The amount of international football being crammed into an already condensed season is ridiculous.
Having put these three games in the rearview mirror there’s another two to come in November. Madness.

You can well imagine the frustration Nuno is feeling, losing all those valuable days at Compton to work on shape and fine-tune the details.
The performances have been scratchy at best so far which is almost certainly a consequence of trying to integrate new players into a new shape in a shorter period of time.
In previous years, I’d have backed us to set up camp at Elland Road and frustrate them with our defensive organisation. In the current climate, it feels like anything could happen.
Leeds
Like everyone else, I’ve been impressed with what I’ve seen of Marelco Bielsa’s team.
I did wonder how they’d cope with the transition from the Championship where they routinely enjoyed 75% possession and dictated games.
It seemed fanciful to think they’d be able to operate the same way in the Premier League, but they’ve already stood toe-to-toe with the best and imposed their style of play.

What they haven’t come up against yet is a team like Wolves who are more than content not seeing the ball for long periods and setup to break when the opposition overcommit.
In that sense it should be an interesting clash of styles and a good benchmark of where both teams are in their respective development.
They spent big on Valencia forward Rodrigo and Real Sociedad defender Diego Llorente, while Brazilian winger Raphinha has also arrived late in the day. Like Wolves, they have the challenge of integrating all these players while keeping performances consistent.
So far, they’ve largely relied on the team that got them promoted with Bamford scoring the goals, Kalvin Phillips running the midfield and even Helder Costa showing he’s got something to offer at this level.
Costa increasingly didn’t look up to the standard required at Wolves, but in a more attack-minded, possession-based side he seems a different proposition to me. Good luck to him.
It doesn’t seem like Barry Douglas is getting a game these days. It’d be a shame if the Scot didn’t manage single PL appearance having helped two teams make it to this level but it underlines the cut-throat nature of football.

The home end
A few comments from a pre-match thread on the Marching on Together forum:
I think this will be a stern test of our credentials, Wolves are a good side who have, despite the moneybags tag, surpassed expectations as a Prem side so far.
Not so confident now with two centre halves injured, including Cooper.
Difficult one this coming after Internationals break and as usual a couple of injuries for us to worry about, both teams play open attacking football so it’s bound to be a 0-0 but I’m going for a 3-2 Costa and Rodrigo and a late winner from Shack.
1-1 Klich. Was going for a win, but think Wolves will be quick on the break.
Another tough one this but I’ll go for another Leeds win and whilst I know we never get our fair share of pens it might be different this year with the new interpretation and VAR so: 3-2 Klich, Rodrigo, Bamford.
Wolves
While I don’t think the contribution Ruben Vinagre made in his 3 years should be underestimated, it was a sign of intent moving him on to Olympiakos.

He looks like a weak link so move him on. Ruthless. I was up for giving him a run in the side to see if he could reach a higher standard, but clearly Nuno didn’t feel the same.
I think what we do defensively in this game will define the result so hopefully, Marcal is back to give us a bit more experience and physical presence.
If not maybe Ait-Nouri or Hoever will be given a full debut? Both look exciting prospects and it’s nice to have the luxury of options.
Kilman did well in the back three and Saiss was solid enough at wingback, but that felt like putting a bandage on a short term problem, rather than a longer term solution. I’d be surprised if it was repeated on Monday.
Further forward I’d expect Dendoncker to retain his place, probably at the expense of Moutinho and Traore may also have to be content with a place on the bench. Regardless of how things are going on the pitch, I still have to rub my eyes in disbelief at the players we have the luxury of leaving out.
Predictions
Well done to Eintracht Silvaballs, joe public, WishFart and Wolfman Jack who all correctly predicted the 1-0 scoreline against Fulham.
Plenty of others got the outcome right to collect 2 points and it’s MILDENHALL WOLF who leads the overall table after Gameweek 4.
As always if you’d like to join in, simply leave your prediction for this game in the comment section below, which is where you’ll find my best guess.
Up The Wolves!

It’s harder than ever to second guess what will happen, but a high scoring draw feels as good a bet as any.
I’d like to see us being compact and difficult to beat to prove this team still possesses those important attributes. That will be tough against such an adventurous Leeds outfit of course.
Failing that, at the other end it would be good to see the front three doing some damage and Neto proving again he can fill the void left by Jota’s departure.
Hi Thomas, just a thought. Would it be possible to have a warning box of bad language that we could tick, so people who are offended by our match day choice of words could pass by a post and not be offended.
Great post as usual Thomas, hope all is good with you and yours. Regards Baz.
If we where playing these in the style of last two seasons team i would really fancy us to win but as we are trying to implement a new style with hardly any time on the training pitch this could be difficult but they do have a few defensive issues so I would start Adama
Tough game and if we are not right on it we could well be suckerpunched early on. And whats the odds of Costa scoring?
1-1
Whatever the odds, it’s worth your last quid.
These internationals are an absolute joke . How the f##k are they even taking place ? Its not like people might contract the virus , they actually are getting it and then bringing it back . Fuck sake … we’ve got 5 players beening suspect now.
