Sportingbet give us a 1 in 50 chance of staying up this weekend.

That’s generous.
Wolves have already been defeated 13 times away. Brighton have lost just 3 games at the Amex Stadium.
Wolves need a handsome winning margin. Brighton have conceded just 26 goals at home.
Wolves are relying on Barnsley and Peterborough to both lose. Between them, they’ve lost 3 times in their last 20 games.
Wolves need Palace to heavily dent Peterborough’s goal difference. The Eagles haven’t even won any of their last 9 league matches.
This isn’t just a mountain, it’s Everest.
The bookies very rarely get it this wrong. More odds available here.
Wolves
If Wolves do make the impossible possible, I think it will be because Palace discover some form and put Peterborough to the sword. We’ll have a job on our hands just to get the win. This is the team I’d send out:

Jamie O’Hara is again available for selection. It will be interesting to see if Saunders throws him straight back in. Sako must start in my opinion. He was sluggish in his late cameo last weekend, but one big effort from him could make all the difference.
There’s no point throwing the kitchen sink at them from the start and getting picked off. We need to get ahead and look to nick a few goals as the game progresses depending on events at Selhurst Park.
Predictions
9 people correctly thought we’d do the unthinkable and lose to Burnley.
Clive and Tetthenhall Wolf both got the scoreline spot on to scoop a double. The other 7 take a point.
As we move into the final game of the season, it’s still up from grabs at the top of the Prediction League:

Ash K is in the driving seat, but alf white is just a point back and still in the race. Steppenwolfe isn’t out of the game either but needs even more good fortune than Wolves to take the title. Lets have a clean fight lads with no tactical predictions. It’s more fun to make it interesting.
I will as always look to dig out some prizes. Apologies to Kowloon Wolf, last year’s winner who I’ve yet to post a prize to. I’ll visit the club megastore next week and pick up something special for everyone.
As for a final prediction, I’ll go for a narrow victory that ultimately sees us relegated.
2-1.
Up The Wolves.

3-2 defeat. Hello League 1…
Who would have thought it would come to this 12 months is a long time in football, and here we waiting for the final nail in an other relegation. I still believe getting rid of McCarthy was right the only thing wrong was the timing, he should have been sacked after the 2.2 draw with Swansea in fact no he should have gone after the final game against Blackburn when we stopped up by the skin of our teeth and by the way I’m not talking in hindsight I as well as many of you were saying this at the very time. The big mistake Morgan made was not planning for that not having a list of candidates drawn up and again at the time I was screaming for O’Neil this I blogged at the time. Morgan has made some right decisions but at the wrong times, the new Stan Cullis Stand yes the ground could have done with a revamp I understand he wanted to put his stamp on the place especially being a builder but again the timing was wrong we were not established in Premier League the Gates didn’t warrant a bigger capacity yet. But we’re he really went wrong was the managers ie McCarthy and especially TC could carry on making a silk purse out of a pigs ear the team and the manager/ coach had run its course the tank was empty the grafting/ putting a shift in would not be enough any more the team needed major investment to maintain our Premier League Status this did not happen and as the say the rest is history stale game and went and Dean bless him his like a rabbit caught in the headlights of a ten ton truck as for the result 5.1 to the tesco
Cassidy quote “Dean bless him his like a rabbit caught in the headlights of a ten ton truck”
nice analogy there, got me a grim in the morning:)
How do you predict the totally unpredictable?
What’s the secret Ash K?
After last week the sensible prediction would be an absolute hammering but with this lot you can never tell.
However, having read all the stories about splits and general unrest in the dressing room and the fact that relegation is a virtual certainty, I am going with my gut feeling that there isn’t enough heart in the team – let alone ability – to put up much of a fight.
I just hope that after the inevitable happens things change big time at the Molineux.
Moxey has to go, Saunders has to go, a Director of Football has to be brought in, together with either an experienced and proven Manager/coach or an eager and intelligent Player/manager who can rattle a few cages, get rid of the dross and inspire the young talent we have to bring a bit of pride back to the club.
Meanwhile… Brighton 4-1 Wolves
Whilst I can’t give away all my “secrets of tipping success” until the season is finished, my first rule of thumb is that the result is likely to maximise disappointment for Wolves fans.
That would led me to tip a narrow Wolves win, which ultimately would be a tease when other results don’t go our way.
