I don’t want to talk about the five.
When you play a good side in an open game there’s always the possibility you’ll take some punishment.

That’s not to forgive the comical defending – Kilman slicing the ball into the path of Xhaka for the second and Sa letting the fifth slip under his body being the most egregious examples – but it’s our repugnant, ineffective attacking that continues to infuriate.
Once again we’ve finished the season averaging less than a goal a game and failed to score in 38% of our matches.
It’s bad enough losing half of your games (today was defeat 19) but all those blanks have made it a slog from start to finish with little to cheer between all those ground out narrow victories.
I’m grateful for the results Julen Lopetegui has delivered but the style of play hasn’t improved since his arrival and I struggle to see what they’re working on during those frequently photographed sessions down at Compton Park.
We have no set piece routines, no patterns of play through the midfield and, on the rare occasions the ball makes it to the penalty area, no bodies in the box.
Plenty will say the coach is working with a bloated and busted group of players and maybe they’re right, but my instinct is they should still be producing greater output.
Whoever is sat in the dugout come August, I just pray to the footballing gods that they’ve found a way to end the three year drought.
If it’s Lopetegui, then great. He’s earned the right to properly rebuild the team and show what he’s about next time.
But if he exits, I won’t be as forlorn as others. It can be tough to find a capable pair of hands, but with Potter and Rodgers both on the open market and proven architects of teams that play attractive, attacking football, there are avenues to explore.
We’ve spent the last three weeks getting misty eyed over players that are past their best or no longer want to be here. Good luck to them wherever they end up.
I’m looking forward to the clear out and have every confidence we can come back better with a motivated group all pulling in the same direction.
Work hard and work fast. Best of luck Jeff.

We ended our season just as badly as we began it. An abject rag tag group of individuals of limited ability, pretending to be team. Today we were an absolute shambles. An utter disgrace, an embarrassment to us all.
Thomas you rightly comment of the total lack of basic ideas as to how to actually score, and the desperate lack of creativity in midfield. But with respect, a team cannot perform with a defense comprising hugely underperforming individuals and lacking any collective discipline. Two full backs who simply cannot defend, lacking in any discipline and leaving wingers in acres of space. Collins blundering around to no effect and Kilman seemingly only able to perform when an experienced partner is alongside giving his instruction. Success has to be built on solidarity at the back, and we have no such foundation
How this group managed to avoid relegation is, to me, a complete mystery.
A couple of weeks ago Ben produced his ‘ Fire List ‘ Surely its the time for this to be activated. Nothing short of a major clear out will suffice. If Mr Lopetegie is unable to obtain necessary funding for the purpose, he would surely be well advised to walk away. Much better opportunities will be open to him elsewhere
I can give you an answer to your mystery in a single word, Mike. Dawson.
The fact that our best, most solid defender and only defensive organiser was missing today, and the resulting abject performance, is surely a not so subtle message to the hierarchy that our premier league future is very much in the balance without the necessary squad strengthening.
Would add the seriously missed Conor Coady who Dyche had to recall today to complete Everton’s Great Escape. Wish you were still here! Even in a back 4.
Forget about today’s dead rubber 5-0. It’s meaningless in the grand scheme of things.
We were founded 146 years ago. We’ve been at Molineux for 134 years.
The only result in recent weeks that really mattered was us retaining our Premier League status.
That’s all.
The club is in a far healthier position than it has been at anytime in the last 50 plus years.
Average attendances of over 30,000.
Wealthy owners who are prepared to invest.
World class manager.
Modern infrastructure and training facilities.
6th season in the Premier league.
Attracting the caliber of players we could only dream about a decade ago.
Some recent achievements to point to, top 7 finishes, FA cup semi finalists, Europa quarterfinalists, Championship champions.
There’s no doubt we are enjoying a relatively golden period.
Disagree ?
Of the 92 clubs fortunate enough to be in the English football league, most of their fans would give their right arm to be in our position.
The thing is we don’t think that way. We want more. And that’s good. As long as we also try to appreciate what we have, don’t take it for granted and feel entitled.
If we focus on the period since Fosun took over, there have been ups and downs.
Once NES was appointed, we saw a rapid upward trajectory. And we all bought into it. The feeling was all the more potent after so many years of relative mediocrity.
Was this the beginning of a “Manchester City like” rise to the top of English, European or World football ?
Errrr, not quite.
We’ve learned that money isn’t everything, but it helps. How you spend it is key. Think Dawson v Collins or Moutinho v Guedes.
We’ve learned that asking someone to run the entire club without any previous relevant experience is a risk, and that individual needs to surround themselves with excellent people who are knowledgeable, experienced and competent in that area.
We’ve learned that we cannot be reliant on one agent, whose only priority is their own success.
This season has seen chickens coming home to roost, and eventually a key decision and action taken saving us from disaster.
The Chairman carries the responsibility for trying to run the club without an effective management structure. Then continuing to rely on one agent.
Nuno’s dismissal and Bruno’s appointment failed miserably and a decline that had been a couple of seasons in the making unfolded.
Julen Lopetegui’s appointment along with Matt Hobbs have helped to bring expertise and balance to the hierarchy.
Interestingly Jeff Shi has a far lower profile this season.
It seems lessons have been learnt.
Also ambitions have been tempered.
However, we are not out of the woods. Such was the lack of a coherent plan and structure that we spent far more than we could afford in player and agent fees and salaries and are now potentially in breach of FFP rules.
So this transfer window will be tough.
First and foremost, we must keep Julen Lopetegui. That has to be top of the Chairman’s to do list.
Then we need to sell players that are ready to move on, in order to give us some room to bring in players for the positions that the manager wants. With the attributes he requires. Players he can mould into the team and plating style he wants.
But there won’t be any more big money signings. This season alone we have spent €175m and received just €63m in player ins and outs.
So no more Fabio Silva €35m, Guedes €32m and Matheus Nunes €45m but more Lemina €11m and Dawson €3.8m.
This is why JL needs to know NOW what the financial situation is exactly so he can start planning and acting now, not in August.
Keep JL, have a successful and prudent transfer window and the future will continue to look bright and golden.
UTW
Muttleigh
Seriously?
On what grounds can you say that lessons have been learned?
Prior to and including Jan. 2023 (Cunha)huge amounts have been spent on Jeff’s long shots most of whom have been abject failures. Until professional management is installed things are unlikely to change.
Matt Hobbs appointment as Sporting Director.
A top class and experienced manager in Julen Lopetegui’s appointment along with his team.
Less/no reliance on Mendes clients for signings ie last transfer window.
