Whilst the last few days have provided fantastic debate, I feel the need the clarify some of the rules about commenting on Wolves Blog.

Of course I don’t expect everyone to agree, I’d be disappointed if they did. But it’s the manner of some recent responses that concern me.
As you all know, I don’t modify comments before they appear below the articles. I want the conversation to flow quickly and freely as I believe it should on all football forums.
The only thing I have always asked is that people don’t abuse this system by directing offensive comments at other users of the blog.
I simply won’t tolerate it any longer.
I’ve trashed a number of comments from the below post, which I deem to have contravened this one very simple rule.
To be clear:
1. DO NOT make offensive, personal or abusive comments towards another commentator on the blog. Swear all you want, just don’t point it at others.
2. DO NOT question whether other commentators really support the club. This includes placing “fans” inside speech marks. Whether we all agree or not, I’m certain every person here supports the club.
From this point forward I want to make it abundantly clear that if you post a comment that goes against either of the above rules, both Ben and I reserve the right to modify or completely remove the comment without warning.
I hope you’ll all agree with our stance on this.
Thanks again for being part of the blog.
Up The Wolves.

Totally Agree. Up the Wolves.
There does need to be SOME sort of control on here, agreed!
Totally agree.
There are a small minority who use this blog to attack valid credible opinion just because it differs from their own. At times this is offensive and pretty boring.
While I hate any form of censure I would suggest that anyone who repeatedly uses the blog as a form of personal attack are sent packing.
Come on you Wolves!
Just found my way to the Blog and have to say it is very good
So agree don’t take it personally and we are Wolves fans
Well said Thomas. Whilst we won’t all see eye to eye we should all respect each others right to comment & reply. Remember we are all Wolves fans.
Agree totally…some of the things that make this blog stand out are that it is well written and well debated without the guile of other blogs I won’t mention…so let’s keep it that way!
Thomas have to agree with your stance.
Think what has driven such comments has been some supporters me included are still very angry
about last seasons shambles. Fears are that nothing has changed with Moxey still pursuing whatever he has been pursuing.
Think SS has plans that include raising the obvious lack of quality in the squad.
This will have a financial cost and I for one want to see the dross cleared out.
With the right purchases we should be able to get back to Premier with enough to hold our own and progress. If we don’t it could be all another yo-yo.
Well said Alf and I agree totally with you and also the sentiment of the blog.
I used to visit both the BBC site and Teamtalk and what Ben and Thomas are speaking of is what drove me away.
There is a difference between sarcasm/humour and slagging off.
Let’s give SS a chance and see what we have at the start of the season.
Also let’s hope he can improve those he retains.
It will take a while to unravel, but better than another season of McCarthy pie in whatever league!
Thanks Robin-feel SS is the best chance we have had in ages to be a proper football team.
I am still really hurt by last season- what a complete waste.
As ever UTW.
Hear ! Hear ! Slagging each other off can be highly rewarding if it is done right !
WE ARE WOLVES !
I was expecting something like this because there are a few who seem to relish in the personal attacks. I would question whether some of these are in fact from other clubs supporters just trying to get a bite.
This is probably the best wolves blog around and you do a good job in letting it run freely. It is only one of a couple of sites I go on as too many are restrictive beyond common sense.
So well highlighted as it is easy for faceless keyboard operators to attack other individuals when there is little chance of ever facing them in the ring for a milling session
Here’s to a really good positive season and if nothing else it should be refreshingly different
UTW
Airborne forever
‘Probably the best Wolves blog around?!’
You must mean definitely mate, right?
Shame you have to go to these lengths but there are Abusers and reeling it in and moderating it is a necessity……
SO I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE UTW!!!!!
Although I do completely agree it has taken a lot of will power not to question if you are a fan by calling you a t*ss*er…. but I’ll take the serious route. Keep up the good work guys!
I strongly agree with the comment policy. This is the best Wolves forum I have found and would hate to see its high standards deteriorate. Some other forums I have visited tend to get a little out of hand, and the spelling and punctuation (or lack of) make reading a chore at times. I enjoy the content and quality of comments and banter on this site and long may it continue.
