Nice to be on Sky again.

It’s been over a month since our last fixture was moved to please the TV overlords, which is outrageous.
The nation will have built up an unquenchable thirst for our free-flowing brand of non-stop attacking football by now.
Mercifully it’s an away fixture against a top six team, so the emphasis isn’t on us to impress and more optimistically, we’ve generally performed better on our travels.
As the result is inconsequential to us, I hope for an entertaining affair.
Hull
I thought the Tigers would go up automatically, but maybe they look better on paper?
The play-offs are sewn up despite just two wins in their last 10 matches, but a top two finish is now completely out of the question.
They’ve got experience and no little quality across their settled back four, so no surprise to see that only Middlesbrough (26) have conceded less than their 29. That’s 23 goals less than Wolves for further context.
Man-for-man they should be as good as anyone so must be considered strong contenders come May, but Steve Bruce will have to figure out why they haven’t turned up lately.
They’ve got easily winnable fixtures between now and then so no reason they shouldn’t rediscover some form in time for the important stuff.
Wolves
Another ugly goalless outing against Blackburn did little to enhance anyone’s prospects, with the possible exception of Carl Ikeme. Kenny Jackett acknowledged we need to do more going forward so I wonder if that will be reflected in his team selection?

Doubtful.
With Kevin McDonald banished and seemingly never to return, Dave Edwards possibly still short of match fitness and the remainder not much better than what we’ve got, I’m not sure what he can or will do?
I’d bring Jeremy Helan back personally, as his mobility is a useful asset in an otherwise one-paced side. Le Fondre remains my most enticing forward option with little else to choose from.
Bright Enobakhare and Connor Hunte could and probably should be given some more game time, if we’re serious about using either consistently next season.
The gaffer
Predictions
We haven’t lost since our last televised away trip and please god let this be better than that non-performance at Boro.
If Hull get after us, I can only foresee defeat as there’s an obvious deficit in quality.
Therefore, despite their recent lull, it’s got to be a home win for me, but hopefully we can score and contribute to a decent contest.
2-1 Hull.
Up The Wolves!

Not as it makes any difference to this season but we look really hard I to beat
I’m going for a wolves win
UTW
good humour as always.
i did like one facebook poster remarking on the new sponsor that they are offering the new kit on terms, only 7400% APR.
i also noticed that the petition had garnered over 1000 signatures in half a day, cant remember when last there was such vociferous backlash … but it certainly is a fitting end to one helluva rotten season for the club, and perhaps the death knell to either moxey, or the clubs financial future.
Without a hint of irony Moxey remarked that “pay day lenders provide an important service to the community” and that even though there had been no football success, their partners had still enjoyed great benefits of the association… ya think ? Battling to keep my lunch down, it was with disbelief that he closed with ” The Money Shop want to use Wolves as a media platform to educate and encourage financial awareness” …
There are no words.
PS
1-1 for what it’s worth Thomas.
My sentiments exactly.
KMAC has to start as we have no creativity in our midfield. It’s a bizarre situation and you can only conclude KMAC has fallen out with KJ and is off in the summer or KJ is clueless.
I don’t rate Coady or Saville, so personally I wouldn’t choose either.
I still think Price, KMAC and Edwards are out best available midfield three.
I’d also start Mason, as Siggy and Le Fondre should be moved on this summer.
Bad times.
I thought it was telling this week when KJ was asked about his squad he talked about all his midfield options and listed every player specifically, including Lee Evans, except McDonald.
It would be nice to know the reason he’s been exiled and suddenly looks destined for the exit.
Best case scenario it’s a kick up the arse to make sure he comes back firing next season, but I suspect it’s the precursor to an exit. A real shame if that’s the case as easily the best central midfielder we’ve had since the Rae/Cameron/Ince era.
I’m assuming he wants to go to Rangers or Celtic. It’s an easier league, and it’s easier to qualify for a place in the European leagues.
Draw for me too K-J K, but I haven’t got it right all season (apart from the Blackburn result)!
COMBs!!
Writing been on the wall a while about KMac – his departure will leave only Ikeme as a star from our award-winning team of 14/15… and if he, as anybody would, cares about his career he has to be looking at his options.
