I couldn’t give two hoots about a less than thrilling performance, or the lack of a more emphatic scoreline.
All that mattered tonight was laying a certain 1986 ghost to rest and putting a god-awful week behind us.

Yes, Chorley made it uncomfortable with their long ball onslaught, yes, we could have exerted more control in the second half at times, but we’re in the fifth round and avoided an unimaginable fallout should the unthinkable have happened in Lancashire.
I was pleased to see Vitinha, who should feel extremely hard done by for falling behind Gibbs-White in the pecking order, get his chance tonight. He’s shown more control and quality on the ball in his handful of cameos in recent weeks than MGW has done in two years.
Although he didn’t play quite as advanced as a 10 tonight, what he offers between the lines would be suited to a role behind Raul or Willian Jose in a 4231, if Nuno was to return to that set-up.
As for the goal, all I need to say is that a certain Ruben Neves would have been proud of such audacity.
I found it bizarre seeing Cutrone start, as he awaits his return to Italy. His link-up play was woeful and Fabio’s wasn’t much better. Ok, the service wasn’t the best, but both fell way below the required standard.
The first-half showing was satisfying. An early goal allowed us to go on to control the first 45 through Moutinho and Vitinha, rather than engaging in physical warfare and playing into Chorley’s hands.
That platform gave us the chance to see the game out in the second period. It was like a Nuno performance of old – take the lead and control proceedings in and out of possession.
Two games away from Wembley and the sudden purchase of a proven and experienced number 9 at least gives us a some optimism to cling onto.

Are we getting a new number 9? I am not holding my breath…
Good to be in the next round… and talking of ghost that need laying to rest… Wembley FA Cup Semi Final anyone?
Willian Jose has signed mate.
I’m off the pace (like most of the team!)
We’re getting a number 12!*
At least, that’s what the Wolves website says.
*Subject to work permit and International clearance
I agree with you mate that getting through was all that mattered, given our recent woes and the potential for total disaster. I’ll give them a pass on that basis.
But we can’t consider a performance like that against a team in the sixth tier acceptable.
In the first half, I could live with us just knocking it around having got the early goal, but everything that came after was borderline embarrassing.
Chorley just seemed to push 10 yards up the pitch and all of a sudden we couldn’t get out and were reduced to defending our penalty area. Even when the subs came on and I thought ‘here we go’ it didn’t get much better.
Our midfielders couldn’t get on the ball and when they did it was rebounding off our flailing forwards. Fabio didn’t have a good game, so credit to Cutrone for somehow being even worse. Every time he touched the ball he gave it away. Hopefully, Willian is our saviour in the coming weeks.
We don’t turn into a bad team overnight so I expect us to get our act together enough to stay up, but this wasn’t a performance to inspire confidence.
Like you Thomas I found Wolves performance in the second half embarrassing and said so last night. This prompted a number of dislikes. Maybe because it was me? Anybody?
In my experience mate it’s not a person’s view is but how they communicate it that normally determines Likes/Dislikes. I always try to take a breath after a bad game to avoid an angry stream of consciousness.
Also, I give all my comments 5 up votes to get the ball rolling.
😀
???
I was trying.to put up a smiley. I guess you have privileges lol
I agree Thomas, on letting all the post match emotions filter through before trying to make a rational post here. Perhaps its all about timing – I think my posts would alter hourly as information and feelings are digested, like rings on bark. Sometimes you just have to let rip!
You had your say HW. That’s the main thing. Likes/dislikes are irrelevant.
I agree. I do give two hoots about performance and that wasn’t good enough. Nuno’s mantra has been consistent, he does care about performance . What I remember as a midfield player was trying to pass forward and if that wasn’t available , keep possession. So last night was Fabio’s worst performance so far, not acceptable , losing possession, lightweight challenges and naïve/predictable movement. Be honest, the Chorley centre forward was a real handful in comparison and wouldn’t cost a hundredth of the fee. So what are midfielders supposed to do when there are no options in front of them, no pace down the flanks, no runs behind and when they did play the ball into feet, it bounced off or Chorley mugged it. Credit to Chorley of course who played so well but part timers should have been out on their feet after 70 minutes ,yet they finished strongly because they were content to watch us pass it around so laboriously .We avoided a cup shock defeat but that was an embarrassing victory.
This was painful to watch.
I think you’ve been slightly unfair on Cutrone and Silva. In the first half it looked like they were making plenty of runs but no one would pass to them. I can’t remember the last time a wolves midfielder played a through ball. Then in the second half they (for the limited time we were in possession) they had to come short for it and didn’t have much support.
