Last Wednesday’s Fan’s Parliament meeting – that the Express & Star was not allowed to attend – has reputedly thrown up some staggering comments from Jez Moxey, as claimed by one stunned member to contact Wolves Blog.
While the claims can not be taken as fact, the member – who wishes to remain anonymous – told us that on Wednesday November 16, Jez Moxey told the audience:
- Stoke City fans are better than Wolves fans
- “Newsflash. You are fickle!” quote to fans in the room
- He would pull the plug on phase two of the Molineux redevelopment if it were up to him, stating: “Having seen it now, I don’t actually think it looks that bad.”
The final point contradicted a quote Jez Moxey made at a February Fans’ Parliament meeting, where he stated: “Molineux would look awful if we didn’t at least go ahead with phase two.”
The member also claimed that Jez Moxey said that £17.50 for the League Cup game against Manchester City proved that lowering prices did not work, despite the game being on TV and £2.50 more than WBA charged for a Premier League fixture against Bolton Saturday which attracted 26,221.

The member’s notes of the Fans’ Parliament meeting are below:
The point of it was to discuss ticket prices for next season and there does seem a willingness on the club’s part to make some concessions in order to address falling crowds. There was a strong case made for bringing the price for new season tickets down to the same prices as current early bird renewals so as not to be prohibitive for new fans.
There was also a willingness on part of season ticket holders to accept dirt cheap pricing for matchday tickets on a one-off basis for the Norwich home game on a Tuesday night in order to fill the ground.
Moxey then claimed that it was a misunderstanding that if you halve prices then you double crowds, by arguing that we slashed prices for the Man City game and look what happened.
I couldn’t believe this. Moxey was claiming that by charging £17.50 for Man City IN THE LEAGUE CUP and only getting 12,000 this proved that reducing prices didn’t work. I thought he was joking and it was a bit scary that he was serious.
Things went downhill fast when we got onto the topic of the fans chants during the Swansea game and the treatment of Henry vs QPR. Some fans there were hoping to hear that the club weren’t totally satisfied with the way the problem was dealt with by the club: Johnson calling fans a disgrace, McCarthy labelling fans as mindless idiots and O’Hara calling supporters fickle, for example.
What followed was pretty shocking. Moxey got quite animated – at one point loudly exclaiming: “Newsflash, You. Are. Fickle!”
He defended Johnson’s sentiments and told fans they were too thin-skinned and liked dishing it out but couldn’t take it. He also told an anecdote from a friend of his claiming Stoke fans were far better than Wolves fans and he couldn’t imagine any other club treating its staff in such a way. The implication was obviously that he agreed with this friend.
It was pretty hard to take. While there are flaws in the argument – Stoke have been booed at HT and FT in recent games for example – many fans do agree he has a point. What really worried me though was that he didn’t even seem to get the point that some people were making, namely that there’s a difference between being entitled to have a pop back at the fans and it being a constructive thing to do. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
All this soured the mood from my point of view and the evening ended on an even more depressing note. Moxey revealed that expansion plans are in the balance and left us under the impression that if it is up to him he would pull the plug on phase two of the rebuild (the Steve Bull Stand) and leave the ground as it is.
He again cited the recent ECJ ruling about pubs showing games and also noted that attendance was down to 88% of capacity.
Although there are sound reasons for not going ahead with the rebuild, this was a particularly staggering announcement for those of us on the parliament who have attended meetings over the past two years hearing all about this huge project – presumably a strategic, long-term investment for the club – that was now possibly being scrapped with little explanation.
Somebody pointed out that in February 2011 Moxey had stated that “Molineux would look awful if we didn’t at least go ahead with phase two.” In response to this, Moxey simply said that “having seen it now, I don’t think it actually looks that bad.”
Tim Nash, Wolves correspondent at the Express & Star, has confirmed that the paper was not allowed in to report on this parliament meeting. However, this is common practice and not exclusive to this meeting alone.
Wolves’ official website states that ‘David Instone, respected local journalist, will attend each meeting of the Fans’ Parliament to take minutes and prepare an official review of the session. This will be published under the ‘Fans’ Parliament’ section of wolves.co.uk
David Instone was not present at the meeting on November 16.

Words fail me. I simply cannot begin to project my anger at this.
Jez does have a point about Stoke fans. Not to worry though, I’m sure he rates you above Wigan fans.
The fact that this meeting wasn’t minuted on the official website is nothing short of scandalous.
What is the point of a fans parliament if the fans have no idea what was said? Instead we have to resort to clandestine methods to find out what went on.
The club seems absolutely intent on driving a wedge between themselves and the fans. We’re a big club with a passionate following, I like the fact we don’t just sit back, thankful for what we have, which is exactly what Jez would want. Unfortunately for the greasy weasel, quite a large proportion of us can see through his utter bullshit.
haha what a wind up…
It’s time to take drastic aaction against these arrogant scumbags ruining our club. We, as fans, are more important than a portly rodent from The Potteries
why all of a sudden have the board / Jez gone all cloak and dagger. its not as if there has been any more bad feeling towards the club at any other time when we have done badly. And surely they can see that with increasing the stadium, proposed new training facilities, our 3rd season in the PL then every fan expects some improvement that has not been evident. Yeah we aren’t rock bottom but neither do the performances inspire confidence.
Jez is walking a fine line and this is making things worse. Fans will forgive the manager and the players a world of sins once results show an improvement. But ‘the suits’, with one bad gesture, can end up creating a whole world of hate directed rightly or wrongly at the club (look at newcastle and Ashley). Also not allowing the press in shows a sign of pre-determined statements that would create tension and resentment. Bad move Moxey, very bad move
This is shit stiring by some low life who calls him/herself a fan, this is a disease that needs stamping out, it seems to me that there are dark forces out there who want to drag the club down into oblivion -LOW LIFE!
Are you for real? I think you’d be happier living in North Korea
You’re really thick mate
Can you really believe this ????????????????????????????????????????????story, you should be fucked for printing it, if we ain’t got enough trouble, by the way the moon is made of cheese and little green men have landed in your back garden, what a prat.
Hi John. We appreciate all views on this blog, and we always want your opinion, but try to respect other people’s views when making your own. This is a warning, otherwise we have to edit comments which we don’t want to do!
Not naming names Ben, but that should go both ways.
The problem with this particular blog, is its obviously TOO biased to be taken seriously. I despise the spin and bullshit too, and believe in standing up to Moxey on some of these issues, but it doesn’t help it if one side of the story is weighted. Thats properganda. If the E&S were to present the other sides view, there’d be 100 times more replies saying exactly the same as John. I dont think this kind of blog helps, it says the club are driving a wedge, but I suggest everyone looks in the mirror. Somewhere in the middle a lot of fans are getting depressed by all this. Its a bit playground. Happy to debate the issue, if the facts were presented fairly.
UTW
Hi El. Well, you know my general standpoint on things and I’m sure we tend to disagree, but my response was purely about getting f**ked which Thomas agrees is not necessary and sets a bit of a tone. Seriously, that is all! If we’ve missed others doing likewise then I apologise.
Better to debate in this fashion without the insults.
Well, to answer your comment: We were given the above copy last night and by not doing something with it, thought we would not be true to this site. If it was written by me I would get your point, but it is from a purely external source not connected to us.
