The loan signing of Kaspars Gorkšs won’t set pulses racing but could prove important.

Back-to-back Championship title triumphs with QPR and Reading should at least breed confidence.
And of course some would argue that any change would be a positive move.
He seems to be very much in the mould of our other centre backs though. Dean Saunders said:
“He is strong, brave and no-nonsense who will put his head in which is what we need.”
I’d argue that description applies to our incumbent defenders, but who knows, perhaps he’ll do it better?
As with all signings you can’t make a proper judgment until you’ve seen him play. Good luck to him.
Here are few snippets from a Reading Forum to warm the cockles:
“Gorkss is a beast in the Championship, not quite up to PL. Keep if we go down, sell if we stay up. Would be an excellent signing for any Championship side.”
“Wish him luck. Amazing for us last year.”
“Love him. Great player at that level and a decent guy too, but Wolves is a dirty stain on his CV.”
“Good luck to him, good move for all parties.”
The consensus seems to be that he was impressive last season, but was found out in the Prem.
There’s reportedly a fee agreed to make the signing permanent in the summer and Saunders considers him the first piece of his jigsaw.
What do you think?
I like his cv , particularly the fact with only a dozen or so starts this season he has 3 goals .
A bit of a leader , good referances from Reading fans ….Hope he partners Bathh at Derby .
A view to a permanent deal , hopfully a left back as well to arrive ……at least something positive to discuss at last !
Goodbye to the wrestler and hopfully a few more
Living in Reading and being a Wolves fan I have seen him play as also know what we need. He is certainly stronger than Berra and Johnson, I have seen him lay it on a few forwards last year so he can put it about. To be honest he is joining a back 4 very short on confidence and as a result are not playing well. If he can bring a little calm in a workd of confusion it will be a plus. Remember its just an initial 90 day loan so to moan about it is futile. Good or bad it matters not from a duratione perspective but if it does work and he gets other around him to make the right decisions under pressure then its a master stroke. Sadly I fear just one man can’t change all the ills of our current situation but its a start. If I had my way I would look for another defender (left back has been mentioned by everyone in this site) and another combative midfielder who can tackle unlike the energetic but irratic Henry. I know we need to create but stopping the rot must be the first priority. I do feel SEB and Doyle will score a few if only we can stop the errorrs at the back. I don’t care if its ugly, boring and scrappy for the remainder of the year, we just need to stay up and have a massive summer clearout and rethink.
Anything is better than nothing at the moment. Just hope he’s better than Oleg Luzhny.
To be fair to Oleg Luzhny, Dave Jones always played him at right back rather than his true position of central defender. I think he only came in when Irwin was injured so he never had a settled run in the side,
Fair play, plus he was a comedy genius, “I like Wolverhampton because it reminds me of the Ukraine”
Fair play, plus he was a comedy genius, “I like Wolverhampton because of the ring road, it reminds me of being in the Ukraine”
I must agree on Luzhny. I’ve never felt so cheated! Thought we’d bought a beast but he was bloody awful!
He looks a little like Luzny doesn’t he?
Anyway, could he play left back?
However without bringing up the old chestnut, why oh why, are we ‘looking’ for players when the transfer window has just shut?
Good luck, hope he scores in the next game.
We know E-Blanks and Doyle won’t, and we know Ward will play.
A team sheet without Ward at left back and Ziggy and Cassidy up front, is what I want to see. Unfortunately, Gorkss, (Gorky) isn’t going to change that.
Still a step, hopefully, in the right direction…
Smacks of McCarthy again but good luck
Frankly, I feel like we’re in no position to be too picky at the moment. If he helps keep us up I think the guy will deserve a massive pat on the back and then we could take things from there. There are too many short-term issues to get too bogged down with plans for the future right now.
I think this IS short term. He’s been bought to help keep us up and maybe aid a promotion push next season. At least I hope this isn’t long term.
Read in E&S that DS is looking to bring a striker in. I would like to see Siggy and Cassidy have a go first – they are both young and are not going to improve sitting on the bench. Can’t see them doing much worse than SEB and Doyler at the moment. Just hope we are not going back for Marlon King.
Sorry, having read it back I wasn’t clear in my post. That’s what I meant, that this is a short-term option…but that is exactly what was needed.
