Having been awarded not one, but two injury time penalties, I didn’t think Neil Warnock would have anything left to complain about.
Silly me.
Well before the fireworks at the final whistle, both managers had set the tone for a tense contest with cautious team selections.
Neither wanted to lose it in the early exchanges and a cagey first half did little to settle the nerves.
Although it was ultimately the class of Ruben Neves that opened the gates to victory, it’s worth remembering his sumptuous free-kick capped a period of the game in which Wolves were hitting their stride.
Passes were finally penetrating and both Benik Afobe and Diogo Jota were taken out in dangerous positions after Bonatini had already hit the post with the game’s clearest sighter.
The goal was just reward for weathering the expected bombardment and finding some sort of rhythm.
Cardiff were largely predictable and at times effective with their percentage balls forward, but Wolves defended crosses fantastically all night.
In fact, as the clocked ticked into injury time it did appear as if the worst had passed with the only disappointment that Cavaleiro and Costa didn’t take their glaring chances to kill the game.
Cue mayhem.
The first penalty was soft and manufactured, regardless of Conor Coady’s actions.
John Ruddy’s wonder save must rank alongside his heroics at the Madesjski earlier in the season as his finest moment.
Widely criticised of late with confidence and form deteriorating, this was the type of response you’d hope for from a former England international.
One can only imagine his frustration at having made that injury time save only to see the ref pointing to the spot again seconds later.
It’s smart play from Gunnarson when everyone, including Ivan Cavaleiro, was expecting the cross, and the correct decision.
Thankfully Junior Hoilett blinked at the crucial moment and the most remarkable victory of the season was secured.
Yes, Bristol City and Middlesbrough will always be fondly remembered but this must surely eclipse them both?
To emerge victorious after the concession of two stoppage time penalties would be unprecedented in any contest, but in the biggest game of the season it beggars belief.
It’s little wonder Nuno was on the pitch again. He, like the rest of us, had never experienced anything like it before.
As for Warnock’s complaint, there might be an accepted etiquette for handshakes at the whistle, but the Cardiff boss surrendered the moral high ground with his subsequent actions.
Truth be told, his vitriol only made the victory sweeter.
Wolves are going up. On that point, there can no longer be any argument.

I don’t know if you all saw the interview between Nuno and Sky but Nuno basically said that he knew how to behave because he has coached in The CHAMPIONS League before.
The interviewer seemed to imply that because he hasn’t coached in England before, he doesn’t know proper football etiquette.
Wolves are going up, and there are certainly no arguments from me.
What I love most about our Club, is that they are never boring and never do things the easy way.
Nail biting Cup Final to date.
Thomas, can you and Ben please look at your social calendars and consider joining us for a meal on the 28th and /or on the 5th May at Sunderland. It would be an honour to have you there.
The man who told his players to get his players sent off in the Battle of Bramall Lane talking about managerial etiquette. Then talk about “This is British football”…the man might as well have said “This is why I voted Brexit”.
Here’s hoping Fulham catch them.
Nowt wrong with voting Brexit lol
A lot wrong with voting Brexit lol
Let’s not go there, you’re never going to persuade the other party that they’re wrong.
Quite right let’s not get political. Then again – Brexit rules! 😉
Stop your whining, we had to chose between Trump and Hilary!!!
Brexit is done and dusted my side lost.
But all those lovely Portuguese players we have, Costa, Cav, Jota and Neves plus Big Willy come BREXIT we wont be able to do so cos they will then need work permits, another reason perhaps why they came early to join the mighty Wolves, as when they signed they would not have been guaranteed a work permit, because they weren’t full internationals as I understand it.
So yes we gain some stuff back, but we lose access to European football talent to a greater degree than we have now, beware the law of unintended consequences……..
on Colin what a muppet, he showed the world his true colours and looking at comments on twitter few if any think he isnt what we all know him to be, rude obnoxious poor loser
This team never ceases to amaze me,and this season will go down in history to when the potential glory years were founded.Let me tell you l have just seen Burnley beat Watford who are 7th in the league, and if they are a benchmark for that standing then we have to be a shoe in for a top 10 finish.Even without a profilic striker. As it stands imo we have 7 players who would not be out of place at the top table, whose style there would suit them even better. It is a wonderful time to be a Wolves fan.
I rarely go to Wales on holiday anymore but my last two visits to Carduff have been along with many brothers & sisters as the 12th man.
On the last occasion Colin’s face at 45 minutes reminded me of a gargoyle, but at 95 mins last night was similar to the lesser spotted “hippocrocopig”
Last night became my best away day with the beloved wanderers, which may be due to my fading memory, but I wasn’t on blood pressure tables back then & last night would have blown the sphygmomanometer up.
My missus has never been to an away game before & due to my bro have a urgent hospital appointment coming through for late afternoon I needed a substitute – so SueRack came off the bench.
We got off the coach & she picked up a penny on the Carduff coach park & then what ensued was as close to eutopia as I think you can get.
So when you start to analyse why we won, please add my missus to the list of WWFC, Nuno, coaching staff, team, Neves’s right foot as I think she contributed as much as the rest.
Lastly, she did say on the way back home “ok, so now I can see why you love Wolves as much as you do”
So to treat her, it’s a full size cod, battered chips & mushy peas for tea tonight with a couple of glasses of vino.
