Stepping away from the on-field drama for a moment, it’s nice to see Wolves helping a good cause by raising some money for the British Legion.

In case you haven’t heard, the Wolves Community Trust are auctioning off the commemorative shirts our players wore against Arsenal. If you’re interested in bidding on one of the shirts, you can do so by visiting the Wolves eBay store here:

I must say, I’m intrigued to see which shirts sells for the biggest amounts and in turn, which shirts fetch the least. I was contemplating making a bid, but most of the tops have now surged far beyond what I was willing to pay.
As it stands at the moment, SEB’s shirt commands the greatest premium at £331.38, closely followed by Michael Kightly’s at £320 and Kevin Doyle’s at £311. Karl Henry is also running along quite nicely at £295.
The shirt I was tempted to go for though was Jody Craddock’s. Not only did he have a great game (in my opinion), but he scored at both ends, which is a great story to share when showing it off to friends and family. I’d also wager it represents the best deal if somebody was looking for an investment. But I suppose that’s not really in the spirit of the auction. It sits at 300 smackers already, so it certainly won’t come cheap.
Obviously, the tops attracting the least attention are those of players that didn’t manage to get on the pitch. Marcus Hahnemann in particular is going cheap at just £180. But if you’re looking for an outfield bargain player, The Hoff is only at £200 and last season’s player of the year Kevin Foley is only commanding £205.
Anyway, which shirt would you go for and how much would you pay? Maybe you’re already bidding. If so, good luck and let us know whether you’re successful or not.

crikey last time i checked, craddock was on £70. I was willing to pay about £100 but now they’ve all surged beyond that and i just cant afford it. darn.
i knew the SEB, doyle and henry shirts would be pricey but thought the others could be picked up for a bargin. i dont begrudge the money to a good cause its just i need to pay my rent first. ahh well. i’ll try the euro lottery again, would have been fun to by the whole squads shirts!
How much is Wolfie’s shirt?
Sam, I was prepared to pay a bit more at £150, but makes no difference given that most are already at double that. And clever eBay users know not to bid until right at the end, so it wouldn’t surprise me to see some of them go north of £500 as the clock ticks down.
Jed, interesting point. Does Wolfie have a shirt specially made or is it just an XXL?
I wonder how much Jez Moxey’s shirt and tie would fetch? Ben probably has a figure in mind.
Unfortunately I am only 14 and byin one fo the shirts would take away all the money in my piggy bank (actually Britannia).
Be great to get Jody’s as Thomas pointed out, as it would bring a story with it.
moxey’s shirt and tie could clothe the whole of zimbabwe’s population, such is the vast expanse of material needed to cover him. if i wanted it, i’d need to save for 1year, tear off vouchers k, d and b at the back of my book, fill out a pre-prepared form that came with my season ticket, acrue 1100 loyalty points…before jez swapped the shirt and tie back for a pie and a pint. even zimbabwe’s repressive dictator isnt that devious.
blimey has anyone checked the prices today. Doyle shirt has taken the lead at £450. SEB on about £420 and so far the wolvesblog group favourite is at £310.
Thats a good couple of grand for charity. fair play to the club for that!