Agree Steppenwolf, Ziggy and Cassidy upfront.
Think about it, Tranmere are likely to be promoted, partly due to Cassidy’s goals at the beginning of the season.
Now he is sitting on the bench, twiddling his thumbs, watching useless strikers picked ahead of him at Wolves, whom Tranmere might replace in the Championship –
It’s madness he is not playing ahead of Doyle or E-Blanks.
The latter two have had their day while Cassidy, like Ziggy, is young and hungry and not used to losing…
I think we ought to at least be giving them more of an opportunity than they are getting. DS seems to bring Siggy on with 5 minutes to go when it is too late to have much of an impact. Cassidy doesn’t even get that. Surely when it is so obvious that SEB and Doyle are struggling you give one of these guys a run out, even if it’s for just the last half hour. SEB’s game is about finishing and we are not creating much at the moment. He can become a bit of a passenger in those circumstances. I know he’s our top scorer but he’s played in just about every game. Pace frightens the sh*t out of defenders and Siggy has it in spades. It’s difficult to press high up the pitch against players like that so there’s more space in midfield.
Gorkss – never seen him play but from comments on here I am not sure he’s a “play it out from the back type” which indicates we are moving away from the style Staale wanted to adopt and will stick with a more direct approach. I wonder where that leaves his players, including Siggy?????
Agree completely Steppenwolf.
Unfortunately, I think all Staale’s signings will go in the summer.
We live in a ‘profits before people’ society or in Wolves’s and Morgan’s case, ‘profits before winning football matches’ world…
Agree totally. But I carnt see it happening Saunders hasn’t got the balls , and I he’s only going to play one up front which looks like he plan to get us out of the shit there chance are slim to none at all.
He knows what’s needed at this level and has the track record. Let’s hope he is up for a relegation scrap.
The main thing surely is that he wants to play for us and you can’t say that about Berra. Good luck and welcome to Molineux.
I don’t think it does smack of McCarthy, although Gary Breen came to us when he was 32. Most of Mick’s signings were younger and/or from the lower divisions. In fact, one of my doubts about McCarthy was that he was reluctant to sign strong-minded older players whom the younger players needed. I would give this as the major reason why we failed in the Prem. Eventually, McCarthy even fell out with Breen, and Mick avoided like the plague other players with the experience and know-how to stand up to him.
Gorkss seems a bit of a short-term signing, but is necessary now, and we are rumoured to be hoping to sign the younger Alex Baptiste in the summer. Batth, Gorkss and Baptiste would surely give us a better CD platform than Johnson and Berra to challenge for promotion next season.
I think the comparisons with McCarthy stem from the type of defender Gorkss appears at first glance i.e. tall, good in the air, but probably slow and uncomfortable in possession. Similar to:
Collins
Johnson
Berra
Shackell
Darren Ward
Breen
Stearman
All players Mick signed that were fairly similar in type (albeit with their own strengths and weaknesses).
What we need across the entire defence is proper balance.
In the centre, you can have one lead-footed oaf if they’re partnered by a player that can cover the ground and get back in.
Then full-backs that can actually defend and not just get forward.
At the moment, we’ve got two slugs in the middle and two full-backs that simply can’t defend. Is it any wonder we’re conceding for fun?
p.s. wouldn’t Roger Johnson fit the bill of a strong-minded older player? If true, you could argue Mick should have stuck with the kids!
Also I forgot just how many players were bought but never made it! I thought they looked at character before signing?
Griffiths
Shackell
D Ward
Hammil
!!
Every man has his opinion, but, for me, Gorkss, Baptiste and Batth can all distribute better along the ground than any of the players you mention, Thomas. Probably all three are faster too (except compared with Stearman, whose problems centre on concentration).
The comparison with Mcarthy is that he wanted centre halves who would head a brick and kick the ball out of the stadium!
I can understand that this chap may at least allow removal of one player with an attitude problem from the team, but he will also stop another younger player developing in the team if he stays next year. It suggests we are now panicking over the drop and there is no long term ambition to play anything other than hoof ball!
For me the issues lie with too many players with poor mental strength and character. The same crap has been selected endlessly and should have been dropped years ago! And replace Doyle with anyone even a keeper as they are more likely to score!
