With promotion and the title in the bag, Wolves are playing for additional credit.

The record points total for League One is the 101 set by Charlton in 2011/12. Three points tomorrow would be enough to wrap that baby up.
But a more fascinating milestone, is that if Wolves win the next two games, it means they’ve beaten every single side in the division at least once this season. That very rarely happens, if ever.
Whether they achieve either or both of the above is largely irrelevant of course, but would certainly add a thick layer of gloss to an already shimmering season.
Coventry
I was interested to read Steven Pressley’s comments earlier in the week when he said he felt it would be a remarkable achievement to keep Coventry in League One after their 10 point deduction and the various stresses and strains they’ve had to endure.
For the most part, I agree, but when you consider they were hovering in and around the play-offs earlier in the season, I suspect there’s a tinge of disappointment they couldn’t have done better.
Clarke and Wilson were firing them up the table back then and with the former sold and the latter out injured for a chunk of the season, that checked their progress.
Northampton hasn’t been a particularly happy home for the Sky Blues and the 38 goals they’ve conceded on their own patch is the highest in the league.
They haven’t won any of their last five meaning they come into this match still with an outside chance of going down. As Kenny Jackett said the other day though, they’ve probably done just enough already.
Wolves
Would it be a bold move to throw Leon Clarke into action tomorrow? Maybe the vitriol of the home crowd will spur him on to finally get the ball rolling on take two of his Wolves career.

If it’s the same team as Monday I won’t have any complaints, but I’m sure Clarke, James Henry and possibly Lee Evans won’t be too far from the manager’s thoughts.
Defensively the team wobbled and creaked a bit over the Bank Holiday, so I’m sure the back four will be keen to tighten up and claim at least one cleansheet from the remaining matches.
The odds
Wolves are favourites for the win at 10/11. The draw is 11/4 and a home victory is on offer at 16/5.
Dave Edwards has a strong goals to games ratio this season and if he plays tomorrow, odds of 9/1 as first scorer seem quite generous.
Michael Jacobs has gone a few games without finding the net. He’s 15/2. Callum Wilson is their main main and he’s 11/2.

Predictions
I’m yet to update the table after Leyton Orient, but I believe I’m correct in thinking Dave H has sewn up the PL title for 2013/14. Well done to you mate. It’s safe to say you’ve lead from the front for most of the season.
There’s no reason Wolves shouldn’t win again tomorrow. I don’t think Coventry are as strong as they were at Molineux earlier in the season and we are effectively playing for fun.
I’ll go for the trusty old 3-1.
Up The Wolves.

Call me greedy but I would absolutely love 6 points from these last two games, and if the players know what little bit extra they can achieve they’ll be up for it as well!
4-1 Wolves
I think we’ll get the win time to set a new points record for this division. 0-2 Wolves !
Perhaps the team can enjoy this one without to much pressure and by that I mean keeping the ball and passing it round a bit ..we could run up a score here and create a lot of chances ..
Clean sheet needed at the back ..
0-3 to wolves ..
Ps Sako seems committed for nxt season …
Everyone keeps mentioning the Plymouth total as the record for our League but it wasn’t. That was technically Division three which is now League Two. It used to go Premier League, Division One, Division Two and then Division Three. Whether 102 is a football league record I don’t know but that’s not the points record for League One I don’t think as it doesn’t correspond with the divisions pre-2004.
Prediction wise I’m going for 0-2!
UTW
You’re right mate. I just checked the records and updated the post accordingly.
Here’s the records from the FL:
http://www.fl125.co.uk/records/league-points
If we were to win the final two and get 105 points that would take us joint second in the table with Sunderland for highest points over a season in any of the football leagues.
Reading hold the record with 106 from 2005-06, when they had the likes of Doyle, Sidwell, Hunt, Kitson, etc all playing superbly. You realise what an achievement that was in the second tier now when you see the season Wolves have had at this level.