Its so stupid .
As for Mondays game … Leeds are good but we are better . We haven’t shown it yet but we will
U T W and much love Bedders
Have to agree this international cobblers ,the domestic squashed up programme and covid chucked in for good measure must be driving nuno nuts.
The risks involved on all fronts is just too much and something will break at some point.
We have little chance of getting anything substantial done with new integration and new strategy if this carries on .
why they can’t suspend the international programme for six months or so considering the risks involved is beyond me but this is typical of the ruling bodies as the only thing they are bothered about is sponsorship and money.
If ronnie can catch it anyone can !
Look how many of our squad go away to international duty look how many were mixing with ronnie it only takes one to bring it back and slip through the net regardless of the precautions put in place and its curtains .
Bloody ridiculous !
So filthy leeds … they have got some good lads but they do think they are better than they actually are and as we all know a new team always catches some with their pants down first time around so i would hope by now nuno has seen enough to have worked them out.
They do over commit and thats where we will catch them out so its traore on the bench and rope a dope for sixty minutes then wham get in.
A really tricky one to predict. We have little current form and Leeds have started really well. So, counterintuitively, I’m going for us to strangle the life out of Leeds and sneak a win.
Leeds being “bigged up” by all and sundry. They’ve made a decent start which is commendable, but then again so did Norwich last season and we know how that ended up. We’ll be ok here I think so I’m going for a routine win and a clean sheet
Will be goals, they are strong in attack but weak defensively Need to make a mark and get an away win, besides which I have never liked Leeds all the way from the 70’s.
Once again, Clive No Filters here.
My favorite team to despise and detest from the 70’s, “we all fuckin’ ‘ate Leeds!!”
Their sheer arrogance, especially when they wore their boy scout garter things, is something I will take to my grave.
Forget the shit and villa, Leeds will always be top of the admittedly big heap of teams I want us to stuff.
They had some brilliant players, some of the best in the country at the time, but they sure let you know it as well.
Bastards.
It has been a pleasure watching us beat them the last three times we have met, and I expect nothing less on Monday.
We are due an away win, and they are due a down to earth, welcome to the Prem, stuffing.
And I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments about the internationals.
Two league games in a week is stupid enough, but to throw a friendly in as well?
Beggars belief.
Maybe it would be a good idea if the so called top six joined some kind of European, or even World, super league.
They would soon come crying back, after being soundly thrashed week in, week out, by the even bigger teams.
Imagine donkey McGuire, with his speed and turning circle of an oil tanker, trying to stop some of them young wizz kids from abroad?
Changing subject, I am sorely tempted to buy a plane ticket to come over there for the holiday season, just to witness first hand, Bedders in the Buff, freeze his already tiny nuts, in the ocean!!
I hope someone gets a good video of the event, it will go viral!!
Good luck, Dave.
We all love ya, Bedders
And y’all know my predicted score.
I love the idea of chucking man u and Liverpool out of the prem . I would not miss them at all . The league would be better off . They don’t own football. They should just fuck off .
Excellent idea
Who you calling tiny nuts you bloody Yank!
Leeds press hard and are reputedly one of the fittest teams. Although I always grumbled with the style of last season of playing organized and defensively (and relegation form results) in the first half, this game is crying out for that strategy. Hold firm against Leeds early on and the destroy them on the break later on! Sounds easy on paper!
Really looking forward to this game – I think it could go either way. Wolves will need to punish Leeds with their speed on the wings in my opinion. Luke Ayling is crucial to the Leeds system and if Adama, Neto or Podence can exploit the space he leaves when going forward, I think Leeds will struggle a lot. Wolves will have to be clinical but I think they might just edge it based on Leeds’ defensive frailties.
Building on this, we wrote a piece on ‘The changing of the guard – can we still call them the “big 6″‘?
Obviously Wolves featured as one of the challengers to the ‘big 6’ along with Everton and Leicester. Interested to see if you guys think you’ll manage to break into that 6 this season or if it’s still too early? Anyway would love you guys to check it out – keep up the good work over here, I’ll be back for the match report next week for definite!

Latest footy
I would strongly recommend that you read the latest blog by Southbank resistance regarding the recent power grab of the current ‘self titled’ big six .
I say big six and not just Man U and Liverpool because make no mistake, the other four were just waiting for the feedback from their media department before they made the decision weather to jump on board or pretend that they disapprove.
That said, Monday will be a great game in my opinion between two old clubs .
This could go either way and the odd goal in five will do for me as regards entertainment, ( to wolves of course)
Leeds will be favourites with a couple of weeks longer to prepare perhaps but write us off at your peril.
The main thing is though, that both these clubs will have aspirations of reaching much higher ground moving forward but shuuuuuuush Don’t tell the self titled B I g. s I x
My gut feeling was to go for a 2-2 draw but I’ve been on a diet so it’s starting to shrink.