Might be ok, but who really cares
Thousands of us, thanks for asking. A good signing to address one of our problem areas.
I wish him well and will withold judgement until he has a few games under his belt.
Sounds like the kind of defensive leader we need.
Only concern is the lack of ambition it seems this guy is great in the Championshion but not the prem. I guess the two MMs are planing for us to be in this league for a while.
But Good Luck and welcome to the Mol
Bingo
A good championship defender is what we need. A good championship defender is what he seems to be. Stick him in along side Batth and hopefully the two of them can shut up shop.
Next up on the shopping list, an actual left back deano.
Sorry Morph, the World is right out of Left backs didnt you know!!! lol
The left back we should have is at Leeds
here’s hoping Kaspar can sort the ghosts currently playing in our defense. Good luck
Urgently need a pacey left back as next signing.
Sorry hersham, I agree but didnt you listen to our management, there are just no left backs available anywhere lol. I sometimes think we would be better off jusdt driving a post in the ground at left back. At least he would be in the right place occasionly. I wasnt the biggest fan of lee naylor but ward make him look world class.
Unless we get some pace at LB (especially) & RB, we will continue to leak goals, even with Gorkss, who I believe to be a good addition. I’m with Saunders re getting in another LB.
Warnock – but I suspect we wouldn’t pay his wages.
Two things:-
Can he speak English and can he shout?
Let’s test him with a typical sentence he will need in future.
“Get back and defend/tackle/cover (delete where applicable) you dozy Irish oaf!!!”
He should do Doogooder, he’s been in Reading for years!
Or how about: let’s train him to say one – if not all – of the following platitudes:
We can do a Reading
The lads are a confident bunch
The gaffer has us all enjoying training. We would have won he league had he been here longer
play-offs still a possibility
Sako lets us down with his defensive cover.
He’ll soon be good for an E&S quote!
Incidentally, Karl Henry really went down in my estimation with that interview with the E&S. I’m still struggling to understand what the hell he was thinking
What is it with this bloke Ward? He seems to have a hold over everybody at the club. Henry publicly blaming Sako for failing to do what that Irish twat’s failed to do for years without any criticism from the club. And HE’S supposed to be a left back, farcical as that idea is. Sako is actually very good at what he is paid to do, unlike that donkey.
What about when Ward allowed Leicester score their first goal? Screamed at Berra as if it was nothing to do with him. And Berra just took it. Unbelievable.
I’m with you on this one Ben as far as Henry is concerned. I am sick to death of the old guard who have been under-performing for years. The day a manager walks in and says a left back replacement is a priority we might have a chance at last. Until then forget it.
I know. Can’t believe how shite he is! How do you activate the release clause?!!
Spot on Martin I couldn’t agree more.
Our best players, (Staale’s signings), will be sold in the summer.
Check out DS’s comments about Pzesko in the E&S – its starting already.
I agree Ben.
To blame Sako was phenomenal.
He is a left winger not a left back, and without him we would definitely be in the bottom three.
What has Henry contributed this season?
I agree ward is shite, but what does the Irish have to do with it? Don’t see anyone calling SEB a fat English wanker or when kightly left ,his nationality bring brought into question ….
No i agree RaydeWolf, i thought the same when i read my comment back.
I don’t like derogatory remarks that include a reference to a person’s nationality myself. I’ve certainly got nothing against the Irish, generally i find them real nice people.
The truth is, this bunch of numb nuts wearing the old gold are driving me to distraction and i think they must be dragging me down to their level.
The word ‘Irish’ was used for identification, because just ‘twat’ could pretty much apply to any of them and i find it almost impossible to describe him as a left back.
Sorry, i forgot to change my name back from Kaspars. It was supposed to be a little joke of a comment from our new signing yesterday. Unfortunately it bombed big time.
I alluded to Ward as being Irish, because he’s Irish.
Quite simple.
There’s nothing wrong with being Irish. I have many friends who are Irish.
The greatest character ever to play for Wolves (in my opinion) was Irish.
I have even based my blog ID on him (you may have noticed).
If it makes you happy, every time I pass an opinion on anyone in future, I will refer to them by their Nationality as well as their name.
That way I can end up offending everybody who sees a problem with it.
If you refer to me as a Yank, I will get really offended, you know I am really sensitive!
