The signing of Jed Wallace has been greeted with an understated air of optimism, I think it’s fair to say.
The timing of the acquisition, and the obligatory YouTube compilation video, seems to augur well for the future.
But at Wolves Blog, we weren’t satisfied with a three minute montage and a stock quote from the official website, so we contacted our good twitter friend Susan Maskell, a lifelong Portsmouth fan, for the lowdown on Jed.
Susan has been a regular blogger about the goings-on at Fratton Park and is well worth a follow on twitter @sjmaskell.
We wish her, and Portsmouth, all the very best next season and beyond. A club I have long admired, despite their recent turmoil.
Thank you Susan!
Jed Wallace
Jed Wallace is not the finished article. But you wouldn’t expect that for £275k. but he could be a potential match winner in the right hands.
An attack minded player, nominally a midfielder, there are many who think Jed has still not quite found his natural position. He seems prepared to play wide, through the centre or take on a roving brief on demand. He has some speed, is prepared to run at the opposition, although perhaps prone to holding the ball too long on a number of occasions.
He has been accused of trying to win matches on his own. But he will try, try and try again. He does not shirk in tackling back either. He still lacks the experience to see and decide between options when on the ball, but with Pompey over the last three years there haven’t often been many options available.
Pompey’s player of the season, a product of the Academy, Jed has been blooded over three seasons of excruciatingly poor on-the-pitch performances, and off-pitch dramas, culminating in Pompey’s lowest ever finishing position of 16th in L2. He has been a shining light in the darkness throughout.
It could be said that it was his goals, 24 from 88 appearances, that have kept us in League 2 over the last two seasons. Some feat from midfield. Only a terminal numbskull like Richie Barker, who dropped him during his brief tenure as manager, can fail to see the potential of the player.
‘Super Jed’ has been Fratton approved, unlike many over the last three seasons. So much so that most Pompey fans wish him well in the future and think he has chosen the right club in Wolves. The fact that he shone at Pompey through our darkest days may be down to the lack of quality around him during those three seasons. A squad that was constantly being demolished and rebuilt is not a good place to learn the finer skills required higher up the leagues.
So most fans here understand that to develop, Jed has to go and learn among players who are experienced at a higher level. He may not shine for a while, but proper coaching and Wolves could have a valuable asset there. We hope so, anyway, if the rumoured sell-on clauses are to be realised.
To cap it all, Jed is a thoroughly nice person and has been a popular club ambassador at social and charity events. We are sorry to see him go and wish him well. Wolves have acquired a proper professional in Jed Wallace.
There was some crap goalkeeping and crapper defending in front of him, but, as we said to our critics last year when we stormed the Third Division,
“You can only beat what is served up in front of you”
So, Kudos to the lad, if yow dough shoot, yow ay gunna score, am ya?
If KJ thinks he is ok, then he is ok by me.
And bollocks to the a…..
Clive, I think you have been in the US of A too long your spelling has gone to pot, LOL
dough surely it’s dow, gunna is surely guunnaa, not really sure about that. I’m on holiday ATM and on Thursday a woman in a bar (surprise surprise) said to her husband “Goo on ask im wiere e cums from” So I told him and she said “Toad ya e wore far from us” LOL
Totally off field this but the reported wages for Sako will be about 50K/week if he goes to Leicester,Villa etc. These clubs are no greater than us just that they are in the Prem (at the moment) could we not offer him £60K/week to stay on a one year contract ? costs us £3m but we get a striker without having to buy one and would almost guarantee promotion ?
Please Morgan and Co look at this and at least give Sako the option (Great News Dicko signed and he is his mate). What do you guys think ?
Nicely written and also nice about the wolves .
I like Susan
And now we’re linked with Mulumbu. We’re facing tough competition from Celtic which can offer CL-football. Mulumbu would strengthen our first team line-up, Wallace is perhaps more of a squad strengthener. It’s difficult to say how he’ll cope with championship and how he will fit into our style of play. The boy has a great potential and I really hope he’ll become a hit at Molineux.
Thank’s Susan, a fan from another club sharing a passion in an unbiased manner is always welcome. A good write up and makes me feel that we have stolen a good player from Pompey (£275 K) crazy money if he’s half the player the papers, Youtube and you Pompey fans say he is.
When we went for him so quickly I thought this guy is special, Kenny has chased him for ages, he wanted to sign and was something of a star at Pompey, just the sort we have been gleaning for the last two seasons so I am optomistic about him and look forward to seeing him at Burton Albion in the pre-season freindlies.
🙂
Looking on a Pompey forum after we signed Jed, I found around 95% of posts were praising the lad to the rafters and saying he had a Premier league future. The small number of dissenters were severely marked down in the like/dislike stakes. Pluses were a tireless workrate, a never say die attitude and an eye for the goal. The only minus was a tendency to take on too much at the expense of the team. His fans put this down to his youth and inexperience and the fact he had no teammates reliable enough to give the ball to. His detractors said he was greedy and has a poor team ethic.
As Pompey fans and our scouting team know far more about young Jed than I do, I shall bow to their superior knowledge and welcome our new signing with open arms. We ain’t had too many disastrous forays into the transfer market since KJ’s arrival, so I’m confident our new arrival will slip comfortably into our squad.
Great potential and in Kenny’s hands he could go far. It’ll be interesting to see how he goes but hope the 2M’s don’t think he’s the final piece of the jigsaw (whatever happened to the last one?). Sounds like he’s got a great attitude so should fit in.
I would like to see a new centre half (experienced), a new defensive midfielder and 2 forwards, one proven and one up and coming youngster from lower league who’s just had a good season or a premier league who needs experience.
Happy shopping Kenny. Make sure we don’t miss out on our targets with the usual excuses.
As a fairly frequent visitor to Pompey in search of a football fix I can assure you that he definitely has the the right attributes and desire to make us a better team. Whether he makes it or not will be down to our coaching team because you can see the desire seeping out of him both on and off the ball. A good acquisition for us and a good step forward for him.
Thank you for the great idea of getting the Portsmouth Blogger to give us her views…..If Kenny thinks he has potential that’s fine by me and we welcome him and wish him all the best ….He’s come to the right place to improve! Wolves Aye We!
Now that I’ve bought four more years as god of football, I want a new right hand flunky who will succeed me in 2019.
It has come to my attention that there is a perfect puppet currently “employed” by Wolverhampton Wanderers, by the name of “Moxey”.
It appears that this “Moxey” person has all the attributes I need as my flak deflector, and to be the fall guy when my bribes become common knowledge.
A greasy hairstyle
A stupid name
Years of practice in skullduggery, underhand, nefarious money laundering dealings
Massive spinability
Did I mention stupid name?
And above all, a thick skin, with absolutely no footballing knowledge whatsoever.
I will secrete a gazzilion pounds into your offshore accounts, Mr. Morgan, if I can prise his sycophantic tongue away from your ears, and have him promoted to worldwide ridicule, not just Wolves fan’s derision.
Praise be to god, allah and the fifa boat???
Dear Mr Splatter,
If you can make that a gazillion and a half you’ve got a deal. Not a bribe obviously but a loan that will get written off if we don’t pay it back. Mind you we also want the next World Cup in our country, called the Black Country. What, you haven’t heard of it? Much smaller countries than ours are members of FIFA you know and have been visited by your good self bearing suitcases of dollars. We have a higher population than Qatar, so fair’s fair.
I must say that we have early genuine action, midfield and upfront which now also includes Mulumbo..
Perhaps it’s us putting the pressure on..lol
Jed Wallace does look good and fits into the new Wolves player mould of an aspiring player in his early 20s..
Ambitious and cocky.. a bit selfish ..both feet.. hungry for a goal..we can’t knock this one..he could be brilliant..
To fit in he might have to play in a different role though..
Dirt cheap (again) can’t wait to see him play..
I’m still waiting for a major defensive aqusition..if we do the same here then the close season will almost be beyond criticism..
Of course Sako could have a severe pang of guilt.. overrule his agent and stay…
Utopia.
Mulumbu could be incoming, after all it was Stephen George Bull MBE who suggested the Club buy him.
Who?
He will never be a goal scorer!!
Said at the time of signing I had high hopes Jed Wallace would prove a star buy and this seems to confirmed by Portsmouth blogger Susan. Her well written piece speakswell of his potential and attitude both on and off the field but also of his over elaboration. But sometimes a little bit of selfishness is needed when trying to break down obdurate defenses and/or score goals. Thank you Susan for your succinct but thorough piece of “scouting”.
Like others I would like to see the signing of a defender and a defensive midfielder. For the midfielder I did previously post that Joey Barton would be a good fit though as a player rather than for his character, though I have read that he has worked at being a better human being. (Thank you Clive for your to the point reply. Methinks you may have lived too long in the death penalty capital of the USA – Texas.)
Good luck to Kenny with getting a together the right squad for the promotion push. UTW
Cheers Susan, for the insight.
He sounds like a good fit for the Molineux men.
If there is potential in the lad, and it certainly looks like there is, I think we can rely on Kenny to realise it.
Most boxes have been ticked and, I know it may seem a minor point, the last one she makes means a lot to me:-
“To cap it all, Jed is a thoroughly nice person and has been a popular club ambassador at social and charity events. We are sorry to see him go and wish him well. Wolves have acquired a proper professional in Jed Wallace.”
That’ll do nicely for starters.
Welcome to Wolves Jed. We still need strengthening though if my wager on us at 12-1 to win the Championship title is to bear fruit. One, or preferably two, strikers as competition and cover for Afobe and Dicko, a big and powerful defensive midfielder (Jedinak from Palace?) a pacey centre back – oh and a left winger if (a) Boukari doesn’t come through, (b) if we can find one and (c) if Sako really does find someone to pay him £80m a week or whatever it is his agent says he’s worth.
For Sale.
