Momentum is huge in football and right now we’re hurtling along.
Paul Lambert deserves enormous credit for the turnaround because his influence is clear.
Organising the troops, separating the wheat from the chaff, blooding the youngsters and being good to his word about playing on the front foot.
It all builds good will among supporters and everyone is bouncing off each other, which is creating this wave of optimism.
February looks like being as exciting as January so it’s just a case of riding that wave for as long as humanly possible.
Burton
Fair play to Nigel Clough for sticking it out at the Pirelli Stadium when the Forest mother ship came calling last week.
Even though things aren’t great at his former club, there was a strong argument to suggest it still would have been a wise career choice.
But if he can keep Burton in the Championship that will look pretty good on his CV and who knows, the opportunity to make the move might still be there in the summer.
If the Brewers do stay up it will likely be down to their home form. Five of their seven victories have been at the Pirelli and earlier in the season it was a real fortress.
They’ve lost eight of their last ten league matches including the 2-0 home defeat to Fulham on Wednesday.
An interesting sub-plot to this game is their recruitment of Michael Kightly. Despite his best years being well and truly behind him, he could still prove a thorn in our side.
Wolves
It was satisfying to see off Barnsley without having to call upon many of the players who did the business at Anfield.

In particular Helder Costa who had previously been instrumental in all our successes under Paul Lambert.
All three academy graduates made significant contributions in the win at Oakwell too, which made the victory all the more pleasing.
I actually feel the manager could put out any combination tomorrow and feel confident that they wouldn’t let him down. The above is just one possible lineup.
With Carl Ikeme returning from his two game suspension, there’s a big call to be made there after Harry Burgoyne impressed in his second bite at the first team cherry.
Ben Marshall is a wildcard and it’s anyone’s guess about how or where he slots in. I’d have thought he might be introduced from the bench either tomorrow or next weekend. Looking forward to seeing to what he can add.
Predictions
There can only be one prediction and that’s another Wolves win. I simply have no reason to believe they won’t get the job done.
Burton came to Molineux earlier in the season and bossed large amounts of that game, but we were a different beast back then and they were still feeding off their promotion.
I think the atmosphere will be much different tomorrow with the away end making a right old din and they’re now facing a battle-hardened Championship team.
Expecting a tough game but a satisfactory outcome.
3-1.
Up The Wolves!

Out of darkness cometh FoSun and its Onwards Upwards and Edwards.
After such a great week why wouldn’t you want it to end as predicted. Weimann , Costa , Dicko (2) to score as the Wolves boys continue to entertain and fight
Looking to keep up our winning ways and another 3 points into the bargain.
Is there a realistic chance of yet making the play-offs?
This will be when it all comes together for the first time and Wolves give someone a thumping.
…… and my favourite person in the whole world has parted company with his employer, even though his team had a player who could have teamed up with Tom Daley and won a gold medal for diving.
Another clean sheet please. Bod’ to score a couple job done. Great being a Wolves fan, never been better. COUW.
Heart says a 3-0 win, head says a 1-0 win so going down the middle for a 2-0 success.
Not easy to pick the team this week. Centre back pairing could be Batth & Stearman, Batth and Hause or Stearman and Hause. Equally might Iorfa get a recall at right back to rest Coady and to counter the flying Burton left winger? Central midfield -does Price deserve to keep his place or might Evans be preferred? Maybe Saiss, who I rate very highly, might start now he’s back from the African Cup of Nations? Equally in attack should Enobakhare and Ronan start? Dicko or Bodvarsson up top? What about Ben Marshall?I think the only certainties to start are Burgoyne, Doherty, Edwards and Costa – other than that the other 7 starters and the subs are damn near impossible to guess.
Will be in that London on Saturday for a celebratory weekend now that Mrs BW’s treatment is over. Going to a show, posh meal after and staying in nice hotel in 7 Dials area of Covent Garden. Will be glued to my phone though checking the score updates on LiveScore.
