There are many reasons Wolves supporters should be excited about Walter Smith reportedly being offered the chance to take over for the remainder of the season.
These are 5 of them.

1. He’s a winner
With a career win percentage of 57%, Smith would bring a winning mentality to the dressing room, which is something we desperately need for this final push.
Yes, those figures are inflated by dominating the SPL for so long with Rangers, but even in his least successful position at Everton he won a third of his games, which is roughly what he’ll need to achieve at Molineux, albeit with a handful of draws thrown in for good measure.
2. He’s done it before
In a two year spell as manager of Scotland, Smith was immediately able to galvanise a group of average players who’d failed miserably under Berti Vogts.
They famously beat France at Hampden Park and climbed 70 places in the FIFA rankings before he left the position to rejoin Rangers.
This encourages me that he brings the motivational skills and tactical nous to alter our fortunes in a relatively short period of time.
3. He’s experienced
34 years as a manager tells me that Smith has seen and done it all before.
As does the fact he’s managed internationally as well as in the Champions League.
So is anyone better positioned to come up with solutions to the many problems facing this struggling Wolves side?
Yes, a younger candidate might well have come with greater enthusiasm, but in our dire situation an older head that won’t panic if things don’t immediately come good might well be crucial.
4. He’s respected

The players will instantly trust and respect a man like Walter Smith, which is precisely what we need.
Instant focus and concentration.
Someone like Lee Clark, who is renowned for being outspoken and confrontational may not have been received quite so well.
5. He has a point to prove
The fact that many supporters seem so dead against his proposed appointment, even on such a short term deal, is probably what whetted his appetite for the challenge.
Despite his many successes in Scotland, some critics still believe he hasn’t proven himself south of the border after a mixed spell at Everton.
If he can drag Wolves to safetly, it would surely put these nagging doubts to bed once and for all?
He’ll be desperate to do that.
So if, and it is still very much an ‘if’, Walter Smith does agree to see us home this season, it’s imperative we back him to the hilt.
The time for assessing whether the two Ms made the correct appointment or a terrible mistake is Sunday May 13th, not Thursday February 23rd.
I think we can all agree on that.

Not a done deal yet guys..
Now they are talking to Dave Jones and Terry Conner on taking it until the end of the season.
According to Tim Nash..
This is probably in case Smith turns em down on the short term as well.
Moxley OUT !!
Spoken like an Idiot, Moxey is a busnessman and doing a good job for Wolves i suppose if you had lots of money you would let all the Wolves fans spend it, then we would be in trouble
This is wrong. Mick had to go, but you can’t think anyone in their right mind will commit to Wolves when you will only commit for 13 games. Any hiring has to be given this year plus a transfer window or two.
Moxey is not a bussiness man, what planet do you live on mate he’s a fat greedy B*^$!”D who only purpose in life is to con and fleece as much out of the fans as posible to keep up his SIX FIGURE SALARY I work with some Stoke fans ask them what they think of Moxey, and its funny how well they’ve pogressed since he left established in Prem: paying the going rate for Prem: players how many £10,000,000 pound players have Wolves brought. YOU MUPPET
Its obvious that i am on a different planet to you mate, i run my own business and it could not sustain spending huge amounts of my money just to satisfy the ego of my workforce so why do you think that the Wolves can, any business has to be run on a sound footing. Dont you think that the going rate for established prem players show that they are the greedy BA**T**DS not the club.
Come on mate show some common
Spoken like an idiot!
Every business in the country could not sustain doing that, we all know it..
We also know Premier league Football is unlike any other business in the country as we have seen when clubs have gone bust, but still have to honour players contracts and wages first.
Morgan has to make a choice, Does he want to invest the money needed to stay in the premier league, or become another Championship club.. I believe its the second option. What else could explain the reasons for perfectly good respected managers turning the job down.
As For Moxey being a businessman, maybe, but given this latest mess he wouldn’t get a job in our business, maybe you could do us a favour and employ him in your business.
Sounds like you would both get on very well..
Now that would be showing some common mate..
Your coment “As we have seen when clubs go bust” Is that what you want for Wolves then just to satisfy what you and a few other Wolves fans want.
I want us to be in the Premier League but i also want Wolves to be on a sound footing, dont forget we nearly went out of business before because of stupid spending on the Steve Bull Stand and interest rates.
