Recently, many fans have claimed to be disenfranchised about the goings on at Molineux. This got me thinking, “Why do we suddenly feel alienated from our club?” and so here, after many hours of pondering, perusing and pontificating, are my own reasons.

Didn’t he used to play for us?
The answer, probably, is “yes”. But the answer is actually more likely to be “yes, barely”.
Mark Davies, Elliot Bennett, and Andrew Surman are just three players who will be in the Premier League without us next season. But is this a new phenomena?
You will watch Reading play (most likely) in the Premier League next season and two of their players (Adam Federici and Jason Roberts) spent time at Wolves in the late nineties and early noughties, and Mr Roberts went on to play (so far) 9 seasons in the Premier League while we (mostly) lingered in the Championship. “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure”.
Cup Game A and Cup Game B
Remember them? Some of you may not. Next year will be my 18th season ticket and when I first had my season ticket at the tender age of 7, we got the first two cup games of the season free. Not only that, we got a 10% discount, as season ticket holders, in the club shop; it wasn’t much, but it was something, a small token of appreciation from our club.
Gradually, it was just Cup Game A, then just league games. Hang on?! Where’s my 10% discount gone?!! Oh, I see…I get 10% of my purchase (a £40 shirt) credited to my “My Molineux” account…but if I don’t use in 28 days I lose the credit balance. I was brought up well…so I suppose I should say thank you.
This is all made worse when I look up the road to West Bromwich Albion, by all accounts a very similar club. Their season ticket holders get a 10% discount in the club shop…seems fair…their season ticket holders get a £10 voucher for the club shop each Christmas…that’s a nice gesture. Their season tickets are cheaper too?!! To quote Peter Griffin “that really grinds my gears”.

Is he any better than who we’ve already got, though?
The answer, I’m afraid, is probably “No, he’s not and I think he might be slightly worse”. To go with our chronic inability to develop promising young players, we also fail yo buy player that actually improve the squad. Is Roger Johnson better than Richard Stearman? Well, having watched him for a season, no he is not and has a terrible effect on the team. Was Greg Halford better than Foley? No, he was worse and lazy. Was Maierhofer better than ANYONE?!! No, he wasn’t, and will be remembered in the same breath as Tomasz Frankowski, Cedric Roussel and Robert Taylor.
There has been the odd signing that has improved the team in the Premiership, Doyle and Fletcher spring to mind, but generally we watch a team of Championship players who did well to get us where we are and a team of Championship standard playing who have been added since. Yet I still switched on Sky Sports every day in both transfer windows hoping to see that we had made a signing.
I would like to quote Ben here, “We are not fickle. We just want to be reunited with our club – be it at Bramall Lane or White Hart Lane”. Well, the former setting looks more likely but the sentiment remains. It is, in my opinion, not a sudden reaction of our fans to say “I feel alienated by my club” and it’s not because we’re likely to be back in the Championship next season.
It is a build up of things which have taken place over nearly two decades which have severely weakened the bond between the club and the people in the stands. I hope, and I fear it is in vain, that Steve Morgan will come and address the fans after the Wigan game; I also hope, probably equally in vain, that should this happen the fans will let him have his say and not just drown him out with boos.
I would like to finish with a fond farewell to A Load of Bull. Publications like that made websites like this possible.
* Thomas: A massive thanks to Dom (Tettenhall Wolf) for sending in this guest blog. I’ve been inundated with submissions in recent weeks, but have just been too busy to go through them all. I will respond to everyone and if at all possible, post everything up on the site. Apologies to all for the delay.

The panel on Skysports gave us a few words of encouragement on Saturday before kick off – Charlie Nicolas in partcular going on to say the Wolves fans deserve an apology for the diabolical handling of the club. He went on to point out that Moxey and Morgan know full well that the WOlves faithful will pack out the Mol again next season, whatever league we are in, and figured they’d have little to lose. We are football fans, and think with out hearts more than our heads, but we have been shafted good and proper by those two muppets – nothing short of a full sincere apology from both of them will be acceptable.
Until then I will be leading the anti-establishment sentiment online and in the stands well into next season.
Fuck off Morgan. Fuck off Moxey.
ditto!! and i guess you have spoken for the vast majority of us mr ad mant..its as if the muppets in charge are having a bloody party but didnt think the fans should be invited..A reminder miss morgan and boyfriend moxey…WE OWN WOLVES..NOT YOU with all your wads…yeah great talk but very little substance girls x
Great article Dom.
Regarding your points about players leaving and transfers:
We’ve let certain players leave prematurely, there’s no doubt about that.
However, (just to play devil’s advocate) there was simply no point keeping the likes of Davies and Surman under McCarthy, because we would never have played to their strengths.
I always thought Surman was crap if I’m honest. On the rare occasion he did play, he looked weak and out of his depth. The game just seemed to always pass him by. But with hindsight, he just needed to play in a side that actually got the ball down and passed.
From minute one in the Premier League, style of play has been our biggest problem. The only time we’ve really managed a consistent run of form is the tail end of the first season, where Mick went ultra-defensive with a 451 and two holding midfielders.
It was dull and boring, but it was bloody effective. I foolishly hoped he’d maintain the same shape and just improve the weakest areas of the team. But we’ve continued to fart around between 442 and 451 ever since, never really knowing what our best system is.