The beauty of the site is that it is open for contribution from everyone. Literally anyone can blog with zero propaganda. Just get in touch if you want.
Also, anyone can reply. So if it is heavily weighted in one side, then it is only representative of those who have chosen to comment. Nothing more.
Personally i find the patronisation from ‘some’ very offensive because it contradicts the exact message youre trying to make eg rediculing Louie, who makes the most articulate arguements, with immature arguements about his age; thats too personal if you ask me. I agree it needs to be stamped out, but I see Johns frustrations, there are bullies on here and its defensive. I LOVE your efforts with this blog, the best debates are when its fair and balanced – its then an open floor, great!
And so my rep to this blog is thus – Moxey is wrong about a lot, but why can’t he call fans fickle? IMO of course he can and so can the players say what they like too. IMO hes also right (that does hurt!), this blog appears to be written with a point to prove and motivated representation of the facts, but its as spun and devisive as it claims its enemies to be!!
Opinions can never be wrong but the facts are always right.
And the fact is that obscene language has no place in a public forum. Your opinions and mine on matters Molineux rarely agree and I find your allegation that ” this blog appears to be written with a point to prove and motivated representation of the facts” ludicrous.
Nevertheless I respect your right to post as many peverse views as you wish. Thats the point of the blog.
But to compare the baiting some on here like to indulge in with foul mouthed filth suggests any bias is entirely yours.
There are headlines to three points Jez made, then goes on to say later that they were an interpretation of what Jez said rather than actually quotes. Thats backing up my arguement that the blog is not representing facts (unless your on here JM??) How is that ludicrous, and what facts do you have to back that up? How is asking for fair debate, bias? Where is your arguement?
You call it baiting, I find it personally offensive sometimes (ie please dont call me perverse!! Youre not giving me a right to post a rep if you use that language), I dont agree with EITHER!
It seems El Plim, your ego is slightly bigger than another’s opinion.
There are several facts yourself and John might consider.
We are a poor, badly managed, football club.
It is reflected in our league position.
The owners/management have more or less declared war on the fans implying that if we play badly it is to do with the supporters.
You might support Moxey and McCarthy but being insulting to those disagree with you is a distraction.
Good luck, like the team, you must need it.
I dont support Moxey nor McCarthy, but neither do I think they’re doing a bad job. Im a fence sitter it could be much better/worse. Whatever my ego, the facts say that we are either having our most successful period for 30 years in the PL and debt free; or maybe weve stalled and were not making anymore progression and were now going backwards, thats for us to argue. But please tell me where im being insulting?? I actually like people having strong opinions, but when have I ever sworn at, degraded, or attacked any blogger? For instance I enjoyed some good tussles with Ben re Guedioura, Im not articulate but never have I just dismissed their opinion without trying to use my best reasoning.
and why a snide remark to finish with! irony? unbelievable.
Am sick and fed up of your loathsome abuse on this site. Wht dont you clear off to Sandwell where you’ll fit in perdectly?
It’s so predictable to hear the usual Moxey jibes. It’s boring. Get over it guys. He’s done a good job for the club, full stop. I for one wouldn’t stake much on the veracity of the attendee’s comments above either. And come on then, can you deny that Wolves fans are fickle? Anyone? Course we bloody are.
No more fickle than the Everton fans who sat by me and BOOED when they were winning.
Or Arsenal fans for booing in a pre-season friendly?
Or Stoke fans now calling for Pulis’ head?
Or WBA fans cheering when Scott Carson didn’t make a mistake?
It seems slightly churlish and blinkered to question the truth of a fan because it doesn’t sit with your viewpoint.
I hate the fact that we are subjected to this sort of vitriol from our chief executive (if indeed true) when there are thousands of fans like me who never, ever boo, and spend literally thousands of pounds on the club over the course of the past 20 odd years.
All we are doing here is posting what has been reported to us.
NEWSFLASH – football fans in general are fickle. And often thick. Everton are a good example of this, especially in the past few weeks with the whole Kenwright thing. Talk about knuckle-draggers. These people have the same mentality as the ‘numpties’/’mindles idiots’ at the Wolves.
And, it’s hardly vitriol from Moxey, is it ben? Or is there something I’m missing in your lovely reportage above?
If you’re not booing, fine, but I totally defend the right for Mick and the players to have a go back if they want, just as I defend the right of anyone to have a good old boo at the footie. And to mock the self-righteous outrage from people like yourself.
I for one have done my fair share of booing in the past, but I don’t think Mick deserves it.
Is that you Jez?
What would someone have to gain by making it up?
If the person was named they could gain a level of notoriety from it but as it is the person has nothing to gain and much more to lose.
Do you think he/she is after Moxey’s job or something?
Fickle? Speak for yourself mate. Unlike you, I’ve never booed.
Your perverted logic is priceless though. A self confessed boo boy lecturing us about not doing the same!
Go on – who were your booing? Bully perhaps??? Do you feel better for showing everyone what a ‘mindless idiot’ you are?
I am a season ticket holder and have been for the past 16/17 years ,but have supported them from the age of 5 and am now 71 yrs old.I doubt if I will be renewing next year if MM is still manager.I admit my football knowledge is nowhere near his ,but I feel sorry to some extent for the players because the football has not changed over the past 3 seasons under him . He plays players out of position and then when we beat Wigan he makes out it was a wonderful win.Lets be honest we were lucky that Wigan did not take their chances. If Morgan and Moxey cannot see that he cannot take the players to the next level then we are doomed. I pay my money so I can choose whether to attend matches or not and he has made me lose total faith. I know I am not the only fan who feels this way
BYE – YOU WON’T BE MISSED.
Out of interest Johnwolf – what do you think a Wolves fan should be doing and thinking right now?
Clearly you can’t accept any kind of criticism aimed at anyone to do with the club, which is fine, but surely you can’t be satisfied with everything at Molineux right now?
The squad? Ownership? Manager? Results? Stadium?
Is everything 100% OK for you right now?
Honestly ‘d be interested to know your opinion.
Johnwolf you are a total OAF ! Why don’t you go outside and play with your toys and leave the grown-ups to comment on here
I think the press not be allowed into the fans parliament is usual partly to stop the very things that are happening on this site the cherry picking of quotes out of context to create a story! However, that said if the meeting was not minuted and the notes are not to be placed on the fans parliament page that does strike me as odd if not suspicious.
I will wait to see if the full minutes are released before making to many comments, not that I’m questioning the honesty of your source, but I would like to read the comments in context and in full. That said his logic on the lowering of ticket prices is alarming, as are the comments regarding the re-development.
Hang on, the E&S constantly make entire stories out of a single quote taken out of context.
My point entirely, the fans parliament was originally designed to give the fans a say in the club and to allow the club a place to explain decisions without having to deal with the press blowing things out of all proportion. I’m not saying that’s how it has worked out but that was the original thinking.
SheefieldWolf – don’t you wonder why the minutes are only now being published? It seems they’re being published in response to this, which stinks.
I don’t think that at all its more likely to be lazy office work than anything else. I’m not usually one to criticize Ben, but he could have waited until tomorrow to publish this article, to give chance for the minutes to be released. Now any discrepancy between the minutes and this blog i.e time of release, exact phrases etc will be used to form conspiracy theories.
