Now that’s what I call a winter warmer.
Despite the hellish conditions, it was a delight to see Nuno’s men grind out a third win in succession against a talented opponent.

It’s the first time since 1980 that Wolves have managed that feat, and it’s tantalising to ponder on what record this team will break next.
But if our recent slump taught us anything, it’s that perspective is of paramount importance at this level.
And with unbeaten Liverpool up next, it’s probably best to keep our feet firmly planted on the floor for now.
Nonetheless, this was an impressive victory.
With both teams hampered by relentless wind and rain, it wasn’t quite the free-flowing contest you’d otherwise expect to see.
Both sides were sloppy in possession, and it was somewhat of a surprise when we took an early lead.
Some industrious work from Diogo Jota, coupled with abhorrent defending from the Cherries, conspired to hand Raul a fifth goal of the season.
Our Mexican number nine looks rejuvenated by the slightly re-jigged formation we’ve fielded since the Chelsea game, and was my personal man of the match today.
Jota’s recent resurgence has no doubt helped Raul’s cause, and it was a concern to see the diminutive forward go off at half-time. Hopefully we won’t be missing him for too long.
That seems unlikely, given that Jonny is back on the scene so shortly after being laid off with what looked a nasty knee injury.
I thought the Spaniard brought some much-needed balance to the defence today, which remained resolute throughout.
Bournemouth cause their opponents lots of trouble with a pass-and-go style that isn’t too dissimilar to our own, so a good rearguard performance was needed today.
The ability to soak up all of their pressure meant that a second goal was all that was needed to wrap this contest up, and that came in the dying embers thanks to some sumptuous counter-attacking.
Helder Costa continues to cut a frustrating figure so far this season but you’ll be hard pressed to find a better pass than the one he laid on for Cavaleiro’s late strike.
From beginning to last, the move was a thing of incisive, game-killing beauty.
If we can be that ruthless on a consistent basis, then the sky is the limit for this side.
But, like many of you, I’ll take seventh place and a point off Manchester United for the time being.
Back home. I was freezing with a number of layers and a warm coat, so I really did feel sorry for those out on the pitch today. What a result that was. Happy as a happy thing tonight. Can’t wait for Friday. Point taken from Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal and all 3 from Chelski, so why not Liverpool too.
Come on me babbies.
This win was just as big as the Chelsea win in my opinion as Wolves showed they could grind it out against a very good footballing side. Jimenez deserved the MOTM honors but Coady, Boly and Bennett were outstanding in the 2nd half. Great team effort and was so impressed with Saiss when he came on, he did exactly what was needed.
Costa infuriates me, not just his miss that could have been costly but I feel his work rate is poor. There is just no more excuses for his poor finishing. Neves worked his socks off but we are still missing that magic. Patricio’s kicking is poor but his shot stopping is so reliable.
Would have loved to see Traore come on and go right through Cook.
I can’t think of anything negative to say.
It is exactly what the Wolves family deserve.
Another spellbinding performance and a definite end to our poor run …. but wait for it …
… The start of our record breaking Premier League wins on the trot run….
Despite shocking inclement conditions… which were the same for both teams… the boys stuck to their shape, defended doggedly and finally killed off Cheatmouth’s attempts to land a late blow.
As frustrating as Costa can be … I praise him immensely for that classy 1-2 with Cav to send Cavaleiro galloping towards goal to bulge that net and finally kill off Bournemouth’s resistance…. and whilst Jimenez takes the plaudits my MOTM was Moutinho….
A massive 15/16 points clear of the bottom 3 with only 17 games played and surely the only way is UP….. staying up.
Who knows a marque signing or two in January could see us challenging for a European place …..
What’s not to like about football at the Mol…..
I’m with you ToffeeCrisp Fix! I thought Moutinho was awesome. In a game where we were generally wasteful in possession, he kept it way better than anyone. And his work rate was terrific. He sneaks my MOM.
Honourable mentions for Boly and Raul too. A terrific effort today. A beautiful Toffee Crisp at H/T. And a warm, near-Primal embrace when Cav bagged the second and we all went wild. It warmed the cockles of my heart! x
Hey Ben, I have to agree with “perspective” but I fear being 7th tonight we see a return to “we’ll be in Europe next year” brigade.
Today was another great win, another pleasing performance where we were as good without the ball as with it, another 3 points and again getting closer to that “40 points”.
Then & only then can we start dreaming big.
Raul was exceptional again today. To see him in the right back position on 80 mins & then leading the charge 2 minutes late is a credit to him but also the strides made but a proper coach & staff.
Long live this king & his band of merry men.
Just settling down with MOTD to watch that tackle on 1) Jota on 42 mins & that tackle on 2) Costa on 70 mins – talk about “you’re not fit to referee” poor ref that reflected more like Busta Bloodvessell than Luigi
Looking forward to a free hit against the League leaders on Friday
Top midlands team? Too fekin right & long may it continue.