Second rule is to take into account the facts on the ground – we are so poor at the moment that we can’t even raise our game to get that win to get the worst result (eg go down on goal difference)… therefore
Brighton 2-Wolves 1
2-1 Brighton. We’ll score in the last couple of minutes, just as a token gesture. Crawley, here we come.
More interested in the winner of the predictor to be honest!
The other Albion 2 Wolves 1
Sad, sad times.
In other news. I loved the #wolvesblamegame on twitter. Very amusing.
I predict at the final whistle the players will drop to turf stunned like they gave everything and nearly stayed up. 1-0 Brighton.
Hard to believe this time last week I was so looking forward to watching my beloved Wolves v Burnley. Come 5pm the following day I wondered if I had some sort of mental illness that enabled me to sit through 95 mins watching a Wolves *team* struggle to manage even the basics of football.
Now we are on the eve of what is probably our last match in the Championship for a season or two.
I don’t believe in miracles and I don’t expect to see my first one tomorrow.
Brighton to win 3-1
At least my bunion won’t suffer this week 🙂
P.S.
I have just watch this programme which was on Channel 4 many years ago and it’s available via the 4 on demand website. It’s funny, sad and totally un-pc by today’s standards. However, certain parts of the programme reminded me of Wolves…
http://www.channel4.com/programmes/11-men-against-11/4od#2928660
If your easily offended by certain comments about other people’s appearances then please do not watch it!
P.P.S.
O’Hara in for Doumbia PLEASE !
I predict a Brighton 0 Wolves 2 victory.
I predict a summer in which, Morgan, Moxey and Saunders will stay.
They will reorganise, for Redrow’s benefit, into a Division Three side.
Our owners will plead poverty, while Saunders will try to woe us with his verbal nonsense.
There will be plenty of ‘goings’, (finance before football), and we will start the season as confused as a Saunders sentence.
I do hope I am wrong….
However Moxey does not have to go, nor does Saunders, nor does a director of football need to be appointed.
These people care about their salary rather than Wolves.
Also will Baath and Davis be here next season?
At this moment in time there seems nothing to be optimistic about at Wolves.
We are a laughing stock…
On one site I read this:
“Spillers were going to back Wolves but thought that ‘Winalot’ on their shirts was not appropriate”…
Thanks Mr Morgan.
2-1 to Wolves.
Brighton will score near the end and we’ll be relegated.
Brighton 4 Wolves 1
A thumping is on the cards here I am afraid. 4-0 Brighton
Totally agree with theDOOGooder -a director of football is critical if we are to move forward. The academy players are the future now. Looking forward to Cassidy and Griffiths leading the line – oh for just half the impact messrs Bull and Mutch made!
Let’s get this sorry season over with as quickly as possible, clear out the dross and look upwards instead of down.
Have to agree with the bookies . They are rarely wrong . The trouble l have though is l can see the other results going our way . That leaves our spineless losers with a possible opportunity .
Can they at least go for it ? ..unlike against Burnley .
But , it is ‘ star wars ‘ day – after all . I’ve been foolishly optimistic all season so won’t stop now .
Brighton 1 Wolves 3 .
We’ll get absolutely thumped.
We have a team of wimps led by as manager who is the biggest wimp of them all. I think back to Cardiff in 2003 and (for all the faults of that team) we had big game players. When the big occasion came, there wasn’t a team in the country that team couldn’t beat because they liked the spotlight. This team has no one of that type and Brighton will run riot.
I want Saunders out.
I want Moxey and Morgan to beg Owen Coyle on their hands and knees to take over.
I want Graham Taylor installed as Director of Football.
None of these things will happen.
Brighton 3-0 Wolves
We needed to play the last game with the guts and spirit _ i_ _ a showed just the other day. We didn’t because that shower wouldn’t know how to string more than two passes together and need Sat Nav to find the goal.
when a fight and performance were required they failed on all counts.
Will probably get battered against Brighton, well i hope so, to fight now and get a result against all probability would be a slap in the face to every fan.
Don’t get me wrong i would rather we stay up but ……..no i don’t think so.
Went to the Wolves Museum this week. Reminded me of all the real heroes we have seen at our club in the past. The current FIRST TEAM are an absolute disgrace with no bottle.
We need 3 results to go right for us. Thing is, I can’t see us winning our own game.
I reckon, we could take the lead and still end up losing. Prove me wrong Wolves!
Brighton 4 Wolves 1
Brighton 3 Wolves 0. No more to say.