We know how to celebrate in Fordhouses!
Comeeee Onnnn Youuuu Wolvessssssssssssssss
that sounds like a three tuns celebration have a pint in the woodbine for me .fwaw
Great write up as usual Thomas, thanks for your efforts which are much appreciated by all.
I survived the match on Sky, although I was glad in injury time that I’d remembered to take my blood pressure medication!
I have to say that I’ve read some of the comments of Cardiff supporters on different website and, in the main they have been temperate, reasoned and not grudging in acknowledging that we deserved the victory. It’s also been interesting to read comments from various sources about the behaviour of Mr Warnock – Leeds fans in particular were, with good reason, condemnatory. The best comment I saw was “Nuno had just watched his team survive two penalties in the last two minutes to give them the win – how do you expect him to behave?” Keep it up Nuno – we love your passion and value your whole-hearted approach which has brought us to where we are.
Some of the press seem to be developing what I can only describe as a snide attitude to WWFC. For them it’s obligatory to include the cost of our most expensive players with every mention of their name … and if they came via JM that has to be mentioned as well – along with the comment that some clubs have complained. They are strangely silent in the case of Free transfers, long-term club players and those costing under £4M. With some journalists there always has to be an angle doesn’t there – all of which makes me only to happy to turn to this most excellent of blogs to find out the truth – from both the heading articles and the contribution of the community of fans – it’s great to hear from you all.
Sorry, I’ve rambled on, but what a wonderful few days we’ve had … and Friday just crowned it.
COYW
I thought it was a fascinating contest throughout with the battle of two contrasting styles providing a feast for the purist, even though it lacked somewhat in goalmouth action.
Neves’s goal was worthy of winning a contest in any standard of football and thereafter we contained Cardiff’s ever more desperate attempts to rattle our defense resolutely and fairly comfortably. Until the last five minutes.
I’m sure the mayhem in the pub in which Ivybridge Wolves were watching was mirrored across the land as one, and then two penalties were missed. Oh to have been in the away end to share in what must have been the pure ecstasy of those moments.
What happened afterwards has been well covered, and Nuno did let his emotions get the better of him. But if Warnock thinks that refusing a heartfelt apology and replying with some overused Anglo Saxon vernacular is showing class, he needs to go back to etiquette classes himself.
Either way, old sourface ain’t gonna ruin my memory of this fantastic game. It’ll stay with me forever.
I doubt we ll ever see Colin coaching a champion s league game
Nuno s got all the class going and the season after next he ll be coaching wolves in the champions league .
The problem old Warnock had after the game is that Fulham can catch Cardiff and one point from a possible six going into the play offs spells trouble
What a fucking great victory that was
Well … I was lucky to be there first up…. and believe me we were by far the better team, controlling the game and showing the better quality of football.
What a fabulous weekend we had .. traveling with Stuwolf and the lovely Jen, taking in a great hotel and evening meal before heading off the the CC Stadium.
I have such fabulous memories of what was to follow……
A classic Wolves football performance with quality players, the likes of Neves, Boly and Ruddy you would have to go a long way to see.( not to exclude the others as this was a truly memorable night).
A game domination which wasn’t reflected on tv highlights.
The sight of a Wolves fan in front of me falling over the seats in front of himself due to serious alcohol consumption and also his inability to even clap his hands together.
Watching Stuwolf zig here and zig there to meet and greet some of the fans from the DSA.. (Disabled Supporters Assoc)…(that man just never sits fucking still…. brilliant mate).
And to cap and absolutely fabulous, enthralling evening … we get back to the hotel and order a couple of rounds of drinks and then hook up with DAN BIRD AND HIS GIRLFRIEND who acknowledge graciously that we were the better team.
Biggest thrill of all was when the small group of three guitarists in the pub start to sing …Hi Ho Silver Lining ..and we give it large and join in the lyrics.
Finally got to bed about 01:00.
We’re there… IMO it’s now a case of when promotion is confirmed not if … and I’m guessing it’s going to be Birmingham City at home …
Great too to meet Lowves and his lovely lady….
I for one am so looking forward the the Bloggers meet for Sheff Wednesday at home and also Sunderland away… what an awesome time to be wolves fans…
Glad you enjoyed it. See you on the 28th.
Haven’t posted for many a moon but the last two heart stopping Fridays demand it. I can now reveal a potent weapon in the Wolves armoury. Mrs PW has an ambivalent attitude to football and Wolves but after feeling very disconnected in the last few years (surprise, surprise) she loves Nuno and co and would probably elope with Connor Coady. The point though is that she kept out of the room and Neves scored. Then she left the room at penalty time….result! Trouble is, she’ll be at the Sheff Wed game,
Heart stopping, brilliant. Football, eh? And, Colin, did you see the defeated Pep shaking the hands of all the Utd players? That’s class and you have none – a disgrace to your club.
Two areas to tackle if we get to the Prem (I’ll accept it when we’re there despite it being the best season in my 57 years of supporting) – clinical striking and cutting out impetuous tackles. But our team has it all before them and youth on their side. Magic.
Welcome back Peekwolf …you’ve been missed mate..
It has been disappointing in recent weeks to read blogs questioning the ability of John Ruddy. How easy it is to forget that every outfield player, in almost every game, makes a number of serious mistakes, most of which prove to be inconsequential and can be overlooked. But not so the Keeper. He is under constant minute scrutiny, on the basis that any error of note can result in a goal against, and lost points. The Keeper has no place to hide.