I am a Texanized English gentleman, if you must know.
There is Texas, then the rest of America, much like there are Englishmen, then foreigners!
Anyway, Ward could have been made in heaven, it would still make no difference, he is shit.
PS, what about scousers?
Are they a seperate nationality, as in Morgan you fuckin’ scouse git???
Yes.
But there are different types of scousers too.
If you are being factually correct it should be ‘Morgan you f***in’ RED scouse git’.
Only Problem I have with his signing, is its another name I can’t spell or pronounce.
Other than that good news cant be any worse than Berra..
Get him and Danny in together.
I was hopeing someone called tell me where Lee Naylor is playing?
I think he would be better at left back than Ward.
For me, based on what I have read, this can only be a good move for us.
A winning pedigree at this level, with some years of experience on his shoulders.
A no messing hard ball Center Back to bully and intimidate some oposing forwards, who at times have made our current defence look colander like.
We have all for some time talked of the need to strengthen defensively, and this for now seems a move in the right direction.
Welcome to Wolves Kaspars.
Get in to Em…..F**k Em off….Get in to Em….etc.
i had to read that twice to realise you weren’t talking about Bully.
then, when i thought about him, i thought you all might like to think about him too.
Steve Bull eh? what a player he was
At the very least he brings a different mentality to the defeatist attitude of much of the squad so I welcome this!
Well we need all the help we can get at the moment so i really welcome the signing. At least if it doesn’t work out he can always go back but it’s a step/begrudging shuffle in the right direction!
I’m sure if it does turn out to be a good signing, m&m will lord it up how they’ve saved the club yet again and will add another zero to the fat bastards bonus!!
But as far as the signing goes, more of the same please, 2 fullbacks would be nice!!
I hope and expect this chap to play instead of Berra. Then can Moxey explain why we paid £2.5m for Berra, and it was clear that on his championship debut at Coventry, we paid far too much money for him. How come Stoke get Shawcross for £1m, why could n`t our genius CEO get that player for that much smaller fee.
Lets hope the manager keeps his word and plays Batth instead of Johnson, when his suspension is over. Just need 2 fullbacks, and a striker, I suppose we had to start somewhere. Welcome to this new chap, about bloody time too !!
A Latvian international replacing a Scottish international. Sounds about right.
Hallelujah! A significant signing at last! But it will be meaningless if Saunders drops Batth. I’be already started to feel deflated! By the way wtf did that Reading fan mean by Wolves being a stain on Gorkss CV? News travels fast about Moxey and Morgan!
I bet its the cheap option, but anything is better than nothing and nothings what we have at the moment !!!.
Lets hope he’s true to his word and he’s one of many,LB,MF Pacey,CF Big ugly f##ker.
All on the cheap a must…UTW.
You’re a right miserable lot, whatever happens, whoever gets signed up, whatever the cost, it’s just not good enough for you. Have you forgotten ???….. Even during the last two years in the PL, players were not queueing up to sign for us for whatever reason or not. Do you really think that this situation has changed, look at us we’re on a seemingly unstoppable slide into Div 1 Ståle tried to introduce new ideas but both he and DS appear unable to address our sad and sorry decline. Have you also forgotten that we sold our three best players before the season started and they’ve still not been replaced. Apart from a few early additions to the squad with Ståle and don’t forget, his first choices he was unable to bring to the club. I would imagine DS has been knocked back a few times as well, we just haven’t heard about them yet.
We can all think of players that we’d like to bring to the club but it’s highly unlikely they’d want to come anyhow. Our only concern is to stay up and if that means loaning a couple of no nonsense bruisers for the back 4, midfield and up front then so be it. This is the CH not the PL, style of play and clientele are just as important to remain in the CH as well as the PL but the calibre of player is different down here and we do not have this type of player any longer. The youngsters are full of energy and potential promise but this is not the time nor the place to blood any more than one or two for maybe a game or two or more in the hope that somehow they will magically bring about a sea change in the clubs fortunes. Support the manager in his endeavours and back his judgement. The time for recriminations is after we stay up and should be directed towards the real culprits whoever they are..!!!!
As ever UTW..!!!