This season is littered with trainwrecks, with the current rage at the new sponsor I have no idea what the potential backlash from the fans and instability it creates will do to a club already teetering on the brink.
This club is making a select few a lot of money, and they will be doing everything in their power to ensure the status quo remains, so whatever the long-term fate of the club, you just know that Muggsley will come out the other side licking his lips …
Having sold off pretty much all the clubs tangible assets during the course of th year the club finally ran out of furniture with nothing left to sell but its soul.
Yesterday that went for a quick-quid too.
“The nation will have built up an unquenchable thirst for our free-flowing brand of non-stop attacking football by now.”
Do I detect a slight hint of sarcasm here?
Hull ain’t playing too well at the moment and Wolves are unbeaten in six games and now mathematically safe, I can see an upset in this one if KJ plays an attacking formation.
I’m not sure where our goals might come from. Hull need to win but our back 4 is looking better with each game so maybe we have a chance of nicking something. Realistically they will score.
Still steaming about greasel’s slimy, politician’s remarks about scumball moneyshop.
And, the bastard has not bothered to reply to my letter.
There was a comment on the previous blog about the American owner of the ultimate holding company of moneyshop being a football lover and seems a nice guy, etc. etc.
It doesnt change who they are or what they do.
A snake oil salesman is a snake oil salesman.
We have one for ceo.
For once, I really dont give a shit about the game.
1-0 to Wolves, we play football against sides at the top, so a gritty win.
If you haven’t signed the petition please do it today. It’s our only voice in all this slease. Tim Spiers actually wrote about it, (someone else did the leg work)
Hi Stu,
Can you (or another) put the link for the petition on here so self + others can sign it.
Thanks,
Paulus

Thanks Admant, i will copy and paste it to the end.
I’ll watch the stream of this one with no enthusiasm whatsoever. Its about as meaningless a game as you can get at this stage of a season. Can’t see where we might get a goal from – set-piece may be our best option. I doubt the youngsters will get much game time against an experienced Hull side.
Hull 2
Wolves 1
Too pissed off to care really. Be glad when this season is over
Problem is Tipton – next season is gearing up to be even worse – we need to stop this injustice, and the buck stops with Moxey. As Stuwolf says, Sign the petition, it’s our only voice.
Already had done so mate. Still pissed off though
Kmac wants to leave simple, so y play him if he isn’t going to be there next season, off to rangers, people slag off saville but he has just as many goals as kmac has scored and he has played a lot less for us!
I would start mason upfront with Edwards just behind tomorrow evening.
I expect to be subjected to a bit of stick for saying this but I’m ambivalent about the Money Shop sponsorship business.
First, let me make it perfectly clear that I don’t think that we should have agreed to them sponsoring the Sir Jack Stand in 2009, for all the reasons that are being put forward now.
But we did and we’ve been taking their 30 pieces of silver ever since.
To my mind, you are either for something or against it.
I am against the whole idea of ‘pay day loans’ at vast interest rates.
Having said that, if companies like Money Shop didn’t exist we’d be back to Dodgy Dave dolling out the cash when we poor buggers get a bit short at the end of the month and woe betide us if we didn’t settle up.
We’d end up on the wrong end of a baseball bat.
It just seems odd that we object to having their name on our shirts but not for sponsoring one end of the ground for the last seven years.
If it was down to me we wouldn’t have started the relationship in the first place… but we did.
It’s a bit of a conundrum isn’t it?
Its’ completely different having their name on the stand and plastered on the front of 100s of Wolves fans’ shirts.
What acomme3nt on the time not that far back when Goodyear still provided jobs to 1000s of Wolverhampton people and their name on our shirts was something to appreciate.
Shame on Moxey and his apparent assistant fund raiser.
The point I’m trying to make is that you are either prepared to accept their money or you are not.
You either approve of what they stand for or you don’t.
To my mind, morality is not a variable – it is a constant.
I forgot about the football for a minute there.
As I shall be watching the match on my pirated Sky Sports package I have to predict something positive or I shall just feel depressed at the thought of having to sit through 90 minutes of rubbish.
Plus, I’m feeling lucky after my big National win last Saturday.
A draw will do but, hell, let’s go for a win. I don’t think it will greatly affect my chances of winning the prediction league.