To keep this in perspective let`s recognize that in Ruddy we have a Keeper who has kept a clean sheet in around 50% of the games he has played . Yes, the defenders in front of him, particularly the central three, have been tremendous, but Ruddy`s record can only be regarded as outstanding by whatever measure it is judged.
Thye penalty save last night was, in my view, world class. But irrespective of this, Ruddy`s overall performance during the game was that of a colossus. This was John Ruddy`s night.
It is my view that in Ruddy and Noris, we already have Keepers on our books well able to carry us through our first season in the Premiership. Hopefully reports of our interest in some mediocre, unproven goalie from the highlands will have no substance in fact. It is comforting to know that Nuno fully recognizes real talent, and stays loyal to those able to perform consistently to his demanding standards. John Rudy surely falls into this category.
Well said. See my post a few after yours where I say something similar. Well done JR.
Many years ago I had the unfortunate experience of seeing a Mexican Burrowing Frog at Dudley Zoo. A desperately ugly animal, I thought I would never see the like of again. Until last night. COLINS FACE. What a complete fucking wanker. Totally ungracious in defeat. Moaning like some dreary fucking Brummie selling burgers at the Rag Market. Face contorted with rage. TRY TEACHING YOU PLAYERS HOW TO TAKE FUCKIN PENALTIES. GET JURGEN FUCKING KLINNSMANN AS YOUR PENALTIES COACH. You knob. There is something about Colin in Cardiff. Yes that’s it. Wolves always bugger it up for you don’t they. You are lucky KING NUNO dae smash your dreary whining face. MOW FUCK OFF.
Cheesey – I’m not sure you are cut out for a career in the diplomatic corps but in terms of saying it like it is and putting into words what I guess we all feel you nailed it buddy.
OODCL
PMSL. Only you could say it just like that mate. Brilliant.
Yep … that’s about the long and short of it cheese
now that was proper funny
i had to read it again because i am crying
So just Sunderland to go and then we will have beaten every single team in this division. That’s because WE ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP. Do you get that Warnock? Do you? Not the “so called best team in the Championship” as you so ungraciously referred to us in your sour grapes laden post match interviews. You are a twat of the first order. And a fekking ugly one at that. Your dinosaur long ball and long throws tactic of lumping in to the ‘big men’ and trying to capitalise on set pieces came back to bite you royally on your arse mate. WE scored from a set piece and your boys – slight pause here as I try my best to stifle a massive belly laugh – well, they missed the easiest set piece of all. Twice! ;-). 😉
Special mention to John Ruddy who has come in for criticism from some quarters of late. He was immense all game even before the 94th minute heroics. Also Coady – who had some of us in Bedford comparing him to the late and very great Bobby Moore.
Ruben Neves – I love you.
Willy Boly – I want to have your babies.
Nuno – your post match interview was possibly the greatest I have ever seen. So genuine, so nice, so passionate, so Wolves. I’m not ashamed to say I had tears of pride in my eyes.
On to Derby and then wrapping up promotion and the title on 15 April v Blouses. I have given my daughter, whose third child was due today, strict instructions that she cannot and must not go into labour next weekend otherwise I might have to choose between the two loves of my life – my family and Wolves.
P.S. still searching for a ticket for Mrs BW for the Sheff Wed game………..?

Wednesday Bedders, call me Tuesday night.
Fulham winning was a good thing now we can win go up v brum which is lovely
Haven’t got many fingernails left after last night, we don’t really make it easy for ourselves do we, what a roller-coaster last five minutes, the season has been a wonderful one let’s cap it off and beat derby then brum
So proud of the boys.
Cheers Beds. I have a deep ingrained hatred of COLIN going back to when he was Scarborough boss and celebrated like he had won the World Cup when his band of Cloggers held us to a 0-0 draw at Molineux in 1988.My grudge against him has lasted ever since. He never fails to be a complete and utter arse.
Love this picture.

Heard from a steward on Friday that Sunderland are going to restrict us to the upper tier, to prevent a pitch invasion at the end of the game. If this is true we had better take ropes and scrambling nets to get down to celebrate with our heroes.
By the way what as happened to the picture you took of me with my new Welsh girlfriend?
If that’s true Ken, then that is good news, because that end is huge and we should end up with around 3500+.
I didn’t put the picture up because, whilst it seems funny now, it would come back to haunt you. I sent it to your phone during the game anyway. If you didn’t get it let me know, I will ding it across to you. Ding….
Colin telling us ‘its just not the British way’ ! Well, Colin, when I was a kid I was brought up to take defeat gracefully no matter the circumstances. I also understand that ‘the British way’, when someone fails to meet the requisite etiquette standards, is to raise an eyebrow (or two) and then to retire to a corner to mumble quietly to oneself. Not to go storming around screaming ‘F**k Off’ to the world.
Onto the match. To quote Derek and Clive, “Laugh ? I nearly s**t myself” when Cardiff missed their second penalty. For me the first was not justified – Cardiff players had been backing into our players all night – notably Zohore and Morrison. Pilkington did exactly that, tho’ Coady should have kept his hands down. The second one – ok – on the edge of the box, could have gone either way.