Wolves to draw 1-1. Sako. Then were down as Peterborough grab a win.
whatever the result the wolves will be back and we will still be right behind them….mad aye we ? but the long and short of it is – that’s football . who could follow man cite , man surrey os arse nal ? greedy boring no atmosphere and jonny come latelies as fans. look everyone on here .. we are wolves and our fans are some of the noisiest and the best !! nuff said …ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS A TAVERN WHERE WE USED TO RAISE A GLASS OR TWO!!!!!
OR THREE OR FOUR
where we used to whine away the hours….
its the only hope in this dull times!!
But i found this article in the geordie times… well worth a read
https://twitter.com/KGravil/status/307883919263539201/photo/1
OR THREE OR FOUR, THINKING OF THE THINGS WE USED TO DO !
OH AND WOLVES 5 -BRIGHTON 2 🙂
Go on then, i’ll take that. Mind you Brighton will have to score 5 own goals.
Whats worrying me is where our 2 are coming from..
whoops tother way round grandma !although you are less deluded than me 🙂 can we? will we? probably not but at least show us a game of football…please
Just followed the web-chat with Tim Nash on the E&S site.
Another ‘Fans Parliament’ – vacuous questions answered by a journalist anxious not to offend his source of stories. No questions of any real significance shown and hence no answers forthcoming on the issues that matter – the 3 MO’s – MOxey, MOrgan and MOney.
No great surprise there mate.
The E&S must get more from Wolves than they let on because to an outsider looking in, something doesn’t add up.
Tim Nash very rarely gets anything exclusive from them. The E&S website is usually a mirror image of the official site with the same quotes just regurgitated using a slightly different angle.
I seem to remember Tim mentioning he gets one on one time with the manager every week. If this is true, he’s simply not asking enough/the right questions, which is baffling when you only need look on Twitter for inspiration. Stuff like:
Why was Leigh Griffiths not retained in January (proper explanation please)?
Why is Peszko not playing?
Is Gorkks really better than Berra/Stearman/Batth? What qualities does he possess that they don’t?
Are Gorkks/Johnson better than Batth? If so, in what way?
Why was Nouha Dicko signed when he’s not even good enough to get into the team?
What areas of the team do you think are weakest?
It’s obvious that getting anything from Moxey/Morgan is nigh on impossible, but I think where the E&S fall down is at team level. Not enough direct questions are asked, resulting in the same old tired quotes.
The E&S should be a combination of tough interviews with players/manager and editorials. We get drips and drabs of both. On the rare occasion Tim/Martin put their own opinion out in the columns, we actually get some insight. For example:
http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2012/02/13/seeds-of-doubt-sown-when-transfer-funds-dried-up/
What’s painfully obvious from Tim’s web chat, as well as many of his columns is that he’s long since climbed into bed with Jez Moxey. They’re good mates. And when your regional reporter is in the back pocket of the club’s CEO, you get the squidgy, half-baked approach we have to suffer.
Very well said Thomas.
a proper investigation would probably unearth some dreadful stuff?! when can we begin…….ive spoken to the bbc to ask for dr who to give us a hand.. is he real ?
Surely there has to be a major statement to the fans as soon as relegation is confirmed hasnt there ? And i am not waiting to hear things like were hoping to keep Kasper Borkss ( 32 this year for Christs sake ! ).
Tim Nash and the Express & Star sitting on the fence as usual in stead of addressing the real issues. Fans Parliment in the words of my cockney work mate ” don’t make me laugh “
We’ll get hammered.
The only reason we’re not bottom is because Bristol City were out of their depth in this league. We’d be bottom if it were a proper relegation scrap.
I don’t beleive in miracles so looks like it will be 3-0 to brighton
Of course we are going to lose, we are awful, and barnsley will go down wiith us. The score? The normal 2-1 to them. They will control game and we will score late goal. Then what? Well saunders must go. Did he build Doncaster or his assistants, as they had better results after he left. Who would i have in? Coyle, curbishley, flitcroft or bowyer of blackburn. I would also like chris powell but he won’t leave charlton. Saunders football is awful, no angles run, no looking for space, no possession, no pressure, no defence, no tracking, no organisation and no tactics. Solbakken the same, but berra and johnson used to pass side ways numerous times before a big hoof. Do people realise how shocking how football as become. However, it won’t happens ad saunders will remian in charge and we will struggle in league one with our amateur football. Please wolves, for once, be inventive and innovative. I will watch you then but not this turgid mess.