Come on mi babbies.
Spot on Thomas. Couldn’t agree more
Its a shame its had to come in, but it was inevitable i`m afraid. Even me and my mate Clive from Houston must have winced at some of the abuse of our fellow fans by our so called brother fans.
Just shows how wide the spectrum of views is at all times, even more so when there is bad news on all fronts at Molineux. lets hope we start winning a few games nest season and that will be refelected in an improved tone to the blog overall. Roll on the 18th August.
I’ll hold my hands up and say I have used words I shouldn’t have and I apologise to the blog for that
But to me someone taking the mick out of another for being illiterate is abuse the same as ‘ name calling ‘
I watched 8 out of 10 cats the other night and Jimmy Carr called someone on the panel a paedo and everyone laughed and so did the panel fella , but hey Clive from Houston can rip the piss out of me for poor spelling but I cant take the piss out of the way he looks
Double standards I reckon on this blog !
I will not use abusive words in future but if that Clive puts me down I’m affraid he will get it back ten fold as abuse is abuse afterall no matter how small or big !
Just stick to the rules please. I don’t care about what happens on a channel 4 panel show.
There will never be the chance for either the ‘put down’ or a ‘ten fold’ response.
Only commentators who respect one another will be allowed to use the forum from now on.
Abuse,to me its just a bit of banter nothing else, theres more serious things going on in the
world to worry about than a few fellow buggers ‘ oh’ sorry i mean blogger’s taking the p##s,If people take offence at whats written on here i feel sorry for them, they want to work in a factory then they’ll know what abuse is all about as i said its only a bit of banter.can i abbreviate like FOJM..
There’s a line between banter and abuse johnok, believe me.
It gets under my skin when people think they can type disrespectful and downright abusive comments and think they can get away with it by saying it’s ‘banter’.
What people do on a factory floor is their prerogative, but here it just won’t be tolerated. Stick to the rules or go elsewhere. Those are the two options.
OK,Thomas, I for one will abide by the rules only because i like writing on this blog and also i think you and Ben are well appointed to police any wrong doings by not printing any blog you feel unsavory, then i think we ALL will get the message,….
I thought the debate was a good one because neither side got shouted down there were times last season when it was difficult to try and say anything constructive without being called a f****** h**** c******.
Have to agree a lot of the invective last season was aimed at the fans reluctant to join in the purely negative criticism.Sad to see the passing of Jack Taylor the former referee and a Wolves supporter.
Not sure why it should be off limits to question the ‘support’ of fans who just continually slag the club (but its my favourite blog and i will try and keep to the rules).
Square balls, don’t you think there has been sufficient justification for many on here to slag off both management and team for what has happened over the last 12 months ? Think that all is being asked is to respect people’s views as you should expect your views to be respected by others.
We are hopefully all Wolves fans, all wanting the same but our views often differ on how Wolves achieve the success we all crave for.
I think that some commenters enjoy self abuse so much they want to share it with everybody.
What we don’t need either are racist comments. There were blatant racist comments last night and referrals to individuals who have been acquitted of them in a court of law. So lets keep the fluency and imagination in the comments and not resort to offensive racist remarks and statements.
Does the crackdown on personal abuse apply to posters on this blog only ? Can we still expect to read “dogs’ abuse” aimed at the players and staff on a daily basis ?
I don’t think it’s wrong to continually question the staff or players of the club and always expect the very best. We have that right as supporters in my opinion.
Yes, admittedly sometimes we all take things too far in the heat of the moment and get too aggressive and personal with our words, but everyone at the club is paid (handsomely I might add) to cope with this sort of pressure.
Abuse Moxey all you like…
He deserves it for the way he is treating Us the fans and this great club..
Morgan needs to wake up and smell the coffee..
As for us lot, lets agree to disagree but we all love each other as Wolves fans. Keep the abuse for the idiots up the road who seem to think they own the Black Country when in fact their ground is in B’Ham…
Moxey OUT!!! Morgan OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
Is That abuse ??