Feel good factor is definitely back and upon us.
p.s. Moxey gets the sack – hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
p.p.s. It only took Norwich 6 months to suss him out so fair play to them – shame it took us 16 years before we got rid of the smug, self-serving, incompetent liar.
According to my mole at Carrow Road there are two conflicting reasons why Moxey left his job there.
One was that there was a fight between Delia and Mrs M for control over the kitchens and they decided to settle it with a dance off.
Delia and Ed Balls against the Moxey twins.
In spite of the fact that Jez was wearing a sequinned dress which he designed himself and made out of an old pair of Morgan’s pants, Delia and Ed won the popular vote.
The other, slightly more believable, one is that apparently they are remaking an iconic cult classic film and Jez was an absolute shoe in for the lead role.
The film is…
Wait for it….
‘The man who fell to earth’ (With a resounding splat!).
see that Ollie sussed out our sideways pass master
http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/qpr-rule-out-cancelling-ex-12547279
Got to give it to Norwich got moxey sussed in 6 months
Get those Redrow signs down from the molineux now – pay the brickie his money back if there is still some time left on the terms.
Anyway back to the game, team is buzzin now trust PL to get team selection right so it’s
Feeling very positive about tomorrow and I think we will be way too good for Burton but I need to stick to my prediction formula to ensure a victory!!
perhaps if I say dicko not to score the opposite will happen – please
http://www.norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=479082
makes you smile
It is about time we gave,a team a good thumping hopefully starting tomorrow even a forward chipping in with a goal
But I will take a 1 0 win any,day as long as we get the three points and climbing the league
Got a good feeling bod or dic will.score tomorrow
Cmon my boys
3-0 the the Wolves. Why not? Confidence is high.
Regarding the Burton match, being Wolves fans we all expect the wheels to fall off the bandwagon sooner or later, but there does seem to be just the faint whiff of consistency and the budding feeling that maybe things are changing for the better.
Put simplistically:-
If we play as we did against Liverpool we will win at a canter.
If we play as we did against Barnsley we’ll win.
If we play as we did against Norwich we won’t.
I’d be happy with a ‘Barnsley’ and a narrow win, but I’m hoping for a ‘Liverpool’.
Well put Doogooder
3-1 for me too.
COMBs!
Jiz Moxey next job. Traffic warden. Car park attendant. The man who fills the durex machine in toilets.
Lots jobs out there suit you Jiz.
Sigh, be sensible Jim.
None of your suggestions involve pies……….
The defenders are defending so it is time for the strikers to start striking.
Bodvarsson to score and a comfortable 2-0 victory.
These are the games we really must win if we have any chance of sneaking the playoffs.
We are on a roll and our team combinations really seem to be working. No doubt we will slip up somewhere along the line but not tomorrow. Slowly but surely we will move up that ladder; be interesting to see where we are positioned in another 10 games time.
I can’t argue with any of your points there Thomas. I think it’s about time either Dicko or bodvarsson got on the score sheet so maybe tomorrow’s the day. Let’s not be complacent this won’t be easy their battling against relegation. But saying that I still think we’ll win. The beers good in Burton as well so hopefully it’ll be a good day tomorrow
I normallly predict 2 nil but lately I genuinely think that it will be and also I can’t believe that I find myself thinking this but I don’t care which team we put out cos we’re flying .
I’m going to renew my season ticket on February 14 th so it actually means something!
You old romantic you!
Listen mate .. I’m a modern man , I ain’t afraid to admit that shit !
Love is blind !!
Funny you should say that , lot of people seem to say that to my wife
Small ground, restricts football, easier to defend. We need players like Costa, Dicko, Enobakhare & Ronan tocontrol game & open up Albion’s defence. On a roll, keep it going!
All the signs are pointing at our winning streak to continue. I can’t honestly see us loosing at Burton but we all know how tough this division is.