Who you going to get into our club to spend big money? Abramovich
I think Walter Smith isn’t a bad shout but struggling to see him be that motivated having semi-retired from Rangers
In my opinion we should be consdiering PAUL INCE, former player of ours with plenty of experience
Would someone please drop the hint to Mr Morgan. No-one any good is going to be interested in a 3 month contract, doomed to failure. Does he really think Curbs wants a failure to keep Wolves up stat on his CV any more than anyone else does. Does he think McDermott would give up his job for 3 months job security.. No-one except the desperate Brucie would and hes gonna give it up soon, even he isn’t that desperate. SM you need to swallow your pride and backtrack and make a sensible offer to Curbs and stop making us all look like a bunch of Wally’s
I’m afraid morgan as lost the plot he’s sacked mm and he’s the only manager who could have saved us from relegation.with no any good premier managers left who would want take on a job noing morgan interferers with the ongoing managers job.p.s. I’m afraid we should have stopped with mm.after all he kept us in the premiership.
Now Walt has turned us down ithink is time to go to PLAN Z and that is give it Brucie who knows he might even keep us up ? I MUST BE DRUNK ” im tired and i want to go to bed i had a little drink about an hour ago and its gone right to my head, oh show me the way to go home…………………………
Sky Sports reporting Smith has turned us down also.
Moxley OUT !!
Are you sure it wasn’t the question if he don’t wanted to become manager as a fulltime job at Wolves he turned down? Another sources claims Smith is positive to a 13 matches appointment.
He would be an excellent choice for such a short period of time. I think you’re spot on Thomas. And I also think Dave Jones could do a good job for Wolves. He plays a style of football I like – direct.
All this speculation is down to Moxey and Morgan if they would just come out and be truthfull about who has who would do the job and for how long they would be seen in a better light. But all this we don’t discuse our bussiness in public makes them look stupid and amateurist when the truth is finally revealed. Open and honest ownership was what Morgan proclaimed when he took over. Well how many times have you heard that from a scouscer
Moxey went in to asda and saw an old lady fall and started to get up he went to her aid and said can you manage love, and she replied you must be fucking joking i would’nt take that job on ! Pe managers job.mm was abloody
Everton would be considered his only ‘failure’ but there was a major breakdown in communication between him and the board, if I understood the situation correctly
He’s done well otherwise but has had more money to spend – more than what Wolves will offer him. That being said though, I think Smith should get a shot – at the very least there’ll be no backlash from fans which is the danger with Steve Bruce!
Just put the bloody Newcastle preview up already. It’s about time we had a blog that wasn’t out of date as soon as it was published!!
wow someone got out the wrong side this morning.
This situation / debate is what every wolves fan is having at the moment. Thomas and Ben are giving us info as it comes available and a forum in which to debate it. No matter how much we dislike the situation, as fans and people with obviously too much time on their hands / a job we don’t like, we wish to talk and argue about it.
And whats the preview going to say? We’re shafted and newcastle have been brilliant. FIngers crossed for a miracle!
Hi Sam,
Well, if the Newcastle preview says what you predict it will, then it’s still going to have more substance than “5 things you never knew about some bloke who’s turned us down”. But you’re right of course. I am bitter, twisted, and I just want to see some football. Even if it’s Clipboard Connor-managed football!
Smith would be my second choice behind Curbs. His negative stoic football wouldn’t be pretty but could see us grind out the results we so desperately need. As you say his experience means he has the tactical nous and gravitas to raise our players above themselves.
I cant see it happening though. His experience will also mean he can see what a pair a of idiots are conducting our interviews from a mile off.
It’ll be TC for the remaining 13 games, relegation and new start in the summer.
I’m currently extremely pissed off about the whole situation, god knows what the atmosphere is going to be like at the Newcastle game. The only thing that is coming from this is that MM reputation is growing considering the amount of success he had at the club despite the idiots behind the scenes.
We have been snubbed by so many i would look favourably now on anybody prepared to take it on – there are lessons to be learned from this – if things dont work out we will have to rebuild but hope we get behind the team for the rest of the season.
Apparently Smith has turned us down according to Sky Sports…
It’s like a perverted version of ten green bottles, this – Ten Football Managers, more like!
Hamlet to paraphrase Shakespeare:
‘There is something rotten in the state of Wolverhampton Wanderers.’
“Once more unto the Market, dear friends, once more unto the Market!”
*sighs*
And he turns it down too…
walter smith would be a very safe pair of hands at a time when experience and stability are required. If he does the 13 games then why can’t a second be appointed as well who has the chaance to prove himself? – alex Rae?, Carl Robinson etc – someone who has Wolves at heart and not just a journeyman
Walter Smith is far from the worst candidate, particularly for a short term deal.