My pals always tell me I’m a bit of a big head (note to find new pals) and that’s not shrinking and it’s telling me to expect a 2-1 win.
So there you are!
Did just that mate .. I enjoy his stuff , sadly though, he is so right .
Whoever wrote that article needs to get his facts correct.
He talks about our victory over Flum as the first win of the season.
Did we not beat Sheffield, on their own patch, at the beginning of this campaign???
Yes we did Clive, but we’ve achieved very little else since then.
I’m amazed at some of the comments on here. Most posters seem to think that this will be easy for us. They don’t seem to have noticed that, on the evidence of what we’ve seen so far, we’re going to have a lot of trouble if we’re to handle Leeds like a walk in the park!
Well we haven’t played well in any game yet and seem unsure of how we’re supposed to be playing in this new style. Meanwhile, Leeds look very settled and confident in their attacking approach under Bielsa and I fear that we’re going to suffer the consequences.
Easy home win for Leeds to me I’m afraid.
2020,
Money, Greed, Covid 19, pointless Internationals, empty stadia, crazy results and Overpaid, over cofident Chairmen trying to screw the football world in the name of charity ( my arse). Oh yes, and Denmark for you English.
If that’s all we have to worry about this season, no problem!
Leeds have done well up to present, lot’s of teams are certainly underachieving, we are one of them, but we are notable slow starters. So I feel after watching our guys perform well and hold their own in the Internationals, we could win this, no home crowd advantages anymore, no tired weary legs after two weeks break.
Coady is fired up like Stevie Gerrard on crack, Patricio had little to do, Neves rested for two games, Moutinho a bit part player for two, Semedo had a blinder in two, Poddy got a run out for his National side, Neto got a goal and Jimmy and Saiss both did well. What’s not to like?
Leeds 0
Wolves 2
Tough match given the well publicised lack of pre-season, International matchesdisruption etc. We are very much undercooked , Jonny is our greatest miss and until the new lads in defence form the little partnerships and understanding required I fear it may get worse before it gets better. Like the lineup and great bench, can’t bet against us so a score draw for me but won’t be surprised if we are overwhelmed. Prefer 5 in midfield atm.
I agree with you wholeheartedly, went to school with kids who carried around Leeds shoulder bags. Hated them then and still do now. We should walk out and applaud all four empty stands just like they used to. Twats…..
I’ve got my money on a BTTS with Wolves to win.
Leeds are performing very well, Just as we did when we first appeared 2 years ago. That being said they are missing there 2 centre halves, and if we are able to put out a proper defence I think leeds will have a hard time to break us down, with Coadys confidence at the moment I think we will just have 2 much spark for leeds.
Semedo looked world class against mbappe, he is probably the reason it ended 0-0 in the internationals.
Our wing backs have been the issue for the first few games, but if Marcal is back and starts I think that will just make us a bit too potent and solid for leeds. It allows us to allow them possession and catch them on the counter. for me id start Adama over neto – Just because I think this is the perfect game for Raul and Adama to get there spark back, having neto and silva as a option later on but this is just my opinion.
3-1 wolves
2-1 wolves
I love the idea of chucking man u and Liverpool out of the prem . I would not miss them at all . The league would be better off . They don’t own football. They should just fuck off .
Excellent idea
Hold on London, don’t you realise that they have won one whole premier league title between them in the last 7 years?
Dosnt that make them special or something
Utw
Well Barry Douglas won’t get that Premier league game- he’s been shunted off to Blackburn. I reckon that their new winger signing means Helder’s first team regular days are numbered too. Like Nuno Bielsa knows his onions.
I’ve watched all Leeds’ games so far and they have been ridiculously open. That’s manna from heaven for our boys so:
Like Clive, I hate Leeds and remember when we shared The Kippax back in ’73. Those were the days.
I remember when we beat then 2-1 to prevent them winning the title. I cannot remember when but must be the middle 70″s!! I was so over the moon!!
A winning return from the international break me thinks….
Let’s win this!
On the official Wolves web site there is a picture of a wall murial ( Thanks, Hilda Ogden ) of Nuno with his trademark fist pump and Wolves Ay We on the wall.
Can anyone please tell me where that is?
Thanks, from the Yank
It’s on the official Wolves website.
Dunderhead!
It’s in Wolverhampton.
No fu…..shit, Sherlock!!
I think it’s Worcester Street on a boarded up shop.
Leeds- what a marvellous start to the season
Taking the premier league by the horns
A breath of fresh air
7 points
Wolves- no preseason
Five or six new guys
Not gelled yet
6. Points
We may not have clicked just yet understandably and Leeds have had lots more time to prepare as a huge amount of our boys have been on international duty but don’t write us off !
Looking forward to this one muchly And still think we will have at least 15 points from the first 10 games
Come on you wolves
Ps, really hoping for wins for Everton and Newcastle
Oops
Us to sneak it
The back end of November 2017 will remain in my memory as one of the best times I can remember being a Wolves fan.
Saturday 25th saw us beat Bolton 5-1 at Molineux, to go seven points clear at the top of the division.