I’d say since last Autumn’s debacle, that’s 3 big and necessary changes based on the mistakes made over the previous 2 or 3 seasons.
Looks like learning and adapting accordingly.
Had we stuck with Lage, or a less capable coach, not appointed a Sporting Director and continued to rely on Mendes in January then it would be fair to say we hadn’t learned from our mistakes and would likely have been Championship bound today.
No . Today`s game was not not meaningless. Our performance was an absolute inexcusable disgrace, and totally disrespectful to our enormously loyal support base. How anyone can think otherwise defies reasonable logic
Always good to read different views, written respectfully.
There is a soul song from 1968 by Oscar Mack, called ‘I’m glad it’s all over’
I think that sums up my feelings over this season.
I’m sure there will be much gnashing of teeth and pontificating from all quarters as the season is dissected.
I hope over the summer our owners see what we have all seen, that we are in decline and awfully lucky not to have been relegated.
I wish all the bloggers a peaceful and happy summer and looking forward to the debates and thoughts of you all as we ponder next season.
To all – Keep the faith.
Is there any award for being bottom of the prediction league with zero points?
Well that was a completely shameful performance… over £250 spent for us to witness a gutless, disorganised and shambolic effort.
To give Arsenal players time and space us just suicidal..
Our defending is amateurish with Semedo, Collins and Kilman neither marking, challenging or closing down attackers .. and consequently gifting xhaka with two of the easiest goals he’ll ever despatch …. Arsenal are good but we’re equally bad .. there seemed little desire or fight from most of the team and in the end it became damage limitation…
An extremely bad day with no positives to take from it.
The players on view today should wholeheartedly apologise for such a pathetic effort ..
I’d also add that our style of attacking prowess has to change .. the number of times we’re on the edge of the opponents penalty box to them routinely play the ball back and back and side and back to Sa to eventually lose possession and momentum.
We’re just so so easy to defend against and similarly so easy to press and force a retreat … everything is executed with fear .. it no wonder defeats are common place ..
Again an unusual team selection and those given an opportunity to impress certainly didn’t take it …
Still hurting ….
No positives? Apart from getting to spend the afternoon with me I presume! ?
Hi Bedders, you have made my day, hope all good with you. Regards.
How profound of me to inexcusably miss that massive positive..
I bow down before you and apologise… great to sit next to an icon ..
London Wolves Loyal also .. great the see you mate ..
Today’s result / performance along with the recent shambles at Brighton indicate that there is little pride within this group of individual mercenaries to uphold the dignity of our great football club. Not only can’t we score (no shots on target again) but we can no longer defend either.
Sadly I think the soul and spirit that Nuno so brilliantly created has completely gone up in smoke. Those who did have feelings for the club and us the fans have either already departed or are packing their bags
Fantastic achievement by Lopetengui to pull off The Great Escape with the gang of rag tag and bobtails at his disposal but with all the undertones from within re FFP, his own (understandable) doubts about trust and the behaviour of Fosun and their henchman Shi over the last 3 years or so I find it difficult to be confident about our ability to compete next season unless there is a complete rethink about the philosophy of our owners towards the still ailing WWFC.
In the words of the late Ian Dury – “What a Waste”.
PJB. Having seen the comments from J Lo that he is unable to re-sign the players he wants I am beginning to have doubts about where we are going. Whether J Lo is just grand standing is another question but if he is correct in his pronouncement it is indeed worrying.
PJB I`m probably in a big minority but I think that the best way forward would be to dispense with the services of Lop and bring back Nuno.
Yes, under Lop we have somehow managed to avoid the drop. But I see no difference in the way we attack now than was the case under the hapless Bruno. We look no more likely to score now than we did then. We remain bereft of attacking ideas; we are just plain boring
Think back to the days of Nuno. We played as a unit; we attacked together; we defended together. The team spirit was sky high, with every team member fully committed. We were exciting to watch; we scored great goals; we were successful beyond all reasonable expectation. These were real glory days for all of us
All this changed when, for reasons unknown, the ridiculous Shi suddenly turned against Nuno. All support to him was abandoned — even after the horrific injury to Raul. And from there, with ever gathering speed, we went down the pan.
How great it would be to reverse the situation. Get rid of Shi and bring back Nuno and let him complete the job which he started so effectively
We became extremely boring under Nuno and that cannot be wholly attributed to lack of backing. No really successful team plays with a back 5 without a plan B. Glad he was once our manager but he would be a backward step.
I think you have on Gold tinted glasses with added stroking beard Mike.
The wheels had started to come off when Nuno left Mike.
His departure was timely before his legacy was damaged.
Football waits for no man and our heroes of the Nuno era are now just fond memories.
A new era without the weight of nostalgia needs to be built.
Prawny, I agree that I`m wearing gold colored glasses, but I can only say that they are well focused.
The facts are there for all to understand. Leading up to to Rauls`s life threatening injury, the idiot Shi, aided an abetted by the mercenary Mendez, had sold– or given away !! — Jota and had not replaced him. Yet we had continued to play well. In the Arsenal game in which Raul was injured, we went on to win the game playing some great football.
But then despite endless assurances from Shi that monies were available t o strengthen the side, nothing happened. Neither Raul nor Jota was ever replaced. Nuno was left hung out to dry without any support . From then on it was inevitably all down hill.
I agree with you that Nuno never had a Plan B. But at least he had a Plan A that actually worked well. A solid defense and then when we attacked we did so at pace with bodies in the box. We were a real threat.
Compare this to the present time under Lop. In terms of attacking we have neither a Plan A or Plan B. We are clueless going forward — a lone striker without any support. We offer zero threat and are completely boring to watch. How are supposed to score goals? Or is this irrelevant ? Lop has simply continued with Bruno`s attacking incompetence — apart form the fact that he`s been instrumental in committing us to buy another seemingly useless striker for forty plus million , who thus far has managed to score just twice in twenty odd games.
On reflection I think that my gold colored glasses are doing a fine job. I`ll keep on wearing them
Mike
Think JL has to be given the chance to see what he can do If he is supported sufficiently to bring in his own choices; if he isn’t I doubt whether he will wish to stay long anyway. In that event I would fully agree and have have Nuno back tomorrow if he wanted to return, but would he work for Jeff Shi again? Because I don’t see him going anywhere soon.
Bad Moon Rising?
‘I`m probably in a big minority but I think that the best way forward would be to dispense with the services of Lop and bring back Nuno…Think back to the days of Nuno. Alternatively, think back to a certain Europa League 1/4 final when Nuno’s excellent team were comprehensively played off the pitch by Lopetegui’s Sevilla.
