September 29th 2012 was a good day to be a Wolves supporter.

A 1-0 home win over Sheffield Wednesday took us up to third in the league with the same points total as the team in top spot.
The victory was our fourth on the spin and everything in the world seemed good.
During a second half in which Wolves camped out in the Wednesday half, I remember thinking how lucky we were to have Ståle Solbakken as manager.
We were keeping the ball effectively, moving the opposition around and Dave Jones was looking forlorn in the visiting dugout. It almost felt symbolic – sorry Dave, we’ve moved on.
Funny then that we should arrive at Hillsborough little over three months later ready to roll our sleeves up for a relegation six pointer. Oh no, not funny actually, achingly depressing. That’s what I meant to say.
As for the Owls, they occupy the same position they did back in September, fourth from bottom. But they’ve improved of late, winning four of their six league matches including a notable 3-1 reverse against Hull last weekend.
More encouraging for Wolves is that they’ve lost eight home games already this season. Only Peterborough can boast more.
Wolves
It would appear that Dean Saunders already has what Ståle Solbakken didn’t in recent months – options.
O’Hara and Peszko are back in the mix, Sigurdarson may also be available and even Adam Hammill could feature after returning from Huddersfield.
Still, I sense we’ll see a similar selection to the Blackburn game. For a bit of fun though, here’s the team I’d send out:

Of course it won’t look anything like that, but to me, the above XI looks more robust, exciting and balanced than anything we’ve seen for months.
An injection of pace at the back, proper midfield protection and some forward thinking creative players who can actually use the ball. You may disagree.
Saunders has three different systems apparently, so it will be interesting to see if that trio of styles involve rotating the personnel.
Predictions
Whenever there’s a draw I know updating the PL table will be straightforward and that was certainly the case after the Blackburn game.
Only 11 people thought we’d share the points. 4 of those got the scoreline correct and double up. It’s a single for the other 7.
Well done to Burtylad, Morph, colin and Martin B for scooping the maximum.
Rumours are circulating that this game might be postponed. If it does overcome the weather, I’m hoping for a more solid performance.
Still, we lost to non-league the last time we ventured away from Molineux so it’s baby steps.
I’ll go for another draw – 1-1.
Up The Wolves.
Doncaster had a great away record with Deano while he was in charge-hopefully it rubs off on us
SW 1-2 WW
I carnt believe he’s let Griffiths go back to Hibs I thought he was giving every one a fresh start he’s scoring goals and then he’s looking a bringing in a striker when we have Doyle (doesn’t score enough) Eubanks, Cassidy, Siggi, Ward who is a better striker than he’ll ever be a defender and I personally would revert back to at this level. So we let Nouble go without giving him a ” fresh start ” as Dean put it then we send a striker back to Scotish Premier where he’s top scorer ok some of you might say its only Scotish Prem but it’s more or less the same level as the championship then we contemplate chucking, I mean spending £1millon quid on a player who only played 6 times this season not even started a game. It’s the defence we need to strengthening it has been for the last 3 seasons. And I’m sure I’ve missed a least 2 others strikers of that list. It’s all just another episode of the soap opera that is Wolves, not even m the most gifted of writers could make this up, unbelievable. 1.1
I predict a postponed fixture. Any points on offer for that?
Assuming not I’m gonna take your bait and go for the draw. 2 each.
Come on me babbies!
2-4 Wolves goals galore for me.
Ikeme
Zubar Johnson Berra Ward
Pszeko Henry Davis Hammill
Ebanks-Blake Sako
Should Foley play we will lose he has been our worse defender this season. COME ON ME BABBIES ENJOY THE GAME EVERYONE WHO WILL BE ATTENDING I AM AT A WEDDING SO GIVE THE LADS A SHOUT FOR ME!!!!! GET BEHIND YOUR GOOOOLDEN BOYS.
Another one of our old managers coming back and bringing some ex-players. Think we all know what that means for the result! Having said that this is the kind of side we should beat as long as the lads try a bit more than under SS. Start some kids Deano so we can have a look at them.
Well well well, it’s the big fixture for me as I sit here in my home away from home in sheffield.
Currently the Official Sheffield Wednesday twitter has stated the games definitely on. To be honest there’s not a whole lot of snow here yet, tiny by yorkshire standards, but there is more forecast later and a couple of years ago we had drifts as deep as my knees… so we’ll just have to keep an eye on it. (Unfortunately my tickets are still down in the midlands with my dad and might not be able to get here!