De da de de derrr I’m lovin it! 🙂
Jimenez was absolutely immense!
Ryan Bennett was absolutely immense!
Morgan Gibbs-White was absolutely…
Well, I think you know where I’m going with this.
Horrible conditions but two good footballing sides managed to make an entertaining spectacle. Bournemouth had the edge on possession, but possession doesn’t mean anything unless you take full advantage of it.
They didn’t, we did!
No real weak links. The only real criticism I have is Patricio’s kicking, which seems to get worse every week. Perhaps John Ruddy could give him a few tips.
And what a way to seal the victory. There was never any doubt that Cav was going to slot that chance away. Thank goodness it didn’t fall to Costa.
Shame the early leavers missed it.
But when all is said and done, today, in my humble opinion, Jimenez came of age as the complete striker.
30 million quid?
Peanuts.
Doog,
I never want to talk bad of any of our players down, but confused why we continue to goal kick to the right flank. Either Doc nods on great, but if not on to a Wolves player a waste. If Doc doesn’t get to it, a waste. Or straight out, a waste. And when Costa is on he never puts any reasonable attempt to the aerial attack. We need to have a re-think on distribution from Rui.
Totally agree with this .Patricio is a fine shot stopper but in my book not a world class keeper as his distribution is appalling .
Jimenez was absolutely jimmense!
Man of the match for me? Without a shadow of a doubt my hero Big Willy.
The man is class, cool, unruffled always ready for the ball, great distribution and makes few mistakes.
You could give it to any of the back three, but it has to be Willy for me.
Liverpool next for the sword!
A great all round performance, culminating in a deserved win.
Up front Jimenez is increasingly looking to be the real deal and is much helped by the return to form of Jota. These two could well become a formidable duo.
At the back, the central three were awesome yet again, both individually and as a unit. Brilliant news that Ryan Bennett has now signed a new contract — the guy just flies under the radar, but produces outstanding performances week on week.
How good also to see Jonny back in the defense. Very solid — Boly looks even better with him protecting his left flank.
I have to say those unlucky souls who could tolerate the freezing cold, wet and blustery contitions no longer deserve the same medal as the rest of us that stayed. By eck it were cold, even my raspberry ripples were sticking out and I had many, many layers on. Those poor Johnny foreigners must have wondered what had hit them, by eck it were cold.
For me my MOTM has to be Bennett, after being skinned like a Arbroth Smokie (kipper) he dug in and made the left side his own, he stuck to his role like a limpet, (as did all the players to be fair), but he was brilliant after that initial incident.
In the concourse before ko, my mate Mick was telling me, there was a function that Bully attended the other night and he announced to the folks there, “we ain’t seen nothing yet”
Fosun will spend £60m + in the January window, then come next Summer we shall see a phase two the likes of which we have never seen at the Molineux. Upgrades in all departments to take us to the next level.
Not my words but Bully’s,
I want to believe this, it makes sense to me, we have seen some unbelievable work to take us from Grant Holt to Reuben Neves in the last 2 years.
I know what my Christmas wish is for 2018, a few weeks ago, (tongue in cheek) I listed my prediction on games we would win up to Tottenham, up to now after 3 games I’m sitting at 100% and hoping.
COMBambinos.
Bring on the Pool.
That victory was sweeter than any so far this season.
Once again, playing twelve men at times, and how clogger Cook stays on the pitch is a mystery, but every one giving their all.
Lousy weather, our continentals could have shivered into obscurity, but just like last winter, they played out of their skins and did themselves and us proud.
Dougan/Richards
Bull/Mutch
Jimenez/Jota
If we get the return from our latest dynamic duo that we got from our former heros, the sky is the limit.
Shit eating grin firmly back in place in Houston tonight, especially as our two fellow promoted friends got their usual results.
Bring on Liverpool
If they win tomorrow, and we beat em on Friday, we’ll be above Manure, if only briefly, at the nearly half way point of the season.
Who’d a thunk that in August, eh?
What a great time to be a WW fan, just awesome. Another win, seventh, and looking better and better. Saiss sometimes worries me with his tackles, but it is all good!
While you lot were freezing your nips off I was sitting on a beach in Barbados
(I know ….what a knob…. ).
Listen I’ve done my time freezing to death at the molineux trying to get some sort of warmth from my steak and kidney pie and Mrs spikey wanted some sun for Christmas so we remortgaged the caravan and came here.
Internet is bloody great so no probs getting reports.
The pub down the road gets the footy so should get to see the game on Friday.
Reading reports it seems it was a pretty even game apart from us getting 2 goals which means it wasn’t that even was it ?
Form is coming back for everyone apart from poor old Costa but he will click soon and we will forget his bad run.
So a hard won battle and 3 more points , the table looks good .
