There are 12 teams below Wolves in the Championship table.

11 of them have sacked a manager this season with only Karl Robinson at MK Dons lasting the course. Talk about fickle.
Even two of the clubs in the top half have made a change for crying out loud. It’s ridiculous.
It’s not so much a merry go round, more a swirling vortex of unrealistic expectations.
I remain pleased Wolves haven’t pulled the trigger, because for all his questionable actions this term, I still vehemently believe we’ve got the right guy for the job.
Burnley
The Clarets are flying high and as of late are starting to disappear over the horizon in what once looked a hotly contested promotion race.
Six wins in a row and eight wins from the last ten have transported them from play-off hopefuls to pacesetters with just nine games left.
A good number of those fixtures are at home against crappy midtable teams like us, so they suddenly look odds on to make an immediate return to the top flight.
It’s quite painful viewing for Wolves given that a number of their best players were once part of our own title winning team. Jones, Vokes, Ward and to a lesser extent Kightly have all played a role in what’s been a great season for Sean Dyche’s side.
Wolverhampton born Andre Gray has also proven a wonderful acquisition and he comes into the game as the league’s top scorer. In fact Burnley as a team have scored 10 more than anyone else.
They also have the best home record in the Championship, just to hammer home the magnitude of the task facing us on Saturday.
Wolves
It’s about time Jed Wallace was called back. Millwall fans are gutted to see him leave, which is great to hear. He hasn’t yet been given a sustained run in our side but now should be his time.

Saville looked jaded in that second half against Blues and I simply can’t name a Wolves XI without McDonald in it, so I’d have to give Byrne the hook too.
I’d like to see Wallace in that number 10 role, because I don’t think we’ve currently got anyone suited to it, but he’s been playing wide right at Millwall and playing well, so maybe that’s where he should continue?
Kenny says below he might need a game or two to reintegrate but I don’t see much point given our current status. Why not just chuck him in? I would.
We need another strong defensive showing as it’ll be tough to get anything even if we’re not handing out freebies. Hause has slotted in well since returning to the center of the back four. We could still do with Williamson though I reckon.
The gaffer
Predictions
Got to be a defeat – sorry lads. The only thing to hope is that by a law of averages Burnley can’t keep winning, but that’s some serious straw clutching.
Kenny is always saying we need to be conceding zeros and ones to be successful, but I reckon we’ll be shipping two or three on Saturday, so that limits our opportunity.
But I’ll back us to score – 3-1.
Up The Wolves!

Is it Just me or does nobody bother Listening to anything KJ has to say in either pre or post match interviews anymore… Just play back the first one of the season and you got it…
He certainly answers with a straight bat and carefully selects his words, but I think he offers good insight (personally). Far better than any of his predecessors in my time supporting the club anyway.
Just my two cents on that specific point Nige 🙂
I agree, Nige, the hamster just keeps on spinning the same old bollocks.
It will be nice to see Stephen ” I will never be a footballer as long as I have a hole up my arse” Ward backing off again.
If there is a single brain cell left in any of our coaching staff, it will tell our players to attack down their left side.
Burnley, top of the league? Shows how crap this division is, and by extension how woeful we are.
Still, all good runs come to an end, and Burnley are no different.
We will upset all the applecarts, or whatever the expression is, and stuff ’em on their own muckheap.
FOwb and The Donald for Prez.
I agree.
Donald for Prez and Mickey and Goofy for joint Chiefs of Staff!
Don’t vote Donald, I beg of you Clive. You can make it my Christmas present 🙂
I remember the Not The Nine O’clock News people singing a C&W song about how they couldn’t believe the Americans had elected Ronald Reagan as president. My memory suggests he did ok – better than ok actually – so why not Trump for president this time? I know he is a bit touched and his views on the gun laws are a tad cavalier to say the least but he can’t be any worse than the current one.
Why bring politics into it we’ve got enough with what happening down the mol over the past few years.
And as for Trump he’s a bit radical but seems to speak for the common Mon, as they say in the black country, if yo no wot I mean.
3-0 to the wolves.
I just can’t predict a loss. However, we don’t do upsetting the formbook. That said Burnley are one of our favourite opponents when it comes to results over the years. I will cling to that plus the fact i have just got um after 7 pints of lager up the pub watching manure get f**ked. Never unpleasant. They will all be down the kingpower next season…
I will be a realist this time and think we will get beaten, but maybe we can come up with a reasonable performance and make ourselves a credit to the shirts being worn.
I still don’t think KJ knows his best available 11, and with so many under performing based on expectations, I don’t think he will find out the best team for a while.
#UTW
Logic says we have no chance, can’t see anything but a tame defeat.
I don’t think we stand much of a chance here, so I agree if there is a time to experiment – this is it. They would be expecting us to defend grimly, so let’s go out and attack. Put on Zyro with Mason and Siggy in a 4-3-3 formation. Now you see why I’m not the coach.!
Wolves win……..