41 years ago to the day, i was traveling up to Molineux for the first leg of the very first UEFA Cup Final. Today i’m trying to predict the result of a game that will surely relegate us to Division 3.
As you say Moxey, a very well run club.
Prediction? We’ll lose.
I was there too.
Don’t remember seeing you though.
It was the night that Martin Chivers demonstrated that he could be the complete centre forward when he was in the mood.
Typical that he should show it against us!
By the way, have you seen that ‘I am Kloot ‘ video yet?
38,000 there apparently. Who knows we could have been stood next to each other. If you’d been in front of me i wouldn’t have seen any of it, 6ft 4 and all. You can see the highlights on Youtube. Great second goal from Chivers but Parkes made the same mistake for the first and their goal at the Lane. Worth seeing for Waggy’s 30 yrd thunderbolt. Just like watching Doyle shoot today!
Yeah i checked out IAK on your site. Thought provoking video. Be interested to hear what you think when you see them at the festival.
Martin I was there too.Remember Elvis Parkes waving one of their goals goodbye.
Yeah, that was a bad memory.
My Mum always used to call Parkes ‘Engelbert’ because of an (apparent) likeness to Humperdink.
Yeah Alf, i watched the highlights on Youtube today. Parkes came for the cross and didn’t make it for Chivers first and then did most of his diving after the second had hit the net. He came and flapped at a cross for Spurs only goal at WHL as well. (IMO we were always short of a keeper good enough for that team in those days). And then Waggy cut in from the right and buried a 30yd screamer in off the post! Those WERE the days.
I was at both legs of that final.
The second leg, we all met in the Tavern at noon, and by 2 when we got on our special coach, we were already pissed.
Half way down the M1the coach driver refused to stop at the services, so we had to piss in the empty Newcastle brown bottles.
The only time that day, between noon at about 3 in the morning that we were NOT drinking was during the match.
We all met in Trafalgar Square at midnight to get on our special coach again, after running off a bunch of Spurms fans, and we still had a dozen or so crates of Newcastle brown to get through on the way back.
Needless to say we coped admirably, and Pat Banks even managed to drive Big Mark Davies and me back to Penn, in his blue Cortina, at 4 in the morning, absolutely wasted.
One of my footballing highlights, even though we lost.
Those truly were the days, my friends.
ahh those were thedays ! when it was almost illegal to drive sober…like the Spanish costa ! 🙂
2-1 wolves win….. and it won’t be enough.
I predict Brighton 1 Wolves 5
An early goal from King John Richards gets the party started, followed by a second after 20 minutes, this time a screamer from Kenny Hibbit. Brighton pull one back on the half hour,
Lofty just failing to get his hands to a grubber that sneaks into the bottom corner.
Second half gets underway and eight minutes in Waggy cuts in from the left wing and hits an unstoppable shot into the top right hand corner, the fans go wild. On the hour a cross from Wee Willie Car picks out Doog’s head and its 4-1. Then ten minutes from the end a Waggy corner finds an unmarked Frankie Munro and he powers it into the back of the net, we go into cruise control and celebrate a classic 5-1 win. Then Peterborough and Barnsley lose, although why we should be bothered about a third division and a fourth division side beats me.
The lads celebrate on the pitch with Bill McGarry being carried shoulder high as we seal that European spot for next season.
Thats my prediction…………………..what, you think I am living in the past , how dare you.
I was on you tube last night watching games from 72/73 and that side would have played our premierleague team off the park…id rather live in the past as the present is utterly depressing!
Until Moxey goes, living in the past is the only place to be.
at least there were great memories to watch again and again and again and…oh you get the picture big mart. WE ARE WOLVES !
Everybody relax!
The Bishop of Wolverhampton has written a special prayer to ensure our survival.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2318941/Wolves-FC-pray-help-Championship-survival-battle.html?ico=sport^headlines
Is it just me, or is it just a little bit tacky?
Anyway, shouldn’t it end:-
“…As we forgive Morgan who trespasses against us
And lead us not into Division three
But deliver us from Moxey
For thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory
Wolves for ever and ever ay we!”
DOOGooder, that kid in the photo, with I’m guessing his dad, on the link brought a tear to my eye.
that’s our new striker ..don’t cry 🙂
I have to tell you US Wolf, i was right behind that kid. He joined the pitch invasion at the end and when a steward tried to stop him, he turned round and gave him the finger! It was quite sad.