Another ‘guess the team’. No idea but whoever PL selects I have faith they will come out on top.
Be good to see our strikers hit a goal or two – please !
Be nice to win this one, then the 5 home games in a row we got after! Play offs is still way too optimistic, we’re concentrating on the cup this year.
I hadn’t heard about Poxey until I read the blog today. Christ that cheered me up on a wet miserable day. I’m still a great fan of the Dadi so hoping he will play tomorrow and get that goal he so richly deserves. Onwards and upwards for me.
When a certain Mrs Moxey tries to tell Delia how to bake pies, then the writing was on the wall.
I made that up, but it doesn’t sound too far fetched to be honest.
I honest believe that we will roast these guys tomorrow and was intending to predict 3-0 or even 4-0, but as I am having an utter shit stab at the Predictions League thus far, I need to try and do what Wolves need to do and that is catch up on the leading pack, so …….
Rather surprised that a lot of people think Burgoyne will be chosen over Ikeme. Why? Ikeme has been our #1 goalie for a long time. I would loke to think he will slot straight back in to his rightful place. Well done to Harry for the last couple of games. I think Stears will be back too. I’d like to see Saiss and Edwards in the middle and of course the usual forwards. Like everyone else feeling positive and fingers crossed we now have the right players to win EVERY game. Why not?
A 2-1 win will do fine.
Vicsmith – I think Ikeme is suspended for three games and this is the third of them – it was a 4 match ban but was reduced to three on appeal or have I dreamt that? I agree with you about Saiss – quality player.
Yes you’ve been dreaming again Bedford…. it was a 3 match ban originally but got reduced to two…
I’m surprised some bright spark hasn’t said it’s his age….just saying, like!
By the time April rolls around I would be absolutely chuffed to bits if two things happen in the league – for us to sneak into the playoffs and for Burton to avoid the drop. If we can have the three points tomorrow I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for them for the rest of the season.
WHY WOLVERHAMPTON WILL WIN
The Wolves have the better offense, scoring 1.32 goals per game vs 0.97 for Burton. They also finished January with 2 wins, a draw and 1 loss, it would be a good idea to build on that momentum to carry them forward.
WHY BURTON WILL WIN
The Young Australian Striker Jackson Irvine has 8 goals this season but did not notch a goal in January and he is looking to start February Strong. This could be his best opportunity.
Also In all their wins this season, Burton have scored and led at the half so for them to win they need to score early and often.
http://sportpesatodaygames.com/burton-vs-wolverhampton-prediction/
No idea who will start and more than happy to leave selection to PL: gets it right pretty much all the time.
PL. gets the tactics spot on, has players showing marked improvement individually and as a squad and Wolves are beginning to show consistency
Going for a comfortable win.
I’m hoping everything is going to come together and our strikers will finally get the rewards they deserve. Maybe start with Bod who will hopefully bag one or two, but get Dicko on from the bench to get one to boost his confidence. Fingers crossed!
No idea either about starting 11, but,
Duckens Nazon is not in the U23’s squad for the game at Stoke tomorrow
PL said two weeks ago Williamson would be back for the Burton game.
Ben Marshall has been stalked by PL for ages so why leave him on the bench
Conor Ronan did enough on Tuesday night to ensure his inclusion from the start.
Morga Gibbs-White was rested Tuesday so could feature.
Decisions, decisions, PL has a dilemma on his hands.
Wolves 4-1 lets get the right side of the goal difference.
COYB’s
Hi Stu,
Ben Marshall gave a statement after he signed saying that he had just ‘ticked over’ in training right through January and that he wasn’t match fit. I would be very surprised if he featured tomorrow .
Cannock.
Thanks for that, I noticed that Weinmann came straight in and just worked on the fact that PL is not our usual run of the mill managers/coach. I wouldn’t be surprised at anything he does.
Should not be a problem at all on Saturday.
Saville or Evans instead of Price but we’ll have too much whoever plays.