They can’t win all their games..we’ll stop them
We don’t stick to any sort of plan or reason, so a plain straightforward 1-0 to Wolves with a good performance, this is against the top team in a very, very weak, league.

*****Important Information for all Bloggers****
The Bloggers Bash May 6th & 7th
Friday 6th May & 7th May is our end of he season game Bash at the
Park View Hotel,
Park Road West
Wolverhampton
WV1 4PP.
All Bloggers in Wolverhampton for the game that day are truly welcome. I have
called it the “Bloggers Bash” this year, as in the past people have been put off attending as they think it’s a closed shop full of elitists. Oh how wrong you are… Any one that knows Clive and I will understand if they let us Butt holes go, you lovely guys and girls are more than welcome and we would all love to see the people that make this blog what it is.
Clive is busy dusting off his leather trunk and packing his American shirts to sell to us, at albeit a reasonable price of $50 US for a cheap shitty Fruit of the loom shirt made in China .
Doogooder will drag himself there health permitting but I’m assure he will be here hell or high amounts of Lemon cello.
So with that in mind, on behalf of our dear friend Doogooder who has asked me to get this going due to him being a tad sick at the moment.
I would like to here and now ask you personally & officially tonight to come and join us for a great night amongst people you spend time with on this great blog of ours.
I have two menus,
a £22, 3 Course meal menu
and a £26, 3 course menu for which you can chose from.
All we need is commitment from you guys and girls to come along either day, although the Saturday is the best and more popular one. But by all means if you want to come along for some banter and a meal or bar snack then a good piss up on the Friday a lot of bloggers do book rooms there. If you want to book room you have to be quick as they are only a small venue.
I am compiling a list and if you’re interested please e-mail on my e-mail below and I shall return a copy of both menus for your attention. the next step is I need who is coming from your side, what meal hey want from which menu an what day/days. Also a £10 deposit to secure the place. So on receipt of your e-mail I shall sent you a copy of the menus and a form so you can jot down your numbers attending and your chosen meals for the Friday the Saturday or Both.
I need to gee this up as time is catching up, so your attendance would be gratefully received and your details appreciated as quick as possible to facilitate a great night running well.
Dress code is smart casual, but how about a silly tie night, dress smart casual but with a ridiculous tie to break the ice and set the mood.
I am trying to arrange a Very Special guest to attend and if they arrive I guarantee the night will be a doozy.
Please consider this we love the banter on this site, it is a one of annually so why not, What has happened to Lynx we can but wonder, but we know what happened to one of our tragic members, what happened to US Wolf’s wife and the latest trials Doogooder and Bedford Wolf are both facing. Time is precious to us so come and spend it with us nutters and tick it off your bucket list.
Tonight I sent out about thirty e-mails to Bloggers who I already have their e-mail addresses, if you’ve not give it me I can only work through this medium.
Thank you for your support on the blog, now come and meet us even if you don’t want a meal with us stick your head around the door for a jar or two or three

Me and BOG planning on being there for the Saturday evening soire’ (piss-up) and will confirm shortly. If the Very Special Guest is either a timid little Scouse git called Morgan or a fat odious ***t called Moxey can you tip me the wink in advance please so that we can come suitably prepared? P.S. anyone know where I can get some of those exploding bullets for my gun like they used in the Day Of The Jackal?
Feeling bummed that there is no way I can be at bloggers ball.. Have a stupid tie even and would be fascinated to put faces to blog-IDs at this gig
Hope this tradition continues and maybe next year I can come as we celebrate top 10 finish… Sorry guys, there’s no quick fix from where we are right now.
Meantime have jumped from 8 hrs behind to 13 ahead as now on east side of NZ en route to my Daughters wedding in Melbourne on Easter Monday
So instead of waking up this sat am to find out result I will now need to wait until Sunday am, which will be weird
What will be sadly familiar is a good whipping by a team that’s better than us and yet features some old boys (btw did you see Guediora’s goal vs gunners? Htf did we let him go?)
Onwards and upwards ..?
Roll On 2016/7 .. Or do I mean that?
Could you pop into my daughters in Christchurch … she owes me a tenner and I need it for the deposit above …
You’ll have to let me know how your journey went going Westwards… have a good trip.
Against all odds I think we will come away with a well deserved point.
I’m perplexed Thomas regarding your thoughts on KJ..and it’s actually worrying for me that you think ‘we have the right guy for the job’.
Unless the team is being managed remotely then how is it our best man K Mac is being ridiculed yet again..?
We spend £3M on Mason currently craving for a striker.. he virtually scores most games ..KJ doesn’t play him – only as a sub..Why did we wait until the last part of the season to understand we needed a defender?
Why do we play merry go rounds with the squad and unsettle everyone..etc etc etc..
Why do we get beat by the shit clubs this season? why are we all distraught because of his decisions?
..I’m truely incensed with the bloke ..take me away now – (I like the white coats…..)
