With the new season just around the corner whose up for a game of Championship Manager?

For the last 3 seasons we’ve had our own Wolves Blog league on Fantasy Premier League, but as we’re no longer part of that particular division, it doesn’t seem quite right to continue.
Fortunately, Phones 4u have been kind enough to sponsor a decent Championship version of the game. It’s not as detailed or comprehensive, but it should be good fun all the same.
If you want to join the Wolves Blog league, simply register your team on this site.
And when you’ve finished the PIN you need to enter in order to be added to our league is 3515.
If you experience any problems, just drop a comment below and we’ll help get you sorted out.
In addition to fantasy football, we’ll be continuing with the Wolves Blog Prediction League.
There will be an official preview before every game, so if you want to join in the fun, leave a predicted score as a comment and you’ll be included.
Only league games count towards the prediction league and I’m changing the scoring system this year, but more details on that in the upcoming preview for the Leeds game next week.

Surely the only question is why has Clive from Houston been so quiet?
Hope he is ok.
My thoughts completely Alf …
Forget Jarvo, Fletch, iski et al, what has happened to Clive?
Not seen since the ‘new guidelines’.
Clive, like a few others, wasn’t happy with the manner of some of the comments directed his way.
His complaint, along with a handful of others as well as the treatment of my colleague and good friend Ben prompted the harder line on what is and isn’t acceptable.
Hopefully Clive and the others will return when they feel sufficient action has been taken and they’ll be welcomed back with open arms when they do.
I miss Clive from Houstons’ frequent and often trenchant comments about our favourite club. As we hadn’t heard from him for a bit I just assumed he’d gone to Stoke or underland.
Good news
Peszko replaces Kightly:

A player known to Solbakken from his time in Cologne replaces Kightly. Surely a quality player.
Peszko the prophet:

I think what’s encouraging for me is that Solbakken clearly has a system and a style that he wants to play to and he’s bringing in the men suited to do so. No playing people out of position to suit the system à la Mick McCarthy. He seems to be buying the right tools for the job which hopefully means we’ll see a well oiled team with all the right moving parts take to the field at Elland Road.
…and I believe he’s even better than Kightly – if so we’ve strengthened.
At least he is bound to be less injury prone!
Since I don’t know the Championship that well I’ll steer clear of the Championhip manager, but let’s see what I can do with the Prediction League – I was up there with all my foolish optimism so let’s see what I can do with justified optimism! 😛
Looking forward to the fantasy season. Although my championship knowledge is a little limited compared to my premiership…
Last year marked my first attempt at fantasy football, quite enjoyed that and did better than what I’d have expected. Will definitely line up a team, even though my manager self is irritated by the financial side – I mean, what’s 10 millions for a person who’s already used to pissing off 100 millions for mid-table finish 🙂
Good news of the new load singing, I, for one, am optimistic about that guy. Awww, c’mon – roll on the season already!
I believe Clive of Houston is currently at the Compton, under going his medical, having already agreed terms with the club.
Clive must be a left-back!
Villa offering 13 Mill for Fletcher, I think its squeaky bum time.
Whats the thinking.
hahaha. That’s a large amount of money to buy a replacement for. We’ll get at least 2 of his kind in europe, africa, oceania, america :=)
Moxey’s done well. We grow stronger every day.
Oceania? Who?

This lad played up front for my Perth Glory 11 times without scoring
Not a reliable source but – apparently Fletch is going to Sunderland for £12 million ($15 with add-ons)
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2185056/Sunderland-close-capture-Wolves-striker-Steven-Fletcher.html
If true, it IS a great fee for him but I’m gonna be sad to see him leave… at least I like Sunderland better than Stoke!
What’s worst with this deal is the uncertainty. Who’s gonna replace him? Just like when Kightly left.
Sigurdason has already replaced Fletcher Karlir, no?
I actually have no problem with these outgoings, even if its a bit raw right now.
So if we are getting big whopping fees for them, then I don’t have a gripe with Moxey. Good on him.
My gripe with him comes when he pedals shit about ‘not selling our best players’ and then saying ‘we’ll only sell the players we don’t want to keep.’
The Fletcher / Kites episode is a microcosm of Jez Moxey.
A pathological liar whose idle, smug words undermines the good work he actually does.
I think you have captured it in one. You have said it better than I could.
Yes, as soon as we signed Sigurdarson I thought Fletcher would be sold – at least we have a replacement who appears to be decent and a new big man in Nouble to offer a plan B. So our attack seems to be strong enough, despite the comings and goings. Midfield appears to be coming together too.
Where is the defensive strengthening though?
You’re right about Moxey Ben, in the words of Ronan Ketaing, “You say it best, when you say nothing at all.”
We have already replaced Fletcher.
We need a couple of good, reliable defenders
As Hamlet says unreliable source (Daily mail) reporting Wolves and Sunderland have agreed a fee for Fletcher.
