The 2-1 triumph over Chelsea in December was a crucial turning point in the season.
Wolves had gone two months without a win and questions were rightly being asked about whether Nuno and the squad had the tactical dexterity to compete in the Premier League.
Plan A wasn’t working and Plan B had yet to be presented, but a fine comeback victory under the Molineux floodlights restored belief and showed the team could find a different way
It’s testament to the head coach and his players that we now head to Stamford Bridge knowing the lowest we’ll sink this weekend is 8th (and even that relies on Watford getting a result at the Etihad).
Chelsea
A big win over Spurs and a hard-fought victory over Fulham have afforded Maurizio Sarri much-needed respite.
It remains difficult to imagine him keeping his job though should they fail to make the top four or go all the way in the Europa League.

A transfer ban has come at the wrong time as their talented squad looks like it could do with refreshing in the summer to keep pace with the other juggernauts.
Eden Hazard seems certain to leave, which is a blow to their immediate aspirations (not to mention the Premier League) should he make the anticipated switch to Real Madrid.
He’s a wonderful talent and even in defeat at Molineux was the one player who continually looked dangerous every time he had possession.
Even with the Belgian though, 49 goals scored isn’t really enough to compete with the elite and that’s something they’ll need to address next season. Higuain looks a good immediate solution though.

The home end
Some comments lifted from the match thread on a popular Chelsea forum:
If all goes our way ManU and Arse draw and we get 3 points. Wolves are definitely no pushover and I think the boys will need to play their best.
Need to be at our best to beat Wolves tbh, they have been sensational this season and probably the best team outside the top 6.
It is crucial we take this one very seriously, especially with
Most of our remaining away fixtures look tricky so we really need to make sure we pick up wins in our home games to give ourselves a chance of top 4. Wolves have had a very good season but we really need to win games like this if we have any hope of finishing top 4. That being said it comes after a tough trip to Kiev so no doubt our players will be weary, especially towards the last 30 minutes of the game. I hope we rotate sensibly over the next couple of weeks as we really need to keep the players as fresh as possible. I ca see this being another close game. If we manage to win it will probably be another case where we have to grind out a result.
Wolves
There’s some serious guesswork involved now with who will play this weekend ahead of the quarter final next Saturday.

We know Bennett is out and I believe it’s been confirmed Patricio is back in goal, but there are other decisions to be made.
With Saiss likely to drop into the back three, I think Neves will get a start after being rested against Cardiff. I don’t think Gibbs-White will be trusted at Stamford Bridge so Moutinho may also come back into the team.
Traore did well but it’s a big ask for him to go and play wing-back against Hazard so I think he might get a turn up front with Jota saved for next weekend.
Vinagre deserves to keep his place but we’ll see what happens there. Honestly, I have no idea what the thinking will be from our illustrious leader but as always, I trust his judgement.

No surprise that it was a points bonanza in the Prediction League after seeing off Cardiff with most people correctly forecasting victory.
The
With his 3 point haul, WolvoDave opens up a 2 point lead at the top of the overall table so extra well
As always you can join in by leaving your prediction for this game in the comment section below, which is where you’ll also find my best guess.
Up The Wolves!

The away fans you’ve quoted from the Chelsea forum are certainly getting their excuses in early by claiming their team will be tired “after a tough trip to Kiev”…not sure of Chelsea’s exact route to their match this evening but going via Ukraine to get to Stamford Bridge seems a bit excessive.
I think Dendoncker should replace Bennett because he is right footed.
I think the other players should be played as normal with Saiss being the third midfielder. I wouldn’t be disappointed if Vinagre got a start, though.
Not sure if Traore’s play was better than Jota’s two point game.
Nothing sweeter than winning in that shit hole London.
If Traore doesn’t start, I hope he gets at least half an hour ,
If we are still in the game around the hour mark he could give Chelsea plenty of headache and we could go on to win it, I’ll take a score draw now though
Utw
agree about traore but only if we’re chasing a win. and he comes on for doherty
Depends on which chelski show up…and which wolves.
Whatever, Its a great tune up
for the two games vs manure…the key will be to not
concede in the first half, so sit deep and rely on mounthno and Neves and the BFB to match their midfield and keep Hazard at bay…then can we get a breakaway shot in the net?
