolvo Dave, oldandwise, CHEESEBURGER OF DEATH, Happy Wanderer, Dandy Wolf, WokyWolf, Mark G Davies, Tipton Exile, The Dodgster, Liz, GoWolves, Mosman Wolf, robc306 and Deptford Wolf who all got a maximum by correctly predicting the score against Palace.
Graham from Horsham has the outright lead in the overall table at the end of Gameweek 7.
As always if you’d like to join in, simply leave your prediction for this game in the comment section below, which is where you’ll find my best guess.
Up The Wolves!

Games like this made for us – another tight one.
Could this game prove another ‘Coming of age’ moment for Max Kilman?
With JamieVardy filling his boots, I think the result will depend on how our new look defence copes with his flair and pace.
Conor Coady, for all his abilities, is not the fastest in the World, and Big Willy is sometimes caught out by opposition fliers.
Max has the pace to cope better with the Leicester lightning counter attacks.
But has he the experience and nous?
It’s going to be tight, but I fancy us to get at least a point.
Got to watch barnes on the left linking with vardy through the middle.
I think coady has vardy sorted but semedo and boly worry me as semedo pushes on a bit too much and leaves boly exposed and he isn’t the quickest as we know.
We do play well against them but i do see this as a game of tactics and old brendan has got his hat on at the moment but then again so has nuno
lets see who who has the player who will unlock the possible stalemate
They have barnes who will get a chance down the left vardy will be tied up by coady and we have podence , neto and raul all of who could unravel their defence on their own …. so that’s 3-1
It doesn’t need saying that this is probably going to be one of Wolves sternest challenges so far this season. (I regard the results of both teams against West Ham as an aberration)
Leicester ‘s results of late have been impressive and I agree with those on Leicester ‘s talk forum that this is a significant game for both sides.
I am hoping for, rather than expecting a win. But with Nuno ‘s tactical expertise and the continuing development of the squad I think we maybe celebrating a close fought win.
I believe both teams have progressed to make this game is one for top six rather than best of the rest! I do agree it will initially be a cagey affair, particularly in the first half. Same team for me and a struggling Trarore as a sub, not withstanding that he nearly scored last week.
Time to really stamp out authority in the PL and this is the game to do it.
Win this and the international break will be far more bearable!
Would hope we continue where we left off, much better with wingers.
interesting to see if Adama gets a start but current form of both Podence and Neto may say no.
going for a draw
Yes Thomas, agree that Rogers is a good manager – as you say – he’s been successful wherever he’s been. Agree pretty much with Doogooders summation on what game may turn on although Vardy isn’t our only problem.
Letting my head rule my heart. If we get anything out of this one it’ll be a bonus.
Hopefully another good performance after the Palace win we should have won the last two games but for var third time lucky and var is quite.
Thanks to Sky this is now being played on my birthday meaning I have a stronger than usual preference for not being made to feel miserable.
As good as Leicester are I have faith the boys won’t let me down. We’ve tightened up defensively since West Ham and seem to be finding a groove going forward.
We’ll need to put all that together to emerge with a win from this one, but I’d be happy enough with a point.
Raul and Vardy to end their respective dry spells in this fixture.
Very balanced game. We are getting better though… go for a draw and hope for a win
The risk for me is that with the wing backs getting too far upfield they will exploit the spaces between them and Boly and Kidman .Semedo is not strong defensively .
This is certainly a big test of our credentials for top 6 .Given how well they are playing I fear the worst to be honest but hope I am wrong .
As you say Thomas but for VAR we would have done the double over them last season and I’m backing the Wolves to gobble up the Foxes on Sunday especially if Neves plays like did against Palace.
Leicester City 1
Wolverhampton Wanderers 3
My MacMillan Cancer Support fundraising is now up to £2,575 – and with Gift Aid it’s over £3,000 – so thank you everyone. Your generosity is incredible. We all know, or knew, someone affected by this horrible disease and MacMillans so a fabulous job.
Hi Bedders- great work raising that money . Much love mate
Looking forward to this one should be good game against the only two realistic teams that could break the top 6 this season.