Don’t so much mind the Moxey abuse. You have to question the bloke’s intentions sometimes, but STS ( as his training gear says ) has got to be given some faith, and although not a johnson fan myself last season, I think we have to trust in STS’s evaluation of the situation and see how it all works out. We have nothing better at CB right now and if Stale thinks he is up for the job them I for one am behind them both for a fresh start.
TC? he’s literally backroom now, but wh can slate him (despite his dismal record) when he stood up to the plate when so many others would not. Nobody can blame TC for our relegation, he did the best he could with the shambles he was left with……a thankless job for anyone, but at least he had the balls to take it on. I’m not saying make him Director of Football, but also not wishing him off down the road to wherever MM may get a posting.
Let’s not forget what MM and TC did for our great club, yet look forward to the new era under the new forward thinking STS.
But getting back to the original post, this can only happen if M&M let STS get what he want’s and needs to make it a success in his style. Holding purse strings will only hinder what I see as a managerial tactician mastermind from doing the job he has been hired for.
BBS a promissing and good first step. but not much else since to set the pulses racing.
Generally agreed US Wolf.
Not totally convinced about Johnson. My gut feel says if he worked for me I would want him out BUT there are other factors involved that have to be weighed. We can not give him away. One thing for sure and I hope he knows, if he wants to make it he has to come out of the gates real hot and humble. A lot of pressure on him, and he needs to understand that.
I have heard (as always from good source) that SM (who is a pretty sharp guy) has reset the ground rules and JM has been clearly told that he has to find a way to back STS within reason and just balancing the books is not enough in the future. STS I understand has been told that he will be fully supported within reason. Whatever that means.
From what I have seen so far, STS is feeling his way carefullly and in a typically Scandinavian way will be very dilligent and pick his battles wisely. Some wont be worth the fight, but some he is going to be pretty firm about.
If I remember correctly Jez was hired by Sir Jack during the “Golden Tit” era, when all manner of stuff had been going on with his money. In fairness the brief was get the money under control, which he did. But time moves on and as someone mentioned the other day, opportunity after opportunity has been missed. Sure I want to see good financial control, it should be a given. But this is an entertainment business, Football has to fight for the discretionary entertainment monies. Jez has to realize that he has to put a good product out there every week.
Anyway come on Wolves we love ya.
Kightly Now linked with Stoke City !!!
OMG what kind of reaction is that gonna generate on here if he leaves….
Moxey OUT!!! Morgan OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
I will get down on my hands and knees and crawl to Molineux to plead with him not to go if it would make him stay.
I recently made a comment on loyalty being a rare commodity in football. If Kightly moves on now after the way that the club have looked after him during his long injury problems – and his statements about how all he wanted to do was battle his way back into the first team and do his best for Wolves – my point will have been made in spades.
I am getting resigned to the fact that we will lose some players i quite like but after all they were all here last season and it was terrible. As Stale says we need a fresh start.Newcastle let there big names go and had one of there best seasons.
Well said Thomas!
I am a reasonably new reader of and contributor to your blog and it does make me wince when the type of slagging off that has happened recently occurs. I think that if you can’t make your point without abusing or resorting to foul language, you are half way to losing the argument.
After all – if I wanted to listen to language like that I could go to a football match!
Agree totally DOOG, like your name by the way.
Things did go OTT. Personal abuse is to me unacceptable at any level.
How right you are about staying cool and calm. I suppose I have been involved in the average number of various angry encounters, something I learned from my wife is that the calmer and more reasoned you stay the angrier they get until they either realise they are looking like an idiot or lose it totally.
This is the best blog by far, lets keep it this way.
As far as I am concerned real Wolves fans are the best in the World, and last season there were times when I was almost (not quite) weeping for the loyal guys hanging in there.
On the same subject lets hear it for the gals, watching games on TV over here last year they stood out a mile. Definitley we have the best looking and fervent female fans out there.
Keep it up girls we love ya.
Hear! Hear! to that!
Thanks for your warm support – I’ll wear it always.
NY Wolf, do you live in the Big apple? The City that Never Sleeps? If so, any tips on how to catch some live Wolves action this season? We had some good airtime on Fox Soccer last season, but as you are no doubt aware, if in deed you live in NY, that will not be the case for the Championship.
