So the fans’ parliament minutes are out in the public domain, meaning I can share my notes from the evening as well.

In an attempt to cut to the chase, I will begin with my conclusions and subsequent predictions after listening to what was said, before working my way backwards. My shorthand wasn’t in the finest of fettle, as I was asking a few questions and wanted to be looking directly at Jez Moxey when he answered them, rather than my notepad with my head down. So in some instances, the quotes are indirectly taken rather than direct, but this should become clear.
So, my overriding conclusion, purely subjective and of my own personal opinion, is as follows:
1. There is literally no hope for next season from what I can glean, unless we find a new owner.
JM said: “There is nothing to add since the end of season dinner. We are in discussions. We remain optimistic. There is no timeline. Don’t get yourself too excited. We want exactly what you all want and nothing changes. The situation is exactly the same and let me reassure everybody that we read your comments. We are aware of the feelings that people are expressing and our fingers are on the pulse.”
2. Jez Moxey was particularly careful in phrasing plans for summer strengthening…check the semantics.
JM said: “We are trying very hard to strengthen the team, irrespective of whether there is a new owner. We are going to continue to try hard to strengthen the team, regardless of whether there is a new owner or not.”
Call me a cynic, but the ‘trying hard’ bit sounded too pertinent to me. It was not a categorical statement that we will definitely strengthen the team. Stating that you will try hard to do something is completely different to saying that you will! These comments really underwhelmed me, underpinning my overriding conclusion above in point 1.
3. To underline my ‘no hope’ conclusion, check out the quote from JM below when one fan contested that we would only be able to strengthen the team by selling players (being as all the parachute payments have ended)
JM didn’t rule out having to sell players (from what my memory serves, at least), with the following vague response: “We want to get a team who can compete.”
4. Jez Moxey’s money contradiction…
When I asked about what objectives / brief Kenny Jackett is working towards, JM said: “We would like new investment if we can get it. With a? new owner potentially comes with new investment policies. Ideally, we want to be challenging for promotion regardless of ownership. I think being in the top six if at all possible is a minimum requirement. Kenny Jackett is here to help us do that.”
But he earlier asserted that money is not the be-all-and-end-all. He talked about clubs spending big and not getting it right (quoting Manchester United and £250 million) before talking about nurturing players like Wallace, who was a League 2 player of the year, and Jordan Graham, who has been carefully developed. He talked about always having ‘one eye on the future.’
My question that followed was: “How much is ‘one eye on the future’ a genuine philosophy that runs in your heart as being the right way to operate, or how much is it Steve Morgan simply saying ‘I’m tightening the purse-strings and you’ve got no money? So buying Wallace, loaning Ojo is the only choice you have?’
JM appeared to argue a case for the latter by reminding the room of the success we have had when we have spent money. He said we have a history of doing well when we do spend, such as 2008/09. He reminded the room of the day Sir Jack made a fateful decision in a London conference room following promotion in 2003 when the board was told that very little money would be made available. Had it have been, we could have really established ourselves, claimed JM.
So he ultimately agreed that money was important, having earlier argued the case against it being important?! (Indeed, in his last FP appearance his direct quote was finding ‘a knight in shining armour to fund our aspirations’ after reminding us of the strides made by Ipswich Town and Birmingham City).
I’d suggest to Jez, with respect, that extolling the virtues of ‘doing things the right way’ is a tad disingenuous, when there is literally no other option but to operate in this way in the first place, owing to a chairman who has downed tools!
I did follow up by saying to Jez that he must wish he could go to Steve Morgan and ask for £50 million to get us promoted, which would be pocket money to SM. We could then bring in players of the ilk of Andre Gray, which is surely preferable. It was this observation that Jez followed with his examples of Wolves doing well when we spend money.
5. Kenny Jackett is a dead man walking.
Dave Benton, a guy who I respect for asking straight questions, asked: ‘How long are the club prepared to put up with the most dire, boring, clueless football that has ever been served up before they ditch the manager? (And before almost no one bothers to turn up because it is so dreadful?)
JM answered, and I quote: “”Not long. This past season is not what we wanted. It is not acceptable and it must change!”
Ergo, Jackett will have to fashion a silk purse out of a sow’s ear with no solid pledge given on improving the team (other than doing their best to improve it) let alone any assurances on how we would fund any new additions with existing player sales not being ruled out. Let’s not forget the Stearman saga from last season. If I was Kenny, I would be worried.
6. Other questions I asked:
Is a clause in Kevin McDonald’s contract prohibiting Kenny Jackett from playing him?
JM answered: “What do you think?” to which I responded, ‘I don’t know.’ He pushed again: ‘What do you think?’ I said was a claim that could have legs. He then categorically denied that there was a clause in Kevin McDonald’s contract and said it was the manager’s decision on whether he played or not.
Interestingly though, a fan asked a similar question in the parliament earlier on in the evening, and Moxey actually sounded more guarded, and said there was a reason why McDonald wasn’t playing, before appearing to stop himself from elaborating. He seemed to go on the defensive, stating: I don’t know another club who would give a fan chance to ask the chief executive this. I’m not going into full detail but Kenny preferred the other players he chose.”
It came across as being guarded to me, hence me asking the follow-up question on K Mac.
Comparing Wolves in 2016 to when you first joined the club in 2000, season ticket sales are down, quality on the pitch is down, commercial revenue is presumably down, expectation is down and apathy is at an all-time high. How do you assess your performance during this time?
JM replied: “I will allow the people who employ me to assess that as they control whether I am here or not. They know the detailed criteria on which I am judged.”
7. Money Shop sponsorship.
Most of the points are on the official minutes. No amount of signatures are going to change the decision. The CEO of Money Shop Stuart Howard was keen to state how he is turning the business around from a mess of 18 months ago, from where a great deal of negativity stems. He has now changed their lending criteria and he is trying to ensure they do not lend to anyone who cannot afford it again in the future. Also, they are going to work with the credit unions in Wolverhampton. A lot of charity work was outlined too.
And Wolves are committed to giving programme space to other lending unions / independent bodies, which is what MPs asked for in their letters of complaint.
My thoughts for what they’re worth: I just look at the Money Shop sponsorship through the following, simple ground: Was it the right thing to do? In life, you have choices and generally, you know in your heart of hearts what the right thing to do is. Yes, this sounds horribly woolly and opaque I know, but it is what I go off.
In my opinion, this was the wrong thing to do. I don’t want to revisit Charles Ross’s excellent open letter but it is on this blog if you need further elaboration. In the FP, the club were defiant in their view that this was the right thing to do, whilst acknowledging that they do care about what supporters think.
Matt Grayson’s overriding argument was that there is a place in society for regulated loans. ‘Regulated credit should not be demonised,’ he said.
Jez Moxey said, and I quote: “We are not here to solve society. We are not here to do that, that’s not our job. Our job is to win football matches.”
He followed this up by saying that 2 million people need this service, and if it ceased to exist, what would the alternative be?
Would he do things differently if he had this time again? “Absolutely no,” he answered.
And JM offered a gentle reminder about all of the positive community work that the club carries out, which some fans might not remember.
“We, as you know, give a lot of money to charity and have done so for a long time. When we run stories about donations, which run into hundreds of thousands of pounds, people are not really interested, but they are interested in lots of other things.”
He added: “There is a genuine synergy with the Money Shop.” (This quote in relation to the amount of charity work that both businesses carry out).
Bizarrely, after one fan argued that High Street banks like Barclays were way more reprehensible than the Money Shop because they plunged the nation into a recession in the first place, Jez Moxey asked fans in the room who banked with Barclays to raise their hands. I felt this was unnecessary and frankly, beside the point, but that’s just my humble opinion.
There were other points raised but the topics didn’t strike a chord with me, so feel free to refer to the official minutes for these (JM’s role on the Football League, pigeon crap on seats etc etc).
Summing up
As is always the case after a meeting on the fans’ parliament, I report back honestly, backed up by pages of shorthand. And most quotes written above are direct, taken from 100words per minute shorthand in my pad. Those that are not direct quotes are written indirectly and I think I make this clear.
To sum up, we need a new owner as a matter of urgency. We have no money, we have no confirmation of whether we will definitely improve the squad – let alone how funds will be made available in the first place – and Kenny Jackett is skating on thin ice.
Oh, and Kevin McDonald most definitely doesn’t have a clause in his contract!
If this parliament tells me anything, then it is that we’re quite probably in for one of the longest summers in recent history.
Thanks for reading. All comments welcome.