A bravura performance with goals from Boly, Bonatini, Jota and two from Cavaleiro.
This came just a few days after we thrashed Leeds 4-1 under the Molineux lights. Barry Douglas, Diogo, Cavaleiro again and Costa were on the score sheet.
The PMDG’er spent the whole week in Wolverhampton, caught up with and had a few beers with some old mates, and saw two of the most comprehensive victories anyone could hope to witness.
Ironic that two of the scorers are now Leeds players.
Great memories!
Can’t really call this one. Our recent form, plus the International call ups of half the population of Wolverhampton, do worry me.
I think that a draw would be a satisfactory result and I also think that there will be goals.
Anybody gonna argue?
I hasten to add that I also spent the whole week in Wolverhampton.
Bring back the edit button Thomas!
Totally disagree with the avatar comments…..
The DOOG’s original picture portrays his ‘socially growing ‘ student years and epitomises the genre of the 70’s when having a Jamaican woodbine was just ‘going with the flow’…..
Peace man and stay cool….
I was going through to same mindset mate…. and knowing DOOG as I do …. he’s a diamond geeezer…
It’s Mr. Dunderhead to you.
And I think your avatar pic is much better than the latest, non smiling version, but with half your face covered up, I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
Well said.
So it should be, I was 50 years younger when it was taken!
Very cool shirt Doog, give you a tenner for the watch. The mighty Wolves to win.
Having to hang around until Monday is a drag, but I predict…
The boys have only got a few days to get it right before Monday but with the potency we have that should not be too much of a problem.
Me thinks an open entertaining game with the 3 points heading South.
That’ll get us ready for a tasty Sunday game against the brown ale brigade.
Leeds certainly have an advantage as they will be trying the full 90 minutes while we will only be trying in the second half.
If we are down going into the second half – “Nuno out”.
I’m getting a little sick of these no-show first halves/halfs.
Thumbs up those who agree. (Careful, we don’t want the counter to spin around back to 1)
I agree with you, mate, and if Paul were still here, I’m sure he would too. Too bad the rudeness of some of the bloggers caused him to bugger off.
Yes, I’ve noticed the rudeness as well.
Not like you
You can be trying all the time
My mom taught me to always try to make things better.
That is why I am contributing such useful information and opposing viewpoints to this blog.
Unfortunately, some Wolves fans do not feel we should question owners and coaches.
Sad really but, as Trump said when asked about the 200,000 people who died from COVID-19, “it is what it is”.
I Just don’t see what there is to criticise. Runaway championship winners. 2 7th places with more points each year even with a calendar that now has the former Special One bleating like a herd of castrated merino lambs. (See what I did there?)
Now we’ve won two and lost two after a year with no pre season. We’ve invested £80m of the cash they cleverly made with some astute business in the transfer market.
When they cock up I’ll shout as loud as anyone but in fairness so far it’s hard to criticise.
Have to agree with everyone on the stupid, money grabbing Fifa Internationals, given the crazy times.
I too remember the 70’s and cheating Leeds needing to win at the Mil, all the talk of bribes etc… Best chant ever We all F??in hate Leeds
They are having a go, so tough to call, they have gone toe to toe with Citeh and LiVARpool. We are still a more organised and stronger in depth team and will only improve week on week.
3 points boys for Dorset Wolf and Bedford Wolves, would be nice.
Hope for a win, take a draw, predict a defeat…still early days.
Dirty Leeds United 1
Wolverhampton Wanderers 2

We are currently up to £1,683 which with Gift Aid takes it to over £2,000. Thank you all. P.S. I will be wearing a Wolves shirt when I brave the cold sea and will post a picture on here afterwards.
Blimey mate… that wedding picture of Julie and yourself just blew me away…..
You were deff punching above your weight…..Lol
Hope you’re ok Bedders… we all love ya….x
Well done Bedders you cracked the Two Grand mark, absulutely brilliant, Out of Darkness.
They are good. We’re not ready.
The language is so bad on this blog from certain people,e like Clive. Can you turn it down please. It’s really horrible to read.
I complained ages ago and he did cut it out for a while. Lets hope a lady complaining will make him realise that it is not wanted.
Very true, I am certainly no prude and I really enjoy this blog for the high journalist standards set by Thomas, Ben and other major lead writers such as Paddy and DOOG. Good banter, reminiscing and leg pulls. I believe that swearing disguises and weakens a poor argument. Best to post before having a beer!
WELL SAID…
Looking forward to an entertaining game. And because I can remember the dirty Leeds era gotta go for a Wolves win, think it will be tough though.
Could go either way this one. Who knows what will happen.
I was going to wait to see if there is any bad news regarding our Portuhampton squad after Ronaldo’s diagnosis. But I decided to sit on the fence a predict a draw. I think we would be quite happy with a point from this game.
The one thing I have really missed from Wolves this season is the lack of attempts from outside the penalty area. We all ooohed and aaahed when Neves and Mautinho scored wonder goals. I don’t believe I have seen one attempt so far this season.
