Fair play to Carl Ikeme.

He wasn’t going to let this descend into another stalemate, offering up the opening goal with some exhibition butter fingers.
For many, including myself, it looked all but over after that early calamity so it was pleasing to see Wolves work their way back into the game.
And that’s exactly what they did. The equaliser wasn’t a goal out of nothing, it capped a strong 10 minute spell in which Hull were out-battled and out-maneuvered.
George Saville wasn’t going quietly into the night and was fortunate to stay on the pitch after one particularly messy tackle.
Jeremy Helan gave the team mobility to match the muscle and his cross was arched perfectly onto the reliable bonce of Dave Edwards.
Pleased to see him back out on the pitch too and doing what he does best, getting on the end of crosses to score important goals.
I think Kenny Jackett has been charitable in speeding up his return to the side in the hope of increasing his chances of making the Wales squad, but Edwards’ performance more than repaid the gesture.
On a side note, Chris Coleman would be bonkers not to include our long serving midfielder, given his work ethic and perhaps more importantly, ability to find the back of the net.
Conor Coady can count himself unlucky to be the man left out, but I think the inclusion of a willing forward runner gave the midfield more balance.
Danny Batth’s illness allowed two positive things to happen.
Dominic Iorfa was moved into the center of defence which is where I believe his future lies. Aside from a few typically leggy moments, I thought both he and Hause had good games.
The same can be said of Deslandes who slotted in effortlessly at left back and did very little wrong, save for one mistimed tackle that could and perhaps should have resulted in a spot kick.
But we’ll forgive him for that and I think we can forgive Wolves this unfortunate defeat, given that it took a wonderful free kick coupled with some horrible luck to prevent them making it seven games undefeated.
I’m steadfast in my belief no manager could get more out of this current group and we’ve seen in the performances that there’s a solid base to build from next season.
Kevin McDonald will be one chip to fetch a tidy sum when he’s inevitably cashed-in and hopefully that will allow us to bring in the one or two dynamic attacking players to compliment a competitive group.
And whatever this group is lacking the one thing you can’t accuse them of is not being competitive.

Sorry mate, you know I love you, but to passively accept McDonald’s departure as some sort of positive is ludicrous. Did we replace Sako (despite Moxey ‘knowing the gig’?). No. Did we replace Dicko? No. Did we replace Stearman? No (4 months later we did with the bizarre Williamson cherade) did we replace Afobe? No.
We won’t replace McDonald. Not with any quality.
We’ll get a lad in from Crawley on an undisclosed fee, Moxey will protest that it was in fact a considerable fee (without ever disclosing it) and we’ll also get a lad in from Solihull Moors to put in our u21 squad.
That’s how it works.
We’ll then be told we ‘do things properly’, I’ll be told not to bother supporting the club if I place any demands on what the hell is going on and out on the pitch, players like Dave Edwards will be heralded as the future because there literally isn’t any other discernible glimpse of quality anywhere else.
And Rome will continue to burn.
I thought the match report was fair and just and the team well deserving the plaudits. But I agree with you Ben on the outlook for next season (and beyond)
Our squad gets younger (aka cheaper) with every passing transfer window, but this Young Puppy, so eager to grow up and play with the other dogs is unable to because it has a huge tick sucking at its neck… no matter how hard the pup tries to scratch if off, there it remains… bleeding it dry … Unlike other parasites however that let go when they’ve had their fill, this bloodsucker has a particularly insatiable greed and clearly will not drop off until either it, or the dog dies.
Creatively, yes. He’s by no means irreplaceable. Here are the stats from wolves.co.uk: http://www.wolves.co.uk/stats/player-stats/
… and Lee Evans may be ready for championship: 3 assists and 2 goals. Saville has surprised me. His workrate is probably higher than McDonalds. He’s a box player comparable to David Edwards(?). Saville might never been given the chance to prove his potential if it wasn’t for the interest in McDonald. And we’ve got Coady also. No crisis in my view.