)
As for wednesday. I’ve watched them play twice this season thanks to cheap tickets from our students union (cheap due to the presence of a huge monolith of a pilar blocking out most of the goal which we all have to lean around). They weren’t an impressive outfit by any degree and at the blackpool game Tom Ince ran absolute circles around their defence. Hopefully some of our boys can do the same. Wednesday have shown they can pull out a performance lately though so we can’t discount them.
Fingers crossed that it’s on and my family can get out of the midlands. Been waiting for this one for a good long while.
Since I’m currently knee deep in my 7th lot of exams in 4 years I’d really appreciate a win from the boys to cheer me up here. I’d definitely play your team Thomas, 4-5-1 away from home seems like a good system, especially with O’Hara looking like his old creative self.
Let’s say an optimistic 2-0 to the boys in gold and black.
7th lot of exams in 4 years eh!?
What are you training to become – a solicitor or a surgeon?
I hope your tickets arrive safely and you get to see a good performance from the lads.
But if the snow gets anything like it is in Wiltshire it’s going to be very doubtful that the game goes on.
Engineer
Here’s hoping! More importantly I hope the family arrive along with the tickets too!
BBC Weather currently reckons light snow here in sheffield from 3pm today until… tuesday!?
braver man than me..id be so crap if i had to sit exams again.and was crap then as well . reckon it will be called off me thinks. give anything to do with the fa a wide berth lads..anyone that completely ignores the GREAT BILLY WRIGHT can do one bunch of knobs wolves win 3-1
Surprised you’ve not had more snow in Sheffield, been snowed in at Norfolk Park on more than one occasion when I was at SHU. Wolves will spoil a good record at Hillsborough if they don’t win today so here’s hoping they don’t let you down.
Never mind the match being postponed, how am I going to get to Gatwick for my flight to sunny Egypt??
Seriously though Thomas, I like the look of the team you’ve selected with the exception of Doyle up front on his own.
I just don’t see him scoring. And Sheffield Wednesday should be a team we look to attack.
We’ve got to be aiming for three points against sides like them.
I think it’s going to be off but I will say 2-1 to the lads if it goes ahead.
As I am (hopefully) going to be away next weekend, can I predict the Blackpool result too?
If we can field our strongest side we should be too good for them.
Here you are then:-
Sheffield Wed 1 – 2 Wolves
Wolves 2 – 0 Blackpool
UTW!!
I predict a Wolves team brimming with confidence…….1-5 come on me babies
I’m going to be positive and say we’re due some good luck and a performance. I say performance…I mean win. It could be as ugly as sin for all I care. There won’t be much in it though, so I’ll go for a 1-0 win.
1-0 to the Wolves for me too, I like Thomas line-up except keep Berra as centre back swap Foley for Zubar.
Come on me babies
I am predicting 10 inches but if the game goes ahead 2-2. I like the team Thomas why we have stuck so grimly to the same formation for the last 18 months god only knows.( just heard Adkins sacked ??).
2-2
Just read that Adam Hammill is back in contention. Apparently he scored in our “behind closed doors” game against Walsall.
What do people think?
Criminal Charges aside…
I read the the comments from DS, but to me he seemed to infer what previous managers have i.e. has talent but doubt he fits in with the ethos of the team.
I’d be surprised if he played a significant role. I’d like to see him used an impact substitute. He’s the sort of player who can come on and change a game, as we saw for Huddersfield last weekend.
It has always been puzzling for me how a player who looks very talented, could never hold down a first team spot at wolves or huddersfield. Clearly that must be the case. Not a player who easily gels in a team/has the wrong attitude.
I thought for a moment that you were going to say the ethos of the club. But I guess there’s more ethics in Essex than in the upper echelons of WWFC.
I would hope that there’s still some common sense that says ‘get rid’ – if not what next? Joey Barton on loan……
I think that if there was the slightest chance that Hammill could turn into a ‘model pro’ I would give him that chance because I reckon he has the sort of talent that most of the present squad would die for.
But I wouldn’t stake my mortgage on it happening.
Have we just remembered the bits we wanted to whilst he’s been away? I have said previously I’d like to see him play as he would add something else to the team.
However, when I think back, I actually remember a player who flitted in and out of games, couldn’t beat a man but had a decent final ball.
I’m not saying he wouldn’t do well, I’m just wondering if it’s an absence makes the heart grow fonder scenario!!