Every time Mick brought a new player in it just served to confuse him even more.
To me, successful managers have a clear idea about how they want to play and they bring in the players to implement that system.
Mick seemed to want to play a direct game, but never brought in a big physical presence up front or a pacey forward that could get in behind.
I wouldn’t say the problem was we didn’t buy ‘better’ players, I’d say it was more we didn’t buy the right type of players that were suited to how Mick wanted to play.
Your point about ticket prices and incentives is indisputable. Something must be done about that.
I gotta take issue with your assessment of Davies and possibly Surman.
The fact that we would never have played to their strengths is a damning indictment of the manager, not the players.
If he can’t recognize a player’s quality, or see how he can fit into his team, or, more damning than anything, how he can adapt his team to accomodate a good player, then it is the manager who needs to be got rid of, not the player.
That in a nutshell sums up McDickwadhead’s problem, his inability to assess, adapt, and modify according to changing needs.
That is why the prick should have gone after the Old Trafford 10 debacle, when he proved beyond a shadow of doubt he had well and truly lost his bottle, which was almost 2 years before he actually went.
If you look back in older blogs you will see that was when I started to call for his head and was accused of treason and all manner of other crimes against humanity!!!
I really hate to say it but I told you so back then!!!
Anyway, water well and truly under the bridge now….in fact the fuckin’ bridge has collapsed as well, let’s move on to moxey’s contract……or should that read contract for moxey????!!!!
Clive, do they speak a different language in Texas or something? If you read my comment properly, you’d see that I did in fact blame the manager for not playing to the strengths of the players mentioned, as well as not buying players to fulfill his preferred system.
And please, please don’t get on your high horse cowboy with the ‘I told you so’ nonsense. You said we’d be relegated last season and the season before. You also said Roger Johnson was the best defender in England when we signed him.
Naturally, we were pretty much all wrong about Johnson, but please don’t give it the big ‘I told you so’ like you’re some kind of oracle.
And forgive me for attempting to actually talk about something to do with players and tactics instead of repeating the same old verbal tirade daily.
Somebody got out of bed the wrong side this morning!!!
Yes I did say we would get relegated last season…. as did everyone else, and how far short of that were we?
And, like everyone else, I thought Johnson was a good signing….so for those two mis prophesees I, like everyone else, eat humble pie.
But it dont stop me trying to wind you up, coz that’s wot I do!!!!!
And yes I do speak a different language here in Texas….I speak English while all around me try to, or speak Spanglish!!
Have a nice day, y’all!!
Great effort Dom. I could give you 101 reasons why I feel so alienated. The main one is the smug spin and bullshit that eminates from our once respectable club, which inadvertently earns £1.3 million per annum for our CEO in the process:
Three quotes that were idly spun in months gone by, which Jez now presumes are airbrushed from history:
1. Stadium redevelopment. In the fans’ parliament minutes from February 2011 – all on http://www.wolves.co.uk for fans to read, I quote:
“Mark Cadman said: Fans of my age will remember that it nearly broke the club when we built what is now the Steve Bull Stand 30 or so years ago.”
Jez responded: “That won’t happen this time. Phase One of the rebuild is being funded from working capital. It won’t be borrowed and there will be no debt. We’re not going to put all our eggs in one basket. We have to balance the work properly with building a team.”
WHAT HAPPENED THEN JEZ? WHO DID THE BALANCING?
Jez then said: “Steve and I have had many heart to hearts on this subject and I’ve reiterated in writing and verbally on many occasions that the work can’t be done at the expense of developing a team that is capable of competing.”
IT WAS CLEARLY DONE AT THE EXPENSE OF DEVELOPING A TEAM CAPABLE OF COMPETING!
2. From the Sep 2010 minutes, Jez said: “Once we have started (with the North Bank) we can’t really stop after one stand because we’ll have an antiquated Steve Bull stand that would be out of place with the new one.”
WE HAVE STOPPED!
Oh, and most telling of all: 3 (again from Sep 2010 minutes) Jez: “We are increasing the capacity at a time when we can’t justify it.”
If you marry all these quotes together, it is plain to see that not only is Jez Moxey a liar, but also a man who is incompetent and incapable of overseeing any sort of strategy. The last quote proves there was NO strategy.
Please Jez, Steve, stop insulting our intelligence and tell it like it is for once in your lives.
This. Can’t. Go. On!
The problem here is they actually can’t do that. It’d be like a politician saying ‘listen, we don’t really know what we’re doing, we lean heavily on civil servants and focus groups and as soon as anything gets bad press we pull it’ – true as it may be, the illusion of control must be maintained or there’d be panic in the streets.
if m&m come out and admit that they’re running the club on the back of a fag packet they’d be (rightfully) lynched. so they continue to make it all sound like they know what they’re doing and the club’s in safe hands.
the catch-22 is, they probably aren’t quite as inept as we imagine; the club is run in the black and not everything they touch turns to shit – we’ve just spent 3 consecutive years in the top flight which is a high water mark in my life as a Wolves fan. unfortunately, a combination of some spectacular fuck-ups and some bare-faced lies has led the majority of fans to the inevitable conclusion that a hyperactive dog with a fondness for shagging furniture and fetching sticks would make a better custodian of our cherished club than this pair.
so what we need to hear is a statement along the lines of
“we’re not the best people at running a football club in the whole world, we make mistakes and sometimes compound them by trying not to admit to what we’ve done, but we are trying our hardest and will strain every sinew to ensure that the lessons learned this season are never to be repeated. have a pint and a pie on us.”
i particularly liked moxey’s statement before the Notlob game “TC has placed us in the best possible position to push on for safety” …. The Best possible position was rock bottom, 5 straight defeats in a row…. I’m going to try and convince my boss that missing every deadline and 5 sickies in a row is the best possible way for me to approach my job… think it’ll fly ?