If Price could develop his game in the last third of the game, we could perhaps have the perfect replacement, although his assist and goal stats are shockingly low. His passing rate suggests it’s his mentality, not ability.
Thanks for an honest report. It makes a change from other clubs reports. We where not very good last night but the last 8 games have been the same..
I think we pretty much matched Hull all over the pitch. We were both as bad as one another. Good to see Dangerous up and running again and I for one believe he should keep his place. After all, he’s the only player we’ve got who scores regularly.
No disgrace to lose to that Snodgrass free kick. No keeper/defence in the world could have kept it out and if Messi had done it, it would be all over the world’s media for days.
All in all, a disappointing evening, but hey, things can only get better.
Edwards has 4 goals, roughly 1 in 6 and is effectively a utility striker…he is not the Messiah
Yes but Siggy has no goals in about sixteen years and is INeffectively a so called main striker.
…and he’s not even a member of the Peoples’ Front of Judea.
Thanks Thomas , il disagree on most of what you say mind ! I set my alarm for 2 30 but then decided to stay in bed as I recorded it thank god !! Watched it at 6 30 before taking my boy for training, managed to squeeze 93 mins into about 45 with the ff button, mostly watching the keepers trying to out kick each other!! Always liked Edwards though and have always thought he should be first in the team sheet ,mcdonald exclusion is bezzare mind , would like to know what really happened there but hey this is wolves. Not the most transparent of organisations !!! Jacket is really pissing me off now though , talking but saying nothing!!! Anybody know if the poor buggers who made the trip were rewarded (pie x pint ) by the hiararchy?
On a more general note, I must have become desensitised..
I must confess to not being an STH which I accept does render any comments that I make less weighty.
But I never leap off the sofa when we score now nor dive into deaths of despair when we concede.
I’m sure that many on here are made of stronger fibre than myself but if this is happening to me then the more casual supporters must be well and truly in the throes of planning alternative activities for their match days. Indeed, I may have become one of them which would be shame after 55+ years as a loyal “customer”.
‘But I never leap off the sofa when we score now nor dive into deaths of despair when we concede.’
This is what comes with ‘experience’ – take it from me…
It’s amazing how five people can watch a match and see five completely different games.
I’m pretty much with you Thomas.
The first few minutes we were nothing short of shocking but we gradually worked our way back into it and in the end deserved at least a draw.
The defence looked, Ikeme’s aberration apart, as secure as I’ve seen for some time. I love Danny B as a person and as a role model for the club but it did look more sure without him there.
Dangerous Dave, as most bloggers should know by now, would always be in my Wolves team in the Championship because HE SCORES IMPORTANT GOALS. He got one yesterday and nearly bagged another.
To be perfectly frank, neither side would survive for five minutes in the rarefied atmosphere of the Premier League but at least we passed the ball a bit and looked like a team.
Where we fall down horribly is in the business third of the pitch.
Siggy ran about to better effect than I’ve seen for a bit but he is NEVER going to score enough goals (or any goals) to warrant being picked as a striker.
We desperately need someone who is going to score us twenty goals a season. Get well soon Nuoah Dicko.
I watched the match on Sky and was reasonably pleased with the performance. We’ve shown we can match most sides near the top of the table – although that’s not saying much.
Such a shame that Doherty gave away that silly free kick because Hull never looked like scoring if the game had gone on for another 90 minutes.
Unfortunately, neither did we.
I didn’t mention Sigurdarson Mr Doogooder, perhaps you would like Dave played as a number 9 then? Certainly he does jack apart from score 6-7 times a season
No, I think Dave is fine played where he is as support to the striker(s).
He is a midfielder and is our second highest goalscorer.
He’s scored more than all our strikers and all but one of our midfielders.
Not too bad for someone who’s been out injured for some time and does jack s**t.