I posted this not long before Ben put up this latest blog, so apologies if y’all have already read it.
Just read the minutes of the Fan’s Parliament on the official sanitized site.
I just cannot believe the arrogance of that fat smarmy fucker.
His response to Ben’s question regarding his performance over the past 15 years was:
” I will allow the people who employ me to assess that as they control whether I am here or not. They know the detailed criteria on which I am judged”
I will allow?
I will fuckin’ allow?
Who the fuck does he think he is?
HE will allow his employers to assess?
Now he thinks he is some kind of deity, allowing the people who pay his bloated paycheck to assess him.
How very magnanimous of you, you big headed slimeball.
How many other favours will you allow your employers?
Will you allow them to increase your remuneration?
Will you allow them to up the price of pies and other concessionary items, enabling that leech of a wife of yours to skim even more money off the club’s customers?
Fan’s Parliament?
You don’t give a shit to the fans.
Nah, its just another night out for you, so you can claim more expenses, and lord it over us poor sods who have zero chance of changing anything.
I’m gonna call my mate Donald, and see if he will buy the club, after he’s been elected Prez.
Fuck You moxey.
I love it and agree with your comments totally
Hi Clive
You say that Moxey doesn’t give a shit about us fans ? You are right and I can prove it. I wrote a letter to my fellow fatty and I was gobsmacked to get a reply. I was even more gobsmacked to read the contents of his letter. The patronising bastard actually wrote “do you come and watch Wolves as we can’t find any trace of you on our system ?” Sue and I have been to 49 matches since 2012 and every ticket transaction is listed against my supporter number on the MyWolves part of their website – I have checked. He probably thought, 49 matches in 4 years, not worth a decent reply.
Hiya Newark Wolves and Sue …. Great comment mate …with hard evidence too ….
You should have asked him to elaborate on his misguided info..
However …. If he does read this blog …like it’s rumoured …. Then look fwd to a reply ….NOT…
Just more evidence of his head up his rear end ……. OH AND A LIAR …!!
– If Ryan Giggs leaves Old Trafford, I’d sign him up. He did well the time he was in charge of Man U, although it would be a risky move since he has minimum experience. I really like his philosophy (not very different from Ferguson’s
– We’ve been linked with Antenucci, a player I’m a fan of. He could do well up front with Dico or Mason.
Ever get the feeling your being cheated????
Thanks for this Ben.
Oh Dear Oh Dear!
Things are looking pretty bleak.
I could make comments about arrogance and self serving attitudes but Mr Houston has made them quite clearly already.
As far as the Money Shop is concerned, I’m sure nobody would deny that the facility to borrow short term loans is important to the likes of us who don’t earn half a million a year for ‘allowing’ their employers to decide on their futures.
What cannot be justified are the horrific interest charges.
Not really helping the community.
And I’ve said before that we shot ourselves in the foot allowing their name to be plastered over a stand for several years before any objection was raised.
You either take their twenty pieces of silver or you don’t.
What WOULD we all say if they bought the club and offered the manager £100m to get into the Premier League.
Absolutely brilliant is this Ben.
Anyone reading the official minutes will be seduced into thinking that everything is being done to try to improve things within WWFC.
THE STARK REALITY IS THAT THE OFFICIAL MINUTES OF SPIN, SOFTNESS, HOPE IN DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES, WE’RE TRYING OUR BEST ……BLAH BLAH BLAH AND MORE BLAH.
REALITY IS EXACTLY AS YOU PUT IT. YOU HAVEN’T SANITIZED IT WHATSOEVER.
I read Moxeys answer and they’re all the crap we want to hear, “we’re trying hard” ..”we don’t like where we are” …. “We must improve” “…………… NOT ONE SERIOUS WORD OF OWNERSHIP OR RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CRAP THIS LOT HAS REDUCED US TO…….HAPPY TO BAG THE MONEY BUT NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY.!!
Moxey didn’t answer your question ate … You asked him … TO ASSESS HIS OWN PERFORMANCE … NOT REFER THE QUESTION TO MORGAN. COULDNT HE ANSWER A QUESTION REGARDS HIS OWN PERFORMANCE ….DAMN RIGHT MATE …COZ IT’S APPALLING.
I notice too he didn’t really commit to answering the KMac question..
He’s just a waster of my money and thousands like me.
Moxey …..people are finding you out..
I’m also interested in his remark about 2 fans being on the board …. John Gough and whoever the other one was … How did they get proposed a nod elected ….?
There’s a bad smell about all of this.
…..and elected.
Thanks Twix. see you at Mon-ma’ Monday?
will catch up soon!
What a waste of time those meeting are… and what a complete Tosser Moxey is..
Totally out of touch…
If everyone’s a winner Jez WHY are we 14th in the table with NO HOPE…
Am I surprised that Morgan is happy with the sponsorship deal.. of course not he has been fleecing money out of the good people of Wolverhampton in exactly the same way as the Sponsors (cant even bring myself to write their name) …
They are all the same. Not interested in the football or the success of the club.. Just interested in what they can get out of it while they are here for themselves and in some cases their wives…
Next season… Newcastle have Rafa !! Villa could have Di Matteo !!
We got Jackett !! Doesn’t even bear thinking about..
This lot running this club are as bad as the Bhattis
Great analysis Nige …. Especially the Damning Non interest in the football aspect …after all it is a football club.
This lot are getting slowly found out ….
Slowly is the right word Twixfix
Until the fans start to organize properly and start meaningful protests like they did against the Bhatti’s then nothing will change…
I just don’t see the fans being able to or have the desire to these days..
Hence Moxey can do what he likes and lip service against it on here or any other form of social media wont make the slightest bit of difference..
And of course in those days there was no social media…
Divide and Conquer is his attitude to the fans.. and he succeeds year after year…
even if we got Benitez or Di Matteo, they would be able to do any good with the current squad, what we need is the £60 million to spend that they’ll have. Maybe even Jackett could do Ok if he had a war chest.
I apologize, Ben.
I forgot to add that you deserve a medal for your restraint when addressing that slimy toad, how you didn’t beat the ever loving snot out of him I will never know!!
Cheers Clive. They are always interesting evenings! From experience, the written word can be more damning than what is verbally communicated. But what I typed was fair.
In my opinion, the owner is way more culpable than Jez Moxey. IE, he rode into town, spoke at Hall of Fame evenings about his love for Ron Flowers and nostalgic Wolves cigarette cards, the beautiful gold kit, the heart and body transplant, and then, the eye-moistening platitudes in the North Bank Museum about our great club…Anyone listened to it?
He actually says on the museum video, and I quote: “The things that you decide steer the destiny of the club!”
…within months he wants to f**ks off!!!!! He has duped us all. How much money has he actually put into the club since his nominal £30 million deal for a tenner? Not one pence. (I will stand this up soon in another blog)
And how much has he made from the Compton Park development?
What Jez Moxey has, whether he likes it or not, is an uncanny knack of alienating his fan-base no matter how hard he tries to empathise, sympathise or listen. A combination of factors work to this end-effect. I read the comments on here – and most other forums – and they are almost unanimously damning of him.
In my personal view, his knack of angering fans will continue while Pat Phelan (a Corrie reference, sorry) continues to blacken the club we all love.
Because Moxey can only defend his paymaster – and paint pictures about eyes, and futures, and youngsters and their hunger to cover him – apathy and anger will grow.
For Jez Moxey’s sake, your sake, and the hundreds of thousands of Wolves fans’ sakes around the world, Steve Morgan has to go.
Particularly interested by Moxey’s assertion that they do read comments like on here and ergo’have their finger on the pulse’.
Ok then……………..Steve Morgan is a pathetic, timid little mouse of a man who has rinsed the club for millions and millions of pounds and has effectively danced on the grave of the great Sir Jack Hayward and for this will be forever despised by all those associated with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Jez Moxey is a pompous, arrogant, money-grabbing liar with all the charisma and warmth of a rattle snake with herpes. His small minded yet high handed approach to financial management is so archaic as to make Scrooge and Shylock wring their hands in disbelief.
Kenny Jackett is a nice man but way out of his depth and with a football coaching and man management style still stuck in the 1990’s. Like Morgan and Moxey he is small minded, small time and devoid of ambition or drive.
Unless and until these three crooked cheating incompetents leave we will continue to be marooned in the middle of a great big ocean with no rudder, no sail, no motor and above all no hope as all of these things have been taken away and sold by the three pigs with their snouts in the Wolves trough.. As each day passes the shoreline where wealth, success and happiness reside becomes ever further away.
Why dont you stop beating around the bush, Bedford, and say what you really think??!!
That was the polite version Clive!
Remember the first series of Blackadder when the King (Brian Blessed) was asked for a response to Spain’s demands and he said “Do you want me to be honest or tactful?”. “Oh tactful sire” came the reply. “Ok then tell them to go and get stuffed”.
An excellent summation of our status and prospects. Our once great club is fast going down the pan, yet it is abundantly clear that those in charge whilst fully understanding this, are completely unable / unwilling to do anything to stop the rot. Self interest alone governs all their actions. The club and its genuine fans count for nothing
The reality is that there will be no meaningful additions to the playing staff this season, and that any young player with potential will not be around come August. Farewell Iorfa and Hause. We will have to make do with the mediocrity that we have, supplement by yet more of the idiot Thelwell`s “ones for tomorrow ” on whom we will dribble away a few hundred K. Even as we speak Thelwell is believed to be combing the football hotbeds — Minehead, Margate and Bilston et al.
Then there is the position of Mr Jacket. A totally inept and clueless coach concentrating on protecting his position by being the ultimate crawler of a “Yes Man “. Why will he not stand up and be counted ? It is rumored that part of his vacation has been set aside to attend a ‘ finishing school ‘ specializing in improving groveling practices, with particular emphasis on hat doffing and knee bending techniques essential for when he has to report yet more failure to his lords and masters Morgan and Moxey. Is it true that he also intends to be pre-record his post match gobbledy gook interviews for the first 20 odd games of the season, already certain of his team`s total inability to play half decent football and get some results ? ?
Let`s face the facts. Our club has become a joke. Massive failure is almost inevitable. Nothing will change for as long as Morgan, Moxey Jacketk and Thelwell remain. Enjoy the summer.
Well said Mike – I agree 100% with everything you said. New owners are the only hope for salvation as they would inevitably sweep away the dross like Moxey, Jackett and Thelwell. I just want to have some hope and some ambition again, to have a reason to be excited about and interested in the new season and to be able to dream about what might happen.
Thanks Mike, much appreciatd. I see Hause and Iorfa are currently shining for the u21s!
Many thanks Ben for your time in attending these events and being one of the seemingly few who are asking important questions.
I’d love to know whats going through KJs mind currently, I know there are a lot of bloggers who think he is a yes man, for me, I’m not so sure, he has resigned from his last two jobs, there can’t be too many managers around who have done that, the normal route being – wait until you are sacked and collect the pay off, I’m assuming resigning means you forfeit the rest of your contract.
So it will be interesting to see if he walks or gets pushed, he’s making comments publicly about the need for new signings, if those don’t arrive, will he resign? based on previous evidence he may well do, but who knows?
Thanks for taking the time to read Simon. You never know. Doubtful I’d say, but it wouldn’t be beyond the realms of fantasy. imagine if he did?! That would create a headache or two along the corridors of power?!
My take..
1 Moxey eats all in front of him at these events and if Jacket was as good as he is at dealing with parliament meetings we would be better than Leicester…Mox is spectacular in his succinct replies ands spin.. imo sorry Clive he is under instruction to CEO the club and squash rebels like ants which he does with his eyes closed…I’m becoming an admirer..(hails of derision lol) and he does stuff that we don’t know about because he ain’t telling..
My biggest criticism is that he must be crap at qualifying and closing a deal as in selling the club..he’s let buyers slip through his fingers …perhaps I’ll apply…
2. Moxey and Morgan are not stupid.
I agree KJ has been exposed (for a fkg long time for me ) and it’s obvious that the guilitine has been in their hands several times but some how KJ has been redeemed I suggest by luck ..it could be that a person who was going to replace him bottled it ( another example of not being able to close a deal) and therefore KJ lived on again…unfortunately to everyone’s expense..
3. Regards a buyer we have to start again and prospect one.
4. Nb x2…We really really really have more to worry about than the fkg Money shop..If they come up as has been said with a load of dosh to buy the club (I’m certain it’s been discussed) then so be it.Wolves are bigger and more important than moral ethics ..Ask Clive if we should kick a West Brom fan if he is down..
It’s the way it is.
If Moneyshop came up with £100M I’d change the name of the club to MoneyshopWanderers FC…
5 Our coming season is on a tightrope with KJ holding one end..if ever there was a more perilous situation as in relegation or play offs then this is it..My saviour Williamson
needs to be fit and Dicko more so Graham needs to play (or be played off the bench KJ!)
6 if we are floundering at Xmas KJ needs to be sacked.
7. It would be nice to know the real story behind McDonald I’m amazed it hasn’t come out (like he’s a crazed alcoholic or something) but…….folks he’s still with us.For now.
8 Everyone get Valium tablets ready (or 8 pints of Bank’s) for when KJ plays musical chairs with the bench does his wonderful pre match interviews and worse still post match ones..my stomach is already churning..
God help us as I’ve often said before ..with the Vile taking the piss with their new owner (the biggest stab in the heart for me) we really do deserve better than this shite…..
COYW
Thanks Ben for your time, effort and commitment to the cause.
What is clear, and has been for some time, is that until new ownership arrives nothing will change.
The exception being the manager, who I suspect will become the chosen scapegoat, if as predicted by many, we are in the bottom half at Christmas. I choose the term scapegoat, because although I`m not a fan of Jacket (despite him being a proper gentleman), I honestly dont think anybody can manage this club to success in these circumstances. Put Mourinho, Ferguson, Guardiola, whoever in the chair, I dont think any of them would fare well. KJ seems bent on avoiding defeat as the first option, his way of garnering enough points to be safe, which is what is bringing nothing but apathy from the terraces, and for this approach alone I`ll be happy to see him go. As for Morgan, we were only ever a toy at best, and once the initial enthusiasm was over, the current situation was always likely. We were spoilt by Sir Jack, who really did have the club in his heart. My take on Jez Moxey is that he`s financially very capable, but he has no clue about what really makes a football club successful, even after all this time in the job .I think we can safely say we arent getting promotion any time soon, as he`s promised free coach travel for fans to away games when if we do, there`s no way he`d risk that expense unless he knew it was never going to happen. He knows the cost of everything and the value of nothing.
The Money Shop issue is a non issue for me, I get why people are upset, but we`re all different and whilst I respect their anger, it doesnt bother me.
Going forward, Morgan loves Moxey, he`s done him massive favours by being the pantomime villain, deflecting some heat from him, and at the same time keeping Morgans pockets nice and full. so he`ll never be sacked, consequently, it isnt in Moxeys interest to find a new owner, one who might well look at the lack of achievement on the field and want to make radical changes at the club, and thereby lies the rub
Thus the “search” will continue, until every penny has been rinsed out of the place and we are in League 1 (or worse).
Depressing isnt it, and many of us can see this, and thats why apathy has taken hold.
Miracle Required – Applications to Molineux welcomed