Tricky match this one…
Bielsa is a top quality coach, and is the main reason I’m worried about this one. Regardless of some key players being unavailable, I would expect him to have figured a way to exploit our out of sync team, trusting the players at his disposal to do the job. It reminds me of when the nuno wolves first arrived on the prem scene. Lots of inexperienced players, yet we excelled with a fresh style of play.
Proof will be in the shape of our team. If we try to dictate things, which isn’t quite working for us just yet, it could get tough.
Going for an entertaining score draw…
Want a win on my brothers birthday…
But know this is one we might just lose. Still not worried about the season though. Plenty left to play for and room for improvement. UTW
Tricky game and hard to predict especially in a season of weird results.
So just going back to my tried but not particularly trusted 2-0 to Wolves.
Tough one to call, for sure, but if we play like we can we will win. If we play like we have been though, things could well go awry.
We know from when Nuno first arrived how important time on the training field is to how he prepares the squad. That time has been pretty thin on the ground since the arrival of our new intake and our play has been disjointed and unconvincing as a result. I absolutely agree with those who wonder why the hell our players are being dragged around the world playing pointless internationals at this time of disrupted schedules and multiple games being crammed into a shortened season. Nuno has, of course, remained dignified despite provocation, and has tried to emphasise the benefits to the players of turning out for their country . He must be feeling well cheesed off and frustrated inside though.
So, all this makes any prediction like flipping a coin and, as usual, mine’s landed heads.
Not a clue.
WGH!
Tricky one to call….Fabio off he bench for a thunderous header late on in an attrition affair….
Not feeling confident after a busy international week.
Would take a draw.
Hoping the – we could be very good once they do, I’m sure Nuno will have been learning from the last few matches new team will start to gel
There’s no hiding from the fact that since the lockdown our boys have not quite been their old selves; our habit of burning off teams in the last twenty minutes has all but gone and I put it down to burn out to some extent with our small squad playing high intensity games one after the other. To my mind, Internationals at this time of player integration, are not going to help us. However, with the class ability we know they have, we may soon get our second breathe, hopefully.
Again one or two feel this game is a given, which no game in the Premiership is. I remember in our first game against Norwich last season we were fortunate to come away with the points. This Leeds team is much better than that and so I suspect a really tough game.
I have absolutely no idea what the outcome will be, but will go for a two all draw, but hoping we rediscover our mojo to get a well earned win, which we are , on our day, well capable of. Head and heart battle…
I don’t hate teams but in the day I disliked Don Revy intensely for his corrupt running of a team which did not need such methods. His actions when England manager summed up the man for me and I, too, greatly enjoyed it when we managed to stop them winning the League in, was it 1975? 2-2 draw.
8th of May, 1972
Wolves 2 , Munro, Dougan.
Leeds 1, Bremner
Last match of the season.
Leeds needing just a point to win the double.
Wolves won, Derby were Champions, Brian Clough was away on holiday.
10 million supporters packed the Mol, Wolves fans, Derby fans and Leeds fans, who had spent two days in Wolverhampton and surrounding districts getting drunk, after their 1- 0 victory in the FA Cup Final over Arsenal, convinced they were going to do the double, with still unproven allegations of attempted bribery by certain Leeds players, and manager.
I was one of the 10 million, in the North Bonk!
And, if certain readers are offended by a bit of colourful language, I would suggest they need to get to games, when allowed, and take off their rose tinted ear muffs.
There is far more colourful language at a match, and in the real world.
No apologies from this side of the pond.
Constant swearing is a sign of low intelligence. Or immaturity.
Or in some instances, both.
Hickory, Dickory Dock.
The clockwork Tim mouse ran up the friggin’ clock.
Yet again, wind you up, and off you go, along with all the other thin skinned clockwork mices.
One day, when your IQ reaches double figures, and you are out of puberty, you will realize that I am the ultimate wind up merchant, who loves nothing more, apart from a Wolves win, than to have a running written battle with someone who has no sense of humour, and thinks he is Dog almighty.
Sound like anyone you know???
I always take it easy on you because you started to cry a while back and I naturally assumed you were slightly retarded or can’t handle your beer.
Have a nice day.
I respectively disagree young Tim ,
I have many friends, some doctors, lawyers, airline pilots who swear as good as any bricklayer .
I don’t think there is any overuse of bad language on this blog to be honest and when it’s used it is usually in a comedic context.
If you are offended by the odd written word, just read past it for goodness sake, there are much bigger things in this world to be worried about .
Utw
Think it’ll be a hectic game with lots of goals due to the openness of Leeds towards the end of games. 3-4 with wolves grabbing a late late winner on the counter I think
Damn it messed it up
Don’t hold back young man, possible is nothing, come and join the faithfull, you will be astonished at the friendship that awaits you all over the world.
Just for balance, I don’t think Nuno is a happy bunny right now and this transmits to the team. He isn’t working with his players, his new signings haven’t settled yet, Doc and Jota have gone, he worries like a father when his boys are away from home. I’m hoping for a draw or at least avoiding another West Ham night.