I agree with you that he’s never really shown his true potential at Wolves, but that youtube film of him at Doncaster showed massive talent.
Interesting team Thomas. Wardo is carved in stone and totally immovable – just like on the field of play. What about Siggy for Doyle so we can suck them in, soak up pressure and hit them on the break. A decisive ball from O’H and goodnight from Siggy with his pace. A free role for Sako so he’s difficult to pick up.
Haven’t got one right in ages – always predicting wins so going for Sheff 1 Wolves 2 and hope my luck changes.
Instead of buying a striker wolves should buy a star left winger and use Sako as a striker $=) the worst prospect of not getting promoted: losing Sako to a premier league club.
Just red DS comments on Website. He really makes it very clear what he want and what he expects from the players. He has no prejudiced views , and after speaking to each player individually it must be clear to them what they need to consider in the future. If it is at Wolves or elsewhere, DS will make their minds up for them if they think its an easy ride. I like the frankness and honesty of our new manager.
Sneaky feeling we’ll get a result here. Hopefully some positives from last weeks game will continue into this one.
Weds 0-2 Wolves
Usually do well at Wednesday but still no draw away from home so we are due one.
Sheff Wed 1 Wolves 1
I’ll go for eking out another 1-0 win…UTW!!
The opposition have improved in recent weeks, no surprise there then! 1 – 1
A bit of snow?
You bunch of wimps.
We had ice on our windscreens yesterday, and it took TWO swishes of the wipers to clear it all!
I had to put on my long sleeved T shirt, and my dust covered, moth eaten slippers came out from the back of the closet, it was decidedly slightly chilly.
They reckon it could get down to 40 degrees today.
If all the football pansies turn out on the pitch, we should win, but I am not going to predict, except that Ward is still useless.
As I’ve said before let’s give Saunders a chance, dog knows we need something to cheer this season.
On a totally different subject, you will all be pleased and excited to know that MrsClivefromHouston and I have joined the 21st century and gotten ourselves Iphones.
Now if I can only find the on off button.
FOwb
Get the scarf out Clive!!
I agree Clive, bunch of wimps. We’ve had snow here since October. The snow piles by my drive are currently 6 feet high, we frequently get daytime highs as balmy as -30C tomorrow it will be -16C at its warmest. Guess what all the teachers still manage to get to school.
My 7yr old is only not allowed to play outside at school if the temperature is below -20C.
Bunch of pansies! Get an orange ball out and get on with it!
By the way Owls 0 – 3 Wolves
P.S. loved the wolf address sticker on the envelope Clive
FOWB!
Heres a team to consider -
Ikeme
Foley Johnson Batth Ward
Pesko Henry Sako
Ohara
Siggy Cassidy
Subs- DeVries, Davis, Doumbia, Doyle, Ebanks Blake, Berra, Doherty
A bit of experimentation with a 4 3 1 2 diamond thing going on, mixture of experience and bringing some through for a change.
and possibly a cameo appearance of someone running on from the Steve Bull at half time dodging all the coppers??? those were the days eh?
i’ll always remember the Man City fan who did that and threw his season ticket at their captain before being dragged off. Think we won 4-1. What a day out that was!
LOL you got me!!
Wouldnt get over the wall now!!!
Glad to hear that you and MrsCFH are finally emerging from the dark ages.
However, the present Mrs DG’er and myself prefer to speak directly to each other.
A phone can be so impersonal, can’t it.
When you can afford to laze around the house all day in your string vest and half smoked fag hanging out your mouth, empty pint pot on the arm of the chair, and MrsDOOGooder lying on the sofa, in her curlers, watching Crossroad re runs, then you have no need of phones.
However, when you have a high powered corporate jet setting lifestyle, like we dont, then you keep in touch with she who shall be obeyed via any means possible.
Keeping in touch means being available all day, to get my latest orders and list of household chores!!
Oh the joys of being self employed.
Have a great trip, if you can find your way to Gatters, and keep away from that sphinx!
My prediction – game postponed – “Slippy outside of Hillsborough”. World gone mad.
Think we will be fine tomorrow (unlike the weather!) I like the team youve listed Thomas, the only thing I would change is to have Siggi up front. Interestinly SD is quoted today as setting Doyle and SEB a 10 goal target between them from now until the end of the season…so expect you are right and we will see at least Doyle up front tomorrow!
Alright on the night…SWFC 0 – 2 WWFC
FOWB!