Thanks Tim, much appreciated. Scapegoat is certainly a word I would use. Sure, KJ has made errors of judgement (Fickle goalkeeping decisions / continual axing of Price / Edwards on the left / Mason saga etc) but I still don’t think he could have done much more with the hand he has been dealt. The only grey area is precisely how much say he had on Coady / Saville / Mason / Byrne. I would suggest very little but the club would doubtless argue the opposite. (only a hunch I have, certainly not fact) And depression is a pertinent word too. I feel a bit low after Monday night!
Thanks Ben for the great report. You must surely need urgent therapy after putting up with that obnoxious spin-master Moxey. It would make my blood boil. After a very poor season we’re told that the team is unbalanced. It’s not just the team. So now it’s official, Kenny will be getting his jacket if things don’t improve. Kenny could have done better with the resources available but the word scapegoat still comes to mind. I’m also reminded of those Fawlty Towers episodes where Basil Fawlty does something wrong and then smacks the poor waiter to deflect blame. It must be the Fawlty Footie we serve up.
The Moxey Shop, sorry, Money Shop, deal has added insult to injury. It is indefensible and yet they went to great pains to defend it.
If Jackett goes, how long can Moxey survive? After sixteen years we’re right back to square one. Moxey talks about the club being a business. There can’t be any business in the world that would tolerate a CEO in office for sixteen years with no growth or improvement!
Thanks DWW. Yes, I do fear for KJ and feel he is a sitting duck.
I remember Colin Lee phoning Radio WM to counter Jez Moxey’s early claim that he gave the green light to sell Ade Akinbiye…
…He was sacked a week later.
For Jackett, the only person he should concern himself with keeping onside if he wants to keep his job is JM. After all, the owner isn’t bothered anymore.
So if he is unhappy with being told that a top 6 place is the aim – irrespective of being financially hamstrung in what promises to be the most competitive championship yet – then he had better suck it up. Or resign.
I don’t envy him.
Got nothing but bile to add, so I’ll refrain, and simply thank you for yet another fantastic submission Ben and your commitment to a cause/club that really isnt deserving right now.
Long summer ahead, I read somewhere that out of the darkness cometh the light … well hopefully when that light comes it will reveal that we are shot of the two fat pricks in charge.
…
Cheers Admant. appreciate your kind words.
Easier said than done, but I am going to try and immerse myself in other sports over the summer as this current period of stagnation threatens my outlook on life!
Cricket tests and T20s, Euro2016, Ryder Cup, Olympics, Wimbledon, The Open…A summer of sport to occupy the mind.
And you never know, we might have a buyer by then! (ok, maybe not but you can dream!)
Bloody hell , I thought this was going to be a boring summer!! This blog is better that the football, Bedford s post the best for a while imo. Thanks ben , I have a little thought from time to time that goes a bit like , we finally get new owners who immediately remove moxey and kj , the very next home game is sold out in days with fans locked outside, a raucous molineux stuff whoever we are playing 5, 1 ( just for Clive) and the new owner says smugly in his post game interview
That wuz Bostin , I ay erd the South bonk mek that much noiz since bully played and we day even run out o grey pays n bacon ! How that last shower got it so rung I dow know. Utw.
Some of the utterings coming out of the Fans’ Parliament put me in mind of one of the great dystopian novels.
Set in the near future…
The country is under the control of a privileged elite of the Inner Party, that persecutes individualism and independent thinking as ‘Thoughtcrime’.
The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. It is not interested in the good of others; it is interested solely in power.
It talks in a language of its own – ‘Newspeak’.
“I think being in the top six if at all possible is a minimum requirement.”
‘The Ministry of Truth’ oversees propaganda and historical revisionism.
” I will allow the people who employ me to assess that as they control whether I am here or not. They know the detailed criteria on which I am judged”
‘The Ministry of Plenty’ oversees shortage and rationing.
“Mostly, they came from Leagues One and Two. It’s not just about today. It’s tomorrow as well”.
People who disagree with the ruling elite become ‘Unpersons’.
And the ultimate punishment is ‘Room 101’ which contains each potential occupant’s worst nightmare.
All ruled over by ‘Big Brother’, the King of ‘Doublethink’.
To most Wolves fans, he IS their worst nightmare.
It sure has felt Orwellian down the years Doog. I do believe I have referenced the year 1984 a few times on this blog.
it was great to see you the other week. i had the hangover from hell the morning after. in fact, i haven’t had a drink since am off the booze, such was my state! Sorry for being so incoherent!
Incoherent you might have been but you made perfect sense to me.
It was great to see you too mate (metaphorical man hug coming up).
I just hope that next year I can get my drinking trousers on and am able to experience the hangover from hell too.
DOOG – fabulous comment and so typical of you though I have to say that you are far too intelligent and intellectual for this blog. For a start you say you’ve read a book. (I read a book once – green it was). And for another thing you use words like dystopian.
Like the Kevin Turvey quote ! Wonder how many ppl remember him and his Uncle Mick
I do remember Kevin Turvey fondly and his fantasy girlfriend Theresa Kelly – however the quote wasn’t actually from KT but an early episode of Porridge when Fletcher and Godber’s cell-mate Heslop (palyed by Brian Glover) says “I read a book once – green it was”. Heslop was allocated a job in the prison library.
Of course it was…must be my age.
I bought a book once, it was needed to level my coffee table.
All other matters aside (because there aren’t too many positives to focus on, by the sound of it), the fact you’ve still got 100wpm shorthand is mightily impressive. Wendy would be proud!
Wendy wouldn’t be proud if she looked at it mate. it bears a closer resemblance to the stray hairs around the bathroom sink than it does conventional ‘outlines’!
i hope you’re well mate!
Just a quick note to say thanks ever so much to all of you for saying such positive things about my minutes, and taking the time to read them.
It did take a wee while to get them all typed up but I am content that they fairly and accurately represented what was said in the meetings.
Going forward, I will make sure that I write a blog well in advance on the FP itself to allow you all to pose some questions to me, which I can then field in the meeting. I know I used to do this, but with work commitments etc I let it slip. I will be more thorough going forward.
I am also in the process of trying to tee up some other blogs for the summer months, which delve into finances and one or two other points. As always, it can just be a challenge due to work commitments and ‘being my own boss.’ You’d think it would free up more time to do what I want but the opposite has never been more true!
As always, writing any blogs are only made worthwhile by the feedback you give and moreover, the appetite to want to read them in the first place, irrespective of feedback.
Up the Wolves!
blogs about finances? do tell.
Will there be places up for grabs at the Parliament soon ? I`d be interested to attend.
I remember Kevin Turvey too , and this day thirteen years ago
Wolves 3
Sheffield utd 0
I was on a plane, at Miami airport, waiting for us to depart the gate, when right before the stewardess told us to turn off our phones, mine rings, and my brother informs me of the final score from Cardiff.
Immediately, and to the consternation of my fellow passengers, both my fists go up, with a mighty YYYEEESSS.
from a few rows behind, in a very American accent, is heard “Come On You Wolves”
I had brainwashed my travelling companion, to this day a converted Wolves fan.
Oh Happy Friggin’ Days!!
Hertford,
In response to your reply on the last thread. In my opinion, the finances of the club are reasonably stable. So they should be with that amount of competent support.
The role of the CEO should therefore be to drive the Organisation forward in operational areas.
Where are we after Sixteen Years?
If I were a Shareholder,I would be asking serious questions.
Ben – just want to say that you are a STAR.
Thanks for all you do on behalf of us all.
A BIG THANKYOU BEN,for taking the time to attended the FP and being a champion for us fans.
As I’ve said before on this blog I think its a pointless exercise because all we get is a load of spin from poxey who’s well versed in spewing bile.
I’m not taking anything away from you for attending and glad you put your questions to the panel.
I just hope like so many wolves fans we get new owners sooner than later and rid us of this cancer that’s blighted our club for years.
Johnok
The thing about cancer is that it CAN be got rid of, see Doogle.
However, I’m beginning to fear what Wolverhampton Wanderers has been infested with is far, far worse.
Really pleased for Doogle God bless him.
But its been 16 years of infection give or take a few years when poxey slithered underneath the doors of
the Mol.
Ben,
Another wonderful and accurate account of what the Official wolves dilute for us, a lot of bloggers have pointed out that you have a way with words as opposed to myself, Clive and a few others on here who get away with words.
Things can only get better because we’d struggle to have it much worse. Poxey is such a master of deciet and avoiding straight answers. When he competed in the Men United walk and I do mean competed because he set off on a pace and tried to outwalk everyone on the walk, he made himself look a complete arse because he went so far ahead he kept taking the wrong turns and had to then watch as we all passed him. He then had to turn around and catch up to overtake everyone again.
But like his time at Wolves he stuck to his task and pigheaded as he is he would give no quarter, he would not converse with others around him and tried to run the show which in fact was already established and running half decent. Sounds oh so familiar of his day job, another thing I spotted that whenever he was forced to stop, unless there was a footballer or chief executive of another club he would stand alone and spoke to no-one. Again oh so familiar.
That’s just a bit of face candy to lighten the mood as we all know and understand the problem at Molinuex and pray that it will change and as a blogger quite rightly said, “he doesn’t want a new owner because his life may change dramatically.
Mouriniho has just signed for United, so LVG is available and was spotted on a tram heading for Molinuex this evening after turning down the job at the shite.
I categorically told you not to release this picture of Mrs Twixo……
What a drag. It looks like Moxey in disguise leaving the Fans Parliament. Heavily disguised. Call me Jezebel.
Can’t wear the same outfit again, Jez.
Brilliant Ben bringing the inside out. Comparing the 2008 world recession to a really great outfit like Money Shop who actually directly rob the poor of Wolverhampton is regrettable.Calling this reprehensible bunch of capitalists a ‘service’ is ill judged at best. Never mind I’m just off to see original 70’s punks 999 at Robin Bilston. If Moxey was there I would gob in his face.
I’ll back up your …Billy NOMATES scenario of Moxey. He has no friends, he rules by fear, he’s aloof….his only allie is his wife .. and words couldn’t describe her DNA. They sit alone ……no-one around them …. It sure makes me sit up and wonder what personality they have …..NONE.
Bloody hell how down can we get. Great minutes and comments on here as usual.
If our CEO reads them then he has to feel shite.
Not much hope coming anytime soon. Tim Spier’s comments about lack of funds put me in a Slough of despond, this confirms it.
How long is it going to be before attendances fall even further? No one has a good thing to say anything positive about those in charge of the club.
I agree with all the views bar one. I do not think Jackett is to blame, if given backing I have belief he could do good things once more for us.
If the club under our long serving CEO is as toxic as it appears I don’t know how he can put up with it.
Still it seems he won’t be here much longer because without a considerable investment in the squad top 6 is more than a 5000-1 chance.
Same odds as Leicester winning the premier league, worth a punt.
Thanks, Ben, for two excellent blogs in the space of a few days concerning the Fans’ Parliament. The time and effort expended on our behalf is much appreciated. Your own insight is most welcome as the official minutes don’t tell us much.
There is such a bad smell around at the moment concerning anything to do with WWFC that I despair of anyone wanting to take the club on. This last season performances have been poor both on and off the field and the Board, particularly our CEO, are as culpable as our Head Coach. I think I read somewhere, possibly here, that Moxey takes home £500,000 in a bad year. This doesn’t sit right with me, particularly as in January Jacket was bemoaning the fact that high wage demands was stopping the club from signing qualty players. Perhaps a significant wage cut by the Board, inc. Moxey, might win back some trust.
Finally, I do feel for KJ who, I believe is an honourable man (given the earlier literary references, that reminds me of Mark Anthony’s “Friends, Romans, Countrymen” speech in Julius Caesar and how he turned ‘an honourable man’ into something that was totally not. Jacket is already being hung up to dry and will be dismissed come the new season as soon as we get a bad run of games. The question is, will he fall on his sword before then?
I was just thinking ..with all this mayhem which is more to do with Club ownership than KJ as he would be gone if a new owner (did) come along,
…if we make it to the playoffs this coming season it will historically become the miracle of all miracles..we have KJs clueless manager tactics to contend with, our best players are still injured..we have a genuine toxic atmosphere around us so strong that It could fell us on its own at any moment..The enevitable realisation that we still have to buy players with no money..The championship has the strongest of teams ever to play against..
Morgan’s got so much to answer for
…particularly in Sir Jacks memory he’s sailed us truely down the river…
and without a paddle..
I can only echo the sentiments of others by expressing my gratitude to you,Ben, for your sterling efforts in sorting and presenting the wheat as opposed to the chaff of the official minutes.
It feels odd though, to offer thanks for something which I find so depressing. Certainly no lifting of spirits without a new owner, although, as I said in an earlier thread, no news of progress on this front doesn’t necessarily mean no progress.
Finally, I find myself agreeing with Allen and Exiled about KJ. I’m sure that if given backing equivalent to that given to other similar clubs in the division, he would have us there or thereabouts. He’s a manager, not a miracle-worker.
I also hold some hope for next season as our injured soldiers re-enter the fray. That’s provided, of course, that dear Mr Moxey keeps his greedy mitts off our young rising stars.
I will echo them too Ben. Thanks for your efforts.
On Wolves news, now the Express & Lie are saying Wolves fans are offering Morgan an olive branch and a way back. Hmmmm
If you take a straw poll on this blog I think it would fairly well reflect Wolves fans opinion on Mr Morgan.
He needs to wake up, take his meds and get a life. The Sky television appearance money is listed in the link below. Wake up Morgan you tit, look at what you and Poxey are missing by underinvestment.
Tit.
Even if we just increase our gate by 10000 a year we would attract the kind of TV payments that would make even Poxey smile.
http://www.wolves.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=448070
Note to all..if he comes up with £50M it’s better the devil you know…if we got to the Prem he’d be forgiven in a nano second…
Paul Ince has just been welcomed onto Wolves Official page on twitter.
Just saying…..
The rumour i told you about from the club a few weeks back was, he and Ian Rush who are mates of Morgan were helping him sort out a buyer and new manager.
We have to dream boys and girls, we have to dream. (and clutch at straws apparently)
…and a new CEO?
We can dream but for starters a buyer and new manager will do nicely.
It had to happen, it was a matter of when not if.
No way, boyo.
Love it.
Hey wolfstroker, my opinion on kj is also that he is a decent manager, but to a very limited level , eg league 3 Let’s be honest he would have walked to molineux for the best job he will ever have , the problem for me is that moxey would never get another job as good as his current one and he wants a kj to bully , in fact if he removed kj and was to replace him , then he would just pick another mr beige to bully, just like the pathetic board he bullies, no , , for me it’s a big feck off to the whole upper management for me before they drag this iconic brand down to their level , and while I’m on my box Feck the playoffs, that’s just a marketing spin for two more games , what’s wrong with top two!!! Back in the day we used to expect to be champions!!! Not with this bunch of cretins!! Just my opinion that’s all !
Fair play Marnie if we had more dosh and a decent manager lets do a Leicester and win it..
I agree, Marney.
What’s the point of even turning up if you are not trying to win……every game.
To put out a side “to not lose” is the tactics of a cowardly lion, or hamster.
Better the approach Mattress Busby always had, “it don’t matter how many the opposition score, as long as we score more”, and his teams were always set up to attack, attack, attack.
Imagine the ’74 League Cup winning side today, we would walk this league, and then the Prem……………………….and to be honest, even those players today, in their 60’s and 70’s, would still be better than the crap we have on the books now!!