JEXIT….
Best news since the win at Anfield!
Can’t argue much with your predictions Thomas, except I will go for a clean sheet, 2-0 rather than 3-1. I tried to log on to predict the Barnsley result with the same 2-0 but couldn’t get my PC working. Anyhow the result was 3-1 but I would have inched up the Prediction League a notch.
Paul Lambert has an enviable problem with selection. He’s spoilt for choice! He’s working his magic and our quality and consistency are coming through. He probably has the Newcastle and Chelsea games on his mind, although every game is important when the playoffs are, mathematically, possible. I’m sure he doesn’t want to over-work Costa, so he could be benched. On the other hand he must hope Bod, Mason and Dicko find the net, so they could feature at Burton. Weimann looks the real deal, a beauty of a goal at Anfield, no lack of confidence there, so he may rested to save him for the bigger games. Hopefully Marshall will get a cameo run-out tomorrow.
I have to admit, I share the confidence of many on here. But I’ve learned over many years that that’s rarely a good thing. They do tend to let ya down when ya least expect it and play champagne footie when you feel you have no hope.
But things feel different now.The phrase ‘strength in depth’ has never been so apt. Every man in every position is playing for his place in the team. If you don’t cut it there’s a guy snapping at your heels just waiting to gobble up your place.
What a delightful quandary for PL and we fans. Especially with our cup exploits adding further fixtures to our already busy programme. It seems we can drop players in and out without any detriment to the performance of the team. Long may it continue.
It would be good to see:
Saisse given a run out.
Either Nouha or Bod hit the net. Or both.
Iorfa back at full back. Partly to give him a chance of redemption and partly to rest Coady for the big games coming up.
Us to score a hatful of goals. It happens too rarely.
Hopefully a resounding victory.
One of my fondest memories is a Wolves v Chelsea game in the late sixties.
In those days we sang :
“Hi – Ho – Hi – Ho we are the North Bank Choir.”
Peter Osgood was centre forward for Chelsea and the song was:
“Ohh…Ohhh …Ohhh… Osgood belongs in Dudley Zoo.”
In the game Dougan scored a superb header.
Ah well, back to reality.
Lambert should play the youngsters as much as possible in the league.
Bright & Ronan, I believe should start most games.
The experience this year will really benefit them.
Our future lies with our youth system not the transfer market.
Really hope we win but will predict a draw
I’m buying into the dream – should be a straighforward 3pts
Total domination and a further push into total football …..confidence abundant…everyone wants to play…..Burton simply couldn’t have met us at a worse time ( for them ) …I doubt anyone could live with us at the moment ….watch out for a big one and a faultless performance….
So lots of optimism on the Blog..and why not? But remember its Wolves, right? Out there lurks Kites and we know how our former favorites love to play against us? (BTW did anyone read about Huddersfield’s win last night…a certain Van la Parra had a stormer).
Anyway I recall watching Burton early on this season and they play football…like pass to each other and move around and ..anyway I can’t get carried away on this one and think it will be closer than most of you.
Meantime as we wallow in good feelings right now I have a question for Thomas,, and Ben.
At the start of the season there was an appeal for financial support for the Blog. What happened? If not much, do you want to re pitch? It would be easier for some of us to contribute if there was a Paypal option provided. This is such a good forum (especially when the going is good) and they say the best time to fix a roof is when the sun is shining,…..
surely a cast iron opportunity for my 3-0, except it may well be a bigger margin. At last we give a team a resounding thumping ?
Saiss is recovering from the African Cup matches, Would be nice to find Williamson has recovered fitness, Edwards needs a rest.
I think we’ll put out a proper first team, but maybe give the kids some time too.
Only real problem could be that small pitch, but our STRIKERS have the skills to get through,
PL will find a game plan.
