Fellow bloggers.

I cannot stress how much we both appreciate your kind thoughts, your generous donations, and the wonderful piss taking!
Yes, we have lost pretty much everything, all our furniture, appliances, and two cars.
Our house is a disaster zone, and it will take us months to gain any semblance of normality.
We have come very close to tears several times, but what sent me over the top was the marvellous gesture my mate Paul Lappage did, the write up and go fund me account.
I was reduced to tears, as was Marla the boss, and we basically lost it for a few minutes.
Thank you guys, it means so much that we have wonderful friends, via The Wolves, all over the world.
We have lost a lot, but we are still not in as bad a situation as tens of thousands of fellow Houstonians.
We have our health, our dogs and the friendship of a lot of people.
Life goes on, what we have lost is just stuff, and stuff is replaceable.
Once again, thanks a million, every blog is a ray of gold and black sunbeam.
Love from Houston

Clive, often in life you don’t get what you deserve, and the hurricane was one of those, but the support for you is always there because as the pictures show your a wolf brother to us all (the mugs on the windowsill made me smile).
I’m glad we provided a ray of golden sunshine and that and all our best wishes are fully deserved.
We all hope from here on in you go from strength to strength and the worst is now over.
Clive, few of us know what it’s like to be in this awful situation and none of us want to find out for ourselves. But there’s no one on here more deserving of this tiny gesture of solidarity as organised by Paul.
If you lived in the UK we’d all be turning up with brooms and paintbrushes and you’d have keep us all supplied with beer and burgers. So that’s something to be grateful for. 🙂
Clive – my only question this time, and it’s nothing to do with Ann Peebles, Hurricane Smith, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Rolf Harris or teapots is this; are you standing in a ditch in that picture or has all the rain caused you to shrink?
Chins up buddy!
OODCL
It is an honour and a privilege to be able to help my friend. As Wolfstroker says, had you been resident in the UK we would all be round helping out. I know that if any of us were in the same predicament then you would also do the same.
Hoping that it all turns out for the good mate. Take care, it can and will only get better.
Brompto’
PS: I see you have found the postcard lol
Clive, seriously perhaps Paul is just tall ?. All the best from the Wolves Blog (Family)
Clive. I think you are originally Wolvo born and bred. Folk from Wolvo are generally resilient, no nonsense and don’t take no shit. As you know. Clearly Harvey has delivered a kick up the proverbial but you are already moving on. As you say it is just stuff that can be revamped or replaced. Harvey has gone but you are not defeated. You are alive and well. Keep us up to date with progress. And FWAW. FOWB. AND FUCKIN OFF HARVEY.
Hi Clive I know what your going through as sandy ripped through my house, just remember your stuff and cars were just material and will all be replaced and your health is the important thing.hopefully you get your power back quicker then the 14 days it took up here how high was the water inside Clive ? I can give you some rebuilding tips as I’m a carpenter
Well, why aren’t you down here already ??!!
We had three ft of water, and luckily never lost power, so once the a.c. was fixed, it was bearable.
We have already had all the sheetrock up to 4 ft removed from the entire house and garage, the 30 yard dumpster just got hauled away, we have a crew coming today to remove all our wood floors so we can finish drying with the 15 fans we have going.
We had a fridge donated, which works, we are getting a 35 ft travel trailer, caravan for you in England, delivered and set up this afternoon, most of our remaining stuff is boxed and will be put in our storage unit later today, and our two totaled cars were towed away.
Our insurance has already made us an offer, for one of the cars, which was a grand over what we paid for it two years ago, so of course their hand was eagerly snatched off!!
Harvey?
Who the fuck is he?
We are so much better off than our immediate neighbors, let alone the rest of town, so as Gloria Whatserface sang, “I shall Survive”
And I never liked that fuckin’ couch anyway!
Again, thank you all for your support, but don’t stop donating to Clive’s beer and Marla’s vodka fund!
Bedders, as you know I am 6ft 7 inches tall, so you can guess how tall big Paul is!!
A happy FOwb to y’all.