This game ..we are probably worthy of a result particularly if we play Mason and Zyro together and K Mac has some confidence left ..but who knows who’s going to play …?
I’m foxed with our day dreaming, confused,( look away..look away)..limp lettuce of a ‘Coach’..
Huh..
COYW
I get all that you say Steve. My thoughts on each point for what it’s worth:
* Macca, I would play him every game without question as I’ve continually said. Gut instinct is one of three things is happening:
1. He’s not putting in enough effort and this is KJ’s way of getting him to buck up his ideas.
2. He’s off in the summer and Kenny knows it so trying alternative combinations.
3. Kenny is trying to grind out results to keep us out of trouble (rather than being more open) and Mac is a victim of this approach.
* And as for Mason…firstly, I don’t think we paid anything close to £3 million. The club would like us to think that but I’ve been told that figure includes everything (salaries, fee, add-on clauses, etc) which sounds more like our type of business. Secondly, I’m not convinced Kenny actually wanted him or at least wanted him that badly. I think he’s someone Thelwell and co have identified. Finally, and I’ll put my neck on the line here – I actually don’t think he’s very good. Hardly any Cardiff fans were bothered he was leaving, which says a lot when they didn’t have any other strikers! Can’t argue with the bloke’s scoring record thus far, that’s for sure, but not seen anything in his performances yet to suggest he should be an automatic starter. A few have talked about movement off the ball, but that’s not enough for me. If he was that good, he’d be playing. I actually think his signing was a massive step backwards, but maybe I’ll be proven wrong.
* You say ‘Why did we wait until the last part of the season to understand we needed a defender?’ and I would point out there’s an assumption there that KJ hasn’t been asking for a defender all season. You assume it’s his fault. I don’t think he would have chosen to sell Stearman and not bring in another experienced center half. I think the club wanted the cash. We did bring in Williamson earlier in the year don’t forget and I believe everyone thought he’d probably stay until things went tits up back at Newcastle. My point is, I think KJ is blamed for circumstances beyond his control.
* You say ‘ Why do we play merry go rounds with the squad and unsettle everyone..etc etc etc..’ – the simple answer is ‘we have to’. From last season’s team we’ve lost four, five, six vital players KJ is effectively haven’t to start from scratch. So he’s got to experiment and try different people to find a winning formula and in the Championship where the margins are so thin, that’s not always easy. He’s also working with limited resources because the club categorically refuse to spend the requisite amount of dosh for a serious promotion tilt. Even Blues are outspending us.
* You say ‘Why do we get beat by the shit clubs this season?’ and my response is every game in the Championship is tight. The difference between being utter shit and play-off chasers is probably one or two players. Put Dicko and Graham back in our team and suddenly the team looks pretty good, no? Look at Derby, they’ve spent gazillions and still tossed away a three goal lead at Rotherham. There’s no logic or reason to anything that happens in this league. Everyone demands success but sadly it’s nearly always dictated by spending power, which Wolves and KJ don’t have.
People seem to think a new manager will wave a magic wand and make everything better. You think they won’t make the same infuriating decisions that their predecessor did, that they will agree with how you see the game and things will only get better. I know that to be a nonsense.
I prefer to look at things in a wider context and ask myself ‘could someone do better in the same situation?’ and ‘what’s fair to expect given what’s happening at the club?’ and ‘is this guy a strong, decisive leader. Is he intelligent, does he know football, understand what’s going on?’ and I still find when I ask myself all these questions about KJ, I remain firmly in his camp.
Yes, I don’t agree with every decision, of course I don’t and I get frustrated watching the team. But stand back and look at what he was able to do when he had resources, his best players weren’t being shipped out, we weren’t bogged down by injuries, etc. We were flying. This season, for all his critics, I still think we’re about par for what should be expected given what’s happened.
Supporters just always want revolution, sweeping change and the axe to fall on someone and I think that mentality needs to change, particularly where managers are concerned. The stats I refer to in the post show how silly it is. Do we honestly believe all those clubs weren’t successful because of one man? It’s silly.
I actually think KJ is the glue holding this club together. Much like when McCarthy left and everything really went down the toilet, we shouldn’t underestimate the value of stability, particularly at a time when the club is in a state of limbo with a chairman looking to sell and a CEO only interested in balancing books and lecturing us on how to support our club.
Couldn’t agree with you more Thomas and well done for sticking your neck out for the negativity that is sure to come your way.
At the time I said be careful of what you wish for…and in a knee-jerk reaction they sack Mick with no plan B and we were in free fall. The same thing would happen again without Jackett.
Much more pertinent would be to really know what goes on behind the scenes. Did Jackett sanction the sale of Stearman and Benik? Did he sanction the input of a stream of mediocre midfielders when the club was crying out for like to like replacements of the above mentioned.
So we have no new owner who is going to throw cash at the club, and this year is the last of our parachute payments therefore we have to live within our means. Hence the youth policy and acquisitions from lower leagues.
