Last season I thought Wolves did a great job of slipping under the radar.

Nobody seemed to be talking about us and that suited me as we made serene progress over the second half of the campaign.
Already this year though things have descended into farce.
Key players sold, unrest in the stands, indifferent form on the pitch and an owner who wants to sell up and move on.
I suppose Watford were a good example of a club who thrived in amongst the chaos, but they’re probably more the exception than the rule.
Fulham
I’m sick of hearing the word Fulham already and we’re not even into October.
Fulham have signed former Wolves man Jamie O’Hara, Fulham have bid for Richard Stearman, Wolves have turned down a bid from Fulham for Kevin McDonald.
But the Londoners have certainly backed Kit Symons to get it right this season and it looks like things are starting to come together.
The demolition job they did on QPR last time out laid down a marker and confidence is sure to be sky high.
Only Middlesbrough (17) have scored more than Fulham (15) in the Championship and that’s having played a game more.
Wolves
Had Preston not been severely handicapped by dismissals, it’s hard to believe Wolves would have found a way back into the game on Saturday.

There’s very little fluidity to our play at the moment and we’re less than convincing in either penalty area. A bit of pretty passing in midfield can’t paper over those deficiencies.
I would suspect it will largely be the same team that started at the weekend, possibly with Ojo coming in for van La Parra.
We could really do with Benik Afobe rediscovering his goalscoring touch. He spurned a few late chances against Preston, which would have been gobbled up earlier in the year.
The gaffer
Predictions
This one has defeat written all over it. Ex-players, home team on form, Wolves in turmoil, etc, etc.
I just hope if we are going down at Craven Cottage, we go down swinging, which means a more resolute defensive showing and a bit more guts in the final third.
Kevin McDonald didn’t take the easy pass on Saturday, he made something happen. We need more of that from our important players.
Still, I think we’re in for a long night in the capital.
2-0 Fulham.
Up The Wolves!

Going for the same prediction as the Preston game for two reasons. a) correct for once last time b) Still refuse to predict a defeat even though that is probably what will happen.
This has got Jamie O’Hara written all over it. I can see him scoring and more than likely not holding back in his celebrations.
This is so easy to predict. Stearman will naff up big style and we will be one up before half time after him scoring an own goal. O’Hara will miss a couple of sitters, as he is shite, and K Mac will bag a brace. Our defence will keep them out for a clean sheet too.

Even Morgan has lost faith?
I hope I’m wrong:
Fulham 2
Wolves 0
You will need to place your predicition in the boxes mate or it may not register.
Well most of us have got what we wanted with Morgan selling up but I can see even more problems there will be unrest in the players and management now, now I’m worrying who will buy us, hope it’s not no overseas bloke who don’t give a f*ck about us or we will be in the shite, I reckon another draw tonight
1 1 cmon the wolves.
You will need to place your predicition in the boxes mate or it may not register.
Come you wolves!!
The misery continues. When will it end. Depressing times I feel.
Turning point tonight, glory days ahead with the departure of Morgan and new owner(s) sacking Moxey.
How can someone speak so bullishly of their love for the club just a couple of weeks before selling up? This was a guy who promised to turn us into one of the powers of the game again yet leaves us where he found us, having taken us down to League One. He started building a new ground which will probably now never materialise. Did the criticism get too much? Maybe, but it seems odd a determined businessman like him would throw in the towel so easily. On the game, we’re sure to lose aren’t we?
Morgan goes from having his heart in Wolverhampton to getting the f**k out in two weeks.
That’s quick by any standards.
He says he will continue his financial commitment until the club is sold.
No new players then.
You would imagine that there would be turmoil behind the scenes but Kenny looks more relaxed than I’ve seen him for weeks.
Let’s hope the team get their heads right and give it their all tonight.
A draw would be a decent result given the shenanigans that have been going on lately.
We have all got what we wanted. But the thought of a new owner is still a frightening prospect.
I don’t much fancy watching us play in shocking pink and purple stripes at The Tata Stadium.
Tata Stadium – Tata Fans!
The Devil we know has left the building.
Who the Devil will we get to replace him?