I suspect the reality of the situation our great club finds itself in is somewhere in the middle of Mike’s and Mutt1leigh’s posts above. This Summer will be a pretty tumultuous one for the club and whether it’s Lopetegui (who I hope will stay) or a new manager, it’s time to re-cast the shape and identity of our team. Given FFP, unless we get some favourable swaps, that probably means diving into uncharted leagues and divisions for new members of the squad. I, for one, am excited about that possibility as change is what we need.
I was there this afternoon – and I was amazed at the number of empty seats in our supposedly sold out away section – and it was embarrassing and pathetic in equal measure. Apart from a notable few – Lemina, Nunes, Toti when he came on and most of all Traore – we were abysmal. Semedo simply isn’t a defender, Collins and Bueno looked out of their depth, Kilman looks very ordinary without a decent partner, Gomes was inconspicuous, Jimenez sadly looks past it and Hwang looks like a Championship player.
I also feel Lopetegui hasn’t exactly covered himself in glory these past few weeks. His treatment of Moutinho and Jimenez has been shameful and today I believe he deliberately picked a weakened side in order to support his claim – correct claim by the way – that we are not good enough and need a lot of money spending on the squad. Thanks for that Julen! Better ways to make your point than to insult those of us who went to support our club surely?
Biggest worry of all is Jeff Shi. He continues to prove his incompetence that started in 2020 when he seemed to start to believe he knew what he was doing. Dalrymple? Nah don’t need him. Thelwell? Nah don’t need him. Nuno? Nah, too defensive, don’t need him. Since then we have witnessed an appalling decline just at the point when, after three fantastic seasons, we seemed to be on the very brink of achieving something. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory it’s called I believe.
So now instead of moving forward and looking upwards towards the top 6 we are a mediocre PL club in need of major surgery if we are even to avoid relegation next season. Oh dear. Jeff – what have you done?
OODCL
Blah blah blah boo hoo!
Nobody forced you to go to the Emirates today, a case of more money than sense to watch a game of no meaning.
So many of you slagged off Thelwell when he was at the Wolves, and Dalrymple. Didn’t know what a good thing they were until they left did you?
We have spent a fortune under Julen and Fosun and got nowhere apart from serving up turgid and bland football, PL is over rated and our days there appear numbered. Increased ST prices, kick off times dictated by Sky and fickle fans that have jumped on the PL gravy train….no thanks! Such a mess and can’t wait for a break before we embark on next seasons relegation battle and hopefully the drop off of our so called glory hunting fans.
Give me messers Pulis or Dyche any day over these whinging foreigners uncle Jorge supplies, at least their players play with heart and desire, not to mention the odd upset and solid home record.
Arsenal away last game you say? No thanks I’d rather play across the capital at Millwall with a chance to compete in the play offs giving at least some excitement instead of the predictable beatings we have become accustomed to this season or in previous seasons being on the beach after 32 games.
Too many players here for a pay cheque and the hope / false promise of a big move if they do well.
It’s not for me and having watched from afar all season, felt compelled to comment and commiserate with all you sheep that cling to Fosun false promises.

Bedford, our major problem is Shi.
On a major ego trip following his appointment as Chairman, he ignored his ignorance of the football industry, by pompously getting rid of all experienced proven guys around him, and surrounding himself with a group of Yes Men . Then he proceeded to run our Club like an erstwhile Russian Czar. That he has subsequently proven himself to be commercially incompetent has landed the cub in the dire mess in which it finds itself today.
Fosun has supported the club financially to great effect — the problem being that Shi has systematically squandered the cash on a series of ridiculous deals, massively over-paying for modest performers, and simultaneously awarding them huge salaries well beyond their worth. Think Siva, Semedo Guedes, Nunes, Podens et al. Worse is the fact that several recipients have made it very clear that they don`t even want to play for us !!
For us to get back onto a proper commercial footing Shi needs to be fired. Fosun has been built by Mr. Goa into a world recognized conglomerate, and I am amazed that Shi`s ongoing failures have not resulted in his summary dismissal a long time ago.
Whoever is our coach next season, if he has to have any real chance of establishing a team with a genuine future, he needs to have a supportive experienced Chairman in place to lead the club, on whom he can consistently rely.
In my view, Shi is definitely not that man
Totally agree he was inexperienced and incompetent our future is still in his hands…
So is Neves.
We are on a knife-edge to deliver a top half position in the league nxt season the bookies are closing in.
Mendes will perform if instructed and that includes loans..
Wages we can pay…
Our Hopes rests with the rebuild
Feeling absolutely gutted with that performance or rather lack of. One football idiom that has always irked me (and I’ve used it myself) is ‘they are already on the beach’. Whilst fans are forking out hard earned cash no player should be entering the field without giving everything. The stupid errors like sticking a foot out in a pathetic effort to clear a ball that actually not only keeps it in play instead of row Z but directs it back towards the centre of the goal and the advancing hordes of the intent attacking opposition. I cannot fathom a lot of that team selection but felt very uneasy seeing Dawson on the bench. Kilman only started to play decent this season after Craig arrived. It’s all by the by really but for fans making that journey to turn out in London the least the team could do was join them. The main thing is we are set to go again for another season in the Prem. Let’s all have a great summer and hope the club do the right thing with the manager and recruitment
Til next season (I got the 5-0 bit right but for some reason unbeknownst to me they came out in the opposite boxes) Wim still a big club we am.

No no Cheesey … definitely not … he’s a top bloke …
Met him last week at the Bloggers meal.. travelled in from Norway .. and got a ticket to watch Everton when the y were like rocking horse excrement.
Thanks for the kind Endorsement LT and I found the Ball to be full of top Wolves ladies and gents have a great summer my friend
Can’t deduce from my post where you came up with the assumption that I would be a Boggies follower? Perhaps a result of our abysmal performance and maybe one or two Sherbets more than usual. I can assure you COD, I am Old Gold through and through
Heya Cheesey!
Did you watch Guy Garvey from the vaults tonight?
A classic!
I’ll be forever grateful to Lopetgui for helping to keep us in the Premier League for another season but I do wish he’d shut up about the clubs finances and keep his concerns out of the media.
Everytime he opens his mouth it knocks another few million off the value of the likes of Neves because other clubs will view us as desperate.
My guess is that there are several clubs in our position but all the talk is about us.
Fosun have the money but can’t invest it in the club because of our turnover. Jeff Shi has been saying this, that the FFP rules favour the established clubs, since he arrived.
