There’s a fair few things going on at Wolves Blog at the moment, so I thought I’d do a post just to tell you about them and ask for some feedback.
First things first, you might have noticed the odd SportingBet.com advert on some of the pages. The reason for this is that they contacted me last week and asked if I’d be interested in working with them to promote their site. In return, they’ve offered to send me Wolves tickets, shirts and whatever else they can get so I can offer them up as prizes for various competitions on the site. I think that’s very cool and it gives me the chance to reward some of the loyal readers and contributers to the blog.
A final reminder now about the Wolves Blog Fantasy Football. If you haven’t entered already, you can find details about how to by clicking here. Entry closes next Friday ahead of the first game of the season the following day. I can’t let people enter later as that would be unfair to those already registered. Remember, it’s free and there will be some excellent Wolves-related prizes on offer for the winner and runners up.
An idea I had a few weeks ago was to Live Blog from the matches. What this means is that I’ll be using my mobile phone to give live text updates from the home matches (and some of the away ones I get to), which will appear on the site as I send them. So if you can’t get to the West Ham match, why not log-on to Wolves Blog to get my take on the game as it happens. I don’t know how well this will actually work, so the first game of the season will be a bit of guinea pig in that respect.
Another suggestion that we’re going to run with is to choose the Wolves Blog ‘All Time Greatest Wolves XI’. This will work by you sending us your nominations for players in every position. We’ll then do a poll each week to pick a player and by the end, we should have something like the best XI as chosen by the fans. Ben thought we should only pick players from the last 20 years as most of us haven’t seen the likes of Billy Wright, Bert Williams, etc play. It’s a fair point, so I’d be interested to hear everyone’s feedback on that.
Finally, just a big thank you to everyone who has contributed so far whether that be with an article, a comment, a suggestion or even just visiting. I’m astounded by how far the blog has come in such a short period of time.
Up The Wolves.