But did Cardiff deserve a point ? Up until the goal I thought the teams were evenly matched but after it they resembled a 1980’s Wimbledon – constantly ‘putting it in the mixer’ with no attempt to play the controlled, aggressive attacking game that we have seen they are capable of.
What a contrast to the performance against Hull. Unfair to single out any individual after what was a colossal team effort, but I can’t take too many more of these Friday evening high-drama matches. Can we please just go back to comfortable 2-0 wins…?
You’ve got to admire Neil Warnock for many things.
Over centuries he’s produced sides that have been MUCH more than a sum of their parts.
He’s got a special style of football. (Kick the ball or the opponent as hard as you can and as far as you can).
He sports a fine head of hair (almost certainly it’s original colour).
Great teeth! (all his own of course).
And he possesses one very special quality in abundance…..
…. CLASS!
And Oh! How he showed it last night.
On a night when the ability, passion and sheer bloody mindedness of our great team shone through the darkness of deepest Cardiff like a beacon of hope amidst the wasteland of lost causes….
…It was totally overshadowed by the great man.
Colin’s class during, immediately after, and in the following interviews with Sky and the press, was a rare sight, and sound, to behold.
What a man!
As far as the match is concerned, words really fail me.
Neves probably played his worst game in a Wolves shirt – at least one of his passes missed the mark – and still scored one of the best goals you could ever wish to see.
And Ruddy was just Ruddy marvellous.
Benik Afobe proved that he could link play and track back as well as just wait on the shoulder of the last defender.
But every man deserves every single bit of praise which is being heaped upon them.
And, as far as my feelings are concerned, the adjective to describe them has not been invented yet.
Suffice to say, in the words of the late great Doddy…
“How tickled I am!”
“What a day for shoving a stick up Colin’s ass and saying, How’s that for route one?”.
Great stuff DooGooder! Neil “fuckin” classy Warnock. Eh by heck as like, but I’m so fuckin’ classy. I’ve got class coming’ outa my fuckin’ arsehole etc etc.
Complete twat!!!!
Ha ha ha – absolutely priceless
BOG
Amen to that mate. The idea of Warni=ock calling anyone classless is laughable to put it mildly!!
With all due respect to Cardiff supporters…after Colin’s disgusting outburst, I hope with all my heart that these are the two teams that get automatic promotion this season.
WOLVES 1st
FULHAM 2nd
Yes, Fulham second and Cardiff to lose in the play offs. Our little squad of ex Wolves at Millwall are doing well, amazing to see them go up through the play offs .
OK… have had some time to reflect and this was an epic result and confirmed that we have a style and the talent to match that will hold its own next season. It also confirmed that we are not pansies and can mix it if necessary. Coadys first tackle makes my case.
Colin was just Colin. Who cares really?
We are also, to quote my good friend Rob, a bit jammy… but so what? No side trying to reach the PL should screw up 2 penalties in 3 minutes… but that’s Karma.. and we have earned ours .. and Cardiff theirs.
Now we have to focus on staying professional and aggressive so that we leave Cardiff in the dust …to fret about Fulham …and secure maximum points from the last 5 games.
Fingers crossed that a few tickets for April 28 are left Wednesday am and heartfelt thanks to fellow bloggers for rallying to help in securing them.
Will be up in the early hours here to try to buy three. Please dog.
Of course Colins team had a problem with the match being live and under the control of a decent referee, couldn’t repeat their antics from Molineux. Could be Fulham will overtake them, and what a relief that would be, there is no room for dark ages football in the prem.
Watched the first half of the Manchester derby and the style from the home side was something Nuno has tried to replicate at Molineux, thats modern day football and thats why our style prevailed on Friday.
If the FA take action against Warnock for his ungraciousness, then they should take action for the neanderthal football his teams have produced over the years. There is room for emotion in life, sport and football, there is no room for petulance, foul language or abusive behaviour.
Love the utube videos of the match. Roll on Wednesday, champion elect.
Further to all the comments posted re the game here I would like wish Shrewsbury Town all the best today at Wembley
Each live game on the ‘Woves Sports’ channel is viewed by a number of us at the Friars just off Wyle Kop here in Shrewsbury
Wolverhampton Dave,Therry, and Charlie (the Man Utd fan) along with the medical couple from the Crescent have now put in a few shifts there and put away far too many pints of Amber bitter …… Thank you Landlord forFriday showing the game on all 4 screens across the establishment
It’s a testament to this seasons performance and inevitable conclusion that the little group of ex pats only 30 miles away from the town have bonded with a commonality that otherwise would not have occurred
We are all 50 and 60 somethings far too raucous and foul mouthed for our years and I would like to thank the staff and regulars of the Friars for their hospitality …… Any fan without a ticket in the area is more than welcome to join us this Wednesday and Sunday as we celebrate again …
Wolverhampton Dave is the man who bears a strong resemblance to ELO s Mr Bevan ….you can’t miss him

Anyone fancy a bet?
Currently Bet365 are offering odds on us getting promoted of 1/5000.
Or on the winning the title 1/200.
No?
Just a thought!
OODCL
Bedders,
Thanks for that.
Just put £15,000 on Wolves to be promoted.
That’s the easiest £3.00 I’ve ever win on a bet.
