This is a naff draw for Wolves.
With the team looking comfortable in midtable there’s no reason not to target the FA Cup. We could be serious contenders.
But an early round encounter with the league leaders puts our hopes of another trip to Wembley in serious jeopardy.
Both teams will field the reserves and their backup players are stronger than ours. We can make it through for sure, but it’s going to be really tough.
Woking at home would have done me just fine.
Fresh from their first defeat of the season it will be interesting to see how they react and the team Jurgen Klopp goes with at Molineux.
I doubt he’ll be quite as charitable as he was two years ago when we turned them over at Anfield in the fourth round, but I expect serious changes.
Players like Shaqiri, Sturridge, Lallana, Clyne and others on the periphery seem certain to start, but it’s who they pick around these guys that will be interesting and if any of the big guns are chosen.
Seems unlikely as they’ll be looking ahead to a big game at Brighton on Saturday where they’ll want to bounce back in the title race with three points.
But who knows?
They’ve got a strong squad so whoever plays will make it very tough for the opposition.
It’s a competition they haven’t won since 2006, which is a decent wedge of time for a club with their tradition.
Impossible to know what sort of team Nuno will go with for this one. He was very experimental in the League Cup giving youth team players debuts so nothing would surprise me on Monday.
Those who’ve been starved of game time like Ruddy, Dendoncker, Vinagre, Gibbs-White and Bonatini would seem certain to get a game.
Neves and Traore have been rotated in and out so guessing they might play having not got many minutes against Palace.
Still not sure if Jota is fit but would be good if we could ease him back into action in this one.
Not much change in the Prediction League table after the Palace defeat with vicsmith retaining a 3 point lead at the top.
As always, there are no points up for grabs in the cup competitions, so it’s just for fun.
I’d really like to see the lineups before making any sort of forecast but based on the teams I think we’ll see, expecting a close game that they might just edge something like 2-1.
That said, I think with the changes both teams will probably make the quality of their team reduces to a greater extent than ours so it should level the playing field and potentially give us a better chance than we had in the league a few weeks back.
Up The Wolves!