I’ve been walking around today with a huge grin on my face all day…
Onto tomorrow versus Burton and although it won’t be one sided …it won’t be far off……
Let’s face at the Mol earlier in the season…although they had reasonable possession we all thought that 2 points had slipped away when they equalised at the death.
Nothing similar tomorrow and I’m getting excited by the fact that ..no matter what team is selected we have the players to do the business.
Party over!!! This is Wolves we’re talking about!!!
I don’t think so, we have left the bad old days behind and we are the best for the rest of the season. COUW.
Once upon a time, we didnt look at the fixtures to see who we could afford, or expect to lose to, and who we thought we could beat.
We expected, nay demanded, to beat everyone we played.
And a lot of the time we did.
We are now, in my humble opinion, in a position where we should be demanding a victory every time out.
It is no use doing the “what ifs” , we are where we are.
The playoffs are still tantalizingly close.
I hope the players are as positive as we are, which can only bode ill for our next two home opponents.
We need Arsenal to knock the snot out of Chelsea tomorrow morning, so they still have to concentrate on the league title, and make things easier for us in two weeks time.
And spare a thought for Scooped and me.
A season ticket holder for a hundred years, and he will be over here when the Chelsea match is played, and me, for having to put up with him for two weeks!
Wolves 5 Burton Sandwell 1
Sounds like a budding bromance you two…still if you’re both consenting adults ..that’s fine…!!!
Consenting, but hardly adults!
We could be in for a good time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dD6hmVR4qis
Brilliant!
Just love that video DG.
Have we finally turned the corner? I’m trying not to get too confident so I think I’ll go for a draw
Predicting the team is as difficult as predicting the score these day,s.
Eat your hearts out haggis munching tartan wearing jocks. The uk record Arbroath 36 Bon Accord 0 is about to be smashed. Burton might as well fuck off down the brewery. They woe cope with Helder and the boys. The only good thing about Burton is a splendid jumper i bought in 2011. Any road fuck off and 38-0.
There are many fine beers in Burton CoD, better than a jumper purchased back in 2011. And there are some beers that are only sold in Burton………and because I just had to try them, I found out how uncomfortable a car is to sleep in, even after a few beers……..
Cheesbungler, Tellfred
Hey you fookin sassanach,
I’m one of those haggis munching tartan wearing Jocks and I will set the record right. Bon Accord are an Aberdeen team where my Da was from and my eldest was born, none of the two wore a fookin splendid jumper but drank lots of the foaming frosty’s from said Burton on Trent. I started my Ambulance career at Burton Ambulance Station, by a strange coincidence I never owned a Fookin splendid jumper either so 2011 must have been a fookin shite year for sheep in Derby the source of the river Trent which provides the water for the “Derby Tussler sheep” whose fine fleece is used in the manufacture of fookin splendid jumpers.
Which leads right into the game for tomorrow at the Pirelli stadium home of “the quite dapper slipper” which Brian Clough used to use at home being the proud owner of a fookin splendid jumper. It was the jumper that first drew the future Mrs Clough to Brian which in turn led to a steamy night in a 1962 Ford Popular, bringing into the World Clough junior, manager of the opposition tomorrow. In the Burton Mail it’s been reported, Clough juniors wife has mislaid Brian’s splendid jumper, the lucky charm of Clough junior. This has spooked the whole team which coincidently is exactly what happened to Bon Accord 4 hours prior to kick off against Arbroth, the home of the Royal Marines and the Arbroath Smokie, which is what we Wolves intend doing to Burton tomorrow, (smoke em)
So before you go, fookin with my birthright and history of our Scottish clubs, dwell on this fact. If it takes a week to walk a fortnight why does water go down the plughole in an anti clockwise motion in the Southern Hemisphere when Austrailians drive on the same side of the road as us.
Fookin sassanachs.
You may take our CD’s
But, you’ll never take our 38-0 records.
Business as normal……although fancy scoring another goal mid week and ruining what would have been a perfect prediction.