Gutted to lose it in the way we did. Do want to point out that any keeper who had not moved for the last minute winner, wouldn’t have conceded. As good a free kick it was, it wasn’t that good as it didn’t go in without Ikemes intervention.
Nothing against Ikeme, just pointing out how unfortunate we were with an mistake for the first and a own goal for the second. On another night it could have been a 0-1 Wolves win.
Still, I was generally impressed with the performance. We were the better team in the second half
Up the wolves!!
I watched the match and at the end I thought we were unlucky to lose to a great free kick, but on reflection we did play better than of late with a side who on paper looked a bit lacking to give the likes of the mighty Hull a game.
Still think Hacketts to blame with his team selections and lack of tactics.
With him we will never get to the prem whatever money he has.
Just noticed on the telly that Tony Pulis appears to have one long eyebrow. Never noticed that before. Well done to Saido today with his penalty attempts. Cheered me up anyway. Oh and welcome to the Villa.
Ben I totally agree with ALL you say.
Unless we get a new owner in asap it will be the same again next season.
‘No manager could get more out of the current group’. Wow. Trouble is the ‘current group’ changes every few weeks. This season there has been no ‘group ‘,solid base’ or ‘build’. The signs are we will just keep haemorrhaging players (as it is you Thomas i looked it up !). And none of our talented young players seem to be getting passed the stage of being our talented young players.
What really pissed me off was the skycommentator saying Hull were promoted automatically with the same number of points wolves got last season yet didn`t even make the playoffs.
Friday night was a shite game, lacking in any real quality except the super free kick, where did that come from?
Can we get a decent striker on a free transfer at end of season (and pay his wages), without this next season will be another almighty anti-climax. Could have been and should have been so much better, but then we are wolves. Still very pissed with the defeat.
The match first … I felt that we were desperately unlucky not get anything from the game and at times I couldn’t help but think that our midfielders made the wrong choice of pass whereas the right one would have created better goal scoring opportunity.
However the record book will show we lost.
There’s no doubting that we have some talent that is progressing but unless we get out of the cycle of selling our best players or not supplementing this with quality additions we will go nowhere. Even Peter Beagrie made that comment.
Regards our cut and burn strategy … the policy sickens me … why on this planet are we seeking to get rid of McDonald by treating him like a naughty schoolboy having detention is bizarre….I’m with you Ben 100% on this issue….cheap .. cheap ..cheap.
It can only end when Morgan and Moxey clear off ( and Money Shop) and give us our club back to someone who has the same ambition to put it back where it rightly belongs.
Unfortunately MrDoogooder you are looking the wrong way up the telescope, strikers and a creative number 10 are what we need not midfielders who do absolutely nothing apart from chip in with a few goals
Exactly Mrfatjack esquire. But until we get some who can score goals I will take the second highest scorer thanks.
Better than several so called strikers who do absolutely nothing….
…Full stop.
I want to know how Pulis’s son john has slimed his way back on our blog
I sort of did nt mind losing last night ..brilliant winning goal . Didn’t matter to wolves , but fair play to Steve Bruce . Constantly building good attacking midfield sides , thought wolves did well though !!
Funny thing about Steve Bruce … We don’t want him …. He’s not good enough for wolves!! Blah blah !
Probably the best manager in this division .. Not bad in the prem either really . How disrespectful were wolves fans to him eh?
Bit like old jackett really .. Fuck off jackett .. Your not good enough for wolves.. Blah blah !!
Makes me laugh
Anyway ! As much as I like. Kenny .., big Sam … When are you coming home ?
Well said mate!
Bruce would have been the perfect fit for us but we all thought he was not good enough for a ‘Massive’ club like Wolves.
A massive club who’s last bit of silverware (The Sherpa Van?!) was won nearly thirty years ago and who have spent exactly four seasons struggling in the Premier League since its inception.
Big Sam would be great too, but he was never coming here under the present regime and certainly will never if he gets Sunderland out of trouble.