Dendonkers performance was worrying, yes he runs about and can break up play but he consistently makes the safe backwards pass. And that seemed the theme of the game, even when we broke forward, the ball would somehow end up with Coady at the back, who would play a long ball.
Yes, a wins a win but the theme of recent performances has continued. This was a chance to break that mould and give us some confidence going into the next prem game.
I hope Nuno’s plan to remedy the current issues doesn’t solely rest on brining in Willian Jose, as there’s many more issues than just not having a recognised striker.
I’m normally very positive and I still am about Nuno and our future generally.
But this was bloody awful, nothing up front and our wing backs kept giving the ball away. Young and inexperienced!
But at least we won and we’re in the next round.
Things will get better…
Perfectly summed up Paddy – we made it to the 5th round and avoided public humiliation.
These are the games I have always dreaded – cup humiliation and Chorley was the worst, The Media was all waiting, licking their lips, and…goal of the round. Will do wonders for Vitinha’s confidence and good to see John Ruddy giving a solid display
Yet again Ruddy`s super saves contrast with Paricio`s static keeping.
West Ham 6th in the league, Burnley end Liverpools run, Top of the league changing hands quicker than votes in an American election.
Why are we surprised at Anything that’s gone on this year, these guys thrive on praise, plaudits and hearing their name screaming out from every corner of Molineux.
I said to, “Jen de Wolf it looked like a training session”, no one broke a sweat, even the guys that came on were subdued, Chorley had their Wembley, they had 2000 virtual tickets sold. If they hadn’t been so naive that would have been 30,000, Wolves fans are generous, of that there is no doubt, but hey ho, we’re in the 5th round, we played very, very mediocre and we’re through.
I will remember this game for about 10 Nano seconds, we’re moving into a new chapter on Wednesday, sadly Lowves tell’s me, “Jose is unavailable for the Chelsea game” let’s hope if that’s the case, the guys up front try to prove they can play football and stick it to Chelsea.
Interesting point coming out of Chelsea today, Thiago Silva is not getting on with the other players, I noticed he’s always rollicking them when they mess up, (quite a lot lately)
Hmmmm, he’s Portuguese! And he can play.
Just saying.
He’s Brazilian and 45 (well almost).
Speaks Portuguese then…. 🙁
My bad.
A win is a win but it wasn’t great to watch. I was worried my prediction of 1-1 was going to come true right to the end.
I thought Ruddy, Boly, Coady and Kilman did ok at the back and for now the 3 at the back has to be the way to go until we get in different players who suit a back 4.
The wing backs were poor – too young, too lightweight, too inexperienced.
Midfield was a mixed bag. Vitinha – great goal but little else, Moutinho – dreadful throughout and needs a rest, Dendoncker did ok.
In attack – not sure that’s the right word to use – Cutrone and Silva were truly awful. As Cutrone is off soon that’s fine but Silva? I know he’s young, inexperienced and been thrust into the starting line up way ahead of time but I’m not seeing any evidence of this wonderful potential that justified his price tag. He’s not great in the air, lacks physical strength, has no pace and doesn’t look like a mazy dribbler. So what is he?
Let’s all hope and pray that Willian Jose turns out to be the Messiah and not just another very naughty boy.
OODCL
Silva. 35 million !! As you say he offers nothing. From what I`ve seen so far, he`d struggle to get into a half decent Sunday Pub team.
Yet another example of the gross stupidity of this ridiculous policy of lashing out millions on “One`s for tomorrow ” and ignoring the issues of today
BLF I love that last comment but would defend midfield players who have to play with such inept forwards. I dread to think what Moutinho is privately thinking .
Glad that’s out the way, it was an ugly watch! Vitinha’s goal was great, Ruddy played well, but so many times the front two couldn’t get anywhere. The ball kept coming back off them.
Also the wing backs didn’t look great, too much lost possession. I like Kilman in the team, think he adds a coolness and calmness, he looks the part.
But we dodged a bullet and got business done , albeit, in unconvincing style.
I hope Willian Jose can give us a much needed focal point up front, that should improve us, and start to build up our points total. It’s a nervy and testy experience watching the Wolves at the moment.
Allen has said it all ” But we dodged a bullet and got business done , albeit, in unconvincing style”
Onwards and upwards now chaps, onwards and upwards.
Great result thrashing Chorley. Seem to have turned the corner.
Well done. Silva is a star in the making
We am wolves ay we
And Tesco have got who in the next round ? Oh. No one. You lost to mighty BLACKPOOL.