Lmfro
I’ve pawned the family silver, sold two of the children and all three of the grandchildren, both dogs and every single one of Mrs BW’s 500 pairs of shoes and put the whole £100,000 I raised on the promotion bet so I’m on for a cool £20 my friend.
OODCL
Bedders,
I ay avin u trump me
I’ve just broke into next door and nicked his family silver, sold his missus to an a-rab, sold the rights to his unborn great grandchildren & stole the deeds to his house as calaterial for a £250,000 loan plus (& she’s gonna kill me for this!) I’ve just had a bid on eBay for her indoors mom & dad to become puncawalers for a very rich multimillionaire in Dubai
I’ve now put £756,633.14 on & I stand to win £151.33
That’ll pay for my weekend in Sunderland IF Bet365 pay out early ?
Right.
Here goes………..
………….. I’ve just persuaded the 17 year old geeky kid next door (I say persuaded but it was more bribery really and involved a 1976 copy of Razzle plus some other items I cannot say on a family site like this one) to hack into the Bank of England’s computer system and transferred £4.4m into a special Swiss bank account that he also opened for me. Tomorrow I am flying out to Zurich disguised as a 45 year one eyed optician on a hiking holiday in order to draw the cash out. Then under cover of darkness with the loot secreted about my person I will abseil down a nearby mountain then steal a small boat from a couple of locals after disarming them by complimenting them on their rolls. After an exhilarating white water rafting journey I meet up with Phileas Fogg who invites me to join him in his hot air balloon. Less than 80 hours later, despite a slight detour over Cardiff in order to empty the contents of our ‘toilet pots’ over Warnock’s house, we arrive back on terra firma. After realising we were meant to land in England not terra firma we take off again and eventually land at Luton airport. After a quick snifter (it’s ok they can’t touch you for it) with Lorraine Chase I’m outside my local bookies – Honest Joe’s Turf Accountancy – as they open for business and lump the whole lot on Wolves to be promoted at 1/5000 and with my £880 winnings I buy myself and Mrs BW season tickets for 2018/19.
Ok?
You try telling that to the young people of guest and they won’t believe you.
OODCL
I arrived at the bookies and tried to put a bet on, but they couldn’t take my money the Bet 365 owner had pissed orf to Bermuda with a sudden windfall, leaving instructions that they were to pay out two guys and throw in a packet of quavers as an act of gratitude.
WTF, just don’t seem right a bookie not wanting to take a bet.!
I really do love this blog.
Can’t remember the last time my face was this saw from loffin art larrrd (lal that’s gonna fek the young en’s up)
Fekin right!
You’re in for it now!
I’ve just got off the phone to Guo Guangchang (must admit I was surprised he wasn’t ex-directory!) and asked him to log on to Thomas’s blog and read what you put!
Guo – yes now we’re on first name terms, so he just called me Rick!! (Worth 2 x exclamation marks at least!!) said he’s very disappointed that the odds are so long. He then said i’ll lend ya (in his best block cuntree dialect) £6,437,550.00 which will net you £1,287.51 (and he never used a calculator he done the maths in is yed) which will buy me 2 x season tickets, 2 x away season tickets (as e said “yowl need an AST to watch us play at the Emrites & Anfield in August”) and our new shirt home/away
I then said sed “is this just bedders fekin me about” and the line went dead.
Fekin Wolves Ay We
I think you are all very silly.
Some of us bet the house at the beginning of the season, not the end.
Unfortunately Hurricane Harvey took my house before the season had really started, so the bookie told me the bets off.
Bastard.
Clive,
The very nice people of BET365 took a couple of wagers off me pre-season too.
1 x Wolves promoted and Sandwell Town relegated @ £5 = £210
1 x Wolves champions and Sandwell Town relegated @ £5 = £595
I’m sure the first ones in and still got the fingers crossed for the later.
So I’m sure I can buy you a consolation pint in Sunderland to enjoy the spoils of not only the Marvelous Mighty Wolves celebrating but also that of them stripy in-breds down the road playing B’ham again next year and crying on the tele!
FOwb & CW & AV
In all my 65 years of existence on this planet I have never……hang on I said that after the ‘Boro game. It couldn’t be repeated again? Well it was and my flaber was gasted beyond anything I can remember.
Firstly let me say that I poured doubt on the ability of a certain Mr John Ruddy, now I am eating humble pie to some extent (though I still think we will have a different No 1 next season). He was magnificent and the reason why we came away with the 3 points.
Neves – He is just an outstanding player. Words sometimes cannot describe what he does. He will go on to play at the highest level, no doubts about that. If we do not make the required progress over the next season or two he will move and I would not blame him, He deserves to be showing his skills at the highest level possible.
Big Willy – he is a giant amongst men, not just his physical appearance but how he manages to glide over the ground, his reading of the game and just, well, everything he does on the pitch.
All the boys put in another gut wrenching, eye stinging, lung bursting performance.
When you have no more to give they find that extra that makes the difference.
As for Colin and his comments about Nuno not showing “class” is nothing short of disgusting. When you consider his own “class” antics he really should shut the fcuk up! A complete arse.
I would just like to thank the makers of Ramipril and Amlodipine for doing a sterling job in keeping my blood pressure at a safe level despite, at a few stages in the game, fearing my heart and head would explode.
🙂
I posted this somewhere else yesterday:
Napoleon Bonaparte once said ” I would rather have a general who was lucky than one who was good”.