And as regards the story from Carrow Road, I recently told you he’d be leaving. Next stop, Blackburn. Home of the chicken farmers, current world record holders of the worlds biggest Samosa (which no
doubt he was annoyed for not being invited to the tasting), and further scope to take the catering contract, specialising in chicken pies.
Will we ever know the story why he went? Maybe Delia and Ed didn’t want to give him total control of the chequebook…….which leads me on to another question:
Is there a timeframe for gagging clauses? If McCarthy and others had a confidentiality clause in there final payoff, does that clause still exist, now both parties are no longer employees of Wolves?
Yeah Telford. I ay goin tomoz but av ad a drink round there before. Good town to be fair.
Well, Twixo, you would know about Bromancing the Scoop, you take him chocolates every game, buy him bovril or coffee or something else warm for him to hold……….
Just sayin’
Great and unexpected win at Anfield, fantastic day to remember.
I took my eldest grandson to Anfield with me with his two uncles, what a baptism for him his first away match.
Barnsley was a bonus, I thought we would only be able to get a point, gotta hand it to PL he got it right resting his crew for that game, let’s hope it’s all guns blazing tomorrow when we meet the brewers and get another 3 points to push on and you never know to get us in touching distance of a play off place, wishful thinking on my part but why not .UTW
Stu. Good lad. All the best.
So Moxeys left Norwich by ” mutual decision ” which is posh speak for the fat greasy slim ball has been sacked and it couldn’t happen to a bigger scum bag on the planet.
Some might say that’s harsh he was only doing his Job at Wolves that is, but he took great pleasure in seeing us fans suffer and taking his 30 pieces of silver what ever League we were in.
He more than any one widened the gap between fans and players and it has to be said the owners when he should have been the one to have brought us all together.
I have often wondered if we would have fared better with someone more symperthetic towards the fans someone who relalised you cannot have a successful football club without sustained investment and not penny pinch on players.
He’s gone and to write anything about him from now on is just giving him creability something he has never deserved or earn’t.
So with a great start to 2017, why not carry on?
Some highlights:
Thus far (Jan) = 6 games = 4 wins = 1 draw and 1 = loss (only due to the cheating partner of Tom Daley with 2 x backward full tosses!)
Great start to Feb = Mexit (BTW he left because Delia couldn’t afford yo keep him in pies and he threatened that if they lose many more games would sack the manager and bring in a big name premier manager but then offer it to Terry Connor!)
Feb cont…. = 1 x away game at Burton Smethwick – Team – in PL We Trust = plus the bench will be more than capable of making changes if needed. – Expect our forwards (who have literally done everything but scored) to be on the score sheet tomorrow with a couple and only see a comfortable win.
5 x home games to follow – I reckon the local economy will be so boosted with ringing tills that even see the council tax lowered this year!
And the last word to Fosun / new senior management – never before can I remember WWFC listening to the fans – 1/2 price blues tickets, money back for season tickets and £50/£25 for the kids season tickets – great club, great fans, great management, brilliant coach, great team and then Stan Brolleymore tells us how to run the club and not be naive – go punch a swede.
FOWB COYW
Burton 1
Wolves 3
Re Moxey ..and as I’m now down here now the true local story was that in a social session Delia said ‘Lets be havin ya.’.Jez started to take his trousers off thinking this was the usual Norfolk initiation – then Mrs M came in..got very pissed off and forced Moxey to resign for ‘family reasons..’ Delia agreed as she thought Jez wasn’t up to it any way…
Anyway the match ..if we continue the way PL has got them firing then it should be another 3 points..he has almost two rotating teams now ..Presume Marshall will come on and as I keep mentioning it Dicko must score soon..
If we start on the front foot then let’s do a Liverpool again..
Reluctant confidence I must admit…
Not yelling for Sako any more, Stevie Boy????
Sako! Sako! Sako!
There, I done it for him.
He’ll maybe come home in the Summer ready to help us storm the League in 2017/18 (that’s if we don’t sneak into the play-offs and go up this season of course!).