As well as Ait -Nouri played against Palace I expect Marcal come in for his extra defensive know how plus I dont think we will play as high as we did as that plays into Leicesters hands.
Hmmmmmmm.
Might be a bit of a struggle to get 3 points from this one.
But ……
Agree with the sentiments above, think it’ll be a very tight game, wouldn’t be surprised to see a low scoring draw or a narrow win either way to be honest. In my opinion, I think Wolves might just have the edge this weekend based on, as you mentioned, the fact that Leicester have had to play midweek.
Will be a really interesting match to watch as I think both sides will definitely be looking to avoid defeat more than they will be chasing victory, based on how closely they’re matched. I think where the battle could be won is out wide, both sides love to attack wide and with real pace, it could come down to who’s more effective there.
We published a piece yesterday about Leicester’s ‘secret weapon’, Harvey Barnes. Whilst Vardy, Maddison and co, often grab the headlines, I’ve been really impressed with Barnes since the restart, so I think he’ll be one to keep an eye on as he very often seems to go under the radar!
If anyone’s interested in having a read I’ll leave it here:
https://latestfooty.net/2020/11/06/leicesters-secret-weapon/
This has got a low scoring draw written all over it. I am therefore going for a 9-3 victory for WWFC . Double hat trick from Raul. A goal a piece for Podence and Neto plus an own goal from an escaped Ant eater called Dorothy who just so happened to stray on the pitch after falling from the under carriage of a jumbo jet on route to Guatemala. VAR reviewed it but due to the fact they are all massively stupid in that office at Stockley Park failed to spot an Ant eater had scored the 9th goal. After the match Brendan Roger’s said ‘ Was it me or did an Ant eater score the 9th goal ? I think I am coming down with a virulent strain of Covid 19 which has made me go mad’. Nuno said ‘ It is the first time in my life I have witnessed anything like that. But I suppose it was only a matter of time before a giant Ant eater fell on to a football pitch from a jumbo jet and scored a goal.’ Foxes 3 WWFC 9.
Thats typical… I was going to say nine three .
Well I was mulling over it for a good while and in the end I thought either 0-0 or 9-3. So I went 9-3.
The law of averages states the Anteater thing was going to happen eventually. Why not Sunday?
After watching the Foxes last night it had me reminiscing of that lovely all day session in Cafe Viana in the main square in Braga. It also got me thinking how much on the “up” they are. I’d take a draw now with us being away. I’ve an uneasy feeling about this one. Robbed by VAR last season and they’re due to “do us” sometime. Hope I’m wrong here
Yeh, I don’t want to be negative Steve, but your scoreline looks feasible to me, so I’m going along with you. A Wolves defeat I fear, by the odd goal in 3.
I think that time has clouded your memory of Braga Steve. It was pissing down all day and we got fuckin’ drenched when the roof of a canopy gave way under the deluge.
We then got attacked by the local plod outside the ground and women and children were treated like criminals. Hope we never have to go there again – fuckin’ shithole of a place!!
Difficult game on paper – on the pitch that counts though!!
We have been on a reasonable run of late and would be a shame to not get something out of this game.
I think that as the season progresses we are only going to get better with maybe a blip or two along the way.
No dart board this week, just pure bloodymindedness.
3 points heading back to Wolverhampton.
Leicester is a worry but keep vardy quiet we should be fine jiminez and podence
Agree with my fellow bloggers. Vardy is a danger man, but we can’t just watch him. Tight game, with neither side wanting to lose, so going with a draw for this one.
That way we should get 3 points!
Any news on Dorset, Marnhull?
Hi Wolf… On the mend slowly, but still poorly. Not heard back from Jill, this week… Due a follow up. I usually do a summary of the match for him.
Thanks for asking, will mean a lot to Rob.
Cheers. Steve
Aka Marnhull Wolves
We don’t need to hit the top 2-3 until around March- April so although it’s very tempting to predict a win and a possible top spot before the international break, I’m going for a draw.
This isn’t the game to push up with loads of possession because Leicester have made the counter attack their own recently.