Am I alone in thinking Dave Jones wouldn’t be a bad move either, at least for the short term? I think Dave did sterling work at the club. I don’t think it was his fault that we didn’t survive his season as manager in the Prem. We all know if difficult to stay up there, even if you have got a pot of money to spend.
Above all I’m deeply worried by the way things are going on the manager front. While an awful lot of what has been written is speculation, it does seem that we are struggling to find a candidate that will take on the roll and keep the majority of fans content. I know that Curbishley was my man from the start and I struggle to accept that Wolves could not convince him that our long term plans were good enough. It doesn’t bode well for our Premiership future.
Can we please have some guesses as to who is next to be approached..
Mick must be laughing his head off..
Moxley OUT !!!!
Dave Jones would be a ridiculous appointment and quite staggering considering he was sacked for taking us down. What time of moron interviews someone for a job when you have already worked with the guy for years previously? It is a total joke. Why do fans suddenly think Jones would do well, do people forget his legacy, his expenditure on 28 year olds and then leaving us languishing in the championship!
WHy is experience so highly thought of? If your experience is of failure – Wolves sacked, Cardiff sacked, how can this matter? Makes my blood boil people’s obsession with experience.
Don’t suppose the fact that Hayward under funded Wolves that season had anything to do with relegation then ? That on top of losing Lescott and Murray for the season. (well season less 45 minutes in Murrays case) 28 year olds ? Give me Rae, Ince and Cameron in midfield to the shite we have at the moment. Still they put in a shift don’t they ?
I agree that he had limited funds but the season before he had record funds and he spanked it on shite like Newton, Kennedy, Blake, Roussell, Butler, Miller, Colin Cameron. Are you for real? We finished bottom of the league and sure he was under funded, but he was massively over funded in the championship. What happened the season after with Olofinjana and Seol? 16th in the championship and sacked. That team that finished bottom of the league cost more than Mick’s team. He has just failed at Cardiff as well. Are you seriously telling me Dave Jones is the man to lead us now? COME ON! THIS IS A JOKE!
Its all about opinions Dan. We need someone to keep us up. Transfer markets closed.
Jones and Clipboard are about the best we’re gonna get. By the way if Paul Butler was shite how do you rate Berra and Johnson ?
Sorry Dan just wanted to add that Jones would obviously not be a choice beyond this season and I agree with you to a certain extent that he did have a blemished record. What really pissed me off is when he brought back Paul Jones and dropped Michael Oakes. Think that cost a few points.
My Concern now is what effect is all this having on the players….
No one wants to manage them.. How does that make em feel.
It will spur them on to do better or they might not bother turning up..
Moxley is an embarrassment to this club, just who does he think he is…
Way out of his league I’m afraid wouldn’t get a shout in my workplace..
Moxley OUT !!!
I see Chelski’s Abrahimovich has been in talks with Benitez.
I think we should go for Sven Goran Eriksson. When he took the job in the championship for Leicester, which he did ok for with 43 percent wins, he also could be interested in managing Wolves. Remember over 50 percent wins in his career in 905 matches would almost guarantee us from relegation – statistacally.
Just checked-Walters said no. Greaseball won’t speak to media-we are officially plumbing new depths of absolute incompetence.
FROGREASYANGMOORGOON
Steve Bull has now been asked to do the PR work for us..
http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2012/02/23/smiths-experience-would-be-a-priceless-commodity/?
Moxley OUT !!!!!
It’s Moxey, not Moxley.
Thanks Rob, I could never spelll.. Makes me an ideal candidate for the England managers job!!
Moxey OUT !!!!
and Moxley whoever he is…
I’m as frustrated as any fan over the managerial situation and it appears Moxey and Morgan had absolutely no plan for recruiting a new manager after sacking Mick.
Nige, you might want to consider throwing your name into the hat.
Here’s Moxley!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2105433/Wolves-manager-search-farce–The-Midlander.html
OMG that’s bullsh*t
Every manager in the country that now gets a call from Moxey knows they aren’t really wanted anyway.
Nobody wants it now because of the unprofessional, incompetent way it’s been handled.
Still no official comment on mangerial situation on WW website; I though it was there to keep the fans up to date with club issues – obviously not.
The conditions Morgan and Moxey are insisting upon for next season are putting people off.