Heart says we can get 1-1 but won’t be shocked if they just have enough to shade it
Yes, as with any game could be one of 3 results, if we exclude match abandoned…these are the kind of games we need to get a result if we’re going to be a top side, and don’t forget Chelsea were having an abysmal time until a few weeks ago. Wolves on the other hand have been improving, particularly in the goal scoring department and we have the 5th best defence. Strong chance of a Wolves win for me.
Heroic display . Gutted at the end. But 1-1 would have took it. This is why you look at fans forums like Chelsea Man Utd and they generally give us huge respect
I agree with Dendonker in place of Bennett because of the right foot scenario. I thought initially Saiss but he is definitely a one foot man (L)
If we can hold them up a while then bring Traore on,I fancy us to nick it from some tired legs at the end.
Chelsea 0
Wolves 1
LOVE A WIN, TAKE A DRAW, PREDICT A LOSS…
We can win this if we take our chances, and to be honest we missed a few against Cardiff! We won’t be so fortunate against Chelsea. But if we play well and have a bit of luck we can certainly win! Big fan of Torare’s potential, and while I don’t think he will start, I really hope he comes on early in the second half! He is overdue for a goal. Keep the game tight and and it is winnable!!
Two years ago we were in danger of getting dragged into a second division relegation fight, and we managed to somehow stay in that wonderful league.
It was the first year of Fosun, and there were doubters beginning to come out of the woodwork.
We could only dream of Premiership football.
Now what is coming up in the next few weeks?
Chelsea, Arsenal and a couple of games against Manchester United.
Pinch myself time.
Even if we lose every match from now until May, it has still been a fantastic season, which none of the so called experts predicted.
Only us.
We saw the Nuno revolution begin with a win over promotion “certainties” Middlesbro in the first game.
They finished where?
We watched and cheered and marvelled at the style, panache and sheer brilliance of the football served up, and through it all, Nuno’s Golden Grin.
We knew something special was beginning.
Long may these experts keep up their accurate forecasts, and long may our opponents underestimate us.
Colin certainly did last week.
Chelsea are shit.
They went several matches without scoring, getting royally turned over by Bournmouth, United and City, without scoring!!
And in David Louis they have a defender to rival Stephen Ward in uselessness.
He got found out in the World Cup semi final a few years ago, and has gone downhill since.
Three points for the taking this weekend, no worries.
I’m sick with the flu and will be missing running my half marathon on Sunday, so I’ll watch the Wolves live instead. Not all bad!
Looking forward to a great game and an even better result.
Let’s go Wanderers!
Chelski are bound to be tired. You know, like Spurs were when we beat them on their own patch (not been tired since though, have they?) (funny that!).
However, we don’t need them to be tired for us to beat them. We have it in us to win anyway, as we showed them in December, and as we know, we’re better away sometimes.
They have players that can hurt any team, but we have a team that can hurt any team and if we can reach once more the heights we have within us, then three points will be ours.
Only five premier league away games left, transport arranged for all of them, one on the coach, two on the train and driving or shotgun for the rest, match tickets for Chelsea and Burnley already obtained, the remainder as and when they come out. All of these with Mrs Lowves and the company of the lovely Jen de wolf ( I think Stuwolf may be tagging along too). Hotel in Southampton for the league match and also one booked in Uxbridge for the weekend of the Cup Final (not joking, cocky or what?)
Warm weather training for 10 days booked in Malta for the international break to get our vitamin D and energy levels up for the run in.
After the no show at Huddersfield Nuno sorted it out as we all thought he would do, it’s no good saying we have only lost one in however many games what’s the problem?, there was a problem, we saw there was a problem, Nuno saw there was a problem and he fixed the problem, it just reinforces my belief in the man and his ability to coach at the highest level, trip to Barcelona anyone?
On to Sunday and I shall scweeeem if anyone says the Chelsea game is a ‘free hit’ meaning it doesn’t matter if we win or not, it always matters to me.
It’s a winnable game, hard but very winnable, they have some world class players, but we have a world class team.
We have beat some of the so called elite teams this season, Chelsea included, and I think we can put one over on them. We also have the added advantage of having three substitutes. Their team refuse to be substituted! Arrogant prima donnas!
So all in all I reckon we will win 2.0
To be fair Lowves, Sunday is a free hit and it does’nt really matter if we win or not does it…..