What’s Tim Buzaglo up to these days?
Thank your lucky stars that your lot weren’t playing them!
I am so relieved that when I click on to Wolves blog that picture of the Tesco bag taking the penalty is now no longer at the top. Chorley was always a potential banana skin. Shit pitch. Massively motivated players. Their cup final. FA cup is littered with giant killings down the years. We should know. I gave the example of non league Lincoln City beating premier league Burnley 1-0 AT Turf Moor just 3 or 4 ago. I take on board we weren’t particularly good but there have been games recently we lost and didn’t deserve to. Its football. In to round 5. Move on.
Yes good job we thrashed them. Always in control and Silva, at £35m, a snip.
Dumped out in the 3rd round by Blackpool. 11 points from 19 in the Prem. It’s going well. Any way did you find out what Tim Buzaglo is up to these days. Woking favourite him.
Football for sure is a funny old game.
If we’d outplayed Chorley (dominance, possession, chances etc) and lost it would have re- opened that old wound…. and been a disaster.
As it was … we were dreadful (and I’m discounting 82% possession in your own half!!)…. and WON.
So as you say Paddy .. two games from Wembley……
We’ll have to be 1000% better than last night though if the dream doesn’t end up a nightmare.
Regrettably I found myself focusing on the negatives from last night…..
Cutrone and Silva were dross… I can sympathise with Cutrone as he’s had no integration or game time with the team for 9 months and little game time in Italy….. as for Silva…. considering he’s had a bit of a run… lightweight , outmuscled, poor touch and very very little impact…. it’s not my money… but we didn’t get much for £35 million.
Moutinho’s legs have gone and Dendoncker was unproductive.
Both wing backs were nervous, had poor distribution and lacked a good cross into the box (sounds like 2 Dracula’s).
Praise for John Ruddy for a very solid MOTM performance…. and well done Chorley….
Us..
Shit performance… great result…
Definitely the result that matters, but this was an opportunity to rehearse the pattern of play and sharpen our game. Last season the flow of passing was so streamlined and precise it was as though each player was attuned to the same mental wavelength. This season we seem to be suffering some terrible interference.
We have never really accommodated extensive team changes effectively and it’s easy to see why Nuno prefers working with a small squad and minimal changes. It’s also easy to see why Nuno prefers to provide a long and careful induction with new signings before disrupting the existing harmony.
Our Two young wing-backs were prime examples of the current lack of defined play strategy. Every time Hoever (clearly a talented player) was on the verge of receiving a pass the melody of the Clash’s tune came into my head ‘Should I stay or should I go’? On average about 50% of the time he made the wrong choice.
This appeared to be repeated pretty well all over the pitch with the result that passes look inaccurate then tentative, confidence suffers and momentum drops. So often players started a one-two passing movement only to find that the intended recipient had either not expected the pass or had not recognised that the passer of the ball was expecting a reurn.
Neto and Ait Nouri was another good example. They both knew that one of them was going to make the galloping over or underlap . The problem was neither knew who that was supposed to be.
One of Nuno’s obvious requirements of new signings is that they have the patience and intellect to learn the playbook and the humility to await the chance to put into operation. Rumours abound that Cutrone lacked the latter. Last night proved he lacked the former, topped by his inability to control the ball. Fabio is young and learning his trade but in-between sessions with his financial advisor he should reflect on the lessons available last night On how to receive a ball, kill it and lay it off accurately. Lessons not from colleagues but the part-time opposition.
Nuno must be frustrated that lack of a pre-season, international commitments and injuries has left last season’s quietly humming Rolls Royce sounding like a 50 year old Hillman Avenger with severe tappet problems. How much of that can be resolved before the summer it’s hard to say.
But in the meantime I would suggest that it is confidence understanding and frustration that is more likely to be the cause of the problem rather than lack of effort.
JackoMac, I bought a brand new Hillman Avenger and it was the worst car I ever owned.
It could never get its power down on the road. Wolverhampton Motor Services were useless
and could never sought it. I changed it for an Austin 2200 land crab which went like a dream.
There’s always been giant killings in the FA Cup and this wasn’t one of them. OK, we weren’t great but we got the job done and that’s what counts.
Everything was set up for an upset. Our confidence is low, it was their Cup Final and the pitch, though I’ve seen worse(credit to their ground staff) was far more suited to their long ball assault than our measured, tippy tappy game.
But we won and with a goal worthy of winning any game. I’ve liked the look of Vitinha in his cameos since he arrived and he did nothing here to dispel my feeling that he should be a regular starter. Cutrone carried on in the same vein as his initial spell with us and the wing backs gave the ball away with commendable generosity.