Joey Barton,
Loyal, passionate, gives 100% every game, good stopper, good midfielder, good for another couple of seasons until he gets a team into the Championship.
Any takers????
No, no, no, no, NOOOOOOOOOO! Please, no!
He’s not for sale, he has been released…………must be getting used to that, jailbird that he is!!!
No way, Jose, do we want this thug in our midst.
Joey Barton?!?!?! Only in a midfield trio of him Peter Sutcliffe and Dr Crippen. Have never in my life booed anyone who pulls on the Wolves shirt but for Barton I might have to break the habit of a lifetime.
So no welcome for Joey at the Molly next season. Sort of thought that would be the reaction but if not Barton someone with his footballing abilities, experience and above all attitude (on the pitch).
Quite surprised that we would welcome Sagbo, Danny Graham and Leon Lazy town but not give Joey a shot.
The three above combined wouldn’t amount to a fraction of his work rate, commitment and determination.
I always look for the best in people, even an axe murderer has a mother that loves him.
I supose it’s not worth mentioning Adam Johnson then????????
Stearman to Fulham? Hmmmmmmm, interesting gossip.
Ruth from Hot Gossip, now there’s a story. Mmmmmmmmmm indeed
Got a provisional route for the bike ride mate, will get it to you as soon as we tweak it up a bit more.
🙂
Does it include short cuts via rail stations?
Someone in the Joey Barton mould but who is not as mouldy as Barton would be Mile Jedinak from Palace. Rumour is they might release him, he’s 30, experienced, hard as nails, Australian international, good leadership skills for club and country and he takes penalties. P.S. I am not his agent!
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear Kenny
Happy Birthday tooooooooooooo you!
Derike Osede – 22 year old CB from Real Madrid (B)
Nadir Ciftci – 23 year old STR from Dundee Utd
Abdoul Camara – 25 year old WGR/STR from Angers SCO
Sammy Ameobi – 23 year STR from Newcastle Utd
Josh Ginelly – 19 year old WGR/STR from Shrewsbury Town
Youssouf Mulumbu – 28 year old MID from West Brom
Dwight Gale – 24 year old STR from Crystal Palace
The above have been mentioned over the last few weeks. How many will come to us, if any?
All good, solid Black Country names!!
It was a bit of a blow to read that Stuart Webber is leaving us for Huddersfield.
The man who was heavily involved in the signing of Benik Abobe, Nouha Dicko, Kevin McDonald and James Henry will not be easy to replace.
Last time I saw Webber was last summer in my back garden.
Did he come infrom mid-field looking for some young runners, he’d probably heard how solid your back was.
Did he take a look at the front too (two)
An article in The Times this morning by Rory Smith: he sees the arrival of Clement at Derby and Dijkhuizen at Watford as pointing to a change in outlook in The Championship. The division would no longer be, he says, “a dinosaur’s playground” naming Neil Warnock and Mick McCarthy as examples of pre-historic monsters.
He names Karanka of Middlesbrough as an example of the new breed together with Eddie Howe and Alex Neil. For me, though not named, perhaps because he’s been around longer KJ fits the bill for a new breed of Championship managers for whom how to (quoting Rory Smith) “to win away at Huddersfield” is no longer good enough.
Speaking of Kenny I see Stearman names him as the best manager he’s worked with – is this a farewell message? If so we need to crack on with finding good defenders, unfortunately without the benefit of Stuart Webber (I wish him all the best) who will be sorely missed. Ironic given The Times article he’s gone to Hudderfield. UTW
Can’t see Richard going anywhere.
I see we’re being strongly linked once more with young Legia Warsaw winger Michal Zyro.(great name). Less physically imposing than Bakary but has pace, trickery and can both pass and shoot with great accuracy. How do I know this? The armchair scout’s most vital tool..You Tube.
In fact, he seems to score every time he gets the ball, from what I’ve seen. Sign ‘im up!
Could it be Kenny’s still in there after his man?
http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015/06/02/wolves-line-up-new-move-for-legia-warsaws-michal-zyro/?
Modern manager indeed, so in tune with the fans at Molineux, just look what he’s trying to do in repairing the gap in the song due to Sako’s possible departure.
Oh ho ho their magic, we know
Dicko Afobe Zyro
🙂
Feckin spell check,
Oh ho ho they’re magic, you know
Dicko Afobe Zyro
🙁
I would be upset to see Stearman go.
He has his brain farts, but player’s player of the year, fan’s player of the year, and Houston Wolves Supporter’s club player of the year must mean something.
At least keep him three more years so he gets a testimonial, something which is becoming a rarity these days!
I would rather he stay, than bring in some ex prem has been, looking for a last big paycheck, or “someone for the future”
Stearman was once a someone for the future, and his future is now, so we need to keep his experience with us, and not let another club benefit. We’ve done that too much in the past.
And Fulham, for fuck’s sake???
Seems we can add Yaser Kasimto , currently of Swindon, to Brompton’s list of those identified by Wolves as of great interest. Has a big reputation but his stats don’t impress in terms of goals and assists – maybe he will be deeper lying, should we actually make the signing, while Jed Wallace supplies from a forward role.
Regarding Stearman, isn’t he entering the last year of his contract and therefore to the two Ms best sold for what they can get.
That should read Yaser Kasim of course. Started adding tos then repeating them. Must be my age – ho hum.
Nowt wrong with added to’s.
Brompto
Vimto
Kasimto
Sounds good to me.
Oh, oh oh they’re magic, you know
Dicko, Afobe, Kasimto
And don’t forget Cliveo
So Sepp Blatter is to go.
Stearman to stay, yes please I’m with the Houston Supporters club on that one.
Danny Batth to go for me, keep Stears, Danny is the weak link.
Keep Stearman. Keep Batth. Sign Zyro. Replace Moxey with Blatter. OK I may have gone too far with that last one but wouldn’t you love to see the Black Country 2026 World Cup?
i don’t agree Bedford… Morgan would never consider him as he would not put up the funds for the (alleged) bungs!
I was working on the premise that Septic would bankroll the whole shebang from his various offshore bank accounts (allegedly). I hear that those bastions of football tradition and general upstandingness (OK I made that word up) the Cayman Islands, Mongolia and D.R.Congo are all in favour and that they feel a Black Country World Cup would be just what is needed. Mind you they also want the number of countries participating in the finals to be increased to 146 and as a result the tournament would have to run from early March right through to late October. Apparently all Wolverhampton hotels have already been put on red alert.
……… and Morgan is laughing as he is building new hotels and running around shouting “ching ching”
So there is a God after all!
Clive, make sure that your FBI chums hit him with everything they’ve got.
And Stearman should be made an offer he can’t refuse.
yeah, like “get your ‘aircut soldier or I will cut if for you”
Sorry the old Sergeant Major coming out again!!!!
Now that Septic Butter has decided to, eventually, slink away to some offshore island couldn’t we put Moxey up for the next President. As Clive, in his usual subtle style has pointed out, he has all the attributes needed, at least if you go by previous incumbents
Looks like DB could survive the carve up in the close season..Steers being mentioned with Fulham..
At least this will mean that we could buy a real quality Centre Half..and if that is the case with Iorfa,Hause,DB with a kick up his arse to play alongside a new guy (new captain?) then we have a real chance to do the league..
We all know we are going to score goals but I must say that it looks like the defence is impressively being shuffled too…and that to me is the insurance we need.
Be careful what you wish for, Steve.
We signed Roger Johnson, made him captain, and look how that turned out.
And before anyone reminds me, I was gungo ho for Johnson at the time, along with most others.
Once bitten and all that stuff………
A quote from new signing Jed Wallace in the E&S a couple of days ago:
“Wolves blew me away with their ambition. It was unbelievable. They’re going for the Premier League. They’re gunning for it.”
I wonder whether that quote will be resurrected by some cynical (or do I mean realistic?) blogger before the start of the season.
I think we definitely are gunning for it. Trouble is, so will all the other clubs be, so it will come down to who’s got the biggest gun. And can shoot it most effectively.
Sorry to be an old cynic but if that is what it comes down to we have no chance.
I hear you Clive …but it’s a successful formula to clean sheet at the back therefor win easier with 1 goal or 2..
When there is £120M at stake the strategy in our case must be this..
We are almost there with our two fullbacks and even DB when he’s playing well but it was obvious to me that we needed in some games to score at least 2 to get a result as we were so dodgy in defence..
When Dicko was on song the best form of defence was to attack and then we all know what happend in November when he was injured..
Steers played his heart out but it was still like the Alamo at times and conclusively we didn’t go up because
we let in too many goals and f*ckd our goal diff..
We need a new leader…Danny Batth is too young and had far too much responsibility too soon ..
We need a Rio Ferdinand type to make sure of the season..If we made a mistake like Johnson then let’s not make it again…
We can’t go into the new season without making sure..
Cheque book out…
We have a cheque book?
I think the cheque book (or check book for Clive) – I could be a translator and never knew I had the knowledge and skill…
Anyway back to… Yes we have a cheque book and its likely to have fallen down the back of the drawer….. again.
With quite a few of us talking about bolstering our team in various areas, it may be woorth noting that the following clubs have players that they will probably release in the Summer, to name just a few:
Hull: Yannick Sagbo
Ipswich: Stephen Hunt
Derby: Lee Naylor
Charlton: Roger Johnson
Forest: Greg Halford
Bolton: Keith Andrews
Milwall: Stefan Mairhofer
Just saying like!!!
I can see any of those in a gold shirt. 😉
Nooooooooooo. Been there, done that. We have moved on with a much better talented, ambitious and proficiently balanced side that is capable of further progression.
What I mean is, if I eat cheese before bedtime, my mind recalls terrible nightmares from the past.
As far as Wolves are concerned, every season it’s the same, old same old.
“A Cheque book.”
That’s just paper talk.