And Bill McGarry would never have put up with your shit for one minute, greasel!
He would have smacked you in the gob as he walked by, with no more thought than squashing an irritating bug.
FOjm
Agree Marney..
If a new owner comes in with 30 million… Jackett is finished anyway..
Simply not good enough cant get the best out of what he has… Clueless..
Just like the board..
The fact that some people say we have bigger problems than our sponsor…
Exactly.. The morons who made the decision to sign such a deal in the first place…
All need to go for anything to improve as bad if not worst than the Bhattis
That’s right Clive , I was s tad too young to make 74 but was at 79 final and even though we were underdogs, I can assure you nobody on our train carriage special from Wolves to Wembley expected us to do anything but win !! The issue I have with the playoffs is that even if we are mid table around Xmass , people can still spin a marketing speal for any mediocre mid table team that we can still make the play offs !!!! I bet Newcastle won’t be saying we can make the playoffs!!!!
Sources on News now say Pearson has signed on as Derby manager today.
I like him, what a shame what a pity.
If true, Villa, Newcastle and Derby are nailed-on favourites for promotion.
He is a good manager but he seems to have ‘personality’ problems. I for one would not want him as a manager.
DWW,
I reckon Villa are going to do a Wolves from three years ago and drop straight into the Third division
Hull v Sheff Wednesday – winner to be promoted and get a guaranteed £180m. Makes you think eh? Morgan? No? Moxey? No? Too dim, too selfish, too money grabbing, too slimey, too small minded, too arrogant. Spend £20m wisely to revamp the squad and look what you can do!
P.S. good luck to my ‘local’ team Millwall – get promoted then finish above us eh Kenny? – and to the real Dons, Wimbledon who deserve to go up (and then smash the horrible little plastic club MK Franchise).
P.P.S. Clive – story in the E&S about Wolves taking legal action against a brewery for nicking the wokf’s head logo! Get your lawyers ready mate, they’ll be coming for you next!
Best sort out my T Shirt design then !!!
Glad Thomas advised me of the way forward when I put the Bloggers Polo Shirts in.
So we are all fairly happy then..or at least KJ is..the charmed confused limp lettuce leaf…
I wonder how the crocks are fairing?
particularly Graham…..Williamson Dicko…..
Bedford
My reply to anyone taking legal action against me would be “bring it on”
They would have to prove a world wide copyright, sue me in a U.S. Court, and that would mean greasel coming to America and having to meet me face to face…….
Who knows what might happen then!!
All I have to do is cease trading as Clive The Fenceman and he aint got nothing to sue.
Fuck him
Perhaps you could supply his fences at his new place in The Hamptons – you could get him to hold the post while you raise your sledgehammer…………………
No, Bedders, I dont build fences, just talk the talk.
Its too hot and humid in Houston to do manaul labour, thats why dog invented Mexicans!
You lazy f**I!
Moxey is a liar
Morgan is just dire
La-la-la
Is that what they call Manuel labour?
Well done to Hull city for reaching the prem,it really makes us look so shite.
Moron poxey Hackett Are you watching.
Well said. Pleased that Wednesday didn’t go up as can’t stand that diving little cheat Forestieri. Estimated to be worth between £160m and £180m to Hull just to get there. As you say – are you watching Morgan/Moxey? An outlay of £20m spent wisely plus a couple of good free transfers (Arteta/Rosicky) would transform our squad and make automatic promotion a real possibility. Could they? Yes, £20m is nothing to Morgan. Will they? Obviously not. Too dim, too small minded.
Yeah Bedford wolf,so sickening I fear it may be a long time before we see the likes again, especially with the smallminded quartet we have down the Mol dragging us down into the abyss.
Things won’t change until Morgan and moxey are gone, both are too interested in lining their own pockets to think about the fans or football.
Kenny I have sympathy for, whenever he’s been given a decent war chest he’s found some diamonds – McDonald, Dicko, afobe. Even his bargain buys turn out ok more often than not saville, golbourne, graham.
It’s clear from the first two seasons he’s been in charge he had a style of play he wanted to bring in but the forced changes in personnel (injuries and penny pinching) have hamstrung his team.
I expect it will get worse before it gets better. KJ will probably be forced to sell the few remaining crown jewels with no money to come for additions. We’ll be struggling at Xmas he’ll get sacked and one of Morgan’s mates like Saunders will be brought in and given the loan market to save us (if we’re lucky).
Like I said the only hope we have is new owners asap and rid us of them all.
I not convinced Hackett is the man to lead us to the prem.IMO….
I’m with you on pretty much all of that Sheffield. He hasn’t gone from being a good manager to a crap one overnight. The rug’s been pulled from under him by injuries and the 2M’s incredibly short-sighted transfer policy.
Jackett will never be sacked by those two tossers, they would have to pay up his contract.
They will wait until his contract expires ( now theres a word I like to use with regard to greasel)
And then boot him unceremoniously out the door.
I might be wrong, but isn’t he on a 12 month rolling contract?
I suspect KJ has to be in or around top 6 by October in order to survive. With some of the injured players returning he has a chance (and if KMac is reinstated). Assuming there is not a new owner by then I do wonder what quality managers would want to come here? Moyes has allegedly turned down Villa and they have a new owner with money to spend so who the hell is going to come to Molineux?
On a separate note, can someone explain the role of Thelwell? How much communication is there between him and the manager and what is his remit? The Mason scenario doesn’t feel joined up in any way ,shape or form. The recruitment of players is absolutely critical for us especially this summer and i don’t have a lot of confidence in this guy.
I also expect Iorfa to be picked off before the new season starts so we should be planning for that now.
Head of recruitment(Thelwell) job is intended to be long term. As at other clubs like Southampton, man city, etc. Find players, coach, other staff to suit the playing style/ethos of the club.
As such it seems to be THE most important of jobs. Players, managers, coaches, will come and go but the head of recruitment stays. Possibly to ensure continuity. A considerable amount is invested in players that is otherwise lost when a new manager is appointed.
I wish I could think of something witty to finish on. But I’m a bit cheesed off.
love this blog tho.
Congratulations Dominic Iorfa and Kortney Hause who both played the whole game as England U21’s beat France 2-1 in the final of the Toulon tournament – the first time England have won at this level since 1994. Mind you the fat liar Toxic Moxey will no doubt sell them both now.
Great win,but so surly your right poxey will sell them like any other player who’s done well.if it will help fill the coffers of moron no player will be spared. And no money for rebuilding.
Unless we have new owners in soon that will be the fate of our up and coming young players.
Now that all 24 teams for next season are known I have estimated the following;
Same owner, CEO, manager etc – we will finish somewhere between 13th at best and 17th at worst. Average attendance about 17,000.
New owner, CEO, manager etc and proper investment in the squad and wages – we would finish 1st at best and 4th at worst. Average attendance about 25,000.
The increased home gates alone would bring in £4.6m plus increased sales of food and drinks and merchandise meaning around £7m extra revenue. Then of course getting promoted brings in between £163m and £180m a season. Then gates would be more like 30,000 plus more food and drink and merchandise etc. How Steve Moron and Toxic Moxey cannot see or understand that or that by spending around £20m to improve the squad we could effectively multiple that investment almost ten times over is beyond me.
You am right, Bedders, and in one year, not some long drawn out, multi year, investment.
Guaranteed.
We know they are purely money driven, so what they are doing defies all logic.
Unfuckinbelievable!
And question of the day over here is:
Is Lewis Hamiltons new girlfriend Justin Beiber?
Answers on a postcard to……
Oops, sorry, forgot.
Someone lost the postcard!!
Fojm
Too true Bedford you know it makes sense..as they say..
It’s this blind ‘it will be alright’ attitude which is so perilous..
I really thought Ince and co could be leading a new charge presumably with financial interim backing then..
It could of been the £170M would of changed Morgan’s mind..but no KJ is still there to torture us..
Why have we got to endure a ‘here’s hope’ scenario and not have ‘do’ers
running the club..
http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2016/05/30/triple-pre-season-boost-for-wolves/
Not sure about EEL though…
Hey moxey , it’s morgan here, I just read in e and s that we have 3 previously injured players going to be ready for next season ! So if we get that 16 year old from dagenham, that’s 4 so we don’t need to spend any money at all this year do we !
Dan Crowley, 18 year old Arsenal midfielder available for season long loan next season. Jackett/Moxey get him in. He is class. Played behind the striker he would be sensational in the Championship.
Congratulations to Wimbledon, the real Dons. So hope they smash that horrible little plastic club MK Franchise and the thug Antony Kay next season.
I believe Anthony Kay has been released by MK. There’s no justice. He should have got life.
The Bad news is….
Iorfa Palace for £11 million
The good news…..
We get to keep Hause until January then he moves on.
That’s from a few sources on the tinternetski yesterday.
KJ will probably steal a £200,000 wunderkind from the lower leagues.
Oh dear what a scenario.
And then Pardew will keep him the bench, chatting with Sako, while Wayne ” I dont wanna play tonight fuckin’ Hennessey” gets paid stoopid money to watch deflections whizz past him at Wemberlee!
Bring on the Euros, and we get to moan and bitch about something else!!!
Fojm
What’s bothering me mate is the fact that the folk on the blog have had the Poxey spin and everone is resolved to the fact, some even saying a real bargain and hold out for more.
Ben,
As said by many before me, thank you for your commitment, your succinct review of the evening’s ‘discussions’ and for telling it exactly as it is.
I am interested in next season, very interested. Speculation is natural, but until that very first ball is kicked, none of us really know what we are going to be given in terms of ability, desire, want, commitment ……
I do predict that we will make the play offs though!
Stu
I simply can’t believe that Moxey would allow Iorfa and Hause to go..
They are part of the ‘we won’t concede’ strategy to get us up to the PL and the £180M..
What’s more they are family silver..
Moxey just isn’t that daft to allow putting the knife into us and twisting it..
It could be argued that Sako wanted to leave and Afobe too but these 2 defenders are home grown…
I put it to anyone if Morgan gets upset in a car park and bails out over financial criticism then to do this with players so flagrantly he’s seen nothing yet in terms of fan anger..
If like to remind him that he is still accountable to the fans and shareholders in the name of
Sir Jack while he still is in charge ….
to callously and Deliberately dump player assets without thought for the club is the worst form of ownership and I put it that he will be despised with a quantum effect..
Not sure if they both are brave enough..Moxey would be particularly restless Imo …
Ben excellent report & I don’t hold any hopes until a new owner is found. Fair play for sitting & holding your temper, I’m not sure I could!
Stu apologies for not getting back to you as yet re cartoon, work has been manic plus also building a fairly large conservatory at the same time. Will drop you a mail later today & we’ll sort something out.
Up the Wolves.
Border Wolf,
Thank you for the message, there is absolutely no rush, we had a conservatory 18 months ago and we’re still finding dust and stuff to do or buy. In your own time, Iv’e waited 64 years, another few weeks/months won’t matter.
StuWolf
So looks iorfa’s on his way probably 11 million and jackett will see a tenth of it at most.
In the last twelve to 18 months we’ve lost the following players:
Sako – his choice but also we wouldn’t match his contract demands – free
Afobe – stayed on the promise that we would build team around him and improve. Only we sold anyone we could at start of season – £9 million
Stearman – sold in a rush for footballing reasons (bollocks moxey just wanted his wage off books) – £2 million
Jacobs – sold possibly on jackets recommendation but probably also to lower wage bill – undisclosed
Golbourne – sold again maybe jackets choice but doubt he would let his left back cover leave with no replacement. – undisclosed
Macdonald – fairly clear that he was dropped as a result of his contract including a clause for more money based on appearances. Looks to be on his way to Rangers – £1-2 million
We are a selling club. Jacketts hands are tied by the men above him. I wouldn’t mind if jackett was given the bulk of the proceeds from these transfers but based on estimates we’ve spent about £3.5 million max in the same period.
Agree with most of that Sheffield, but with Sako, I would say that any Championship club trying to match the wages paid in the PL is heading for the financial rocks. And we could have got a decent transfer fee only 12months previous but refused.
Can’t see Iorfa’s ready for the prem yet ,maybe next year.
Then again we’ve got the poxey moron factor.££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££.self greed and fk us fans we don’t count he’s proved that.
I’d like to add my belated congratulations to Dominic Iorfa and Kortney Hause for adding a few million quid to their transfer value.
Good news for all portly red faced people whose surnames start with ‘M’.
Also to Dave Edwards for making the Welsh squad.
Well done mate – but I hope we stuff you.
I see Moxey is trying to sell more season tickets.
http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2016/06/01/wolves-linked-with-anderlecht-striker-idrissa-sylla/
More smoke and mirrors till the start of the season.
Congratulations to Dangerous Dave, good luck except against England.
All you bloggers that wanted to join the Fans Parliament, here is the link you need, invent some group as you will only get two persons from each group maximipum I believe.
Clive,
They don’t pay travelling expenses so No, just No.
http://mobile.wolves.co.uk/news/article/fans-parliament-recruitment-3132793.aspx
I’m on the case Stuey……
StuWolf – if I joined the Fans Parliament can I put down your spare bedroom as my ‘2nd home’ and thereby claim expenses like them other parliamentarians do?
How the Funk did you know Iv’e got a spare bedroom? That’s what she was on about when she said, “she had something small for her birthday”. She said, “she was unsure about the 23rd, should she be in or out!”
Doog’s putting up for it anyway, he’s got the duck pond with a duck house on the island, can claim more for Duck house than a spare room. Do a deal with him.
StuWolf – but you are always going on about a bit of spare. As for DOOG well, wait for it, wait for it, he must be quackers.
Just woken up to the news that, in my opinion (and his), the greatest sportsmen of them all has died.
A sad loss but probably a relief to the man himself.
Of all sporting ironies, this was possibly the worst.
Old age gets us all in the end but for one so athletic, articulate and beautiful to be hit with Parkinsons so early in life is just plain wrong.
R.I.P. Muhammad Ali.
Yeah, a brilliant ambassador to his sport. RIP Cassius.
Like Doog I wish to add my thanks to the greatest Boxer and Athelete the World has known.
I love my football team I have followed football all my life since the age of 8 years old. Wolves have been my team Wagstaffe, Dougan and Bull were all heroes of mine.
The greatest sportsman of all my childhood and Adult heroes was Muhammad Ali, he had a talent and a skill unsurpassed by the latest crop of showmen, he invented the showmanship and entertainment that the try to emulate in the ring.
You made my life a better place, I was fortunate to meet David Haye and Klishko but although both great boxers, I wish I could have shook the hand of Muhammad Ali, “The Greatest”
RIP Ali.
Echo Doog and Stu just got to thinking those were special times when fame often didnt come without creative originality and a touch of genius. Ali, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Woodstock, George Best, Dougan, Walking on the Moon instead of just moonwalking. Those were the days my friend…
Not to labour the point but a fitting tribute to a great Human Being.
I well remember the tabloid headline when he beat Sonny Liston by a first round knockout. The headline said,
“The feat of Clay” That was obviously a play on the words feat/feet
(For you younger readers, Mohammad Ali was originally named Cassius Clay).
Mind you, some people did think he had feet of clay as they believed Sonny Liston was unbeatable, and therefore the result was fixed by the mob, and Liston took a dive. Liston was known to be in the debt of the Mafia.
Our ‘Enry had him beat fair and square, and Dundee cut his glove.
I have often wondered what course Ali’s career would have taken if he had lost that particular fight.
Having said that, he was the only boxer that I would have paid to see, as I dont really consider boxing a sport, bit like darts, billiards and going to the poorthorns!!
Fowb
This don’t sound promising, this is what happened when Afobe was leaving, his parents had told us his future Months before he went.
Oh dear, we better get used to live in the slow lane.