Strangely the anger I felt last week has subsided and I don’t think it will be too painful when relegation is finally confirmed tomorrow, I believe this is called being resigned to the fact…
I actually think other results will go our way but the chaps on 15-35k a week will once again bottle it, but hey, they will be off on holiday on Sunday so they can forget all about the shite summer they have left us all with….see you at Bescot next season everyone!!
Brighton 3 – 0 Wolves
The best thing about this game is that it will be all over before I wake up (7hrs time difference) which means I won’t waste 2 hours of my Saturday morning listening to the utter dross free radio 80’s put out via the complete rip off that is Wolves player.
So this is my last day supporting a Championship team. I think after 40 years of supporting this team, I may take a hiatus for a while. I can’t take this anymore, I can’t take the gd awful ramblings of the inept idiot also known as Dean saunders. I can’t take anymore of the bullshit that flows from the mouth of the Greasel. I simply can’t take anymore.
So long everyone, I can’t even say it was a pleasure!
Am going for a 1-0 to Wolves but my head tells me otherwise.
Who knows what will happen in the Summer but very simply if Moxey is still there. Expect more stupidity and King Canute like behaviour.
The guy really does think that if he thinks and says it, it will be so.
There is no point in any other appoinntments unless he goes first.
Going Brighton 3 Wolves 1
I can’t see the Posh, Tykes results mattering a toss.
Back in the Barnsley’s away game preview I recall writing “No win = relegation”. There were numerous chances after that for changing things but the players didn’t grab many of them.
Good news – the season ends tomorrow. Looking ahead to a hungrier, younger and more entertaining Wolves team in Div 3, although due to lack of media coverage I won’t be seeing much of this. UTW!
Brighton to win 4-2.
To be honest Im glad the nightmare is over well for at least 3 months, i looked at the potential fixtures for next season very depressing it looks. I suppose knowing wolves we will go a goal up give us hope before falling away so wolves 1 Brighton 3
I’m going for 3-0 to wolves, posh losing 2-0 and barnsley losing 2-0.wolves stay up on the 1 goal dif.
Wake me up when its all over.UTW.
The way this season has gone I can see all 3 teams in the relegation dog fight losing. Adding further insult to injury, by heavy losses!
We should never have gotten in to this mess in the first place. We deserve to go down. It’s not what I want be hopefully we will bounce back stronger!
Brighton 2-1 Wolves
Only a 100 mile trip for me this weekend :-). I really think we will win this one, brighton already guaranteed 4th and will probably rest key players. Im going 3-1 wolves (& no i havent been on the drink yet lol). As for barnsley & peterborough anything can happen, robins will want to get one over on the tykes, whilst palace will be wanting to set up a playoff semi final with rivals brighton. Touch and go or have i totally lost the plot? 😉
could you imagine the carnage if palace met brighton at Wembley?
Brighton to win after Saunders decides to shut up shop again. 4-0 to Brighton
Ok – Paddy Power have a tenner from me! If this happens, bring yourself along to the Lamb & Flag, Covent Garden on Wednesday night and help me drink the bar dry!!! No Wolves top – no drink!!!

Madness, madness, they call it madness
Madness, madness, they call it madness
It’s plain to see that is what they mean to me
Madness, madness, they call it gladness
Madness, madness, they call it madness
Madness, madness, they call it madness
I’m about to explain that someone is losing their brain
Hey, madness, madness, I call it gladness
Propaganda ministers, propaganda ministers
I’ve got a heavy due, I’m gonna walk all over you, ’cause
Madness, madness, they call it madness
Well if this is madness then I know I’m filled with gladness
It’s gonna be rougher, it’s gonna be tougher, pa-da-da, pa-da-da
And I won’t be the one who’s gonna suffer
Oh no, I won’t be the one who’s gonna suffer
You are gonna be the one, you
Erm OK seriously…I’m sure if someone pricked Saunders (and I’m sure Messers Morgan and Moxey do this on a daily basis) but you know with a pin then he’ll just pop. In an interview on Sky Sports and he looked like the most half arsed idiot you could ever have the displeasure to meet. He just exudes nonsense. On the radio the other day – Savage said Saunders was always the one at the back of the bus cracking jokes and everyone wanted to be his mate. I’m sure Savage was being euphemistic. And we have him as the boss of our beloved club, a fuckin clown!!! We are dead and buried with this mug in charge FFS!! Get rid Morgan and get rid of the FF Moxey C****. Oh God why me – why Wolves!!!!