And better off than those poor people that have to wake up to far worse than tat every day in Sandwell
Good to see that you are starting the long journey back to normality mate.
Come to think of it, I’ve been on worse holidays than what you are going through – 35ft trailer, fridge, 15 fans (are they Wolves fans or do they just blow hot stinky air from their orifices like Orcs from sandwell?).
What with that and actually making money on the insurance, I think I’ll be claiming my donation back.
On a more serious note – please tell me that the ducks are OK.
I don’t think I could take it if they’ve been scattered across Texas by ‘orrible ‘arvey.
All the best from the Melksham crew. xxx
You old smoothie you.
You reduced us to tears in the last post the sentiment and well meaning words flying back and forth are more than deserved.
You are always the first to dip your mitts in your pocket for the many charity money raising events I do, so Jen de Wolf and I are delighted to put a £1 in (50 pence each) ten shillings in old money to you. Ten shillings used to get me pissed, so that crap beer you drink over there you perhaps do need some more funds rolling in.
On a serious note, as already pointed out, moving to the other side of the globe has it’s advantages and disadvantages, the advantage for you, you evaded the police and taxman, but it does mean the disadvantage is we can’t come over and look after the lovely Marla while your fixing stuff up.
But, strangely enough, when it’s all fixed and smelling nice again, all the bloggers will be available to come over for the house warming weekend ‘P’ up, so get the beers in and a good time will be had by one and all.
Ref the picture, you look like a rabbit in the headlights, is Paul famous? Star struck or what!
Love ya awlll out there, keep punching kiddo.

Teaxans, don’t you just love em!
Lowves,
Don’t ask, just don’t ask. I’m sure I only pressed it once. It’s an age thing.
And there was me asking for your advice, silly blogger!!
Bad – yes maybe it is Clive – but nowhere as much water as on the Baseball ground “pitch” circa 1971.
Remember the league game – then the cup tie 2 weeks later in January 1971?
Seriously all the best to you and the family and I hope you get everything sorted and dried out in double quick time.
BOG
Something that will cheer you up Clivey baby.

Looks like the final nail in a certain Mr Thelwell’s coffin.
Here here Stu, that should cheer Clive up. I’ll add my parting shot at our Kev:
All’s well that ends Thelwell.
(Brings out the poet in me).
Keep up the good work Clive. Your never say die attitude is reminding me of that John Wayne movie, True Grit. In your case I’d call you True Brit.
Whatever the flood compensation handed out by the authorities you deserve 5-1 times more than anyone else!
Sorry Stu although they haven’t got much chance we will be cheering on Malta tonight ‘come on me bambino’s’
No offence taken, Tell Carmen, we will call a truce, but if we lose ” there may be trouble ahead”
Oh dear, Berra scores for Scotland, is it more than Carmen can bear. Ex Wolves player syndrome.
Feckin England are losing at the mo,
Daniel Majstorovic – our maybe next head of recruitment (or whatever they call it nowadays) – apparently speaks 8 languages. Weirdly though Portuguese isn’t one of them.
In case you are wondering; Serbian, Swedish, Greek, Danish, Dutch, German, Norwegian and English.
Daniel Masterstroke? Sounds great.
Clive were did, I’m presuming its your son in the black t-shirt get that t-shirt is smart. I’d buy one if I could I prefer the W W to the wolf head.
Hope you and yours are finding your feet thing will get better, ark at me…….!
All the Best.
( I want that t-shirt ill pay good money, weekly )

Not much I can add to that, really.
Just read it too. He should now be inundated with beer tokens, in fact probably enough to buy us all air fare to go over for his house warming party.
The things folk will do to get a signed photo of Richards.
Nice one Clive, great write up.
Clive is going viral. Amazing! Thinking of you Clive xx
I’ve Put him on Facebook and 1877 blogsite, if any of you are on orther sites see if you can upload his story, let’s get him Global.
He’s one of our own,
He’s one of our own.
He’s Clive from Houston.
He’s one of our own.
As a club we are doing some good things this season, as fans let’s help Clive get his life back.
Visit. http://www.gofundme.com/harvey-vs-clive-of-houston

I already have gone on facebook – you know that as you read it lol.