But we won and we haven’t been able to say that much recently.
I think that describing their play as a long ball assault is doing Chorley a disservice. They played some good stuff ar times and were very dangerous at set pieces.
But we still beat them, so they were not That good!
Ruddy good (thank goodness), I’d say.
True. I take it back.
I know some bloggers are concerned about performances but we have been on a horrendous run so winning no matter how is the most important thing once we get a couple of wins confidence will flood back and so will our performances.
One thing since Nuno took over we have struggled to do and that is win ugly we did that last night and we might need to do that again in the coming weeks that’s not a bad thing when you have been struggling with personal and formations plus injuries.
If we beat Chealea by the say score line and its backs to the wall I won’t be moaning lets get some points on the board get a couple of players back and our new striker bedded in and I sure performances and results will improve.
Just a point on our new striker, FOSUN Jeff thank’s for listening William could be the difference between finishing the season comfortably rather than a relegation battle let’s hope so.
I don’t think that anyone will moan if we win ugly at Chelsea or any of the forthcoming league games but the standard of opposition has to be taken into account. We were entitled to expect much more last night.
I’m loving the calm, reserved, Paul.
Cheers Stu.
So does the wife.
A clean sheet, a great goal, and a win! I should be very happy but when you look a little deeper, that nagging feeling is still there!
Aw well, it could have been much worse, so onwards to Chelsea, who fortunetly, are also struggling!
We got out of jail last night, shambolic performance, midfield is finished now , no legs , no engine moutino, thanks for the memories. SILVIA sorry nothing personal let him go to the stourbridge youth league, we are in big trouble, oh making me drink this time off day, wolves aie we.
Well done to Fosun for addressing the striker issue with what appears to be a loan signing that on the face of it meets the requirements i.e. proven experience, physicality and 1 goal every 3 games strike average. Interesting to see what happens in the remainder of the window. I’m not expecting any further incomings but wouldn’t be surprised to see an outgoing or two. 5 or maybe 6 more wins and then it’s job done for this horrible season. Cup run would be a bonus but either arsenal or saints in the next round will be a very stern test in our current form
The success that we have enjoyed over the past three seasons has come from sticking to a system which was fully understood and applied by all members of the team.
Emphasis was given to solidity at the back, and the ability to break with pace and purpose. We defended as a team. We attacked as a team. We were a pack. We were feared.
For whatever reason Nuno decided to abandon this proven formula. He called it a ‘ transition ‘. I would call it self destruction !
Now, we are no longer a team. We are a group of individuals, who appear not to understand just what the master plan is, or their part in it. That we change our system from game to game just adds to the confusion.
Worse yet, Nuno is attempting this massive change at a time when we are relying on a batch of new young players, acquired at massively inflated prices, who thus far have given little indication of readiness for the demanding standards of the Premier League.
There can be no immediate solution to the self imposed mess in which we now find ourselves, other than to return to basics, and try to grind out results to enable us to survive, whilst we sort ourselves out. It won`t be pretty. But its certainly necessary
Maybe not getting your leg broken ,not getting any other sort of injury and making sure you won was the no 1 priority…. sod how it looks….. we play Chelsea Wednesday.
That makes far more sense to me .
Let’s just pass over last night as job done, no further comment needed.
Huge sigh of relief that we have a proven(?)) experienced striker at last. To me this deal is a win / win as I understand there is an option to buy clause, so if it works we have Raul’s back up and if it doesn’t we ship him back to Spain.
But it needs to work. I am a big believer in Silva’s potential but my word he looked lightweight last night.
Think we’ve probably seen the last of Pasta Boy and if so good luck Patrick wherever you finish up.
So with only Jonny and Podence still on the sidelines maybe things will start to look up.
What about Raul?
This season Tim, don’t be pedantic.
Here we go again.
Possibly the biggest bannana skin that could ever be thrown our way avoided.
And yet the Wolves fans from six plus years ago are out in force, bitching and moaning and generally doing their best to convince everyone that we are crap, we are doomed and basically the world is at an end.
Get fuckin’ real people!
To win a war, you have to win battles, and we won a huge one yesterday.
Yes, we lost to the shit, but their war this season is already over, whilst ours is gearing up for a good, winning second half.
Yes, blinkered folk, we are only at half time in the season, in the fifth round of the cup and NOT in the bottom three.
Yes, there is room for improvement, as always, but for dog’’s sake, give our team a break and get off their backs.