Should have had all our main dealings done by now, will they never learn. Get in there, get the players, get training.
🙁
Don’t ya think it’s a bit soon for such scepticism.
I live in StuWolf land, always the Optimist.
Would be nice to see a definite “statement of intent” after all we are the fare paying public, we deserve some kind of consideration for our efforts.
We have done all own main dealings.
Does this explain our Jez.
“Wolves Drip feeding players through”
Guðmundsson
Afobe
Dicko
Theyr’e magic we know
If Dicko could shoot
With a size 20 boot,
And Ikeme could grow a third hand,
We’d beat all the rest,
Be crowned as the best,
And we’d be THE team who are grand!
(Apologies, no idea where that came from!)
Dicko can shoot
Without a size 20 boot
And Ikeme doesn’t need a third hand
We can beat the rest
And will be crowned the best
As we are the finest team in the land.
You’re ‘avin’ a laugh
You’re ‘avin’ a laugh
£1.5mil for Stearman
You’re ‘avin’ a laugh!
That doesn’t rhyme.
I am going down to Aldershot on Friday 10th July for a couple of days. How far are you from there?
Well, if we’re all doing this poem/limerick stuff………
manure is red,
shit is blue,
fuck off west brom
is my normal farewell to you!!!
Just checked – too far to visit you I’m afraid. I am also going to Southampton on 19th September and that is too far too lol. At least I thought about it.
Clive, and all you other overseas fans, something you may be interested in, if you have not already seen it:
http://www.wolves.co.uk/news/article/live-overseas-stand-up-and-be-counted-2483448.aspx
I’ve now entered 755 times, think I gotta chance of winning?
No chance the fat controller will make sure of that.
I love Moxey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ben Pringle turned down a new contract and wants to move on…
Would not be surprised if we pick him up as he’s a winger, only 26 (right age) and more importantly for Moxey… Free!
As back up he’d be alright but I’d still like an impact player.
He was good… But maybe not that good eh?
Thats what happens when people start dropping their (h’s) all over the place:-
It should have read:-
“5 whingers to replace Bakery Sako at Wolverhampton Wanderers”
Stearman didn’t have a watering can Dicko went to b and q for a new hoe Courtney hause bought a new house Afobe luckily avoided a bee Danny baath had a very nice bath Ikeme’s pet cat got stuck up a tree James henry wasn’t any good at ski (ing) kev macdonald isn’t bald But it’s magic you know. Sandwell is tragic we know ! ( sorry a bit rubbish)
Been away for a few days and just been trying to catch up on news and gossip and have seen several names being ‘strongly linked’ though as ever how much anyone can put their faith in this stuff is anyone’s guess. Kevin Nolan? Can’t see it myself. Leon Britton? Can see it but not sure I want to. Dwight Gayle (£6m!)? Bit too similar to Dicko for my liking unless KJ is thinking of going winger-less and playing a real front 3 of Dicko, Afobe and Gayle – I mean you are not going to pay £6m (ok I realise we are NOT going to pay £6m for anyone) for someone as back up to your existing strikers now are you? Only 11 days till the fixtures are released! Can’t wait. So excited I even bought myself a season ticket on Friday – Stan Cullis/North Bank, NL3, row T, seat 74. Am I mad? No!
Welcome to the North Bank, (feckin Stan Cullis my bum) it will always be the North Bank to me.
You won’t regret it, when they do the lap of honour next May you will be in prime position to grab the Golden boot’s shirt when he throws it into the North Bank, me and Jen De Wolf am upstairs a little too far to chuck his shirt.
🙂
And when I was a very wee lad, it was the cowshed.
The Cowshed – upon the roof of which Eddie Clamp once landed a penalty kick having taken a twenty yard run-up. “Blazed it over the bar” would have been the Pink ‘Un’s take on it. Johnny Wilkinson would have been proud of the effort. Laugh???? – we just wet ourselves……
Yes, “we are the Stan Cullis, we’ll sing on our own” does not sound good. Jen De Wolfe, is she related to the (IMO) best Dutch player we have had?
Naw sorry to disappoint jerryd, she’s married to a right knob. But she comes to the Cowshe devery week with me so it must be love. The dream scenario, my wife loves Wolves as much as I do, (probably watched more matches than me when I was on shifts)
And my wife of 34 years has been to ………. absolutely none!!!!!
That is on my bucket list though. But it may be one I don’t achieve.
I’ll use my charm on her for the Boro game afterthe Black Forest Gateux.
🙂
Good luck with that!
Not long before the fixtures come out. Will be interesting to see where my mate Bob from Preston’s loyalty lies.
Ah, you mean you are in the upper echelons away from the rain – still can’t believe anyone would design a new stand for all that money and do so in a way that means the front 20 rows get wet whenever it rains! – and the lowlifes like me. P.S. still trying to think of another Dutch player to have worn the old gold and black,……….nope can’t think of anyone.
Not sure, but you may want to check our books:
De Vries
Stefan Postma
Robin Van der Laan
Haus Segers
David de Jong
…………………………….
and what about our Rajiv Van La Parra is he not Dutch?
Ok, ok enough already! In my defence is Rob Hindmarch, sorry, in my defence I am incredibly old and it was quite late after a long hard day at work. I shall slink away into a quiet corner and reflect on my ignorance.
Ok enough reflection now how about South Americans? I can only think of one – Rafael Villazan – but doubtless my senility prevents me from recalling the other 127 Brazilians, Argentinians, Uraguayans, Peruvians and Colombians who have played for us.
Can’t be arsed googling anymore. I must admit, I could not think of any either until I looked it up. Did we have any Mexicans?
ENOUGH!!!
We had that centre back from Nactionale with only one tooth.
Juanita (one eater)
Cat amongst the pigeons here.
IMO,
I think Danny Batth is gonna come back really strong this year after his enforced break.
He’s feckin double Dutch 🙂
Just been speaking to a director of Chesterfield FC, very happy to have signed Sylvan Ebanks Blake, giving him an opportunity to put himself in the shop window by scoring 30 goals for the Spirites next season.- – just needs big Chris Iwelumo to come out of retirement and to be his target man again. I`d say good luck to you Sylvan, go score some goals like you did down the wolves.
No preseason friendly at Chesterfield this year though, have to go to Doncaster on Sat August 1st instead. Reports Sako is heading to Leicester, but would prefer Everton, sensible fellow. I wonder how far down the list of free tranfers (as at the end of June) we have got too. Where did I read Wolves had money in the bank, maybe the cheque might be coming out shortly………
Is it likely do you think, should Sako go to Leicester, that Wolves and Leicester good pass each other as Wolves go up and Leicester go down? Certain irony there if so. Just don’t see Bakary as a Pearson sort of player.
Couldn’t agree more and if Sako goes to Leicester, or indeed any club in the third tier of the Money League, then he is putting cash before his career. He will soon realise that playing for a club battling just to survive and with absolutely zero chance of ever winning anything isn’t much fun no matter how much money they give you. Playing alongside a mish mash of journeymen like Nugent and overrated foreigners like Ulloa or over the hill foreigners like Cambiasso is nowhere near as exciting as playing alongside young, hungry talent like Afobe and Dicko with a club on the up and with fans who are second to none. Like you say if Leicester go down, which they could easily do, and we go up – which we could do – Sako will look very silly. The only thing that might save Leicester is that there might be three worse clubs nexct season. Personally I can’t see either Bournemouth or Watford cutting it and I have a feeling West Ham’s decision to replace Allardyce with Bilic could backfire spectacularly.
Have to agree with you Bedford re West Ham. How many clubs previously managed by Allerdyce are in a better position now than when Big Sam was in charge. Not Bolton or Blackburn, nor Newcastle and nobody outside of Geordie land would have cared if they’d been relegated. I’m told Allerdyce is a Wolves supporter and I once harboured hopes he might come to us and although I now think that Kenny is the best fit for Wolves who knows what the future may bring in the crazy world of football.
That’ll be “could” not “good” obviously – Freudian slip or old age again?!
There is a Mexican footballer we could sign, from West Texas.
His name is……El Paso!!
A headline I never thought I would read… George Ndah declared bankrupt.
No I’m not wet behind the ears, but how do you lose the sort of money he was earning (other than really bad investments)- especially from someone that I thought was very switched on and no doubt he would have had financial advisors.
All the best George… Hope it all turns around for you soon.
Maybe he got involved in McIndoe’s scams??
Just a thought.
Not happy about the interest in Nouha this is the problem with failing to win promotion with some good quality players in the side. If we lose him we will need to up our game on recruitment and do unto others what they are doing to us.
Colin – I agree wholeheartedly. Will be a good test of our ambition though. We need to keep people like Dicko to help get us back up into the Money League – £120m is reportedly the prize for getting there nowadays – so IF we are serious about wanting promotion and IF Messrs Morgan and Moxey have any guts then we will slap a price tag on Dicko of AT LEAST £15m and scare off any suitors. Then we should go out and bring in some quality additions to the squad as a clear statement of intent to everybody, including our own players.
The problem with a 15 million price tag is that there are them out there who will see that as no problem, and watch greasel’s eyes light up and him go into orgasmic orbit if someone bites at that number!
If there is Premiership ambition in the corridor of power at The Mol, then honour thy contract, and fuck off any bids, should be the order of the day.
However, and y’all may not believe this, but I have my doubts!!
OK make it £115m! You are right though in that there are some now with so much money they can buy up anyone and anything whether they want them or not. Look at Chelsea, they had 29 senior players out on loan last season. Not kids, senior players mostly bought from other clubs for tidy sums. With a first team squad of 25 that’s 54 senior, costly, players. If you add in their youngsters -championship winning youngsters – that’s over 70!
Hear hear Bedford ..
made me cringe seeing Dicko being talked about ..I haven’t accepted Sako going yet, so Dicko would be a stroke and a heart attack to me..