No, but it could effect mine. After all, that is the only thing I have going foe me at the moment, so ……….
Next season can only get better. DOOGooder you make some fair points, but the shirt sponsorship will turn the club into more of a joke I’m afraid. All the while A****n and Stoke could be a season away from cup success or Euro qualification ! 😮
An out of the blue 3 points for me. It will make the London Pride at the pub go down sweeter.
Oops, hit the wrong button
Too late mate. Only your first prediction will count lol. Mind you you will get 2 points when we lose
Never know Brompton; might pick up all 3 then. That would really do our GD great.
I must admit to feeling a degree of optimism about this game, both in the entertainment value and final result. We’ve done OK against the top teams on their own patch recently and with Hull in faltering form, I feel the pressure will be on them rather than us to impress.
Oh yeah, and the main reason for optimism : it really can’t get any worse.
Did you not see us away at Middlesborough recently? How we only lost 1-2 remains a mystery, if we’d lost 0-5 we couldn’t have complained. We were depressingly dire and clueless. Still hope your prediction is right mate!
So now its MoneyShop Wanderers away to Hull Tigers….this sport gets more sickening by the week
Not long before Molineux name goes too and we’re playing at the MoneyShop Stadium
Not sure that next season will see things better either
Meantime Friday’s meaningless game is on West Coast telly…Ch 429 BEiN on Comcast
Another dire experience in prospect I fear
‘Usurers United’ owned by Dolar Grabbit & Runne.
No wonder KMac wants to leave.
Sad indeed.
Like to see the young forwards start, Hare and Hunte.
No chance of that.
Will switch on pirated Sky for the latest KJ crap.
it’s wall to wall crap down the wanderers … the exodus wont stop at KMac
Over 1700 signatures on the petition now … not bad in little over a day
https://www.change.org/p/jez-moxey-wolverhampton-wanderers-fc-reconsider-the-sponsorship-agreement-with-the-money-shop?recruiter=54580472&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=autopublish&utm_term=mob-xs-no_src-reason_msg
I signed it, however petitions are just a sop to democracy.
Even with 17,000 signatures Moxey would ignore it and tell us he knows better!
Pay day loans – sickening.
K Mac situation – sickening.
Current season – sickening.
Next season – reasons to be cheerful??? I fear not………….
Ever the optimist – time we fluked a win again just like the Derby game.
It’s my soul you’re selling Mr Mo£ey
Gritty draw for me Thomas.
Glad when this season is over !!!
They don’t let in many and we don’t score many. Bearing that in mind I am expecting a mind numbing kick about with little end product.
No doubt I will be proved wrong and actually see a football match where both teams go out to win rather than go out not to loose (as is the theme these days).
Same line-up, same dross, same shit different day
The whole Money Shop fiasco is perhaps the most dispiriting thing to happen this season.
While the injury list is depressing .. and I am sure not as depressing for the players themselves, whose careers depend on being match fit .. when you see your boyhood club sell their soul to the devil .. literally, laughing their way to the bank, in more ways than one .. without a glimmer of apprehension .. it actually hurts.
I can’t see Wolves getting a result out of Hull .. but rather than put another nail in the coffin, and invoke all the negative karma that comes from betting against your own team .. I am not going to actually post my prediction ..
UTW ….
My team would be:
Ikeme
Doherty Iorfa Hause Deslandes
Price Coady
Hunte McDonald Mason
Enobakhare
Sorry but no place for Henry, Edwards, Le Fondre, Sigurdason, Byrne etc none of whom have the quality a club of Wolves stature requires. I would prefer to prepare for the future – and hopefully new owners and therefore a new manager – and play people with ability, pace and the quality to excite. Batth on the bench. McDonald captain. I know dear old Kenny would never do any of this and he will of course pick another boring as hell functional side geared up to try and grind out another 0-0 draw.
Crackin team lad, a man after me own heart.
Another bore draw for me which would actually be a good result.
Hoping for a bit better game so going for 1-1.