Maybe a bit of team rotation to bring in Clarke against his old team as Thomas suggests, and give more of the squad a chance to participate in full in the success, as well as testing them for next season? Or tried and tested to go for the records? Whatever, I think Coventry will fight hard in their position and we shouldn’t relax too much. Closer, perhaps, than expected, but I’ll still try for Coventry 0 Wolves 2.
First of all I would like to thank all the people who took the time to comment on my postcard blog.
I had a huge amount of fun doing it. It was a labour of love in more ways than one.
(There was a bottle of Yellow tail to be drunk and someone had to finish the spliff).
It’s probably stating the bleeding obvious (but I’m good at that so I’ll do it anyway) but as far as the Coventry match is concerned, the result all depends on how much the lads are not satisfied with just the title and want to go for the record.
It would be an easy game to take the collective foot off the pedal and then put on a show next week.
I think that Kuddly Ken will try and get any thoughts of taking it easy out of their heads.
So I’m going for a win.
And a clean sheet.
2-0 to the men in old gold.
I thought it was a spliff but I just couldn’t smell the aroma from it .. stay cool man .. great video
I’m going for a two goal advantage to us, again as 0-2. (I also predicted the same score for Rotherham and Orient and sort of half achieved it with two goal wins, albeit 6-4 and 1-3). My feeling is that once we get a goal ahead we press on, and generally make do with two. I was at the Orient game with my brother-in-law (an Orient fan) and he got the score bang on. As well as Orient played, he thought Wolves were more clinical and higher quality. Considering the cracker of a season Orient have had, that’s praise indeed. Bodes well for us for next season.
Coventry City 0 Wolverhampton Wanderers 5
Another Dicko hat trick and a brace for Clarke and a clean sheet to boot.
UTW/FOWB
As I am languishing in mid table obscurity in the Prediction League I need an accurate forecast for this one. Therefore I go for Wolves 5 Coventry 1. Have I seen that score somewhere before now ?
Coventry seem to be struggling to find a side to put out quoting injuries to lot’s of theor players, seems like the Rotherham tactics, telling us they Might save players for the playoffs and then turning in a fantastic shift, so tongue in cheek with the Coventry managers comments.
So with that in mind I’m going for a catious 4-0 to Wolves:-)
Excuse the spelling, trying to rush things.
I think if Clarke plays then he is due a goal & he’ll want to prove a point here.
To break more records would be great plus I could do with the points to stay in the top 5 of the prediction league!
Coventry 0-3 Wolves
UTW
Coventry 0 Wolves 2
I’ll be generous and give Coventry a goal. A Wolves win 3-1.
The opposition were very good at Molineux and the occasion helped bring an excellent away following. I recall missed chances, mostly from Griffiths, meant we only scored one, and their equaliser was a cracker of a volley.
However Wolves have moved on and upwards since then, while Coventy`s season has somewhat petered out. I`d be really surprised if we didn`t win 3-1 again, and as I have a ticket, and apart from Preston, every away game I`ve been to this season the lads have taken the three points, and this very special season will I`m sure go to over 100 points tomorrow.
I’m pretty sure the lads will be up for this and I’m confident we’ll get a win. We’ve got enough players who can create goals out of anything, as James Henry proved in the final moments at Orient on Monday. I’ll go for a 2-0 Wolves win.
Well done to Dave H and 2-1 to WWFC.
Thanks Colin, I will go the same as you. 2-1 to the Wolves
UTW
Coventry 0-2 Wolves
Coventry 0 Wolves 4
Another class performance and another comprehensive victory, 0-4.
What a season! Two games left to finish it in style. Wolves to win 3-0.
My predictions are finally coming good at the end of the season. Hope to be there tomorrow and see us win 0-1. A Sako rocket.
Coventry 0 – 3 Wolves. Nice to see you picked up on my “beating every team in the league” comment of last week. Still trying to find out if/when it’s been done before.
Just for a change I’m gonna stick me neck out and go for
Them 1 Champions 5
Still got a great ring to it, eh?
Champions.
Can you spell that in sandwell?