On to the scousers and another really tough test . I hope there aren’t any in st lawrence gap as I can’t stand them . havent heard of any cars being nicked so there cant be.
Enjoy the winter weather, I am !
Utw
If you couldn’t get to the Mol Spikey then I for one would agree that ……being on a beach in Barbados would be the next best thing …. I’m liking it…… but boy was it freezing cold, wet, windy and miserable …
Twix,
Q? Who was “the boy” you were being descriptive about?
Hiya Rick Rack …… we’re having a bite to eat before the Liverpool game (4:45) at the restaurant opposite the Britannia Hotel..(Stu and Lowves will know the name… please come along mate…. I can’t keep meeting you in Italian restaurant’s in Sunderland).. would be great to catch up again….
Love from Twixxo..
Hiya Twix,
Thanks for the offer but Friday is my last day at work this year & shittin it a bit that I’ll be late leaving.
Not sure I’ll get a pint in before the game but i’ll be there to see us clubbing klop.
We’ll have to meet up again soon.
UTW
Many are saying we can’t do this we can’t do that until we have so many points in the bag. Nonsense we have lived without real hope for decades and decades. I am dreaming of Europe and even a team as great as our 5 a side victories in the 70’s (back to back, never been done before or again since, thanks to Messrs Bailey, Hibbitt and Co) .
There are two teams I want to go down out of this division the slime from Cardiff and the cheats we played yesterday.
So glad to see the unsung hero Otto back, won’t take long before he regains his 100% fitness. Great team game yesterday but please get the goalie coach to do overtime with Rui on the distribution phase and that would add goals galore. Friday can’t wait what a time to follow the Wolves…..and below for the younger fans.
Us older ones used to watch Sportsnight on a school evening (staying up late for the Daily Express 5 A-Side competition)
1968 Charlton Athletic
1969 Manchester City
1970 Manchester United
1971 Southampton
1972 Tottenham Hotspur
1973 Derby County
1974 Leyton Orient
1975 Wolves
1976 Wolves
1977 Ipswich Town
1978 Crystal Palace
1979 Sunderland
1980 Aston Villa
1981 Celtic
1982 Arsenal
1983 Southampton (last year the competition was televised)
1984 Watford
1985 Oxford Utd
1986 Norwich City
All the best now folks
City, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, United, Wolves … now those are the names of the top clubs of yore … We are back where we belong!!! Welcome home!
How can we not take the time to bask in this moment, we who have waited and toiled for so long. The good times are here, and here to stay.
We have a great team with great potential and skill. We have ambitious owners who are just starting on their vision. And we have a coach who is proven at the highest levels.
Glorious!
Go Wolves !!!
Only the last 3 clubs, for me. The others are very much Johnny come lateleys. Maybe just the Arsenal and Wolves. No, sod it, only us as we were there at the beginning!
Great write up mate and couldn’t agree more with your summary.
A key difference in this winning run has been the forward players firing. Paddy did that post a few weeks back about their respective stats and all have addressed a worrying lack of end product.
Jota has two goals and two assists in three games. Jimenez two goals. Even Costa who is not playing well has collected two very smart assists.
I fear we may see Cav leave at some point in the next two windows but he might be the best finisher at the club. Three goals in a fairly meagre amount of minutes suggest he’s worth keeping hold of for a while. I think he should be ahead of Costa in the queue at present.
I just want to get a couple of things off my chest
Firstly.. how come a pie
( steak and pea ) that people had to leave there seat for ten minutes before half time in order to secure one before they all went , is now unavailable due to them not selling enough
FOSUN . .. for fucks sake , get your priorities in order
My other gripe with has always been a mistery to me and yesterday culminated in me missing the second goal
I sat through the second half absolutely busting for a wee
The official s had told us that there will be four minutes of extra time
After four minutes the ref blew for a fowl 3/4 s of the way to the south bank in the left wing .. that’s it I thought game Over .. went for the wee and missed the second goal
Why are we not allowed to see the time that the ref is adding on ?
Can any one tell me ?
In the old days, when we all had to stand, it wouldn’t have been a problem.
I expect we of a certain age have all experienced the ‘damp ankles effect’ and wondered which sod it was that did it.
Nowadays I should just cut out the eighth pint in the NBB mate!
You can’t leave early and then complain about missing the action LWL. That’s really not on!
Never ever understood the leaving early bit…..even in defeat I have never moved from the seat or the Old South Bank before that final whistle and a race to the train station trying to avoid Leeds fans or whomever I may have been heading back up North with…
Hello Wolfstroker
I trust you are well.
This is BOG from Bedford.
Bedford Wolf – Dave – has handed over his ticket to give to you on Friday.
I will meet you about 7.30 by the Billy Wright statue on Friday and hand it over. Hope that is ok. As I am on a very tight schedule to catch the last train to Euston via Milton Keynes after the game hopefully we can meet up pronto by the Statue so I can collect Dave’s ticket and give it back to him – otherwise I will bring along a SAE so you can post it directly to Dave.