hal Robson Kanu a free agent after leaving Reading. I always quite rated the guy. Out of our league????

Or being released by Newcastle, in the Williamson mould..
Steven Taylor even
Oh dear!
Those poor misunderstood muslims!!
We must all stop wearing fancy dress now, in case it offends them.
Then I suppose all non islamic females must start wearing those black tent things with eye slits, and all men should start beating up and raping womwn, as well as submitting to sharia law.
If we dont, it might offend the muslims.
The fact that their entire exstence, with their fun pastimes of murder, beheadings and blowing up anyone who doesnt submit to their barbarism offends us, is obviously not relevant to them.
There are things in life that offend everyone at some time or another.
Get over it.
Wearing fancy dress to a game is no different than dressing up for halloween.
And if it still offends, then fuck off to a muslim middle eastern shithole where there is plenty of sand and undeveloped areas to practise your wonderfully tolerant lifestyle.
Well said Clive me boy. Succinct and to the point. Mind you I used to love Sha’ria law. Oh no hang on I’m wrong. It was Sharon Law. About 1974, I was 17 and as h***y as hell and she was 16 and as fit as f**I.
Would look dead funny if I wore a crusader costume and place a red dot of lipstick on the centre of my forehead. Would I get away with it, looking like a Muslim Crusader?
Of course you wouldn’t, every one would know you cheated somehow!!
Crystal Palace are among a list of clubs after Hause and Iorfa but Dominic Iorfa would rather play for West Ham, not Crystal Palace, Arsenal or Everton.
That’s a shame because Palace are starting a decent collection of ex Wolves players.
Ideally we could sell them Dicko, Graham and a couple of others as well and then we can all move in next door to London Wolves Loyal and support Pardew’s team.
Premier League without the bother of getting promoted.
Same could apply to Burnley.
DOOG, might as well suggest a merger to Palace then. Re-name it Golden Palace?
I wonder if Clive from Houston has picked up on any Stateside reports involving PL footballers and a PL manager. I hear that one player boasted about having five women on the go. Or six, if you count the wife, presumably. I wonder how these guys can perform on the pitch as well… Can’t say any more due to injunctions covering England & Wales.
……Bugger off !!!!,,,
Hello all you lovely green fingered bloggers ….I’ve done a number of hanging baskets this year …to overcome some of the boredom of no footie….so if anyone is interested give me a call ….07794293257.
They’ll cost you £30 to £35 in a garden centre but you can snap a bargain for £20…. Sorry but car booters don’t bother ringing.
Sorry forgot the picture ….
Twix
Are they ones you did in New Zealand.
I know …buggar knows how that happened…xx
They are okay when you click on them they are right side up mate. Flowers are shit though.
Send me half a dozen, Twixo, you will cover the shipping costs, wont you, and a warranty in case they get buggered during transit??
They’d look nice on your Mexican built fencing ….!!
Mark Wrights going cheap…
2016/17 fixtures leaked. Oh dear is nothing sacred
https://www.docdroid.net/yUt3IuL/championship-fixture-list-2016-17.pdf.html
Bet you can’t get the Premiership ones before release date lol
FA announced that these are in fact an elaborate hoax, (they are now pressing a green button in some office generating a new set)
How much for just one flower ?
And will it come back every year ?
Cheapo London ….. sounds like a phrase from Moxey’s recruitment and buying policy..
How dare you make that comparison !
Besides … I only want one flower for’ gardening ‘ reasons .
I have young flowers coming through . I don’t need surplus flowers taking up pot space .
If the price is right then I could be interested in one flower for the future that could improve the garden
London – best comment I’ve read for ages. Made me laugh out loud. I instantly hereby promote you from Head of Security (doorman) to Head of Horticultural Development (gardener). Only downside is that Mrs Moxey is taking the part of Lady Chatterley so strap yourself down pal its gonna be one helluva bumpy ride.
All we are saying
Is give us a new topic,
(There’s a limit to how many times I can scroll down all these comments which, naturally enough by now, have long since departed from anything even remotely to do with Ben’s minutes. I mean even Twixo is now flogging the results of his handiwork at his local Darby & Joan Club).
How did you know Darbie and Joan had bought one ?
No you misunderstand you cheeky chappie you – I meant the results of your handiwork whilst YOU were at your local D&J club. I was actually trying to be kind – I am a nice person after all – as I was going to say your handiwork from the craft classes you attended whilst in rehab.
I didn’t take it personally Bedford ….
I think I’ve got schizophrenia ….. part of me says I have and the other part says I haven’t ….
Nurse ….please don’t make me do any more hanging baskets.
(Do you think MOXEY might go for one?)
Schizophrenia? Next you’ll be telling me there are two of you! Left Twixfix and Right Twixfix.
Moxey? Now if you could make a basket we could hang him from you might be in business. Make sure its a bloody big one though – and sturdy enough to carry his not inconsiderable bulk.
How about a joke thread. I will start (I hear groans!)
This bloke picked up this Chinese bird and after a good night out they went back to his place and had sex every hour on the hour. Amazing as it was, about 3 am he woke up an hour after his last shag and nudged her and said “fancy a 69” She replied “I no cook this time of morning”
Next ……
Your bloke also picked up a Thai bird. She couldn’t stop playing with his willy. So the bloke says, I see you like my willy. The Thai bird says, no, I just miss mine…
Moxey and hanging in the same sentence.
I like it!!
Now we’re talking, can I have his priapism for Jen De Wolf. (Thinking about it, that’s a fair swop)
And also twixfix , do you have anything that may blossom into a pie tree ?
The piemus glutimus plant is recommended …it comes in various colours with hints of balti and meat and potato…… The plant sits proudly on a crusty base …..just like Moxey’s ar@e….
This is what life’s all about – sitting here with a violent thunder storm and torrential rain outside whilst talking absolute billhooks about the delights of Twixfix’s home made hanging baskets with like minded Wolves supporting friends both here and in the good old US of A. It doesn’t get any better than this. P.s. I am easily pleased – but that’s another story.
In the old days I would have been asking for some ‘Tim flowers ‘
Or maybe a ‘ Steve Dalia ‘
Are you a flipping mind reader?
Twixfix’s All Time Wolves XI
(451)
Tim Flowers in goal
Kevin Foliage right back
Bob (witch) Hazell centre back
Ron Flowers centre back
Mark Venus’s car left back ( look it up, it IS a flower)
Steve Dahlia right wing
Willie Carnation centre midfield
Kenny Hibiscus centre midfield
Colin Chamomile centre midfield
Tommy Rowe’s left wing
Norman (blue) Bell striker
Subs: Eddie C(l)campanula & not forgetting orchid (our kid).
The Venus flytrap Bedford …. a bit like the zip on your trousers.
Norman Bell – now there’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time.
Yes Bedford ! Kevin foliage ! Brilliant .
That’s enough flowers to Phil Parkes !!
Would you not prefer Steve bull rushes up front ?
Also would Georgies Berry s count ? Or Peters Broadbeans ?
What have I started! Sincerest and heartfelt apologies to all Wolves bloggers – no more flower references.
On a separate note I hear a rumour that Jackett might be sacked soon and replaced by the ex Watford manager Quique Florist.
Sorry!
When I read the first sentence .. I thought at last something is happening ….what an April fool am I…!
Andy Mulch has to be in……………….
Who knows perhaps we may get another topic to adulterate.
Ben.
Drifting from Fans Parliament to Gardener’s World, at 178 comments and counting, this must be a world record for a Wolves blog. Any word of a new topic coming up? Like silly-season transfer rumours or P45 for Jackett?
Roses are red
Violets are blue