Nuno will keep our unbeaten run going and I really hope we nick the win but I think this will be a stalemate but another building block put in place.
Come on you wolves
Their results suggest they are more comfortable playing away from home than at the Crisp Packet, but I don’t see them coming out all gung-ho given that they know our strengths and that this could be a season defining match for both clubs. So a stalemate for me – but I’m generally wrong !
Tuff one, but we shall overcome…
Hope for a win, take a draw, predict a defeat.
Any room on the fence for another? A massive challenge for Max and the new wingbacks and whatever the result we will be the better for this challenge. Definitely Neves and the Donk in midfield. We can win but Leicester are looking very impressive- but I cannot predict a loss for our lads.
I watched Leicester vs Braga last night and what looked like a really good scoreline was slightly flattering when you look at the level of last nights opponent.
Braga were not a patch on the team that played us last season albeit we lost one and drew the return, but we played them off the park in both games, it was only the lightning fast winger that turned Bennett leaving him for dead to fire home a peach of a goal at Molineux.
In the return we came back from being 2-0 if memory serves and then took a 3-2 lead much to the delight of all us poor rain sodden fans, but then switched off in the last 15 allowing them to equalise. How we didn’t score in that last 15 minutes beggars belief, we were all over them like a rash with the silky footy.
So I fancy us on Sunday as we are both teams on a good winning streak, but I do believe we can nick it as each week our guys are gelling that little bit more.
Leicester 0
Wolves 2
But I believe a really cracking game of football should be on offer to see us into the International break on a high.
I’m with Cheesy on this one.
We gonna cream ’em.
All the talk about their Vardy/Barnes combo is just that, talk.
They are more scared of us, and our lightning quick attack, with our warp speed, greased lightning sub chomping at the bit waiting to give their ex shit defender Evans twisted blood.
And if he doesn’t play, we’ll know the true reason, scaredy cat!!
We owe them from two years ago, when we was robbed, and even more so from last season, when they obviously bribed the mindless var idiots.
We shall run riot, give them the pasting they so richly deserve, but I don’t want to predict anything as rash as 9-3, so I’ll go for an unusually modest 5-1.
FOwb
I see a tight game with an early Raul header being the difference.
Tough game and would quite happy if we get any points.
Time to sit on a fence (again).
There’s a case for a win lose or draw in this one. I’m even unsure if it will be a tight cagey affair or swashbuckling rampaging performance so I’m going to sit on the fence.
Very excited for this one. With out current form one would think we have what it takes to for all three points but the foxes also have put up 4 in both of their last two outings.
I’m a little nervous honestly and hope to see the Wolves that tore apart Crystal rather than the cautious Wolves that played Newcastle. Apart from that Raul vs Vardy will be a fun one to see. 0-0 has been the scoreline the last two times we have met and I expect to see a low scoreline in this one as well. 1-1 is my prediction with a goal from a Raul header assisted by Podence and a Vardy Penalty. A draw in this one would be a positive result with the string of tough upcoming games. COYW, prove me wrong with a Victory.
I see both sides being cautious in this article one. I’ll take a draw. Foxes on fire atm.
Go Wolves!!!
P.S. happy birthday Thomas 🙂
I will share my prediction after the game because it wouldn’t be fair to those who predicted before me that those to follow will get the benefit of my incredible insight possible inside sources.
Off topic. It’s fun to watch Donald desperately making excuses so that for the rest of his life he can claim that he was not rejected by the American people and his win was instead stolen from him by the “deep state”.
Lest we forget. A photo from a few years back now.
That’s a remarkable painting Brompto’. Almost like a photo, only cameras hadn’t been invented back then.
And this was your house
That’s not you……
🙂
X
Back in 2001 lol.
That your retirement suit??
Not quite. I served for another 6 years after that.
I see Biden is in charge now lol.
So hard to call this one. Leicester are scoring goals freely and not really leaking any. I’d take a draw from this, but a win would be unbelievable!!
On the face of it, our toughest test so far. However, after the Palace showing, we seem to be better equipped to win it than any we’ve played so far.