My mobile number is 07792-260228.
See you Friday bud – safe journey.
All the best
BOG (Mike)
Hi BOG,
Yeah, that’s great. I take it you are in the North Bank too. If so, I can give it to you as soon as we’ve gone through the turnstiles.
Also, I don’t know Dave’s seat and row, which I will, of course, need to know so I’m not left wandering around like a lost lamb.
If you’re not in the NB, I’ll get back to the BW Statue ASAP, or even sooner.
Thanks for helping out buddy.
Steve
Hello Steve
My ST is in the Billy Wright upper so I will meet you by the Billy Wright statue after the game to collect Dave’s ticket. I will then leg it to the station but I should be ok.
If you arrive early in Wolvo a number of us are eating at the Made In Thai restaurant in Darlington Street just a few minutes walk from the Mol. The table is booked for 5.15 and you are more than welcome to join us.
Failing that I will meet you by the Billy Wright Statue at 7.30.
Safe journey Steve.
All the best
BOG.
I may well pop into the Made in Thai, Mike, if I’ve time, to pick it up. Save thinking about it later.
Bon appetit!!
London,
I think this is a Prem problem as it’s the same at each away ground too. I also get narky when I’m unsure how longs left when it say 90:00 on the clock.
I don’t wear a watch and have to try to check my phone time (which I can’t see without specs) to calc the end time plus some added time to the injury time for another 3 x subs & a half-arsed tackle that broke someone’s leg in 5 places before they get up and jog on.
I reckon some clever fellow that is good at Maths could work out an algorithm for each eventuality.
Or alternatively, they could run continue run the fekin stop-watch until the Fat Man whistles.
PS thanks London I’ve also wanted to get that off my chest fit a while 🙂
No …. Thank you Rickrack for getting my point
Goal line technology
V I r
But we’re not allowed to see how long is left f f s
And Doogs … I am all for tradition but I don’t think the millennials surrounding my north bank seat would be any thing other than horrified if I stood , rolled up my newspaper and pissed down in like we used to .
You had a newspaper.
You were lucky!
In Nuno We Trust
I could go on about yesterday’s game, but as I wasn’t there, I shall leave the minutiae to those that were.
I shall content myself with agreeing wholeheartedly with GoWolves’s comments above and bask in the warm glow of a league table which bears testament to a remarkable transformation in our fortunes since the takeover.
Onwards and upwards my friends. Rarely can we have said that with such confidence.
I just need to get something of my chest that has been bugging me. We are 7th in the league, on a 3 match winning run playing the most atractive football I have seen in my 50 years watching our team and still some people need someone to moan about. I am of course refering to Hélder Costa. I know it’s frustrating when a supporter perceives that a player has missed an easy chance but some of the criticism is unjustified. This young man is an exceptional talent and is a joy to watch. It excites me every time he has the ball he has amazing belief, a great first touch, is wonderfully skilled, has great pace, is strong on the ball, has a good work ethic and is a brilliant team player. He just needs a goal and his confidence will increase. He still had quite a bit to do to score with yesterday’s chance so give the guy a break and remember these same people were moaning about Diogo Jota only two weeks ago and now they think he is the best thing since sliced bread. So let’s give Helda some credit and the goals will come, hopefully starting on Friday against Liverpool.
Great call snowy, I think it’s called fickle.
Whilst I never played above school team level, I do now that it is impossible to do everything right all the time.
I also think Helda is a genuinely talented footballer. He broke into this team & at times run amok and I’m sure it will return.
Some have short memories but we’ll all remember this season for years to come.
Oh come on Snowy…..they were near perfect conditions yesterday…..the armchair superstars would have shown him how to do it….ALL players will dip in and out even our wonderkid has had a couple of off par games but the strength is in the PACK which includes all our fans….knocking any players confidence will do the team absolutely no good…personally Helda, if you never played again after the Anfield match you would still be a hero in Old Gold for me.
Absolutely, I was so hot I had to take my coat off at half time. Perfect conditions indeed ha ha.
I agree, Snowy, and I have been guilty of suggesting he needs a rest.
The problem is deeper than Helder, it is all to do with the Wolves fan’s mindset.
For decades we have basically survived on scraps of good football, and feasted on mundane and outright garbage.
It is ingrained in us to bitch, moan, complain and pick someone, anyone, to use as a scapegoat for the utter dross we have become accustomed to.
Fosun took over 2 1/2 years ago, and we all dreamed of instant success.
Instead we got Zenga and then Lambert.
We beat Stoke and Liverpool in the cup, but did sod all in the league, and none of us had any inkling of what was to come.
Cue Nuno and Co.
Transforming ordinary also – ran players into very good ones.
Bringing in virtually unknown, foreigners.
Talking the second division by the scruff of the neck and producing wonderful liquid football, the likes of which us old farts haven’t seen for aeons, and which a couple of generations have never seen.