Pregnant pause….
Come on Bonnie give us your bestest scweem.
Bloody hell I’m bored.
Roll on Sunday.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Call that a scweem?
Sorry Doog best I could do on the spur of the moment, I did a much better one last week when I got my old man stuck in my zip, my eyes are still watering!!!
Tough game but this the 1 team I want us to beat as my son many years ago decided to follow them and I have had loads of grief over the years. So come on wolves double over Chelsea and a cup final would make it an ok season 2-1 wolves
Bad parenting! They won’t know what’s hit them after the liquidator!
Got it wrong last week with the prediction however so pleased I did …..Cardiff were awful and are going back to the Championship…. team selection will be interesting on Sunday …..distribution from the right side of the pitch has never been brilliant from Bennett despite his magnificent defending and it will be interesting to see who ever plays in the position fares in that respect …..one of the web site commentators has suggested play Doherty and Traore on the right ,the former as the right side of the back 3 …. there’s a certain amount of logic behind the idea as Chelsea only usually play 1 upfront, probably Higuain, and would make a very interesting combination on this side
Whoever makes the starting 11 I believe we can get a result which should wind up my brothers buddies nicely who are taking him and his son to the game for some corporate hospitality …..lucky bastard
To the locals choking on their cucumber sandwiches by 4.00 pm …..
Sound like a broken record here but I’m confident as ever going into Sunday. Think at least a point is there for the taking. Not too worried about Chelsea at all – can you believe as a Wolves fan we’re saying that!
Genuinely believe one of/or both Chelsea and Arsenal risk dropping out of the top six in the next couple of years. Both teams are spending less and less, especially Arsenal, and it’s showing in their decline.
I get what people are saying about the Donck playing at RCB, due to him being right-footed, but Saiss has filled in for Boly in defence recently, and has looked relatively comfortable. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, could a couple of top draw performances from Saiss see Bennett’s place at risk? I’ve the utmost respect for how Bennett has adapted and developed under Nuno, but we all know, including Nuno, that he can only go to a certain level.
I don’t think there will be any other changes to the usual starting line-up. If it wasn’t a top six team like Chelsea, then I could have seen Vinagre starting again, but we need Jonny in there for this one.
The fantastic relationship Jota and Raul have struck up, I’d be loathe to break that, even if our biggest game of the season is next weekend!
Maybe let Traore run free on the counter in the last 20 minutes, especially if we’re in the lead and Chelsea are piling forward.
UTW!
Beg to differ, but our biggest game of the season will be on May 18th, at Wembley!
A stray thought entered my tiny mind yesterday, that we beat Crystal Palace 2 – 0 in the Final.
You heard it first here on Fantasy Island!!
Haha liking your thinking Clive!
Think we’ll do a Wigan and beat City in the last minute!
As well as we have played so far this season, I think it will be a defeat for us. We’ve come a long way, but playing away against the big boys is still a step too far…………at the moment.
With all due respect Adrian
We are one of the big boys
Utw
Just like Tottenham, Arsenal and Man U were steps too far. Onl6Man City was3and that’s because we were down to 10 men.
Can’t wait to stop the Scousers winning the league last game.
Can I remind you of Spurs back in December!!! The Arse were lucky to scrape a draw too.
Just like Tottenham, Arsenal and Man U were steps too far. Only Man City was and that’s because we were down to 10 men.
Can’t wait to stop the Scousers winning the league last game.
Obviously a tricky game but hoping for, indeed expecting, a win.
Regarding selection if Doc goes to right side of back three Jonny could come over to the right also, leaving Vinagre build on his good performance of last week.
I never forget those smarmy Chelski fans in Western before the home game . Would love to have seen there faces when they left the Mol completely humiliated.
Agree with Dendonker in for Bennett. I remember seeing Saiss trying to play in that position in the pre season friendly against Villa Real. He didn’t look comfortable at all.
I would play Gibbs White as a false 9 and have Jota and Jimmy upfront . Also agree with Traore . His pace will frighten the life out of David Luiz & Co.
Pundits are against us. So I will go for a win . Fook em wim Wolves ay we !

It’s funny how certain things stick in your mind isn’t it – often for no apparent reason.