SCOUSE OUT ! PIE EATER OUT !
Yeah, I remember that one too Ad. How about Moxey’s foolproof response to Pat Murphy of 5 Live, when asked why Wolves had appointed a novice when Moxey himself categorically said initially that the job was not for a novice.
Moxey replied with: “I contest that Terry Connor is a novice.”
Priceless!
Isn’t there a Monty Python sketch in it somewhere?!
He’s just resting… he he
With all due respect Ben, I think (like a lot of others) you’re being a bit over-the-top. Redevelopment of the stadium is a long-term project 10-20 years. Wolves are in a strong position financially and will continue to be so under the present ownership. I think that most can expect us to be challneging
Hi Dave, unsurprsingly, I disagree.
I quote again, from our £1.3 million CEO, who states: “We are increasing the capacity at a time when we can’t justify it.”
Staying in the Premier League is the long term project, not ripping down part of a stadium at the expense of it.
Just ask Fulham. Or West Bromwich Albion.
Sorry was cut off mid thread. As I was saying, most people would expect us to be challenging at the top of the Championship or the lower reaches of the premier league for a few years to come. It’s clear from the transfer strategy over the past 3 seasons and before that that the owners are keen on investing in the team and we’ve spent quite a bit of cash. Other teams have invested similarly and achieved this aim.
Now you can argue that McCarthy wasn’t the man for the job and should have gone at the end of last season or that he should have been able to stick this season out. Either way we might have been in better shape to stay up. The debacle with MM’s sacking was a cock-up of the highest order. Cock-up accepted, let’s not start going mental and pulling our hair out. We’ve got a good squad capable of getting straight back up again next year, we are an extremely attractive club as a management opportunity and should have no trouble attracting the best (despite the recruitment disaster, easier to get someone in when the remit is ‘keep us up and you keep the job’, which was I think Morgan’s take on things).
I agree entirely with Dom’s comments above about fans’ concessions and stuff. I think the club certainly could treat us much better. It wouldn’t lose the club much to offer a couple of freebie FA cup tickets and the payment in kind back from the fans and good feeling would be worth it.
I think a lot this reactionary ‘Sack Moxey, sack the board’ shit is totally short sighted. I imagine it makes Morgan sick in his stomach that we’re not doing a Norwich, Swansea etc, same for us. If we stay in the shape we’re in – including investiment in the stadium and infrastructure – over the next 5-10 years we’ll eventually hit gold.
I know I’m going to get roundly pilloried for this, but come on, let’s have some perspective and try to be more positive.
well eventually hit gold is what ive been saying for over 15 yrs! someone must have moved it cos we aint bleedin found it!! positive is not a word i can associate with wolves any more and believe me i have tried!!
Dave
But surely you are missing the point a bit – the issue causing such consternation is spending on the infrastructure when not spending on the team (especially when you consider that the infrastructure was sound). Fans like me can only speculate but it is not unreasonable to look at our investment in players over the last two transfer windows and come to the conclusion that it has been constrained by the investment in the infrastructre.
It seems to me that Morgan has taken his £30m covenanted investment and invested the overwhelming majority of it into infrastructure (the new North Bank, the land adjacent to Molineux, the training facilities, etc.etc) all of this investment will ultimately be shown on the Clubs Balance Sheet and therefore has more chance of being recovered should (and I clearly state should) Morgan seek to leave.
Well maybe a bit, but I sometimes feel like it’s ‘damned if they do, damned if they don’t’ for the powers that be at the Wolves. First Mick’s incompetent, spent shite load of money on rubbish (correct me if I’m wrong, but I think we’ve spent considerably more than many of the teams above us in safety in the league), MICK OUT etc, then he goes and everyone’s now moaning about spending too much money on a new stand and not investing in the team! It’s a load of old nonsense.
You’re alluding to the old conspiracy theory that Morgan’s just trying to make money out of the club. Well sorry, but I think that’s just a whole load of old bollocks too. There were hardly people queuing up to buy us when Sir J was offering us for a quid, and Wolverhampton is hardly a hub of investment at the moment. Have you walked down Dudley St recently?
Nope, Morgan’s a football man who wants us to be successful. The best way to do that is to think in the long term. He lost sight of that when he sacked Mick in the emotional aftermath of losing to the shit. I just hope he’s got the stomach to put up with all the thugs who seem to think they pass as loyal fans and stick with us for the forseeable future.