And at the same time shutting the big fat gobs of Ince, Holloway, Warnock and others who said it couldn’t be done.
Now we are seventh in the Prem, making the rest sit up and take notice.
But this is NOT it, this is NOT the final product, but really only the start.
It’s not a question of if, but when, will we get into Europe and challenge the established few.
This is what all of us, me included, are having trouble getting our heads around, but by keeping the faith and continuing to back and support our club as fantastically and fanatically as we have the past 18 months, the old mindset will be gone, never to resurface.
Never was our town motto more appropriate.
I am just jealous that I cannot be there every week to enjoy everything first hand.
I think he’s brill’ and will never forget some of the magical moments he gave us in his first season here.
How can this be wrong, when have we witnessed the Molineux masses launching into, “Nuno had a dream” every time we go 1-0 or even 2-0 down against the likes of Watford, in the past we would have been down their throats, ripping chunks out of Holt, Sagbo, Boswell, Tony Daley, all the players brought in by people with not an ounce of vision and even less footballing nous.
I’m a sad twat.
I love being at the Molineux, it’s never a chore always a passion, what is it about football that makes this 67 year old numpty jump up and down and hugging Jen de Wolf when the ball hits the back of the net, at Newcastle I was leaning over a wall banging my fists into it as the ball dropped in off Doherty’s head in the last minute. WTF was that all about, but when my brain cells realised that it had actually gone in and we’d feckin done it, I leaned over and did it again. I need therapy FFS.
Hell no, I deserve this, Iv’e earned this, I’m due it, the footy Dogs are looking down and realise it’s my turn, it’s our turn, it’s your turn so soak it up, bask in the happiness it brings on a Saturday night in the pub after the game, listening to the studio experts, the well paid pundits the paper puppets who decide we should be last on Match of the day, because their darling London clubs played that day.
Well, I’m back where I deserve to be, where I belong, where Wolves fans belong, so feck you Gary lying acre, feck you colin, feck you Steve Broose.
Don’t feckin knock any of these guys for putting my team 7th in the league, the Premier league, the best league in the World. Each and every one of them have contributed, even those who never get off the bench week in week out, they play their part.
Shake off your shackles Wolves fans, believe this.
They stregnth is in the pack. Don’t divide it, lot’s of others on the outside will try to do that to their own ends, stick together guys and gals. Our 12th man is amazing, our team are amazing. These times are amazing.
Laurie Dalrymple at the last fans Parliament and Stevie Bull during the week stated, “We ain’t seen nothing yet”
I’m going to ask Laurie to play that at the games………….
Wolves Ay We, don’t let it be, Wolves we Ay
Blooming heck Stu that brought a tear to my eye.
Are you sure your not Winston Churchills retired speach writer ?
Nuno needs you in the dressing room on friday night !
Stu,
Great blog. But you Ay sad! As far as being a twat, I think that might be up for debate on here. Lmfro 🙂
Got to say Stu great post.
Regarding MOTD can anyone work out on what criteria the running order is decided.
Like you Stu I thought it was the good old London centric thing but then such vibrant games as Toon v Muddyfield and CP v Leicester were above Wolves -I then remembered Lineker and Shearer probably have a say.
Hi Stu great post you missed one Alan Evans they gave him hell’.
Don’t hang back Stu, get it all off your chest mate! Well said by the way as well.
I was sat with a grin a mile wide last night. I’m still with RickRack, get the 40 points then push for as high as possible but yep I’m starting to believe now.
Thank you Nuno, thank you Fosum & thank you to every single person involved with WWFC – I love you all.
Finally a personal thank you to the dogs of football for letting Ipswich finally get 3 points. It stopped me having a suicidal husband!!
Roll on Liverpool.
Hey border, it’s sometimes hard to get the whole of a point into a short written paragraph. For me i’ll be eternally greatfull for last season & this one thus far & 7th with only “the big 6” above us.
But progress is 17th this year – that’s an absolute reality.
7th will probably see me considering running round Gornal with Cheesie just in my underpants.
Dreaming? Yes, can we? Yes but like Sir Nuno of Wulfrunia says, we haven’t done anything yet!
Proper FWAW
Couldn’t agree more! All except the running around Gornal, I’ll skip that part if you don’t mind!!
A good win for Wolves Jota is back hope injury is not to bad up to seventh and europa league why. Look at Burnley squad not big enough same as ours will struggle imho if in europa league.
Saiss came on at the perfect time, just as the Cherries were getting a bit of momentum he was available to break them down.
It was a classic Football Manager win in many ways; grab a goal, manage the game, make the right subs, and hit them on the break. Not a thing of beauty but a solid three points. Well done Nuno.