My first visit to Stamford Bridge for a Chelsea v Wolves game was in April 1968. My Uncle Bob got us the tickets via his contacts as he worked in Fleet Street and when we met up with him outside the ground I can always remember him saying “I’ve just seen a right cracker walk past me but not sure who she supported as she had a Chelsea rosette AND a Wolves rosette, one on each Charlie!”. I was only 11 years old and was a bit embarrassed I think and have no idea why I still remember that comment nearly 51 years later.
That game, a 0-1 defeat thanks to a last minute Peter Osgood goal, was just the 9th time I had seen Wolves play – all in London. Chelsea v Wolves then became an annual outing for me right through till 1976. There were a lot of draws in there – 5 of the 9 games – and some great memories including Kenny Hibbitt scoring the very first goal of his Wolves career in what was his full debut. A midweek 2-0 win in the 1970’s also sticks out. The last time I went there was the December 1976 thrilling 3-3 draw with both teams in the 2nd Division though Wolves finished as Champions and Chelsea as runners-up. I left with ten minutes to go with us leading 3-1 in order to miss the crush but ended up being caught up in a pitched battle between Chelsea and Spurs fans at an underground station. Happy days!
This Sunday myself and BOG are lucky enough to have tickets so I will enjoy my 10th visit to Stamford Bridge.
If you are going look out for us. We will be the ones who look like a right pair of Charlies!
Wolves to win 2-0 and maintain our unbeaten record in London this season.
OODCL
Hey Bedford, 1976 was the first season I started going to wolves games alone, as a big 13 year old , I remember the home game against Chelsea.
It’s taken a while but we are now back on an almost even keel so back in with a chance of winning every game again, just as we weee in 76
Have a great day and let Bedford old gold know we’re all missing his posts
Utw
Yes indeed Bedders and BOG… I gave to a good cause and got loads of grief….
Obviously your a breast man of fifty one years and still looking, for rosette . Have a great day on Sunday Bedders, star man.
Great record in the capital this season if we play with the confidence shown against Cardiff we will win, Chelsea will be more nervous than us, and how dare they say in a pole they had the Liquidator first Harry J And The Allstars.
Those lucky enough to be going, drown the cockneys out with the Wolves version.
Do you move Donk to the back three because a) he’s right footed and b) Saiss had a blinder in midfield on Sat?
Or do you keep him in the centre and task him with closing down Jorginho ?
Idk but have confidence in the manager as always.
Sadly Morata is no longer a blue so we won’t be able to see Boly boot him into our net again and get off scott-free! 😀
We are having a great 1st season back where we truly belong. We’ve done pretty well also when playing in the smoke. That, l feel, will be continued by us taking a point home. Yes, 3 would be great, but I’d be happy with the one.
Got to be positive, but I’ll settle for the draw.
To all the she wolfs and other half’s
Have a great international women’s day
Utw
Apparently it was supposed to be yesterday but they took too long getting ready.
😉
OODCL
Haha
I’ll hit madam with that one tomorrow
After I’ve got the ironing pile down
Ohh that’s a bit below the belt Bedders!! I’ll have you know in this house I’m the one waiting for the men to get ready!!!!!
Come to think of it even the dogs are boys. I’m outnumbered!!!
A win ? Why not ? Sarri is feeling the pressure and the tactic of man- marking Jorginho out of the game is now commonly used.
Huge respect to Saiss, but he’s been tried at right-side central defence on more than one occasion and been found wanting so for me its the Donck in for Bennett, Saiss in midfield. No reason not to start with Jota given that we have been using him conservatively and have several options from the bench. Like the idea of using Vinagre off the bench to really take the game to Chelsea.
Don’t know why but got a sneaky feeling we could win this one. I agree with Donk in he back 3 and let Saiss keep Jorginho in his pocket, he loses the ball under any pressure and I can see this being where a goal comes from.
Be a shame for Traore not to be given another go at RWB but must remember Hazard will be on that side.