As much as the fans parliament lacks true power it is the only thing we’ve got at Wolves and the owner is under no obligation to keep it. Taking things out of context and commenting on facts second hand risks the club seeing it as more hassle than its worth. I’m not saying that fans who attend aren’t entitled to their opinions on events just that the rest of us can’t pass judgement until we’ve seen both sides of the discussion in full.
That’s pretty naive, there is nothing to suggest the club were going to release minutes until this story was released, especially considering David Instone wasn’t there to even take minutes. Ignoring the timescales, there are some serious questions around this though; The source has listed actual quotes – “Newsflash. You. Are. Fickle” – there’s not too many ways this can be taken. In addition to this, according to the source, Moxey has made an outrageous about face on the stadium, again regardless of context, this raises massive questions about his judgement and ability as Chief Executive.
The minutes from the fans parliament are published on the WWFC Website as standard practice, they even have a record there of all previous meetings. Although David Instone wasn’t present that doesn’t mean nobody was taking minutes the standard practice at meeting like this is to have minutes taken to avoid this situation.
I’m not defending Moxey (to be honest I find him to be a smarmy git, who loves his fees before the club) nor am I unconcerned about the possible change of heart on the stadium redevelopment or his negative opinion on ticket price concessions. However, I do want to see both sides of the conversation not just jump to conclusions. And I think the timing of this blog (note: not the content) is off as it only shows one side of the conversation when there is no way for us to verify what was said.
utterly agree sheffield. more articularly put than i could manage.
I would probably agree with the blogger in the same situation (I probably share your opinions btw scooped!), but you cannot possibly debate on hear say.
Apparently the minutes are now being published. Hmmmmmmm.
Would’ve taken a competent secretary an hour at most to type a dictaphone recording.
Strange timing.
Is it possible that they’re currently heavily doctoring the original minutes to portray Jez in a good light?
evenso are you going to stay open-minded?
Staggering, if true. Though this doesn’t sound like the saintly boardroom figure we read about in the e&s.. Why people feel the need to have a go at the blog for reporting it amazes me. Or maybe they prefer to shut their eyes and put their hands to their ears? Might help on a match day mind..
Hi Johnwolf. Your comments remind me of the Nazi party supporters in Germany, who probably still think Hitler was right.
The club can ill afford to lose long term supporters like Colin Davies (no relation), who in ever increasing numbers are questioning the football on the pitch and the longterm decisions off the pitch. Why can`t we play like Swansea or Norwich with freedom and enjoyment, rather than the negative rubbish which I watched at Goodison. Loyalty and supporting a club doesn`t mean blind acceptance of everything that happens or is said.
Its ok for the owner to complain and comment in the press that since being in the premiership we are the seventh largest spenders, well i`m sure he`s spoken to the manager about that. If the owner can get press on that topic, surely the fans can express their honest views without some prat like you, having a go, its so unnecessary and albion like.
I enjoy the frank exchange of views on this blog, providing many different perspectives and opinions of events at our great club. I may not agree with some of them, it doesn`t make me or the writer any less of a supporter.
MM said his squad was capable of mid table security this season, well so far there is little sign of his team reaching those heights, plus I don`t see 3 worse sides than us. Freedom of speech and a good debate are part of life in 2012, if you can`t take that then I really feel sorry for you.
Very well put…..
…if you’re one sandwich short of a picnic. Seriously, how retarded to compare a comment about a football club with Nazi bloody germany?!?!? reminds me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFMpySg_UrM
Its called meglomania. Simple!
There have been idiots at Stoke calling for Pulis’ head since he came back. They just shout louder when we are on a bad run. As for Stokies booing at half time and full time against QPR. They were booing the ref. It appears you are now seeing the real Moxey. It will be all downhill with him from now on. Good luck.
Is there anything we can do so you will take him back….PLEEZ!!!!!
We’ll throw in Berra and Elokobi as a sweetner!
It might seem like a whistle blower trying to grab his 15 seconds of fame and feed his own desire to slate your board but speaking from experience i’d keep these comments in the backs of your mind because they may come back to haunt you.
In the period at Liverpool when Tom Hicks and George Gillett were at the helm, Liverpool fans had to rely on the clubs website to feed us with “propaganda” i’ve read some comments on here saying the person who sent this story is the one providing the propaganda but i wouldn’t see this to be true.
Spirit Of Shankly the Liverpool supporters union had to fight to be allowed into the boardroom and committee meetings and even when they were finally allowed in, the minutes they recorded were prevented from being released, Christian Purslow himself refused to agree for them to be given to the fans.
Anything at this sort of level that is not freely available in the open would always worry me personally.
And if a fan was so desperate to oust the board and bad mouth Moxey, would he have gone to this extreme? Perhaps he would but from an outsider looking in, these revelations whether true or not are uncomfortable to look at, there should be transparency from these sorts of meetings.
The situation is different at Wolves we do have a fans parliament which the Chief Executive and other senior members of the club attend pass on information and to hear the views and answer the questions of 30 fans. The fans are elected to the parliament every two years and include representatives of a number of supporters clubs. The parliament is held roughly every two months and the minutes are freely accessible on the club website and are written by an independent figure usually David Instone a local journalist.
The views expressed in this article came out before the official minutes and represent a fairly one sided and cherry picked appraisal of the meeting. Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion I would advise people to read the minutes of the meeting before coming to their own conclusions.
Minutes are up if people are interested
http://www.wolves.co.uk/page/News/0,,10307~2524439,00.html
Ben – appreciate the sentiment and question the rationale for not having minutes, but you have to question whether your source is altogether neutral in their recollection of the event.
There are a number of individuals, many of whom have taken the time to post a reaction, who have a deep rooted prejudice against Moxey, MM and for some reason Morgan, despite all three overseeing the most successful run for the club in well over 20 years.
So lets take a look at some of the things that have been said.
The fans are fickle, they are, the Molineux effect is nothing new and has been commented on by many an ex player. Applauding the substitution of Karl Henry, captain of our championship winning team and more importantly one of our own, was a disgrace! Fact.
As for Johnson and MM criticising that section of the support, glass houses and stones come to mind.
As for the stadium development, falling attendances and the current economic climate would make any business consider growth plans, not to mention many local pubs now showing Wolves games on a Saturday afternoon, he would not be doing his job if he did not question whether it was still the right decision. As for changing his opinion re how the stand looks in situ, are people no longer allowed to change their opinion with new information, ie how the stand actually looks.
As for reducing ticket prices, he is correct is stating that a reduction in ticket prices does not necessarily result in the required uplift in sales. All he is stating is their is a commercial decision to be made with regards to ticketing, and that halfing the price does not mean double the attendance. Clearly some supporters would like the club to make a loss on match days, but then these same individuals would moan about the lack of investment so not sure how Moxey can win.
I am embarassed to be a Wolves fan when I read the bile targetted at Moxey et al, to refer to someone as the Greasy Weasel, admittedly the hair is shocking, despite managing the sale of the club to a football man, developing the training facilities, developing the stadium, signing lucractive shirt and manufacterer deals, assembling the best squad of players at the club for over twenty five years and all within the earning potential of the club and without putting it at financial risk. People pay £500 and think they can run the show, suggest they apply for a job and walk the walk as he is doing an excellent job and anyone who thinks otherwise need only remember the mid 80’s and the 90’s.
