That was a pleasant couple of weeks, wasn’t it?
Luxuriating in the Spurs result for a fortnight, safely ensconced in the warm embrace of midtable. Lovely.

Given our performance levels and the struggles of the three promoted sides, we didn’t need the bonus of Everton’s points deduction but it certainly doesn’t hurt.
Between now and Christmas the challenge is to get enough points on the board to extinguish the idea of relegation and spend the second half of the campaign focused on getting as high as possible.
There’s a vibrancy to the squad we haven’t seen for a while and genuine cause for optimism. Please keep it going Wolves.
Fulham
A couple of years ago it would have sounded impossible that Raul and Adama would leave for Fulham for a combined fee of around £5 million.
Both players seemed destined for the elite, but I suppose their decline embodied the collapse of those glory days under Nuno. I wish them both well.

Neither have really done much in London so far with Adama sidelined by injury and Raul’s only goal a late consolation at Villa Park last time out.
With talisman Mitrovic leaving in the summer they really need those two to fire and maybe it will come good for them again – but hopefully not on Monday.
The three games they’ve won so far have been against Luton, Sheff Utd and Everton and none have been convincing. Added to that, only Burnley have scored fewer goals than Marco Silva’s side.
They’ve got some useful players and a good coach but they’re weaker than last season and with João Palinha almost certain to leave in January I think midtable should probably be the limit of their aspirations.
Wolves
It’s a shame Pedro is still out but the Spurs win gives us some breathing room. The performance also demonstrated we can play well and win without him.

With Dawson suspended I would have thought Santi Bueno just slots in there and we keep everything else the same. The Uruguayan has barely had a kick since joining in the summer, so I’m looking forward to seeing if he can do a job.
Sarabia might consider himself unlucky to be left out having been the match winner last time (he also scored in this fixture last season) but I’d keep him in reserve again.
Predictions
Well done to Dek, AussieWolf, Steppenwolfe, t’OM, SteadyEddie, Ben Rasmin, GoWolves, Winchcombe Wolf, Marin Wolf, Deptford Wolf, St. Kitty’s Wolves, Woodend Wolf, basherbaz, Dallas Bob, Liz, Wolves Fan Across the Pond, Aquilador, Happy Claptrap, Teddy and Wolfstroker who all correctly predicted the score against Spurs.
I’m going to back us a for a narrow victory this time. Dawson’s absence worries me but if Santi can do a decent job I think there should be opportunities for our attacking players to do damage. The second half in our last away game at Sheffield Utd showed we still have potential to be flakey but I hope that performance was more of a learning exercise than what we can expect away from Molineux. 2-1 to the old gold.

Up The Wolves!

A win here is never easy, but Gary Galatico has got us at the top of our game, well for sixty minutes anyway. Lets hope we get no dodgy refereeing and players from the past haunting us and it should be a very pleasant evening.
It’s hard to see past a win here – Which is always a worry.
Hopefully all up for this generally I think we always play well against Fulham
“we always play well against Fulham”
But never, I suspect, better than in September 1959 – Wolves 9, Fulham 0, what a game.
On the other hand, the week before they beat us 3-1 in London, so, as today, anything is possible!!
COYW
Games that we feel we should win, like this one, invariably are never a cakewalk especially when our former players are facing us!
Maybe it’s time for a secret weapon! I had watched quite a bit of the Rugby world cup, and noted how each team lifts players for a throw in. Can’t we cause some controversy and try that during a corner kick? Give VAR something to really ponder!!I
Game will be tougher than on paper but believe we will have enough to win!
The way Conor used to jump on players after we scored should allow players to get well above the defenders. Is it legal, though?
Delivery would need to be spot on but a very interesting concept.
While our sequence of scoring in every game since the opening weekend continues, we’ve also only kept one clean sheet in the PL so far. Will the enforced change at the back help or hinder? I don’t know, but so long as Raul hasn’t found his old scoring boots at the bottom of a box he’s only just opened from his move down to London, then I think we should be looking to take the points for this one.
Have got to go for a 3-0 win they can’t defend without Palinha and can’t score since Mitrovic left good chance for another 3 points.
Didn’t realise Palinha was suspended. That’s a big tick in the plus column for us.
Plus point there Dek for….. ‘due diligence’ ..
This is a game in which it is the first ever time I hope Raul ‘doesn’t’ score.