CHUMPIONS in Sandwell more like .. What happened to you sign off ?
Ooops, sorry
Far Cough w…b….
Can’t see us taking our foot of the pedal but I expect them to play a more relaxed style now we are champions. We have too much talent and drive for a Coventry team that have done a great job considering their 10 points deduction this season. Clarke will get pitch time be it at the start or as a substitute.
Coventry 2-3 Sako/Jacobs/Clarke
I really tried hard to get a ticket but to no avail .. still I’ll be smiling come 5 o’clock ..
Coventry 0 v 2 Wolves.
I think we are due a 4-1 tomorrow.
Coventry 1:2 Wolves
Think it’ll be a draw: Cov 2 – 2 Wolves
I’d take 2-1 wolves win and a neat record to boot.
Been along fruitful season but we’ll still be to good for Coventry 3-1 wolves win
Could possibly be a field day for Wolves.
Coventry City 0 Wolves 4
Surely time for a clean sheet – and the goals certainly went in over Easter so I’ll go for
Coventry 0 Wolves 3
Stress free football could work both ways as Leicester found out when promoted but we want a couple more records so a win is on the cards
Coventry 0-2 Wolves
Difficult one to call, but I don’t think the lads will let up.
They will want another record.
Maybe Clarke will get some time and silence the inevitable Sky Blue Boo Boys.
We are due a clean sheet too.
Coventry 0 Wolves 3
Pressley going to get all shook up in this one. That’s the wonder of Wolves. Cov 0 Wolves 4
Been to Sixfields 3 or 4 times. Remember the first time was a pre-season friendly in 1998.
Expect a professional performance to get the points record secured.
Coventry 0 Wolves 3
On a footnote to everyone’s desire to achieve 105 points I have just read KJs comments re: nxt season..
You really can’t knock this guy for being positive and (putting on record )
that he expects us to get promoted nxt yr ‘ I know this league well’ – ‘we have momentum’
What a difference from MM ‘I’ll take a point anyhow’ ect Mr negative..
We really have a good manager here
and he has created a fantastic new approach and that’s why it has rubbed off on all of us…
Can we really do it all again ? Success and expectancy is such a new experience….
I really do believe it..
Steve.
You are spot on here, we finally have someone at Molineux who knows what he is talking about. It’s all about “Confidence and Competence”. In Kenny we have a manager who has taken a bunch of no-where men and given them the tools and opportunity to gain their confidence and boy, does it show. From the confidence week in week out they have become competent at what they are doing and that is the thing that turns what seemed like a mediocre player into what we have at Molineux. That’s whats bringing the fans back to see what the rest of us are raving about. With the extra players Kenny already knows who he wants for our team, I expect it will be more of the same next year, they will come to laugh at the new kids on the block next season, but I think Kenny’s kids will shake em up.
I will be there today and think still 4-0 to Wolves.
Suspect we’re looking at a 1-1 draw tomorrow, but as I hope beyond hope that we can get to 105, I’m going for a 0-2 canter.
Sky Blues 1-3 Wolves
Coventry 2 – 3 Wolves
COYW
Congrats to Dave H for taking the very coveted PL crown.
Cov 2 -Wolves 2
Congrats Dave H! I’ll go for Coventry 3-5 Wolves because – well, why not? Hope Leon gets on the score sheet.
I’m going for Coventry 0 Wiolves 2
Not going to predict anything but a wi at this point! 0-2 to Wolves!
Wolves 2-0 Coventry
sky blues 1 The Old Gold n Black 4. CHAMPIONS, CHAMPIONS!
Coventry 0 – 2 Wolves for me please
Wolves 3 Cov 1
What about some Bernie Ecclestone style weighting of the points for the last two games. I only need a mere 14 points to knock the prescient Mr h off pole position
3 -1 win to us.
And apologies for not predicting the last two matches. DOOGooder mentions beer and some funny substances so often, his bad influence is responsible (sort of), for me having an Easter on Planet Relaxed