2-1 Wolves
Chelsea have picked up off late, so will be difficult to get anything at the bridge, I think we will have to much of a eye on the cup game, so going for a defeat, hope they prove me wrong, good luck boys
Usual old shit , can’t get a ticket for a game on my doorstep
Love to have took my eldest son to this , it’s his birthday and he’s properly fallen in love with the Wolves
Sign of the times I suppose
But I’ve earned the right to moan if nothing else
I quite like Chelsea.. they play good football and the supporters that j know have a good attitude… spurs and arsenal seem to think they’re entitled to win every game
Saying that though, can’t see anything other than a win for the mighty Wolves
They have some outstanding players and seem to be getting back on their game lately. We will have no fear after beating them earlier in the season though I think we might have caught them on a bad day, let’s hope they have another one on Sunday!
It will be interesting to see how we line up for this and who will replace Bennett at the back. Nuno has shown that he is more than willing to change things these days, so there may be a surprise or two in our lineup.
I think this will be hard to win but we can get a draw and I would take that.
Like us, Chelsea can be a bit of an enigma.
Who’s going to turn up this weekend?
They’ll be a bit tired after their midweek travels.
We’ll be fully fit and raring to go.
Darling Daveeeed Louise might have a bad hair day – mind you, if Traore plays that will even things up.
Nuno will have to decide whether to prioritise this, or next week’s game against Ollie’s lot. Difficult one that.
All things considered I fancy us to get a draw. They ARE suspect in defence and we HAVE got the pace to upset most back lines.
Keep Hazard quiet and we’ve got a good chance. Simple isn’t it?.
Whatever happens, we’ve still got next Saturday to look forward to.
And I, for one, just can’t wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
‘Tired after their midweek travels’ DG??
It ain’t far for them to Stamford Bridge. And their game didn’t tire them too much. Dynamo Kiev were rubbish.
Maybe I should have said ‘travails’.
That’s predictive text for you, or just slipshod blogging.
I wish I had ‘predictive Wolves results’ on my mac – I might be nearer the top of the league.
Full of hope – if not confidence.
But a score draw would be an excellent outcome.
Just thinking that if Nuno really wants to put Traore back in to start this week, maybe a 3-4-3 shape would be appropriate.
As I suggested before, he can drive to the goalline and make crosses. It would be like mini-corners.
Living in Chelsea is the rather feeble excuse for a Wolves fan like me having two season tickets at Stamford Bridge. It’s also a bit of a racket as my business pays for me to go and watch football if I take the occasional client. It’s one thing watching Chelsea play any team other than Wolves and politely celebrating when Chelsea win. It’s another thing when Wolves are back in town. Feels like a sad past life when I last saw us at the Bridge. Autumn 2012 I think, League Cup, Solbakken in charge and we lost 6-0. We also had our supposed potential £100mil youngster, Zeli Ismali or someone, playing. Obviously frightened the life out of Chelsea! Solbakken probably thought the game was a free hit, so he rested our so-called stars. It shows the danger in this sort of thinking as the rot set in and we had a repeat relegation.
I wouldn’t want to consider Sunday’s game as a free hit, psychologically. I want us to go out and do our level best to win it and in fact to really believe we have a chance. I’m happy for Donk to replace Bennett. Traore is not yet a 90-minute player, so an extended cameo for him. Saiss has to play. As a regular watcher of Chelsea I’m not overly impressed with Hazard of late. I am impressed with Higuain though. Chelsea might just be saving themselves for the trip to Kiev next week, but we will have a tough time on Sunday. They will be hurting for losing to us at The Mol. They underestimated us once and won’t repeat that. I’m forecasting a frenetic draw, probably 2-2.
Feel your pain dances
I’ve been in the smoke 30 yrs . £1.60 on the south bank is a different universe let a lone a different life
Unfortunately it’s for ever
In Chelsea hospitality areas they don’t allow ‘open support for the opposition team’. You can be asked to leave. I took a Liverpool supporter once, and Liverpool were playing Chelsea off the pitch. He celebrated a goal and was given a warning by a steward. It’s going to be tricky tomorrow…
We’ll do well to take anything from this one.
Would keep Jota and Jimenez up front as they are in form, just get a feeling it will be a cracker
Good side Chelsea, got over their blip and scenting a top 4 spot. I think they will look to blow us away in the first 15/20 mins, score a couple and have us chasing shadows thereafter. A very tricky one and no sentiment in the defence lineup- Jonny and the Donk in the back 5 and Saiss to sit deep in MF. Jota to start and if we are chasing the game, Vinagre and Traore to come on with 30 mins to go. Full concentration from the off but if we weather the storm as we did in December we can hurt them. Jimi to get two and a 2.1 win for us. Just the game we needed before next week and we can take advantage of being underdogs in both. Cor wait.