Incoggers while your still alive theres hope for everyone hic.
I hope to see the old-timers out on the field tomorrow, it would be totally unacceptable to let the youngsters play in this game, even though I would expect a better game with more passion and fight. We will of course get well and truly stuffed. Please no more talk of a director of football for now, we are a 3rd division side and need to get used to that for a while at least. Bring on next season and a vacancy for CEO. Brighton 4 – 0 Wolves.
id like to see a return of the STOCKS in Wolverhampton …..maybe a few more than 15 of em though …not sure who to put in em though ? 🙂
Well let’s start with Moxey. I’m sure he would collect plenty of rotten eggs. Oh wait a minute he’s already got some.
All season I’ve been looking forward to this game; the last match of the season, I can get there easily from London, promotion will have been secured by then, possibly only the league championship to play for… I was at Wigan for the last match of the last season, where every sang Solbakken’s name and told Roger Johnson he wasn’t fit to wear the shirt.
Living in East London I’ve thought I should go and see Orient, just to watch football as a neutral. I never have, but next season I will watch them, but not as a neutral. FFS.
There is just a possiblity that the players will put on a good show just to make us think what might have been – if only – then they’ll be off to pastures new. The other results won’t go our way though, and the players will have got us relegated as planned.
Wolves 3 Brighton 0
Just reading about leigh griffiths who has scored 27 goals for hibs this season saying he hopes he can stay there. Why are we freezing youngsters out for ageing overpaid twats who have made us the first top flight club to get relegated twice twice ! I dont get it !
If we cant give the youngsters a chance in the third tier what is the point of having an academy ? Are the teams pushing in the championship full of expensive ageing premier cast offs ? No they aint. Sorry for extra posts angry and hacked off.
Apart from having a load of players who could be sold for a profit, I can’t see any benefit to the Academy as yet – I don’t think you should apologise Colin, I think it is another one of those questions that should be asked but will never be answered!
Thanks for your reply Telford Wolf – my point really is that we are now in a position to fast forward the younger players and fast forward the future.
For what its worth, I think we will play out of our skin, and do something silly like win 2-1. However, the win wont be enough, probably because the other results wont go our way.
Should the unthinkable happen and we do escape, I would feel more insecure about the future. I could imagine that would be the excuse not to change anything, cos super Dean will be able to turn it round during the close season.
But if we are having parachute payments of £16m, and relegation will cost us £5m (according to the E&S), any cost cutting won’t be at the expense of CEO type wages and wages of the £40K a week tossers will it? With gates of maybe 10K, there will be less catering staff (on their whopping minimum wage), less in the bars, less staff all round the ground.
I hope the players do play out of their skin to catch the eyes of any scouts or agents etc. (Is there a branch of Specsavers in Town, or has that gone yet?)
And talking of scouts, has anyone any upto date news of Thelwell and the others who were going to put us our scouting and development at the cutting edge of the UK? Or has that turned out to be another empty promise?
I don’t really give two hoots anymore. Well………..on reflection I actually do.
However I can’t see us getting anything from this game. We have simply rolled over and died too often this season and have had some of our most shocking performances in many “must win” games.
The chances of us pulling out a good performance, let alone a convincing win, when relying upon goal difference and defeats two for the other strugglers, is a very doubtful prospect.
Did anyone even waste a quid on the SprtingBet offer of 50:1 for us to stay up?
Not many I wager.
We have all been let down massively by our club, and I can’t see tomorrow being any different.
I predict another lackluster performance to round out the pathetic pantomime which this season and much of last has been.
Brighton and Hove A****n 3 – Wolverhampton Wanderers 1
Enjoy your summers lads and lasses.
Prediction?
Who gives a shit.
Have spent the week coming to terms with relegation and now feel it is what is needed to reinvent the club. So not really interested in great escape in case nothing changed, certainly cannot stand more of the same. 2-1 to Brighton
I’m going tomorrow, and have never looked forward to a match less.
Due to a wager a placed with a brighton fan earlier this season (before we became a dead team walking) losing tomorrow will cost me £40, on top of the £30 I paid him when it became mathematically impossible for us to finish above them.
They’re not even the real a****n.
Prediction for tomorrow? Tears 1 – Dignity 0.
and the palace fans call em tescos as well !…as you say it all started and finished with a game with stripy pyjama clad footballing personage..could it get any worse ?