A nice early goal, then good tight defending and get them on the break for the second.
Really believe that we could have a very good run of matches and fly into contention for a gallant 7th or 8th.
Bod hat-trick !! Come on !
Burton are the minnows of the championship, probably underdogs in every game. They will be highly motivated to try to beat a `big club`. So long as PJ makes sure his players are up for this game and ensures they are ready for a real physical battle in particular in the first 20 minutes, then there is no reason why we can`t get the three points.
So I`ll go for a late winner and a 2-1 victory, but it won`t be the walk in the park so many of us think.
I confidently predict that both Bod and Nouha will break their dry spells today. Should be a good performance at least, confidence must be tremendously high within the squad. But you never know. This is the sort of game to kick your feet away from under you.
Possible Banana Skin… Beware…
Love the Ticket thing and the Video..
Someone mentioned Sako again. Yes please, would only improve the squad further
I admit I have been lurking in the background reading but not typing up my thoughts for the last couple of months.
No excuses but I’ve been busy but every week I’ve since the arrival of PL to Wolves my weekends have been getting better and better. To beat Liverpool in the FA cup (after years of embarrassing cup runs) was just the cherry on top and I’m excited about how far wolves can go.
I know I’m late in writing about our Cup Run but it just that feel good factor that will take awhile to lose.
Back to the job of climbing the prediction ladder now – I’m predicting a win but don’t think it will be as easy as some are saying.
One last point,It’s always a pleasure to jump on this blog and read the banter I will say esp reading the match reports as all the way in Aussie – don’t get to watch many games.
Benny.
Your’e coming to the Chelski match aren’t you???
Can’t miss that one buddy, 3 Premier teams felled on the way to Wembley.
I would also like to see Sako back
Ok ok CH ….Costa on the right Sako on the left Jordan Graham Inside him..paired with Bod IR .ask PL he’ll tell you…424…
Just got our Chelski tickets.
See you all there!!
Doog
2000 sold in 90 minutes this morning, it’s gonna be a cracker of a crowd. Iv’e got to get 5 and two of them are Manure fans.
Just like old times DOOG ….hope you’re bringing that lovely lady of yours …I’ll be parking at the APV …are you stopping overnight..
Hopefully, just about to book.
See you there.
See you in APV. I am stopping over on Saturday night, are you up for a beer or three?
Could well be. We’ll probably eat there too, do you want to join us?
Not staying at APV, stopping in Low Hill. Will meet after dinner.
Sako back? I honestly don’t think we need him. Our squad is plenty big enough and I wouldn’t want him to keep one of our fantastic youngsters out of the team. (ie young Mr Ronan).
Even though I really fancy us today this is a potential coupon buster, just be like us to be playing class and lose a game like this. Come on lads keep the run going.
Like everyone else, feeling confident, and why not? Come on boys, let’s keep the feelgood factor going.
3 points & then best of luck to Burton for the rest of the season.
A big squad was deemed to be a problem a few weeks ago but I think it might well prove to be an advantage over other championship clubs. Paul Lambert has said he does not have a first 11 which based on last few games played, seems to be the case. The players that have come in to the team have not let themselves or the team down, Lambert has managed to install a great team spirit, where the players are backing each other up, those left out don’t seem to be be less motivated than those picked to play. Being able to rest key players whilst still producing great performances has got to stand us in good sted for the rush of games coming up and as our game is based on pressing the opposition, rest is key to keeping the good results coming.
Stu,
I would love to meet you good people at the Chelsea match but unfortunately living in Melbourne, Aus I’m not going to make it this time.
My aim is to get to an end of season bloggers catch up if not this year def next. So one day I will visit the Golden Palace again.
The Pirelli has been a tough place to go this season and I’m sure it will be far from straight forward but hopefully we can continue our good form.