Let’s just hope that whoever our new owner(s) is/are will view the club as one that can go far and input financially on the playing staff. The ground improvements can wait, getting us into the Premiership and keeping us there is our priority, or it should be anyway. It does not take the brains of an archbishop to know that getting in to the top flight will be rewarding financially. Fans will be happy and will therefore attend mor matches, better attendance results in better income such as gates receipts, pies sold etc etc. How he and Moxey not understanding that is beyond me.
Where did you get the idea that archbishops have brains???
Anyone who spends his life on his knees talking to a mythical being does not sound so clever to me.
I couldn’t remember the saying so I stuck anything down!!!
Let’s hope its not another bhattis situation! I’m not sure on this one, maybe him getting out will open the way for an owner who cares about the club, problem is there aren’t many out there.
My only problem with Morgan going is the timing, why not wait until we had a buyer lined up like the unmentionables had, then sell!
Still think we will be OK, but now is the time to all get together, support the lads and those in charge, even Moxey because we need unity!
Come on me babies we are right behind you!
It would be just like us to pull off a surprising result. Let’s not forget that we DO have the players to do so,
As it is, I’d take a draw. Seeing O’Hara celebrate passionately, which I’m sure he would should they beat us, would be a sickener.
Now is the time when circumstances dictate that we would not get a win. Then again we are Wolves. 3 points – thank you.
One down, one too go!!
if the players and the manager feel as we do then its
only joking about 9…0
Too late mate. Only your first prediction will be registerd. You will be gutted if we win 8-0 now lol
One of the pleasures of the last 2 seasons has been seeing Wolves develop and prosper from a counter-attacking game away from home. We seem to have lost this a little recently and now might be a good time to look to it again – indeed it may be very necessary against an in-form Fulham team with certain players looking to prove something. But I cannot see us getting anything out of this one, especially given the behnd-the-scenes turmoil.
I see this as a catalyst for a Wolves revival, the players must feel a big bullying Liverpool foot has been lifted off their necks, it will spur them on and I hope for a good display tonight to lift them into the top half of this league ready for a good push.
Afobe 1, Henry screamer and a Bahht header to secure it.
My glass is over flowing with optimism.
Loads of bloggers going to be there Tonight, a win will see the Derby game as another away sell out.
12th man to strike again.
COYW’s
Just looked at tickets. Then I looked at distance. Will take me 4 1/2 hrs to get down there, so will not get home until early hours. Guess I will be giving this one a miss. See you at the Parkview on the 24th Oct Stu.
And being as the 25th is Clivemas, you can have a few for moi!!
Will do. I’ll tell Stu that you said he’s buying!!
All this is just the beginning…
Would love to be proved wrong but I think we’ll get stuffed in this one.
I am going to stay optimistic and go for a hard fought win.
I get most predictions wrong – let’s hope my form continues.
Can’t see any other scoreline sorry.
One club heading towards the top after a couple of poor years. One club that is investing in the team to give it a go. Another club that is in turmoil and doesn’t have the character(s) to put it back ontrack.
re Morgan / Moxey 1 gone 1 to go
Mixed feelings about Morgans departure, although he ain’t gone yet. Benevolent buyers of football clubs aren’t exactly flocking to the West Midlands lately so we could be in a state of financial limbo for months to come. Maybe I’m wrong, and a wealthy new owner is already lined up. I hope so, ’cause more stagnation at this time is the last thing we need.
Fulham are on a high, we are on a low. Our big players aren’t performing and we have turmoil behind the scenes. Doesn’t bode well for a positive result, I’m afraid.
The bloke I feel sorry for is Richard Stearman.
He is in a no win situation tonight.
Beloved by Wolves fans, yet sold to finance morgan’s tart.
If Fulham win, and especially if he scores the winner, it will obviously be a blow to us.
If Fulham lose, their fans might accuse him of not trying.
His best bet is to be “injured” tonight!
As for O’Hara, well, fuck him.
My heart tells me we are going to go on a fantastic run from here on in, sweeping all before us as KJ unleashes his secret weapon of tactical genius, free from morgan’s stranglehold on the club.
A great red / yellow weight ( see my previous blog) has been lifted from the shoulders of everyone at the club, and the players will hopefully realize this, and respond positively.
I see six goals tonight, with Fulham only getting one.