FFP is what it is – is anyone advocating that we try to cheat like Man City?
Albion twat
There’s not much more I can add to what’s been said already in the heat of a very bad moment of finishing the season on a low.
However, I do agree with Mutt1eigh on many counts, particularly keeping J Lo, if we can, and certainly bringing in less valuable players, who would actually “want” to play for our beloved club and become a “team” again (when we’ve sorted out this FFP problem).
Trying to see the bright side of things isn’t easy when so many of us remember the past ‘snakes and ladders’ episodes we’ve had to endure, but watching the anger and dismay of the Leeds fans today, as they watched their club slide down the ladder into the Championship, made me thankful that we are still a premiership team… just.
Have a good summer bloggers and let us just hope our big boys can put things right.
COYW
P.S. To cheer us up here’s a drawing of our VP I did during my art class subject of ‘pop’ stars…
He, however, is so much more than that! :-))
Just? 7 points above the drop.
You’re right, John, seven points above the drop is pretty good really isn’t it?
After sitting on the bottom on Christmas Day, it just “felt” too close for comfort! :-))
brilliant drawing you should put that up for sale ..with plantys permission of course
Thank you spikey boy, I just draw for something to do in my retirement.
It keeps my grey cells working. 🙂
Let’s remember that we were dead and buried at Xmas and JLo has managed to keep us up. And we’ve finished 13th. Positives for me have been beating Liverpool, Spurs , Chelsea and Villa. Awful against Brighton and Arsenal today but losing to Leeds was the low point for me.
It remains to be seen whether JLo can juggle the squad enough. We can’t decimate the whole squad and expect to improve. I really don’t want to see another manager change.
The bucks stops with Shi and his first big mistake of sacking Nuno instead of giving him the money he threw at Lage. As for Lopetegui, I’m thankful he saved us from relegation but I’m disappointed that the quality of football has not improved since he joined, bearing in mind the money spent on the team. I doubt Nunes, Cunha etc knew how different and tougher the PL is compared to what they’re used to. If Lopetegui stays I hope he’s learnt from his first season in the PL and he spends any money available wisely. Otherwise I fear another relegation tussle next year. If he goes, I’d like to see Nuno return, or Brendan Rodgers as his replacement.
I’d like Helder Costa back.
Fun fact. Helder won the Saudi league under Nuno this past week.
Championship player. That’s why he’s in Saudi. Couldn’t hack it in Spain where Guedes was a success(!) and even Mir has done OK.
Now cones the interesting part.
What to do with the players who either don’t want to be here or aren’t good enough.
Guedes? Nunes? Ait-Nouri? Semedo? Silva? Podence?
How much can we generate from some of those players? Can we strengthen the team enough with that money?
Did not see the game but saw the extended highlights! Did we even threaten their goal! Is that being entertained?
I recently posted in the pre Arsenal game that Jeff Shi has lost face! He has failed by firing all of the advisory team and thought he could do it alone in association with super agent Mendes. We all know that now we are under FFP rules and we are in an expenditure box. The damage has been done! We nearly got relegated and now cannot really improve the team!
It is the cultural way of most Businesses operated by Chinese operators, their way or no way, just like their government.
You can talk about the sum of the transfers, but most are rolling of the dice and hope for the best. Most big transfers failed! Mendes recommendations mostly, and Shi’s people getting a cut! So frustrating!
Any premiership team needs a spine, and it is a fact that the end of last season they sold off the spine of the team speaks volumes of being naive, like really naive. No spine no fight! The writing was on the wall!
Wolves are not an “investment” to us but a way of life, a passion, historical pride and part of all of us! To the core! Not an experiment!
It it is a concern that Shi can consider our club a “project to experiment” and believe he can do it alone. Hey, take advice from experienced people!
If anyone has not yet got the message that poor management has put us in this relegation mess then they should look at the facts. We nearly got relegated this year and all we have to look forward to is hope to avoid relegation next season.
This is depressing!
Maybe I should be careful on what I write after consuming a few beverages, but hey, it comes from the heart!
No goals for two years, no upcoming transfers, and maybe no JL. Just give me some hope over the summer! Please!
No one is torturing your children fellow bloggers…
Try please to get some perspective
My guess is that our equivalent bloggers elsewhere in the PL are mostly pissed off too and maybe only 5-6 groups are really happy
Eg Citeh Villa Arsenal Brighton

Everyone else is just relieved or feeling short changed or embittered
Come on!
Our players are not ‘ mercenaries’
Our owners are not inept
( ok
They over promised)
Our squad is not hopeless
We have no idea what is going on behind the scenes … and you
Know what?
We never will
We will stay up next season , But the key is to see progress .. ..especially players like Hodge coming through the ranks
I loved seeing us string tight accurate passes together today .., there just weren’t enough at the business end… and I loved seeing Traore dribble around in the black and old gold
There’s no really no point (in my view) harping on about sins of the past

Bring on the new fixture list and let’s look forward to ‘ opening day’ as they call it here

I’m afraid a lot of them act like mercenaries, I’m in nz so don’t get to spend my hard earned cash on pampered dross but I got up at stupid o’clock and ended up flicking through all the games and what struck me was all the other teams with nothing to play for actually put in a shift, why was neves running 40-50 m to shut their keeper down why was Jimenez left isolated I fear j-Lo is holding a grudge from the World Cup and like every time he played he was given no support,
Methinks there is a very dark cloud forming over the tarnished towers and can’t see it being turned around anytime soon ,maybe mendes will give us a refund for crap goods supplied
We’ve all been mercenaries at some point in our life PN. We all take the job with the best pay and conditions.
Remember footballers are professionals and not fans. All we can expect is for the time they are contracted they give their all.
No no Cheesey … definitely not … he’s a top bloke …
Met him last week at the Bloggers meal.. travelled in from Norway .. and got a ticket to watch Everton when the y were like rocking horse excrement.
That 5-0 drubbing yesterday reminds me of the same score line against Fulham in May 2012 just before we went down twice. Different days now fortunately. Then we were coached by Terry Connors. Now we have a coach as far removed as Terry as possible. But, the clouds are almost as dense now as they were exactly 11 years ago.
If you look back at my posts this season (OK, nobody”s actually gonna do that!) you will see that I always said we would survive this season and prosper next. In hindsight I was obviously right about the former but I have grave doubts now about the latter! I expected Lopetegui to save us in style and comfort this season and he hasn’t. That doesn’t bode well. I never wanted Nuno to leave. He remains the only Wolves coach in modern times to inspire a team to be greater than the sum of its parts. Now that is in reverse mode. In Nuno’s heyday the term ‘overachieving’ was frequently used. Now it’s the opposite.