So in the age of belt tightening might I put forward a suggestion that a certain Mr Jez Moxey might consider returning a chunk of his sizable salary to the club as a goodwill gesture. (If I read the accounts correctly £400k/annum + £50k into a pension plan.)
On the same theme am I correct in believing that Mrs Moxey runs the clubs’ catering and is currently charging £2.20 for an oxo cube and a cup of hot water, let alone almost double the cost of a chocolate bar? If so, what profit is accrued? how much (if any) is returned to the club? how did her get the contract in the first place?
Anybody smell any nepotism here?
Moxey believes in keeping nepotism in the family.
I’m with you Thomas.
I think that there is a very interesting book to be written by a certain Mr KJ when all this skullduggery is done and dusted and the two Ms are nowt but distant memories. Whether he should be writing it now is a matter of opinion but I respect his right to keep schtum for the moment until circumstances change – hopefully for the better.
All supporters have a right to criticise the coach but, for a lot of fans, the grass will always be greener. I suspect that if KJ picked the excact team demanded by some critics, and they didn’t perform, it would be solely down to ‘bad coaching’.
We have to accept that with the currently available squad we are at best a mid table side and even the great Stan Cullis couldn’t make a silk purse out of this particular Moxey’s ear.
Absolutely spot on Thomas.
See you at the Bash
I’m also with you Thomas. I suspect some of those calling for KJ’s head were more than happy when we looked like getting into the play-offs last season. Finishing 7th last season was anyway a major over-acheivement. As Sako was going to leave, Dicko was quickly long-term injured (shortly followed by Graham) and Afobe apparently had a buy-out clause in his contract it is fairly clear now that we had no right to expect any more than a season of transition. Kj’s job in handling that transition has only been made harder by Morgan publicly announcing his intention to sell. The question to be answered is not ‘who could do a better job than KJ’ but ‘who would possibly want to take over the club in its current situation’ ?
Quite frankly I refuse to be bullied here by you editor types …and I don’t think I deserved to be reprimanded in such a way particularly in front of my peers… I’m deeply upset by your corrective comments…
On a last note I think that KJ should just f**k
Off but I’m slightly biased..
Here’s to the new season..
Nobody’s reprimanding you Steve. It’s an exchange of views (without that, what’s the point of the blog?) and I think generally speaking more people seem to be in your camp than mine mate.
Thomas…mate, I was just Jesting..lol
Staffordian wit..
COYW
That’s what caused the confusion “a Staffordian being witty”
Your’e havin a giraffe.
I’m with you Steve.
The implication that KJ is to be stood up for I find ridiculous.
If he is not making the decisions, he is a lackey.
He will stay because no one else will come.
But for sure he is weak and from the hue of his cheeks, an alcoholic.
Ward and Vokes to score….
That’s a pretty outrageous conclusion to make about someone just from the look of their complexion.
A friend of mine has exactly the same ‘hue of his cheeks’ and it is brought about by over work and stress, certainly not alcohol.
Yeah but his does drink 10 pints of beer a day…apparently makes you indecisive…
Thomas.. it would be fascinating to see the outcome of a ‘keep or sack KJ’ vote here on this blog and keep the poll running for a while ..
‘Wolves blog’ is an educated cross section of Fans ..the outcome I believe would be representative and accurate…….
Politics and religion have no place on a blog. Feckin statistics even less.
Who was it famously said, if the statistics look bad at the end of the year, change the statistics.
:-))
You’re only allowed one vote mind!
Can’t see anything other than a defeat, which is why the dreamer in me says…….
Kenny’s Wolves 1 Mick’s ex-Wolves 1
and to pose the question if our old players (+Andre Gray) are top of the league
shouldn’t we be there also? Just a thought…
I have to agree with most of what you say Thomas, especially regarding KJ (sorry Showcase 🙂 ).
It’s always dangerous when we play against one of our old boys, and Burnley’s squad is packed with ’em. So the omens are not good. But why would we worry about Stephen Ward?
Either way, we have been stronger away from the Mol this season and Burnley’s run has to end sometime. Packed defence. All hands to the pumps. Desperate clearances. Carl unbeatable. etc etc.
I have no problem you being blind and oblivious..lol
This season The Championship has been notable for the number of sides who have started to look like ‘nailed on’ automatic promotion candidates only to hit a sudden dip in results.
Brighton, Boro’, Hull have all been there – and now it’s Burnley’s turn.
So who’s to say that their blip in form won’t start this weekend?
Just about everybody who has seen us play over the last few weeks that’s who!
Football may be a funny old game but I really can’t see anything but a defeat here.
And the fact that they have so many of our ex players waiting to bite us in the bum makes a loss even more likely. But I still can’t find it in my soft, sentimental (forget the senti) old self to predict a defeat.
I wonder what the record is for the length of time a striker goes without scoring?
Is there an equivalent of The Golden Boot award for that?