And on a much lighter note, I spent a happy couple of hours goofing off yesterday afternoon, watching stripy pulis and co blow a two goal lead, at home.
Loff, the tears rolled down me legs!!
FOwb
“…Loff, the tears rolled down me legs!!..”
The back of your legs, I assume.
Come off it Houston I bet you were gutted!, only joking, i to went to bed happy, also our kids done us proud last Saturday doing the double over them.
Now for a good result tonight to lift some of the gloom!
We’re in turmoil and they have O’Hara and Stearman to show us what we are missing.
Missing O’Hara? What you drinking?
Sorry but this has got a right royal hammering written all over it. Clean sheet for Fulham with their experience at centre half.
The longer this poor form continues the more the value of the club declines and the less likely a sale can be agreed as I doubt Morgan will offer a discount. Who’s likely to be interested in buying a club that has a good chance of going down?
we’re on the verge of a very worrying time. Morgan leaving like this is NOT good news. Stearman playing against us having been gotten rid of = recipe for defeat. If Kenny can rouse the lads in terms of motivation and performance then I take my hat off to him but things do not change that quickly.
HOW can we play with so much toothless possession? How are we so easily nullified in attack? How does a soundly run club garner so much disgruntled support? How did we lose ower chairman? We have a burgeoning Academy, some excellent players and a good manager so why so poor of late? So many questions just illustrates the complexity of the game, let alone the business of running a football club and all its administrative and playing levels. I fear that those clambering for Morgan out will regret that wish
Only time will tell, but I am glad he has gone. We need investment to be in the players not the ground and I do not believe we have invested well enough in our players. Hopefully our new owners will do just that ………. I did say hopefully!!!!
the thing is, owners / buyers, willing to take on a club of our size, do not come along too often, especially a desirable owner and not a faceless oil baron or megalomaniac billionaire chicken farmer. I think Morgan’s time has been petering to a standstill in terms of his own motivation but we could be stuck in limbo for quite a while. Agreed, players, not stadiums, result in progress but the balance behind the scenes is a complex beast to manage and at the first sign of imbalance WOlves (fans, players, all) are the first to lose their heads and start in fighting. Nervy, unstable days ahead… a few wins on the pitch would be the perfect settler
A side that are second only to boro for goals scored vs a defence that averages a mistake every other game…think this one has defeat written all over it. Hope I’m wrong, COYW
…off the fence at last.
Having listened to Mr Morgan over the years spouting off about his love for Wolves one only had to look at the face and especially the eyes to see it was never genuine. I can only be thankful Sir Union Jack is not around to witness this because it would surely have broken his heart. We have I believe a very good manager in KJ and as for new owners please don’t let them be a Russian Oligarch or an oil rich Sheikh…..I know some would be happy for us to do a Man Sheiky or Chelski but I honestly would prefer the club to stay in the hands of a UK owner, don’t think we’ll ever get another Sir Jack but for pure business men the likes of what we have departing I would rather they didn’t bother. It went for a tenner last time maybe a whip around in the southbank at the next home game to get 20 quid and the fans can own it…..double the last offer……We all need to keep calm and have a bit of faith in KJ and the team, yes some stalwarts have left but a fairly decent team doesn’t become dross over night….we have the players to do well, do they have the character….I don’t get to many games because I live and work abroad but the fans now will play such an important part to build some confidence into the team
Forever Old and Gold
A club in disarray. I like Kenny a lot, but the spirit, ethos mojo or whatever just don’t seem there at the moment.
I hate predicting a loss, so I won’t. Note to Morgan*
It takes more than wearing a Wolves tie and drinking your
tea from a Wolves mug to be a supporter. Everyone
has tough times but they stick with it. You have not.
People were telling him to leave. Why stay when people don’t want you to?
I always suspected he was wearing Liverpool pants beneath the dodgy suits. Is that below the belt? Sorry.
Jackett has got a big task to get these boys focused again. I don’t see any reinforcements coming now we are in perpetual limbo so lets hope these kids can take the opportunity that has been granted them. Up the Wolves.
A shock win tonight.
Goodbye Morgan and hopefully Moxey soon enough.
Up the Wolves…
Keep the faith!!
It’s funny how all of you guys expect some new owner to come in an throw 100s of Millions of pounds of their money at the team.