Well said! DS has already stated that he would love to play one or two youngsters and would do if we were mid table but will not risk it in our present position. As you say, difficult to get players to sign for Wolves and we are lucky that Gorkss is on board, he is an excellent CH and at 6ft 3in a giant of a man. An excellent signing.
Support the manager and back his judgment???
Now is not the time to play the youngsters???
What utter and complete bollocks!
How many wins under Saunders?
Who has been playing under Saunders?
Not the youngsters, but he ones who got us into this mess.
So, according to the above logic, because they got us into this mess, proving they are useless, lets keep playing them as the youngsters are not good enough.
Pray tell me, how fuckin’ bad do the youngsters have to be, to be worse than the present shower of shit?
No one wants us to go down, but if we do, there is no fuckin’ way on gods earth I’m going to give any of the current regime an ounce of praise, respect or any other word out of a thesaurus for their “valiant” efforts.
If we offered decent wages, and had someone with a footballing brain doing the interviewing, we might possibly get players who want to play for us, but with greasel in charge, no way, Jose.
na mate, mourinho’s not coming here. where’d you hear that?
Dont want him if his team cant beat Man U!!!
Any defensive player with half a footballing brain will improve our current back four. It would have to be an almighty shit player to make the back four even worse. I would bet that over the last 2 years, our back four is the worst in all four divisions. Good luck gorkss. I really hope you and baath can strike up a good understanding. All the others have had their chance and proven they are not good enough. Saunders, please show you have a big pair of bollocks, by playing gorkss and baath.
Gorkss and Batth will be a great double act, literally, but jusst looking at ttheir namess givess me a headache.
Up tthe Wolvess!
It’s a step to freshen things up. I’d like to see Johnson and Berra out and Batth & Gorky in. LB – yes. I don’t understand why REckord (U-21 skipper) isn’t givem a chance. Striker has to be a target man so we can get someone anticipating and finishing Sako’s crosses. It’s a start. Knowing our luck he’ll get crocked/ sent off first game though….

and morgan will expect us all to be so grateful! i really hope he does well for us..sounds what we need but once again weve done it on the cheap. we had a transfer window but ….nothing, just like EVERY window. suddenly they want to back the manager ..or are they just worried we might go down? well done dean for getting them to relinquish some readies but i am so sick of the lack of ambition at wolves ; we are where we are due to lack of investment .yes these loans MAY keep us up but what about next season or the one after that? good luck gorks..you have my permission to kick our lot too..feel free!!!
You are right Goldy. The last transfer window showed the extent of our ambition. Now we’ve brought in a Reading reserve who Blackburn wanted as cover. Sadly, it’s exactly what we need right now but all plans of a change of style appear to have gone out of the window. I feel we are back to where we were under TC but with a few decent players that SS brought in, (and I fear they will be sold off in the summer), otherwise it’s the same old. I worry that this type of play, and this sort of player, will only get us so far – as was evident under MM and is being illustrated again now.
hadnt even thought of players wanting out stepps mate.. if we lose sako and a couple of others in the summer what then? its almost beyond unbelievable whats been ALLOWED to happen whilst all the other teams being no where near as financially stable as us creeping upwards. thanks mr morgasm .. what you gonna do next? put a roof on and call it molineux house ? cos thats where its going . admit defeat and appologise or sell up! or and sell up!
I remain to be convinced.
Another slow centre half to add to our collection of slow centre halfs.
Will some one please inform m & m that it is pace that we lack at the back. Fully expect Johnson and gorkis to start next game and freeze out the young, talented Batth.
Another m & m signing in the mould of pennant. I’d imagine no costs involved and high percentage of wages paid by qpr of course.
Come on then, Deano. Show us what you’re made of.
The easy decision is Gorkss and Johnson (when he’s back).
However sometimes the right decision is the toughest decision. It’s time to drop the defenders who have failed time and time again.
You’ve talked the talk, Deano. Time to walk the walk. It has to be Gorkss and Batth.
• Superb positive signing. Get some muscle in our defence. Now let’s do the obvious and team him up with either or Roger Johnson or young Batthe. But please please Dean show some strength to your character, play Peszko from the start and don’t play Doumbia. Best move of all would be to drop Berra he is our weak link in defence. With this new line up I genuinely feel we could survive.
Got a good CV. Looks the part. Bet he replaces Batth at Derby. Batth out on emergency loan before the window closes.