‘The Wonky Welly’, ‘The Dire Dap’, ‘The Piss Poor Plimsoll’ – other suggestions welcome.
I think, if there was, we might be in for a trophy this season.
No prizes for who would win it.
Let’s hope that if he’s picked he makes me eat my words tomorrow.
The Couldn’t Score In A Brothel Creeper’?
Very good. I like that.
Doogle, Mickey and Goofy are already in the White House
Stuwolf, you are gonna have to stump up my deposit, by the time I convert dollars to pounds and mail it to you, the Bash will be over.
Dont worry, Twixo is good for it!
And I’ll have the 26 quid menu, I’m on a diet.
?
Fowb
Sorted mucker.
Looks like I will have to cancel Kenny Jackett for the meal though.
I told you it was a bad Idea, you get me in some trouble you do.
I’ll stand your deposit, can I have last years back along with this one.?
For the record,
I would bin KJ in a heartbeat, if that’s called coaching then I’m feckin Ding Lei, Iv’e seen
better standard of footy at my 11 year old Grandsons game on a Saturday morning.
Very soon the crowds will be bigger as well.
10121 bought the Early Bird by the way.
The old saying, the Early bird keeps the Kenny.
🙂
FOkj
Well Stuey …that is a masterpiece of words …..I tek theeee hat off to yo lad ……
I remember being at Wembley for the Sherpa van trophy and entering the stadium through the burnley fans , ( decent fans I thought) then being engulfed by hoards of Wolves, outnumbering them by thousands! Then the game. Brilliant, then chatting to a few burnley fans after and realising that they used to be one of the old traditional clubs with a decent history, but I felt a little sorry for them tbh thinking how far ahead we were and how they would probably never see the good times again!!!! Yes it’s a funny old game.
Burnley 4 wolves 2
Cannot agree that Jackett is the right man for the job, sorry but he just isn’t. A really nice person I know but his level is mid-table 2nd division i.e. where we are now. Very limited in his ability, his tactical appreciation, his game management, his approach, his vision etc. For me the sooner he goes the better – obviously alongside the other dead wood in Morgan, Moxey and Thelwell.
As for the team no doubt Kenny will pick another team designed for a bore-draw (for that is about the height of his imagination) with the same personnel including 3rd division talent such as Sigurdason, Saville and Byrne and no doubt he will continue his spoilt kid act and leave McDonald and Mason on the bench again.
Personally I would pick the following team – assuming they are fit – and go and play football, entertain the fans and try and win the game for a change;
Ikeme
Iorfa Batth Hause Doherty
Coady McDonald
Hunte Mason Helan
Zyro
Subs: McCarthy, Deslandes, Price, Ronan, Byrne, Enobakhare, Sigurdason
As for the outcome, who knows, could be anything. Head says we will lose 0-3 but heart rules head especially where Wolves are concerned so I am going for a 2-1 win but based on MY starting line-up rather than Kenny’s.
p.s. anyone know what the Early Bird sales figures are? No word from the Club of course which suggests it must a poor number.
I respect Thomas’s views they are always considered and knowledgeable. His tolerance and commitment have held this blog together and made it what it is.
I do agree with Thomas on the managerial merry-go-round but dont share his faith in KJ. Its not just a matter of turning on him for one mediocre season or a few dodgy decisions. During the long summer of his appointment i looked throughly at his record at Millwall and was staggered at the number of players he had used. You cannot build and mould a team that way. I have also not been won over by his personality. He takes his job very seriously, a good man to have on the firm maybe, but too limited for a really good man manager, Not enough focal point or bonding nor an enduring source of inspiration for the players.
I do get all the arguments that there is
currently no better alternative and i still wont say that i am simply ‘calling for his head’.
10,000ish early birds. Down 1600. Ish
When Williamson is fully fit, does he come in for Hause or Batth on current form?
Going for an unlikely score in this season of unlikely results.
Sent you an e-mail Chris.
Burnley have a lot to play for and we have rock all.
Vokes, Gray . . . . . . . I shudder.
Regarding the Bloggers Ball and whether it should be on Friday or Saturday:-
Perhaps it would be best if we held it both nights.
Kuddly Kenny lovers Friday, That Jerk Jackett outers Saturday.
Then we could have another meal for Moxey lovers.
We’ll choose a day they’re closed for that.
Be careful what you wish for…..
Mrs Moxey is doing the catering, Jez found out there was somewhere else Wolves fans were eating and said, ” he’s not having any of that going on” so he’s got er in doors another contract.
I think Bedford is taking out a contract of his own.
Sent you an e-mail Doog
Kightly, Ward, Vokes, Jones – 4 horsemen of the apocalypse ready to rain goals, goals and more goals down on the heads of the Wolves.
Well they will be smitten and sent back to hell!…
Wolves appear to have no chance but then we are Wolves …..
With that in mind, and me just having taken my medication, I am going for a 2-1 win to Wolves.
Daft & Happy
🙂
…Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Titch!