There should be no fear for this game.
Scoring all three at the Mol, going a goal behind and still ending victorious says a lot about our beliefs and spirit.
I think it will be a good move to re position Dendoncker to the back 3 and leave Saiss to do the dirty work in the middle 4…. so bring in Neves or Mouthino to spray the passes wide.
I’ve no doubt that it will be tough but I also believe we have the ammo to cause them problems…. via Traore, Jimenez and Jota.
David Luis will be in need of a perm after Sunday’s electric performance.
I am keen to observe ‘Sarri ball’ on Sunday. Not sure what it is but I do remember Cannon and Ball. Two chaps from up North who used to say things like ‘Rock on Tommy’ and ‘You little liar’. Which is all very nice unless your name is not Tommy in which case you may feel hard done to. I suppose if your name was Terrence Trent Darby you could probably understand it. Standing up there in front of lots of fans saying ‘Rock on Terrence Trent Darby’ just doesn’t sound right. Another famous Ball is Michael Ball who starred in ‘Les Misrebales’. Let’s face up to reality. Mauricio Sarri is going to be throwing a wobbler on the touchline Sunday and will be feeling jolly fed up. ‘Les Misrables’ if you like. After 72 minutes with his side 3-0 down he will attempt to substitute David Luis hair and replace it with Pedro. Just like at Wembley the hair will refuse to come off. Forcing the on looking legend John Terry to run on the pitch with a pair of shears . Haplessly chasing David Luis hair round the pitch the obvious unrest in the defence allows a fourth Wolves goal and Diogo duly delivers a fifth. A bad day at the office for Sarri ” errrrrrr My players errrrrrr were silly errrrrrr I blame David Luis hair for the defeat. The hair must make a public apology or I am fucking off. I just can’t motivate the errrrrrrtt team.” Nuno said ” next game. Next game. Although if I was David Luis I would get some clippers. Only £25 from Boots” Chelsea 0 WWFC 5.
Cheesey … I couldn’t understand a feckin word of the above … but I thought it was absolutely hilarious !….

See what I can do. I ay sin him about lately. He doe like the cold and wet you see. It is normally 3 or 4 degrees warmer down Laandan so he might be on the 10.45 from Wolverhampton….
Jota & Jimenez up front, other than that happy whoever plays as long as the team gives their all.
Would happily take a draw but I’ll go for the win.
COYW
See Steve Bruce reckons they purchased Iorfa for 200k – if so a bargain for them
It’s always been tough at Chelsea, but with the side we have at the moment we could get something.
They’ll want revenge for the defeat at the mol.
If we can sneak a early goal then who knows.
With Bennett suspended I would play Dendonker rightback or saiss.
Who ever plays on Sunday in Nuno we trust.
Friday ay it Clive. Finished work at 3. Straight on the lash ay it ! Wolves ay we …….FOWB
Bollocks. Said it twice ay it.
I think we can beat Chelsea, players have confidence in their ability against top six by now, and will be up for it, not only from the start but right until the 96th minute.
A lot of questionable confidence above. Yes, we could win. Yes, we could lose. Chelsea have improved significantly in the last 4-5 games.
Therefore, on balance and considering our continuing difficulties in scoring goals I’m going for a score draw. 1-1.
Do you know where Hell is…
Message from Clive of Hastings.
Big thanks to Bedford Wolf for this!
USA . Student bedroom. Disspossed youth. It can only be recipe for disaster….. Only trouble is the f**king Clive…. Ay it.
I would love us to go there and get a result and really hate predicting a loss but I think it’s coming. I’m comforted by the fact that Watford have City so can feel a little blaaazey over this free hit of a prediction…….
I have just had a moment to realise that this is the last premier league game before I journey over from Oz to watch my beloved Wolves for the first time since I first saw them live in 1977. I have my tickets for Burnley and the club have been fantastic in securing me tickets to the ManU game for my first trip to Molineux ever. What a time to do it! Giddy with excitement and if anyone would be willing I would love to catch up with some fans before the game for a pint. I will be at Turf Moor and Molineux but also keeping fingers crossed for a trip to Wembley. Both us getting their and me getting a ticket! COYW and an easy win at Stamford Bridge coming up
Welcome mate. Fond memories from ashes 06/07 . St Kilda elephant and wheelbarrow. Good times. If I get this right there is a Melbourne Wolves club who meet in Williamstown in a boozer down there. ?