Kenny Jackett isn’t many peoples’ idea of the perfect manager but Wolves aren’t many managers’ idea of the perfect club.
Like Charlton with Curbishley and Newcastle with Pardew we have to be careful what we wish for.
I agree with Ben. To accept McDonald’s departure with such a whimper is tant amount to saying I don’t care who we sell, well you should because if one thing the McDonald saga proves is Jackets is willing to for go the teams success out of spite, difference of opinion or just plane doing his masters bidding which means we will never hold on to our better players which means years of mediocrity.
Kenny Jackett’s limitations as a manager were laid bare here for all to see as soon as the team was announced. Without question anyone with flair or individual skill or quality does not fit in with Kenny’s small minded and narrow concept of football. IIt’s been obvious really all season but these past few weeks have confirmed it. A good coach would be able to harness those flair players into a winning system – after all you can’t have a team of 11 Dave Wagstraffe’s or 11 Peter Knowles as we all know. You need a blend of hardworkers, tough tacklers, ball winners etc to lay the platform for and provide the ammunition for the flair players. With Kenny it seems he loves 11 workers.
Currently McDonald is the latest victim of tiny-minded Kenny having been abandoned despite clearly being the most talented and skilful midfielder we possess. Mind you Mason isnt far behind. Now I’m not sure where his best position is either Ken but the lad has something, the ability to produce something out of nothing, to take someone on and beat them – so like McDonald he is no good to Ken.
Earlier in the season we had Afobe – our best and at times our only striker – playing in midfield. Odd then that Premier League Boringmouth play him as a lone striker, up front, where he can score goals. Kenny didn’t know where to play him of course. Afobe’s failure to thank Kenny for what he’d done to improve him spoke volumes. Then there is Dicko. His season ending injury can mask the fact that early season before his injury Kenny didn’t know where to play him either. Reports of training ground bust-ups, Dicko mysteriously dropped for the trip to Cardiff. Remember?
Then there are the wingers. Jordan Graham for starters. It was 21 November, almost 4 months into the season, at Ipswich before Kenny gave the lad a game. Why? Too much skill I guess, too much flair. Hey presto he won rave reviews in virtually every game he played in so why didn’t Kenny stick him in bacvk in August? After all it’s as if we had ‘spared no expense’ in replacing Sako is it? Sheyi Ojo is another. Kenny didn’t rate him and rarely played him seeing Wallace and Byrne as better options. Really Ken? I mean REALLY? England U21’s and Jurgen Klopp beg to differ with you there me olkd mucker. One can also make a case for Lee Evans too. Clearly skilful but maybe a bit too much swagger, too much of a maverick? For Kenny anyway.
So Ken carries on with his team of workmanlike plodders – all good lads who try hard and mean well (just like Kenny) but who in the final analysis are not good enough. Nowhere even close. Where is our pace going forward, scaring the life out of defences? Henry? Where is our skilful creative ‘number 10’? Dave Edwards? Where is our unpredictable yet lethal striker leading the line? Sigurdason? Where is our cultured passer of a ball threading a defence splitting pass through? Saville? In short in Kenny’s teams where is anyone who gets the crowd excited when they get the ball. Where is a player who gets you to your feet with a buzz of excitement wondering what he will do? Le Fondre? I don’t think so.
Moxey sees us as a small-time little local club. He said as much at the Fans Parliament. He does not see us as a big ambitious top flight club pushing for Europe. Kenny Jackett as manager is therefore perfect for Moxey and, no doubt, the timid little Scouse git Morgan. Small-time, small-minded, plodder.
Oh how I pray for a new owner to dispense with Moxey and Thelwell and Jackett. I was there singing ‘KennyJackett’s Gold and Black army’ with the rest back in League 1. But that was League 1. We are now, supposedly, aiming for the top. We therefore need to not just keep our quality players we need to use them effectively – we need to play them! Therefore we need a good manager. Someone with flair and ambition and an understanding of progressive football.