Where’s Dave Dee?!! All Wiltshire boys 🙂
Hold tight !
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTyqwwAitQI
If we keep our shape,0 as we did at Middlesboro’, I’d be quite happy with no shots and a draw.
Good luck to Burnley and I hope they get promoted. Nice to see a so called small town club succeed, shame on our owner for not showing the same mettle or desire, but that’s been covered before.
If Ward is going to play left back then I would play Byrne to spend the afternoon knocking the ball past him and leaving him for dead for pace. Problem is who the hell is going to put any cross coming in for a goal. Mason if he plays, but who else.
Frankly the rugby at 8pm is of far more interest to me, but I see no reason why playing away we can`t damage limit and make it difficult for the league leaders. So a 1-0 loss for me, anything better would be s significant bonus.
Yes Mark Rugby has my focus tomorrow too. Can’t see anything other than a defeat I am afraid.
Wolf man , “happy with no shots and a draw ” tongue in cheek I hope , otherwise how desperate can we get ha ! I thought I was getting a bit negative lately just hoping we get a goal ?
Just being realistic. Its ‘park the bus’ time – again !
I agree with Bedford Wolf, most expect WWFC to get bugger all from this game so lets go and ATTACK and entertain the visiting fans.
Still expect to lose but lets score a couple and give the fans something to shout about.
Really want Stephen Ward to be tortured on the left hand side so please play Bryne and give him free rein to attack at will.
Bard,
Hate to say it but I’m with you on this.
Kenny won’t risk Byrne – he’ll play a defensive formation with a loan striker, which will be our downfall.
We’ll get overrun in midfield with Mason to score off the bench.
My forecasts this season have been dire, mainly because no one knows which Wolves team are going to turn up.
Hope I’m hopelessly wrong again!
COYW!
After a few fairly typical mid-table performances, I wonder if we’re due a bit of a shoeing to bring us back to reality and realise how threadbare our squad is at the moment. Can’t help but think Burnley might be the side to hand out that beating.
Can’t see a win here but still won’t predict a loss! Just sheer stubbornness I guess. Let’s just get this season over with & start again.
Come on Wolves!!!
Tough game against Wolves old-boys. Unless they play like they’re still being coached by Mick and Clipboard, I fear a defeat. The sight of Stephen Ward running backwards with Byrne bearing down on him does sound hopeful though, so we might get on the score sheet.
Kenny’s just going to do what he wants to do .. Which will defy plausibility or logic .. It will be deja vu all over again .. Or Groundhog Day (take your pick) .. Surprising picks, surprising subs, aimless, lethargic, futile play .. Too few substitutions too late .. Then after another loss, more statements of “what we didn’t do” and “what need to do next time” ..
At the next home match I would love to see a Red Card protest .. Along with a suitable chant .. Maybe “Morgan, Moxey, Jackett .. Out, Out, Out!” .. Or maybe “One Stan Cullis, there’s only One Stan Cullis … One Stan Cullis .. There’s only one Stan Cullis .. “
I was wrong! I am sorry!
I think they are nailed on for promotion. They have timed there run to perfection and I just can’t see them sliping up. It’s hard being as they have some of our explayers. Those players were deemed not good enough by many myself included. I can’t see us getting anything at all.
Can’t see past a defeat I’m afraid !
I carnt see lighting striking twice, I mean we expected to lose to Derby and we won all be it at home still it was a massive surprise I carnt see a reapt against Burnley tomorrow and I know they have home advantage.
Burnley are where we want to be but they’ve got there by KEEPING there better players and INVESTING in QUAILITY not QUANTITY they have an owner who has backed his MANGER not COACH and certainly not a ” DRECTOR of FOOTBLL ”
This fixture always reminds me of the opening game of 1992 I think it was me and my brother and 3,000 plus Wolves fans descended on Turf Moore the away fans we housed to the side of the pitch and it was terracing and there was a fair few Wolves fans in seats behind the goal where the players come out.
Bully scored the only goal a header and me our kid and the whole 3,000 plus Wolves fans went mental I love to see a repeat scoreline tomorrow …….but there’s no chance with our dodgy defence..!
the ex Wolves players have improved since they left; they’ve been winning against much better teams than us, and are quite likely to give us a real trouncing.
I couldn’t believe we started without Macca or Mason last week – I understand Zyro was being given a gentle return. If we do play our best team and go out to win we just may get a result, but I have lost all faith in KJ’s selection policy.
So it’s Wolves 1st team against Wolves 2nd team.
Can’t see anything but a loss but Mason must play.
More doom and gloom.
I’d love to predict a draw but in all honesty we should have lost last week to the Bluenoses.
Against a team in form and them being at home … sorry fellas buts its a spanking….
Sent you an e-mail Twix
Wolves will win for reasons I cannot comprehend or explain.
I don’t know if I’m a ‘blogger’ so am unclear if I’d be eligible for the ball. Is there criteria or does being an occasional poster and frequent predictor make me one?