Hey Cheeseburger.
Elephant not far from my house and have been there a few times myself. Melbourne Wolves are still going and I remember watching a replay of the play off final in, holy shit back in 2003 I think!. I believe they still get together but the pub has been pulled down in Williamstown. I am a bit of a rarity in that I am not an expat but an aussie. Look forward to getting there.
Melbourne mate your more than welcome in the Great Western lower level street just down the road from the train station. I will even get you a pint of special in !
Thanks Dodgster,
I will be there, especially if you a getting a pint in!. Should I wear a piece of Sandpaper so as you know the aussie has arrived?
Doh be saft, yowl be the only non-white face in there, we doh get much sun over eer.
Make sure you have a Bathams bitter too. Hard to beat!
This is a game that any score is likely. I was even prepared to predict a loss (an each way bet) just to be different from Wolvo Dave and try and get back up on top of the prediction league. I will now go for a 1-1 draw, which I believe would be an excellent result against a predicted Chelsea strong side.
On a totally different topic, I wonder if it makes it a tad easier for us to qualify for Europe if Man C are disqualified from European Champions League next season. Would it also ban them from the Europa league??
Score Draw for me 2 – 2
It’s a strange world where everyone is as confident of a result at Stamford Bridge as a match against Huddersfield. We wont win every match between here and the season’s end – but we will hopefully be a chance in all of them
Whats ironing? I heard it was International Womens day yesterday so I let my wife have the afternoon off as long as she catches up with the housework today.
It’s brilliant now we have no idea who will make the starting 11. There have been times this season where we’ve been a little predictable. I’d play caviliero up top with Jimenez keeping Jota rested. Traore isn’t a striker no matter how quick he is. Dendonker has been too important in the middle to move him so saiss moves into Bennett’s position. I’m confident of a positive result tomorrow we’ll go there with no fear. I think we’ll nick it one nil
We’ve got enough recovery time before Man U to put out a full strength team so I’d expect to see the likes of Neves Moutinho and Jota all play. We should be looking for the win but if you gave me a draw now I’d take it.
Me too Prawnie.
Big Willy to clean out Sideshow Bob at a corner to snatch a draw.
COMBs!
Good luck lads, I think you’ll need it.
Honestly have no clue. I hope Dendoncker slots into CB, leaving Neves Saiss and Moutinho in midfield. Wonder if Jota will be healthy too ?.
Johnny on the right to follow hazard everywhere Saiss in the middle to frighten them Vinagre on the left to run rings around them Dendonker on the bench for tactical reasons.
Traore last 30 minutes Jimenez and Jota up front .
Stuff united we can worry about them on Monday.
This will be the most exciting 0-0 draw of the season.
Going to be watching this one in my local.
Just want to see us play at our best, like we can do against top clubs, and I will be happy. A win and I will be even happier.
Would be great to see Adama tear up Stamford Bridge, but would take a draw.
Prefer Dendoncker at centre back and Saiss in midfield; Jota and Jmenez up front with Traore to come on with a good half hour left. I’m going for a two all draw, but, of course, hope we can get a win… It depends, of course which chelsea turns up. I feel we will be up for this as is usual against the top sides.
Earlier in the week I got a feeling in my water that we would win this one 2-1.
All things are possible so no reason to change my prediction. Just hope we don’t let ourselves down and perform as we did at Huddersfield.
First time I’ve ever cheered Sterling.
He’s still a diving, cheating, mincing little shit, but he did us a favour today
Vacancy at Albion.
Tee Hee Hee
I believe Alan Pardew is available following a successful spell at Dover Athletic….
A bitch of an ending but as I said before, I’d have snatched off a hand for the draw pre-match. So I’m sitting here grinning like Shrek through gritted teeth.
I believe Alan Pardew is available following a successful spell at Dover Athletic….in the southern amateur league two, who gives a shit lower league….
I hope a big club like them doesn’t steal Nuno from us.
sandwell have sacked Darren Moore.
No Darren, no more.
No worries!