In Nuno we have both and we are truly blessed.

Some of you of a certain age may remember other instances of managers racing onto the pitch immediately after the final whistle without shaking the hand of the opposition manager. Ones that immediately spring to mind are David Pleat in the famous Raddy Antic/Man City v Luton relegation clash and Bob Stokoe when Sunderland beat Leeds in the FA Cup final. Nothing was said then about their behaviour or ‘lack of class’, not even by Warnock who was already managing at the time of the Pleat incident. Which gives this whole anti-Nuno thing a nasty, xenophobic taste.
How about Bill McGarry making love to Gary Pierce in 1974?
Wolfman,
This castigating of Colin Wanker must Stop Now
We should respect our elders and truthfully anyone that has been in football & managing since methuselah was playing right back for Christians United FC back in 15 BC should be treated with the same respect as that of a rabid dog
FOCW and wb
Well done Wolves, great performance, deserved win; made me eat my prediction. Surprised that Cardiff set up so defensively; bad call by Classy Colin (enlighten me, why is he called Colin?).
You have to remove the letters Colin from Neil wanock and then rearrange the letters you are left with
Warnock even…
Classic. But sure the word “friend” should be replaced with “brother”
We should be happy.
Most of us would have taken a play off place pre season.
We had no idea who Neves, Jota, Boly, Bennett, etc were; let alone how they would perform.
Nor did we know how Nuno would mould them and others into a unit that, let’s face it, (other than perhaps Fulham), are the only team with any class in the championship.
I am not angry with Villa, WBA or Colin from Cardiff’s concept of class.
Very proud to support Wolves who have stormed the league this season and am excited at the prospect of how Nuno will pit his wits against the likes of Jose & Pepe!
Well, it’s been an epic weekend for all of us. I’ve been going back to my old haunts. I watched Friday’s match in the Express Tavern on Kew Bridge; was drinking last night in Ye Olde London on Ludgate Hill (by St Paul’s); and am presently supping another pint of Young’s Bitter in the White Cross, Richmond riverside before heading home to Wales (Barbara’s driving). Friday’s game? It’s all already been said but I have my ‘I know where I was when….’ moment to put away in the memory vaults. Is this apeshit grin down to the alcohol or Friday night’s events….I don’t know for definite but I have a pretty good idea.

In Nuno we trust
I got this Amazon stick thing, which I use to watch Netflix, and that’s about it, not being technical at all.
My daughter’s partner, a die hard Everton fan, brought her stick thing with her while they visit me, and she has it loaded with every sports channel in the universe. So, for the first time this season I got to watch Wonderful Wanderers on my big screen, super dooper, hi def tv, in the comfort of my newly finished ( almost ) lounge.
Fuck me.
What a magnificent performance.
For once, we could actually hear the away support in full voice.
This was, for me, the anti Chorley game.
In years to come, there are going to thousands who brag that they were there.
And this time, it won’t be the usual anti snobbery of Wolves fans of the past….weem crap and we love it………….it will be “we are superb and we are Wolves.”
Others have described the valiant efforts of our sporting heroes, but my over riding memory will be that miserable twat’s sour face, from the kick off, moaning and bitching at everything.
I think his head would have exploded if we had been awarded two penalties in phantom injury time.
I think Cardiff will now go into serious meltdown, starting at Villa, who have something to prove after Norwich, and struggle mightily for the rest of the season.
Lucky Wolves shirt, socks and underpants on for the match?
Haven’t taken them off since!!
Don’t fergit MY ticket for Sunderland, Stu baby…..please!
Bog off, you ain’t paid me for the last one. 🙂
(Sorry BOG)
I had to retire from being a wolves fan after the Cardiff game it was far to much pressure to cope with. I add only just got over the borough game, I know they say it’s not easy being a wolves fan but fuck me if this happens every week how are you supposed to cope.56 years on this planet and the wolves still make you feel like it’s all worth it. I’m back in, Derby for promotion and the shirt blues for the championship. This time next week the promised land. Utw and fowb
If we go up this season, I’m saying if because I don’t want to jinx us the sky the limit. I was looking back over the last few seasons you know August full of optermisuim talking of automatic promotion then come October thinking well we should make the playoffs the December just a couple of decent signing and we will be back in with a shout of the play offs and all the time in my heart of hearts I knew I was just deluding myself.
There’s a great line in the film The Shawshank Redemption I think it goes ” hope, hope is a dangerous thing it can send a man crazy ” that how it felt for me the last few seasons until Jeff and Fosun arrival even then being the Wolves supporter that I am and the years of disappointment I was sceptical to say the least.
But I still have hope , hope that we can now get back to not where we belong, but where we have earnt and deserve to be on merit for that ill forever be thankfull to Jeff, Nuno his staff, the players and last but not least Fosun.
We’re climbing up the Sunshine Mountain. Reach up to the sky. You and I. You and I…… A little ditty from the Barmy Army at the cricket in NZ last week. I just think it sort of sums us up at the moment. All sort of happy and nice. 5 more points Nuno lad. 5 more points….
I guess that most of us have watched the game or at least the 62nd minutes Neves’s fekin useless free kick (don’t shout at me I’m takin the piss!) to be closely fast forwarded to the 67th minute for a goal that GOAL in front of the 12th man then fast forward again to 92 minutes then press play again.