Are you a propagandist?
The one thing you do not mention is the absolute trash served up to the paying public, since half time against Spurs.
This is the root of the problem and the rift between supporters and management.
Management and some fans prepared for the championship say its ok, other fans ( I think the majority) are more ambitious.
It makes me smile when supporters cite ambition as the reason for their frustration.
I would like to understand what their ambition is based on. Is it based on the fact that we have spent the preceeding 25 years out of the top flight, chopping and changing our management, investing vast ammounts of money on experienced campaigners in the twilight of their careers, or perhaps because they can ignore that the majority of clubs, against whom we are currently competing, have received in excess of 500M more sky money than we have, perhaps they live under the delution that we are a big club based on the exploits of the 50’s. Perhaps all of the above.
I can assure you that I am as ambitious as everyone else, but if you cannot see progress at the club both off and on the field then I suspect the club will never meet you ambitions because they are not achieveable and that is your problem, not MM’s, Moxeys or Morgans, a fact supported by the failure, of Turner, Lee, Mcghee, Taylor, Hoddle, Jones, to name a few.
Tosh! MM has achieved what the others you name didnt and with a considerably smaller budget than some of them. How did that make our dreams of promotion ‘ not achievable’ ?
Scooped, not sure your point mate.
MM achieved something that many other failed to do, yet there are still many supporters who believe he is holding the club back, something Moxey is also accused of doing despite considerable investment on and off the pitch.
There are too many supporters who believe because we are in our third season in the Premier league that our football should be faultless and slick all the time and that we have a divine right to beat certain teams, many of which have a far greater premiership pedigree than our own.
My expectations are we should compete, QPR aside, we have been in every game we have played, but for poor finishing against the Albion and poor refereeing against Newcastle we would be a few points better off and comfortably mid table, which is were some expect us to be. I appreciate that all clubs can say that, but they are the margins we are operating in and I do not believe we are that far away. Just my opinion.
But do you not think that a top class business leader would not have been aware of possibilities that could effect attendances before committing to an enormous redevelopment, starting the job and now back tracking? Also, Moxey arrogantly believed if they build it they will come. How can he honestly have thought this was going to happen when the team is one of the worst in the league and in spite of the mass investment in the team shows no signs of improving?
We got promoted and survived by 3 minutes after big investment from Morgan and you talk like Moxey and McCarthy have reinvented the wheel.
Also, how can you possibly compare McCarthy’s financial support from Steve Morgan to Graham Turner, Colin Lee and Glenn Hoddle under Jack Hayward? They were given nothing like the money that McCarthy has had at his disposal, while Dave Jones did get wolves promoted which leaves McGhee and Taylor who yes were given money and failed. But can we not move on and see the current failings of the manager and chairman. We are going to be bottom of the league again in a fortnight and the team is consistently invested in and never looks any better. Why can wolves fans not be allowed to be disappointed by this?
“Newsflash; You are fickle”
Dammit, that is NOT something Moxey should be saying to the Wolves fans – especially given the dangerous situation we’re in in the Premier League!
This won’t help relations between the board and the fans
Having read the full transcript it does seem fairly sensible what was said and the article above selected out the more contraversial phrases.
I hate to say it I agree with Moxey, the stadium redevelopment should be dependent on the financial stability of the club not the other way round. The fact that a lot of fans including myself have said that from the start makes little difference.
As for the comments regarding fickle fans, I found the comment about fans booing those who were cheering Karl Henry’s substitution hilarious! It was an emotional reaction that got out of hand, as were the comments from players and the club following it. We need to let it rest now and get on with supporting the club and staying in this division.
Comments regarding ticket pricing were also well measured if a little cold. In my opinion, we need to encourage people to come when times are hard rather than vilifying them for saving what little cash they have, if it means Morgan having to dig a little into his pockets once in a while so be it.
As is always the case in these matters, the truth of the situation is far more boring than the discussion about it afterwards!
I am more than a little dubious about this story. Don’t get me wrong, I am no fan of Jez ‘Moxey, but the one thing he has always been is professional, There are few more cautious people than Moxey, he is always guarded in his comments and even when no one has agreed with him he has never lowered his level of caution and always given measured responses to the issues. Lets face it, it is his job to act as a buffer between the fans, Morgan and McCarthy, so none of this makes sense and I feel Moxey is far to smart a cookie to have come out with such drivel.
Looks like the amended minutes have now been added to the wolves web page. So after a genuine fan leaks what was really said, the club releases an abridged version. Make no bones about it, the club is lying here, Jez Moxey is lying and I’m certain the Express and Star will report the amended version.
Words fail me.
Oh come on! All of the selected phrases that were out lined in the article are in the transcript however they are in context and not paraphrased. Moxey’s not a nice character but he is a PR man do you really think he would be stupid enough to say things without qualifying them or giving a reason?
I stress again – there was no evidence of the club intending to issue minutes until this was released. The club has now released minutes with selected words added to respond to the above. You can believe that’s coincidence all you want. I think it stinks
The club has a standard policy of releasing minutes, the Fans parliament section of the website has the minutes for the last 3 years stored on it.
6 days after the event, on the day this article comes out?
On the same line it took six days for the offended parliament member to post his angry response.
Just to hazard a guess posting the minutes of the Fans Parliament wasn’t the main issue at the Molineux media department this week. I know that’s not the nicest thought as it puts into context how seriously they take it but it’s just a thought.
As for the connection between the two apart from the obvious coincidence (they do happen), is it not more likely the club have a standard time limit to upload the minutes to the website, say five working days, and our concerned fan released his article at a time, to create the most fury, i.e: the day before the agreed usual release date.
I’m surprised Sheffield, in your belief of the boards ‘honesty’.
You reply to Tafkag’s point about it taking 6 days to publish the minus is that it took 6 days for the poster to post his comments.
Perhaps the ‘offended parliament member’, wanted to give the club time to reveal the contents of the meeting? –
I have to agree with Tafkag for we all know to transcribe Shakespearean Hamlet :
“There is something rotten in the state of Wolverhampton Wanderers.’
I’m not saying I believe in the boards honesty, in fact if you read my other responses I think that Moxey is a smarmy PR git and as a result is less likely to make such a massive public gaffe.
What can I say I’m naturally sceptical of conspiracy theories and even more sceptical that Moxey would comment so brazenly about issues at a public forum event. Unfortunately, life’s not a Shakespeare play or even a James Bond story, the bad guys very rarely come out and tell you there whole plan!
It would be interesting to see if we could get any of the other parliament members to comment on what was said. Or if not that on how representative the minutes are of the meetings content.
I’m pretty sure Jez say’s http://www.wolves.co.uk/page/News/0,,10307~2524439,00.html
‘SOME – AND I STRESS SOME! FANS ARE FICKLE’
It says it on the official site. He has nothing to hide. This blog is trying to make something from nothing, and as there was no professional media there is trying to create smoke without fire.
Poor show, 3 M’s are up there with Bully, Sir Jack, Billy and Stan Cullis as important people in Wolves FC history.
Oh, it says it on the club website ? Why didn’t you say so earlier?