It ends as it began, 5-1 to the sh.
Having said that I know I’ll still be sucking in every last gasp of hope until finally its over. FFS Wolves, give us something will ya?
I don’t mean to be negative, but we’re dead and buried.
I disagree with Thomas’ team selection, simply because I think we should drop as many of the ‘old guard’ as possible and give the kids a taste.
Blood some, give others valuable experience…they’re going to need it in League 1!
Brighton 2 – 0 Wolves
I’m afraid the air is out of the baloon. If there was any this season.
I just don’t think this lot will even bother to turn up…if it was going to happen and they gave a damn it would’ve happened a lot sooner than now!
Brighton 3-0 Wolves
As for everyone thinking this will spark a clear out and a fresh start…doesn’t it all feel a little familiar…around this time last year?
UTW
at least the game will be a great cure for a hangover !! stay safe all the fans going to the game !!
Wolves 2 Brighton 0
But more importantly turn up and play, play for pride, play for the fans, play for yourself, play for your pay, play to stay, play to get away, play for a place in the museum, play for that tiniest of possibilities that…… just play
Wolves to bottle it, 3 nil to Brighton, hope I’m wrong, but I gave up ages ago with this load of useless wankers…
See you all next season in Div 3…
Keep up the great work Ben and Thomas.
Well it’s a bit late to have a first go at a prediction for the last game of the season, but I am a latecomer to the excellent Wolves Blog! Brighton are secure in 4th place, but Poyet will want to keep motivation levels up, while his players may be a bit more relaxed and keen to avoid injury and cards. In short, an important full-scale practice match for them and a pre-playoff home celebration. Can’t see our depleted, demoralised, unmotivated, split team really getting it together for a last hoorah – witness the lengthy row between Doyle and Henry in the centre circle last week. So, from a hopeless predictor, 3-1 to Brighton and flowers for the grave of WWFC. And whatever the bullets fired at MM and his players, those players would never have been allowed to get us into this position in the Championship under him.
And after a discussion about today’s matches and the situation in the championship, Mrs P is washing her hair whilst singing, “I’m gonna wash that team right out of my hair!”
I expect all results to go our way elsewhere giving us every opportunity to stay up while we put up a yet another shambolic performance and lose 3-0.
Anybody know if there is a live stream available for the match today?
Cheers !
Wolves to win 6-0, stay up, Moxey gets sacked tomorrow, Morgan puts some of his considerable fortune into the club, instead of milking it out (ha ha), Martin O`Neil appointed manager, and I win the lottery tonight as well.
*Slap* ! Wake up !
Live Commentary of the match on BBC Radio 5 live extra is the best I have found.
Wolverhampton Wanderers: (4-4-2) De Vries; Doherty, Gorkss, Johnson, Elokobi; Doumbia, Henry, O’Hara, Sako; Dicko, Doyle. Subs: McCarey (GK), McAlinden, Batth, Robinson, Sigurdarson, Hunt, Ward.
Must win match and Hunt and Siggy, two of our best players of late, on bench.
Elokobi in when he hasn’t played in months!
Sako carrying injury starts.
Strange.
Yes, I was surprised to see Elokobi in the line up. After watching them last week I would have only guaranteed De Vries in my line up the rest were shocking!
“Watching” by text. 2 – 0 now. Other results not going our way anyhow but it sure was a strange team to start with. Don’t understand Dean’s thoughts in leaving out Hunt and Sig.
Difficult to get the full story when you are not at the game but I understand Doherty has come off for Sig and Henry is now at full back.
1-1 draw say no more!
see you all in the third tier of football! at least Carlisle will be close to me
One down after 5 minutes.
How did it take Brighton so long to score??
Probably because they’re playing with Margaritas in one hand, cigar in other?
0 – 2 down,
The extremely fat lady, otherwise known as Mrs moxey is singing her fuckin’ heart out!!!
1-50 the odds . turn it round and theres the score¬!
Eugh, well lads… I’ve already started…
Tim Nash: “HT: #Brighton 2 #Wolves 0. #Wolves have offered absolutely no hope that they can stay up.”
Looks like we don’t even care.
turns out you can’t embed images:
I mean to link to this
Since its pointless listening to the score now, how about your suggestions for the song the fat lady should be singing?
“Death Is Not The End” by Nick Cave for me.