Lack of supporters is a huge loss, especially for our guys used to the roof shaking crescendos of The Mol, which would have seen us much more comfortable playing in recent matches.
Think of yourselves in lockdown and how the same situation is affecting our guys.
Let’s be real. The workd is upside down at the moment and until we get some sort of normality back, football is going to be the same.
We won last night.
Clean sheet.
Some good performances, some not so good, and some awful.
Our Management team see the same games we see ( unless they watch hesgoal with all the stoppages!) and know what needs to be remedied, so let’s be happy with the result, stop all the bitching and show our undying support for OUR team.
FOwb
Agreed, it says 1-0 in the record books and we’re in the 5th round. Who knows with a new striker and a fully fit squad we might even win it.
Spot on Clive, spot on..
Maybe having a somewhat depressed coach around every day during practice and game time is not the best thing in the world for team morale.
I’m thinking that may be the cause of Moutinho’s sudden lack of class.
Maybe send Nuno back to Portugal to be with his family and bring someone in as a temporary coach. Jeff seems to know everything about football so he could be a great choice.
(Note: I’m only joking about you being the temporary coach, Jeff)
Glad you aren’t suggesting sacking him Tim.
Would also like 40 points in the board before granting a sabbatical.
Benitez is available again. He quit his job. Just a coincidence?
So you do want sack Nuno – very, very premature.
And anyway, Benitez is a has been and always throws his toys away.
Whereas Nuno still maintains hi dignity (except when it comes to Lee Mason).
Now we have a proper striker, most of our ills will be overcome as long as we don’t sell anyone other than Cuitrone.
That was a difficult watch and more so as I felt the lads were on the edge of showing a lack of confidence which can be fatal from a football perspective; nothing a couple of wins can’t put right.
Yes, Cutrone and Silva were not good, but even in the first half, they were making good runs and receiving nothing. In my view, the main problem stemmed from midfield and the lack of effective wide players; creativity was zilch.
We are a couple of players away from being an effective team at the moment, but having a go at an eighteen year old who still has the physique and strength of a youngster is unfair as most seem to realise and he does need to be fed into games more sensitively; not anyone’s fault, although many of us did think the lack of cover for Jimenez was obvious.
Like United were I also think we are missing a truly creative spark in midfield like Maddison, Fernandes or Winks.
For me, I think we need to revert to our three at the back system, which we seem happier with defensively and we, at least, have the experience to alter if necessary. Having settled wing backs would also help.
Worrying was the fact that we had so few shots on target and chances; maybe the lack of the three guys who came on late, bolstering the wide positions and distribution from the middle , was a telling fact as to that aspect of the game.
Boly was more like his old self, which was a positive and Ruddy looked really solid and was a formidable presence. It was also nice to see a tremendous goal which swerved well enough to put the keeper on the wrong foot. And it’s great news to see Wilian Jose on his way; let’s hope he can fit the bill; right age and height, let’s hope the attitude is good.
All makes perfect sense DW apart from using the words creative and Winks in the same sentence.
Seriously though I think the signing of aa proper striker will make a huge difference and also take the weight off Neto’s still very young shoulders as being the main focal point of attack
‘Winks’ bit of a glitch in the brain dept. I meant Mason Mount, but some would regard him not so highly. I am hopeless at names in general; old age making this tendency even worse.
Excellent summing up DW- Nuno, in starting 7 reserves, clearly considered the lineup to be adequate to beat a non league side and so it turned out. He gave fringe players a welcome opportunity for game time with the necessary experience on the bench to rescue the game of need be. The problems, as you say, were in a non creative midfield- the strikers made run after run and no one was willing to risk the right pass to them. The youngsters at WB had no forward options- no wonder the ball kept being played back. We left so many attackers unmarked at set pieces I still wonder we weren’t punished- this is an aspect which showed no improvement on recent games, only weaker opposition who could not take advantage. I hope we are not throwing too much pressure on Jose’s shoulders before he even lands, this is a huge ask to lead the line in a very competitive PL – the usual suspects will be on his case unless he does a ‘ Doog’ and scores a hat trick on debut. Give him 3/4 games before he gets the forensic treatment. I am still preparing myself for it to get worse until Podence, Jonny and Marcel are back. Experience will get us out of a relegation scrap.
Well said Debenham. Silva did not agree to such a large fee . It was never anticipated that he should be thrust in at this stage. Wolves’ Management is culpable for never having a
cover for Raul.
Last night we looked like a side completely devoid of confidence.
