Like it or not, you’ve got to tip your hat to Blues.

The departure of Chris Hughton and the continuing pinch of financial turmoil should have been a recipe for relegation struggle.
But Lee Clark has managed to keep hold of their best players, add a couple more and guide them to midtable.
As an outsider looking in, I would say that constitutes success.
They come into this derby flying after three consecutive wins, the latest of which a 4-0 thumping of promotion chasing Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park being easily the pick of the bunch.
Their home form is far from imperious and with just 24 goals scored at St. Andrews, they’re amongst the lowest scorers on their own patch.
Wolves
Had this game kicked off a week later, Dean Saunders would surely have picked the same eleven that saw off Middlesbrough on Saturday. As it is, he’ll have to consider freshening things up. Who he brings in though is anyone’s guess. Maybe an XI something like:
Hunt and O’Hara are probably the likeliest candidates for a rest, with Henry and Ward their most likely replacements. Doumbia, Hammill and Dicko may also be considered.
Predictions
I’m struggling for time to tot up the various scores for the Prediction League ahead of this game. But I don’t think anyone got the correct scoreline against Boro, despite a chunk of people correctly forecasting a Wolves win.
This will be a tough game, but it’s definitely a chance for Wolves to pick up points. I’m expecting a tight game, but I think there will be goals.
I’ll go for a 2-2.
Up The Wolves.
* Apologies for ongoing problems you might have encountered on the blog. I’ve been trying to speed the site up and in doing so, a few things have been knocked out of kilter. All will be resolved shortly.

we are poor at home and your not so good away so a draw sounds about right. Both teams have improved alot recently but if we can show the pace we did at palace then i’m sure we can get behind your defence which to be fair isn’t that great is it.2-1 BLUES.
Worried that the limited playing group that Dean trusts will be leggy and unable to keep up the pressure.
Birmingham 2 – Wolves 0
Wolves players have finally started to show some pride – they had the ability from the start – and with the confidence of recent results will fight hard. I hope DS won’t be playing for a draw – we need to attack – there are plenty of options in the squad.
All that said, Blues have been getting great results, but may be a bit complacent?
We need the three points, so I’m going for Wolves to win – i’d love it to be 3-0, but any winning score will do.
As usual we meet a team finding some form, seems to happened so many times this season. But we now have some pride and fight and are creating chances. Probably more in saturdays game than 10 under Stale. I think we can get something here at least a point 2-2
Blues 2 Wolves 1 but hoping to be wrong.
bummies 1 wolves 3….im still asleep but enjoying this dream! show some more passion lads and we can beat them! we had an incredible 17 shots on goal-15 on target against boro..thats an incredible tally considering the season weve endured. come on me babbies!!!! WTID..”ID RATHER BE A DINGLE THAN A BRUMMIE!!!!!!!!11
Thought Saturday was our best performance of the season at Molineux. Great effort from the lads, just hope they take the same attitude into Mondays derby.
Hunt was excellent. Ebanks-Blake and many others were very good. I like the two young fullbacks – proper defenders played in their right positions – lets see more of this.
Take a draw Blues 2 Wolves 2
1 – 0 to the Wolves, but this could go either way. – please do not play OHara, play Doyle behind Siggy and Ebanks, new boy or Hammil on the wing.
COME ON ME BABIES
Small Heath 1 Wolves 1
if we’d lost to boro we wouldn’t have won again till league 1
9 points from 12, we’ll be up for this one, but the blouse are not to be underestimated.
we tend to have tight games with em though, either a draw or settled by the odd goal.
with that in mind, i’m gonna throw all sense and logic out the window and go for an emphatic win for the lads, mainly cos i don’t like brummies
us 3 them 0
The disease of the 2 Ms is infecting Wolves Blog and standards are slipping…next you’ll be saying “tough times don’t last, tough bloggers do” 😉
Blues are in really good form, I’m afraid.
Blues 3-1 Wolves
Difficult game to predict the outcome of. The stats from premier league, after teams have played important games in Champions league, doesn’t exactly promote optimism. Lucky for us Henry didn’t play the whole match and nor did Davies. O’Hara and Hunt will probably need a rest, since their fundaments isn’t the best (refering to their previous injury).
Henry and Doumbia starts in central midfield, Foley and Ward on the fullbacks, Dicko and Pezsko on the wings. Ebanks and Doyle up front. Sigurdarson is spared to the 2nd half.
When it is so short a period between the games it’s obvious that rotation would favor us.
I’m afraid it ends in a draw too 1-1. Now as the league tightens every point counts. It’s unbelivable how the other results have gone against us.