He also lives in Brighton, how sufficient…
Oh, happy day
(oh, happy day)
Oh, happy day
(oh, happy day)
When Jezza walks
(when Jezza walks)
oh, when he walks (or preferably, gets run out of town)
Ah, what a happy, happy day……………
Down down – Quo
Wolves fans singing to Prima Donna O’hara your not fit to wear the shirt, after O’hara made a gesture to the fans..
Give him shit boys fu@@ing wanker..
O’fuckface should never be seen in wolvehampton again ( sorry about language Thomas delete if you have too ).
Not sure why I’m so pissed – the writing was on the wall a short time after appointing Dean.
Like many others I was frustrated with some of the performances Wolves produced under Staale. It was frustrating at times but I accepted that you can’t change the world in six months and that many of the players he inherited just weren’t up top playing the style he wanted them to play. I was a little concerned by the way our second half performances fell away and felt that perhaps a little more emphasis needed to be put on fitness but overall it was the lack of effort from the players that was the most damning factor. With Staale I could see that he was trying to change things; he was trying to change a style that just didn’t cut it in the premiership into a style that would. That takes time and although we all got frustrated at times I think most of us felt there was a plan and when he brought in his own guys things would gradually improve.
I would like to say I can see hope under Dean but I simply can’t. We have reverted to the style that took us down from the premiership and has now taken us down from the championship. It is hoofball at its worst. Next year we will pay Kaspar Gorkys £25k a week in the third division and he is no better than Berra. He’s been tried and found wanting at the top level. Dean has been tried and found wanting – this is two relegations from the championship in two seasons.
I think under Dean we will continue to play hoofball. It MAY just get us out of the third division but I doubt it will get us any further. Morgan WAS right – we did need a complete change in style and in Staale he possibly appointed the right man BUT he didn’t back him financially and he didn’t give him time. Why the hell have we reverted to a style that has already failed us so dismally? Why has SM gone back to a style that he recognised needed changing?
I too remember the dark days of the Bhattis and a derelict Mol but I can’t remember feeling as depressed as I feel now, looking forward to another season with Embarrassing Dean in charge. I can see it taking another two or three seasons just to get us back to where we were when we sacked Mick – a decision that I agreed with.
Let the CULL begin…
2nd worst team in the league. The table doesnt lie. This regime under morgan is rotten to the core. Even the venkys are better than morgan and moxey.
I have moved my framed photo of Molyneux into my shit-house, which I think is a fitting place for it to hang and a constant reminder of how shit we are.
🙁
So when you forget to take bog roll in with you, nd you are left with a dirty a**e and nothing to wipe it with…………………
Nah, it would take me too long to get the f*cker out of the frame and me trying to squeeze my arse cheeks together as I waddle over to the wall. Lots of lovely soft bum wipes in my toilet thank you !
😛
So much for the Bishop’s prayer………….
I wonder how many are praying they will still have a job?
So true. Some families are going to suffer badly thanks to the *efforts* of this Wolves squad. The players are OK as I expect they have wads of cash stashed away, the catering staff, cleaning staff and support staff do not have that luxury to fall back on. Hard times coming for them
Just had to turn the radio off. The Shite match came on and you could here the Tesco’s singing ‘One Dean Saunders’ and ‘wanky wanderers’. They are absolutely loving it at the minute.Gutted.

No big surprises.
The team selection tells me everything.
I think this is Morgan and Moxeys comfort zone, they have no intention of reaching for the stars.
If Moxey is still with us after this debacle after debacle there is simply no point in wasting time or breath. Nothing will change with him involved simpl as that.
Might as well shut the academy too whats the point.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I was listening to the BBC 5 Live Extra commentary and the first thing I felt as the final whistle went was a sense of relief that it was all over.
Closely followed by a huge wave of anger –
Anger at O’Hara running straight down the tunnel after the game (and hopefully out of our lives altogether)…
Anger at the way that Morgan has proved that he knows absolutely sod all about running a football club…
Anger at the whole team for playing virtually the whole season with no heart…
Anger at Henry’s comment “We’re too good to go down”…
Anger at the lack of team strengthening when it was obvious we weren’t up to it…
Anger at the fact that Moxey is still in a job…
Anger that ordinary, hard working employees at Wolves will probably be out of a job…
And anger at myself because I still bloody care!!!
Deån Saunders has spouted some pretty spurious rubbish since he was appointed manager, but he got one thing right when he said quite confidently:-
“We’ve got the squad to get out of this division”.
How right you were Deån!!