Thx.
Of course you’re a blogger … There’s no criteria other than making your thoughts known via this site.
Believe me Finsbury Park Wolf …..you will be more than welcome…even your blog name links you to our great (once great sorry) club…… proof that it’s in your blood.!
It’s an occasion when we can meet up, chat and ave a good loff.
I just checked on your predictions for the year …. you’re well and truly …one of us mate….28 predictions …you’re a big player Finsbury !!
Finsbury.
London loyal wolf came last year and he lives in London so get yerself down here and we will make you really welcome.
I think we’ll lose this game by the odd goal. 2-1 Burnley.
Great to read the support for KJ. For me this season of injuries, youth and austerity could have easily snowballed into disaster. It ain’t been pretty but the snowball has been stopped!
I doubt Vokes, Gray and Ward will find it hard to be motivated for this one. Lets hope we get a few breaks ourselves to make a match of it.
Been racking my brain trying to remember when I was a kid in the early seventies , why it is that I ended up supporting wolves when around me was villa , Sandwell, Stoke ,Man U , Everton , Forest, Liverpool , blues , I think even cov and Derby .. Oh and man city were good back then,
After a lot of soul searching I remembered that it was because I liked the wolves and I did not like any of the others !
C mon wanderers.. A win tomorrow !
Draw possibly? Depends on team selection so probably a defeat. Still in Kenny’s camp though.
I can live in hope at getting the score right.
I live in hope that we have a buyer; that we have a new CEO;…….
Burnley should bombard us – hope Ikeme has an inspirational game. Somehow squeak a lucky point
Backs to the wall, the post comes to the rescue thrice, Zyro squeezes one in via a deflection. Well, you can dream can’t you?
For the record, I’m pro KJ. on the whole. Can’t wait for the new buyer whoever that is, and for next season. I like that we’re a young team, there are some tremendous prospects amongst them and I’d like to see more bloodied.
We both see things more or less the same Dalmation. Remember how we fell apart last season when Nouha was out injured?
Without any summer signings(which there probably won’t be anyway), the best of our current team, plus Dicko and Graham up front, should be able to rough up most Championship defences.
Williamson, if he’s not too old by the time he gets fit, can certainly shore up the defence in partnership with Hause. Dangerous Dave and Henry are both capable midfield options when they return, and our youngsters will all be another year older and more experienced.
So, in conclusion, I’m really looking forward to next season with hopes high.
Mind you, I had high hopes for this season too……….. 🙁
Oh yeah, I also have high hopes of seeing many of you at the ball at seasons end. 🙂
We’ve certainly missed Nouha this season, and paired with an interested Benik Afobe I think we’d have torn up most defences. But hey ho, I’d much rather be a Wolves supporter than say a follower of a Manchester or London giant who are systematically ruining what is essentially a simple, beautiful game.
I agree with the comment about neither rhyme nor reason having much to do with events in this season’s championship – and also have happy memories of watching Wolves 7 Burnley 2 in the dear old days when the security of the South Bank was entrusted to one regular Police Constable who looked like Dixon of Dock Green ably supported by a Special Constable who looked exactly like Charles Hawtry. Sorry Burnley, all things come to an end ….
A lucky goal if Mason plays. Otherwise it’ll be 0-3.
Watched Middlesborough v Hull last night and the quality was awful. Yet Misdlesborough managed to totally outclass us without moving out of 2nd gear. It shows just how far behind any real challenge for promotion we are.
There is a man with a van and a white coat in my size outside.
Too late the van is already full.
We won’t win but I can’t tip against us.
An ugly hard fought 0-0 draw will do.
Bad news! I have just booked a room at A Park View for the Saturday night 7th May so will be attending the ball bash. Getting my balls bashed is a bit like supporting Wolves anyway so nothing new there! p.s. StuWolf has promised to sing the complete version of Lyin’ Eyes after a few vodkas – with a slight change of words at the end, instead of “honey, you can’t hide your lyin’ eyes” it will be “Moxey, you can’t hide your lyin’ eyes”.
Brilliant see you there mate.
Can only be a trouncing.
don’t like saying we’ll lose but can’t see us getting anything out of this game, hope the lads prove me wrong COYW
Sorry, but I can’t see anything but a loss and one of old boys to get on the scoresheet.
I’m going for an upset, come on me babbies!
Okay so this is what I read.. 47 attempt blocked Zyro. 56 attempt blocked Doherty. 57 attempt saved Wallace. 58 attempt missed Helan. 60 post hit Price. 60 attempt blocked Helan. 60 corner. 61 attempt blocked Wallace (left foot). 61 attempt blocked Wallace (right foot). 61 attempt missed Coady 67 attempt missed Zyro. 68 attempt saved Saville. 68 GOAL Burnley.
WTF. All that pressure and chances and not one taken. I am proved right again and again. We MUST get a goal scorer in.
I am getting tired and bored of the feking obvious!