P.s. I watched Bournemouth lose to Liverpool last week and thought to myself, “that No.3 Steve Cook, he’s a useless prick isn’t he? A footballing dinosaur who has nothing to his game except some agricultural tackles and barges”. Well, my fears were confirmed when he clattered Jota but made it look enough like a 50:50 to convince the ref to let him off the hook. Utter sod.
So what I am reading is “In Nuno We Trust” and “In Fosun We Trust” but don’t trust them when they say we are not in the Premier League just to make up the numbers?
Don’t trust that they have put together a team that will easily be in the top half of the table and might be able to push for Europe?
You guys can think how you want but I am still hoping for 5th, although that might look like a stretch right now. Do fans of the other top teams think like that – We have to survive first and get a certain number of points before we can actually enjoy what we have accomplished so far this season?
You have to remember, Tim, that we’ve grown accustomed to disappointment after disappointment since the previous glory days of the early 1970’s. While everyone is hoping for a top 6 position ( possibly in reach because of manure being in dire straights) those of us who have seen Wolves go out of the FA Cup to 7th tier Crawley are perhaps a little more conservative in their short term ambitions because this is hopefully a project for the ‘long game’, which will lead to Champions League football in the next few years. Fingers firmly crossed!
Tim,
Of course I’m happy that we are doing so well but as far as “other fans thinking We have to survive first” surely the top 6 today have been in the top 6 for a while & we could be considered as “the new pretenders”.
I’m happy you’re hoping for 5th but I’ll remain with my feet on the ground & hope we can progress at a pace that the whole club, team & fans can substantiate.
Maybe one of us is deluded but i’ll remain happy to achieve 40 points first & then see where the pack can be taken too.
But as Stu says above, the strength is in the pack & these times are truely amazing.
COMB COYW FWAW
If rumours are true, you’re gonna be unhappy with the next couple of transfer windows because Wolves aren’t intending to progress at a pace that the whole club, team & fans can substantiate.
Anyway, to each his own.
More enthusiasm from Tim. Now just think back to Stevenage away in division three.
Timmy my boy, I have to say I sometimes struggle to work out your level.
And don’t believe everything you hear.
PS they’ve removed the word “gullible” from the dictionary.
Whether we sign 0, 1, 2 or 11 in the next windows and whether on loan or outright purchase it will catagorically not make me unhappy.
Life is good & after 50 plus years of watching Wolves & this in the now is THE best ever, so any additions will only be in the interest of taking our club in the right direction.
I won’t however get caught up in WWFC are signing Neymar or Pogba… & we’ll win the Champions League in 2020
However if we do both i’ll still be watching em home & away and loving every minute.
Merry Xmas Tim
I’m not sure how you can hope for 5th place and yet cast doubts on Fosun, unless I misunderstand you. I do trust Fosun. We are not in the PL just to make up the numbers and survive. Who knows, we may not sign a player in January if the right one is not available. I do know that every player, bar Costa, is improving and becoming genuinely upper PL quality. Costa is still an exciting talent and he will soon be back to his best. He laid on great assists for goals against Newcastle and Bournemouth.
For the record I have a series of bets on midtable or better finish. Also a few bets on sixth or better! Just one winning bet will see me in profit. I’m using the bookies’ money anyway as I cashed in on the title last season at 16-1.
Hoping Liverpool get a winner, (1-1 at the moment with half an hour to go.)
We will be able to break ‘pools unbeaten record on Friday and go above United.
HOW FAR WE HAVE COME IN 18 MONTHS
Marvelous!!
First thing to say about yesterday it was fucking COLD.I couldn’t feel me onds or feet as I left the ground. Next thing to say. We gave the ball away cheaply and struggled to gain momentum. Next thing we defended superbly and limited a decent side to a couple of half chances. As Eddie Howe admitted. Playing on the counter attack we still looked the more likely to score the second goal of the game. I think we gained control of the game when Saiss came on . Cav tucked away his chance brilliantly. Steve Bull esque in the way he rampaged forward and slammed in to the bottom corner. A pleasing win. Three on the bounce in the premier league is a brilliant achievement. Liverpool had to big slices of luck in goals 2 and 3 against manure today. They come to Molineux on Friday night and they will know they are in for a fight. Perhaps the Gods will side with us a bit and we may be the first team to beat them this season. We have a habit of upsetting the big boys on our patch. Should be an intriguing game. Looking forward to it. Wolves underpants poised for action. FWAW.FOWB and mind the gap Villa.
Cheese my wife just said she is glad we don’t live in Gornal. Nothing against Gornal itself have had a few good nights there in the past
Alright Tipton. Get yer Mrs down the Spar shop. Advent calendars and everything in there. Choice of two chip shops. An Indian and a Chinese. What more could you want ?
After watching yet another win I proudly wore my Wolves (away) shirt today around the suburbs of Melbourne. When I have done that in the past the only comment I would get was whose shirt is that? Today at least 3 people said “your Wolves are doing well” . Did not feel nervous at all during the game and thought we controlled it well. The only time the sphincter clinches a touch is when a backpass is made to Patricio. I have now secured my tickets to the Burnley away game and the United home game and cannot wait to see my beloved Wolves live for the first time since 1977.