We’re starting to look strong with a large squad, pretty much two interchangeable teams – much like what Zenga was talking about but unable to cohesively bring about in the short time he had. Lambert is in a different league though.
I think we’ll turn Burton over to date – a 3-1 win. Come on me babbies!
Hopefully we can keep the momentum rolling forward.
I’m not expecting a stroll in the park but we do have the momentum. Dicko to get on the scoresheet, hopefully.
oops ! there we go again. How wrong could I be, yet how many times does this happen ? Lose to a team at the bottom, ex-player scores.
Didn’t see the match, but apart from the difficult little pitch, I reckon we didn’t rest sufficient players.
Another 2 points lost, it’s looking hopeless for the playoffs now, isn’t it.
3 points lost. Need a striker.
yes, of course, 3 points, I think I was still holding on to the draw ! In denial at the late winner.
It’s had a call from my mate, who went to the game,we got over run in midfield by a team who haven’t won in 6,he said PL got it wrong today, they wanted it more than we did and to be fair they deserved it.Dicko needs a rest he he should give the Daddy a shot. But gotta say we threw it away again after being in front.poor today overall though.Playoffs out of reach now me thinks.
Play offs out of reach, but that horrible long arm of relegation aint.
I never bothered with a prediction about this game cos I’ve been a Wolves fan too long….
As you might have gathered, the result did not surprise me in the slightest.
There’s always the cup, eh?
One question, amd I promise to shut up. Why are we not adventurous to play two strikers against chicken-shit teams like Burton?
UTW
Back to conceding ..are we kidding ourselves?…Dicko now surely under scrutiny but how can this really happen after how we’ve recently played ?…
Top six now a figment unless Sheffield Wed Derby Norwich Huddersfield start loosing and we of course win most games left…
Oh Wolves…
Hee heee. Everyone getting excited thinking we could make the plays off etc. Yeah we beat Liverpool, yeah, we beat Barnsley, but we are Wolves so expect the unexpected.
I don’t consider it us going back to conceding, it is us STILL failing to finish off a game. We were winning 1-0, so if one if our ‘Strikers’ did what they are paid to do this would have been 3 points.
Anyway, I am not getting upset, as no matter who you play, a team has no god given right to win away.
Bring on Newcastle. I will be there. Oh and I got my FA Cup ticket today.
I also got 3 points in the PL for being a knob and predicting we would lose 2-1 hee hee.
Only Wolves can dominate the game right up to the minute we score, then go into freefall playing Kenny Jackett football. The most boring game of headball Iv’e ever seen in my short life. Could not get it on the floor to play football.
PL definitely got this one wrong big style. This should have been the game after Liverpool,
How to throw away a game of football.
A plain hard fact…..
Two plgeons landed on the pitch in front of the Butprton goal and tney stayed there throughout the 2nd half apart from the odd flutter up only to land straight back down…. bizarre.
The pigeons were right in front of me and were more interesting than the game. At one stage there were three but he got so bored he flew away!
What worried me was that one of them was nesting FFS.
That’s it then.
Lambert out, Big Sam in.
Ooops! 0-4 at home, maybe not then.
On current points ratio we will end up on about 55 points. About 2 less than last season. Only Wolves can spend £29 million on players and get worse !
No big deal for me bound to come back down to earth sometime. It was a turn around day when a lot of teams came off a losing streak even Ipswich got a point. We know that team isnt good enough and some of those players will eventually be out of the reckoning.
I’ve just looked at the league and we’ve dropped down a few places after that dreadful performance especially the second half,we are where we are and if we can’t beat or at least hold on to a point against a team who haven’t won in 6 it’s a sorry state.i know we’ve done well of late but we always somehow f it up.still seething.
No creativity in midfield. Should Ronan have played? As long as we boot long ball up front Bod needs to lead the front line. Dicko too small. We need an established goal scorer on loan. Easier said than done. Look forward to Jordan Graham returning; he created so many goals. The jury is out on Weimann.