I’m sticking with a 2-1 win which has served me well over the last couple of games.
I think we will definitely miss Dawson, but I also hope Bueno can slot in and do the honours.
It’ll be good to keep Sarabia on tap, while he is still hot from the glorious win over Spuds.
Isn’t it’s good to be looking up the table rather than down and wondering how high we could get this season? I am going to this one and will always wish Raul Jiminez the best, but of course not so much that he scores against us. He was a great servant for our club. I enjoy going to Fulham, a good old traditional ground. I went to Ipswich in the cup and thought that Bueno was quite poor so I would consider having Doc in the back line, although whoever is next to Kilman and Toti surely just needs to keep it simple and be solid. Would expect to see Sarabia given a bit more time soon but possibly not a start here – perhaps Burnley at home? Hoping for a good performance, a draw is always a good result in the prem I say, but I think we might just edge past struggling Fulham. So Fulham 1 Wolves 2.
i think he will start with a 4 … with Doc getting a start … reckon we will only see Santiago later in the game depending how things are going
Big loss in Dawson and a worry but i think we should have enough for Fulham . i watched them a few times this season and they look a bit predictable going forward.
narrow win
Things are starting to look good. Can’t help but feel there is a banana peel ahead of us. I have been watching Raul at Fulham and really hoping he finds some form as he was brilliant for us pre-injury and has had such a long dry spell. But if he scores the winning goal against us on the weekend I will hate him forever ?
No you won’t.
Watched Fulham recently and thought they were pretty poor. However, when Raul eventually came on, he showed some classy touches and his positioning was, as ever, excellent. I do think there is danger here, particularly if Traore is more fully involved now he is returning from injury. You can just see the old double-act causing trouble again. Going for a draw.
Always enjoy a visit to Craven Cottage (although each season my seat seems to get closer to the river). This will be a solid test of defensive alternatives and I expect us to concede. I’m going for the win.
(Probably my two favourite, relatively recent games that I’ve attended are both v Spurs – at Wembley (we were in with the ‘home’ fans so couldn’t celebrate until we got outside,or risk violence as some less controlled Wolves fans found out) and at Molineux last time out, where we could go crazily mad with delight. The journey back was less tedious than usual and, bonus, the Avanti chap was prompt with the drinks!)
Unlike us maybe, Fulham are in need for the respite granted by Everton’s punishment. A year ago it was very different though. Fulham were riding high and we were looking sunk. The loss of Mitrovic for Fulham almost mirrored the loss of Raul for us with his skull injury. I think we were about 6th in the table when that happened at Arsenal. I can’t see Raul getting many goals for Fulham. I don’t know if it’s just the way I see things but Fulham seemed to buy an awful lot of ex-Wolves players, with little success.
If this was a home match I would be forecasting 2-0 or 3-1 win sort of thing. Raul will be busting a gut to shine against us, and Adama too. If they both rediscover form, we’re in for a fight. I’m wavering between a 1-1 draw or a sneaky 2-1 win. I will be in the rebuilt Riverside Stand on Monday, courtesy of a client. Will be my first visit to the new stand. It was nearly always very cold when there’s that bloody wind coming up from the Putney End!
Can see this being one of those that isn’t a classic, and just get the feeling we won’t be at our best, like other away matches at Sheff Utd and Luton. Hope I’m wrong but can see this being a draw which, in the grand scheme, wouldn’t be a bad result.
Let’s go Wolves!! I hope that they can keep a clean sheet Monday night!! 2-0 Wolves win.. Bellegarde and Sasa picking up the goals!!
Apart from Man U where we were robbed we’ve yet to deliver a convincing away performance and I’m not convinced we’ll do so on Monday. However a back 5 gives extra security and with Dawson out that is surely needed even against the likes of Fulham’s powder puff attack ( sorry Raul).
Up front we’re likely to struggle too as we sorely miss Pedro’s deliveries but I think that we might just snatch it.
Christmas lights being switched on everywhere, lets hope the boys are switched on and ready for another euphoric victory against a team from the smoke! Do we like playing on Monday nights? Who knows. But with all eyes on the Cottage due to absence of any other football to watch, this is the time to impress. Let’s go Mario, let’s go!!