Alright Melbourne.was in your gaff in 2002/2003/2006 at the ashes/rugby world cup. I remember a few bars The Irish times, the mitre, elephant and wheelbarrow, pint on Punt, the espy, Cooper’s bar. Great city.sporting capital of Australia.look forward to Going back one day.
I’m
Slowly but surely converting my local mates here on the West Coast to track progress of our team.. whose name most can’t pronounce
In my golf club tournaments our Pro habitually introduces someone on the first tee with
Joe Bloggs. …. go Bulldogs!
Or
Mike Smith… go Huskies!
Now he says
Brian Chadbourne.. up the Wolves!
…my friends are learning the song “Nuno had a dream….”
Its like colonizing all over again and its working… they watch out for our scores and next week I know I’m going to hear
“Seventh???..Wow”
Yeay
I won’t be able to explain quickly enough the concept of knocking Liverpool off their effing perch
But that will make next Friday complete
COYW
Stuey had a dream.
We’ve done it once, twice would be superb.
I’d love to claim this but plagerisum is wrong according to my old college lecturers:
PS I don’t think I’m related to Rick Woodward
As I sat out of the rain, in The SB wearing layer upon layer of warm clothing and still shivering I looked at our lads giving it their all. Horrible conditions but showing skill and imagination: most of them wearing short sleeves! Makes you proud especially as they won.
Question
If you were on the staff would you recommend to Jeff that £30M be spent on securing Jimi’s signature? I would.
Sometimes, here and there, I read people espousing the idea that real men don’t wear gloves, or thermal vests or whatever when it’s bloody freezing, blowin’ a hoolie and hailing/sleeting/snowing. Like they’re too soppy to be wearing their team’s shirt.
Frankly, I don’t give a fig if they wear a wooly hat, ear muffs and a fluffy overcoat as long as they give their all and get the job done. It don’t matter a jot to me. 🙂
Me too. They can wear thermals and earmuffs if they want or go cold turkey with short sleeves. Doc wears gloves and takes a bit of stick for it. Basically we are all different, including football players. Some feel the cold more than others, that’s no reflection on their masculinity. One way to stay warm is to keep winning…
The Villa arrogance shows no signs of abating despite languishing in 8th place in THE SECOND DIVISION and 12 points behind leaders Leeds. The Express and Star reports today that Villa CEO Christian Purslow says Villa ‘dominate the Midlands’. Well they did win the European Cup in 1982. So that will explain the domination. Total pricks. This bloke does not know his history and Fosun will be taking us back to domination soon. So Purslow MIND THE GAP.
Speaking of arrogance Cheesie I see Mourinho claims that Manure can finish in the top 4. And (paraphrasing) at least in the top 6 because the top 6 will always be the top 6. Are you sure Jose? Have a look over your shoulder. We’re right behiiind yoouu!
Cheesie,
You really can be mean!
Your post really does prove unequivocally that Vile are dominating the bottom 13 places in the Chumpionship
And I for one, wish them continued success in their quest for reigning supreme in that position for years to come.
FOwb & vile
Never liked the Villa mate. Goes back to 1981 League Cup game on a Tue night. Two nil up cruising and Andy Gray got sent off. We lost 3-2. I was only a kid then but remember the train back from Witton to Wolves got smashed up by the Wolves fans including ripping the toilet out and throwing it on to the platform at the Vile fans as they tried to get to us through the coppers. Those were the days my friend! Fingles and his mob were about that night. Dead now but that bloke could instigate a riot !!
Too right chap. Looking at some of the Liverpool forums earlier they are giving us quite a bit of respect . One post expects a more difficult game than Man Utd. Another says the way Wolves play suits the games against the bigger sides. Another says Wolves have only lost against Spurs out of the big six. Interesting how they perceive us. Can’t wait for Friday.
I live amongst loads of those vile idiots and it’s true that they seriously don’t believe anyone exists apart from them.
Difficult but I really do hate them more than the Albion.
At least the baggie fans I know are humble about what’s happened to them but those vile pigs are still in denial and they still think they are the midlands top club despite where they are.
Let’s hope they stay where they are for a good many seasons to come and we get them in the next round of the cup and smash the prats to pieces
Barbados,
Please remember this is a family show, and refrain from using bad language, as in A……!
Thank you
Fowb
Sorry but when the vile are mentioned I tend to lose it a little.
Please replace a….n with Shite
Just a quick question to all you Season Ticket holders.
Is your seat number printed on your ticket/card/whatever you have???
It is indeed, Wolfie.
Yes Stoker it is. Why do you ask?