Bedford mate you’ve save me a Blogg, excellent mate agree totally with every word.
Well said my man,but you’ll still get the happy clappers on this blog to differ.
Well said Bedford.
I think you speak for us all.
Still baffles me as to why Siggi manages to get into the squad never mind starting a match – he has a good engine and can run all day. Maybe he should take up marathon running as he has very little footballing skills.
As for the game itself, nothing to shout about. The youngsters at the back did a pretty decent job and Dave Edwards again put in a great shift and a great goal – something even Dave haters – fatjack that would be you – would surely acknowledge if they had an ounce of sense.
As soon as the ref blew for the free kick at the end I just knew it would end up in the back of the net but I felt nothing as this was a nothing match – just like this season as been a nothing season.
No idea what to expect next season but then this is Wolves…….
Expect lots more of the same next season sevlow unfortunately mate , just on Edwards , first time I saw him up close was when wolves played a couple of preseason games at the waca Perth , games were crap but the free open training sessions were great , warming up the lads did a few laps , after two laps he was already 200 metres in front, after 3 laps he was closing in on a spluttering ebanks Blake at the back ha you could here s e b swearing, not making a point here just that as we need a Seb to nock em in , we need an Edwards to provide that something else , and a few decent goals Utw
Criminal result at the end with a beckhamesque free kick …I wish we could do that..
Mmm..we held our own but more so Iorfa in the middle looks a spectacular switch and even for me replace’s the Williamson situation which must be a story in itself..
My personal take on next season where this sort of fixture really matters is that if we could optimise our strategy then the squad plus two new players and kept free of injury could do really well..
That would mean Dicko..Graham.. Zyro..to do the business up front..
To hold a draw for 90mins yesterday against an alleged auto promo candidate after giving them one was a result until the dying minute..
I think with the juniors in the wings too if we had the right manager to deal with all that then we’d have a chance in the future but unfortunately we have to endure KJ who incidently I think is truely bolted in.
Add the ghost buyer who never materialises and I for one are worried that it will all go pear shaped again next season ..
This game had all the clues that we could ultimately make the promised land..but we so desperately need
a better manager who can build a stable promotional unit…
Say on par with Leicester…….
Nice one Jez, Feck what the fans think or what?
Other news: quote of the week
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey – relaxed about fan unrest around the club’s new shirt sponsor, payday lender The Money Shop, whose parent company was forced to pay out £15.4m last year due to “serious failings” that “caused detriment for many customers”. Moxey: “I don’t think we could have associated with a more reputable firm.”
Disappointing result, decent performance albeit lacking a bit (quite a lot in fact) in the transition from defence to attack. Deslandes did ok, (and will get better with more experience), as did the whole defence which was well protected by a workmanlike midfield. But that same midfield lacks a creative spark. If KMac couldn’t even get on the bench, given the paucity of our resources it tells you that he is on his way out the door. The key to next season is to get a player of similar qualities in, and quickly.
Once again, especially with nothing to play for, if McDonald is up for sale, why not put him in the shop window, so he can show his talents, instead of tucking him away at the back of the store to gather dust?
Another chapter in the “How The Fuck Did Morgan Get To Be A Successful Businessman” book.
Beggars belief, up there with all the other baffling decisions he has made.
Must be getting some bostin bj’s to keep his mind elsewhere!!!
FO wb
Think the last comment the best on Margan I’ve read, sums up this season really like a bad ‘Carry On’ film with The Money Shop sponsorship adding to the trauma or comedy , depending on your taste!
But unlike most think the main reason for an underperformance this season is the unbelievable amount of injuries to star players, & the lack of direction from Mr BJ & his CEO.
It’s a bad situation & will only get worse if we lose Jackett. Can’t understand the anti Edwards tack that’s really strange! A player who gives nothing less than his heart & soul to the cause, & quality.