Personally I think Lopetegui may take the same view as Antonio Conte at Spurs and come to the conclusion that the problem is more with the players. He may do a Conte and walk. If not, there needs to be a root and branch clear out this summer, as we simply don’t have the nucleus of a decent team to build on. If it comes to it there will be no shortage of applications for Wolves coach. I think Brendon Rodgers may be high up on the qualified list.
Nurse! Nurse!! NURSE!!!!!
Cheeseburger’s been drinking again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody want to buy two season tickets?
Its a strange place we find ourselves Doogy….
We should be happy for staying up but it really doesn’t feel like that.
I’m unsure if its a Portuguese coach with lightweight players or players who didn’t really want to be here or if we just aren’t that good…
Its a strange feeling just now.
I can’t help thinking how it would have turned out had Nuno been given the backing.
Who knows
Finishing 13 th in the premier after being bottom at christmas is quite an acheivement also it would have been even higher for all the bad referees and var decisions I agree the football played was not great or pretty to watch but it kept us in the premier league Most teams have bad days just like Man Utd at Liverpool. I have a friend an Everton supporter who went yesterday he told me he does not want that again as it was enough to give you an heart attack they survived and we have
Although JL has worked wonders – and I do like the way he makes bold or some may say innotive changes to the team – dropping Dawson was crass – no idea what he was thinking about ?
Also playing Jimenez from the start and leaving him on for the whole game was bizarre especially as he’s sure to leave – obviously JL trying to make up for the gaff last week – but why play some-one for the whole game – when he’s off – again really strange ?
Finally, my biggest worry is after finally finding a successful formation in 4-4-2 and picking up some good wins – he keeps inexcplicably going back to to 4-3-3 and getting thrashed again – he really does make some very very odd decions – which really does worry me for next season – just not consisent enough – strange, can’t put my finger on it..
Thomas…
Massive apologies for breaching the forum rules by including my drawing.
I hope I did not cause offence as absolutely none was intended and it won’t happen again.
Happier times in London. 35 years ago today we beat Burnley 2-0 in the Sherpa Van final. Over 50,000 Wolves fans there to witness it. 81,000 attendance being the biggest ever between two fourth division teams.
Agree with your opinions about +95% of the time Thomas, (thanks to you and the others for your great work on the blog, by the way), but regarding the manager, I think we’d be much better off with him remaining in charge.
In exactly the same way that Kenny Jacket and Nuno both did what they needed to do and keep us up when Morgan turned off the taps and Nuno’s 2020/21 squad was considerably weaker than the previous season’s (for various reasons), I believe JL did what he needed to do to keep us up, no matter how boring it got, so that he could could have a proper go at it next season. You don’t get the record he’s got by accident.
Now it’s starting to look like Fosun may have tried to ‘pull a fast one’ with JL regarding FFP, and unless there’s a sudden change in outlook over the next few weeks, I fear this season’s survival has just delayed relegation by a year. I apologise for the pessimism, that’s just how I feel at the moment.
Where’s Clive?
On the heavenly beach watching an angelic Jennifer Anniston bobbing up and down on an inflatable unicorn, apparently.
Meanwhile, on Earth, we got our wish, a Raul Jimenez start at the Bottle Bank. But no Neves? Very counter productive. All over in 15 mins, thanks to Granny. We know there’s a team in there somewhere, we’ve just got to find some consistency.
And that’s got to come from the confidence and commitment of the manager in his captain, players and paymasters. All this noise off is just sapping the team spirit.
Which we loaned out to Everton in the form of Conor Coady. He was pissed off enough to jump. Note: Dyche got him on for that vital clean sheet yesterday. We’ve had to replace him with Dawson in the end. What a waste, has been mentioned.
I’ve not been so keen on Neves as captain, and think his performances have dipped since he got lumped with it after Coady left. They were the team, Conor (C)and Ruben (VC). Neves has been keeping quiet on the matter like a true pro, but ……
We’re in the lurch, and have been since Jimi’s injury and later Bruno’s barmy clear out and spend. A brace for Jota yesterday, just to remind us of what is what.
We bought big with Bruno and Mendes, and I understand anyone not wanting to give up on £150mill player investments.
Consistently the 13th best team in the UK since the beginning of March, though results have been lumpy, so we have something. Just not last day away to the Bottlers.
It’s up to J-Lo to sort this out, or not. We need to get it clarified asap to avoid repeating the trials of this season. I hope he can see a way to make it work, really he’s just finding his feat in the EPL 6 months in. Time will tell, but hurry up.
Ta Ra Foxes, away at Rotherham, The Den and the Poorthorns next year. Send us a postcard to let us know you’re still alive.
We’ll be squashed in a Kennel with those dogs from Luton. Plus Oh No its fkin Burnley.
1 lv & COYW.
Very interesting summer ahead. JLo has achieved exactly what was asked of him, so well done to him and his staff…..so far. Now, the next challenge begins…..managing Jeff Shi, Mendes and Matt Hobbs to deliver what he needs to make us better next season. The Shi/ Mendes axis has inflicted the difficult position we now find ourselves in and on the playing front they should not be allowed to wreak more damage- if they do it will be terminal to our PL existence. I’m looking forward to the acquisition of young hungry talent and the exit of useless multi million acquisitions like Guedes, Semedo, et al. Wolves are at their best when there is desire and intensity in our play and too many of our squad this season have lacked a connection to the fans or simply would prefer to be somewhere else. The best thing that can happen to us is that Fosun manage to reduce their share in the club and secure further investment, which is their stated ambition anyway. Best of luck to Jeff in pursuit of that but please stay way from recruitment!
It’s a bit of a head-scratcher. From week to week, depending on whether we’re home or away, JL is either the saviour or has no idea what he’s doing. The away form has been truly dreadful, he’s been here long enough now to address it. I was thinking it has to be one of the worst away records for a side who has survived the drop. We’ve been barley competitive in many games. It’s been said somewhere else, but at least under Nuno it was very rare we didn’t give the opposition a game, regardless of what you thought of his tactics.
But the wider point is it’s not sustainable. The home form in 2023 has been welcome, I’m sure all season ticket holders will agree after considerable dirge over many years, but how long can it really go on? There will come a point where we have a bad home run (you can’t survive on 1-0s and pray for clean sheets forever). That means you have to provide some sort of resistance away to relieve the pressure. It’s been nothing short of pitiful and I think any other manager would be being seriously questioned.