Silva and Cutrone linked up like a broken chain but never really got any service from our ‘creative’ players. Moutinho was particularly ‘Unmoutinholike’ (?) constantly misplacing passes and ‘The Hoover’ didn’t seem very keen to sweep up into Chorley’s half of the pitch.
My advice to Fabio is to get in the gym and don’t come out until he looks more like Adama than a Llama. (What?).
There were occasional glimpses of promise but Chorley looked the better side for much of the game.
When Traore, Neto and Neves came on I thought “Right, this is where we tear them apart”.
But we didn’t.
Willy Boly was named MOTM on BT Sport but my vote goes to John Ruddy.
Solid as a rock and made some top class saves.
I see we’re up against Southampton in Round 5.
Some work needed before that. And a big infusion of confidence required.
Chelsea might just be the game we need. They are suffering almost as much as we are.
And Frank is on the brink.
Let’s push him over the edge.
This season is a complete mystery to me. Far fewer games than last season and yet many more injuries.
A lack of effort and aggression and an inability to manage games the way we’ve become used to. And the disciplined organisation that has become Nunos trademark seems to have deserted us. Got to believe that skill is permanent and form is temporary. Especially now that a new front player can hopefully provide the added impetus we need right now.
If we are having trouble defending set-pieces, might be an idea to get someone in the net who can command the box.
He should be able to reach well above the heads of the opposition players in the box to punch the ball away if not catch it.
Mmmmmmmm. I know shall we call him a goalkeeper!!
Nah, call him a pineapple ring!!
Or a Cupid Stunt
No, because that’s what we call Rui.
Fantastic goal with a last sec swerve
Other than that plus marvellous Ruddy’s save we embarrassed with our football or lack of it.
I’m now fed up with Silva.. almost like a Nuno wind up….
depressed with our demise but excited regarding our new guy..worried about Traore going as he’s the assist to the no 9 spot or even spots if Jimenez plays eventually with
Jose..
Clives right….2nd half of the season to go and expect a miracle..
Demise ?
Miracle?
I am glad I don’t see it the way you do.
Read stuff above Steve I’m not the only one disillusioned..
You can’t use a 1-0 win against Chorley as significant… we could hardly pass the ball some times..
We are a shadow of the side we once were but at least our new guy Jose will at least replace Silva..
A win’s a win
Fair play to Chorley, they went about their business and made life difficult for us. Our midfield struggled to get a foot on the ball but Vitinha’s strike was worth the nearly two hours of my life alone. Silva was anonymous and hopefully with the new signing will be taken out of the firing line to hone his obvious talent as per the original plan.
Cutrone didn’t quite manage to hit the heady heights of anonymity with a truly awful performance. I’m convinced there’s a player in there somewhere but do we have the time to dig it out?
The brightest spot for me was Ruddy. I think he bring so much more to the table than the reflex stops provided by Rui who adds pressure to the defenders whether it’s a four or five at the back.
If I believed in a higher power I’d say they had us picked out for the cup to compensate for a crappy league showing this season. Although Southampton might have something to say about that.
Just seen mega bucks Citeh struggle to overcome mid table division 4 Cheltenham. it’s the FA Cup. It’s what happens.
Mid table stretching it, but I get your point although Chorley are a bunch of part timers and a couple of divisions beneath Cheltenham.
Are you a Wolves fan or just a twat?
Easy now, Cheesy!
I think he’s a Wolves fan mate.
I’m paranoid Doog. The s***te have been infiltrating. The enemy within.
Well I’ve read loads of your posts and some are very humorous (pre match). Others are clearly written when you are rather intoxicated. Learn how to take your drink or abstain!
Well, Mit, I thought that your comments were accurate and pertinent. I’d say that there’s no call for such a ridiculous reaction. They do say, though, that it takes one to know one. Apology is called for.
That’s rather over the top.
Learn how to temper your acid tongue I would offer.
Do I assume that ‘Mit’ is the backward version of our ‘Tim’? No offence meant to anyone!
And my name spelled backwards is:
Evil C
Beware!
What someone or anyone for that matter chooses to do socially is their own personal business and of no concern to anyone else.
Folk should keep their own counsel, non of us are squeaky clean in all aspects of our lives.
It’s not acceptable criticising anyone’s social and private life on this blog or anywhere for that matter.
So it’s acceptable to call someone a twat then? Get a grip.
In your case I think it’s very acceptable.
I’d say that I’m in my rights to respond accordingly if someone calls me an offensive name. I wasn’t going to let it ride.
Alfonso, Mit ? ?
I agree, 100% correct.