Don’t blame Ben on this – he’s stated that it might not be true at the beginning, and I can’t imagine why he wouldn’t post something like this…
Still, I’ll go check out what it says on the site!
“Some and I stress, some, fans are fickle”
I can’t think of a sentence I’ve ever read in my life that sounds more doctored.
You can almost see the splice marks.
Anyone who believe that to be true is simply a moron.
how can you compare Jez Moxey to Steve Bull and Stan Cullis? What do you like about him? What exactly makes him a legend? Did Jez Moxey appoint Glenn Hoddle? Was this whole club turned round by Morgan’s money or Jez Moxey??
Koala, I dont think I have compared Jez to either Bully or SC. I think he is someone who is important in our history, with Mick and Morgan. The 3 have stabilised our club, and kept us in the league for 3 seasons. You have also included the world legend, which I never.
I just think he deserved a bit more respect than chinese whispers of my mates mates milkman who was at the parliament.
Having read the minutes from the website, it seems that this source has edited Moxey’s comment. He didn’t say ‘fans are fickle’, he said ‘some fans are fickle’, which actually makes a big difference. I imagine the other quotes were probably exaggerated or edited too. Just get on with it I say.
This article is everythinhg I dispise about online blogging. There’s no comment from the club, it’s all speculation, there’s no attributed comments. This is basically ‘My mate reckons’. This is disgraceful! How is Moxey suggesting Stoke fans are better? Just by mentioning that they didn’t get booed. Awful, awful spin! And as for the alleged ‘fickle’ quote that I’m suspect he said I agree with him. Wolves fans are fickle. The E&S have never been invited to the fans parliament because what it is is just for the fans. Tim Nash has plenty of opportunities to ask questions and publish for E&S punters.
I think those ‘My mate said’ comment scome from a man with an agenda against the CEO and the best advice I can give to the publisher of the blog is to take down because before there’s a claim of defamation of character. Embarassing!
Yes, it is embarrassing that first the manager and now the chief exec have publicly insulted their own fans.
Great business plan. I hear BT are going to send a ‘mindless, fickle moron’ mailshot to all their customers in an attempt to increase their broadband coverage! And Tesco are giving ‘fickle, mindless moron’ vouchers as an incentive to stock up early for Xmas. Incredible!
Online blogging? Is there another kind?
You think there’s a legal case to answer?
Not very bright are you.
For what it is worth, the member who contacted us stated (in response to the club’s minutes):
The mention of Man City has been removed; The reference to Stoke has been removed (I could tell you the exact sentence where these fit in!). A caveat has been added to the fickle quote. And finally, the issue of the stadium backtrack has been reworded in content and style to imply Moxey himself acknowledged he was contradicting himself whereas in reality he was challenged on this.
So basically, without a dictaphone we will never know either way.
I’d be interested to know what prompted the club to release the minutes today, when the meeting itself was nearly a week ago. Was this article forwarded to anyone at the E&S at all?
By the same line of enquiry what took this offended fan so long to contact the blog and post a response?
The clubs media department has the predetermined role to release these minutes as part of the initial set up of the group. I can’t speculate on the fan’s motives for not releasing this earlier, or how long Wolves Blog had this. But he/she certainly had duty to do so.
Look, you’re debating in a polite fashion, which I respect and I guess neither of us is going to agree and neither of us is going to be proven right. As Ben states – we’ll never know so it’s just a matter of who you believe. I think there’s something very fishy about it all in terms of timing and the wording of the “response” from Wolves. But I’m pretty sure we could go round in circles all night, so let’s agree to disagree…
Neatly put, one of the things I like about this blog is generally despite the lack of moderation the comments stay relatively polite and well reasoned (Certain posters excepted).
Agreeing to disagree is probably the best way to go, but it would be interesting to invite some of the other members of the fans parliament to comment independently, if not to sort out this issue, to look at how different the minutes are to the tone of the actual meetings.
Giving the club a chance to release the minutes, as I said earlier.
This is the difficulty in releasing an article before the official minutes were released we now have a he said she said argument, where some fans will follow the official line and others will think its a big conspiracy. For me there is enough in the official notes to hang Moxey, if you wished to, without relying on third party testimony or conspiracy theory.
As for not being able to find out there were 29 other members at the parliament many of whom are readily contactable for verification.
“Jez didn’t say that. He recounted that he brought a guest to the swansea game, who was a stoke sth. Said guest expressed his surprise at the stick individual players and the manager got, and the general atmosphere. ”
On a forum from someone who went to the Fan’s Parliament.
I must agree with Tomo, Rich and Hang the DJ above. I find it hard to believe that the Wolves management has edited what Moxey really said and the quote ” “Come on, guys – Newsflash! Some fans – and I stress ‘some’ – are fickle!!!” is not at all as malign as the one Ben cited.
It is positive that the blog world allow us fans to communicate with one another, but we have to check our sources better and try to direct our attention to things that are important and – most of all – support our club and team instead of trying to find faults about how the club is managed.
You my friend don’t know Jeez Moxey if you think that. The bloke is a born liar. You are in a situation at the moment where players and the mad mick are having a go at you the fans. Why do you think Moxey would be any different?
There is no smoke without fire. I can’t see why the OP would come back and say where the lines were removed from/changed unless he was prepared to share like he appears to have done with Ben.
Believe Moxey at your peril.
Stokie
Clearly you have an agenda, or an issue with Jex Moxey, cannot comment on his time at Stoke as I do not know or care what went on.
The reality is Jez Moxey has done a good job at our club, re-developed out training facilities far quicker than your own club, was there at the end of last season, to name one of his achievements.
He has attended the meeting, faced some well thought out questions from the supporters who attended and been open and honest in his responses. Truth is if he was concerned about how he would be represented, I suspect he knows about the web and great blogs like this one, he could have been a lot more reserved.
Out of interest do Stoke have a similar set up ? Is it fair to say that you are happy with every decision made by the club ?
No agenda mate just a lot of us Stokies know Moxey from old. He tells you what he thinks you want to hear and then just shits on you. Trust him at your peril. Just my opinion though.
We used to have something called the fans forum but don’t know if it still goes on.
Of course I or any footie fan of any club can not be 100% happy. We just have to take the rough with the smooth. Fortunatly at Stoke it is at the moment a lot smoother than it has ever been but you never know what is round the corner.
Stokie
Fair comment, I agree your club is going in the right direction
I do not know Jez Moxey and so neither trust or distrust the bloke. My assesment is based on his commercial management of the club, which following the Haywards and John Richards is without doubt an improvement.
What I will say is his comments could not described as what the fans want to hear, in fact he could not have been more honest, or controversial for some.
As supporters we all too often govern with our hearts, Risdale proving beyond question that if you manage a club that way you will fail. Football is a business, whether we like it or not and Moxeys business acumen has took the club well beyond recent heights.
Time will tell whether his financial approach is sustainable at this level, or a more risk based approach is required to get to the next, truth is there is a longer list of failures with the latter.
I always find the redevelopment of the training facilities a strange plus point to attribute to Moxey.
Has this man not overseen the redevelopment of them twice in his tenure?
Imagine building yourself a house from scratch only to have to knock it down and rebuild it a few years down the line, would you really be that smug about it?
I’d be downright embarassed.