Well said Ben, but you forget the best one
“we won’t do an Albion”
And also one from mr Morgan After the Blackburn game last year
“this will not happen again” well Steve it is happening!
no it cant go on but you can be damn sure it will!! morgan needs someone below him who has a football finance brain not just a fat head that seems to be unable to tell the truth!! what morgan did by entering the changing room proved a lack of experience on his part but relying on miss moxey as his right hand thingy has proved what we all suspected all along….useless, clueless, not fit for purpose. i am sure billy smarts would welcome her back with open arms ..
A total lack of vision and ineptness. I fear this will be compounded with the appointment
of Clipbored.
There’s no doubt in my mind that asset stripping via the squad will take place.
What is required is some experienced players a la Ince and Irwin types and a creative midfielder or two with pace. A proven goal scorer or two wouldn’t go amiss!
In terms of Dumb and Dumber what can I say that hasn’t already been said, the new stand says it all.
I contest there’s plenty of ineptness.
Yes Martin absolutely bucketfuls!
i agree, shedloads!
I just noticed that Tomasz Frankowski is the 2nd top scorer in the Polish League. (That probably says more about the Polish League than about the way Hoddle used him).
Great blog! I’m not and never have been a season ticket holder, but i have been in China for quite a while, so that’s my excuse. I really don’t blame everyone for feeling alienated, when everyone’s treated like mushrooms by the club.
In ANY other profession the litany of balls-ups made by moxey and co would have resulted in the sack, especially in today’s climate.
Oh, just saw this: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2130964/Wolves-keeper-Wayne-Hennessey-ruled-rest-season.html
So Hennessey out for the remainder of the season…perfect. Let’s hope De Vries is as good as he is supposed to be; he’ll need to be against City!
Think we have a wealth of riches in the ‘keeper dpt.. I would be happy with DeVries or Ikeme… Its always been the 4 goons in front of of Wayne that have been the problem…
Still we will not progress if we dont fix this top heavy club
SCOUSE OUT ! FAT MOXEY OUT !
as i said before ..my missus hates football but when shes watched a game on tv going back at least 10 yrs she has always said our defence is crap!! so,how crap must m.m. + colon be ? nuff said! i havent got any confidence for next season and think we will struggle ; especially if we end up having a clearout. we desperately need the right man to manage the club but with what happened after sacking mick i really think all the best managers will steer well clear..we as a club are in a really precarious position when we SHOULD have been pushing on……
Somewhere about 2/3rds into the season they were using the Chelsea back for as examples, that’s abut all they got right this season, and as I have said before on here Johnson is the worst money WWFC have ever spent. I’m 62 and could run ring round him all day and hardly break sweat, and then drink him right under and table he fancies.
De Vries looked pretty dodgy to me when he played in that cup game which i think was against Man City if memory serves. Let in 5 i think and they weren’t particularly trying. I prefer Ikeme.
He did brilliantly for Swansea in the Championship… Doesnt matter though, if the idiots in front of him dont make challenges and give the ball away in our box… I think Wayne has made the most saves than any other keepr in the Prem… says it all.
Scouse out !! Pie Eater Out !!
Yeh i think Ikeme is a better keeper than De Vries, and sometimes better than Hennessey,
at least he does command his area better than Hennessey me thinks.FOJM,FOTC.
Great blog Tettenhall, couldn’t agree more. This and many other things at the top have to be sorted before we have any hope of a progressive and successful team.
I think Morgan is only owner of Wolves because it helps his business clout in the area. He is into building and development and outside of Liverpool FC not a lot else. I would love him to prove me wrong and let the fans know he is onside and made some mistakes, but I feel he wants to pull out and the stadium uplift may be part of his plan to sell the club on to the biggest bidder. After all he is a development and making profit. If he was so interested about the teams demise he would have got rid of the problem at the center of wolves going backwards, and sacked his CEO Jez Moxey. But who really wears the trousers at the top level of Wolves?
great blog m.d.w. very worrying if you are right. this is why an appology would at least go some way to getting the fans back onside.the probable outcome though will be total silence from morgan , bull from miss moxey and more unrest.. a bit of a reality check needs to come from above but probably wont -which leaves me wondering the real reason for morgan wanting to own the club..surely ,if completely narked about being blanked by liverpool ,the obvious response would be to buy another club and make them really successful on the pitch to rub liverpools noses in it. no,instead we build an unecessary stand whilst not improving the squad…der ! makes you wonder doesnt it?
I really don’t think Morgan is as bad as that. I think he’s made some bad, scratch that, terrible decisions but that his heart is in the right place and he does want us to do well. don’t get me wrong, i’m absolutely livid about what they’ve done to us this season, getting beat 5-1 at home by the shit will come up every time i meet a new b****e guaranteed. We’ve put ourselves back at least 2 or 3 years, and it was all so tragically avoidable. but deliberate? not for me.
here’s what I think needs to be done:
an apology and admission of culpability for this season, plus an explanation to some of the decisions that’ve been made this season.
a token financial gesture towards the fans as mentioned above – 10% at the gift shop, a couple of free cup games whatever.
stop the ridiculous spin all the time – the fans aren’t that stupid and the stories are insulting
play the kids more – the fans love a local hero, mark davies would be a firm fan’s favourite had he stayed and that’s only gonna help prevent antipathy between pitch and terrace.