Fascinating tactical battle, for sure, but I don’t see either team playing it too cagey as both attacks have clicked into gear and both managers will fancy their forwards to do the job for them.
Marcal back in training, but can he unseat Ait Nouri after the youngster’s MOTM performance last week . Big decision for Nuno.
Firstly congratulations to Bedders for raising such a large amount for such a worthwhile cause.
On my first visit to Leicester City on December 27th 1971 the match was played at Filbert Street; a stadium which some called downright ugly and cramped but I thought rather quaint. A second visit soon followed about 3 weeks later for a midweek FA cup replay following a 1-1 draw at Molineux.
One of the highlights when travelling to away games all those years ago was the first sight of floodlight pylons on arriving on enemy soil so to speak, whether by road or rail. Unfortunately the towering pylons that illuminated so many unforgettable moments (for example those at Elland Road were actually taller than Nelsons Column) have largely disappeared these days.
Upon arrival at Filbert Street in 1971 the pylons seemed tiny by comparison to most and barely above the height of the stand roof behind the one goal and along one side of the pitch.
For the Christmas league fixture I was accompanied by the younger brother of a girl from Upper Gornal I was courting at the time. His name was John Mills and I would guess he was about 13 and this was his first away game.
I booked our coach seats with Don Everall at their booking agent in Sedgley – a chemist called Eggingtons right in the Bull Ring from where the traditional Everall orange coach picked us up. His understandable excitement was compounded by the Wolves’ form at the time winning 7 and drawing 3 in 10 fixtures. The Leicester game was 7th in that sequence and with Derek Dougan and recently introduced John Richards causing mayhem in opposition defences aided and abetted by Waggy, Mike “The Barrel” Bailey, Ken Hibbit we were confident of a victory to maintain the pressure on Leeds, Liverpool and Derby County at the top of the pile.
So it proved, an absorbing contest ended with Wolves winning 2-1 with The Doog and Frank Munro netting. How a fraction under 38,000 folks sardined into that stadium was nothing short of a miracle. Equally how we all exited without getting crushed into pulp was also miraculous.
The atmosphere on the coach journey home went into orbit. “Is it always like this” I was breathlessly asked. “No” I replied.
To highlight this just 3 weeks later – we lost the cup replay 2-0.
Now here is the rub – Wolves have not won a league game of any description at Leicester since that December day in 1971 virtually 50 years ago. Its surely time this abysmal record was put right lads…………..! How about it on Sunday?
BOG
I can’t even remember my last phone number.
Some folk on here may not be surprised to hear that.
Big test this one, for both sides. But they look more the finished article than us just at the moment and have been scoring for fun. So I have to predict a Foxes victory
Tight game, a goal at most in it. They owe us from last year so I’ll go 1-0 to us.
I can see goals in this one and hopefully of the Wolf variety. Let’s go for a repeat of the 4-3 win after being 3-0 down!.
But I ‘ll temper that with a degree of reality.
It seems there is something of a wind up by Leicester on twitter who refer to the Wolves game as their second against Portuguese opponents this week . Shall we wear our 3rd strip ? Certainly the 4 Portuguese out of 11 in our line up would feel right at home.
Cheeky ******s, really hope we come out on top.
I had a premonition for a 4 – 1 Wolves win but consider a draw is more likely and as it would be good to have another clean sheet going for 0 – 0
We’ll need to take our chances and hope Lady Luck and Lord VAR are playing for us to win this. But it is possible.
Old and wise….
I’m afraid to say that Lord VAR tomorrow takes the form of Stuart Atwell…. so any help you hope for there I’m afraid, you may as well discount….
That said , and following the robbery that took place there last season (Boly’s armpit) … well not need it (VAR).
We’ve become watertight in defence, resolute and incisive in midfield, now have balanced and attack minded wing backs and three front men that will tear another orifice in Leicester’s rearguard… especially if Evans is playing…..
“One nil to the wanderers… one nil to the wanderers” …..