As for Afobe…
Anyway ..we are lining up goal scorers for the master plan so ‘intent ‘ really is the phrase for the 2015/6 season I agree…
I just hope we can prevent goals
going in the other end which I’m bored of harping on about.. Don’t talk to me about goal difference after last season..
Mr Moxey/Morgan/Thelwell/KJ – are you there? testing testing 123…..
Lining Up ………… not interested until we start Signing Up. Talk is talk, we need to see the talk turned into action. I am sure Kenny has his finger on the pulse though so I wait in anticipation.
We WILL be promoted at the end of next season, as CHAMPIONS. You heard it hear first.
Come on me babbies.
Afobe is the one we need to worry about. If a prem club comes in with a bid Moxey will take it and buy a Pizza Hut.
See another left back still in nappies has signed – at this rate we will have to replace the half time oranges with Farley’s rusks. We need to look at signing some experience. You don’t win anything with kids!!
By the way,Allardyce is a Wolves fan – he grew up on Wrens Nest apparently.
Congratulations to a fellow Bedford Wolves member and North Bank STH Dave Byfield and his wife Hayley who welcomed a new little wolf cub into the world last night. No name sorted as yet but apparently my suggestion on William Oscar Lee Victor Edward Stephen Byfield is still under consideration!
If his other half feels that six forenames is too much, he could drop the last one and change is surname by deedpoll to Stevens.
Trouble is his wife’s middle name is Chelsea, given her by her Chelsea mad Dad, so she is probably anti-football names for children to be honest which is probably fair enough. Although my youngest two sons are called Steve & Andy (Messrs Bull and Mutch of course) I tend to keep Wolves names for our pets. Over the years we have had dogs called Sir Jack and Stanley, a fish called Wolfie, a rabbit called Molly (Moli-neux) and a tortoise called Billy. And yet people say I am mad!
Staggered to see Dicko only got 12 months left on his contract are we the liverpool of the championship ? Sign as much potential as you like but its got to be balanced with other things. Kenny is going to end up with a squad
like he had at millwall just twice the size.
ps Not blaming Kenny for this its got other fingerprints all over it.
Job Vacancies. In all my 50 years of supporting the wolves, I`ve never seen so many job vacancies, with another one posted this morning. Can`t believe and I hope its not rats leaving a sinking ship, just disappointed that the job of overpaid fat controller chief executive has not been advertised yet.
I still think we are a few short of nearly out of contract leaving foreign academies and cost nothing to sign young pacey left backs with names even the most creative fan couldn`t work a song around. Can`t we find a few new players with easy names like Smith, or Hill (no offence Clive please) which would make it easier for the creative songsters to work with.
Not surprised Sako and Dicko are being linked with a joint move, if Everton bid £15m for Dicko, so his mate agreed to join them, why not take the money, then get in Gayle and a few other new faces…..food for thought eh. I`ll just go and check the wolves website for the next vacancy after I`ve made a cup of tea.
Just read on the Wolvesnewsnow site “Wolves to make an announcement at 11 am tomorrow”
Rob Edwards just been appointed to First Team Coach, so it seems Kenny is off to Liverpool and we’re getting Brenda Rogers.
No, just piss taking honestly, but announcement 11 am tomorrow. What about? God only knows.
Watch that space 🙂
Greasel resigns…..and takes over at Fifa, where he can spin globally, and get his sticky claws on much more money than morgan will ever have.
Or, Lionel Messi gives up football, signs for the shit.
Or, Major structural fault found at the poorthorns, all the seats are facing the wrong way.
I could go on all day!!
Fowb
Four minuteds to go ………………. I have the page opened and am waiting expectedly.
Oops………….. an hour early lol
Just had that cup of tea, and while scoffing my lunch decided to visit the wolves website – oh yes and another vacancy. We now have a first team coach, I thought that was what KJ was!?!, and a vacancy within the academy set up. Well done Rob Edwards, lets hope some of that magic you provided the under 18s rubs off on our first team squad.
Any quesses what the 11.00am announcement will be about. Maybe Sako has agreed the new contract after all, and the four new signings M&M have agreed to, free signings or money spent, another conundrum there.
It will be the away kit… They are promoting the time of 11am using the squad numbers and in white/gold.
I cannot think of any other reason our sponsor would be involved.
I googled the kit… Looks like we’re playing in Liverpools strip 🙂 … Morgan will be well happy!
It’s light Blue (Wolves official web site) … looks pretty Man City to me …. crap…
It is utter shit. Guess there wont be many purchases.
Now that the jaw-dropping announcement has come and gone (yawn) my thoughts have turned to what kind of formation/system king KJ might use. This I think is an interesting one to consider.
As we know in Lge 1 KJ initially went 442 and we did ok but it was only when we switched to 451 (known to be KJ’s preferred shape) at Christmas that we really went into overdrive. Then last season we started off with 451 and then changed in January to 442 largely on the back of having signed Afobe and KJ realising that he had to try and include both Afobe and Dicko in the starting line-up so more or less had to play 2 up front.
So what will we do next season? To me there are a lot of pointers towards playing 352 as our stock-in-trade but with options for changing mid-game to 442 or 451. Look at the facts. Defensively we lack pace in the centre of the back four with Batth and Stearman. Both great defenders but neither are exactly quick. Our full backs are often thought of as better going forward than defensively – Iorfa, Golbourne, Doherty and even Hause. In the middle of the park KJ likes there to be three ideally as that helps protect McDonald – when we play just two in there he can often get exposed and closed down too easily. We have signed Wallace whose stated preferred position is as the ‘no.10’ role. We have lost the width that Sako gave us (well almost certainly) and don’t seem to have a replacement lined up and on the right flank Van La Parra, Henry, Boukari or even Ismail are all ok but not perhaps automatic starting XI material? Then of course we have the two prized jewels in our crown of Afobe and Dicko. It is also unlikely – ok then f***ing highly unlikely! – that we are going to splash the cash too much (rumours that we do actually possess a cheque book have yet to be confirmed). So where does that leave us? More or less making the most of the players we have with maybe just 2 additions of the free transfer or loan type.
Here is how I could see it working. Ikeme in goal of course and then a back 3 of Batth Stearman and Hause (or Ebanks-Landell). Iorfa and Golbourne as the two wing-backs (with cover from Doherty and Hause/Ebanks-Landell). A central midfield three of McDonald alongside a ‘minder’ (no, not Dennis Waterman) or defensive central midfielder if you will. This I think is where one of the new additions is needed. I know the likes of Price, Edwards and even Evans may lay claim to this spot but I am not convinced. Someone like Mulumbu (ex-Scum) or Mile Jedinak from Palace (my preferred option) or even Leon Britton (NOT my preferred option). All are free agents so fit our recruitment profile perfectly! Then Jed Wallace playing in front of McDonald and A.N.Other in the ‘no.10’ position. Then of course Benik and Nouha up front. We would have the likes of Kusczak, if he stays, or McCarey, if he is ‘clean’ or Flatt as keeper on the bench plus Doherty and Ebanks-Landell/Hause as defensive cover. Also on the bench could be Edwards (cover for either no.10 or minder), Price (cover for minder), any two from Boukari, Van La Parra and Henry if we want to change to 442 or 451 mid-game plus, and here is the second new addition, a striker as yet unnamed.
So that’s it. What do we think? Seems logical to me. Cheap so Moxey and Morgan would love it. Might appeal to KJ’s instincts of tinkering with formations and gives not only a Plan B but a Plan C as well.
Am now off to lie down in a darkened room to recover from the Earth-shattering news about the new away kit.
“Am now off to lie down in a darkened room to recover from the Earth-shattering news about the new away kit ………… and await the postman to deliver a letter from Wolves asking me to become part of the tacticians and selections team”
I don’t think you have given much thought to this!!
I think I need to lie down and take some sort of substance after reading that not inconsiderable view
Interesting post, thanks. I, too, would like to see us switch to a back 3. How frustrating is it to see 4 defenders patrolling the halfway line when the opposition have only 1 up front ? But I don’t think that it is in KJ’s locker to tinker with his back 4. I was also interested in his comment (pre the England U-20’s tournament) that he sees Iorfa as a right-back for the moment. Where does that leave Doherty ?
Anyway for what its worth my thoughts are as follows;
Our 4-2-3-1 system worked very well for most of the season but at times we were found out – usually away from home. Maybe a switch to a ‘Juventus-like’ 4-3-1-2 for away fixtures would bring rewards. 2 from Dicko/Afobe/vLP up front with either Edwards or Wallace in behind would give us pace up front plus an additional midfielder to shield the back 4.
I’d agree that a priority has to be a defensive-minded midfielder. I don’t want some Vinnie Jones type, but someone who can drive the team forward, much as Bailey and. to a lesser extent, ‘Psycho’ used to. Long term I can envisage a back 3 of Iorfa, Hause and Deslandes (the new guy) which would certainly not lack pace, height or strength.
Lol Clive …Brompton are you Bedford Wolf as well then?
No Stevie, was adding a bit on to his last sentence that he should have said lol.
Just seen a photo of a Wolves shirt from the 1921 Cup Final purchased by Wolves for the museum. Got to say looks better than next season’s away kit.
Been away from the blog for a while and I return to find much talk of job vacancies, tight purses, possibility of Nouha exiting with his mate. Just to keep us occupied over the dull summer months! Away shirts (bring back the days of ‘change’ shirts, rather than money spinning multi-kits) look better than the home ones. Other than the colour. I’m off on holiday. Bedford Wolf is very active – must have had a good holiday!
Agree with you about the away, sorry change, kit being a better design than than the new home one. Sorry to disappoint but not been on holiday yet – so watch out when I have! lol
And at least Nouha is modelling the kit, so he must be staying.