JL is still in his honeymoon period and dining off a few impressive home wins. But 41 points, less than a goal a game (again) and 2 away wins is no model for success. We’re close to circling the drain and it catches up with most teams (Southampton, Leeds this season, very nearly Everton). If you’re standing still in this league, you’re going backwards.
So, next season. JL needs to decide if he’s on board now. Put up and literally shut up, or go. I’m fed up of reading his moans after each press conference. Sure, make your point but he will have to make the best of what he’s got. He’s supposedly an elite manager.
If he’s not fully invested he needs to go now so we can get someone who does want this inviting Premier League opportunity, budget or no budget.
Please oh please can we find a goalscorer? If that’s Fabio Silva, great. I think he’s earned the right for a decent run. It’s been poor this season. Some nice home wins papered over the cracks a little but the pathetic showings at Brighton and Arsenal, to name but two, show how much hard work there is to be done over the summer.
Other than a certain penalty on Adama (nearly had his shirt rip off , any other top 6 club var would have awarded ) there wasn’t any threat up front as usual from our non existence goal shy forwards.
Loppy got a lot of work to do this summer to knock what ever left of the squad after the clear out and any new players into some sort of unit to stave off relegation
next season after another dismal display .
But you never know miracles do happen and we can only hope he stays and drags us back up the to the dizzy heights of the early Nuno era and beyond
Plenty of shooting practice so our forwards know where the net is and our soft defence should be top of the summer training sessions.
Have read and tried to digest the above and the weight of opinion seems to be that, despite the miracle performed by JL we’re still in deep trouble. For all the brickbats that have been thrown at a few of us bloggers some of us have seen this coming for around 3 years.
Fosun went cool on “the project”.
The autocratic Shi wrested sole control.
The heady days of Nuno’s revolution were then starved of financial support compounded by a Shi / Mendes ambush on recruitment (along with “who Sellars”).
This has resulted in dreadful investment in a stream of Iberian second raters, don’t want to be heres and no hopers which is now being used as an excuse to continue the stagnation of proper investment (FFP)to back the man they (Fosun) have been trying to attract to the club since they arrived.
An absolute catalogue of mismanagement under Shi since Laurie Dalrymple took his commercial and sporting nous off to Harlequins.
Lopetegui is clearly not a happy man and if he has been hoodwinked will probably walk.
And so the spiral will continue downwards towards the inevitability of relegation unless there is a complete rethink in Shanghai, not just WV1. But how highly do we rate on the list if priorities over there? Not very it seems.
As a man who likes a flutter on the horses I normally follow the advice of a late close friend and only bet on creatures with 4 legs. But the only thing stopping me putting money on Wolves being relegated next time is that after well over 60 years as a loyal supporter I couldn’t bet against Wolves as a matter of principle.
Seen it all before, tough times ahead, unless Fosun come to the fore rapido.
In JL’s own words. …………
“The most important thing is to say the truth to our fans and If we have a problem we have to solve the problem because we are competing in the Premier League and it has a big, big demand,” Lopetegui added.
“The future does not depend on me, it depends on the club. I hope we are going to do the necessary things despite the financial problems. The rest of the teams will do the same. Now is the moment to analyse and tell the truth.
“Maybe one miracle is possible, two – no. That is why you have to learn for the future to be able to improve and do our hard work.”
Wow; tried to read through most of the comments which were well thought out in the main by fans who really care, whatever our different viewpoint.
I’m a little worried Julen might leave if not backed adequately, but have renewed my season ticket having experienced far worse times before.
It’s not in Fosun’s interest to continue in the manner of the last few seasons but FFP seems to be a problem.
Julen, to my thinking, in his team choice for Arsenal, was showing the powers that be the lack of depth and roles necessary to be even competitive against good teams. If this is not addressed, then Jeff cannot say he has not received fair, constant and continuous warning.
We have a decent amount of midfieldish players. We all know where we need to strengthen and it must be done. The fans have been incredibly patient and the home performances over the games latterly have helped.
Maybe three really effective signings could do the trick, maybe. Whatever, hopefully I will be there to see the outcome. COYW.
A good, balanced post, as ever, DW.
I suspect we will be fishing in a smaller pool for the necessary recruits this time round. A fullback experienced at PL level, aggressive CF in the mould of the Swedish lad at Coventry and a goalscoring No. 10 most likely.
It will be interesting to see if Fabio has developed sufficiently to provide attacking options but I suspect he will always be too lightweight for the PL. The Austrian CF probably won’t play too many games and there will be high expectations of Chiquinha following his ACL.
We’ve seen it all before , of course, and I still maintain that the best time to be a Wolves fan since the Bully years was the Kenny Jackett era when we took League One by storm. Great football, brilliant atmosphere.
You would put the Kenny jacket era above Nuno”s championship title winning season, the subsequent season in the pl when we qualified for Europe and the following season”s European adventure? Seriously?
Oh yes- we were in free fall, no money to spend, KJ transformed the team with spectacular results.
31 wins and only 5 defeats, GD 58. The Good Friday match against Rotherham finished 6-4 and was one of the best I can recall.
The Nuno years were very good but Kenny Jackett deserves more credit imho.
Fair point about the context he inherited and if it’s your favourite period, that’s fair enough.
Credit to Kenny Jackett for getting us out of Div 1 .. we were in competition with Leyton Orient and Rotherham .. but that’s no where near the challenge of Cardiff at the time… our 1-0 win at Cardiff and the 2-1 victory at Bristol City proved pivotal in our success in the Championship.
So definitely not KJ for me…
I for one, loved the year in div one. Great every where we went. No problems with away tickets, no train strikes no hate, just a great day out, we have to be careful what we wish for.
At the beginning of the season, I made a note of a computer forecast for the end of the Premier League season.
Always interesting of course, but there is so much that can happen during a season, including a transfer window , that this is not a great forecast, but I send it
merely as a matter of interest.
10 Leicester 50
11 West Ham 48
12 Brentford 48
13 C Palace. 48
14 Wolves. 45
15. Leeds. 42
16. Everton. 41
17. Saints. 40
18. Fulham. 38
19. Bournemouth 38
20 N Forest. 33
The forecast , however was correct re City.
Forecast: Bournemouth relegated, 19th with 38pts
Actuality: Bournemouth a (relatively) comfortable 15th with 39 pts
None of the forecasts I saw predicted a team surviving with Everton’s 36pts.
I follow fivethirtyeight* and, back in July, they had us finishing 14th on 46pts. That total would have had us in 11th. In the end we finished one place higher with 5pts fewer.