Good morning Lord Twix, thanks for your comment. It’s good to have your confidence in our almost perfectly balanced team. I’m looking forward to the match tomorrow even more, and with your reassurance that it’s in our own hands, well, feet (we don’t want any suspected handball), I reckon my 2-0 is certainly possible. Cheers !
Definitely possible oaw…
This is the hardest game of the season so far. Think the result could very much depend on Nuno getting the selection for who plays in front of Kilman correct. Personally happy with either Ait Nouri or Marcal but then I haven’t got to make the decision.
Tight game but we owe them one after last season
Let my self down last week, forgot to predict, defo’ wont catch the front runners if I do that very much. This week will be a walk in the park or should I say The Kingpower.
Great work Bedders and great post Bog, I am buggered if I can remember girls way back when and defo’ not there brothers names.
Stay Positive, stay safe everyone.
Really looking forward to this one. It would be a massive 3 points if we can win this, especially with the tricky run we’re heading into. Neto to score!
Hoping we get exactly what we deserve from the fixture this season with no Stockley shenanigans. Have to put us down for a narrow win.
The palace game felt like a significant victory. We are clearly seeing good coaching from Nuno and the staff, as the new recruits look better each time they play. We have a big test of our development in the shape of Leicester. But as the first 11 becomes more consistent, I get much more confident we can get results.
Ait-Nouri deserves to show that he can consistently perform as the first choice LWB. And Kilman looks like he’s a sure starter now. Leander is also taking his game to the next level. Indispensable to how we want to play in my opinion.
Even if we don’t get a result, we now know we are capable of getting results when not at our best, and shouldn’t worry about the rest of the season. Utd could still be stuck on 7 points by the end of today. Let’s continue to create a new top 4 wolves!!
This will be our toughest test so far this season. Leicester are a really good counter attacking team and we will have to be at our best to get a result.
Score draw is my guess.
Bout time we did them. Don’t know why, but don’t like Rogers.
I’m not going to bask in the glory of one correct prediction – for much longer!
We are due a high-scoring win but I don’t think this will be it, despite history.
I would love a win but will settle for a draw.
On paper a very challenging test for Wolves. Leicester were lucky to land Rodgers from Celtic. If he’d waited a bit he would be at Chelsea now. Rodgers is one of the best coaches around. So is Nuno.
Like Leicester, we’re better playing away. It suits our counter attacking game plan, so I am optimistic. I’m going for a repeat of our thrilling win two seasons ago but maybe not the same margin. Surely Traore will get meaningful time on the pitch? If journalists generally agree he is our best player, why isn’t he playing more? Spurs will always play Kane. I’m backing Traore to run away with it for us with a couple of goals after we are level at 1/1.
Just watching Ipswich v Pompey in the FA Cup. Lambert v Jackett. Pompey’s first goal an absolute carbon copy of Newcastle’s goal against us the other day. You’d have thought someone would have watched and learned how not to set up a defensive wall.
Well the last time I went to watch the boys play Leicester away we won 4-1 that was in 2007 on a balmy May evening. Don’t think we will see that repeated, however I think there is goals in this game, I’m going for a point.
Yay! I went to that game on the train. Andy Keogh inspired win. And we stopped off pre match next stop up Melton Mowbray for beer and delicious pork pies!
Vardy is dangerous, yes, but that’s mostly against defences that play a high line. That’s something that we certainly don’t do with Cody generally able to sweep up against speedy forwards including those that resemble an emaciated weasel. The main danger may come from elsewhere therefore.
We were well on top both games last season and there’s no reason to think tomorrow will be different.
Crystal Palace moved ahead of Wolves according to the BBC based on alphabetical order.
You would think games played would be used first.
It’s because palace have scored more goals than us. They have 12 to our 8. GD are both 0.
I don’t think I’ve been to an away match at Leicester since our win at Filbert Street on the way to lifting the FA Cup in 1960. We were planning to have a drink before the game but found to our cost that the pubs closed at 2.00 in those days so we missed out.