Glad to hear your usual wise words here, Paddy. For those of you that don’t know, Paddy has an excellent blog here: http://paddytheflea.wordpress.com/ at least as good as this one that Ben runs.
Paddy suggested playing Stearman up front last year when things were going badly.
I’m alright staying here thanks.
No thanks, especially if you’re prepared to endorse it. Dave vincent, small ‘v’. Interesting….!
wow im really not up to speed, im still replying at the top of the blog! I feel sorry that whatever happened there remains alot of frustration and anxiety. This is a low point in the 3Ms leagacy. That said this is clearly a great forum for fans to question the CEO, I dont know of many other opportunities like that and credit to them and the fans who atteneded, im sure we were all well represented, incuding the ‘source’. But inevitably there will be two sides to this story. In todays modern age could they done as a webinar? there could be a £ enrollment fee that could go towards a wolves charity. theres my suggestion for the next meeting.
Only if the Wolves Charity happens to be a we need a new fast centre half fund!! Each year could replace it with a new worthy cause i.e we need a new striker or we need a new manager! Tongue firmly in cheek.
As for the parliament being live, I think that it would be a great idea certainly would put pay to this sort of speculation. Also would be great for boring gits like me who could watch then argue with Clive from Houston about it!!
Are you really claiming that the anonymous poster totally invented the Man City ticket price piece? Moxey knows what a poor comment this was so it’s been omitted. Equally Moxey has got away with blue murder on his spin on the pub case being responsible for falling sales. That case has been ongoing ages now and it’s implications should have been reviewed as part of the stadium finance diligence process. If you’re a parent I hope you bring your children up to
I knew I would get blamed eventually!!
My contribution would be over very quickly, I fear, as my mouth has a tendency to run away from my brain. Not that anyone on here has noticed, I’m far too subtle for that!!
My wife puts it so succinctly……..” You’ve got no fuckin’ filters!”
That said, after reading all the comments on this topic, my question is “Who gives a fuck about the responses from officials in the Fans Parliament?”
Moxey is the spinmeister, and everything he says is sanitized to oblivion.
Moxey is only at Wolverhampton Wanderers for one thing and one thing only…Moxey.
The old joke applies…how do you know when Moxey is lying? His lips are moving”
The day he was appointed I told all and sunday “that man is a weasely scumbag”. Anyone who grows up with a name like Jez, and doesn’t change it, has grown to like it, and all that it stands for.
He has proved, over and over, his contempt for anything football related. (I bet he doesnt even know the offside rule.)
All he is concerned with is himself.
So why bother listening to or debating what he says?
The only way forward is improved results.
If we start winning, us mindless, numptie, fickle idiots will get back behind the lads, attendances will get better and the stadium will be rebuilt to plan.
And if you believe that is going to happen with this lot in charge, I have some rather nice ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.
FOJM, & MM
oh god, not this dimwit again…….
Just what I was thinking when I saw your usual cretinous response.
At least this dimwit has the intelligence to be able to spell his name with capital letters.
Those are the big ones, in case you are not sure.
Can you do joined up writing yet?
….cont : to be a lot less naive than you are. Have you been living under a rock. Hilarious how some people have seem the clubs account and just breathed a sigh of relief!! It’s all bullshit!!!!!
If you read my other posts you’d understand that I think that Moxey is a slime ball PR man and as a result is unlikely to make the unguarded comments that are stated in the article. As the press usually do, this article appears to have taken some phrases said on the night and embellished them to make them worse than they were. That doesn’t mean I think Moxey isn’t a git or the club are saints, but it isn’t sound business to alienate the paying punter, especially at a time when the team aren’t doing well.
As I’ve said before there is enough in the official notes to hang Moxey if you want (the wavering over the ground development for one) without needing to embellish his statements.
First of all, it is no scandal that the E & S weren’t at the meeting, they haven’t been allowed for 5 and half yers. Probably on the basis that they put negative spin on everything Wolves.
secondly, it’s no surprise that you would leap at the chance to have a go at Moxey. when I read this I didn’t believe it, and reading the minutes I seem to be right to have.
How naive can you possibly get. Are you saying the Man City quote was plucked out of thin air. Let’s just hope someone else from the Parliament can confirm it.
I’m talking about the ‘NEWSFLASH you are fickle’ and ‘Stoke have better fans’ bit. the Man City thing is his opinion and personally I think he’s got it wrong, the ticket prices should have been (a lot ) lower, but he’s jsut trying to make money for the club. The whole fans parliament was about ticket prices, I’m sure the reason is that they want attendances back up.
ben reckons they have edited the Stoke bit out, according to his mate who has already been proven to be lying about the fickle bit to make it sound worse, when really it was a fair comment.
Proven to be lying? Careful Louie. How are the minutes on the offiical site proof of anything?
maybe I’m being naive but the OFFICIAL site have posted the minutes written by Matt Grayson.
I’m more likely to believe them than some anonymous person, who probably has an agenda against Moxey along with ben. This isn’t the first blog about Moxey and is negative points…
How can you say he is proven to be a liar Louie? And you say I have an agenda? All I have done is publish notes from a member of the Fans’ Parliament, of which me and you are not members. And a meeting which the club has not told us minuted – until this afternoon (coincidentally enough)
Whether I love Moxey or not has nothing to do with what has been posted on the blog today. Why should it when I haven’t written it?!
And a final word to you Louie, just to clarify.
The member who contacted Thomas and I is not a ‘mate.’ Just a member who wanted to put across his account of a meeting that has, until now, not been minuted.
You seemed way to desperate to get this out, to be the first to break the news instead of making sure first.
I’ve replied to you above with a quote with someone who was at the meeting last night who said what Moxey said.
And yes you do have a genuine dislike for him, I’m sure you won’t deny that.
No you haven’t. You’ve quoted a guy off Molineux Mix, whose answers don’t satisfy many of the comments made on here. I read it.
You would take that as gospel and this member as a liar.
Like I say, without a dictaphone neither me or you will be fully satisfied.
This is a blog Louie. You must know the mechanics of one, being as you do have one yourself. Surely you wanted to break things first on yours? (at least you used to if memory serves)
Six days after a meeting which the club has not minuted is not way too long. (although we should have printed it sooner according to others so we literally can’t win!) Neither is it implicitly claiming it to be true. I have made this abundantly clear from the start.
Of course I have a genuine dislike for him! You know that. Like I say, it matters little when I didn’t instigate this, make it up or hunt a ‘mate’ to write it for me in the first place.
Maybe you endorse a ‘right of reply’ ala newspaper legal practice? If indeed we do this, we inextricably move into a pseudo-newspaper outlet, thus losing the very virtues that make a 100% unofficial blog so popular in the first place. I’m sure Thomas has his own views.
Not MolineuxMix, no. I asked him on another forum and have talked to him on twitter.
I believe him because I knew before the fan’s parliament he asked what questions we wanted him to ask at it. Whereas this person seems to have exxagerated and made up some stuff.
I can not spell exaggerated.
http://www.wolves.co.uk/page/News/0,,10307~2368071,00.html
Sometime the club does take a week or so to get these things out. See the one above, the parliment was on 19th May, but not published until 27 May….yes 8 days later. It happens, no coinspiracy!