Oh well we see the game very differently despite supporting the same team.
RVLP now getting world beating plaudits from Huddersfield fans, & Ojo playing for the Scousers in the Prem. Shows how tough it is to judge players.
Don’t hold much hopes for next season unless we get a decent owner in. Agree on the Bruce points as well he was my choice for gaffer, but I think I heard Wolves fans were unhappy & the Board did’nt appoint. A grave mistake in my opinion.
Let’s be clear here … The non appointment of Steve Bruce should never be levelled at Wolves fans having a voice. …. Since when did the Scouse Mouse and Fatso ever take any notice of what we say… Err The Money Shop .. And Poxey’s comments!!!!
No disrespect to you Allen …
Given the Squad he has at Hull Bruce is doing a s**t job… and he knows it… Not for me thanks… We more than matched them in both games this season which tells its own story.. They wont go up..
Whether or not it made a difference, the fact remains that not many of us wanted him in.
We must not let KJ become the fall guy for the poor poor season that we have had.
Antipathy reigns now right now but we can take crumbs of comfort from the last couple of months.
OK not champagne football, but the rot has stopped, the ship has steadied..
I for one think KJ should be applauded for his handling of the embarrassing ownership of Wolves..
I would love to know who was responsible for signing Joe Mason tho…
To be fair to the clubs hierarchy; Moxey et al – we have had a crippling and ridiculous amount of injuries to contend with as well.
i`m sorry but I have to disagree with your conclusions. Yes, we have mediocre players and a big injury list. But so do many other clubs who are far less well off financially than we are. Many of these teams do well despite such impediments, primarily because the coach [ or manager ] uses what he`s got available to him to best advantage and with consistency.
Mr Jacket has proven to be totally inept. His selection inconsistencies and endless tactical changes are mind blowingly stupid. He is petty, — as evidence by his treatment of McDonald our only constructive midfielder — not caring what adverse effect this must have on the team as a whole. The result is that the mediocre bunch that we have playing for us can have no idea week on week just what is expected of them. The ship has not been righted. We have somehow managed to scrape some results despite playing very badly almost every game. The whole thing is a farce
My summation is that nothing good can happen for Wolves as long as Jacket stays. He should go now. Period.
Hi Mike,
KJ has proven that he can play attractive passing football. I think he has taken a pragmatic approach to ensure we did not slip into a relegation scenario..
I strongly suspect that KJ has been told K Mac will be sold in the summer and this is the root cause of his absence.
Losing Sako, Afobe, Dicko, Stearman, Graham, Zyro is going to hurt any club at this level and even then on top of that Edwards, Batth and Henry etc have been missing for periods as well not to mention Williamson..
I agree the club is a farce but not the actual team. What more can we expect from what is essentially a group cobbled together from academy players and young lower league prospects?
I would love to know the exact process on signing players though, i.e Mason.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a £3M signing but to not play him is inexplicable?!?!!? HOW can he be worse than Sigurdarson. If this is down to KJ then I would agree this is not good management in this particular case.
I fear for the club were KJ to exit, the next manager could be a TC or a Saunders….
For me, the problem has not been the injuries, all clubs suffer from them, it is what we have done about them.
The same as what was done about so called star players moving on, Sako, Stearman, Afobe, and the answer is a resounding fuck all.
THAT is bad management, and all four are collectively to blame.
Agreed Clive… The injuries are a poor excuse… anybody knows you need 2 good players for all positions… Strength in depth…
Unfortunately that costs money… and our owner who is worth 3 quarters of a Billion don’t forget… doesn’t want to spend any….and because a few good souls had a little moan at him about that he threw his toys out of the pram..
The best thing to come out of this game was the a pairing of Hause and Iorfa in the center of defense. Both have power and pace, as well as reasonable skill on the ball. This must surely be something for us to build on.