Apart from that game I’ve always thought of the Foxes as something of a bogey team for us, we’ve had a number of disappointing results both home and away. I’m hoping that this game will level up the stats a bit. The defence have done well recently but may be vulnerable to something creative. Am going though for another shut out and I can see us scoring a couple. Let’s hope I’m right.
COYW
This season is still really hard to predict anything. I predicted a loss last time and we played and we played well so I’ll go for another defeat. 2-1.
Would be great to make a statement to the so called top 6. Sick and tired of pundits etc raving on about Chelsea, Arsenal Spurs and Co. Hope we stuff em.
I predicted 0-0 for the Palace game and was happy to be wrong. Being superstitious where football is concerned , it’s 0-0 again for me. I might be right or we might pinch it with a late goal in which case I’ll still be happy.
Seriously, we need to concentrate and not switch off when defending, that’s the key to a clean sheet, Leicester and Wolves are top six contenders.
Would not surprise me to see Troare start this one and even Marcel. 50p each way this one will go 2-1.
Brilliant to see social media up in arms over Leeds Bamford goal VAR offside by a few mm of his hand. I went on the HYS and said I am a Wolves fan. Get used to it. Strangely the BBC haven’t taken my post down yet.
For pity’s (clean :-)) sake, what IS going on?
We’ve gone from this, halfway through last season:
https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league-should-not-use-var-offside-forensic-decisions-ifab-a4323266.html
Extract: ?Lukas Brud [?general secretary of Ifab] did not address the decisions taken in the Premier League specifically but said officials on the pitch and monitoring cameras should not become “too forensic” over offsides or any other decisions.
To this, in September:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54321867
?Extract: ?Football’s rulemakers, the International Football Association Board (Ifab), tightened up the handball rule in time for this season, defining the boundary between the shoulder and the arm as the bottom of the armpit.
The bottom of the armpit? Are they for real?
The rules of the game (before they started ******* around with them, that is) were formed to be applied in real-time with the naked eye. This sort of thing has GOT to end.
?Mourinho’s recent comment “I miss my old football” really chimed with me. So do I Jose, so do I.
HYS, Cheese? I hate acronyms probably because I can never work them out.
I’m sorry to butt in, but it stands for Have Your Say, which is a comments facility on the BBC website (hopefully this post gets through moderation…!)
Wolves continue to improve resulting in a tough, hard fought victory.
WGH!
Nice job Bedders… at this rate you’ll
Have five grand by the time of your Christmas dip
Amazing recall once more from BOG
Or did you keep a dog eared diary all these years? Whatever it’s a Great reminder of floodlight pylons .
I don’t think Leicester will be so accommodating as Palace… they are playing well and now so are we.
I’d take a draw but feeling a bit queasy. about this one.
Could/ should be a Cracking game and I’d swallow a defeat if it demonstrates that we can go toe to toe
Hoping for better of course
OODCL
A really interesting match that will give us a spot check on where this squad currently sits. This one game will not decide who finishes higher at the end of the season, but should give confidence and optimism to the winners. A draw also not bad for either team.
Hope for a win but
Leceister are playing well so this will be a tough assignment.
Looking for Traore to play a more prominent role in this game.
A draw will be a good result.
Morning all…..and a very happy birthday to Thomas.
Leicester are on a bit of a roll, but Wolves aren’t too shabby either. Fingers crossed then for the men in gold and black (burgundy?). It should be an absorbing encounter.
Seems like there are currently three contenders for the best team outside the London/North West power zones. I would add Southampton to the two teams playing in this game.
Of the three I agree with Nuno that there are a few joints in the system that were untested by Palace but likely to develop a leak or two in this game.
Nothing that will not be fixed by this excellent coaching team, just needs a little more time.
We have probably the toughest run over the next ten games of any team, but Nuno will keep us competitive and we will emerge much nearer the finished article.
Just gotta stay right behind Nuno and all the team (some will dip) and enjoy the journey.
This may be a season defining match, and then again, maybe not. Leicester are an excellent team and Vardy is overdue in scoring against us, so yet another nail biting fixture. Being able to get the squad together over the past few weeks has had the effect we needed and we are starting to look more integrated as a team. Now we have more absences due to international games which most top teams could well do without, but Hey!