So for anyone that hasn’t heard Signal 107 commentator, along with our very own Andy Thompson, doing what a passionate football commentator does best then google the following “ last few minuities of wolves commentary as wolves beat cardiff “ by cooldude 4076 – it’s a short u-tube clip & if you don’t brake out into a repeated “shit eating grim” then you ain’t a Wolves Fan.
Try it & tell me it ain’t the best but if radio ever.
Fekin brilliant. Fekin WOLVES AY WE
That is BRILLIANT! Brought it all back again. Wonder if I can get “Wolves have won the game!” as my ringtone.
OODCL
I’ve just played it several times over again – still loffin
Sorry, it is a facebook vid, pls copy & past the thread below and you don’t need facebook:

That’ll get you there……..
Thanks to Londonwolvesloyal for explaining the ‘Colin’ thing to me (thought there was a w*nk*r in there somswhere). Hello to ExiledWolf; you must have been close to my old ‘neck of the woods’.
Started this evening watching Rory at the US Masters, then quickly switched to third viewing of Cardiff-Wolves, as it is so much more enjoyable! ?
Hello Hersham. Yes, I spent the best part of 20 years in various locations around London. This weekend I stopped at the London Kew Bridge Travelodge, which gave me a chance to reacquaint myself with the Express Tavern (an old haunt I used on many a Sunday afternoon) as well as popping down to Richmond for another pub or two.
Last two games and results = promotion almost a ‘it was meant to be scenario’..
as in the sheep missing two penalties too.
Perhaps we have..had enough suffering as Wolves fans to bask in this current road to glory and the PL where we really belong..
Fosun Mendes Neves thank you for the life changing experience that we are being treated to..
I haven’t stopped pinching myself..
This game…the same as Boro..fantastic result..
We will NOT be denied…
I was actually running during most of the game. I was taking part in a 189 mile relay race in Southern California this weekend. First thing I did when I finished my leg and passed the baton to the next runner was to whip out my phone and check the score. I was ecstatic! We’re going to be Champions for sure now! Game, set and f***ing match!
Wolves have been incredible this season. Since going top way back in the season, they have never looked back. Undisputed #1.
As for Mr Warnock, I’m sorry, but the man just confirmed what we all already knew, that he is an angry, bigoted, racist, sore loser. He is so full of shite! He’s been jabbing away at Nuno and at Wolves all season. Trying to get one up. “Oh I didn’t vote for Nuno as Best Manager”, “Oh, I always thought Fulham were the best team”, “Oh this, oh that” making sarcastic remarks and jibes all the time. Well guess what, you idiot, Nuno beat you, will be champion, and you can return to your championship team once more.
If you really want to understand Nuno, you have to just watch him after Cardiff were awarded their first penalty. He’s kicking the air, the proverbial cat, and anything that gets in his way. He’s feeling the pain, the agony, the frustration of potentially letting the result of the season slip away, knowing full well how that would let his team and his fans down. And when Ruddy saves, his elation, his celebrations … just incredible. Simply speaking, Nuno has completely devoted himself to the success and progression of Wolves, and his emotions must have been running so high, up, down, up again, down again, up again, …, that by the end of the game, they just took over and had to go congratulate and be happy for his team.
You see, that’s the part Mr Warnock doesn’t get. It’s not about him … it’s about the team. It’s not about so called British traditions, comfortably branded when it suits, to belittle someone who you despise, … it’s about the team. And when you get that, Mr Warnock, you will find that your team will run themselves into the ground for you, and perhaps even score those penalties for you. Just look at the replays and look at how you carried yourself at the end of the game, Mr Warnock. Aren’t you ashamed? You behaved like an angry, immature, sore loser, juvenile. Shame on you. They say if you can’t beat them join them. I suggest you try to emulate Nuno for his passion and class.
Our season is soon over, but this is just the beginning, the new dawn. This is just the ticket. The real show starts next season. I look forward to seeing all the preparations for next season as our new chapter unfolds.
Go Wolves!!!
As Dave Bedders Bedford has already pointed out, for the Sunderland game there are only 2578 tickets, I asked today and (WE ARE GETTING NO MORE)
So that means , quite a few of us going to Sunderland WILL have enough points, but some may miss out due to the way they set up the system of eligibility. So you need to act now to get tickets, they will be out for season ticket holders soon.
Some points in our favour.
It’s a Sunday ko at 1215.
Not everyone will want to travel that far at those times.
Our promotion should be all done and dusted so we will be just going through the motions.
I have relatives up there, they can definitely get tickets in the home end for those who cannot get Wolves end tickets.
I think we all should be ok and will all get away end tickets.
Good luck it should be a bun fight.
Stu,
Just been in the web site 14.45pm
There are only 232 tickets left available!
Do you know if all the initial allocation of 2578 have been issued on the web site?
Can’t believe we might not be able to go, now that will burst my fehoukin balloon ?
.
They sell them in blocks, that’s how many are left in that block.
There are 2578, and only 1200 ASTH’s, we’ll be ok.
If none left, we’ll go in one of the Sunderland ends or sides, there have a 50,000 ground and it’s deserted most weeks.
Yeah. There are now currently 200 in P30 and 10 in P28 left only.
I guess AST have brought more than one each then, even though the site says 1 per member, I say that as 2578 – 1200 = 1378 left in my book, but the site is only showing 210 left as I said above.