I can’t stand this shite re Dicko leaving us…are we all mad with all that we will achieve next year with Afobe and Dicko together ..then there is Jed Wallace too…
Our two Ms have made fu** ups in the past but even they are not mental…
Too much money at stake…
I can’t believe we have believers on this …
Too much money at stake?
Those two fuck ups knew the same thing twelve months, and six months ago, and what did they do about it?
Fuck all, except Afobe, and having seen what one good signing can do, why no ambition to get more?
Coz they ARE mental!!!
All our Premier League money-grabbers have gone now so we can afford to push the boat out a bit. And we will.
The point I was trying to make Clive was not letting of what we’ve got,not buying more of what we want..(that’s bad enough.. ie a Quality centre half to help or replace DB)
Selling the family silver like Dicko would be completely loopy ..Sako’s a true historic tragedy ..I thought we should of been good enough to recontract him and pay more wages..
Mr Greasel as you call him has a business head on him and £120M is a true dogs dangler and we need players to get us there..
Dicko not only scores quality goals but takes defenders away from Afobe too ..as a pair together they must be the best in the league..
First para ..not letting go of what we have got..
I suppose we could make him play out his contract next season like Sako did last but it would have been so much better either way if he was on a new and longer contact. I expect he is on far less than Sako anyway.
If Dicko goes to Everton won’t he be largely confined to the bench: Martinez usually plays one up front ahead of a five man midfield. As you have to assume Lukaku will almost always be selected Dicko will get few starting opportunities. Of course if the money is right he may not care too much about starting but I hope not. Hope this makes sense but it being a Saturday night I have enjoyed a glass or two, or three, well maybe four.
Pissed. Just remembering Danny Creanies 2 goal destruction of the shit. 1983 at the poorthorns. Fond memories. Those really were the days my friend. Subway Army invaded the brummie road.
England defence very similar to Wolves ..I trust that we won’t have to put in 3 to win conceding 2 this coming season..
Similarities …
There are life changing and career defining moments in life that make your head spin. Jack Wilshire was different class last night, all the holes in the Swiss cheese lined up in perfect alighnment for him. His performance was outstanding and just when he was about to spoil it all with a second crazy tackle you could visibly see a light come on in his young head and he backed off the tackle. That crowned what would have been a potential sending off onto a brilliant performance. His second goal is the type of strike we can only but dream of for the Molineux, the first was sweeeeeeet but the second was orgasmic.
I’m certainly not a Gooners fan or a huge follower of Wilshire, but the lad “done good” last night.
Now the defence, WTF happened there? Hart was certainly at fault for the second.

🙂
Regarding goals we can only dream of for the Molineux, may I draw your attention to September 28th 2013.
Wolves 2 – 0 Sheffield Utd.
Bakary Sako – absolute screamer from outside the box.
I think Jack Wilshere must have been watching him.
With the new season’s fixtures almost upon us – only 3 more sleeps – thoughts turn to what might happen in the coming 12 months and even though I rarely get anything like this right here are some ‘predictions’ :
Championship
Champions WOLVES
Runners up. Burnley
Play offs. Hull, Derby, Middlesborough & Nottm Forest
Relegated. Rotherham, Huddersfield & Brighton
Money League
Champions. Arsenal
Runners up. Chelsea
Relegated. Watford, Bournemouth & Leicester (obviously tempted to put the Scum in there but think they will scrape by again and finish about 16th).
My view:
Championship:
Champions : WOLVES
Runners Up: Middelsbrough
Play offs: Derby, Ipswich, Forest, Brentford (Derby to go up)
Relegated: MK Dons, Rotherham, Bolton
Premiership:
Champions: Chelsea
Runners Up: Man Utd
Relegated: Bournemouth, Newcastle, Sunderland
Second Division.
Champions: Wolves
Runners up and playoffs: Who gives a shit?
I like that – Second Division. Brilliant. That is EXACTLY what it is, none of this fancy Premiership/Championship nonsense.
How are you mate? Are you coming over for Sat 8 Aug when we have the “First Match of the Season Blogger’s Gathering”? I was going to wear your T Shirt ( I did thank you for that did I not?), but I now agree with you about the sizes in USA being bigger than UK. It is gihugelymongous so will wear it after I have porked out on Moxey Pies.
If the first match of the season is away, then the bloggers meet will be a bit of a damp squibbo.
No, I cannot make it, only so many brownie points can be earned during the close season.
I are in good health, thank you.
You probably did thank me, you seem a polite person, but looks CAN be deceiving!
We are currently bracing ourselves for Bill, the tropical storm heading towards us about as fast as the shit defense.
The ark which was so lovingly constructed a month ago will be put to good use again, and maybe that is the way for me to get to England for August!!
OOOPs!
Almost forgot.
FOwb
I feel relieved now. If Storm Bill is like the shit defence you will be safe and sound.
Away to Blackburn mate. Guess it is a lot closer to me so I will be there (83 miles).
Premier ..Champions Man Utd runners up Chelsea …Championship ..Champions..Derby..runners up Wolves.. play offs Boro Forest Burnley Ipshit..
Unless we buy a centre half ! Then we win it..
It seems I can’t spread my paranoia about our defence here at all..no bites on this then ..
Must be me…here’s to the Alamo and
Valium ..lol
Our defence is the least of our worries in my opinion as we have 7 good defenders for the 4 positions. Exdpect Iorfa and Hause to be much more prominent next season adding the pace we lack in the centre of the defence. Personally I hope we adopt a much more attacking style, winning 3-2 instead of drawing 1-1 will be my bet just as Mick did in 2008/09. Better to win two and lose one than draw three – that kind of approach. Worked for Ballmouth and Watford last season.
P.S. just read that Palace want £10m for Gayle! Ridiculous.
Mr Bedford..
thx for giving me some fodder here..How can the defence be the last of our problems as the sole reason for our demise last season was shit goal difference and a record no of goals conceded on November..
I know that month was put right (too late) by introducing Iorfa and House but down the middle we were like a sieve and lacked confidence..
DB is currently hocked too ..Steers got his player of the season because of effort not defensive stability..
With so much at stake we should be doing an Alladyce and making sure by buying our minimum goals conceded situation for this coming season..
Ok we could centre House and do it that way but we are currently perilous again..
There are several defenders in the lower
leagues to give us some insurance..
If we cock up again on GD I shall be inconsolable…
Mr Steve – well you started this formal bit! lol, I hear what you are saying and feel your pain too (I was at Brentford in November when we were all over the place, lost 0-4 and were damned lucky to get 0). However I don’t think you can put the blame solely on the defence for our November nightmare. At that time we had lost Dicko, tried to replace him with the dire Sagbo and the awful Graham (at that Brentford game I have a couple of rose bushes that show more movement than Danny boy did that day) and so carried no goal threat. Consequently we were like sitting ducks inviting the opposition onto us safe in the knowledge that they could pile forward without any undue concern about us hitting them on the break. Look at the Derby 0-5 disaster, Clarke up front, McAlinden brought on and Saville missing a great chance to score when it was still only 0-1. No goal threat. Sitting targets. Don’t get me wrong I agree that the centre of our defence though strong, good in the air etc lacks pace and so we are vulnerable to quick breaks and pacey strikers. As well as Stearman played last season – and I voted for him as Player of the Season – I think Hause at centre back or even Ebanks-Landell would be better. In fact (clever link here to a previous post extolling the virtues of a 532 system coming up) I think we should play 532 next season (see, told you it was coming!).
Just banter Bedford..I hear you but we have to be smarter than this attacking is the best form of defence sometimes and we have this season even without Sako a great bunch but it is not difficult to work out.
DO NOT CONCEDE.. we even did pitifully against Millwall the last game
of the season ..
It cannot be allowed to happen ..buy buy.. buy…insurance ….clean sheets mean we only have to put in one to win!!!
Alkaydice does it ..dare I say it McCarthy does it..even Mourino
..It’s going to be a difficult start and we might (will) have to attack on the break..
If anyone else starts inferring that McDickwadhead is a tactical genius, they will have me to answer to!!!
I’ve just seen him in the “Jurassic World” movie.
Don’t care what the doubting Thomas’s say Steve, we need another defender, two if we want proper cover Batth whose usual standard dropped a lot towards mid to end season, but as I say the break will do him good (pardon the pun). If the papers can be believed then we are in for the exiled Blackpool fullback Yissambolongodicko Oreo. Youv’e guessed it, can’t remember his first name. If I trawl back through the other offerings I vaugely recall them linked with another also. So Kenny’s with us.
Predictions.
Southampton to win Pricetag league
Chelski 2nd
Everton 3rd
2nd Div.
Charlton
Derby
Brentfordshiretown
Playoffs
Forest
Ipshite
Leeds
Brentfordshiretown to win through.
Buying Jed Wallace is not going to elevate us from also rans to a decent side with consistency, so no go this season.
In the club shop the other day and got 5 Wolves home shirts for a tenner with my season ticket discount got a decent set of car cleaning rags for £9, way to go Moxey.
🙂
I agree with Bedford Wolf Steve, our defense to me is not a major concern. It is also not a MAJOR concern to kenny either as he has just offloaded Ricketts. The goal difference you talk about is fact, I agree with that, so …………. we should have scored more. Ok, so we had a bad November, and that hurt us, but our four 1-0 wins in August should/could have been more had our strikers been on their best, and we only scored 6 goals in September from 5 games. If you look at our wins; nine 1-0s, four 2-0s, two 2-1s. Then look at our eight losses by just the odd goal. That says to me that we needed to score more. 18 clean sheets throughout the season is not considered bad in my eyes. I do agree, we do need another defender or two, but I do not consider that as the most overriding factor just now.
This blog is awesome, never have I seen a site that enables you to voice your opinion in such a mature manner without some knobhead taking umbridge.
When did you mature????
On the blog meet up frontier how about a fixture in Ole London town.