Hope your airline pilot friends don’t swear when they are driving aircraft!
Or Doctor friends whilst carrying out an operation.
Or Tim while he’s learning to wipe his own botty.
Very droll, Mr Ant.
Hopefully 2-0 win for the Wolves hoping for a good game need to be on ate game.
Get a life Timmy…
I’d rather read a few MILD expletives than read your wind up and sad efforts at trying to be a Wolves fan….
Go follow Sandwell Town…
Hope that you follow the good advice … bye …
No love lost with Leeds since. Just gotta feeling it will click Monday and a few goals will be going in. To their net.
I’ve heard Leeds Utd are going in to a new tier 4 of covid restrictions . This is because they are ‘dirty Leeds’ Essentially this means he will be kept locked away in a cave just off Harrogate. They can only be fed from a safe distance of 10m by means of large chunks of bacon grill from the CO-OP. These will be thrown in through a hole in the roof. The bloke who throws the bacon grill will be dressed in the space suit worn by Buzz Alldrin and will have to drink 10 pints of disinfectant after exposure. Thus putting him in line with Donald Trumps miraculous recovery from Covid 19. Providing suitable risk assessments are satisfied the game will go ahead Monday subject to mass testing and an evaluation of why Marcello Bielsa appears to be having a shit in the technical area. The obvious disruption to preparations means a 3-1 victory to WWFC. With Podence and Raul doing the damage.Leeds 1 WWFC 3.
Leeds do play a very open style which could lead to them being caught on the counter. But our counter attacking hasn’t been up to scratch recently, so I’m a bit doubtful about this one. Expect our defence to remain reasonably solid and would like to see Ait-Nourri given a run out.
Otherwise, please note that he’s back… https://yamyam.blog/
Changing the subject for a moment from expletives and Leeds, I’ve just watched a brilliant game of Rugby with Exeter Chiefs beating Racing, 31-27 in the European Champions Cup Final.
F**&%$£***ing great stuff!
Oooops!
That’s a Red card every day of the lunar planetariumm
I’m offended by the Royal Family, rich privileged Etonians and rich businesses pumping money in to the Tory party in return for keeping wages of the working class to a minimum but I have to put up with it.
Lucky for you, none of the Royal Family contribute to this blog.
Present company excepted of course.
Well the one plonker supports Villa. Do we need to say anymore? Any way. I’m having a few beers before covid shuts the boozers. Wolves ay we.
Just hope everyone is fit, it will be a hard game for us following the International break, just wish we could get a longer spell with the squad together.
Leeds on a roll and I think they will have the edge over us, just.
Wolves 1
Leeds 2
Hate to agree with you mate.
Nuno needs more time at Compton with the lads.
UTW!
Just goes to show perhaps not all young players are controversial and appreciate the gift they have..
https://amp.sportsmole.co.uk/off-the-pitch/wolves/news/wolves-youngster-luke-matheson-surprises-parents-with-new-car_418787.html
I don’t really know what to expect from this game but more signs of improvement from us would be welcome whatever the final outcome.
Just hope I am not right with this score
I have no idea!
Hopeful that we click – finally – and win this.
(BTW 6 years ago today (18 October) was an ultimately frustrating, but fantastic, match v Millwall at the Den. Wolves fans held back 90 minutes after the game. Hubby is ‘Wall; never fails to mention this game whenever a team go 3-0 down. Cracking atmosphere. )
Gareth Bale. The only bloke with a haircut that is more silly than Greasy.
On current form Leeds probably go into this game as favourites. It depends what type of Wolves show up, another listless performance like West Ham and it’ll end up a similar result
The weird results keep coming. Got to be something to do with no fans in ground. When Wham were 3-0 down at 15 mins I had a premonition it would be 3-3. Should have had a bet!
What a choker for Maureen!
I expect a frenetic game but I don’t expect a win
Wish we could be there to help the lads on
Spurs 3-0 up, Dai the God with a silly haircut comes on as sub to really rub in Spurs superiority.
The Welsh maestro misses a sitter and it ends 3-3.
Well worth £600k a week I’d say.
It was a sitter but, to be fai6, he created all by his ape self.
I saw a sheep the other day. It had a similar hair cut to Gareth.
The diving, cheating, moaning arrogant Spurs.
3-0 and you spurmed it up.
Millwall a few years ago like Cheesy said.
Brilliant.
Sadly, I don’t we’ll be quite there for this one.
By the look of it Leeds have put a decent team together.
Bamford been a thorn in our side in the past and Costa, no doubt would love to score against us.
That said , they’ll well remember the last 3-0 drubbing we gave the at Elland Rd… so they too will have to respect us….
Difficult to call but I’m going with the heart…. with best wishes to Dorset Wolf, and hoping for a reversal of that semi final defeat all those years ago.
OMG. The insufferable bollocks will now be spewing forth from Sutton Coldfield.