I have also been on the site and there are not all that many left, but cannot buy one until they release them to others who are not season ticket holders. If season ticket holders can get one when the window opens for them, then that will be great. I will see if I can get some “Home” ones but do not want to end up with some that I cannot sell on.
At the moment I am ticketless too.
Steve,
They only sell one per supporter number, so it’s impossible to buy 2 with an away season ticket, if was possible to bypass the systen I would have done it by now.
They are selling them block by block. I was in the ticket office today at 10am with Lowves and they were only selling the first block P28 and now they have opened P 30.
There will be 1378 on sale, and that’s if ALL ASTH’s are going.
With regards to going in the home end, you only buy for people who have already given you their money.
We will all be in the ground somewhere or another. It’s the piss up the night before that will have the most importance as the league and promotion should be tied up by then. 🙂
Does anyone know when the Sunderland tickets go on sale to STH’s? You can’t trust the website as that is often out of date and/or gives wrong information. Equally I have found you can’t trust what people in the ticket office tell you as they often seem to make it up and give out wrong information. However I trust StuWolf to know what is going on.
I was in yesterday with Lowves, the ASTH’s are on sale, but she said there is no information on the STH’s date of when they go on sale.
I’m finding all this very strange indeed, 2578 tickets from a club with 50,000 and a ground that is half full every week. I can’t understand Wolves position on this either, surely they want to end the season on a high.
I am going up again today to see them, so fingers crossed.
For any of you who haven’t noticed, and are interested, it has come to my attention via the club website that tonight’s under 23 match against Leicester is live and free to view on the Leicester club site. Just do a quick and simple registration and it’s yours.
Probably give it a go myself.
Always interested in a Wolves team, Stroker. Defo’ watch that.
I can’t quite understand Sunderlands thinking on this one. They have averaged 27,692 fans at home games this season in a 49,000 capacity stadium. They are even closing the Upper Concourse next year. Over 20,000 empty seats at every game. They are heading for League 1 and will be playing the likes of Accrington Stanley, Exeter City, Fleetwood Town & Gillingham next season so why not have one last big pay day ? 9000 Wolves fans x £25.00 = £225,000 ! Add to that the food and drink sales and their final home game could bank them a quarter of a million quid from the away support alone. That would pay 1 or 2 of their under performing “stars” for a whole month. I have looked at hospitality packages but they start at £145.00 + vat per person – and we thought Forest earlier in the season was dear. Me and Sue have got the hotel and train tickets booked so we will go anyway, ticket or no ticket but what a shame if some of us miss out after the fabulous season we have just had.
My hotel is booked too. See you there mate.
BOG is contemplating getting a box if he can’t get a proper ticket. I think it worked out at £125 each for 8 people. I’m not keen to be honest as it will be a ‘no colours’ rule and a ‘no celebrating if your team scores’ thing as well which, lets face it, removes half the fun. My hotel is booked and paid for and train tickets can be booked anytime but if I can’t get a match ticket then I simply won’t go. Be a great shame to miss out on what promises to be a great weekend and I will be extremely sad but I can’t justify being away for the whole weekend and spending around £200 in the process if I am not even going to the match.

I see THE SHIT have had their plan for safe seating knocked on the head. This decision puzzles me. How are two fans standing a quarter of a mile from each other gonna compromise safety. I guess the other concern is having a number of Sandwell people in close proximity may further encourage yet more inbreeding. It may well result in a hybrid manifestation that looks like Bob Taylor with a sheep’s head. Just saying like.
The problem, Cheesy, old pal, is that you haven’t seen the redevelopment plans for sandwell town’s stadium.
They are actually downsizing it enough so that both their fans can stand side by side. This would obviously cause serious safety problems as they would both be rushing to exit at the same time, five minutes after kick off, through the only door.
They have shelved plans for a revolving door, as them coming in would just keep going and exit immediately, once they realized they were doing a Sunderland.
Now, now Clive. Don’t exaggerate. They must have more fans than two. I’m reliably informed they have enough fans to fill a taxi. They would know the driver too. His day job is a footballer.
Brilliant Clive. Nice to see the hatred of Sandwell Town crossing thousands of miles across the oceans.
This is a bit yesterdays news but it had me crying as much as the interviewee, if for completely different reasons…

Hi guys. I went to the match but have lost my ticket when I got home with all the excitement. Think it went in the wash. I always keep the tickets in my wolves memory box. Just wondered if anyone had their old ticket they didn’t want from Fridays game at Cardiff to replace the one I lost for my box.
My email is goldandblackwolf@gmail.com if anyone can help.
Would appreciate it guys.
Phil
I MAY, be getting hold of some FREE home tkts for Sunderland.
I will update this site later this week.
Brompt,
If you can get a full block then let’s all sneak in there with ferrets, whippets & flat caps then all collectively strip off to our Wolves grundies & 1981 scarfs & see if their observation skills are “why eye man”
Sunderland v Wolves Ticket Update
Just been on the Ticket office site and it is showing that there are no seats left in P28 and 203 seats remaining in P30.
Tickets are only on sale to AST holders.
No news on when the window will be open for ST holders and then My Wolves Members, so I am still ticketless.
I am waiting on a response from my contact for the tickets for the home end. Wait Out!