I think this just highlights what a dogfight it was in the bottom half this season and how difficult it is to finish in the top half, let alone Top7.
* Here: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/premier-league/
I think it highlights how meaningless computer predictions are, if there was an algorythm that actually worked we would all be rich from winnings at the bookies. Football played by 22 humans throws up random sporadic anomalies that ultimately shape the outcome of teams. Computers cannot predict that.
Just a bit of fun, Claptrap.
Lighten up, eh?
Fair enough SP
No one believes that these computer predictions will get it exactly right, there’s always a margin for error built in.
But, if at the beginning of the season you ‘d have asked who will qualify for Europe and who will be in a relegation battle, Kendal’s list wouldn’t have been too bad a prediction, don’t you think?
As I say, just a bit of fun :0)
Exactly! Just a bit of fun. I thought some might be interested. I did not intend to upset anyone.
I think upset is a bit strong for voicing a fairly benign opinion Kendal. Definately nobody upset here. The ‘Super Computer Football Predictor’ is just clickbait though, hence they call it a ‘super’. Any up-to-date laptop or half decent Android phone could run that algorythm, betting apps for example. You could do it on several peices of paper if you didn’t have the luxury of those items with a wealth of time on your hands and a good grasp of maths. It’s a bit of fun but absolute nonsense at the same time. It has slightly more credibility than pundits predictions though, they may have a superior technical understand the game but as far as predicting they have no more knowledge than us punters. The only thing predictable about this season was Man City winning the league again (yawn). Everything else was compounded by pesky unpredictable humans. It all keeps the cogs oiled and the moola rolling in though. My prediction for next season is it will be equally as unpredictable as this season 🙂
Claptrap, you fundamentally misunderstand the intent of these predictions: it’s an exercise in probablity, NOT certainty.
Although the 2022 predictions weren’t exactly correct, most of them were there or thereabouts.
Would Man City win the league? Probably . . . . although 2 months ago it wasn’t looking likely.
Would Wolves qualify for Europe? Probably not and would probably be in the bottom half of the table finishing about 14th, avoiding relegation
It isn’t nonsense!
With football, it’s just a bit of fun, provides a little entertainment.
But in the real world these techniques have serious applications. Playing around with data from football helps statisticans develop and refine models that allow us to predict supposedly random events (such as the weather, earthquakes, etc) with a good deal of accuracy – rarely exactly right, but there or thereabouts and usually good enough to keep most of us safe.
I wasn’t dismissing all computers or computer predictions SP, just football. Subjective i know, nonsense imo. Computer models are a world away from football predictions.
Or we could just do the math SP.
Big Six will be in the top 6, newly promoted clubs will be in the bottom 3, everyone else somewhere inbetween. Job done, no super computer needed. 🙂
Shit happens and as sure as night follows day a tsunami of negative speculation pours from this blog as to what catastrophy will next befall us if we don’t do X, Y and/or Z.
Some perspective, back in October we got battered 4 nil at home by now relegated Leicester so getting battered away to the second best team in the league in a dead rubber game is progress of sorts. The form book says it all though, before this game we had amassed 11pts on the road and Arsenal a title chasing 42 on home turf so the result was kinda predictable.
We stayed up, after that it was all about next season.
All the hot air about JLo leaving, if he didn’t know about the FFP situation then he needs to sack his representives, FFP is standard throughout Europe so they should’ve done due diligence. If he’s fickle enough to bail now the big guns have come sniffing then good riddance, that shitty merry go round is ruining the game and there are plenty of good managers looking for work in this league. He’ll stay though cos it’s all just speculative reading between the lines.
I wouldn’t say the future is bright, it’s probably more cloudy with sunny spells. We go again in this corrupt competition where we are exactly where the status quo want us to be, nowhere near challenging them and the only minnow who has come close to doing that has just been relegated. Business as usual.
Thanks to Thomas, Ben and all the other authors for continuing with this blog.
Some food for thought
https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2023/may/23/perhaps-one-day-this-whole-age-of-football-will-require-an-asterisk-manchester-city-premier-league-title
fantastic article many thanks and unfortunately completely true.
WHO ARE THE MUGS ! US
A little article on our esteemed coach…
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/may/31/julen-lopetegui-when-i-came-to-wolves-a-lot-of-friends-asked-me-why
My drawing is back… wonder where it went. I thought I’d been a naughty boy. :-))
Excellent leader Thomas.
Coady is returning. For a quick sandwich or for a while? We’d certainly be more solid with him, Dawson and Kilman as the core of a back 5 but it would be more boring football and a back 5 system is not workable without a plan B, as Nuno found out.
With our financial woes and the pitiful fee we are asking for him i think we should keep him Pedant. He would give JLo the option of a back 5 as a plan B when needed.
Would he want to come back though?
Don’t get it.
We’re told we’re struggling to sign new players under FFP and Conor Coady has been unceremoniously told by Everton to pack his bags and return.to Molineux.
So one of the greatest servants of many a year who was ditched by the useless Lage is returning home. Surely, surely, a place can be found for him to return as club captain and a fully fledged member of Jl’s squad with Ruben Neves leaving. Not saying he should be an automatic starter but with 2 years left on his contract he could still have a big role to play; yet the assumption seems to be he’ll be moved on again. What law states that you can’t go back?
Unless of course he no longer wants to play for us, which would be understandable.
Not sure why would it be understandable when it was seemingly the decision of a manager who was subsequently sacked. Please enlighten me.
Because he was pretty shoddily treated all round.
It does seem so PJB and we won’t know all the ‘ins and outs’ until Conor writes his memoirs, which will be a very good read.
I’ve always taken the view ‘never go back’ in life and the Wolfpack that Conor knew and led is much changed.
However, if Ruben also leaves we need leadership in the dressing room and only Bentley appears to be of the right material. Dawson is also a seasoned pro but both are very new to Wolves, of course.
Conor will not be short of suitors from both the newly promoted teams and the recently demoted, expensively assembled relegated teams which will be dismantled. Another fascinating aspect of the close season.
We don’t really know that as far as I’m aware. In my view the club were pretty good at letting him go to rivals at a time when we were short of experience at the back and bent to his wishes of getting regular game time pre world cup.
Well we definitely had our success with 3-at-the-back.
Coady + killman, boly, Bennet, saiss.
A 5 midfield when Donk joined moutinho and neves with Doc and Johnny running wide.
Leaving Roul and Jota up front.
I recall that as very exciting time and saw some really great games.
I’d settle for a defence as solid as that.