I see poxey’s been spouting how he thinks Hackett is the right man for the job next term at the mol,All I hope we get new owners in and fk the pair off before they cause any more Havoc to us and our club.UTW
I will be in the pub watching the match. The problem is if I have too many I will confuse Hull for Wolves and mistakenly think we are 3-0 up. Wildly celebrating a Hull goal in a pub in Gornal (albeit mistakenly) could lead to serious consequences for my health. But never mind, i can always get a loan for some new teeth from Money Shop.
Moxey (Morgan) completely unrepentant as if nothing has gone wrong at all (CEO update Thursday)
Undertones and admissions ‘Kenny Jacket will still be able to trade players in and out’..that means he’s staying and musical chairs R us all over again..
K Mac would be best out of it up to Glasgow..meanwhile we have to endure the end of the season with genuine worrying thoughts re next season .
I swear if everyone was 100% fit (which of course won’t be the case) and we have youngsters capable of playing like internationals Jacket will
Fuck it up. I’m very personally forlorn that he might stay or proper pissed off in my language.
As regards a buyer then God help us ,and we truly need him too…
This match..draw draw draw….which against Hull is prob a good result..the team who knows…?
COYW
Time to sneak a win
The Money Shop deal has been the last straw for many; what are we playing for now ? Next season will obviously be another mediocre mid if they’re lucky table load of smoke and mirrors with no real ambition except to make money out of OUR club.
JHP
Great words, “Smoke & Mirrors”
Come on you music guys, where’s that one from?
It’s ‘Imagine Dragons’ the American version of ‘Coldplay’.
Not really my sort of music.
I’d sooner headbang.
I for one will not be buying any shirt with a Pay Day loan company emblazed across it.
I am dismayed that our precious club is to be associated with these creatures that charge exorbitant rates of interest to the very people that are least able to afford them and thereby get deeper into debt.
I hope everyone on here will also not buy any of the new kit and hit Moxey where it hurts most in falling revenue sales – it is only then that he’ll realise he’s made one hell of a mistake.
If Bolton fans can change their clubs philosophy on this I’m sure we can also – everyone please sign the petition.
I still won’t predict a loss but I can’t really see anything other than a loss. I refuse to buy a new shirt while that **** is across the front & as Mr Moxey is basically confirmed that he is keeping his grubby little mitts on every penny I can’t see things improving without a new buyer.
Oh well can but hope things improve.
Hmm, Goals, goals, goals?
If recent home performances are what we go buy, I doubt it.
I think with Hull being off the boil, and with our defence starting to keep the ball out of the net, we may be looking at another 0-0, but then we seem to be able to score away from home…
#UTW
Expecting a classic match with lots of chances.
Depressed, no real hope for the next few seasons unless we find a buyer
Paulswolf,
Thats it again Just In Case 🙂
https://www.change.org/p/jez-moxey-wolverhampton-wanderers-fc-reconsider-the-sponsorship-agreement-with-the-money-shop?recruiter=54580472&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=autopublish&utm_term=mob-xs-no_src-reason_msg
I’m so disinterested in the game and Wolves at the moment.
The MoneyShop issue just mirrors what the owner and Ceo seem to stand for….Greed. It might be legal but it’s not morally right.
The stand be sponsored I can live with who really notices it I never have until know, but on the shirt well that’s totally different. Moxey face on the unveiling was greed personified he was almost dribbling…the fat b…..d.
I noticed Moxey didn’t say how much the deal is worth with MoneyShop not that it makes any difference.
Just boycott next year’s shirts. That will teach Jez that he needs to take fan opinion into consideration.
Make it embarrassing to own one of them.
Less income from a lack of shirt sales might change their way of thinking.
Like Wolves sitting mid-table with one eye on the holiday pages of Teletext, my Prediction League hopes are over for another year.
Hence I’m backing a masterclass in attacking football with Siggy bagging himself a hat-trick of the calibre Pele could only dream of.
The Reason Moxey cant find a buyer is he doesn’t want one…
If I were milking half a million a year for being a complete and utter tosser with no values who is a disgrace to mankind, why would I want someone upsetting things…
How anyone can predict a result or would even want to.. is beyond me…
Boycott the shirts for the next 3 years and any s**t they sell in the club shop with that offensive logo..
How come all these other championship clubs who Moxey spouts on about have got terrible foreign owners and we wouldn’t want to be like them… cus they are all in debt.. Blah Blah Blah…
They actually play in the same league as us and aren’t all the worse off on the football side…
Just Saying like..