I spy with my little eye, something beginning with… MLP.
I realise that this game probably won’t work unless you’re sat in my back garden with me – and I can’t see anyone else there at the moment, but it might help pass the time away until another subject comes up.

It’s full of water, fish, frogs and newts.
My Little Pony!!!
Marla’s Lost Panties!
Moxey’s Last Pie!
Mark’s Lovely Partner!
I dread to think of some of the other offerings that are about to issue forth from our bored fellow bloggers.
What I want to know is, were Marla’s panties full of wildlife before, or after, they were lost?
Maria’s lost panties? I hope your cucumber wasn’t involved.
Look what you’ve started DOOGooder….
Moxey’s latest promise….. xx

Am I close? (not in a literal sense of course as I don’t even know where you live).

Wolves have just signed goalkeeper Andy Lonergan, from Fulham on contract. On the garden theme I should imagine….. His cousin Lonnie Donergan’s dustbin were full of wildlife, toadstools to be precise. We knew
read this blog.
I think the new thread may involve “Chines whispers”
Chines? You cant trust them Chines you know. Far too inscrutabl ………………………
Mind you Blackgang Chine on the Isle of Wight is pretty nice so maybe there is some good in these Chines.
That’s a major problem in this Life. There’s just not enough e’s in the World.
Have a word with micheal branch for both gardening reasons and also I think he could get you some Es
In the continuing absence of football or a new topic to discuss and as Twixfix’s hanging baskets are now just so passe here are a couple of crossword clues that stumped me for a while. Any suggestions?
1. To egg on (5 letters)
2. Constipation (14 letters)
A prize for the first correct answers.
P.S. TwixFix fancy donating a banging hasket?
1. Toast
2. sandwell town f.c.
No, sorry, that’s wrong. They are the shits, opposite of constipation.
Congratulations on getting the first one. Wish I could remember which 70’s comedy show it was from. The Two Ronnies? Benny Hill?
You’ve so far won half of one of the Twix man’s hanging baskets. Or a hang bas if you will.
Man U just spent more on a young centre back than we have spent in the last 5 years. Mind you they have huge debts and we don’t so up yours Mourinho we are better than you lot! Makes you think eh?
Southampton have, it seems, successfully installed 3 managers with little if any disruption to playing style. I wonder of this will continue now koeman has gone. Is this because they have a head of recruitment who knows what he is doing? New blog topic?
Its always great to be…….
The 200 th blog on a blog post
Not just the 200th but the 1st too! Some achievement buddy. Being the first and the last is…….oh hang on, I’ve just ruined that haven’t I. Sorry.
P.S. constipation 14 letters – Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Forget 200th. That’s for beginners. I’m biding my time as I want to the one thousandist person to blog on this thread. Oh well, 799 to go.
Seven hundred and ninety eight
Several Nuns dead and Ninety Seven.
Gordon Highlanders…..
And now for something completely different.
The Euros start today.
I for one am quite looking forward to watching England hopefully do well.
Any Houston based Wolves fans can meet up with Houston Lobo and me at The Richmond Arms, for a pie and a pint, before the match tomorrow.
Knowing my luck the place will be full of shit and Villa fans, hoping to see actual football for once!

That’s StuWolf off to Cumbria for my latest tick on the bucket list. Tomorrow I set off to do my Coast to Coast ride for Redstar U 8’s football team from Aldridge. They have raised almost £1000 to date and so that will enable the kids to get track suits and tops for the winter and goal nets for their team.
I’m with my Nephew who’s riding for Crohn’s disease and we’re cycling from the sea front at Whitehaven in Cumbria to Tynemouth sea front outside Newcastle over two days.
I’m hoping when I get back we’ve sold the club to some group and by the look of the quality of players we are now being linked with something is afoot.
Something to dream about as I peddle my way across Britain.
Happy Days.
FOkj, Poxey and Moron
All we are saying
Is give us a new topic………………..
I think we are all going a little stir crazy – Clive seems to think England will do well at the Euros (those Yanks never did know anything about football did they), Brompton is dredging up dreadful jokes and posting pictures of some regimental crest, StuWolf is off on his bike (again), the DOOGooder is playing imaginary eye-spy and Twixfix is whiling away his time making hanging baskets, imaginary or otherwise ….me, I’m as sane as the next man! I am aren’t I Napoleon? What? You want me to call you Emperor?
Emporer Bedford …it’s got a ring to it ….
Emperor penguin more like.
I see Fletch has been released by Sunderland.
Moxey included a sell-on clause in his contract …thinking I’ll make a few bucks on that …..my arse ..!!
Who’s feeling better about the new season.?. Villa fans after being traumatised by the drop and then being financially rescued…
Or Wolves fans thinking we have to go again with what we’ve got ffs…
It ain’t even close…three cheers for Moxey and Co………..
Hip hip hooray…. Hip hip hooray …. Hip hip hooray …. Now F off you smarmy fat f@&ker …. Clive quote …..
All I’ve read in the E and S is pure bullshit and paper talk to sell …well papers ….
Might be deluding myself but there seem to be a lot of rumours circulating suggesting that a takeover might be imminent. Although reports vary as to who and when the consensus seems to be that something is definitely happening and within a month from now an announcement will be made. God I do hope so.
Imagine that? New owners. Owners with ambition, with interest, with money. Owners who care and who are prepared to invest. Imagine it. A revamped squad, Molineux filled to the rafters, a feel good factor sweeping around the place. We could once more dream and hope of better times. Of promotion, of restored pride. Not only that but new people in charge – no more Morgan, no more Moxey, no more Thelwell and, ideally and almost inevitably, no more Jackett.
Imagine it! Then it’d be ‘no’ we are NOT selling our best young players, we truly are building a team around them. No more bargain basement shopping in the reduced aisle at Poundland, no more ‘ones for the future’ but instead ones for the here and now to push for promotion. We could shop at Waitrose instead – £7m for a striker? Certainly. £4m for a left back? Sure. £5m for a winger? Of course! We could also take some quality and experience as we’d be paying proper wages – Arteta? Rosicky? Piennar? Osman? Just 4 quality and experienced players available on a free right now.
Come on, let’s dare to dream! Hell, we might just be about to get our beloved club back.
P.S. Good luck England in Marseille tonight – do us proud lads and stuff those Ruskies who may bought the 2018 World Cup with their ill-gotten roubles but they won’t beat us.
Chaucer are being fronted by Bob Hasslett ex chairman from Margate, (red hot Wolves fan all his life,) he’s fronting it for the Aisian consortium, they all spent the weekend at Morons house last weeekend and are now in London. Talk is they want to get transfers out of the way before finalising, (obviously talk of a buyer would push the asking prices up).
We were told not to say nowt but it’s all over Wolves rumours, Mol Mix and our reliable sources have been telling us. The fact that Bully is talkng about the players we are in for tells me they are kosher enquiries.
So yes.. Dare to dream, dare to dream.
Well Albania v Swiss was pretty friggin’ boring, reminded me of Leeds v anyone in the Seventies
Lets hope Dangerous Dave and monkeyboy Bale do the bizzo over whoever they are playing against ( cant be arsed to look it up ) and Jamie Vardy goes ballistic in the right way and we kick seven shades of snot out of them pesky Rooskies!!
It was better when it was USSR, then we didnt have so many ‘Stan countries!!
FO wb
Dangerous Dave to get an hat trick.
By my count, after 44 mins, Edwards has only touched the ball three times.
Dont see how he can get a hat trick like that.
Off to the pub now
Come On England!!!
Iv’e just arrived at Haydon Bridge in Cumbria did 57.5 miles on my Coast to Coast and as soon as I hooked up to internet I found out our Moron has been awarded the CBE from her Mage. A massive hearty congratulations to him, he’s kissed enough arse to get it, I will start a campaign to speak with the high Sheriff of Wolverhampton to see if we can get him knighted,
Clive can come across and dub him with the sword,
Oops he slipped.
Never mind he can have it posthumously.
England did their usual thing last night then – filled us with hope and then dashed the sweet cup of victory from our lips at the last moment.
However, I watched the rugby match against Australia yesterday morning and… Wow!!!!!!
What a performance!
Every man gave everything for eighty minutes.
More please lads.
God, I love this one, what a headline.
Pikey’s rule ok.
Travellers have set up camp on molineux car park. estimated figure of between 10-15 caravans.
(Apparently Freddy Eastwood is fronting a Pikey consortium to buy the car parks off Moron)
Tee hee hee
Poster number 222, at your service. Can we have the list in reverse order now, the scrolling wheel in my mouse is getting worn down!
There are a lot of takeover rumours around, Stu and Bedford are on the case. But, we’ve been here before, especially in December when E&S gave credence to the Ding Lei story. It’s easy for rumours to grow legs with each re-telling. I hope we’ve not just grasping at straws. It’s easy to say we’re boxing clever in the transfer market by pretending it’s the same stingy old Wolves, and then we announce a takeover AFTER we’ve paid Poundland prices for Harrods quality players! I think we have to prepare for the worst (Morgan still owner) and hope for the best. Then we can only be pleasantly surprised.
Agreed DWW. I’m believing nothing until it’s signed, sealed and delivered. That includes takeovers, transfers….the whole shooting match.
Due to the huge success of ‘I Spy’, my previous attempt at passing the time until the next blog, here’s another little teaser for you all.
‘Spot the brain cell’.
Study the attached picture and see if you can find one.
I’ve looked long and hard but I’m buggered if I can spot any evidence of sentient life.
You could have included Moxey and still couldn’t find a brain cell.
Beats me how you can get drunk on Heineken.
What is going to happen on Thursday, those twats going to pick on fellow Brits?
Probably.
Watching the Eyties against the Flems
How come the Italians can run so fast forward??
Seems like Belgium’s ‘golden generation’ are about as successful as England’s was.
My favourite Italian fact – in WW2 the Italian navy killed more Italians by virtue of so-called ‘friendly fire’ than enemy personnel.
Interesting and topical fact – Ciaran Clark of Villa and Republic of Ireland, who scored the own goal against Sweden, was spotted by a Villa scout whilst playing for the Under 14 team I was managing at the time at Mowsbury Park about a five minute walk from my house. The scout had come to watch my son Stevie but preferred Ciaran and the rest, as they say, is history.
Now all this football business is done and dusted, shall we turn our attention to ‘Der Elefant in la Chambre’.
In or out?
I want out – what say you?
I have already voted to remain. I don’t want Boris Johnson and his fellow right wing brothers to dismantle the NHS cripple our public services, take away our employment rights, our human rights, our commitment to sorting out global environmental issues. The sad loss of a Labour MP only goes to show the extreme mania surrounding migration based on groundless fear stories about Turks and all the rest of it. Shame on Farage and his Nazi style imagery on todays poster from vote leave. what a shit country we have become.
Superb. Well said young man.
Cheeseburger – I couldn’t disagree with you more and just about everything you said is the exact polar opposite of what I think to be true. I don’t see voting to leave as a far right/Nazi thing in the slightest just as I don’t see wanting to stay in as a far left Marxist plot. Did you see the shameful and blatantly racist ‘remain’ poster with the kindly Asian lady sitting on a see-saw with a skinhead on the other end? But hey we both support the greatest team in the world, we both have our health (well sort of at my age!) and both enjoy life to the full so its not all bad and just goes to show that football unites us all in a common goal.
Afternoon Bedford. Firstly I fully respect your view on the EU. When I posted my view of it I expected to have it challenged and you have done that. Secondly, I know that the bloggers on here are rationale people and we sometimes fall out ,but never in a nasty way. I reached my decision to remain by looking at the track records of the politicians involved. Most of the ‘leave’ campaigners are either on the right of the Tory party or UKIP. I admit a small minority are on the ‘left’. Given the background as a whole, those on the right tend to believe in cutting ‘red tape’ or in my view employment rights/health and safety protection for ordinary workers. Those on the right believe in a small state, instead of state provision, private provision hence my opinion that the NHS is very much at risk should Brexit occur and the Tory right assumes control. Those on the right believe in a low tax (some a no tax) economy which is another reason why public services and the welfare state are at risk. I therefore took the view that it is safer to remain than Brexit. People will base their vote on all sorts of different reasons and this is what democracy is all about. Incidentally I do not believe all Brexit voters are Nazi’s. I was just using the latest leave poster as an example which in my opinion was distasteful. Hey Bedford, we DO support the greatest team in the world and I wish you all the best.
England our England, why the heck are we paying for the rest of the dross to syphon our money away into their luxury homes and
dodgy dealings. If you have a week or two to spare, I can back all this up as I spent 12 years in Eastern Europe donating £8.5 million in humanitarian aid and the Countries I went into are in some instances very much worse off than when they came into the EU. All those crooks, beggars and thieves drip fed with our money, the levels of corruption is staggering.
IM OUT!
Name and address witheld to protect the hard of hearing.
I am with you Stu, the sooner we are out of the totally corrupt mess that is the Eu the better.
Saw one of the best out banners ever driving up the Cound Straight towards Shrewsbury today. There have been many Leave posters on the route but someone has added the prow of a sinking ship entitled SS E.U. On it are the words 78mill more coming soon LEAVE NOW. Bloody brilliant the guy diserves a medal.
If you really want to know what my favourite phrase about the EU is email Border Wolf she will fill you in.
KEEP CALM & VOTE LEAVE
I’m OUT too. The EU is beginning to remind me of FIFA. I just love the latest scare story. Donald Tusk, the current president (or something) in the EU, says that Brexit will mean the end of “western political civilisation” as we know it. Excuse me? I feel like vomiting at this absolute garbage. If this is even remotely true, why has David Cameron risked the end of western political civilisation as we know it, simply to quell Euro sceptics in the Tory party? This is the same David Cameron who said earlier this year that we could thrive outside the EU if it came to it. If Moxey was a politician, he would be saying the same things.
I’M OUT TOO!
This used to be a blog about the Wolves.
OUT,They all hate us anyway.
No culture.BRING BACK THOSE HALCYON DAYS
The very first time I was able to vote was June 1975 in a referendum about whether we should stay in the Common Market or leave. I voted to stay in as a ‘common market’ made economic sense. Since then without me being asked or consulted the Common Market somehow became the EEC and then the EU with common laws, common currency, no borders and all sorts of federalist aims that seem to suit no-one apart from France and Germany. This time, 41 years later, I am voting out.
We might be able to return to free kicks 25 yards out rather than 20 metres out – and an 18 yard box – and I might be able to walk down the town at lunchtime without feeling I am in a minority as I don’t speak Polish or Lithuanian or Latvian or Albanian.
And besides I am with the late great Sir Jack Hayward when he said “Imagine waking up one day and discovering that you were French or German or Italian! I mean, life wouldn’t be worth living would it!”.
I think I might survive having celebrated 15 Euro or World Cup wins between them.
I see DG is criticising our brethren on the streets of our Euro partners..
I have to remind you that in that photo there is a quantum theorist several accountants and solicitors an MP and an adviser to the cabinet..
We just have to remind ourselves that we are a warring nation and we just love to mix it on the streets and show the world how to drink and behave …whatever the background ..
Rule Britannia..the pound..and Boris Johnston..
I have already postal voted OUT.
Anything that removes a level of politicians and makes the ones left more accountable is good.
The ballot paper should have read LEAVE the EU AND abolish the house of Lords.
At least you over there have politicians with a few brain cells, and you have a chance to get out.
Look at the choices we have in November.
Clinton or Trump
350 million people, plus a few million illegals, and these two are the best we can come up with?
Theres a lot to be said for Texas to secede from the Union.
On a footballing note, its 6.20 in the morning and I am looking forward to Rooney, Sterling and Lallana not playing, someone other than Kane taking the corners, and Vardy giving the Welsh defence twisted blood.
Ha