You complain about how overpaid these players and their agents are and then you want some guy to come in and take part in it.
If I was a real scenic, I would say that the performances on the pitch so far this season have a bearing on the owners for sale sign. However the biggest reason is probably financial – after all its the last season of parachute payments, so whatever financial support was involved so far, with a playoff place looking very unlikely, it could be far more expensive to fund the club over the next couple of years.
And of course while the selling of our better players may just cover the shortfall and save Morgan`s cash, its a risk too far, and any sale of players would make the supporters even more antagonistic.
On the bright side, we are probably no worse off than we were before Morgan passed over his £10, but what an opportunity wasted. If he was a genuine fan ( we all know he isn`t ) then he would have surely gone for the premiership cash, because the club would have been worth far more had we been in the top level, had the cash but not the balls to go for it.
When he does actually find a buyer ( maybe he`s heard a rumour Liverpool are up for sale) then lets hope Moxey leaves at the same time.
I think you’ve called it right. This is purely a business/financial decision. Apart from facing having to fund the club more from his own resources next season, he has an expensive divorce settlement coming. On top of that, reading the financial press it seems that many businessmen are trying to hold a load of cash in anticipation of a stock-market crash, so they can then pick up assets cheaply. And we know Morgan is no fool when it comes to business. Be interesting to see if he tries to tie in the new owners to using Redrow for the future development of Molineux.
Out of darkness…
Please fasten your seat belts.
If we win then at least we will know the squad couldn’t stand Morgan either. However I fear the worst.
It’s a funny old game..amusing that apparently Morgan had a spat with supporters and then resigned..
I agree KJ is cool on interview ….one goal to them and us taking three chances out of three..
Our goalie has to be good and DB man of the match..
I’m looking forward to be there..
COYW
I agree. But I think Ebanks-Landell should play instead of Batth, as he is still a bit rusty.
I am joking!!!! Enjoy the match fella, hopefully with a win.
I was hoping that the resurgence was going to start last week. It didn’t. I cannot see it starting this week somehow – not with all that’s going on. Go on Wolves. please prove me wrong 🙂
I think we are going to somehow pull this one out of the bag
Utw
Stand up and fight
We need something to celebrate to night.
Wolves forever !
Call me an old romantic or whatever but at Preston I thought I saw the odd sign of a reawakening. Danny Batth’s return cannot be underestimated in terms of the impact it has on those around him. Ojo and McDonald looked ‘up for it’ and if only Afobe could also be invigorated along the same lines then who knows? I think Fulham will also be a bit complacent after bashing QPR 4-0 on Friday. Lets hope so anyway!
I can see us getting hammered???? we need to turn the corner quickly I just can’t see it happening.
all the ingredients are in place for a poor show at the cottage…
Stearman will score a brace.
We seem to have no chance tonight. With that in mind I am going for a Wolves win.
Miracles can happen………….
Oh yes !!!
I’ve found my lucky wolves badge .. It was in my holiday shorts
Nothing can go wrong now !
Keep it close mate. It works. How did we play?
The legend of Richard Stearman has grown like bamboo over the last month such that he has been transformed from hard working heart on his sleeve 110% journeyman professional to a cross between Beckenbauer and Passarella- the eminence blonde of the Wolves defence. He was prepared to put his body on the line and was as they say a man who you would want in the trenches with you despite the occasional risk of friendly fire. He may not have been the greatest reader of the game but he could look at the pictures without moving his lips. His runs forward reminded me of a bull looking for a china shop. I wouldn’t bet against him scoring tonight and or heading off the line. I am sure he will play with the passion he always put into his games for Wolves. Richard thanks and farewell (just not tonight.)
If we come away with a point I’ll be pleased
Narrow win by the skin of our teeth. Doubt it’ll actually happen but must have faith.
Come on lads.
I’m not sure there is any cohesion left at this club right now.
O’Hara with a big-time point to make; Stearman to try to show what we’re missing. Wolves 2 QPR 3. Fulham 4 QPR 0. Everything totally underwhelming at the Mol. Then again….Batth to show Stears what he’s missing as a partner and Hause to confirm why the powers thought Stears would be surplus to requirements. And it is the Championship after all.
In for a stuffing I think, God I hope I’m wrong !!!