I dont believe anyone has been offered a job, M&M always keep any info in house and i think a surprise is on the cards, oh by the way Souness stayed in Wolverhampton yesterday does anyone think he has been offered the job, turned it down i suppose
Faceless Greaseball getting Bully to do his dirty work-this is beyond a joke-SACK GREASEBALL NOW!
Blur-let’s hope he is buying the club from Morgoon and sacking Greaseball at the same time.
Good news is
Redrow have announced Profits are up 80%..
Ah well everything is OK then……..
Smith has turned us down again, what a bloody joke this has become….
IWe don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes but it all reeks of classless desperation. That’s what M&M lack – class.
Speaking of class I hope Sir Jack, as lifelong President, steps in and has a strong word or two with Mr. Laurel and Mr. Hardy.
Ray Wilkins is the man, give him the long term position and funding., he will turn Wolves around to a good Premier team. We are currently headed for a struggle to stay in the Championship!
Are you sure???? Ray wilkins couldn’t manage a under 8’s side. For God’s have a little ambition.
On a lighter note-Lunchtime O’Bruce’s Survival Dossier -remember that-hasn’t gone down too well then has it? It seems a lifetime ago. My Mrs is getting cheesed off saying I’m obsessed and I am about what those two jokers are doing to the reputation of my team.
Thomas, you forgot to mention the most important reason why Smith would be good…he speaks Scottish, which would make him much more easily understood than the Yorkshireish McDickhead spouts!!!
What a joke!!!! Why oh why are we even releasing that weve offered the job? Surely it shouldve been done in confidence…so that it doesnt make us look ridiculous if turned down!
Moxey OUT!
Totally agree Fred and if Jez Moxey is truly totally responsible for all these releases, reports and rumours (which you would expect him to be as CEO) then he should consider his position as, at best it makes us look inept and at worst (as you say) it makes us look ridiculous.
Now looks like three options left at present:
Clipboard for 13 weeks then think again
Brucie – if he is still interested!
Big climb down by SM and back to Curbs
I personally don’t like the look of any of them but if I was to pick one it would be Curbishley.
Summed up appropriately by Martin Swain
https://twitter.com/#!/MartinSwain1/status/172691620263755778
Smiths comments on rejecting Wolves are pretty telling.
“I was totally unsure whether I really wanted to do it or not. It was a purely personal thing, nothing to do with Wolves. I know Jez Moxey (Wolves chief executive) and knew I was more of a fall-back than anything. We didn’t even get as far as discussing money.
“There was never a face-to-face meeting and we never discussed finance. If someone asks you, you’re pleased to be asked, but the longer you think about it, you start to ask yourself whether it was right.”
Is any manager in their right mind going to take it now they know they wern’t first, second or fifth choice. For trying to keep it behind closed doors Moxey and Morgan have done a great job of letting everyone know who we were after.
For christ’s go to Curb’s offer him whatever he wants to come and get our bloody first choice manager in.
If any CEO of a large corporation behaved as Moxey had over the last six months, he/she would have been sacked.
1) Failure to deliver on a promised project after multiple claims to the press
2) Insulting key stakeholders and customers in a meeting
3) Delivering such and aggressive profit making and cost cutting strategy that the product itself is failing in the market and the company now faces a downgrading and severe reputational risk
4) Failure to spot key personnel issues within the organisation, before acting too late without sufficient succession planning in place
I hate talking about footabll like it’s a business, but as it’s what Morgan and Moxey do then they can’t argue with the above.
If we keep it to football terms then they’ve fucked that up to, because the football’s crap, the results are crap and the fans aren’t happy
Absolutely spot on!
Can we have the Newcastle review please? I’m sick to bloody death with this manager bollocks.
No manager.
No morale.
No news.
No left back (worth the name)
No faith in the owner/ceo.
Loss of face across the whole football spectrum.
laffin stock in the eyes of all other fans.
Recipe for disaster.
We will probably go up there and stuff them a la Bully/News Years Day.
Three easiest points of the season!!!
It’s been two weeks, nearly, since that debacle against the shit.
I don’t get any grief over here, shit, most Texans don’t even know where England is, let alone “Hampton.
So, I for one am over it, and right behind the lads for Saturday’s trip to NearlyScotland.
Fuck ’em all, we are Wolves!!!
COME ON ME BABBEEZ !!!!!
Yawn! I’ve just woken up and my wife has told me that Wolves haven’t got a manager yet! Can’t believe it. I’m off to sleep again.
Sorry to mention another forum guys, but the revised poll on vital wolves has Mick McCarthy way out in front with 75% of the vote. Dave Jones second with 13%.