I think that as the season draws to an end and we learn who the new gaffer is, what his budget for players is like, the kind of player we’re in for and all that stuff starts getting sorted we’ll all feel a lot more positive about next season, and can all have a nice old happy clap together….
A few weeks ago I was positive about next year but the more I think about it the less confident I am. The Championship has improved over the last three years, genuinely have we especially when you consider who is likely to leave? And whilst I know that Bolton and Blackburn (if they come down with us) will lose key players are we better than them? – I think next year will be more difficult than lots of us originally thought.
get what you are saying and yes the fans will forget when the new season starts but the tripe we have been dealt on the pitch year after year with the same crap defensive issues are very hard to swallow .we are very stagnant on the pitch whilst everything off it ; training ground, youth academy etc are trying to show we are a quality outfit..which all points to those upstairs being inept. i totally agree with clive that all the fans want is great football…everything is in place so why is every season the same…..go out and get some great scouts, coaches and manager and maybe just maybe?
I wont forget, and I will make damn sure my voice is heard.
SCOUSE OUT !! PIE EATER OUT !!
ditto..ditto..ditto…look at readlng – a smaller less famous club with an ambitious manager who turned us down at the first opportunity…us a bigger more famous club with a huge history and fantastic fan base all over the country(absolutely no offence reading fans..were just jealous!!) and no chance of attracting the best young guvnor…….you just have to ask why-something is seriously wrong eh!?!
If they appoint the right manager, think that will help get everyone back onside. When you win games people start forgetting about a lot of the stuff described above.
Agree an apology would be nice, but would be surprised if it happened.
Don’t think Moxey is going anywhere to be honest; that would definitely get people onside if bob the builder had the balls to get rid of the fat weasel. We can dream.
Reasons why fans are feeling disenfranchised:
We are ‘numpties’.
We are ‘thick in the head’.
We ‘will not do an Albion’.
‘No job for a novice’.
‘We have acted decisively’.
We think that after 3 years in the Prem having 8/9 Championship Winning players playing week in/week out especially having being the 6th highest spenders over the 3 years is not progress.
We are fed up being told that we are the 6th highest spenders but we only see have 8/9 Championship winning players play week in/week out.
We know that our Championship winning defence was weak and we still have that defence.
Allowing for the above, we know that Stephen Ward isn’t a left back and Kevin Foley is a right back.
We didn’t want a new North Bank at the expense of team investment.
We didn’t want new houses in Compton.
We can’t reconcile the investment in the Academy when we struggle to bring young players forward.
Unlike Moxey and Morgan we didn’t gamble (and lose) that Swansea and Norwich would go straight back down (even though it looks certain we will finish bottom so it wont matter anyway).
I’m stopping now the last couple of minutes have depressed me!
UTW
In any business, no matter what, the product is what people ultimately buy.
You can fancy wrap a crap product, which will sell initially, but will be found wanting eventually.
The product us customers want is winning football.
We don’t care about the peripherals, just winning football.
If that happens week after week, on the pitch, the customers will flock back in their thousands. We are desperate for winning football, and the packaging is irrelevant.
Keep the fancy wrappings of a new stadium, we don’t need it.
Keep you pretty corporate boxes, we don’t need them.
Keep your upgraded training facilities, we don’t need them.
Keep you overpaid ceo, we don’t need it (!)
Give us a winning football team, and bollocks to the rest.
Most of what has gone on for the past three years will be forgiven (not forgotten) if we get a winning team.
And you can start by clearing out ALL the deadwood…..which is pretty much most of them!!
Its a football club whats your problem ?
yeah and a crap looking one wouldnt you say or you been in space for a few years…such loyal fans with probably the highest unemployment with overpaid players who shoulnt need motivating but who week in week out let those fans down…so no its more than a football club its woven into the fans lives..
I only hope morgan has seen sense and f##k that fat bastard moxey off at the end of the season with his lap dog TC.Surely morgan can’t be happy with the debacle of which that fat bastard has played a major part, like i have said previously he would’nt have him running one of his building sites for a week without giving him the sack for gross inability just like he’s done at the mol.FOJM,FOTC.
Like i have said why can’t we all sign a petition on line and send it to MR MORGAN Directly.
so can thomas or ben do that for us.
Absolutely… lets get it going – I noticed someone copy and pasted Bens post from here onto a Facebook thread last night – and was “liked” a lot… lets start a petition…
At the very least, the numbers (and there will be many) will show the club the disquiet amongst us fans, Doesnt even have to call for the Fat Fuck to be fired, just something long the lines:
We the undersigned demand an explanation for the Clubs decision to fire the manager of the club at an entirely inappropriate time without having any contingency plan and we demand a full apology for the shambles that has ensued.
Ad Mant…
Thanks Ad Mant, but still wandering why Thomas or Ben are reluctant to start a petition going.FOJM,FOTC.
albion fans in disguise …just like old gold..it goes with their nail varnish(only joking!!) maybe they feel its a huge step ..a bit too far? dunno…..
Great blog TW. Reading just promoted after beating Forest 1-0 but according to Robbie Savage “Guediora has been absolutely magnificent 2nt – the best player on the pitch”. Will we see him back with us next season or is it a done deal he’s staying at Forest?