Agree totally with your team with one exception , Siggy in for Doyle . Hope lm wrong but just can’t see him scoring …he’ll drop the banjo before even aiming at the barn door . A bit of pace needed up front in a 451 ..so if Siggy is fully fit then a no brainer for me .
Wednesday 1 Wolves 3 .
I have doubts about this game going ahead, they won’t fancy it with us in this rich vain of form, : ) but if it’s on , 2 1 To Wolves.
Would love to see Thomas’s side (maybe Hammill for Peszko, though).
Assuming it goes ahead, I’ll plump for a wildly optimistic:
Wednesday 0-1 Wolves
Any score prediction will be dependent on team selection. It will never, ever happen but this would be my team assuming they are all fit to play minimum 60 mins:
Ikeme
Doherty Johnson Batth Ward
Peszko O’Hara Henry Sako
Cassidy Sigurdarson
I’ll go positive…
Sheff Wed 1-3 Wolves
A lot of people seem to rate Doherty on very little first team football. Or is it just because our current right-backs have been so poor?
I watched him play in the second half at Anfield last season and at home in the League Cup to City. Strong opposition I’ll grant you, but there were major concerns over his positional awareness. I got the impression he’s decent on the ball but questionable without it. Remind you of anyone?
I know what you’re saying, but I think it’s forgivable (for a while) in a young player.
I don’t think he could do any worse than Zubar and Foley this season and (whilst I think he’s actually done quite well when he’s played this season) I still don’t like Stearman at right back.
I wouldn’t expect him to come in and be the best right back in the league straightaway. I would just like to see him given a chance and, if there are any areas which need work, then he is young enough to be coached to fix it – let’s see the coaches earn their keep!
same as mine except for Foley / Doherty
Hillsborough seems to be a ground where we’ve seemed to pick up a result over recent visits, so I’m going…
Owls 0 – 2 Wolves
Really can’t agree with Zubar in place of Berra. He has been pretty solid this season, especially against the lower standard of Strikers. I agree that I wouldn’t want Hammill either, Peszko is far better. If the game goes ahead I’m confident we are a better side and fancy a 0- 2 result.
Berra has been solid enough individually, but the number of straight balls over the top where our defenders are left trailing in a foot race is embarrassing.
We had Blackburn penned in, but one hoof forward allowed Rhodes to run free. He didn’t score, but it got them up the pitch and changed the momentum of the half. Similar story against Forest.
Pace at the back is a commodity we’ve done without for far too long.
One of Johnson or Berra should be replaced and I’d prefer to keep Roger.
I wouldn’t disagree with you there but Zubar is too gaffe prone for me and Stears certainly isn’t the answer.
Definitely both valid points mate.
I still feel we’d be better off though, even with Zubar’s clangers. When you’ve got someone at the back who can run, it changes the whole dynamic of a game. Strikers don’t hang on the shoulder as much, they drop deeper and generally look for other ways in.
At the moment, I think the plan against us is too simple for opposition i.e. Get in down the gaps and they’re dead meat.
Well I am always up for a new idea, so get on the hotline to Deano and see if he’ll give it a try. One thing for certain it can’t make our back 4 any worse.
A draw.
Sheffield Wed. 2 Wolves 2
Have any of our johnny foreigner imports ever seen snow before, or know what its like to be bounced onto a bone hard frozen pitch?
If not, then they’m in for a rood wakenin’!!
On a completely different subject Clive .. where was the Tiger pub? I used to go there when I was younger and probably bumped into you during my youth although I was usually ammered when I left.
Starting at the man on the hoss in Queens Square, walk down towards Beatties, and when you get to that corner where Burtons Tailors used to be, turn right, towards the Civic Hall. I think its North Street.
The Tiger was a hole in the wall pub, only 2 rooms if memory serves, on the left.
We used to meet there and have a skinful before the games, most fun was when we had our EUFA Cup run.
I think there was a pool table, and there certainly was a good juke box.
There was little Pat Banks, Ada, who always wore the same horrible turquoise/blue suit, even to the second leg of the final at White Hart Lane, Big Mark, Nobby, Scooped from Ludlow, but he wasnt back then, and several others whose names escape me, if I ever knew them!
Happy days, when we had a bloody good team, nobody wearing gloves and undershirtthings or tights. When men were men and sheep were wary!!
When we could pronounce the names of the players and they all spoke English, well, almost all, we had some Scots and Irish!!