Hodgson was right, maybe he knew more about the backroom staff at our club than we did. We should have been careful what we wished for.
We are officially screwed with these mugs in charge.
Told you so.
Bring back Mick.
Absolutely pathetic this is!!! It’s actually embarrassing now watching the report on Ssn and even more alarming that Conner is second fav and wants the job,MOXEY out!!!!!!!!
Why did they not, if they appoint Bruce or Connor, do so 10 days ago?
One of the reasons to get rid of McCarthy was to get rid of Connor.
It make absolutely no sense to appoint him.
As for Bruce has he no pride?
Finally have the fans, the supporters of Wolves, been considered in this fiasco or the players?
No.
The dalliance by these two idiots, will cost us even the possibility of 3 points on Saturday.
This situation can only be described as embarrassing.
Walter smith has just texted me to say there was no way he was going to give up his chain of butchers shops to manage wolves..
Moxey OUT!!!!!
Money coming in for Steve Bruce again whoever takes the job now probably deserves some backing.
Quite simply a fuckin shambles. Unless we appoint Jose Mourinho now, weasel and moron have lost all faith and support of the fans.
Truly embarrassing.
Shambolic management from the board. MM was losing his way recently but sacking him with only 13 games to go and nobody any better already lined up! What a way to run a business. We will be relegated for sure.
6. He won’t touch Wolves with a barge pole
Let TC have a go until the end of the season. If not, then bring back Mick McCarthy.
Jez and Steve are looking like numpties…
I’m embarrassed to talk about it now…
I bet Jez and Steve are happy we are playing away the next two games.
Be positive 6 points in the bag, worries over !!!!!
TC in the job long term.
Mr Redrow and Mr DNA smugger ( is there such a word ?? ) than ever.
Dream on !!!
Up the Wolves !!!
Oh how wrong you can be…
TC’s the man for me. Great decision.
Who is your money on now guys…???
There will be some-one in place before the Newcastle match. The new man will have proven PL experience and he will have the correct DNA. What a joke!!!!!
We’re on the 15th choice candidate whoever that is and there’s 13 games till the inevitable happens. TC has PL experience, of sorts and he has the right DNA so now it’s time to stop the sniping and the -ve jibes and get behind him. Let’s give him the support he needs to give it his best shot not forgetting of course that the players themselves must now stand up and be counted and show an honest days graft.
Maybe then we can look for a new CEO with the correct DNA for next season.
Up the Wolves !!!!
may aswell have the chuckle brothers running the show,I’ve already said if it’s Bruce I will never go to another game that’s how pissed off I am with this shambolic fiasco!! Is it me or what is the logic in sacking Mick and replacing him with Bruce?? Someone please tell me!!!
They tell me Morgan was out of the country for the last home game..
Can’t see either of the idiots coming to the Blackburn game.
Where are they now ???
Clearly can’t make statements to the public or press because of the mess they have made.
Mick, the club, the staff, the players and the fans all deserve better than this.
Moxey OUT…….
What next for the Chuckle Brothers managerial merry go round ?
From Bruce to Curbishley from Curbishley back to Bruce, from Curbishley to Smith, from Smith back to Bruce from Bruce back to who ever.
The Chuckle Brothers LOL, you couldn’t make it up, unbelievable!!!!!
Lets start the Bring back Mick McCarthy campaign. Right here, right now,
What do you say Clive…
We don’t really mean it, but its as good as anything the 2 M’s can come up with…
Moxey OUT !!!!!!
We dont need Mick back, I really liked him but he lost his way.
We need to stop messing around now and get someone in not for 13games but for good.
Is that THE Paul R?! Bookies now stopping the bets on Brucie…!
Its the Paul R for manchester, if we get brucie we are down, he plays boring foitball.
Maybe Redknapp could do it part time
It is for sure pretty embarrassing and it is now very clear to me why we do not attract players to the Mol.
A business vision and plan is important of course it is, but clealry something is very wrong with the way we go about things. We have obviously been talking to some pretty professional people but unable to strike a deal.
We are becoming a laughing stock.
Mick had to go and months ago to be honest. Clearly the two Ms were in their comfort zone with Mick. He had the DNA and more importantly undemanding.
I wanted Curbs, would have supported Warnock short term. Smith would have been safe.
A succesful Championship guy would also have been OK. Cant beleive anyone considers Ince proven great player yes but Manager? Bruce would be a disaster but whats left.
Unlike some Dave Jones wouldnt upset me. He lost two key players and was underfunded in the Prem. I think he has something to prove.