How can you not have a genuine dislike for Jez Moxey? He’s a smug prat. Our club is run with staggering arrogance, aside from perhaps Morgan, although we don’t hear enough from him to judge.
Despite that i can still recognise he has done good things for us, and lest we forget, been very honsomely rewarded. Even if you believe every word on the officlal website, our manager and CEO have both criticised the fans in recent weeks, and one way or another we pay their wages. And they wonder why gates are falling? The mind boggles
Louie, I am surprised by your lack of discernment.
You actually believe official documents?
Ok – Fine, but somehow trying to twist it to make to appear Thomas or Ben has an anti Moxey agenda, shows a lack of class.
I am writing this in reply to you, courtesy of this blog, regardless of whether I think Moxey a liar or a truthful man, I respect Ben and Thomas’s creation.
Try to see it is possible that the ‘official’ version of the meeting might be propaganda as well as truth.
No I don’t believe official documents, I believe some random guy who sent an email to Thomas/Ben and has since, in my opinion, been proven to either by lying or exaggerating to the extreme, or both.
How does saying Ben has an anti Moxey agenda show a lack of class? Personally, I think Ben always has had something against him. He’s had some cock ups, but he’s also done a considerably good job and people like him, Clive and you often seem to ignore that. His wage is quite big, but I honestly couldn’t give two shits about that.
Why bring me into this arguement?
I’ve said nothing ( today) to piss you off, have I, Louie?
Now you’ve opened the door though, I will say this.
It’s all bollocks, who said what, handbags at 10 paces and all that bullshit.
If we had a winning team, a positive tactical brain at the helm, and we were doing as well as now financially, most of us would be very happy.
But we don’t and we aren’t, therefore the fingers of blame have to be pointed at those responsible, and in this case shit rolls uphill to the management, the board and the owner.
Collectively they have to shoulder the responsibility for all that is wrong at the club.
Us fans have only one imput, to cheer the lads on.
We cannot sway decisions about who is bought, or sold or picked or dropped.
The frustration we feel has to be vented, and the 3 M’s are the only target that can do anything.
Our only other recourse is to stop going to the matches, and that then spites ourselves.
So stop all this petty finger pointing about something that cannot be proved one way or the other, and start a different topic.
In other words, grow up!!!
FOMM
The fact you’re all missing is that this blog has prompted a response from the club, which we probably wouldn’t have got. Nothing irresponsible in the blog.
Glad I’m not the only one thinking this! 🙂
I’m more angry with the response of the good people of Wolverhampton than I am the club regarding this.
They think they have a position to defend, in the same way managers defend racist, wife beating, drug taking footballers.
However I expect Wolves fans to be seeing things with open eyes, weighing things up and using their swedes.
Frankly I’m not too surprised Wolverhampton is a pit of unemployment with the bright sparks that populate the place these days.
And whoever disagrees with your opinion is a moron, grow up.
Found your level I see Louie!
And my level would be…
I’m not going to try and convince a 16 years old who mainly got Cs at GCSE he’s thick.
The English education system has done that for me much better than I ever could.
I got 3 Cs. Out of 11 I wouldn’t call that mainly?
I honestly don’t expect that comment to be on their much longer, and if it is I will be extremely disappointed.
Thats a loaded point kwolf, maybe some people believe the official page, but most of the points contrary to the blogger are just standing up for being open minded, which I think is reasonable. If we always jump to conclusions and take a sceptical view, it shows a far worse view of yourself rather than society.
Insults dont make a good argument either.
thats just a general point as im getting frustrated at the descending tone of comments
Hi Kwolf.
Did you know they’ve removed the worf “gullible” from the dictionary?
When trying to be patronising and arrogant, it’s usually best to get your spelling right
You speaking from experience? What you doing having a pop at me anyway? I’ve followed all your posts on this thread and agree with you 100%!
My angst is aimed at those who are gullible enough to buy Moxeys spin machine without ever questioning the utterances of a proven liar.
Apologies for any ambiguity and thanks for your input on this topic as you’ve made the points I felt needed making.
This post has certainly caused a great response and some great debate,I think moxey has
said everything that was writen on the blog because thats the sort of slimeball he is.Everything
he spits out is shite all he thinks about is his own pocket he does’nt give a flyingf..k about
the fans then why should he,he can walk away so can McIdiot and to some extent so can
morgan when he’s built all his houses at compton that makes him millions then he to can sell the club and go and buy Liverpool F C on the back of wolves and takes Moxey with him.FOMM
FOJM.
It certainly has – I think this is the most passionate response to any post made on wolvesblog!
Ypu’ve misquoted Moxey….he said that “some” fans are fickle, and he’s 100% correct in that. This is the reason for not publishing minutes from a talking shop…there are too many people who want to contradict and stir and thus participants tend be very guarded in their comments.
The fact is…a large proportion of Wolves fans haven’t got a pot to piss in, have no experience of any complex thought or management, and wouldn’t have a clue how to do anything other than stamp their feet if Morgan and Moxey were to walk out. The club have got every right to get frustrated…they’re building a new stadium and all they’re getting is abuse from people who contribute F all.
I’ve got news for you all. All Chief Executives are thought to be “smug prats”…it goes with the territory. They run it as a business……why should they commit about 25 million quid if the place is full of morons complaining about having to pay to go inside? These fans are destroyers, not builders.
Yes, prices are too high..and Wolves seem like they want to reduce them because they need more people attending…..but they won’t give them away for nothing.
The problem is cultural within Wolverhampton…people want something for nothing, and they want a good moan about everything.
My advice…get out of Wolverhampton, see the world, go and visit other countries and then experience the work ethic of a successful country and how it puts the UK to shame. Then realise how lucky you are, come back, shut the F up and get on with supporting your locality and local businesses. If you cant do that, sod off down the Hawthorns.
At last. Someone else who attended. What else did they say mate?
What a tedious post, pretty offensive too
Ah, abusive “morons” who are “destroyers, not builders” wanting “something for nothing”. That problem being “cultural” within the city of Wolverhampton, where many folk “haven’t got a pot to piss in” and have “no experience of any complex thought”.
Well, that’s sure cleared everything up. What a relief! This has never before seemed so obvious! So, now we know. It is all the fans’ fault. Oh yes, although the more enlightened among them (there can’t be many) will surely blame underlying causes such as the local economy and education system. Why Wolves are playing so poorly, so often has nothing whatsoever to do with poor management at board or playing staff level. Those pinstripe suits, they never ever make a mistake or misjudgment do they? They’re only misquoted, or quoted out of context, as people who don’t carry dictaphones are nevertheless prone to tell us.
Is your handle “Hocuspocus” something to do with what you mutter to yourself as you imbibe your hallucinogens?
You sound like somebody’s put mushrooms in your congee, rather than any hallucinogenics I’ve taken.
You sir, are a pompous prat.
Agree with Hocuspocus, and Kowloon he isnt saying it is the fans fault. Just that fans should lay off. For gods sake the club is in the best place it has been for decades.
Financially
Staff
Manager
Board
Stadium
Shame it’s the same old fans heeeey.
in the best place thanks to massive investment made by the fans and Steve Morgan, what was Jez Moxey’s role in it before the Money came in? I am now being told we were relegation favourite’s when Mick came in, then the money came which took us forward. Moxey has successfully alienated the fans, attendances are going down now and it also appears he is back tracking on the stadium because he didn’t d basic due diligence!