However, the pairing came about by pure accident rather than from any inspiration from our useless coach. No doubt he will now do everything possible to undermine the result
Quote from Tim Spiers, on Siggy’s performance at Hull, in his post match video “he offers something that no other Wolves striker can”
That’s right Tim – he doesn’t score goals!
I dont like to single players out but this lad is miles away sadly….
Players can improve and confidence is everything but I cant see him getting a new deal other than for him to be sold on…
Dim but Tim Spears the fearless Express and Star reporter who asks the questions that nobody wants asking and avoids the questions that need asking………yeah more sense and balls my seven year old daughters got than Timothy.
Staying with friends in Cheltenham at the w/e and went to see their championship securing win v Halifax on Saturday. Only in the second half when he was standing right in front of me did I realise that our on-loan g/k Jon Flatt was in the Cheltenham goal. Didn’t have enough to do to assess his chances but he was able to rely on a couple of mighty centre backs. And then on a quick visit to Wightwick Manor on the way home, I was chuffed to see a couple of Wolves annuals on the bookshelves! Enough of the travelogue!
Partnership with the Money Shop is the latest nail in the rickety structure currently at WV1. Injuries, lack of imaginative or even effective transfer activity, imbalance in the experience of the squad, ownership uncertainty, M&M corporate s**te-speak, inconsistency the only consistent feature of our performances, constant crap from the nearest spokesperson about ambition for the next game/season end/next season and how we’ll keep fighting to the end of the season etc etc etc, all making for one of the least memorable seasons I can remember and leading to the inevitable divisions in the fanbase. I can only hope for a reshaping of the sense of direction over the summer – the hope lies in the youth of the squad, the return of the wounded and the background of another year’s experience. KJ deserves a further season having navigated through the current unsupportive mire – and I’m not sure what it is that Bruce has done that makes him such an attractive option. Nice bloke, sensible views, pretty good at getting out of the championship but as others have said, arguably underachieving with his Hull squad and no track record post-promotion.
I think your ‘pretty good at getting out of the Championship’ makes him a decent shout Andrew.
One problem would be that I think he and Jez would be fighting over the last pie and the board room shiraz would take a bit of a hammering.
As for Wightwick Manor, what a fabulous place!
Trouble is, such managers get teams out of the Championship, then clubs quite reasonably have a sense of loyalty and few then hack it in the Prem, as we know! Eddie Howe is one of the exceptions – so far – along with the Curbishley we missed.
I thought reference to Wightwick would attract your attention, Doog, after our previous exchange re Coleton F and Wightwick! Ours was a ‘taster’ visit towards closing time and we need longer, but it looks amazing.
Any thoughts of a new manager is premature.
If Jackett is replaced by the current owner and his toady, we will get someone who has bought into their bullshit.
This we do not want.
We NEED a new owner, who will attract a manager who has seen the shambles our club has become, and is confident he can do much better.
Who that person may be, I have no earthly idea.
Someone we know of?
A complete unknown?
Anyone’s guess.
On the positive side, we are not the shambles the Villa is, and we will NEVER be as shit as the shit.

My forecast of a gritty 1-1 draw was looking good until the substitution at the death. Did seem odd to bring on young Bright at that point. But, playing devils’ advocate, what if Bright scored the winner for us? We’d be hailing that as a Jackett masterstroke wouldn’t we? Maybe Kenny had that in mind. After all, we’re not going down and we need to see what the kids can do.
I’m guessing that John Grayken (owner of Lone Star group, Money Shop etc) will be investing before the new season starts. Morgan will retain a stake but I hope it’s just a minority stake. Looks inevitable that Moxey will stay on, after all he knows where the bodies are buried and he won’t go quietly or cheaply.
Having watched Leicester’s game against West Ham on TV I wonder if they will become the first team in the history of English football to win the League title on penalties?
Can’t wait to see Jez Moxey answer this one. Obnoxious Greasy bathplug.