Morgan to Moxy: ” What now?”
Moxey: “Sven has a v in his name just like Wolves has a v. I like v’s. V is a nice letter. Let’s call Sven”
Some reports that they are talking to Dave Jones i lost faith in him before we went up through the play offs but i know some Wolves fans liked his style of football.
Dave Jones to me is, at best, a stop gap (as is TC……….)
Is the Curbishley deal really dead and buried?…..He was the first choice and in my opinion remains the only really credible option.
I’d love to know what the sticking points were in that negotiation.
(It’s been said before but can”visions” be that different?)
Dave Jones to me is a step backward. We need to move forward now we should have done this months ago. Joke
Time to get behind TC and the lads…they’ll be on that coach by one today- give them something positive to read on the journey up brilliant wolves bloggers!
I’ve been reading these blogs for a while now, taken the plunge and am joining in, hoping it’s not a female free zone.
Welcome aboard! Any experience of managing a football team???
Good stuff on 5Live, Thomas!
What was that? Is there a link?
Nothing official on Twitter yet, but Dave Jones name is now being banded around in the papers.
Didn’t we sack him ??
Moxey OUT!!!
Whether it’s ex-wives or ex-managers (remember Bill McGarry’s second spell?) NEVER go back; always move on !!
Now Zola has turned us down…
Wait for it…..Glen Roeder has been interviewed………
Looks like it’s TC
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/feb/24/terry-connor-appointed-wolves-manager?newsfeed=true
TC given job to end of season-mentioned several times as an option.
UTW
FOGREASEY
AND
MORGOON
If this turns out to be fact get behind me in the queue to buy next seasons Man City shirt.
DOOOOOOOMMMMMEEEEDDDDD
But I would like to eat my words in a few weeks time.
I have taken a good look at the next 13 games and UNLESS there is a DRAMATIC change in our style and approach I can’t see enough points to stay up, and all my mates say i’m the opomistic one.
Here is an interesting article, mentions figures and the bonus offered.
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Wolves-exclusive-Caretaker-manager-Terry-Connor-may-stay-in-charge-until-end-of-season-after-Walter-Smith-rejects-job-article869472.html
To be honest we should be offering a lot more for anyone who could succesfully keep us up. New academy is all fine and well but surely it should fit alongside a well managed transfer policy. Just craziness!
Best of luck to Terry Connor, but can he actually bring anything new to the table? Will his managing style be any different than Mick’s?
We’ll just have to wait and see tomorrow but it does seem at least that the board stayed away from Bruce…
Probably the only decision that could be made at this time …….at least it is a decision so perhaps we can focus on the game at Newcastle.
GOOD LUCK TO TC AND THE BOYS
COME ON YOU WOLVES!!!!!!!!
Its official.
TC until the end of the season!
http://www.wolves.co.uk/page/News/0,,10307~2622201,00.html
Is this what the two numpties had in mind when they sacked Mick?
With a change of direction needed they bring in his assistant.
With experience a must they appoint someone with little or none.
I hope to be proven wrong but this does not appear a good move.
What a shambles this has been – it couldn’t have ended any other way.
“Since we made the difficult decision to part company with Mick, we have been through a diligent process of assessing potential candidates,” said Chairman Steve Morgan.
“Having spoken to a number of people we have drawn that process to a close and myself and the Board are unanimous that Terry is the right man to lead the Club for the remainder of the season”.
Obviously our first choice all the time!!!!
So its TC until the end of the season – I know Moxey and Morgan are our pantomine villans and we all have to hiss when they come on stage but i would like to read more analysis – one thing that is mentioned is the ground redevelopment it may have been done differently but it is a worthwhile objective. No club is taken seriously that cant house a 30,000 plus crowd (there biggest critics are also the ones that wanted McCarthy out at any price).
“Since we made the difficult decision to part company with Mick, we have been through a diligent process of assessing potential candidates,” said Chairman Steve Morgan.
“Having spoken to a number of people we have drawn that process to a close and myself and the Board are unanimous that Terry is the right man to lead the Club for the remainder of the season”
No change then except we’ve only got half the managerial team that we had before. And no change to the smug, self-satisfied attitude. It sounds like they’re expecting congratulatuions! Everybody who knows anything about football knows they have made themselves and the club a complete laughing stock. But as usual they don’t feel obliged to explain their actions or make any form of apology.
It sort of reminds me of a couple of tin pot dictators who never have to take responsibility for their actions or admit the truth.
I think we all see now where the real problems lie at our club.