More than that a current Director told me (not a friend of a friend who used to work at the Mol…) himself that they signed off the £16m phase 1 redevelopment three days before ‘Survival Sunday’. Absolutely barmy!
If its true, “You judge a man by the company he keeps”, what does that say for Jez with support from the likes of you and the foul mouthed Johnwolf? The vile, obnoxious bile that binds you all together will be a fitting epitaph when the Moxey era ends. Cant wait!
Look you silly man. Do you not think Moxey is working to a specific brief? Do you put the incredible price rises, the constant bullshit about “paying championship prices to watch premier league football” down to Moxey? He’s the monkey, not the organgrinder. If it’s all down to Moxey, why wasn’t he squeezing the supporters when Hayward owned Wolves?
Morgan is setting the income targets and Moxey is achieving them, and keeping the club in the black.
A very big Scottish firm turned down the stadium contract because of Morgan and his business methods, not Moxey, who they’d worked for at Rangers and found to be as fair and straight up as they come.
I don’t like the prices, I dont like the crap they peddle, I dont like to see the poorly paid priced out of attending matches, and i want to see Wolves forced to bring prices down and actually fit into their local community instead of trying to justify a business model that gets most of it’s income from remote TV contracts.
From next season clubs need alternate sources of income because owners cannot just pump in finance like they do now. A new stadium will expand Wolves income from non-football related activity and it is essential…but it takes time and a bit of medium term planning.
If all fans can do is complain about being called fickle, when some of them prove it every day of their lives (!), and use baseless childish self-centred arguments that show they are neither thick-skinned or bright enough to see what’s happening in the world…perhaps Moxey and Morgan will just jump ship and leave Wolves to find another owner.
Yes Pal. I’d imagine the whole lot of them would love to walk away right now and leave Wolves to find a new owner because of the desperate spoilt brats who fail to support them or their plans.
If somebody wants to put some money on the table, go and knock on Morgan’s door.
I’m all for lowering prices and getting more people into the stadium.
Take a look around you and find something better.
Yes, I do think Moxey is working to a specific brief. That is to make himself as rich as possible.
I suggest you are ‘silly’, ‘thin skinned’, and ‘not bright enough’ to see his simple agenda for what it is.
Your ‘childish’ and ‘self-centred’ attempts to support a business plan that involved no ‘planB’ meeting prior to avoiding relegation last Spring and signing off a major capital spend without knowing to the nearest £40m what our revenue for the following year would be aren’t very compelling.
So you ‘dont like the prices’? After nearly 12 years of Moxey, you ‘dont like the prices’??
And yet you try to convince others that more of the same from Moxey gives us hope that prices will be lowered?? What are you on?
As for finding ‘something better’ – no thanks, there’s nothing better than the Wolves for me.
I bet your a cockalorum, a lot like greaseball Jez Moxey.
completely off topic but Berra has come out and said we need to retain possession against chelski and not just punt the ball up the field – is he trying to wind us up?
wtf happened at goodison then?
http://www.football365.com/wolverhampton-wanderers/7325465/Berra-We-have-to-keep-the-ball
Ah! What were missing is that those aimless punts up field were actually miss placed 5 yard passes to our midfielders! We were trying to play tiki taka football it was just on the day our execution was all off!
On a serious note based on this comment, could this possibly be the end of our kick off ritual of giving the ball to Hennessey to charitably punt back to the opposition?
Don’t worry every one. I have a mate who was there. He said that what the official site said was true. Its as easy as that. My mates, Mums, mates, friend Phil said it.
Wolves fans are fickle. Sorry I meant some, and that is true, Stick with Mick, Jez and Morgan.
All of the rumour and bad sentiment from this post aside I would like to say a big thanks to Ben and Thomas. I have been reading this blog from almost the day it started and they have been brilliant in their dedication to bringing out quality wolves related content. I think some of the abuse aimed at them, especially Ben, about this has been disgusting. I hope you guys don’t take it all too seriously; you are just encountering one of the downsides of success.
Carry on doing what you are doing boys, a blog started by fans trying to bring us the most current and relevant content. I truly believe that there is no agenda other than striving to be an online version of chatting about wolves down the pub. This subject was always going to be a difficult one to cover but reading back through the original post there is nothing to suggest bias and at every contentious point there is a word or statement highlighting the inability to prove these statements as fact. Brilliant journalism. You should break stories like these if you are given them and I believe you did it in the most professional way possible. This is a blog not a news outlet so you can be as judgemental and biased as you want but you weren’t so kudos.
Anyway just my view on it all and to say thanks.
Agreed. Ben I may disagree with the timing of the article, but I would defend your right to post it!
I think that its a good thing that we’ve still got so many people that are passionate about Wolves, considering recent performances.
Cheers Sam. That’s a lovely post, thanks. Despite what Jez may think, I have a pretty thick skin!
Blogs like this is what I have given up so many hours of my time for over the past 2 years or more.
If I start ignoring what a fan has sent us for fear of upsetting others with other standpoints I may as well stop bothering.
It is a blog, and it has been our best one ever!
All I need is someone with a dictaphone!
My secretary once asked me if she could use my dictaphone.
I told her no, use your finger like every one else!!
Middle finger of course, which is the American version of two fingers, meaning fuck you, or fuck off, or any other go away expression you care to insert.
So, middle finger to all those who have been stupid on this particular blog topic.
Naming no names, taking no sides, but you know who you are.
Now, let’s get behind the lads, we CAN beat Chelsea with the right tactics, team and desire….can’t we??

If nothing else at least this blog has made the news. See the link below.

And they wonder why they don’t get invitations to anything with headlines like that…
This FOMM things a bit school kid like isnt it.
Why, are you still in school, and haven’t the braincells to decipher it?
FUCK OFF MICK McCARTHY.
There, make you feel better?
I know it does me.
FYI ( which means for your information) if you go back 2 years to our pathetic surrender at Old Trafford where McDickwad gave up without a fight even before the kickoff, you will see that is when i first floated the idea that perhaps it was time for McBraindead to go.
I will keep up the FOMM until he’s gone.

Clive, Struggling to read that one I see…. I didn’t say that I was in school, I posed the question that abbreviating swear words may be a bit childish.
Are you talking about the situation where we had the suspended fine for fielding 10 changes?
Yes, he is. It was embarrassing.
I doubt anyone was moaning when ‘clueless’ Mick and Wolves went on to beat Burnley and stay up. Thats all that matters surely. Not the chance to moan about a manager making changes from there team, for other players from their squad?
It would’ve been impossible to win that game without resting the whole team.
IMPOSSIBLE.
Whether it was his resting so many players that helped us to beat Burnley or not we’ll actually never know.
One could argue conversely that by giving them an extra game against Utd they’d be sharper and fitter.
One thing is for sure though, by taking the action that he did he basically came out and said, “We’re not good enough to beat you, so we’re going to give you the points.”
If your manager concedes that you just aren’t good enough then it is embarrassing for the club and in my book he’s not doing his job well by saying this.
I think the main thing is we DID go on to beat Burnley. Not sure why people are using a articl on a blog about Jez Moxley to question MM’s team selection 2 years ago.