Derby games seem to throw up more draws than a usual match, but I’m going with Blues 1 Wolves 2.
Well I ve been wrong so often this season that I ve got to go blues one wolves nil COM ON WANDERERS..
we are due some luck lets hope its today ,a 1-0 win with pen. last minute
If Nathan Redmond plays like he did the other day he will tear us apart. It won’t be so much a Johnson lunge but a luge! Let’s hope he gets sent off again and Batth can play. Lose 0 – 2.
Got a good feeling.
Brum 1 Wolves 2
Always thought Lee Clarke would make a good manager
Recent form is the same for both teams; win 3, draw 1 and lose 1 from the last five games. Add to this the statistic that Brum draw 40% of their home games, the tight nature of local derbys and everything is pointing towards a draw. However probability is often wrong and the major difference in this game will be the closeness to the previous match; an extra recovery day for Brum and the enforced squad rotation may result in an unpredictable result. Wolves 1 Brum 1
How can we lose with me wearing my lucky Steve Bull t-shirt? 🙂
Brum 1-3 Wolves
Like a few of my fellow bloggers I worry about the team being fit enough to put another shift in so soon after the heroics of Saturday.
I would love to go for another win but I’ve got my Prediction League position to think of.
I think a draw would be more realistic.
2-2
Both teams on a decent run of form so think we’ll cancel each other out – 2-2 draw
En route… Not looking forward to this one.
I haven’t predicted for a while so I’m going for a 2 nil Blues.
We can’t defend and I think there defense is good enough to close us out at the moment.
Still, it’s a derby…
I recall some quite dire games between the two sides and don’t see another thriller a la Boro in the making.
0-0
I think Deano will go 4-5-1 here after seeing what Blouse did to Palace on Friday, if he does I would suggest two holding mindielders (Davis and Henry) with Doumbia in front (think he will drop O’Hara as he is knackered), left midfield Ward, right midfield Siggi and Doyle up front, not gonna be pretty but I think we will nick a draw.
Blouse 1 – 1 Wolves
UTW
Wolves 2 Birmingham 1
Barnsley 1 Leicester 2
Blackpool 0 Palace 2
Bristol 2 Wednesday 1
Cardiff 2 Blackburn 0
Millwall 1 Ipswich 1
would make things more interesting
I’m getting my prayer mat out right now !! mind , I think I’d rather a Millwall win in that mix .
UTW
I was very impressed with the Blues destruction of Crystal Palace. Can’t see us holding them back unfortunately so it’s 3-0 to to Brum for me.
Brum 2 wolves 1
I’m hoping that the great result Brum had at Palace will work against them . They are now surely safe . A collective complacency may descend on them today .
However , we are still in the deep mire . The big worry though is just how rested are we after Saturday ? Several players wont start , Hunt [the hero of the day ] O’Hara [ not at his fittest yet ] the obvious duo .
Ward a surefire starter , will we see if he’s caught the scrapper bug ? as will Henry . The new lad , a possibility , also Doumbia .
I fancy a shock [ well I want one ! ] ala Blues at Palace . Bringing them down to earth a bit .
Brum 1 Wolves 4 . Ha !
3-1 blues Saunders is still a numpty lee Clark isn’t and has youth and pace in his team we have super tanker Johnson at the back.
Would love a win, but right now would take a point.
Wolves 2 Blues 2
Same team as Saturday, very interesting. Can’t blame Deano for not wanting to change the team that’s done the business, but surprised no freshening up.
WOLVES: De Vries, Doherty, Johnson, Gorkss, Robinson, Sigurdarson, Davis, O’Hara, Hunt, Doyle, Ebanks-Blake. Subs. McCarey, Batth, Ward, Henry, Doumbia, Hammill, Dicko.
Remarkable performance by Blues at Palace, thank goodness they did that last week. I don`t thing lightening can strike twice, so long as we don`t lose, I`ll take anything from the game.
Whatever team is picked and plays lets hope for another win, I`d be happy with another 3-2, as we have goals in our side.
Predicted 3-1 for Sat, and if it hadn`t been for a t**at of a linesman, I`d have got the score right. Just hope those nimble pacey forwards can`t get into the game, and we get another vital 3 points.
B’ham 3-1 Wolves
I am obviously still asleep because I am having a dream that we are 3-0 up at St Andrews after 40 minutes.
As I haven’t woken up yet it won’t hurt if I change my prediction to a win…..
Will it?
I’ve just remembered what day it is.
Are the BBC doing an elaborate April Fool joke on us all?
Is that an april fools stream I’m watching?
Gorgeous, absolutely delighted!!!