October 1999. Fulham v Wolves. Tuesday night game. 19.45 kick off. Our gang naturally arrive in to London Euston on the teain from Wolvo at 12.30. On the tube and then a spot of erm…….sight seeing….. whilst also taking in the public houses along the way. After a tour down the Kings Road and a few more round Hammersmith eventually arrive at Craven Cottage . First half is hazy to say the least…. but you sober up as time goes on. It’s still 0-0 late on when a long range shot is fumbled by the Fulham goalie and Neil Emblen knocks home the rebound with about 5 minutes to go. Pandemonium in the away end. Our mate tries to leap on the pitch in celebration and is carted off by the stewards. And ends up in Fulham Broadway police station. So we go to fetch him. In the waiting room for about 20 minutes and the side door opens, he walks through with the copper giving him a send off ” Now don’t be a naughty boy again”. He gets off with a stern talking to . Mad dash in a taxi back to Euston to get the last train back Wolvo. Just make it and a few more cans on the train home. One of those days you remember forever. As for Monday. A similar scoreline and a goal late on to nick it. Hwang gets this one. Fulham 0 Wolves 1.
If I could like that 10 times over Cheesey… I would …
It’s a bit of me …..
Cheers Twix . Those were they days my friend we thought they’d never end …………
The absence of Dawson is a cause for concern, but I do feel that our recent form has been encouraging while Fulham’s points return from their last 5 games is meagre.
With that in mind I’m hoping for the best from messrs Sa and Bueno and going for us to leave the Cottage clutching 3 points!
Hope jimenez gets a hat trick and we win 4-3, but there below us and therefor we’re susceptible to a sucker punch this will all change once Gazza beats Brighton,
I will stick to my own tried and trusted prediction technique 3-1
I suspect old boys network might nick this one. Would be very wolves to turn over spurs then lose to fulham.
A hard well earn 1-1
Flying high
I get that most everyone thinks / hopes for a win but we are without Neto and Dawson
And there’s the curse of the ex- players
I’m Ok with a draw
Meantime so so happy to hear Everton mob threatening to steal everyone’s tires
By all accounts they were repeatedly warned by PL to stop buying players they couldn’t afford and now they’re blaming spuds fur underpaying for Richarlison
You can’t make this stuff up
Z cars for ever
.
Routine banana skin….
Fulham are pretty average. We are better than average so…
Confidence is high and we’re playing well so I’ll say 1 nil away win. Come on Wolves
Worried about the defence without Dawson. Hope Fulham don’t get nearly goal as that could deny the confidence. We also don’t normally do well after international breaks. Still predicting a win.
Only time I do not want Jimenez to score but will accept it if we win.
I’m a bit confused with the Prediction League scoring system, as I correctly predicted the Spurs and Bournemouth results and expected to be on at least six points.
I’m on five, not that it really matters as it is just a bit of fun really.
The maximum predictions in the table is seven, but have we been predicting since the first game, in which case the maximum is twelve?
I know you had a recent glitch in the Prediction League, so maybe that is the reason for the difference in numbers, but, as I said, it’s all a bit of fun and the blogging is the real reason we all assemble here.
COYW
Prediction league is bost aye it!
Yes… it is. 🙁
As long as our momentum continues we’ll be fine. I’d accept an away point but obviously would be happier with all 3.
Monday night, on Sky, Raul and Adama – what could possibly go wrong!!!
Win, loss or draw? What a quandry.
I, for one, am feeling more upbeat about my team and it’s prospects than for three years or so. Despite, or perhaps because of, the massive clear out we underwent in the summer, the team seems to be up for the battle. The comeback against Spuds epitomised this spirit and the reaction of the fans would have been music to the ears of the players who achieved the seemingly impossible.
Symbiosis. Players and fans working as one to achieve the mutually beneficial goal. How good did that feel? For our players too I’ll wager.
So whatever happens to the scoreboard on Monday, I know our lads will give it the proverbial 110%, just for the buzz they had against Spuds. Can you imagine Mario’s emotions as he soaked up the adoration? They’ll all be up for a bit of that.
Yet another eloquent comment Wolfstroker .. as is the norm my learned friend..
Well thank you M’Lud. Compliment indeed from he who is the very epitome of eloquence.
Innit!
.
I agree with Thomas’s team barring swapping Docherty for Bueno ..
this enables either Semedo or Ait Nouri to get into advanced positions alternately.