STILL pissed off. BATTH ? WHere the feck was a striker.
Brillant point though !
Centre Halves score from corners all the time Brompton. Part of the job.
I agree mate. Just making a point about our 15 attempts at goal and not one STRIKER scoring.
Great point tbh as I was expecting us tp get a real thumping.
See you at the Bash hopefully.
I call that comic timing mate!
It was mate….. I was really going off on one and BATTH shuts me up.
Well done wolves
Well done Kenny jackett getting a point at the top of the table side
Burnley were lucky not to get beat from what I heard
Well done Danny ( another player people have been saying should go )
So well done everyone .
Up the wolves
15 attempts on goal to Burnley’s 8 and 4 on target to their 1 (the goal) and 7 corners to their 3! Can’t wait to hear from those at the game. StuWokf texted me a few times and said we played really wel. Wonder how Wallace played? Great point though still miffed that McDonald and Mason benched again.
Thank god for the internet, lost my voice, pure adrenaline game this one.
Trust Wolves to prove us all wrong.
Team looked balanced, settled, free flowing, winning balls, fighting, running at them, closed them down.Get the message.
Best team Performance of the season so far, epic stuff against a team supposed to be the best in the league, my arse is a kipper. We were the better team by far,
Ikeme, did what he had to when called upon, not at fault for the goal, but could have come out for it.
Doherty. Another solid game as each week passes he rubs my nose in the shite because I said he should go. What do I know?
Hause. Absolutely outstanding game, negated the winger who was class, after a couple of near misses got the measure of him and in the end he was swapped over to the other side and marked out of the game.
Batth, I would have slated him for heading right to players feet and passing like a granny, but his goal was a pearler off Byrne’s corner.
Coady, ran his feckin socks off, tackled like a man possesed, worked well as a solid stable midfield, another solid game.
Price, marshalled the game from every area of the pitch, smallest guy on the pitch was winning headers WTF gave his all.
Saville, got over last weeks blip, was Marshall No 2 on his side of the pitch, everything seemed to go through him and he was solid, he’s got some fight in him for a Southerner.
Helan, Played better and actually listened to the team and passed the ball at the right time, strong on the ball for a change.
Zyro, my MOTM for his blistering pace, skill running with the ball, possession and vision, taken off because he was spent by then
Wallace, I don’t know what they feed them at Millwall but he’s come back like a demon, his work rate and ball control down the right side was outstanding.
Subs,
Byrne, as he came on Price grabbed him and bent his ear and it worked he had a brilliant subs role, his cross for the goal was measured to the inch. Batth took it in his usual style almost burst the net.
Mason, came on and linked straight up with the style of play we were using to hold the ball up and keep the game in our favour.
Siggy, another one came on with fresh legs and caused them the problems that kept the pressure on that lead to the goal.
Wolves….. What a team effort, a balanced side and a well deserved draw against Top of the league. We made them look average, bloody average.
KJ.
Top Coach can’t fault him, brilliant tactician, used all three subs at just the right time, the man for the job, (I’m a two faced prat)
And the Shite lost, can it get any better?
Good reading StuWolf. Good reading.
Sounds like a really battling performance but has the Wolves injury hoodoo struck again?
How unlucky can you get?
Stu – next game 2nd April home to Super Mick’s tractor boys, what team would you pick (assume Wallace is fit)? Mason? McDonald? It’s a toughie based on your cracking match report.
Mate,
I honestly believe he will go. But to be fair I really thought it was a complete performance so where would we bring him on. I personally have thought Saville is getting better each week, I think KJ see’s him as the McDonald replacement but when he is on the ball he is crisper and faster with his distribution. We destroyed every Burnley build up today by running at them we didn’t give them a second.
But here I go.
Ikeme
Doherty, Hause, Williamson, Iorfa
Coady, Price, Saville
Henlan, Zyro, Mason
Subs. Marinez, batth, Deslandes, McDonald, Byrne, Hunte , Conor Ronan
Sounds like a really encouraging performance. Well done the lads and kj. Let’s hope we can have an enjoyable last few games.
Great point ,deserved more by the sound of it.well done all.
Workman like performance. UTW.
Screw Trump, Jackett for Prez!!!!
Moxey for President! Then send him on a night out at the theatre.
Or come see me in Texas,
Dallas in particular, in a open top limo!!!
Shit losing, Leicester rollin’ on, cant get much better than this……………..
Oh, bollox, greasel and rudolph still around.
For Christ sake…
We Drawed…. Again… Against a team who are top of a very poor league..
Get a grip folks..
Yes its Better than losing but 14 attempts and we score 1 in injury time…
Still need to do Much Much better
Sorry Nige.
Try as you may your’e not getting the last Brownie. (Notting Hill)
It was a thouroughly entertaing game of footy, after all the feckin Shite Iv’e had to watch this season I for one am getting feckin excited. A shit team performing well in a shit league against the shit top of the table team, but it was still worth all the effort of going.