Last minute push for play offs ? Laugh out loud.
3-0 a dangerous lead to have.
Still we held on!
Well played the lads….
Hunty again eh – he’s making me eat my words.
Another priceless 3 points.
Pity the other buggers won or have a game in hand.
Looks like we going to have to slug it out till the end feels so much better though when were winning – good to see blackburn coming to the party.
STAND UP IF YOU LOVE THE WOLVES!!!!!!
Can supporters in the Jack Harris stand please refrain from standing during the match. Thank you.
SORRY ..am i banned now?
Nope – SHOES OFF if you love the Wolves 😀
Another three points in the bag, another roller coaster of a game but Lady Luck was still wearing her golden garter and the goal posts seem to widen at every Birmingham shot. A great result, better than Saturdays, only two days rest, no wonder we were under the cosh in the second half. The down side being injuries to Seb (out for the season?) JO groin strain.
Next up Bolton, not exactly our lucky team and with all our injuries, this is going to be a tough ask but Wolves have surprised us all over the last few games with some great results, lets hope we have enough petrol in the tank to take us clear of the drop zone.
Keep the faith UTW
Wonderful wolves win, never expected to get the win, thought a draw would be a good result.
3 points thats all that matter now, nice to see us out of the bottom three, seems like its been a while. so come on wolves keep it going.UTW.
Yeeeesssss ! Another great result thanks to my lucky Steve Bull t-sirt 🙂
Watched the game live via the net and apart from the 6 mins of injury time.
Well played lads, well done my t-shirt ! 🙂 🙂
I mean the last 6 mins of injury time was agony !
Don’t wash it and keep it on for Bolton away!
It was Bully’s birthday on Thursday…
Looks like i gotta join moxey in eating pie, but its humble pie for me. Brilliant 2 results. Well done players and saunders
So tight at the bottom of the Championship, making this an exceptional result for Wolves – well done one and all – especially after less than 48 hours rest.
We just need to keep on giving it 100% and hopefully a little but of luck should see us across the line.
Dean Saunders is the first manager for some years now who has fielded a team without karl Henry and Stephen Ward. He gets my vote for that. Good team selection last 2 games. Shame we picked up injuries. just seems now we have the right players in their right positions and it shows in the way we play. Injuries however might take their toll so what i would like to see now from the wolves is clean sheets. We can nick a goal, doyle, siggy are capable of that. COYW
I eat humble pie. I still don’t like Saunders as a manager and don’t think he’s the right man to take us forward in long term. But he has proved me wrong with recent results.
See? Told you we’d win!
Great result, and great run of form just at the right time. Finally a bit of joy as a Wolves fan!
Survival this season (touch wood) will feel as almost good as winning the league after the time we’ve had of it recently.
Still a log way to go yet though lads!
Keep the faith
Up The Wolves
SHIIIIIIIT ON THE BRUMMIES
Driving home from a profitable day at work, wearing my old gold shirt with my company name and logo, stolen unashamedly from WWFC, thinking that it is still April 1st, and track 9 of the Pirate Radio movie sound track pops up on my ipod.
Crank up the volume to fever pitch, wind down the windows even tho’ its 80 degrees outside, and HI Ho Wolverhampton screams from every pore!!!
It dont get much better than this at the mo.
Morning Clive
Or whatever time it is over there.
Call me a nosey old git if you like (and I expect you do like) but I’m interested to know what line of work you are in.
Also, what’s it worth not to tell Jez Moxey about you ripping off the Wolves logo?
He’ll sue you for every penny you’ve got if he finds out – and I should imagine that would keep him in pies for a good few weeks.
Good evening, Doogle.
I am in the fencing business.
Fences, gates, electronic access equipment, stuff like that.
Have been for well over 30 years.
The only comments I usually get about the logo are along the lines of “What is that, a fox?”
I then have to explain how it is from one of the most famous and feared original soccer teams, blah, blah, blah
If greasel really wanted to market Wolves properly, and have world wide recognition, ala United, Chelsea etc etc, then I might have a logo problem.
But as he doesnt, and wont, then I have no qualms whatsover in using one of the most iconic and beautiful logos out there in promoting my business.
If he wants to sue me, all I can say is bring it on.
I would love the opportunity of meeting that fat fuck in court over here, I would rip him a new one.
And I would find out where he is staying…………………
Remember folks, Clive The Fenceman from Houston
So if you have any dodgy cameras, dvds, watches etc, I’m your man.
Happy to see deans brave decisions in selection paying dividends .
He has made those decisions we all had been clamouring on about for so long. Nice to see we were all right:).. And him too.