Morgan leaving at this point in time is baffling. Wolves never fail to surprise so I think we might be able to grab a couple of goals (esp. with Stearman in their backline) although I can’t see us keeping a clean sheet. Draw for me.
No doubt it’ll be more line up changes leading to more confusion and worse communication.
I fear a trouncing
Only just got back from France … I feel we’re still short as a team so apologies……
I just see this going horribly wrong. Hard to see how we can get so much wrong after last season
Not confident and no positives to cling onto
I like the line up tonight and forever the optimist
As for mr Morgan I fear it is going to be another be careful what u wish for wolves fans moment.
I,for one, will not be surprised to see us getting a right royal stuffing tonight.O’Hara 4/1 to score at anytime. You just know it will happen. Strange days at the Mol.
Oops! Almost forgot to add my prediction. Not that it matters as I’m being confident for some strange reason? As the odds are stacked against us I’ll go for a 3-2 win with Afobe getting back on the goal trail. As if!
Byrne to bag a brace. You heard it here first.
Time for a surprising result I think.
Ah, Wolves… interesting times ahead.
Late I know but I’m on a high I know O’Hara and Stearman wil probably score but I’m throwing caution to the wind and going for 3.1 to Wolves, and no I haven’t had a drink………yet..!
Come on wolves, show what your made of tonight and stick 2 goals past Fulham, and 2 fingers up to Morgan and poxey, sorry about the misspelling but f–k it.
On to Morgan, He came here and befriended Sir Jack with the promise to make wolves great again with investments on and off the pitch, which to be fair at the start he did.then he cast his eye on the land surrounding wolves and with deals involving the Wolverhampton council he got more interested in building houses and buying land dotted around Wolverhampton thus doubling his personal fortune to around 700 Million, perhaps he can go now and invest in his beloved Liverpool.
Me good riddence to him.UTW.
Not much to smile about this season, but boy, am I smilin’ now.
Brilliant. Even brillianter because I predicted 0-3 too. All we need now is for Moxey to say he’s leaving too and we will win our next game
Unbloodybe***kinglievable! The start of redemption?
Muckin Fel where did that come from
Didn’t see that one coming! Ok sending off helped us but we know it isn’t always easy against 10 men. Not sure what to make of it other than chuffed to bits. Confidence restored can we really turn the momentum so quickly? I bloody hope so! Well done lads.
Holding my hands up.I forecast a right stuffing 0-3.On the plus side,I got the score right !
Just got back from the match with Stu Wolf ..Wow…the support looked like 2500-3000 ..the genetics of a changed side was for all to see..
Completely in control (even up to their seeding off)
Martinez very confident (very) K Mac bossing the middle.. Iorfa raiding down the right..Henry playing his heart out.. Afobe amazing goal..
The Fulham fans were genuinely in shock..and started to leave early..
Prob 2 of the best wolves goals scored for a long time..
It’s as if we’ve been let off the leash..
I did not know Afobe scored?
Brompton .. Wolves were excellent , don’t let the ten man Fulham fool you . We were playing our best stuff when it was 11 v11
Price and mac were first class as was Courtney Henry Danny .
I have not seen wolves like it in a very long time .. We never gave the ball away at all . Wolves took the piss !
When Henry scored his beauty, price , ran over to where we were standing beating his chest screaming ‘ we re back ! We are fucking back !!
I would tell you if we were shit but we looked strong tonight
Like a weight had been lifted
Thanks mate. I am chuffed to bits. We need to carry this on v Huddersfield on Saturday now.
See you soon buddy.
I couldn’t forecast rain if I were standing in it – f*ck*ng delighted. Thought we’d go down heavily. After the SM news was sure we would. Wondering if the two are linked. Don’t want SM doing a U turn now.
Reading your comments about the game, I’ve a big grin smeared across my face, and a tiny tear in my eye. Daft really. It’s only a game for chrissakes.
But a big one, Wolfy, a real big one, making us all smile, especially London’s post re Price’s chest beating!
Brompton ..I blame Stu Wolf …being a short arse I only saw the goal go in off the post ALF got a flick on it.
Everyone was standing and going banana’s..
I need to see the replay!!
I just watched the video, brilliant. Glad you were there mate, must have been great.
Hope to see you again soon.