Well, Nosey Wanderer, someone is kindly lending me their season ticket for the Liverpool game as they can’t make it. (Lucky me!!!). I thought afterwards I didn’t know their seat and I won’t see them beforehand.
Simple as that really.
Bit harsh Wolfstoker!
Only joking HW. Didn’t mean to offend. Sorry if it did. 🙂
All is forgiven Stoker – happy Christmas and a great Wolves New Year
Thanks HW. Same to you and yours.
Stay happy, Happy Wanderer. We’re all happy wanderers now. 🙂
Nuno for Manchester United it’ll be then.
Prepare yourselves for 6 Months of British Press bullshit.
Disrupt the Newbies.
Wolves in talks with Middlesbourgh for Pulis’s release clause.
Jeff Shi in communication with Kneel Warnuck
Thank Christ we weren’t sitting 7th in the Premier league.
WTF’s all this, Nuno’s the Special one
Nuno’s the Special one
Nuno’s the Special one
Nuno’s the Special one
Maureen leaves Manure. Big Sam’s available to save them from relegation. On a different note another bloody home game moved for sky. Newcastle moved to Monday night 8pm.
Seventh heaven for Wolves. P45 for Maureen. I’m gutted he’s sacked as he looked well on course to take Manure on a losing streak, just as he did in his last season at Chelsea. With him still there I really fancied our chances of 6th place.
Can I now fantasise a bit about Manure’s new manager? He’s arriving in a taxi for talks as I speak. Step forward the one and only….Alan Pardew!
Why only 6th????
Bit late on here ‘cos I have been busy. Another 3 points and onward’s we march.
Good times feel so much better when you have been through the bad times.
Onward’s & Upwards
🙂
Do teams still do offside traps?
Yes, but they call it ‘holding a high back line’ now.
OK, thanks.
The reason I was wondering is because these top teams are so fluid offensively that maybe there is some play from days gone by that would be effective if resurrected.
Somehow, Wolves can throw them off their game offensively and frustrate them for the game.
Who knows, we may be able to hit upon something that brings these teams down a notch and evens up the league.
Gotta think outside the box.
We’ve already done that several times Tim. ref: Chelski – Arse – Manure
OK thanks. Hard to tell on a stream. You see what they want you to see.
Since it’s “that time of the year again”
Here’s Tipton’s Queen’s special Christmas message.
Yow gorra loff

That, Stu, is absolutely bloody brilliant.
Apologies for the late post , been extremely busy with trying to get everything done before Xmas.
Meet with some Bournemouth fans in the Western before the game and to be honest they were signing our praises. Meet the same fans in the pub after the game and all they had was praise for our lads and commented on how well we played !!
Funny old day Saturday for pumping into people . After having my quota in the pub me and my son departed and went to retrieve the car from the train station multi storey…..What happened next is the truth , the hole truth I shit you not. In the car going towards the exit my son spots two cars parked alongside each other and screams at me ‘ that’s Bennett- stop the car’ . So I stopped the car wound the window down and I shit you not I was talking to Ryan Bennett . Better still my son exits the car to get himself a selfie with the driver of the other car Rui Patricio !! Just when you think this cant get any better , guess who pulls up in his white porche at the entrance barrier to the car park……Fukin Helder Costa !!!!
If some tec head can tell me how to upload the selfies taken on my sons fone onto hear I will gladly post them.
Lucky sod Dodgster. Put them up please.
While I’m on, some of you may have missed a slight error by the Rochdale keeper to allow my local team Plymouth to score their late winner at the weekend. OUCH!!!

Picture of my lad with Bennett !
Strange old week on Thursday I pumped into Dazzling Dave the wolves YouTuber in the fox at Shipley. Guess who else was there none other than Kenny Hibbitt signing copies of his book together with Willie Carr !
Must of trod in some lucky dog shit sprinkled with wolves dust !
Here he is with our Rui !
Here’s Bennett !
Must of trod in some lucky dog shit sprinkled with Wolves fc fairy dust !
My lad with our Rui !
RIP Bill Slater. Another Wolves giant from the 50’s legends. Hope for a suitable tribute at Mol on Fri night.
Another one who’s late to the table. Still battling with a chest infection but that result against The Cherries is keeping me going.
I’ll be there on Friday come hell or high water.
Sorry to learn of the passing of another Wolves legend: RIP Bill Slater.
Sad about Bill Slater, a great man and Wolves legend.
It puts into perspective our being linked again with Pepe.
Not fit to tie Bill’s bootlaces…
… either as player… or man.
Exactly.
I wonder how many of that great Wolves side of the 1950s are still alive and kicking?
Ron Flowers is I think, and has some role at the club.
Any others?
He is, or he was in August anyway.
Living in Australia apparently. 🙁
You look more handsome everyday Stu, especially with your suit and tie on!
Handsome and Stuwolf in the same sentence??
Should never happen!
Had to wear my suit that day, meeting that handsome guy in his Wolves shirt