If he has a modicum of intelligence, he will stay there and give us two magnificent fingers in the air as Forest trounce us twice next season, as we drift slowly into third division obscurity…………..
If he’s under contract he HAS to come back, but knowing us we’ll sell him for a pittance. Perhaps he’s too good to have the vaunted ‘Wolves DNA.’
Just finished listening to Reading against Notts Forest on Radio 5 Live and Robbie Savage, for the umpteenth time singing the praises of Guadiora – “top, top player”.
A top, top player who I doubt will pull on a Wolves shirt again. The silence around Molineux about this is deafening. Just come out and tell us he’s coming home at the end of the season Jez. If he is sold in the summer I think i’ll kill myself.
Please kill Baldrick first though Ben.
Watcha Scooped. Don`t forget the chap who was funding Forest out of his personal wealth tragically died a few months ago, and the club is up for sale. They have no money for buying anyone, certainly until their championship status is secured they have no way forward.
I don`t see Morgan being an apologist, but allegedly a ruthless businessman who must be really pissed off that under Moxey`s & MM`s tenure the last 2-3 years have seen a masssive waste of some of his wealth, and when the relegation is confirmed, a massive blow to his ego and status.
With the 3 years in the prem and the money spent we should be an established premiership side. At £30m purchase price, and the money spent since, WWFC are an expensive toy (not as expensive as Liverpool would have been) for Morgan in the Championship, can`t believe he will let matters lie and I expect intersting developments after season closes.
i really hope it bleeding does hurt him and the people to blame get a size nine up there backside/s..its about time he got passionate AGAIN and did the right thing!!!!!!!1
The purchase price was actually £10 wasn’t it Mark. Has he put £30m in out of his own pocket or has he just been using the Sky millions? Does anybody know?
The £30m is not cash – its in share rights. Not sure whether the shares are in Redrow or the offshore holding company that Morgan owns. Not sure whether the deal required a rights issue, what price applied, what time constraints or any other conditions.
Oh what a tangled web we weave….
With you on Forest finances mate but prob a brown envelope and a bag of doughnuts has already secured Adlenes services!
I read last week that Gedioura wanted to play for Forest next season… he too no stranger to the bullshit in the Wolves dressing room
Those greedy pair just want more money. They don’t care who they sell to get it. The only development next season is TC will have his contract extended and the greedy pair will split the parachute money between them to buy up more land.
‘The Snake Oil Kid’ and his confounded DNA have pretty much finished us off. We haven’t been Tangoed but we’ve certainly been Moxey-oed.
So far the players already leaving according to various press reports.
Hennessy
Henry
Ohara
Jarvis
Fletcher
Doyle
At 4 million each that’s 24Million… Plus parachute payment and Poxeys bonus already looks safe for next season..
Why is nobody coming in for Johnson?????
Have to say though I doubt Ohara would go to b*****s after all season their fans have been telling him he is married to a whore. Mind you if he goes I probably shag her myself….
Having said that they were on twitter the other night out on the town with Shane long and his missus so you never know in this game..
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
Mind you if he goes I probably shag her myself…..
I know she’s desperate coz look who she married, but THAT desperate to let you bonk her??????????????
Why do you think I don’t post my Picture on here Clive…
Don’t think she be waiting in the queue put it that way…
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
HEAR HEAR !
SCOUSE OUT !! PIE EATER OUT !!
WHERES THAT PETITION ?? !!
Fletcher – £4 million ? It has to be £10 million + doesn’t it ? Jarvis too should be around £6 million.
We are going down.. Poxey will determine how much we take. I don’t think with his history we will get as much as the players are worth.
He will put it down to Have to sell for Cost cutting measures…
While at the same time build the biggest club shop in the Chumpionship to screw us for more money.
While all this protects his profit margin and his Bonus… Cancer in the club.
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
Why is nobody coming in for Johnson?????
That’s because he is CCCCRRRRAAAAPPPPP
My Johnson comment was meant as tongue in cheek…
We will do well to get rid of him.
Morgan OUT!!! Moxey OUT!!! TC OUT!!! Johnson OUT!!!
Plus £2.84 for Adlene, £0.64p for Hammil and a slab of lorn sausage for Griffiths =
£24,000,003.48 (and some sausage)
PS
In no way do i think thats what they are worth – but thats all their current clubs will be able to afford… Personally I think those 3 would terrorise the Chumps – and do us some seriously good service for very little money
FUCK OFF SCOUSE IDIOT !! FUCK OFF FAT MOXEY !!
Say your sorry slash the ticket prices and spend £50 million on more big time Charlies – simples.
Even Fletcher Mccarthy’s best big buy is an old fashioned forward who needs service into the box.
Makes you realise why Curbs turned us down – he probably wanted Moxey and Morgan to stay the fuck out of football matters, and the fat cunts wouldnt agree….
WHERE’s THAT PETITION !! ??
If Moxeys house keeping is as good as he claims and the club is on a sound financial footing then there will be no reason to have a fire sale. The new manager can get rid of those he wants to get rid of and keep those he wants to keep. He may even have a few bob to spend. Can’t see any reason why we shouldn’t have a squad capable of bouncing straight back up.
That makes perfect sense………………..and here are two reasons why it won’t happen.