Crazy results continue in this weird, but fascinating season. Win this and we move to equal fourth. Lose it and we are 15th…
Tough game, just hope the lads turn up to save me from my piss taking Leeds supporting newsagent.
Wish I could feel confident about tonight but I don’t.
Wolves win here probably be end to end but should keep it tight
Slightly nervy about tonight . Depends on which Wolves team turns up ! On paper we should enough to put them to the sword . But they way we played against Fulham should our non collectiveness !
Like everyone else I just hope everything clicks and we get a decent win
COYW
I feel if we retract back to our old shape and style, we’ll be able to win this on the counter. However, if we’re intent on growing the shape this will prove to be a difficult match due to all of Leeds runners into the box. Adama could play a huge role on the counter for Wolves
First visit to Elland Road was almost 50 years ago – 20th Feb 1971. Leeds back then (probably the same now to some extent) were detested by the rest of the football world for a number of reasons – uncivilised and thug-ridden supporters making Bellend Road a distinctly unpleasant place to visit – a team that whilst capable of producing some breath-taking football had a deserved reputation for replicating their supporters on the pitch – and of course Don Revie a man who later brought the game into disrepute for a whole host of reasons. Revie could never understand why he was not “revered” like Shankly or Stein or even Clough/Taylor.
Anyway 5 of us piled into a Triumph Herald (try that now) belonging (I think) to a fellow Sedgley geezer by the name of Ian Preston. Also on board was Paul Thompson and Andy Haynes who may read this blog and who still live in the Sedgley area.
After a few sherbets about 10 miles outside the city we took our place on the shallow Scratching Shed terrace with its barrel roof along with a few hundred other Wolves lads.
Now the previous week “all conquering” Leeds (they never ever attained the full potential Revie sought) had been beaten 3-2 by mighty 4th division Colchester United at Layer Road in the FA Cup 4th round. Ex-Wolves centre forward Ray Crawford had scored for Colchester and oh how the nation chortled and made merry.
However whilst we goaded the home fans before the kick off there was a sense of foreboding – wounded animal and all that.
So it proved as Leeds won 3-0 in a canter.
One moment during the game which will always stick in my mind….
Corner to Leeds in front of the away contingent – Jack Charlton took up his customary place at the near post to block the vision of the goalkeeper or nod one in – Wolves fans pipe up (to the tune of “when the red red robin comes bob bob bobbing along) “When big Jack Charlton comes bob bob bobbing along, along…………….shoot the bastard, shoot the bastard, shoot the bastard!”
Charlton turned to the Wolves fans with that huge, familiar grin on his face as he waited for Terry Cooper to put over an inswinger.
How we chuckled with him – he took it all in good part frankly. The recent death of Jack Charlton stirred memories of the battles between him and The Doog.
The journey home was probably a quiet affair as we had been walloped – I have a vague recollection of stopping at a pub but that’s about it.
My first of maybe 12 or so visits to Leeds United in all competitions including the 1974 FA cup 3rd round replay played on a cold Wednesday afternoon in mid-winter with a 2 o’clock kick off due to the strikes that crippled the country and the power cuts that led to emergency measures being implemented. So no floodlights were allowed to be switched on. Amazingly over 42,000 crammed into the ground on that Wednesday afternoon.
Enjoy the game.
Brilliant recall Michael-I went by train in 71 and was chased all over Leeds, if I remember correct. Those were the days…….
Michael,
Thank you for the lovely walk down memory lane there matey.
Thanks also for the contribution, hope you stay with us and share some more Golden moments.
Mine was the same as Clive’s above, 8th May 1972.
That was the night I got carried down to the foot of the Southbank by the huge sway of the crowd as a skinny 21 year old, made my way down the right hand side which is now the Steve Bull into the North bank and never Iv’e left it since.
Happy days.
A lovely story.
I well remember the Colchester Leeds game but have wiped the following week’s match from my memory bank.
The Leeds match that sticks with me most is the one alluded to above by Clive.
May 8th 1972.
I was in the South Bank surrounded by thousands of Leeds supporters.
And I lived to celebrate both our goals and tell the tale in The Vine after the game.
Used to watch Leeds a bit when they had a couple of Aussies playing for them – Mark Viduka and Harry Keynell.
Think we will enjoy their style of play.
Hope Costa doesn’t score.
Clean sheet win coming up.
Gave Leeds a goal by mistake. M8ght put some money on that now
Never like the games after internationals, toss up as to how we do. Plus I agree the internationals being crammed in right now are ridiculous.
Not feeling all that confident about this match for some reason, we’ve yet to find our groove & lack of training ground practice not helping.
Head says draw, heart says win.

Here’s a quick Quiz:-
1) Who’s the referee for the game tonight?
2) Who is in the Stockley Park hot seat?
3) Which two decisions did they recently make a complete horlicks over?
Answers please, wrapped round a brick, to the powers that be of the Premier League who need their collective heads knocking together.
Well I previously checked on that one…
David Coote… spelt correctly I hope… and he being the one that decided Pickford’s challenge was fair … despite putting Van Diik out for a season…. crap imo.