But casting up what someone does socially is not appropriate. The blog is wonderful for all things Wolves and banter. But I’m sorry, but that comment was stepping over a line.
If you attended any of the Blog Ball bashes you would have seen these people in their true colours, some stay sober, some get drunk, others get very drunk, but the main thing is they are all very nice people.
Bit like Woking 1991
Let’s stop all this negativity supported wolves all my life it’s in my DNA bad and good times 4th division sherpa van final Cardiff final , have a virtual drink on me wolves aie we love u bloggers.
We won next round .
Forever Wolves
It’s the FA CUP, the greatest competition ever invented, the opportunity for all the little clubs to make all the Premier teams look as sh**e as the sh**te.
Playing in the 5th round is better than getting knocked out in the 4th, ok so we only just managed it but we did.
Always WOLVES
The epitomy of how to win ugly. Job done. Now move on to a very winnable tie at home to the Saints.
I’m sorry, but I can’t believe this review. Rose -tinted spectacles or what!
Our performance, against part-timers, was dire and nothing short of a disgrace.
We had 1 shot all match – fortunately a screamer, whereas Ruddy saved against the amateurs on at least 4 occasions.
Cutrone was non-existent, and Fabio’s first touch was bloody awful, everything bounced off him.
Thankfully we have signed a real striker in Willian Jose.
We have gone from a top 6 team to relegation fodder in one foul swoop thanks to Raul’s fracture (+ injuries to others -both first choice wing backs and Daniel Podence.)
The sales of Jota and Doherty seem more and more nonsensical now.
Time to get real I’m afraid and hope there are at least 3 others worse than us/ or Jose comes good.
Why don’t you bitch about the sale of Robbie Keene, or Bully retiring?
Or The Doog, or any one of hundreds of past deals?
Why keep harping on and flogging the dead horse that is the sales of Jota and Doherty?
Fuckin’ get over it!
Done and dusted!
Never to return!
Move on, for dog’s sake, and get behind the team instead of constantly complaining, like some little kid who’s lost his lolly.
Just about had enough of all the whingers and Monday morning managers, and all the fuckin’ experts on here and elsewhere.
The team are not trying to lose, just to piss you off.
Nuno is not urging players to play badly, just so you can constantly have something to bitch about.
Let’s see some positive waves for a fuckin’ change, instead of all this pissin’ negativity.
And no, I haven’t even started drinking………..yet!
Never return? Remember our very own Zico did. Now there’s a full back who knew how to put his opposing winger in row z!
Probably never stopped.
Just a joke.
Busted!!
Get in there Clive. F**k the whingers and moaners off. Where were they under Lamberk protecting a 1-0 lead v Rotherham ? I dont know. Just a suggestion.
Personally, I think it’s a good thing that whingers and moaners have somewhere to complain about whingers and moaners.
Would this blog be a better place if everyone agreed?
We come here to share our pain and celebrate our joy. Neither of which we have any control over as far as Wolves are conerned.
Why not just live and let live?
A little civility goes a long way.
Agreed. But I was looking at social media the other night Chorley and the sheer negativity and sarcasm towards Wolves by Wolves fans just made me depressed. The negative vitriol was quite something to behold. By so called fans. But hey. Let’s draw a line under it and move on.
Shocking as it might seem, not everyone loves the Wolves quite as much as we do.
Just because most of us would turn out in the Old Gold for free, or even pay for the privilege, these are professionals, paid to do a job, who have to make their money and take their opportunites when they can.
Jota had the chance of Champions League football. Can you really blame him for wanting to go to Liverpool when they came calling? Good luck to him.
Doherty? Not so sure. I think he owed Nuno (and Wolves) a lot more and going to Tottenham always looked like a sideways move to me. Perhaps the money was so much better.
I’m sure Nuno would have loved to have kept both Jota and Doherty but they were tempted away. You can’t make players stay, and perform well, if they want out .
In what way is this ‘nonsensical’?
Kinda says it all.
We won ugly. Soton next.
We move on.
Wolves ay we.
SUPPORTER : ” A person who approves of or encourages”
Fan: “Fickle as F**k!”.
Now that made me smile. Thank you.
Fans can be as fickle as they want to be. I remember Peter Bodak getting a hat trick for Crewe at Molineux about 1985 /1986. They won 3-2. Jackie Gallaher hat trick for Peterborough as they thrashed us 3-0 New Year Day 1987.
So to me a 1-0 win at Chorley is quite an improvement. But like you say fans can be fickle. . It’s all subjective as to whatever fans feel is good or bad. I cant argue with that.