1. Perfect sense and greasel in the same sentence is an oxymoron, like army intelligence or Scottish goalkeepers.
2. If greasel stays and keeps Connor, or appoints a new manager, then all the old crap players will be retained, out of cheapness. The old crap players are those who struggled in the Championship 3 years ago, and who will struggle even more next year.
If that happens the only way we’ll bounce is out the bottom end.
I will go one step further and point out that apart from 3 or 4 players, we STILL only play our Championship side from 3 years ago…
I’ll remain optimistic for the time being.
It would be staggering if M and M have learned nothing from the shambles that followed the MMc sacking, the rebuttals from the managers they approached to take over and the eventual appointment of TC.
They can’t make the same mistakes again . . . . . . . . . . . can they???????
My resounding answer to your question even 6 months ago would have been ‘NO!’ Even as their popularity dwindled over the last couple of seasons, I would have maintained that Moxey et al were nothing if not prudent. However, the utter debacle that the greasy prick has presided over in recent months has stripped away any faith I might have had that he would place the good of the club above his own arrogance and failure to own up to any responsibility for this one giant balls up. Therefore, I wouldn’t be surprised a month down the line to be faced with yet more painful insistence that they did the right thing, the grossly incompetent TC to be given a 2+ year contract as manager, us preparing for the championship with much the same team we had in it last time, minus the couple of premiership standard players that we have, probably Jarvis and Fletcher. And by the way we can forget getting £6m+ for each of them, it’s not championship manager, just ask blues last season!
They must know they have become a laughing stock following their appointment of “non novice” TC.
I can’t seriously imagine they will extend his contract past the end of the season when his position has already become just about untenable.
A new manager needs to be installed as soon as possible so he has the opportunity to assess individuals on the staff before next season. Pre season is not the time to do this – He needs to see them in a competitive situation. He also needs the time to be able to bring in new players and integrate them with the remnants of the existing squad. I just hope M&M are working on appointing a new manager now.
yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes !!
but no manager? can it happen? the answers out there!!!!! alienated? yeah by an ugly alien blob poxey moxey from the planet fat bastard!!!
Just heard on the radio that Wolves have recalled Ikeme from his loan deal at Doncaster as we have lost Hennessy. I found myself thinking oh well done, that’s good. That’s sensible thinking.
Bloody hell, that’s how bad it’s got! Such a basic obvious, what else could you do decision and i’m impressed! And it must be because i can’t remember the last time they made a decision that didn’t seem completely bloody stupid. No wonder we’re bottom of the league.
Haven’t you heard, though? They’re going to play him on the right side of midfield …
Nice one KW, that made me laugh. But hang on, you might not be joking!
My main concern is that Greaseball will tie up deals for our best but under performing players
BEFORE any appointment is made.
FOGRESABALL,MORONAND FRIGHTENED RABBIT
The results secured by TC during his tenure as manager, are just about good enough for him to drive the team bus to midweek away games next year.
If Moxey is still there in the close season and appoints TC as manager, I shan`t be going anywhere near Molineux next season, and I suspect most other fans won`t either. Aready a laughing stock, the club would be seen as run by complete bafoons, if thats not the case alraedy.
MM was sacked, now some of his favourite players and clueless signings, never fit for the premiership, and should have no future at the club should also be dumped.
Lets start with S. Ward, then S Hunt, then that Icelandic midfield player Johnson, his namesake and centre half R. Johnson, who the hell would want him though, and i`d dump O`Hara also, over rated, over paid and injury prone. Any other nominations anybody.
Yes Mark I would agree with your list and add Stearman.
Spurs sold us O’Hara and for the same money got Parker, who is hardly ever injured. Arry must have been loffing his socks off. JOHN will be the first one out.
Unfortunately when you add the others who may leave we will be down to about the same number
of players as when Hoddle left.

Well to be fair I would never have bought Stearman to the club and nor would I have let berra near a premier league game let alone Jonsson. I think as much as they have let us down this year we still need to retain Ward and Hunt for the Championship as they are very good championship players. But thats it. Same with Ohara, Kightly, Foley Henry, Devries all very good championship players we need to keep. Apart from Fletcher,Jarvis, Doyle, Bassong, and Hennessey; and the ones listed above for next seasons summit attempt – the rest of this seasons failures should fit nicely into Lincoln City FC.
Somebody has put a bid in for Johnson. The bidding war is on between Thresher Wines and Bargain Booze to secure his services as their best customer.
add everyone to that list sell all of them and put the kids out there and just see how much better our defence has become overnight . last time there were loads of youth played the atmosphere improved no end…they would be able to show this lot how to perform and at least they would be grateful to be in the team . then get great scouts a real coach and a young hungry manager..this current lot are so stagnant they have become pond life terrified to make a mistake and unable to defend .its so utterly depressing i think its the only way forward….start bringing the youth through instead of buying overpaid injury prone wanna be`s. action has got to be taken now not wait till the end of the season..c-mon you lot in charge…..grow some and prove you really want us to be a great club again!!!
Agree 100%
The present squad have totally underperformed, and in the real world would have been sacked months ago.
Talk about job description!
Profession: Footballer.
Bollocks, nothing like one. Next!!!
None of them deserve to be kept, except Hammill and Adelene. The rest can sign on the dole.