You don’t often see a fat old person…my real prediction is Moxey won’t be around too much longer. Here’s hoping!
Hope that’s true, as it means I will lose some weight.
But you will still be old,……………………and ugly!!!
See you in three wicks!
FOwb
That train is approaching the station.
Wolves win…………..
1,974 when I filled it in. Hate Money Shop – they really riped me off and made me bankrupt.
To anyone who is still unsure what this is all about please read this…
http://www.wccul.co.uk/news.asp?id=59
I apologise to anyone if they place in the prediction league is more important..
Sorry, but you’ll have to do better than that to prove that the two things are connected. And yes, I have signed the petition and yes, I do find the clubs decision despicable.
I am always surprised by the ultimate optimism of the Wolves fans. Even though we have been absolute crap most of the season and we are playing a team vying for promotion, the majority are predicting a positive result. I hope you are all correct. I personally think we are gonna get ámmered!
I have never met vicsmith, but he has pretty much gone word for word with what I was about to write… although I would have had an h in hammered.
I tried to give it a cockney accent 🙂 Not bad for a Maltese bloke living in OZ!
it’s ‘ammered as in ‘ull…………………. yes we probably will, as we don’t have a striker capable of shooting the ball into the net. Only 3 goals in the last 5 matches !
A little out of touch with other things going on at the moment. On KMac who hasnt had an elbow off Jackett this season ? Danny Batth is the only player i can think of who hasnt been dropped several times and just generally messed about. Morgan Moxey and Moneyshop it sort of fits doesnt it.
Watched the corresponding fixture in a sports bar in Weston super Mare last summer full of optimism. I’ll be doing the same tonight full of apathy. What an exciting life I lead. Expect the same score.
It’s been a shit week and I don’t expect it to get any better tonight.
Beware the rising power of the housing association. They’re coming for you too, even though you may be nothing to do with them. Moxey is nothing.
(Have you noticed if you type Moxey in lower case, predictive text changers it to money?
As we do better away from home I’m going for the win and defened like mad so it COYW
Nothing positive to say about Wolves at the moment.
Future quotes: JM ” if they dont buy the shirts we cant fund transfers.”
KJ: “if im asked if the free transfers all have a point to prove. I’d say yes they do.”
SM:”red row building 500 New premises for money shop is a completely different deal.”
“Undisclosed transfer fees and business deals does not mean WWFC has an off shore bank account. “
I predict an end to end, free flowing exciting game. It’s just a shame I live almost 300 miles away and will miss it!!!! Lol.
Sadly I turned down a Pay Day loan because I thought it might look better on the tele.
Love Grayson’s quote that The MONEY SHOP want to work with WWFC on Community projects.
What a friggin loff…. they’re more likely after a list of potential customers (us fans) and secondly they’ve recently been ORDERED by the FCA to pay back all of the wrong and excessive overcharges they mistakenly made to many of its customers….WHICH WAS ABOUT 15.4 MILLION POUNDS.
Maybe they will be paying the Sponsorship deal with money made from this overcharging practice …..DIRTY MONEY.
Money Shop sponsorship clarified – so that’s OK then!!
if Morgan loved our club he would have had Redrow on the shirts……………….
Quote from Claudio Ranieri today.
“When you have a very good chairman, sooner or later, you build a good building. Everything starts from the boss.”
God, don’t Wolves fans know that.
Has anyone any idea how much the deal is actually worth? Will it be enough to be able to buy a decent forward, playmaker and a CD?
I’ve signed the petition. The Money Shop hoardings made me uncomfortable but having them as the main club sponsor is a step too far. Perhaps the club should redress the balance and give free publicity to debt charity Step Change? Anyway, I guess I’ll stick to my Goodyear shirt for a while longer.
I have no great confidence for tonight but as I’ve already achieved mid table obscurity in our league there is nothing riding on this.
Lets try and get into the head of a would-be owner of Wolves , what would be the the reason for such an expensive venture?
The first things that come to mind are status (look at me! I own a football club) and commercial activities (as per the Morgan/Redrow model).