Heard some rumours that we are looking for 2 more loan signings. A LB and a CF! Supposedly we are signing one of them in the next couple of days, hopefully!
UTW!!
Just out of interest, has anyone tried to leave a comment on the ‘Tough times’ video on Youtube?
The one I tried to leave is conspicuous by its absence.
Still waiting approval.
It seems like anyone with an opinion gets blanked.
should be interesting who deano’s got his eye on,Big striker a must,as some one said what about giving Reckford a go at LB what have we got to lose.
Just hope there’s a place for Danny Batth because he’s earned it.
Berra’s got to go for Gorkss.
I’d be thinking of a 5-4-1 at DERBY with Johnson the extra defender, who knows it could work.
UTW.
Good luck to him,,,bathe and new guy for me
Before we all get the hot tub out, it’s Batth with two ‘t’s, as in ‘petty’.
Bet your a bundle of fun at parties ….
Bet your a bundle of fun at parties ….
you left off the question mark and make sure yuo check your spelling or you will get a detention!
Yes but on a positive note I can spell,,sack the fat man
that made me smile….:)
If you look at DS’ comments about Gorkss in full, the encouraging thing is that he seems to recognise that completely different types of player are needed in the PL compared to the CH. This might be blindingly obvious but something that seemed to escape MM (i.e. he clung on to most of his CH squad) and SS (i.e. he clung to the view that he could get a CH squad playing PL style football and be successful in the CH). I hope he sticks with this view and gets a chance to bring in the 2 further loan signings he has indicated he wants. I say we will all be able to make a better assessment of DS at the end of this season. As I’ve posted previously, keeping this team up this year will be job done and anything more than that is purely a bonus. Undertake major surgery in the Summer and clear out the majority of the CH winning players of 4 years ago as they are clearly a spent force. Bring in some battle hardened CH players, a few of the club’s youngsters, one or two from recently promoted teams to the PL who aren’t quite good enough for the Prem and some of the best young talent we can find in League 1 and 2 and we might have the makings of a Promotion season. Then, when we do win Promotion, conduct surgery again by getting rid of about 10-12 of the squad to invest in 4-5 good solid experienced PL players. The one big lesson that Peace has demonstrated at WBA is you have to be absolutely ruthless and dispassionate in your assessment of footballers and managers and what is required to keep a team in the PL, there is no place for loyalty (e.g. keeping MM beyond the last day escape) or emotion based decisions (e.g. appointing TC in a period of blind panic).
And hope we get them in within the next week or two, in time to help us.
End of March is too late, we will be down by then without fresh blood.
Gorks??? Better than what we got?
How long ago was it that we were screaming for an up coming talent or tried and tested PL centre half (see Johnson or Dann). Now with plenty more money in the coffers we are all prepared to dip in and pay his wages!!
Sorry but I’m a lot cheesed of!
i agree…not saying he wont put in a shift but they must have really run through walls to spend all that money ! when he goes back ; then what ..another loanee?no ambition no ambition…been the same for years and is the reason why we are where we are.
“put in a shift” those words just conjure up a few good times.
following on from sutton’s reference to Saunders’ comments, here is that gem of a quote from the sanitised site:
[when asked if he was surprised Reading let him leave]
“I can see what their thinking is – they’ve gone up a league and they’re not having as many balls to defend in the box as they do in this league,” he said.
“It’s a different type of football and he’s good in the Premier League but he’s excellent at defending this type of football in the Championship. Gorkss is one of the best you’ve seen at winning the ball.
“All the players I named to the chairman are players who have done well in this league and we’ve got to get players who aren’t demotivated coming out of the Premier League thinking they’re too good to be in this league.
“Sometimes you’ve got to get players who know they’re good in this league, can do the basics and enjoy coming into training every day not thinking they’re better than they are.”
The last line speaks volumes…
Talking of “Staale’s players” leaving, it looks as if Pzesko will be the first to go if the quotes atrributed to DS in the E&S are true. Seems he will play anyone before Pzes and the same could be said about Siggy.