Almost forgot
What an arrogant, overrated tosser that slimy haired wanker from portugal is, for dissing Iceland.
With a tiny bit of luck, Iceland could have won, and then who would look even more stupid than he does now?
Any sportsman would have congratulated their keeper for a fine game, and then agreed that they stuck to their game plan and frustrated the Portuguese.
They big question is why that prima donna didnt change his game plan when the match was obviously not going their way.
Little shit, he should be at the poorthorns.
Agree with you about politicians Clive. We think they’re bad here but one look across the pond and, yuk, Clinton or Trump? You’re between a rock and a hard place.
Agree with you about that arrogant Portuguese wanker. What a cry baby.
Congrats to Wolves on retaining Academy One Category status for the next three years. All we need now is an Academy One Category owner, like someone who gives a damn.
Phew…..God save the Queen..
…at least dangerous Dave has had practice to loose at the end..
Poor chap..
#Hodgson charmed thankfully
I think I’ve done my throat a mischief.
What a way to win it.
An impressive performance by England, totally dominated the Welsh.
Kane looked jaded and Sterling looks like he shouldn’t be anywhere near the England set up until he learns how to play as a winger.
Apart from that, everybody looked the part.
How many English players would get in your team now Gareth?
Lesson for Kenny Jackett. Bring subs on early. How many times last season did we bring someone like Mason brought on at 85 minutes?
Kane was jaded today. Sterling missed a sitter very early on. After such failings, give someone else a chance. If nothing else, fresh legs make a difference. Kenny, please note.
I’ve just become a season ticket holder at my local club, Chelsea. I was waiting for us to be promoted so I could proudly see Wolves at Stamford Bridge again, but it’s looking like a long wait.
As a proud Scot I feel it only fair to mention a certain Kyle Walker, he was simply epic what an emerging superstar. He carried you guys through today as he did against Russia. Defenders do not always get the praise and MOTM awards even though they thourghly deseved it. Tne boy was epic.
You’re right mate.
I think we’ve got the best two attacking full backs in the competition.
And your fave, Dangerous Dave, showed his true worth to all of Wolves’s next season’s opponents.
Did he actually touch the ball after he came on?
And only a few more touches in their first game.
Having said that, those two super galactico’s of Real Madrid have shown their quality and class thus far……NOT!
Bale, two stuffy free kick goals, and bugger all other contribution, and Greaseballaldo, nothing but lack of class and zero contribution.
Overpaid wankers.

Spot on Bedford. I just nabbed the 250th. I’m chuffed. I’d better hit return before someone else comes in!
Damn you Bedford Wolf!
I was going to be the 250th post.
Now I’ll have to wait for 300.
Poxey’s a little tinker. New logo for his gym.?

Put him in goal.
This will end badly, the French farmers and fishermen will be blockading the ports again.

Cheers Mark
Wolves Blog family…… as Clive would say ‘Fu@kin unbelievable’ ….
Spent an enjoyable half hour or so last night reminiscing about times gone by – Express & Star website, click on ‘Wolves nostalgia’ and then on an article about Frank Munro and how he came to join us. Best bit is footage of the 1967 tournament final in the USA when we beat Aberdeen 6-5 with a ‘golden goal’. It lasts a good 10 minutes+ and is wonderful though the first minute or two the picture is all over the place but stick with it. the American commentary is hilarious and some of the tackling was well, let’s just say back then men were men.
You get to see a youthful Dave Wagstaffe bamboozling defenders, Terry Wharton bombing down the other wing, a bearded Derek Dougan winning every header and scoring a great goal, the magical Peter Knowles showing just what a talent he was. Its fabulous. Even shows the presentation of the trophies at the end with Knowlesy feigning tiredness and crawling on his hands and knees to collect his trophy.
Wolves team was Phil Parkes, Gerry Taylor, Bobby Thomson, John Holsgrove, Dave Woodfield, Dave Burnside, terry Wharton, Ernie Hunt, derk Dougan, Peter Knowles and Dave Wagstaffe. Our goals came from Burnside (3), Knowles, Dougan and an O.G.
Happy times! We were all young and forward looking and our team under Ronnie Allen had just won promotion back to the 1st Division.
Why the f*ck did we let Vokes go for £500K?? Sold by Moxey before Solbakken took over.
Agreed. I always thought Vokes had it in him to be a very decent striker.
Could I suggest his …Annual salary !
Seeing the few ex Wolves players in France makes me happy.
Happy that they are ex.
Hennessey threw his toys out of his pram and wouldnt play, and quite rightly got sold, and last season probably put his back out whilst picking the ball out of the Crystal Palace net so many times during their freefall down the Prem, which will no doubt continue next season into the second division.
First choice for Wales?
Is there any competition?
Vokes?
A lumbering throwback, again with not much, if any, competition.
Edwards, that headless chicken wannabe, who touches the ball less times than Ireland’s left back, which dovetails my diatribe neatly into the biggest joke in the history of football, I give you, drum roll please, Mcdickwadhead’s lovechild……….
Stephen “back off ” Ward, the ultimate non footballer!!!
Yes, I know, Edwards is not yet an ex player, but he will be very soon.
I, for one, am completely underwhelmed by the attacking quality of every team in France.
Hopefully, once the knockout games commence, light bulbs will go off and the coaches and players will realize that you have to actually score to win matches.
Duh.
My Twix eating spy tells me the Doogle is looking better than ever, which is the best news to come out of England for many a month.
We get to see Senor Messi in Houston tonight, up against USA in the Copa America or some such stuff, at NRG Stadium, which is the home of Houston Texans throwball team.
The stadium is actually pretty fuckin’ cool, 70 plus thousand capacity, and parking capacity for several million cars and trucks.
I looked for a ticket, but I aint paying $150.00 plus $20.00 to park, to sit in 90 degree heat and watch a football match what dont involve my team or my country.
Yeah, I am a US citizen, but will only ever root for England.
Any road, time to get coffee.
A happy FOwb to y’all
Say what you like Clive, but I’m really pleased for Dangerous Dave. Long term servant of the club and now played in every game for a team that has finished their group comfortably above our so-called ‘superstars’.
Good on ya Dave. Livin’ the dream.

Something wrong with the map mileages for several fixtures. London is about 130 miles from Wolverhampton, so how come Fulham is 278 miles? Brentford 274 miles? QPR 268 miles?
We’ve got to come home?????
Villa’s not 33 miles from Wolves either.
Return journeys.
Come home? Light weight!
Love the map, Stu baby, but those distances from Wolvo to other grounds seem a lot bigger than when I used to live in England.
Must be inflation, or the exchange rate or Brexit or summat.
FOwb
I knew someone would bite!!!
They are round trip mileages
Duh
Big Red Truck, Big Red BSer
Woops! Blonde moment. Mind you, after some of the results we’re had on the road, I wouldn’t want to go home!
BTW, I’ve just taken two season tickets at my local club Chelsea. I was going to wait until Wolves were back in the PL, but could be a long wait… I did get a bit excited at the prospect of Chelsea being relegated at one stage last season, bringing the day closer when Wolves would again play at the Bridge, but it wasn’t to be. When I told a mate I was hoping for a Chelsea relegation, he laughed, and said, yeah right, and Leicester are gonna win the title I suppose?
Just seen the League Cup draw. Creepy!