US Wolf,
Yep its gonna be a big problem for us I fear. I do have tehy friend who an weave magi with streaming an such like. I have hime at wor on it but I m not hopeful. If I get somehing going will let you know.
Am way upstate, near Rochester, how abou you.
Sorry, big time spelling problem,, , na I think itis
Sorry it took me a while to respond. My work computer blocks me posting but back on the home one now.
I live just outside of Richmond Virginia in Chesterfield County, but was born and bresd just outside of Wolverhampton.
If I also come up with any sucessfull means of watching Wolves Live action over her in the US I will be sure to let you know.
Richmond is a beautiful city used to visit on business regularly.
Herefordshire B&B myself but with strong West Midlands family ties, hence the the Old Gold blood.
Used to be a strong group of Wolves support from Herefordshire. I think I helped by bullying kids to support Wolves in Primary School.
Anyone know what UK Radio will carry Wolves games
Back Home I used to catch the odd game I couldn’t get to on 107.7 The Wolf, and sometimes Beacon Radio would cover a game.
Did a year in the Chelsea Hotel (1982) W 23rd street.
In those days u really had to scour the back pages, Sunday only, for a Wolves result!
Robin,
I hear ya about that. If it was not for the net and streaming, we would be screwed. Rareley any print results. Thats the killer being out of the Prem. I think I saw every game last season. Its gonna be tough. I have my techy buddies working on it though.
Come on guys lets romp this season for all us ex pats.
Thanks for pointing out the good support we get from the female supporters another group who provide a lot of support are the punjabi wolves http://www.punjabiwolves.com/?goal=content&mode=about
Agreed Pete,
In fact recognition to all supporter groups.
But I am a sucker for blondes and they look so good in Old Gold and Black
Now the happy clappers have learnt the naughty words you want to call a truce
??!!!
Sounds more like Ben than Thomas.
Another rule. Do not comment under 3 different usernames, particularly if the sole purpose of this duplicity is to incite others. You have been officially warned. Pick one username and use it from this point please. Thank you.
Well, after a good telling off by Thomas, I’ll try to discuss some footballing matters 😉 I’m joking, Thomas, things on that last blog got way out of hand and something needed to be said.
Anyway, I thought I’d share my hopes for the new season. Some serious, some slightly more tongue in cheek:
1. We see some flowing football and a solid defence. Give me this and I’ll be happy for a start.
2. Leon Knight is found guilty of making libellous comments against Jamie O’Hara and Danielle Lloyd, and is sentenced to community service which must be carried out in Wolverhampton.
3. Zeli Ismail breaks into the first team. I can’t remember such excitement about a young player since Robbie Keane.
4. We sell out at least one home game this season.
5. The big players stand up to be counted (O’Hara, Johnson etc.).
6. STS has a few good rucks with opposition managers.
And finally…
7. Clive and I have a discussion about who is better, Stephen Ward or Lionel Messi, after Ward wins the Ballon d’Or after scoring 43 goals in the season from left back including one goal following a jinking run past 6 of the Man City team and chipping Joe Hart from 25 yards as Wolves cause a huge upset in the FA Cup final.
My sentiments entirely.
Wardi looked in fine form today at Walsall so get your money on now before the odds come down.
Yeah, I think some moderation is a good idea, the general mindless abuse gets on my nerves sometimes.
I think you and Ben are doing a great job, keep it up! Even if I do think Ben talks a load of old nonsense 90% of the time.
In my opinion, your last sentence was complete nonsense.
Pretty late on this idea I know but – I think ‘happy clappers’ and ‘numpties’ should also be rid of on here… maybe it goes without asying with this new policy but think we need to zoom in on this…
Agreed,
Every site I have been on, as soon as someone starts the happyclapper theme. Trouble follows.
Thomas, thanks, agree and much needed.
I’d like to see this control extended to the sustained and unnecessary abuse of certain players, the management and owners of our club, which got to a point last season where I didn’t want to be associated with this blog.
That said, I do want us all to be free to voice our opinions, just asking that these are not abusive for abusive’s sake or on a sustained basis.
Let’s show any visitors that we have a little class.