I’m obviously hoping for a good, clear win, but we don’t seem to do that very often; we have a preponderance for one goal leads which is not too good for the old ticker, but that’s the nature of the game. I suspect we may lose this one but will go for a three two win for ourselves, hoping for a good day…
Yes, this will define progress of new player/system integration. Leicester pose many dangers but Wolves possess the solutions to those.
The dream of Fabio leaving the bench for a winner is maybe not going to happen today, but never say never…
What a difference a week makes. Now going into this game full of confidence after a lively display last week. Should be right, two good sides
Nearly forgot my prediction!
Won’t be an easy game but Wolves to win.
Happy Birthday Thomas & hope you have a great day.

Happy birthday Thomas
COMBs!
I’d be happy with a draw but not feeling good about this game. Leicester have looked good in general…
If we go at them with pace I can see us creating havoc and a couple of first half goals.
Need Conor to keep Vardy quite which I’m sure he will

Too hard to call.
Come on Wolves!
How embarrassing and corrupt.
Sky pundits are arguing about a players arm being up in a natural running motion, then they cut to Stockley park and the VAR referees are arguing about the bloody same.
If they don’t agree with it, what bloody chance has anyone else got, and the ref watching it in slow motion, what’s that all about.
But, I’m not bitter.!
Okay, VAR aside, and Casper’s save, we weren’t much cop were we.
Probably get mullered for this, but thought it was a poor game. Too defensive, too many backwards and sideways passes. Jimmy not with it at the moment. Very frustrating…
So, dodgy VAR decision (in my view) and a world class save.
Disappointed.
No mullering from me. Agree with your points and found it a deflating performance to watch. The overall season might still be a good one, but that was a let down. I’m sure I’ll be more reflective and balanced later on or tomorrow.
Ridiculous VAR decision and even more ridiculous Casper save apart, we didn’t really deserve anything today.
We are not the Wolves we know and love this season.
So many frustrating performances.
Very true- but let’s not forget we were narrowly beaten by a team managed by a very astute Manager who are now top of the league. We are currently a WIP introducing new players to a changed system. Us fans can be guilty of thinking we are world beaters after a couple of wins. Give Leicester some credit and if Lady Luck had been on our side we could have nicked it.
A poor VAR decision but we were also poor. Once again, we started too slowly. Roy Keane summed it up perfectly “ wolves lacked ambition and got what they deserved “ . A solid start to the season points wise so for that we must be grateful on the back of Doherty and Jota leaving and the team regrouping. I said before the palace game that the 3 fixtures versus them, Leicester and Saints will tell us a lot about where the season might end up. My money is still on top half, maybe threaten Europe but no more than that. Until Nuno becomes more adventurous I fear we will continue to be nearly men but I don’t think it’s in his character to be focussed on anything other than trying to ensure a clean sheet as his number one priority.
Even I, NotsraTimus did not see that penalty coming. So that means it wasn’t a real penalty.
This game shows that you can’t read too much into one game’s performance, either for the team or a new player.
That penalty actually ruined the game for me. I lost interest realizing that we would have very little chance of winning.
I think the commentators said we never win if we actually give up a goal. (Maybe he said we always lose). I guess it would be hard to win when giving up a goal when we only scored 8 all season.
The Sky commentator actually said that Wolves have one of the best records of winning after having gone a goal down.
But I think the only one who saw that penalty coming was the referee after he watched it again IN SLOW MOTION.
Even Stockley Park couldn’t agree on whether it was or not.
I think we were getting the Leicester commentary and this year we have only tied once against Newcastle when we were scored upon.
Very small sample set, though.
What I found interesting is that there was no real attacking midfielder on the bench, just in case we needed to get aggressive near the end of the game.
Not sure if it just the team style doesn’t suit AMs or he doesn’t feel they are ready but somehow Fabio is.
the penalty will be ripped to pieces on motd …but we didnt really deserve a lot on that performance did we and thats what the conclusion will be