No diving in the box, you had to have a broken leg to come off, and the trainer only had a wet sponge to fix every injury.
And, we could hurl abuse at a certain Mr Jeff Astle and not be sued for racism!!
I remember the Astle chant very well!
Not politically correct today.
oh go on… for us young’uns please!
put asterisks in the naughty bits if it helps you sleep at night!
Clive .. thanks for that. Yes I used to frequent there along with a load of other places when was at the Polytechnic. The Pasada, Gifford and the Gondolier. Happy days eh.
1-0 Wednesday. Can’t see us winning away from home just yet, and Wednesdays performance against Hull was impressive.
Wednesday 1 – 2 Wolves
UTW!
Interesting team. I might put cassidy in place of Doyle, just for the hell of it. i just dont see Doyle scoring. Could be goals in that team.
2-1 Wolves.
The transfer activity is of course deafening again. Moxey you bought the buggars and told us they were good and ones for the future so now go sell em
http://mobile.uk.msn.com/device/news/Blog.aspx?cp-documentid=250577457
Worth a chuckle!
Ikeme
Zubar batth Johnson ward
Davis Henry
Hammill O’Hara Sako
Doyle
Got to throw hammill straight back in for me, hes offers up a bit of quality which we’ve lacked on the right for ages, means that only attacking threat won’t just be thru sako and with Ohara a bit of quality on the ball just begin Doyle. Good balance, good shape and makes us more solid thru the middle still with the players on the pitch to create something! Kick start the season tomorrow!! SW 1-2 WW
Wolves 2 Wednesday 0
I, too, am sat as a current resident of Sheffield and with Owls fans as friends, this should be an exciting game.
Regarding the weather, I can tell you that we’ve had very light snow over the past 24 hours or so but nothing seriously disruptive so I don’t see the match being postponed.
I feel cautiously optimistic about tomorrow. My friends weren’t pleased about the way Sako earned his goal in the September match (the free kick that had to be retaken), but a win is a win and I can see us winning tomorrow. 0-2 to Wolves for me.
Their home form is poor they leak goals.
Would love to see a Cassidy Siggy or Ohara Sako front line.
Is it my new Waggy, Doog, God (johnny R) front line? if only eh???
Answers for the new Bailey Daly Hibbitt midfield?
Anyway lets go for a Wolves win 2-1.
Soz all it was meant to be Daley or Mcalliog!
At least we have options at right back, even if they’re all shite as for, left back….
Are they all useless or is the system / style causing problems?? I mean 4 or 5. Defenders that can’t defend? You’d think one would be decent by the law of averages! 1-1 draw
I’m going for a 0-2 to the wolves.
TEAM
IKEME
ZUBAR
JOHNSON
BATTH
WARD,Because there’s no one else.
O’HARA
DAVIS
SAKO
HAMMIL
CASSIDY
SIGGY.UTW
Everything was fine that day against Sheffield, and then Mick got a job and the players saw an escape route open up.
It’s a big pitch at Hillsborough with acres of space on the wings. I expect plenty of running at defenders, lots of crosses and end to end football. This is ideal for a Dougan type player supported by a shorter, solid, aggressive goalscorer. Provided we stick with a 4-5-1 formation we can come out on top and win 2-1.
I can’t see us not conceding a goal whichever personnel are playing, but I can see us nicking a goal or two on the break, Sako is lightening fast and O’Hara has class written all over him. I am quite positive at the moment as I have always been a fan of DS, and now that he has been given his chance with WW he will grab it with both hands. It may take time for him to squeeze some funds out of Ebenezer but realistically he has to prove his worth with this squad first of all. As ever UTW..!!!!
Think we are going to have to call in Blaster Bates to unlock the safe.
Youngies won’t have a clue who I am talking about!
Sound team selection Thomas but for me it lacks a scoring edge, if we have still got one. Can’t see any wholesale changes although the return of the loans and crocks has added to the competition for places, which is always better than no compo at all. score Sheffield Wed 2 – 2 Wolves.
It’s a 1-1 draw for me.
Wolves 2 Wednesday 0
Is this the flipside? Certainly in the reverse fixture I recall our possession football working a treat. Well I guess there’s more than one way to skin a pussycat or even an owl.
Who will punch the air at the final whistle? Ex-manager or new manager?
Sheffield Steelers 0 Wolfrunners 1 Provincial towns you jog ’round …
Sheff Wed 1 Wolves 2
I like your team selection except I would like to see Bhatt instead of Zubar.