Always gets my juices flowing (as long as we can all get tickets). Could meet up at Euston about 12. Anybody who wants to stay over till sunday could crash out at LondonWolvesloyal.
Sorry, still cant make it.
I am Clive From Houston, not Clive From Euston!!
Hahaha, best post for ages!
I personally think we have a difficult start this time Hull and QPR same month…
This is when we need to insure the defence!!!! Goals on the break..KJ
Stockpiling Vallium big time..Nervous…
COYW for Christ sake..
You certainly are paranoid mate – sort yourself out. Hull and QPR do not worry me. We had 3 relegated sides (Norwich, Fulham and Cardiff) amongst our first 4 games and beat all three of them 1-0 (note the clean sheets lol).
Come on mate – we am Wolves ay we!!!
Let me know what games you are planning on seeing. I unfortunately have restricted my matches this coming season so my plans currently read as follows:
Away: Blackburn, Bolton, Preston, Derby, Rotherham, Sheff Wed, Huddersfield, Middlesbrough, Burnley, Hull and Leeds.
Home: Middlesbrough, Leeds, Preston, Ipswich and Sheff Wed
Jesus..Brompton…I’m being outblogged here re our defenders..look at how many we conceded!!! …Stu…heeelp..
What’s the matter with you lot we all want to go up don’t we?…So let’s make sure then..!
Perhaps KJ is putting Hause in the middle then..(he could be good)
if we start letting in goals I’ll fill the blog up with my moaning lol
Me of little faith..
Have to laugh and I am loving this.
Look at it this way mate:
Promoted sides:
Bournemouth GF 98, GA 45, GD 53
Watford GF 91, GA 50, GD 41
Norwich GF 88, GA 48, GD 40
Wolves:
GF 70 (28 less than Bournemouth, 21 less than Watford and 18 less than Norwich)
GA 56 (11 more than Bournemouth, 6 more than Watford and 8 more than Norwich)
I agree we need to supplement our defence, but I personally believe we need to get in another Striker BEFORE that as our GOALS FOR figures falls extremely short of what the 3 promoted clubs achieved. In my opinion we should have scored more goals than we did, and us not scoring those goals led directly or indirectly to us conceding more than we should. So – STRIKER first DEFENDER second.
Anyway, I am bored of this now, so I am not saying anymore 🙂
One for Stu before I go. I do not consider us as also rans. The majority of fans I spoke to before the first ball was kicked said they would be happy for us to be anywhere above 10th. We achieved so much more than that and would have been in the play offs but for this season being a season of needing more than 78 points (highest ever needed before was only 76). So we achieved so much more than expected and I am proud of them.
Anyway, I am going to get some work done now!!!
Brompto
I WAS taking the piss.
🙁
Sorry Buddy, stir crazy.
Stick to yer guns matey boy.
We know your right, some games it was like a leaking tap the way they were going in.
I would like to bring up Millwall last game, we had the fire power to score enough to take that deficit away and go into the playoffs , if we were Man Utd we would have set pur stall out, gone for it, and got it. But to then concede a goal against them when we were throttling them inexcusable.
We have the midfielder, we need 1 or 2 defenders and then cover for Dicko & Afobe (unlike last November), and of course the replacement for Sako.
Swap Moxey for Blatter (available on a free transfer) and we will win the lot.
For fecks sake, roll on Aug 15th I(Hull) ‘m sick of talking Shite.
🙂
Because of what happened last November, we need cover for Dicko & Afobe as a priority. THEN we need to look at 1/2 defenders. OR ………. look for all at the same time. I am confident we will do well this coming season, but as Steve is suggesting, we need to ensure we have the respective cover i n the right areas BEFORE we kick the ball at Blackburn on the 8th August.
Come on Moxey, Kenny has been looking, let him have the funds to purchase!! I am confident he will not do a Solbakken or Saunders, or even a McArthy and will buy wisely. Okay, he may make a mistake and buy someone who is not as good or does not fit in as he had hoped (Ricketts), but I don’t believe he will feck up big style
I WILL go back to work now!
I quite liked Ricketts – marshaled the defense and got forward to good effect. OK not able to perform anymore at Championship standard but not, IMO, to be be dismissed as poor buy.
I’m with you CotsWolf on the Ricketts debate.
A useful player and a damn good bloke to boot. No pun intended.
The sort of solid character that made a good club captain and had a good steady influence on the dressing room.
I’ll miss him.
Ricketts deserved better, a coaching position would be brill, he has a vast experience that by all reports he was passing on well to the younger defenders. Danny Batth could have done far better with another season alongside big Sam.
A great bloke, integrity, always gave 100% and professional to the end. He will be missed by this Wolves fan.
🙁
My guess is that he would have been offered a coaching/backroom position but he doesn’t feel his playing days are over just yet. Even if it’s down a division or two.
I think he was a real smart acquisition for us at the right time and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back in a few years, especially if Kenny’s still here.
I agree mate. I was not suggesting he was a poor buy though, but one that is no longer in Kenny’s plans. I thought he did well for us.
I to
D you all Kenny Jackett was going for Joey Barton…….
Uncanny
http://mobile.wolves.co.uk/news/article/wallace-cant-wait-2498034.aspx
Doesn’t look anything like him to me!!! lol
Da da da da da ra ta da
Benik Afobe is Englands No 9
Congratulations Benik, true recognition for a good goalscorer.
Hope you get into the team either this evening or Sunday.
Keep your head down boy, we need you at Molinuex on 11th Aug
So sad to read about the death of young Joseph Thompson, the fan of the year in 2014.
The pictures of the funeral brought a tear to my eye – hundreds of Wolves fans in Old Gold attending.
And big respect to Kenny Jackett and Jez Moxey for being there.
I don’t know if his family read this blog but, as someone who has suffered the same loss, I’d like to offer my condolences to them for losing such a smashing lad.
http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/778778742?-300:786:0
The list gets longer. I am baffled. Who are we really after now? I am going to stop reading all these reports and just wait until we sign someone. Steve Showcase will be looking at Derik Osede and Joan Oriol though no doubt lol.
After many hours ploughing through the fixtures I can now confidently predict that the date to put in your diaries is………..Tuesday 05 April 2016. Yes my fellow Wolves aficionados for THAT is the date when our promotion back to the Money League will be confirmed following yet another away win, this one at MK Franchise.
Mind you I have always been an OWF (no not pronounced ‘oaf’) rather than a PWF. Optimistic Wolves Fan as opposed to a Pessimistic Wolves Fan.
Incidentally away games I am planning on going to : Fulham, Preston, Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton, QPR, Reading, MK Franchise, Nottm Forest.
Blackburn. Over rd from ground a true pie shop. Nothing but pies. Get in there. Changing the subject heroes of my youth The Dead Kennedys in brum nxt tuesday. Proper punk band even though they are yanks. Too drunk to f**k. What a classic. Should av bin on x factor. Rant over.
Getting very close now to friendlies and team news..
All quiet on the Sako front!!
Does this mean 1 more season?
Guilt setting in?

If you are trying to do a Brompto, with vertically descending capitals spelling out words, you are failing spectacularly!
What you have to remember is Brompto is ex Navy or something, so has way too much free time and needs to get a life.
You, on the other hand, appear to be a highly intelligent chap, so should not be lowering yourself to his standards.
Kind of reminds me of the age old question about Benny, once of Crossroads.
“Is Benny as dumb as he portrays, or is he a good actor.
If so, what is a good actor doing in Crossroads……..?”
The dog days of the close season are with us, and I am going to watch The Women’s World Cup this afternoon, England v Norway.
Now who needs to get a life??
Ah now you’re talking. Crossroads! Miss Dianne, Vince, Sandy, Carlos the chef (was he the same bloke as Carlos The Jackal? – no of course not, I’m getting confused with that film with Edward Fox, The Day of The Chef) and of course the so-dreadful-she-was-good Amy Turtle. Meanwhile another day passes and still no more recruits to the Wolves lair. Now we are being linked with some Italian from Inter Milan which at first hearing sounds good but then you read he hasn’t scored as goal after about 900 games and your enthusiasm wanes a tad. Meanwhile Derby have signed about 27 new players but hey-ho, as Rachel might say, plenty of time yet. P.S. defensive central midfielder, Chalobah on loan from Chelski? Looks good with the U21’s and very pally with Afobe.
What have I done ..Houston’s on the sauce and Bedfords on one again ..
Thomas or Ben for Christ sake give us another thread..the blog natives are getting restless..
Incidentally code breaker fence man why is it all quiet on Sako?
Because, my dear Showtime, greasel has gone to the bored of the Second Division.
Never mind this Championship bollocks, tell it like it is, the friggin’ second tier of English football!
By going there, he will have an even bigger grease filled head, and will no longer be bothered with the comings and goings of the hoi polloi, and nothing will get done.
This will, in fact, be his true porpoise in getting on the bored, knowing he will never be considered for the Prem version, and so will want to keep us in the second division in perpetuity, so he can become as entrenched there as he is at The Mol, and have deluded delusions of grandeur forever….or until he gets “defrocked”
Come on, people, someone must have some dirt on this fat bastard. And if not, somebody make something up!!
FOjm
And come on guys, only 2 posts to go and we’ll crack the 200, in the close season!!
Slightly strongish views of our most prominent executive..
This ‘Vital Wolves’ mob even they are quiet on the subject…
Incidently England Women look as likely to score as us keeping Sako..
Penalties….
2 things that make me feel happy are, Wolves winning a game 5 –
0 And Wolves winning a game agains the horrible shit from Sandwell 5-
0
I think nobody in the prem fancies Sako at the wages he or his agent are demanding. Bit of a luxury, usually turns up but not always, often tries to beat one man too many when he should be looking to pass and can’t tackle: at the sort of club who might be on the look out for players of his standard they need someone to fight relegation battles from day one. We, including me, love him at the Molly so a way should be found to reward him without breaking Moxey/Morgan’s wage rules. The top end the Championship is his right level.