Now imagine some social gathering/social function attracting the more wealthy members of society, I think we can all visualize the owner of Wolves arriving in a top of the range vehicle and enjoying the kudos of being such an ‘important person’.
Do you think such a person is likely to display a Wolves badge on his car if the image also includes the Moneyshop logo? I think not; so at a time when we are desperately trying to attract a new investor, our board are creating barriers that may put some off offering financial support. Whilst we have no new owner, Moxey stays in place – method in his madness perhaps.
As for the game, a similar performance to the MK Dons match is about all we can hope for.
Who knows? We should get slaughtered, bur nothing would surprise me.
Quality will show in this one I’m afraid. Hope I’m wrong. COYW!
Dull City we ain’t..
I can’t believe Siggi is up front !
Ikeme; Doherty, Iorfa, Hause, Deslandes; Price, Saville, Edwards (c); Henry, Helan, Sigurdarson
subs:
Martinez, Hayden, Coady, Le Fondre, Enobakhare, Hunte, Mason
Danny B is at home with some illness hence the change in defence.
OMG! Just seen the team. Whilst the defence is actually exactly what I wanted the rest is pure garbage and further proof that Jackett is incompetent. Drops Coady who has been outstanding in recent weeks. Plays Sigurdason up front with Henry and Helan on the wings? Is that the worst front 3 we have EVER fielded? Saville retains his place? Keeps Hunte and Enobakhare on the bench? Why? McDonald not even on the bench? Why? Kenny you have lost it, you are a prize fool. Not one player with flair or the ability to take someone on or make something happen or provide some excitement. No quality – those with it are either sat on the bench or left at home. Too late to change my prediction but if I could it would be 4-0 to Hull. So depressed I won’t even bother watching it on TV. How much more can I take?
Blimey just expecting to read views on the game and evermore is up in arms.probably quite rightly but why is anyone surprised football sold it’s soul years ago now more than ever money is what it’s all about most clubs have links in some way to money or gambling firms. As for tonight must be our youngest defence for years let’s try and support them.
Another draw to go with the many.
We look toothless bar Henry; Edwards will be unfit. No Batth? Even less talking at the back
Not since the mid-1980’s can I remember us fielding such a dire midfield and attack. No quality, no flair, no ability, no-one capable of taking someone on and making things happen. Just a bunch of plodding workers who run around a bit. Enobakhare did more in 2 minutes than the rest did in 90. Jackett is clueless and seems threatened by real footballers with skill and they clearly do not fit in with his small minded and narrow concept of football. No wonder liar Moxey said this week that he was perfect for the job as he is a willing yes-man to the Morgan/Moxey plan to turn us into a small-time club. Get these arses out of our beloved club now! Please!
What a lesson…..
If K Mac had played using his passing prowess we could of really taken advantage of Hull’s shit play but no,that avenue of pleasure has seemingly been removed..
In the next home match if we made a request from the crowd for (anyone) to train our team I reckon they would do a better job than who we have at the moment..
Why can’t we coach? and that includes a goalkeeper coach ..wtf re Ikeme their 1st goal……
I really don’t see how you can equate an individual mistake with ‘bad coaching’.
As an ex ‘keeper I don’t need to be coached not to let the ball bounce off me into the path of an oncoming opposition striker. It was a bad error, plain and simple.
It’s dead easy to pass the buck.
“Oh sorry Mr Client, that might have been a rotten logo I designed for you, but it’s not my fault, blame my Art College Graphics Tutor for bad coaching.”
Oh! Yeah!
just heading off to bed having maintained a media black out all day and now just watched recorded dross;; I mean game.
So we start by virtually throwing the ball in our own net…..the overall match would have embarrassed two pub teams from Brierley Hill. The commentator in the USA was virtually apologising to viewers for the sh%t they were watching.
I became conflicted as the game wore on as the team in gold and black looked to me to be the one that could at least trap and pass the ball to one of their own players rather than hoof it hopefully up the pitch
The final free kick would not have been out of place in this week’s Champions’ League matches ,,,one moment of quality in an interminable 90 minutes
Is there a case for euthanasia here? If this was my dog I’d have it put down at the vet
Have not watched the match yet. But as this season is meaningless the only thing I am interested in now is the prediction league lol. As I predicted a loss that gives me another two points.