A midfield as steady and creative with strikers as strikers, upfront, shooting and scoring.
Truth be told Jim Nuno’s Championship team was much better than this lot, the key word being TEAM. Nevertheless I’ve renewed my ST in spite of my reservations about all that’s going on at Molineux. Serious questions remain unanswered though as to where we’re heading, with or without Lopetegui.
We can only try to keep the faith regardless.
Under Nuno we had some epic wins in the Championship. Down to nine men against Pulis’s Middlesboro, but still won it. The amazing win against Cardiff despite conceding two penalties in a few minutes, and upsetting Colin no end. All the more satisfying against two such loudmouths. Magic moments.
Does anyone know when we might be announcing our retained list? Seems like a few pl clubs have done so already.
Still waiting for confirmation of departures from platforms 1,2,3 and 4 Sutton.
Thanks PJB. Just seen it’s now been released with moutinho and Costa definitely gone. Traore might possibly stay and a number of U21s released including Luke Matheson. Shows you how difficult it can be to make it at the top level. £1m as an 18 year old who had scored at Old Trafford but in the end never got near the first team. Let’s hope all the kids flourish elsewhere and can have decent careers
Regards Matheson .. this is the folly (in some cases) of buying “ones for the future” …
He never got near the first team …
Still it’s only ONE million… no wonder FFP lurks..
Too true. If we’d left Matheson where he was he would hardly have been worse off and we’d have been a million quid plus wages better off.
The Zeli Ismail story is a classic. Hyped up as the future first £100mil player. Now his transfer value is listed at £100k.
PS Many thanks to Thomas, Ben, et al for the best football blog around.
Zele played for Wolves this week. In the TST tournament.
Is there a possibility of shutting this thread off and making a new one for the closed season or we will use all our scrolls up ( if thats possible)
Ones for the Future….. a, well not at Molineux the lad from Rochdale and Jeff’s golden child who doesn’t want to come back to Wolves hence another loan or may be a permanent move just another example if needed of our floored transfer dealing over the last 3 seasons, Jeff is willing to flog his Golden Child £35 Million…sorry £36 million including the lad from Dale….down….” T ” drain grey house keeping Jeff and the gang no wonder we are in stuck with FFP rules with the clowns in charge.
The clowns who have taken us to a sixth succesive season in the top flight for the first time since mid 70’s. Hopeless……..
COD
Your positivity does you credit but you ignore the fact that were it not for the fact that JL has performed one of The Great Escapes in Premier League history (and yes there was top flight football here for well over a century beforehand) we would have not been “celebrating” a sixth successive season but a return to exactly where found us. Not exactly much substance to the exotic Fosun promises early doors. We’ve had some fun but nothing very tangible to see in the record books.
At least we are not Leicester/Leeds/Southampton/ Watford/Norwich/Sandwell/ Stoke/ Derby / etc etc
Yeah Cheese I get your point…..but it’s no good keep looking back……it the future that’s important and if it wasn’t for JL pulling us out the more we could have been joining those teams.
And you cannot deny the facts…… poor judgement and management over the last 3 seasons especially recruitment nearly cost us dear and if JL is not backed then it won’t be long until we join the Southampton’s and the Leicester’s it not just the team that needs new blood it’s the board as well because that’s where the crucial decisions are being made…..and the board is Jeff Shi.
CHW
Sorry to be negative but with the mayhem going on at Molineux I’m not sure I don’t prefer looking back to the Nuno era because since Laurie Dalrymple saw the light re Jeff Shi and jumped the Fosun ship for pastures new the recruitment / transfer performance under Shi and Sellars has been nothing but an ongoing catastrophe.
Major examples
The giveaway sale of Jota with added bonus of extended payments
The associated purchase of Hoever £10m
Plus
Cuitrone £17m
Jordao £3m
Silva £36m
Nunes £38m
Guedes £28m
Collins £22m
The historically injury prone Kalajdzic £15m
Matthieson and other oddballs “for the future” plus players acquired purely for Grasshoppers Zurich, say £10m.
Not far short of £200million in 3 seasons
Then add in unsuccessful expensive loans, particularly Vitinha, Trincao, Jose Willian and Costa.
Jury apparently still out on Ait-Nouri, Sa, Cunha, Semedo and even Neto.
FFP enforcers breathing down our necks, unsurprisingly.
Some mitigation and credit due for the flurry of activity in. Jan to support JL but how certain are we about his long term commitment as there now appears to be a trust issue with Shi.
As things stand we seem to face a very uncertain future. Trouble is I’ve seen it all before, particularly in the early 1980’s and it all looks horribly familiar.
But of course we have to look to the future, so hope springs springs eternal.
Hi PJB, I’m certainly no fan of our recruitment strategy for the last 3 years- it has been a pretty much unmitigated disaster. However, I think the comparison of fosun to the Bhatti era is unfair. In fairness to fosun they have tried to invest for the most part, the bhattis never did. Incompetent yes but not wilfully derelict in their ownership.
I agree it would be unfair to compare directly with the Bhattis Sutton, but it’s still a mess. And time has shown that Fosun have mixed agendas which include their share in Gestitute and associations with Grasshoppers. Commercially this isn’t just about Wolverhampton Wanderers, also have a look at their holdings in the Portuguese banking sector.
Sasa us nit historically injury prone. He had a broken bone in his foot and someone fell into his Legrand wrecked his knee.
Probably would have wrecked most players’ knee.
Supposedly Ansu Fati coming to wolves as part payment for neves,
Another of mendes clients who whose publicly said he doesn’t want to come to wolves, obviously the clubs learnt Jack shit dealing with this money grabbing narcissistic arse
PJB. Come on mate. How can you possibly compare the Bhatti brothers with Fosun. Bhatti’s wouldn’t even put the floodlights on until half time in December. Division 4. V 6 years in premier league. Fosun last season spent 180 million. Only City and Chelsea spent more. The comparison is ludicrous old mate.
I’m all for criticising bad decisions made by those at the top at Molineux but shouldn’t we wait until they’ve made those decisions?
The transfer window doesn’t open for over a week. Surely not even PJB can criticise Jeff Shi for rumours spread by a media desperate for something to write.
Spikey (above) asks for a new blog; can we have two, please? One where sensible supporters can exchange views and one just for the lunatic fringe to slag off Jeff Shi, Mendes and Fosun.
If you review the last 3 years Sp you aren’t being positive you’re defending the indefensible.
So its official we are the dirtiest side in the premier league by a country mile
new thread please because this needs a lot of discussion
dirtiest side my grannies arse !!!!!