Post No: 202
HEAR, HEAR. I like him a lot, a classy player …………… when he turns up. As has been said by several other bloggers, he can change a game in 15 minutes with his sublime brilliance, but then he disappears. He is, as you say, a luxury player. I would love him to stay, but I will not be upset if (when) he leaves us. We will need a good replacement though – that is a fact. And, because Steve Showcase is feeling a bit left out, we could do with a defender or too as well.
I read somewhere that he may be off to Besiktas in Turkey.
Lucy Bronze.
Who ?, I hear most of you ask.
She plays right back for England and yesterday scored the winner against Norway, to help England proceed to the quarter finals, for a match up against Canada.
I don’t care what y’all think of women’s football, I find it thoroughly enjoyable, and any professional player in any country would have been proud to score such a magnificent goal.
Watch it, if you aint already.
Its a stonker!!!
She’s one of three famous footballing sisters.
Lucy Bronze
Lucy Lastic
Lucy Tupper
Well that’s the tone lowered again by StuWolf.
Straight red, intp the shower with the Lucy sisters.
Get in there. Back of the net.
🙂
Took me a while but I finally got the last Lucy. When I say ‘got’ …………….
Also have to disagree with Clive From Euston (sic) and at the risk of being labelledd a dinosaur (T.Rex, now there was a band!) and un-PC etc I have to say I think women’s football is embarrassingly dire. The good old BBC continue to push it and promote it but its still lower league Sunday men’s football at best. Mind you the goalkeepers are funny to watch.
Chris Wood – any thoughts as it seems like we are closing in on him?
Sorry Steve Showcase but I still don’t think we need another defender! Striker (maybe two) and defensive central midfielder are our top priorities for me. Then to strengthen the squad maybe a defender and a left winger. Maybe.
Being a Home & Away supporter, I frequently meet up with Steve Showcase and Bromton Wolf on the odd terrace or two and I have to say I’m in both camps.Steve showcase wants a defender and Brompton wants consistency with a Defender lower down his priority list.
I want the return of good old clean sheets we enjoyed so much in the League one days as opposed to the leaking tap of last year, the fault in my opinion lay squarely on Danny Batth shoulders for sure, he was a shadow of his former self up against tall, fast opposition and then losing Golboune for so long really fecked it all up in Epic proportions. So a defence with the consistency we enjoyed two seasons ago would take pressure off the team.
Buying Chris Wood, WTF? He can’t get a game for Leicester that’s got to be a backward step and plus he did’nt want to come to us before so Feck him.
Let’s get quality in, it’s out there, just needs buying at “Moxey price” and we’re sorted.
Not against womens football, but as Clive said, “the goal shown on Sky was pretty sweet” and I do like the celebrations after, if we did that we’d be arrested.
🙂
Have to agree about Chris Wood why should we want him. He obviously didn’t want to come and play for us so bugger him. Anyway we have struck gold once by buying a striker who played for the shit, and lightning would not strike again.
Yeah, celebrations were good, but they must be afraid of getting yellow cards as none of them take their shirts off when they score!!!
Wait until the end of play in the final!!!
If they are sisters, why do they all have the same first name?
Is it because they have 3 different fathers??!!
Irish triplets and their father is searching for the other two men.
🙂
Ok..this is what I mean..
we have a difficult first August and there lies the basis of the master plan..as we all (except Stu) concider we are good enough to get to the promised £120m..
To have any chance we need to play Goldbourne Steers Hause (Central) Iorfa across the back..but we won’t..we’ll play Goldbourne Steers EBL (who will be our opponents 12th player as he heads the ball back to them)Iorfa..
Danny Batth goes into the mix but he will be unfit and needs nurturing..
We have five games in August.. Blackburn A Hull H and QPR H Cardiff A CharltonH..
Assuming we are on fire at the front and Wallace plays well with K-Mac then I reckon we should take 12 points out of 15..
That would launch us into the top frame where we must stay..
But….if we give goals away then we’ll prob get 9/10 points and stay under the top six unless we don’t concede..
Historically teams that start well stay thereabouts in that league position..
The point is that even without Sako we could score loads of goals but my take was to make sure at the back buy buying insurance and clean sheet.. ..Particularly away..
We can play open football but look what happend at home against Millwall..we conceded 2 to a numpty relegated side..
Please let me be wrong..
No sorry mate, I’m not allowing you to be wrong. We Need A Decent Defender, End of!
1 clash of heads, tweaked muscle or broken metatarsal could FUBAR our chances, if EBL is the answer, then it’s a stupid feckin question. We need cover and someone solid as a rock in the middle of the back four. You can buy all the fancy names you want to score three and four a game, but if your dodgy defence is letting in four or five a game it all counts for nothing. Lose Golbourne or Iorfa and they will struggle to keep their shit together.
Just to set the record straight here, I was taking the P when I painted a doom and gloom picture of us missing out on promotion.
I believe we should be shit hot favourites even with the team structure as it stands now, Jordan Graham from the U21’s could more than fill Sako’s booties and day. Give him a go Kenny.
We’ve got to be in their with a good chance.
🙂
We will be good enough to go up but only if we get a decent striker to complement/cover Afobe and Dicko plus a decent replacement for Sako, if required. We need a decent defender, preferably one who is comfortable across the back four and a defensive midfielder, the sort who wins the ball then passes it ten yards to Kevin MacDonald. So in my opinion everybody is right, but the whole spine of the team needs strengthening or Stu will have his prediction come true. No and no definitely to Chris Wood; as many others have said we need players who see their future at Wolves and not a Leicester reject who thought he was too good for us.
Well said that man. Talking from the hip.????
Hear hear..I’ve started something..I truly fear for the first month…
May crap yourself time never happen again..

Oh his name is Derek Dougan and from Blackburn he did come
To help put Ronnie Allen’s team back in Division One
And if you come to Molineux we’ll show you what we mean
He’s the greatest centre forward that the World has ever seen
La La La La, D-Derek Dougan
He’s the greatest centre forward in the land
La La La La, D-Derek Dougan
He’s the greatest centre forward in the land
No, I haven’t gone completely bananas. I’ve run out of things to say on this particular blog so this will have to do. It was the first song I sang at the Mol.
Oh! One more thing.
You were right Wolfstroker – biking is bloody good fun!
I hate to be a “spelling or word correcting Nazi” but I gotta put the record straight.
The actual words are:
“Oh…………… his name is Derek Dougan and from Leicester he did come,
To play for Ronnie Allen’s team back in Division One,
And if you come to Molineux you’ll always hear us sing,
Astle is a bastard and Dougan is the King.
Da da da da, da da der are da,
He’s the greatest,
Center forward,
That the world,
Has ever seen.”
And by all accounts, and I’m sweared to secrecy as to my sauce, but Jordan Graham is the business.
FOwb
If we’re getting into spelling, I think you mean:-
‘the greatest CENTRE forward’
Only the Queen’s English will do when talking about the King.
Damned foreign typewriters!!!
Ah DG, I always had a soft spot for big Derek. He just made me smile.
Glad you’re getting out on your mean machine. It’s the best thing about summer and keeps me sane when there’s no footie to think about.
As for a replacement for Bakary, I’m with Clive on this . Jordan Graham could well fit the bill. And don’t forget the forgotten man, Razak Boukari. He owes us one good season, at least.
I had a dream. Oh No not another dream I hear you all say. Yep, another dream. This one was about us not getting another defender in and Stears going back to his old self and making stupid mistakes that lead directly to a goal. The dream went on, and Hause cocks up too and gets sent off, then Iorfa gets slammed against the hoardings by some dodgy striker from Hull and breaks his leg. EBL tries some of McCarey’s white stuff and gets caught out and Golbourne asks for a move to the shit.
I guess we need another defender or two.
Oh, I forgot. we buy Woods and he turns out to be a Clarke in disguise and can’t hit the net for toffee.
I don’t believe any of the dream though, as I also jump ship and go to support Chelski with Pferdepferde.
Was your dream Lemoncello induced?
I was not party to the Lemoncello discussion, so even though I knew there was a discussion at the last Bloggers Meet, I do not know what you are on about.
Doogooder V Houston who’s the most linguistic .. prob give it to the Doog..(frustrated writer) sorry fence man

Don’t mess with the best, it brings the house down.
Fellow Bloggers awake!
As this thread limps its way towards 250 comments I’ve got a question to which I’d like an answer.
It involves the conundrum that is Michael Jacobs.
In my opinion he was one of our best players in Division III (and was on the end of one of the sweetest goals I’ve seen in a long time) yet last season he hardly got a game and is now being looked at by Coventry City.
The question is, has he found his natural level?
Bear in mind that the team last season was more or less the same as the one that he shone in the season before.
The others have kicked on, he seems to have stood still.
It doesn’t seem logical that he should suddenly be unable to get a place in the side. Particularly as the alternatives haven’t really set the World on fire.
Is it attitude, ability or just the fact that he’s fallen out of favour with KJ?
Any thoughts would be welcome.
In my humble opinion it might have something to do with his attitude, sometimes seems to give the impression that he is god’s gift etc. That probably led to his falling out of favour with KJ. That being said I have always liked him and recollect that a few times last season wondered what he had done wrong on these exalted pages.
Not having seen him much, living over here in the backwoods of Wildwest Texas, I can only speckerlate.
As far as I can see, KJ has only made one glaring mistake, and that was Clarke.
Upon his appointment, he immediately endeared himself to me by ignoring the likes of Ward, Johnson, O’Hairless and one or two others.
By having a failure, he is even better in my estimation, as he has proved himself to be human, but has learned from his mistake.