Thomas.
Last night Clive asked me to post a joke on the blog which mentioned him in.
I put it up straight away and let him know.
It has now been taken down.
Did you remove it?
Stu
Stu I’v found it for you!!!
Clive was walking down the street in Houston dragging two plastic garbage bags. One bag had a hole in it and $20 bills were flying out of it.
A policeman stopped him and said, “Sir, you’re losing a lot of bills from that bag.”
“Bugger!” he said, “Thanks for the warning. I’ll go back and pick them up.”
“Hold on there! Where’d all that money come from? Did you steal it?”
“Oh, no,” he said. “My yard backs up on the stadium parking lot and, after games, a lot of guys use my flower beds as toilets. So I stand behind a bush with my electric hedge clipper and when one is in mid-stream, I fire up the trimmer and say: ‘$20 or off it comes!'”
“Wow. Good idea!” laughed the cop. “But what’s in the other bag?”
“Well,” said Clive, “not all of them pay up!”
Happy Birthday to Nu
Happy Birthday to Nu
Happy Birthday dear Nuno
And Adama T too!
Lampard sacked, Thomas Tuchel expected to take over.
Bloody marvellous couldn’t wait till Thurs could they?
Interesting clip from papers today…..
Makes sense of these crazy moves of late.
(Also been told that, Mendes is working on bringing in “a Vibrant, exciting midfielder” before close of play) hope so because our Moutinho is off the boil at the moment.
Papers……
Following the official arrival of Willian José at Wolverhampton Wanderers, the use of bringing back Patrick Cutrone from his loan at Fiorentina has run its course.
The Italian striker made a handful of sub appearances in the Premier League, as well as starting the FA Cup game against Chorley FC, but despite their initial £20m or so expenditure, there is little future for him at Molineux.
*That’s why the idea of sending him back on loan to another club, in a year where FIFA have allowed playing for three different teams, makes the most sense.*
Parma in Serie A are willing to take advantage of this, which we’ve already covered a number of times, and Corriere dello Sport believe they’re getting closer to acquiring his services.
The issue with Cutrone is how much can we get for him if it is a sale or a loan with a firm sale option for the loaning club.
Would it make more sense just to loan him out and see if he can regain his reputation and drive up his value? Now it is not at its peak.
I see Ryan Giles has been recalled from loan as well. Interesting as I think he was getting a fair bit of playing time in a championship side. I wonder if marcal is likely to be out for rest of season and he has been brought back as cover or perhaps they are looking to permanently sell Giles and have buyer lined up.
Or is Traore off to Liverpool!!!
Is Giles a holding winger until a newbie comes in.
(Only a theory, no positive proof.)
I hope your theory is wrong ! He can supply the crosses for Jose………
Just the musings. Of an old man.
I think he is on the left side.
We have loads who can play right side.
Yes, but I thought you meant he would take Traore’s spot if he left and Traore plays on the right side.
Neto, and even Semedo, Hoever can all operate on the right.
Three midgets are arguing over who is the smallest.
The first one says, “well I definitely have the smallest hands ever.”
The second one says, “yeah, but my feet are even tinier.”
The third one says, “maybe so, but I have the littlest dick in the world. I’m hung like a light switch. Let’s head down to the guiness book of world records and settle this once and for all.”
When they arrive at Guinness HQ the first one goes in, and after a few minutes, walks out and says, “that’s it. I’m in the book. Smallest hands in the world!”
The second one goes in, walks out and proudly announces, “check me out! Smallest feet ever!”
The third one goes in, walks out of the office and asks, “Who ‘s this Clive from Houston?!”
????
Six out of seven midgets are not Clive from Houston.
So tonights talk shite radio tale from the idiot durham is that the vile stand a great chance of breaking into the top 4 !!!!!!!!! not top half top 4 !
They put two goals past a completely lost the plot newcastle team now they are going to break up the top 4 !!!!!
Yet the other night when they played a proper side ( man city ) they were dog damn lucky not to have had 6 put past em !
nothing else to listen to while sweating
To be fair Vile are having a good season. They made some decent signings. But yeah Talk Sport seem to find teams they love as time goes by. I believe Wolves were held aloft for a while as a shining example. But on we go.
Any way. Hoorah England cricket team for the 2-0 win in Sri Lanka. Brilliant result. I was there in 2012 . Stood up on the fort Great view of the cricket ground. India 4 test matches will be difficult. Next up.
What a win that was!
And what a bootiful ground!
Did you wave a Wolves flag when you were up on the fort?