They don’t care about The Wolves, why the fuck should we care about them.
And someone please put “deer in the headlights” out of his fuckin’ misery!!
Has the cricket scoreboard arrived for Sunday yet??!!
clive you old bastard will anyone on the board listen to us…….no and will anything change…id like to think maybe…but probably no..i know we all think we have the answers and there are quite a few conflicting ideas out there but i bet they are a damn sight better ones than what ive seen these past few years on the pitch…unless we blood the kids we will never know and ill bet most of them are local lads who would really wear the old gold with pride and i bet they if given the chance would give everything!! but probably will be more of the same and we will be saying the same things over and over and over again….no no one will listen as usual..
Please, less of the old……………
sorry…clive you bastard… thats probably not true mate but hey ho ..lets push for a petition!!!
It would be great if we had any player with the integrity and loyalty of steve Bull a real wolves man with a real infinity to the fans, because all they think about is their selves they don’t give a shite about the club or the fans.
So for me i would also go with the kids for the remainder of our season and give the fans something to cheer about after this most horrid time i have ever witnessed for a very very long time.FOJM,FOTC….COME ON BEN OR THOMAS,IS THERE ANY REASON WHY YOU CAN’T START A PETITION.
now theres a name….bully! a wolverhampton boy!! bring the kids on ..never know; maybe another bully in the making ..playing for the city!
we want a petition we want a petition!!!!!! come on ben dont be a girly! if you cant do it well kidnap your bunny and then you annd we will spraytan your arse blue and make you sing i love baggies in the south bank!!!!! do it !!you know it makes sense………..
Any player who is under contract for next season and beyond must be made to stay for the duration. It doesn’t matter who they are and how good they think they are by dropping into the CH their value has diminished considerably and it’s not as though they’re too costly to keep on their current wages, is it ???
There should not be a fire sale of the club’s so called major assets, since in the whole scale of things the money raised would really be negligible. There should be a major re-focus towards returning to the PL at the earliest opportunity, 2013-2014 with the majority if not all current players plus returnees plus young un’s plus 2 or 3 old heads like Hughes, Ince and Irwin.
The thought of Coventry, Derby ( No offence intended ) et al next season is like a nightmare. Best of luck to Reading, Southampton. How excited must their fans be ???? Do you remember that feeling ???
As ever keep the faith and believe that one day soon we will return….UTW..!!!!!
We need that petition-They need to know they are accountable to us.
where do I sign ? This has to stop !!!!
Unfortunately for us, the players that we would like to be rid of and seem to think are worth decent money a. Are not worth anything like what we think they are and b. Are on big fuck off contracts that no other clubs would take on based on their performances this season. E.g. O, Hara, Johnson, Hunt, Doyle. All on £30k+ per week, no way other clubs will be paying us £3m+ and shelling out those sort of wages. I’m afraid we’ll be stuck with them. The players we’ll be saying goodbye to will be the Milijas’s, Guiadiora’s and Hammill’s of this world. As well as a couple of star names that we wouldn’t want to lose, probably Fletcher and Jarvis. I don’t think we’ll get any more than £4m for either of those either.
Just saw this example of Brian McDermott’s management at Reading.
“It clearly wasn’t right at the back in the first dozen games and the manager went and signed Gorkss, who is a hugely experienced Latvian international.
Brian could have just let it go but he didn’t. He recognised a problem, addressed the situation and signed a big-name player which eventually reaped big rewards.”
For me this is the sort of incisive, intelligent and professional management which was woefully lacking under the McCarthy regime. I wonder, for example, how long he woulld have let Ward fumble along at left back or how long he would have had a team full of championship players?
The other way of looking at it is that Gorkss is just the sort of bloke that McCarthy did sign. Mouyokolo, Zubar and Van Damme been prime examples of blokes brought in to fill defensive positions then immediately being deemed not good enough and not trusted to play by the very bloke that brought them! They were then left to sit in the reserves for months on end and lose any form or match fitness or played out of position, giving them no chance when they did get a chance, hence everyone thinking they were crap (with the exception of Zubar)! Going back a year or two previous and down a level, he did exactly the same with Shackell and Darren Ward. These blokes didn’t come cheap in relation to the level we were playing at at the time. You look at what other teams around us now have brought in for much less than what we’ve spent over the last couple of years and our investments have been piss poor in general. That said, the fat greaseball also has to take a shed load of blame for failing to invest properly in January when a blind man could see that the writing was on the wall unless we did so. And as for the post MM debacle, I can’t even be arsed going there again….!
I agree but anyway you look at it, he didn’t solve the problems or improve the team.
They could have been bad buys or played out of position or asked to play in an outdated and ineffective system. Possibly all three.
I find it intersting also, that Guedioura is praising Cotterill to the hilt for explaining how he wanted him to play and giving him confidence. As if it had never happened before.
Guediora imo, is a prime example of a very talented player who lost his way completely under McCarthy and will no doubt do well under a good manager in the future.Hopefully with us!
Couldnt agree more – Mick has his good points, but wasnt always the best man manager… Hammil is another fin example of “one that (is soon to) get away”
SCOUSE IDIOT OUT !! FAT **** OUT !!
WHERES THAT BLOODY PETITION !!!
Boo our club is shit, then?