ITS ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You really need to get a friggin’ life, Bedford
As I’ve said many times before I am very easily pleased. Am thinking of changing my name to Bedford ‘300’ Wolf.
P.S. rumour has it Kerry Katona and Peter Andre are to be drafted into the Iceland squad.
At least we didn’t get Portugal.
Iceland is about the size of Coventry so thats a score draw followed by losing on penalties
Blimey according to the BBC Championship table Villa have started well.
I really like Italians. Friendly, funny, outgoing. Altogether great to be around. Likewise their country. Great scenery, amazing history…….
Their football team on the other hand are, and always have been, dirty, cynical, cheating, diving scumbags.
Good guys 1 v 0 Scumbags.
Brilliant. Congrats Ireland. And well done Stephen Ward. Played well he did.
I agree Wolfstroker and jumped out of my chair in delight when Brady scored though with allegedly the largest Italian population outside of London about 25% of Bedford is in mourning today!
On my way into work this morning – stopped off en route to cast my vote in the most important referendum or election we have had since 1975 – as I drove through the driving rain I listened to the following 3 songs (its only a short journey);
Arms of Mary – Sutherland Brothers & Quiver
Rose Of Cimarron – Poco
One Of These Nights – Eagles
Brilliant. Now if we can just get the right result today even the rain wont be able to spoil my mood.
I’ve been searching for an owner or the devil himself
I’ve been searching for an angel in white
I’ve been waiting for an owner whose a little of both
And I can feel him but he’s nowhere in sight………………
Stuff me, Bedders, you do have taste after all!!
Rose of Cimmarron
One of my all time faves, bought for me by Birmingham Susan.
Oh what memories that song brings back, but as this is a family show, I will do an Eric Idle and
Say no more!!
Wolfstrokie, you need to get your tv fixed or new glasses.
Ward doesnt have the ability to play well.
Sorry.
Fact of life.
It must have been a cardboard cut out running around.
Quite sad we got Iceland, coz I been rooting for them all along, and I dont want to cheer for the team that knocks England out!!
That is not going to be an easy match.
FOwb
Nothing wrong with my telly Clive. Must be me eyes. First Dangerous Dave and now Wardie. Maybe I should have gone to Specsavers.
Well done to Bedford for smashing the record for consecutive posts (i have only done 3 and i was smashed). Looking at the fixtures not a difficult start but i am thinking the championship will be a tougher place next season. I know there are still fans out there carrying a torch for KJ but on last seasons performance i fear he could be out of his depth.
PS
Good luck in the vote today to all of y’all who want to get out.
I wish Texas would secede from the Union, then we wouldnt have to put up with all those pricks in Washington.
Seriously, 350 million Americans, and the best two candidates for our next president are Trump or Clinton?
We are doomed!
Trump or Clinton?
With any luck you won’t get the evil of two lessers.
Wolfstroker & Bedford.
Two great posts, Eagles and taking the piss out of the italianos, absolute made my millenniumn now for
an OUT result and I’m a happy Stuey. Ward played really well last night, because of Clives desire to stick
a sharp steak through his heart I watched him closely and one of his passes split the I ti defence like Clives Girl from Brum. Leave it.
Best match if the Tourno, (seeing the Italianos get humped), albeit their reserve side, but England did it so why not the greasey Waps?
At least England fans have only got one more game of shit tactics to endure and then they can come home, what a Nation of underachievers, a disappointment, I read today the FA approached Brendon Rodgers to replace our Woy, they are such a bunch of tossers aren’t they.
Anyone renewing their season ticket?
My three tracks for the day are:-
‘The final countdown’ by Europe
‘Reasons to be cheerful’ by the wonderful Mr Dury and his mates
&
‘Alright now’ by…
…FREE!!!!!!
If only.
On a slightly footbaling note. Glad to see two things happen today.
Jamie Vardy has signed a new four year deal to demonstrate what a few of us were saying a
Few days ago about the similarity to him and Bully. Loyalty and hard working.
Also, the fact that we are not the only team in the World that no one any good wants to sign for because Arsenal have been well snubbed (Ozil being an exception).
Nowt queer as football.
Legend at Leicester or bit part player at the Arse’. Seems a no-brainer to me.
Spot on wolfstroker, brilliant move by vardy , having won the epl kind of takes arsenals sales pitch away from them doesn’t it !!! And with the kind of money flying around , what’s another 20 k ? ( he said ) ?
So after we stuff Iceland ,
Humble host nation France
Wiggle past Germany
We will just have to turn over Croatia
What’s the panic peeps !!!
We’re off to France next week to La Bretonne ..and there is the possibility of England v France ….. Mouthwatering ( or a few bottles of vin blanc).
Can’t beat it …should be a loff ….hope I get home in one piece…..
Twix – here’s a little phrase that if you learn it off by heart might just save your life out there:
Lev Yashin Sputnik Moscow Dynamo Yuri Gagarin stalin.
It’s Russian for “would you like one of my hanging baskets?”.
Bedford …. I’m sending you some prescription only “you must get out more” tablets…… if you show no improvement after 3 days please go back to the doctor….?
? Was put in as a smiley face btw…
24th June 2016
INDEPENDENCE DAY, Wie have proved we will not be Bullied by liers and conmen.
BRITISH AND PROUD.
NOW FOR A NEW OWNER,CEO, MANAGER AND CHANGE OF DIVISION.
Celebrationary drinks tonight I think.
As I have just said to an old school friend who lives in the States. We have beaten Germany again and stopped them form completely taking over. Two world Wars, One world Cup and now BREXIT. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN
As a bonus we get rid of the pratt Cameron at the same time.
Well cover me in chocolate and throw me to the lesbians.
We’ve only gone and went and dunnit!
DOOGie – you have such a brilliant way with words.
You are far too good for this blog, you should be on the stage.
The next one leaves in 10 minutes. (boom-boom as dear old Basil Brush used to say).
Dont normally comment on anything other than Wolves on here but an historic day for sure. I am certainly economically worse off this morning and think we could eventually return to a domestic political battleground similar to the seventies. Doog will have some of that chocolate ! (before you smother it on).
There’s gonna be some nose rubbing in shite for those lying Tories and that numpty Corbyn, but this is the best one so far for me. Funny as F#%€.
Well the Scots are off. The Northern Irish may be. Little England run by a bunch of Toff millionaires and a faceless unelected elite in the House of Lords.
Now come on Cheeseburger – being a Wolves fan you should be used to losing by now. lol
p.s. StuWolf – great picture ‘Bloody Foreigner, have sent you another one that made me laugh but I can’t work out how to post it on here as I am rather dense.
The battle is lost. The war goes on. Bit like wolves v shit really !
And Trump is in Scotland today
Perhaps he is meeting Morgan on the golf course to discuss a Mrexit from Molineux??!!
Brilliant Clive- a People’s Moxey exit or Poxit. Or even Pox Out !
Planty wins his Stairway court case, and the value of Sterling drops
Does that mean he is out of the England squad……. Please?
Ben, I’m reply 336 and counting. What’s the chance of a new topic before we leave the EU?
Only asking! There’s lots of stuff happening in the silly season at Wolves, like who we haven’t signed, and who is the biggest tosser at Wolves?
DWW – well said. I was poster number 300 and at this rate I might not still be alive before we get a new topic. The fixtures? The takeover? The new kit? The price of milk? Anything will do.
If we get to 502 we beat Brian Lara’s world record…
Just been watching Glastonbury on TV.
Good to see the two Wolves flags there again.
Steve Morgan and Jez Moxey. Oh sorry didn’t have my reading glasses on. I thought you said two Wolves a***holes.
Australia 0
England 3
Not something you get to say very often , but a better ‘ player mentality transformation ‘ you will never see ,
Just saying ?
Well, three absolute garbage games from Euro.
If I didnt know better, I would suggest Jackett has coached all the teams!!
Dont lose at all costs
Crappo, crappo and more crappo.
Nice to see a Shit defender stuck one in his own net!
Thank dog Britain got out
Now we can have our own Home Championships again, perhaps with some passion and style.
Lovely to see the Ozzies stuffed well and truly on their own turf, shows we have one good English sports team.
Heres to better footie tomorrow
Am thinking of starting up a petition for another referendum.
This one will be about whether or not we want to leave the Eurovision Song Contest (aka The Eastern European 1980’s style freak show).
Who’s with me?
As long as we dont have to listen to you singing instead, Bedders
Can you sing ‘Far Far Away’?
Yes.
Good, well f*** off then, the farther away the better.
Boom-boom.
Or should that be boom-bang-a-bang?
No 345 the number of times the elite will have a referendum until they get the answer they want.
No.346 the number of times I have smiled since hearing the great news Friday morning.
No. 347 the number of collective braincells of those who think there might be another referendum.
No.348 the number of collective braincells of those calling for London to become independent and rejoin the EU.
No.349 the number of times I have thought Nicola Sturgeon reminds me of wee Jimmy Krankie’s.
No.350 the number of Shadow Cabinet ministers who have resigned today.
Just been reading that Wilfred Zaha has been cheating on his pregnant girlfriend by ‘romancing’ Kortney Hause’s girlfriend. Blimey! I know he wasn’t at Man U that long but clearly he learned a lot off Ryan Giggs.
Bedford. Farage said last month that a 52/48 vote would mean ‘unfinished business’. He said a 2/3 to 1/3 result would be conclusive. Strangely enough, he has now changed his tune.
Farage means well but he is a bit of a kn*b like a lot of politicians on all sides. Didn’t he concede defeat just after the polls closed? See? A kn*b.
First two French goals coming down their right side
Ward playing left back for Ireland
Coincidence?
I think not
Just seen the highlight of Glastonbury.
ELO. How many great tunes can one man write?
What with that and his Traveling Wilbury period, Mr Lynne has to be one of the best songwriters around.
I remember sharing a few coffees with him in the Sutton Coldfield School of Art refectory when he was in an unknown band called The Idle Race.
I wonder if he remembers me?
Funnily enough DOOG …when we went to see him and ELO at Bingly Hall in Stafford …he said …have you seen the DOOGooder lately…….
Nice one Twix!
Once seen, never forgotten.
Did anyone apart from me and Stu see the Wolves fan at the England game?
Its half time now, and it appears that Jackett is coaching the England team.
Not seen such a bad performance from an England team since……their last game
Utter crap.
Albion in disguise.
Looks like we might be leaving Europe twice this week. Have to ask is Hodgson Jaclkett in disguise
What a disgrace guys.
Your’e feckin shit
Your’e feckin shit
Your’e feckin shit
Your’e feckin shit
Your’e feckinnnnnnnnnn shit
Sports direct to close It’s doors due to collapse in sales of England shirts
Boris your boys took a hell of beating
My Grandmother was Welsh, so I am claiming Taffy heritage.
England, don’t bother coming back home, you are gonna get more shit than Beckham when he got sent off against Argentina.
That was quite possibly the biggest upset EVER, and the worst performance, in the history of football.
Not one of them should represent their country ever again.
Disfuckingraceful.
Even the albion can play better than that.
Steven Ward would have been better than them. Any of them.
Not one player had an even below par game they were that bad.
Iceland v Italy in the final!!
Another Brexit. Fuck in hell. Only the Antartic are any fuckin worse.
And so it begins, I’m a Scot and I can’t believe what I watched tonight.
That was the worst performance by an England team that I have ever had the misfortune to witness.
Collectively crap with Rooney outstanding for not putting a single pass to a team member in the second half.
Rashford was our man of the match and he was only on the pitch for five minutes.
Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, worst than some of the Wolves performances.
Overpaid prima donna’s with no idea of life in ordinary Britain.
Bloody remain politicians, especially that lot that represent less than 10% of the UK population, oh and also those tossers that lost to Iceland and their manager who is a part time dentist!!!!!
Hey stu , as a Scot , surely your used to watching stuff like that ? Only jocking mate
The really depressing thing is the two ex wolves icelandic players couldn’t make the squad.
Catastrophic and historic England display and other than Rooneys penalty which was superb he played his worse game as Captain too…
No strategy and a piss poor defence..mmm..I’ve heard this before -can’t remember where…
Just heard me old mucker KJ speak re the new season..builds confidence in me that we are going to tear it up..
Business as usual then with our ‘unbalanced side’…….?
Mr beige talking thoughtfully , considerably , safely , but really just beige , that’s mr kj. Inspiring !!!
I am worried. We have a history of appointing ex-international managers as our manager from Graham Taylor, through Glenn Hoddle to Mick McCarthy. Whilst I want to see Jackett gone am not sure Roy Hodgson as his replacement would be any better.
Couple of thoughts, I see Liverpool have just spent £34million on a Southampton striker. They should be thanking their lucky stars Morgan didn`t buy at Anfield, he wouldn`t have spent £34.50 on players.
The England performance reminded me of watching Wolves, although we have an excuse as we have an owner who won`t invest. As for our overpaid, overhyped, arrogant, useless over rated bunch of absolute wankers on the pitch last night, god help us, and as others have said, don`t get Hodgson in as new manager under any circumstances.
When can I buy tickets for Rotherham as its only 2 train stops from where I work in Chesterfield. If we can`t get a result and some points there then its going to be a massive struggle this season.
Thanks for sharing this Ben your posts are spot on!