I know ya did, Iv’e done one with the E&S link to push it again.
Tweeted him on the Wolves website on twitter too.
Very pleased to see our Clive prominently featured on the Express & Star website today.
I’d like to see a small gesture from Wolves if possible. I suggest that if we win a match 5-1, the ball should be donated to Clive. I don’t care if someone has scored a hat-trick in the match, the ball should go to Clive, preferably signed by the team…
Yes …. and a dingy.
Yes …. and a blow up dinghy
Yes… and we could send him a blow-up doll named Amanda.
Imagine her floating down Main Street in the floods.
Or even a dingy dinghy! Or a dingy blow up doll? Or maybe a dingy blow up doll in a dingy dinghy? Or maybe a dingy blow up doll in a dingy dinghy hand delivered by John Richards together with a not in the slightest bit dingy signed photo of himself.
By the way…………what is a blow up doll?
What’s a blow up doll?
It’s a toy suicide bomber.
They go down a bomb in some countries I hear.
And prophets are going thru the roof.
Too late for that last sentence, you knew all the time… !
That was for Bedford Wolf.
If a dingy, dinghy, dingo of Amanda floated down the street, it would sink straight away, because, she/he/it always had it’s feckin mouth open.
Amanda was always far too gobby for her own good.
In Texas the men are men and they will soon sort that broad out.
I still get a little warm tingling in my dinghy, when I hear her name .
You wouldn’t if you saw a mug shot of her in the sheriff’s office.
Didn’t take long to descend into anarchy, dirty dingy’s, questionable anatomically incorrect inflatables and allsorts of tautologies, beer and parties are fine.
No idea about you guys, but I can’t wait for the football to start again…………
Andrew
Good to know that we have helped a little for you Clive. Still a long way for you and your family to get back to ‘normal’ but hope we have made it a little easier for you.
All the best
I will always say Clive you were the first person to speak to us at the APV Hotel before the Sheffield Wednesday game a couple of seasons ago. Me and Sue didn’t even know about the blog until that day. If you remember you asked if we were from Newark, New Jersey as I had. Newark Wolves on my shirt. You and Stu – who I have all the time in the world for introduced us to the most amazing bunch of football fans or is it bloggers I could ever wish to meet. Love to you and your wife mate and hope to meet up with you very soon.
You’re not coming over, are you?
We don’t have a guest room.
We don’t have any rooms!!
It was a pleasure to contribute towards the medium size boat in the end Clive ..and I was duly impressed with your skilled craftsmenship to make part of those fence panels into paddles..
You can’t beat maturity.. age.. and experience …..it must be a proud feeling to be able to cope in situations like these….
Sounds like your all sorted then Clive I would recommend spraying for mold before you start rebuilding and dehumidifiers are a must have, also let new flooring climatize to the house before laying it 2 days minimum
Clive’s going viral. Yahoo.
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/wolves-fans-come-together-to-help-a-fan-5000-miles-away/
It’s all the fungus in the plasterboard that’s causing the Virus, on the bright side, he can get tablets for it.
With all this fund raising he could buy a tablet for him and Marla too.
I can recommend the new iPad mini.
I hope Jordan Graham tears a new one in Cardiff s back 4 on Saturday
At least it could be one small bit of comfort from letting one of the finest wingers in the division go .
Stupid Wolves . If he was at the right club he would have had an England cap
He hasn’t really gone mate. Just a loan. He will be back after all the game time has brought him to the peak match fitness that is needed!! Hopefully.
The SuperComputer has tipped us to win the league and Blouses for relegation.
I love technology, what does ossie the Octopus say.?
http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/birmingham-city-tipped-relegation-super-13581447
I’m off to Portmeirion tomorrow to spend some quality time listening to some great music, supping a few gallons of ale and being rained on.
I won’t be able to give my official prediction for the Millwall game.
It’s going to be a tuffy with Millwall trying to do a Cardiff on us but with cockney accents.
I’d go for a narrow win if I was pushed.