Therefore, with regards to Jacob, ( or is it Regarding Henry, no, that was a movie) I will assume that KJ knows best, has very good reasons not to play him, and we will move forward accordingly.
There arte those critics who say KJ cant manage above the second division, blah, blah, blah, but until he has tried, how does anyone know?
Bollocks to the naysayers, I want KJ to have his shot with us, in The Prem, coz that will mean we’ve got what we all want…..PROMOTION!!!
But of course, greasel wants us to be a good second division mainstay, so he can spend more time lording it on the bored to which he has recently slimed himself.
FOg
I was also a huge Jacobs fan in Div 1, preferred him to Henry any day.
Moving into Championship I was very surprised as was Tipton Exile said with, “his better than you attitude” whereas Henry turned it on at that level Jacobs aon occassion reminded me of Leon. Role reversal.
Kenny takes no prisoners.
Starting to get that deja vu feeling as precious little transfer activity thus far and the only names being mentioned all seem to be bargain basement or freebies. Jamie Paterson – good enough? Chris Wood – good enough? Austin from Leeds – good enough? In my opinion none of them are the level we should be considering. Not what I’d hoped for after going close last season and having dispensed with all the high earners as I really thought we’d ‘go for it’ this time and see the need of joining the Money League asap before the chasm becomes unbridgeable. Beginning to think the £275,000 for Wallace might be the only cash we splash which, if it is, sums up the ambition and interest and desire of Mr Morgan. Hope I am wrong!
When you look around, there doesn’t seem to have been so much activity anywhere yet. Bakary hasn’t signed any dotted lines and no one has come in for Nouha, but that doesn’t mean they’ll still be here when the window closes. Likewise the fact we’ve only signed Jed doesn’t mean that’ll be the sum of our signings this window. Early days my friends, early days.
Tis good news indeed that Dicko has signed a three year contract extension.
Hi, ho, ho
It’s magic,
You know,
Dicko, Afobe………………………….?
I accept we can’t afford to shop at Harrods or Fortnum & Mason but would have hoped we were at least window shopping at Waitrose instead of looking through the ‘reduced to clear’ shelves at Lidl and Netto.
Oh oh oh It’s magic,
You know
Dicko Afobe …Don’t know.
I am still trying to work out Lucy Tupper – perhaps its my sheltered upbringing.
At least Clive knows his station.
Hopefully more than one new and one extension signing before the season starts.
The trains in Houston only run in and out of Downtown, more trams than anything.
There is an Amtrak station somewhere in town, but I’m buggered if I know where it is, or it’s name, so sorry to disappoint, but I don’t know my station.
Can we please have a new thread, something into which we can get our teeth?
If not, I might have to come up with something special from the cesspit of memories that passes for my brain!!
FOwb & g
Iv’e been thinking a little above my station recently, but I have to sayI do know where it is.
When I first started at Molineux we used the train from Penkridge into Wolverhampton Low Level. Looks like I stayed there in the Low Level.
Those were the days my freind.
Shame about McDonald going to sign for Fulham for £1 million.
A steal if ever there was one.
🙁
http://the72.co.uk/29837/fulham-bid-for-wolves-mcdonald/
Mcdonald to Fulham for £1 million, someone must be having a laugh.
Great news about Dicko and that he has now nailed his colours to the mast. I’m no fan of Morgan or moxey but also well done to them for securing him on a new deal. Let’s hope we see some new signings over the line before pre season games as the first window of them being in before pre season training has been missed.
I have great respect for Nouah Dicko.
I don’t know what his new contract is worth but you can bet your life he could have earned more elsewehere.
He seems to have genuine affection for the club – and it’s reciprocated from me certainly and most fans I would guess.
Not there this year for lots of reasons, one of which was the removal of several varicose veins from my left leg yesterday, but I was watching the highly charged but very small mosh-pit at Glastonbury for Motorhead on the telly last night.
More of a mosh-pothole really. Pun intended.
Was there a long queue before your operation…………………were you waiting in vein??
Get a life, Clive
Sorry to hear that you’ve been hospitalised my friend. I know what’s it’s like as have recently had my 3 days in hospital. Get well soon mate .. I’m sure it will be worth it in the course of time.
Cheers mate!
I’m fine, I hope your hospital experience was satisfactory too and that you both had a great time down under.
See you at the Park View.
Echo plaudits for Nouah could have run his contract down for a wage auction. That last match i wasnt clapping Sako so much as his modest friend who was leading the applause. I hope Kenny uses him wisely next season. Incidentally also my Moms favourite always asks if Dicko scored.
Lucy Bronze at it again
England ladies in semi final
I for one am very proud to be English, and of them
Ignore these girls at your peril
Two more wins and World Champions
I
Stayed up to watch the game at silly o’clock and really enjoyed it, young Lucy played really well as did most of her team mates. Far more entertaining than watching England male team go out with no wins from three, and certainly better that England U 21’s male team win one in three playing some pretty poor football.
Of the three, the ladies certainly gave more effort and now face Japan on Wednesday in the Semi final.
We want five.
Five for Clive
Those last few minutes were a bit tense though. Canada definitely had the best of the play but were rubbish at taking their chances. We looked dangerous whenever we had the ball around their box and I thought the first goal was a brilliant strike.
I love watching womens football, especially the bit about balls around their box!!!
RED CARD!!!!
The 250th comment!
Give us one of yer poems to mark the occassion Robin.
Come on England..!
Embarrassing how good they are..
I think they all ought to play bra-less..
I was about to castigate you for blatant sexism, but it’s just the same as the men’s team, I guess. 😉
I’ve seen a few men play over the years who certainly SHOULD have worn bras.
I’ll start the ball rolling:-
Micky Quinn
Mark Bosnich
Francis Lee
Over to you lot.
Maradona.(cheatin’ git).
Elton John, he played in a charity match at The Mol a hundred years ago, or something.
Rachel “Hi Ho Wolverampton” Flint.
greasel, he’s a big girls blouse, and he “played” in goal once, sort of.
Piggy Wharton.
I would suggest barrel chested Skipper Mike Bailey, but he could still probably smash my face in.
And of course the few I would LIKE to see playing in bras, and Wolves shorts,
Jennifers Lawrence, Anniston and Lopez, Ashley Judd, etc, etc, etc
That list is endless
Oh, and of course Mrs CFH
Have a nice day, y’all

StuWolf – if only the great man in your picture was around now eh? Imagine the master magician Waggy flying down the left wing with those skinny little ankles, mesmerising defenders, cracking an inch perfect cross field pass and rifling in the occasional 30 yard screamer. I have never met you but I like you already, you have stirred a Golden moment in my mind and brought a croaky lump to my throat, you also painted a wonderful download in my mind of the great man turning defenders inside out with his magic.
“Skinny Ankles” how spot on was that statement, I used to say he was a thoroughbred racehorse in amongst Carthorse wingers of his era.
I travel home and away meeting with Brompton & Steve Showcase and others on occasion along the way, if ever we meet I will buy you the most gladly given pint for brining the memories back.
I took my wife and Clemens to the Wolves Museum on the Sunday after the Millwall home game and there is a video of Waggy tearing people apart in rain, snow and shine, I have to admit, It made an old guy cry and the pleasure it brought rolling back. Best £6 I ever spent.
Thank you again, for the best post I have seen to date.

Thank you
StuWolf – careful now or I’ll bore you with the story of when I met Waggy when he was running a sports & social club bar courtesy of Stewart Ross’s (anyone remember him?) brother. Would love to meet up with you guys sometime and take you up on the offer of the pint – probably an away game where the drink doth tend to flow somewhat (dont mention Forest away last season though as I can confidently state that bitter, lager, red wine and brandy do NOT mix!) and am going to Preston away 26 September if you lads are.
We’re on a new thread now but I will answer this in case.
I am cycling Lands End to John O’Groats in 3 weeks and miss the Blackburn away game, then my good lady is taking me to Vegas and Oregan to recover in September, guess what, I don’t get back until 26th so Preston is a no go. But we shall be going to everything else.
Bad Planning on the wifes part.
I will be at Preston mate. email me at stevelbiles@hotmail.com and we can arrange to meet up prior to the game.
Ray hankin at the end of his career at wolves in the 80s certainly needed a bra.

Check out the Wolves site……..
Toaster was there tooooooo
46 league games to go..78 points needed prob 84 for Auto..could afford to loose 8-10 matches…win at home draw away..can’t see that with our open play and on the break..
It’s all down to how many we concede
Adobe leading goal scorer …Dicko the important one ..please don’t get injured…
Looks like Steers to hold the fort ..Hause instrumental in our defence DB who knows …Iorfa secret attacker
down the wing..
Wallace a lot on his shoulders..
Should be a good season..
At this rate Sako in the reserves …
I wonder……
My prediction 2nd or 3rd place..82 points…

Take a look at the Wolves website and there’s your answer, kenny is tutoring him. Jordan Graham is my name for the future. He could fill Sako’s boots any day. Sako was very hit or miss, this guy leans more to the hit than miss.
In Kenny we have to trust.
It must be a slow news day, I see the E&S is rehasing the story of Chris Woods, is he really worth £2m and do we want him anyway? Also the fact that Fulham, who???, want Mcdonald & Stearman, not even Morgan & Moxey are that money mad.
However the more interesting bit from my viewpoint is the fact that we are being primed, as usual, for a summer of no bloody transfer activity. Quote “Jackett warns fans not to expect a rash of signings this summer”. Same old short termism as far as I am concerned, when will they ever learn, we need more guile in midfield, if it is in the U21 squad, who is it? Any idea StuWolf?
Despite my gloom I would predict automatic promotion but not as winners this season I am afraid.
Reading that Chris Wood has chosen Leeds over us! What a plonker and if its true then he DEFINITELY should wear a bra. Obviously if he does join us then I don’t mean that.