Can’t remember who is the VAR joker is but it didn’t look good the last time I checked….
The old tune/ Terrence chant….
Shit refs… we only get Shit refs comes to mind…
Apologies for the repeat of genre language btw…

This will definitely be a test of our character. Leeds in spectacular form but I think the International break came at a poor time for them, and a great time for us. We needed a week off to regroup and get some players back. Excited to see a Marcal appearance as well as a Podence. Would love Traore to make a start on the right with Podence as his counter part on the left. Not sure what Mid-field we will see with Donk, Joao, Neves but they will need be strong in this one. Could be in for a lot of counter attacking play.
I think this games is a massive implementation of how our season will go. I predict a 1-0 or 2-1 win from us. It will not be easy but I have faith in Nuno’s system and am excited for this one. COYW. Lets get some balls in the back of the net.
For me this is as difficult a game to forecast as we’ve had for a long time. The international break, the lack of supporters, the developing system, the history with Leeds, the new yet-to-gell players to say nothing of VAR which has already this early in the season given us ludicrous interventions, ruling out goals for millimetre offsides while failing completely to do anything about Pickford’s crude assault on VVD which left him seriously injured. This tackle would have brought about a lengthy ban even in American football and was bad enough to have warranted a police investigation. What a farce it is and what a pity it has such power to affect games in such an irrational and inconsistent way.
Tonight I wouldn’t be surprised by 7-2 , 2-7 or anything in between. If money was involved I wouldn’t have a bet, for the sake of supporting the PL I’m going for 4-2 to us, just don’t ask me why!!!!
COYW
Yeah. Why didn’t VAR sort Pickford our. Absolutely shite.
Surprised how many people have got the same score in mind as me. Following the trend of scoring draws.
Looking forward to the game very much. Leeds to dominate possession and cause us a few issues at the back. But as has already been quoted they are very open.
Quite tempted for the 3-2 win but not sure we have three goals in us yet.
Come on me babbies, first steps into Nuno phase 3.
Bet you’re all £15 lighter getting a slice of the football feast that is Baggies v Burned-out.
I am going for a Desmond again.
0-0!
What? That would be a stupid prediction for this game.
There again a 0-0 is overdue.
Posting this prediction with not a clue as to how it will end up. Head says loss, heart says win. Ever the pessimist!
still think we need a few games to gel
You never know how we will play, after so many players have been away on international duty.
This is a big game. Win and our season is on track; lose it and the pressure is on.
I’m going for an entertaining 2-1 win. Traore to come off the bench and impact.
I hope we’re gelling a bit more. Apart from a bright start for 20 minutes against Sheff U, and a come-back second half against Citeh, we’ve looked laboured and at times useless. We’re better than that. A draw or a gritty win for me. (I predicted a gritty 2-1 against Fulham and we got a gritty 1-0).
I’ll go for the Fulham prediction again.
Away win
Not sure about this, so I’ll sit on the fence.
Wolves 2
Leeds 2
Very important win. Looked better as the game went on, Kilman excellent. If semedo is worth 36m I’m the next pope.
he’s a right back that’s been thrown in as a wing back. give him time, he’s going to be just fine.
Fantastic second half
Excellent game management from nuno
Feel sorry for all the destabilising armchair managers out there
Season changing win
Normal service is resuned
Wolves are back
Agree with Matt, aka LWL. Season defining win. For all their huff n puff in the 1st half, personally thought Leeds looked fancy, quick but didn’t kill us off.
Offside rule needs to change, its bonkers.
3 points, happy with that.
For Dorset Wolf and Bedford lone Wolf!
Compared to Neto in the Liverpool game away last season, Podence was yards offside. At least it wasn’t a toe nail this time.
I think we all knew what was going to happen in the second half.
Welcome 3 points but as Nuno says, the reaction to losing to West Ham has to be seen in clean sheets and points on the board. Can’t understand the dozy starts, it can’t be planned and we’ll come unstuck if we concede early goals against better teams. Pleased for Maximilian Kilman, who sounds like a Bond film villain but is calm, measured and looks at home at this level, this might be bad news for Saiss who isn’t a wing back.
Traore needs to start in my opinion in order to get into the game, when he came on we all got excited didn’t we? Then hardly a touch of significance for the rest of the game.
I love the Wolves but blimey they are hard work sometimes.
he’s a right back that’s been thrown in as a wing back. give him time, he’s going to be just fine.
Spot on BG. Saiss’ best position is midfield and was pushed into the back 3 put of necessity. Great as a sub for a tiring Joao M. Nelson should not be judged for another 3/4 games- although that throw in was laughable. Cody was immense and when Dan and Pedro gel they will be unstoppable.
I thought it was quite a comfortable win. A few scary moments early doors but after that ?
Loved the Leeds comments prior to the game, stating, “all the pundits have Leeds to win”
Well guys, this is 2020, 100 MPH for 10 minutes just won’t cut it.