I’ve just watched Tim Spiers’ latest Wolves Update and think I might put a heap of money on him going through the entire season starting his bits to camera with the word ‘So’.
Am I the only one who gets peed off by the unnecessary and lazy use of this word?
It’s become part of trendy speak, just like the word ‘robust’ was a couple of years ago.
That died a death, I only hope this latest fad will too.
SO, that’s my lot for a few days. See you all soon.
Ooops!
Funny you should say that DOOGooder. We’ve just come back from listening to Bhangra music at a Sikh wedding in London (the views from the Tower Hotel were amazing).
Enjoy Portmeirion and give me a shout if you end up coming back via Merthyr Tydfil.
Bhangra music, good stuff. Lots of percussion.
Robert Plant and his Sensational Space Shifters utilise something similar in some of their set during their live gigs.
Don’t you just love good music.
Classical, punk, rock, blues, soul, big band, bebop, (some) rap, you name it, I’ll give it a listen.
My reggae boredom threshold is a bit low but, apart from that,
Bring it on!
So, I was only saying to Mrs Stroker the other day about how starting every reply with ‘so’ is just rubbish English. The misuse of this innocent little word seems to have permeated through all levels of society and it is now used shamelessly to begin every answer by many who should know better. I’m no professor of the English language but my belief is that ‘so’ is simply a short way of saying ‘therefore’ and should be used as such.
But I’m just a country boy, therefore what do I know.
That along with LOOK drives me mad.
So, your point is?
I agree with you saying that Wolves will win this match, but they must prove they are robust enough.
Congratulations Clive on your new-found fame. I reckon you would have made it anyway without Harvey’s help.
Glad to see things are starting to come together on the house front. Positive thoughts from me and Barbara.
Off to rain soaked Croatia today so if there’s no t’internet my prediction for Millwall is 2-0 to us and for Bristol City it is 2-1 to us.
Managed to get tickets for Forest BUT had to pay £66 to be in the Forest corporate end, no colours, no cheering when we score and no food either! But at least I’ll be with BOG and the Newark Wolves so maybe we will all get thrown out together! The paltry allocation of 2,000 tickets all sold out before I got a chance – ridiculous! And I’m a STH. The ticket office manager said he thought we could have sold at least 6,000. The price of success I guess.
P.S. If the rain is really bad in Croatia can someone start up a crowdfunding page to raise funds to fly us home please?
OODCL
I managed to get one too, and I aint a STH lol. I managed to use a friends ticket number who isn’t going and had enough points to buy before they were sold. Call me Jammy, but I am sat with the rest and can shout and wear colours lol. I have also managed to get a ticket for Sheffield United too – yippee.
Forgot to say, we just got back from Dubrovnik, was lovely. Had a cruise from their up to Venice. Hope you have a great trip mate.
Oooops. I meant there not their.
What do you mean, no cheering when we score Dave? If we score against the deadwood shite you just might have to get me down from the suspended ceiling !
‘Can I get ‘ drives me bonkers.
Unless someone says, Can I get you a beer?
So, Look here, Can I get this correct.
Not much left to say!
FOwb
Like, the word I hate the most like is, well, like.
So, it is like so vastly like overused over here, like there is no other word like it, like.
Know what I mean, yuh know?
OK, enuff of all this pity party for that tosser in Houston, let’s get back to footie and the preddo league!!
Come on Thomas, kick off the weekend.
I just paid my fiver to watch in the comfort of my caravan on Saturday morning, with coffee, bagels and gorjus weather!
FOwb
Brompton – it’s not what you know it’s who you know!
Cheeseburger – I hate that too. I also hate nearly everything about modern life though!
Newarks – good lad! We ARE Wolves!
At least you are there too mate. Hope to see you soon.
Got tickets for the next two games but camping in between in the Cotswolds so may not be able to get online for my predictions. So, I’ll say now, even though I know they won’t count…….Millwall 4-2 to us(they have to get two ’cause Saville and Wallace play for them) and Brizzle 3-0 to us. Maybe see some of you good people in the NBB pre-match. Otherwise, enjoy the games and keep the faith.
Onwards and Upwards.