Fulham aren’t no great shakes but lets not over egg ourselves as being worldies … struggling at Luton, Sheff U, Bournemouth and even Everton away .. we may have scraped a few points away but scraped is the operative word. So Fulham on Monday is winnable but not guaranteed.. so .. I’m going for a draw ..
I’ve moved on with Raul and Traore going … neither did their reputation any good towards the end of their contracts so .. as I say I’ve moved on .. just hope they don’t show us what they’re about …
Dawson is deffo a miss ….
So happy to see the pain on Thomas Franks face as that Arsenal goal went in. My grievance goes back to Molineux 2 years ago when the Brentford goalie spent 8 minutes changing his fuckin gloves for no reason. Bollocks Frank !!!
Looking for a win, but Dawson will be a big miss.
Still very worried about scoring until we acquire a genuine C.F.
Nets looks our only star player and he needs to get back from injury asap.
Special praise for Lemina!
I’m skeptical of Wolves scoring without Neto on the pitch. Until Sarabia’s late heroics, they didn’t look too dangerous last game.
Raúl with a stoppage time winner?
Greetings Crew,
In this most bizarre of seasons, and lets face it to keep the drama alive the FA need this shitfukry every w/e to keep the punters gripped, and rarely fails to deliver something.
The Toffees in deep treacle over FFP is certainly going to keep things lively down the bottom.
A position neither our good selves or the Chino wearing Cottagers would wish to consider.
How do we get a good away win at Fulham? C’mon Gazzbo show some class. Shed no tears for Jimi and Traore, parting was hard, but we’re over it now.
Jeux sans frontiers.
1 lv & COYW
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Hopefully a win. Going for a 2-1 result.
Me too Vic – correct against Spurs, so why not tonight?
Dawson’s absence worries me too.
Bueno cant be match fit.
Would start Sarabia instead of Bellegarde.
Getting back up to speed after an international break always seems to be a problem for us. Then there’s the absence of Neto and Dawson of course, plus we still don’t seem to be able to keep a clean sheet. So I’m not expecting us to set the world alight tomorrow. Still, confidence must be high in the Wolves camp after the last few games and Fulham do have their own problems, so with fingers crossed, I’m going to predict another Wolves win.
We got a centre back on loan in Cincinnati. Mosquera.
Doing well it looks like. Won the league and now in semi finals of a cup.
7.3 performance average .34 games 3 goals
Terrific young prospect Jim.
Never easy on the road. Thinking a 1-1 would be a fine result
Interesting to see who comes in for Dawson or do we change shape?? Fulham also have a key suspension in Paulinha so we should have the edge in midfield. I think we should have enough to get a positive result
Win and we are top half of the league, I think.
Hopefully, we’ll have enough to win this.
Vital player suspension s for both teams
But they have been poor this season
cant see past a Wolves away win
No Dawson, no Paulinha.
Also no goals
I’ll settle for an away point at Fulham given the disruption to our defence with Dawson’s absence, we should keep our shape and Jonny could step in. The Doc’s lack of pace worries me and Bueno needs more game time before starting in a back 3.
On a side note- Garth Crooks is quick of the mark with his team of the week-if it were Man City and Liverpool tonight he would have delayed until the weekends fixtures were completed.
Yes, I agree! Hope a Wolves player scores a hat trick to shaft Garth Crookes!
hoping the week hasnt stopped our momentum
Santiago Bueno doesn’t seem to have figured for Uruguay during the international break. I don’t know if there is a long term problem but, either way, GON has had some time to sort out who replaces Dawson.
Looking forward to seeing Jimenez and Traore in the Fulham lineup. I just hope they don’t make an impact.
I’ll be happy enough with an away point.
Traore is still injured, I believe. Good luck to them after today
utw.
I’m worried by the number of ‘we will win’ posts as football can come back to bite you when ‘over’ confident. Despite this I’m going for a win despite some reservation regarding the central defence. 2-1 perhaps… ?
Wolves 4 – Fulham 1
I’m trying to have a more positive outlook in life….and along those lines VAR/REFEREE will also be semi competent .
.
High time we tatered someone, tonight could be it.
Well there goes the 1.0 !
Usual crap VAR using their own rule book …
The only thing clear and obvious is that Michael Salisbury is getting a lovely trip to the championship next week.
They decide to go to the monitor tonight. Ha ha ha ha. Fucking corrupt bastards. Be prepared to be screwed over again at Arsenal. Fuckin big style.