I hope Nunos head isn’t turned by this event …. after all Sandwell Town are one of the top six clubs in Sandwell borough ….. ho, ho, ho…
Shite have sacked Darren Moore. Bit weird that. Deffo on for play offs. Probably blown auto. Perhaps that is why. Bobby Gould lined up to replace. In my dreams.
Cheesie mate,
Someone needs to drive down to the Shadow Dwellers corporate caravan cus your next door neighbours Cat has been seen down there – looks like Jeremy Piss has tried to head-hunt him.
Quick get him back, get him out of there 🙁
Cheesie,
Ignore that last message – just been advised it was bollox
It aye ur Cat
It was just a feral moggie going on the pitch like them wolves fans a couple of years ok but this one had a shite in the centre circle
LMFAO
Ha ha chap. The only animal I see with that shower is bewildered throstle. May I contrast that with a snarling Wolf pack. The difference is clear.
The shite have sacked their manager ! Yav gotta loff
No hope no idea . What comes around goes around .
On a completely different subject as a season tickets holder I shall be there supporting the kids on Monday night think everyone else should be as well . They deserve our support
Quite a selection dilemma tomorrow. I would expect Saiss to step into defence to replace Bennett. This means Neves comes back into midfield. Other than those, do we stick or twist with the Cup game six days away?
Vinagre and Traore did themselves no harm last week, but I would be surprised to see them start here.
Other than that. I’m looking forward to a pre-game Liquidator and expect to get at least a draw.
When we played Chelsea at the Mol & being one down it could have gone breasts up but that turn around with two team goals was a special night.
We’ve had several specials this year again and you can see the true fans of our peers in the Prem hold us in high esteem – no one really wants to play us and think that will be the same tomoz.
The Donk in for Benno and Saisse in the mid for me.
With Neves protected in front & behind I see this as being a great stage for him & seeing a 30 yard screamer going it to round off a 1:3 win to the mighty Wanderers.
Absolutely gutted I ain’t there tomoz, so please av an extra pint/ pie for me and try to find a couple of decibels from the 12th man – you lucky lucky fehookers……
Come on you Wolves THE best team & fans the world has ever seen.
Going for a draw. I expect us to revert back to our ‘normal’ line up, except for Saiss in for Bennett. COMB’s!
Hard game predicted – defence, free kicks or penalties could be the decider and who has the best luck on the day, definately in with a chance
I think we’re going to nick this one.
I should be eating humble pie after last weekends predictions got that completely wrong so appologies to Nuno and the team.
Our record in London this season is pretty good (P5, W3 D2 ) so we should go there with a reasonable amount of hope and belief. Think we can just about shade it.
Just got 7-1
For the team in seventh to beat the team in sixth
Get on it peeps
Utw
No idea what to expect with this one – so I’m going to sit on the fence and forecast a draw.
COYW
The home fixture was a ‘I was there’ moment. Brilliant night and good beer and company before and after the match.
I dare say Chelsea will want revenge but I reckon we’re good enough to hold them at their place (but a win double would be great).
Nuno, Nuno, Nuno. I warned you about putting Saiss on the right side. I hope you are correct but if not – Nuno Out!
(Is it second guessing if I guess first?)
What a bummer!
Nuno’s game plan worked absolutely brilliantly… until Nuno time.
Still, I would have taken a draw before the game.
Proud of the lads.
And Ross Stearn got a hat trick yesterday!
Mrs PMG a happy bunny!
A VERY happy bunny!!
The first one went in off his bum.
Well, just got back from the pub.
Two points dropped! That said, I am happy as a pig in shit with our first season back in the Prem. Was totally chuffed with our performance today and over the moon with taking 4 points from Chelsea. I love us playin in the Capital.
Man Utd next ……. bring it on.
Can we play them every week?
Roger fuckin’ East again!!
Where did he get four minutes of injury time from?
Not from time wasting on our end.
Bastard.
We deserved all three points today, a classic game plan which made Chelsea look very ordinary.
But, just as at Arsenal, we let one in at the death.
Still, four points off Chelsea, and how many teams can say that in recent years, unbeaten in London all season, and one defeat in our last eleven matches.
Not fuckin’ bad!!
Now, Manchester who????
Sarri said Wolves didn’t want to play. Didn’t want to play the way you set up to play against. “Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!!”