Stepps, what an arsehole he must be – we’ve all seen the potential in those two
Pzesko I can’t understand and I hope to see him in the squad against Derby – but Stale as well as Saunders seem to believe that Siggy needs more time to develop…
Just a gentle plea to all users on this site can you please stop using the phrase “Puts in a shift” or similar. You have to be realistic doing a shift trditionaly means 8 or 9 hours hard graft NOT 45 mins each way with a break at half time, plus a few hours training each week and when was the last time you saw anything like that amount of effort or commitment. One of the worst shifts I ever did was 1 mile deep and 4 miles out under the North Sea at a place called Eassington Colliery, that’s what I’m getting at it’ insulting to anyone who has ever grafted for a living.
Yeah, plus it reminds me of McDickwadhead every time I read it!
Take on board your well made point but the phrase is now usually used on here with irony and something of a running joke on MM who was particularly fond it.
According to the E&S this is what DS wants Sako to do, “Put in . . . . . . . . . . . . ”
Our one skilful player who can make something happen . . . . . . . . . . watch out for him being sold in the summer.
like i said earlier..and who would blame him?
I’ve just read on the E&S website that Stephen Hunt would be happy to sign a new contract at Wolves but knows he’ll have to earn it.
Remaining fit would be a good start.
He goes on to say that he’ll play anywhere, including left back.
An interesting comment which seems to add creedence to the idea that – AT LAST – the powers that be within the club are acknowledging the fact that we have a problem in that position.
good solid signing in gorkss…
But on a different note, WHY is Henry coming out saying in the Shropshire star that we re ”too good for the drop” and slagging off solbakken into the bargain by saying we d be ”3rd or 4th” if we d have had saunders at start of season…this is a disrespectful and unprofessional remark more in the vein of joey barton and just lets the players (i.e. the major culprits) off the hook…we all know him and much of the rest of the team didn’t/don’t have the skill to execute the solbakken style of football..
plus, do the club give him the green light to utter such rubbish to the press?!?!?!?
***CHANGE THE CAPTAINCY, he is obviously unable to command and inspire this bunch under 3 successive managers, give the armband to ebanks, o’hara or johnson and shake things up saunders…
Totally agree, totally moronic comment from Henry. If you go on the statistics, if we’d had Saunders from the start of the season we’d be rock bottom!
Agree 100% – better the guy just kept his mouth shut.
A couple of months ago he was saying how wonderful SS was and before that TC. Guys a toss*r.
I suspect bringing in 30yrs+ loan signings will do little except increase the flow of younger players forced out of the club. Its a classic ‘we are in the shit and dont know what to do about it’ sort of thing to do and fails most of the time.
Also suspect the deal was virtually done before Danny Batth’s ‘surprise’ performance on Saturday. Will be interesting to see who Saunders leaves out.
Don’t know if i’m getting a bit impatient, but i thought Deano would be looking at a big striker
sooner than later.UTW
If ‘patience of a saint’ has any meaning expect to see a lot of Wolves fans meeting the new Pope in the Vatican this summer. Not a big target man myself but 4-4-2 with Doyle and Blanks-Bake rutting…zzzzzz
crash team to wolves blog please nursey!! another wolves fan im afraid!!
Oh come on – Deano is trying to get SEB to sign another contract and KD is happy to stay for another two years. How lucky are we?
According to reports this morning, Wolves are planning a loan approach to League One side Crewe for 22 year old Guinea striker Mathias Pogba who DS worked with at Wrexham. Things are looking up ladies and gentleman!
Crewe, Wrexham???? He must be a bit tasty. We’ve gone from Fletcher to this. Why do we want him when we have Sig and Cassidy???????? Give them a run out ffs.
This is about the height of our ambition – its all being done on the CHEAP AGAIN. It is so bl**dy predictable. Sick and fed up with the spin we get in the E&S. We’re going nowhere under DS, JM and SM.
Oh yes, it get’s even better-we may be ready to turn to Lee Naylor to help out until the end of the season to give us some cover at left back! Apparently Danny Fox at Southampton doesn’t fit the bill (would probably cost too much money in wages) so, despite failing to win a deal having trained with Blues all pre season, failing to get anywhere near our first team despite training with us on and off for the last few months, and despite failing to attract any interest from any other clubs for the last year and however long that he’s been without a club, we could be ready to resort to drafting him into the squad because he’ll just about do as cover for our shit left back and will be prepared to sign for around £300 a week! Thanks Steve.