Going for:
Sheff Wed 0-2 Wolves.
Zubar shouldn’t be allowed on the pitch, let alone bloody centre back.
Rather depressing how he talked about O’Hara having to wait for his chance.. really One of the best players in the league and he has to wait for his chance? Bizarre.
I’d quite like a 4-5-1 but with Doyle up front it’s like having no one there at the moment. His whole game has gone, I’d go with Siggy/SEB and Cassidy.
After reading that o hara has to wait for his chance, and saunders likes davis and henry as it tightens us up in middle of park, and saunders has learnt to win away from home with doncaster, which means you play 5 in midfield, and saunders said he likes cassidy and dropping him after his debut, he will play doyle in centre midfield behind cassidy, and because of all this im going for a wolves win and the score will be sheff 0 wolves 1
Meant to say dropping cassidy after his debut would not be good
If we can avoid making defensive howlers, if we can create some decent opportunities, if we can convert a few chances and if we have a competent ref, I predict a 2-0 win for Wolves. If only it was that simple.
If is the biggest word in the English langwidge!!
I thought that was smiles?
Think I have Given up on Predictions after everything that has gone before this season.
But here it is anyway.
Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 Wolves
SW 3 WW 1
Don’t think our squad have enough about them at the moment.
SW 1 – Wolves 1.
Not good enough, but not a disaster
2=0 loss. The emperor has no clothes
I would expect DS to employ ‘safer’ tactics away from home. In that respect I expect to see a lone striker, possibly Cassidy but more than likely Doyle. O’Hara on the bench. So more likely this team
Ikime
Zubar – Johnson – Berra – Ward
Foley – Jónsson – Davis – Henry – Sako
Doyle
Jónsson being this weeks surprise inclusion. Though not rated very highly by the majority of Wolves fans Jónsson successful passing rate , in the few appearances for Wolves, were far superior than his fellow midfielders. On that alone I would consider giving him the chance.
As for the result, we have a good record at Hillsborough but the Owls are in good form recently (4 wins and a draw from their last 5 outings) so a draw would be a result for us.
So I am going for 1-1 with Doyle netting for the Wolves
Jonsson would be a surprise, but maybe ‘putting him in the shop window’ ? He may cope better than some with the icy weather !
Whatever the team I reckon it’ll be a good day for Wolves -as long as the match goes ahead.
Wow-a midfield 3 of Henry, Davis and Eggert Jonsson would possibly be the most negative team selection in the history of football, for any team, at any level, anywhere in the world! And with Foley on the right and Doyle up front on his own i think that could well be the most negative team selection in the history of football, for any team, at any level, anywhere in the world!
In fact, re my previous comment: I would go a step further and say that if DS set us up with such an unbelievably negative team I would sack him on the spot and pay whatever it takes to bring back Solbakken!
Heard pitch passed a 9 o’clock inspection and is set to go ahead.
I can’t see us doing much useful in this game. Don’t think we will go anywhere with Saunders at the helm.
I’ll go for
Owls 1 Wolves 1
I would start with the 11 that finished against Blackburn. Hopefully OHara and Ebanks-Blake ready now.
Feel positive so going for Owls 0 Wolves 2
UTW
Don’t expect goals galore from this game.
1-0 Wolves
It’s been decades since the Owls last took three points off Wolves at Hillsborough, let’s hope we can keep up this unbeaten run in steel city. Optimistically going for 2-1 to Wolves.
I think DS will have our limited set of players up for this one and we’ll go and win. Although he’ll inevitably try to tighten us up a bit I don’t think we’re capable of a clean sheet so I’ll go 2-1 Wolves.
Spent all week flued up so no idea who’s fit or playing. Just hoping for a win 2-1 wolves
Loads more fight and optimism (me not the team!) so, 2-1 win to the Wolves.
Think another 1-1 for this game. Hopefully confidence will start to creep back in soon.
Team is in,
WOLVES: Ikeme, Zubar, Johnson, Berra, Ward, Foley, Henry, Davis, Sako, Doyle, Ebanks-Blake. SUBS: De Vries, Stearman, Batth, Peszko, O’Hara, Cassidy, Sigurdarson.
No Jonsson Carl Wolves
Thank goodness for that! Still think the starting 11 could be stronger but at least we have options on the bench that we didn’t have a couple of weeks ago. Come on mi babbies!
I take it all back, looks like we’d have had more creativity playing Jonsson in midfield after all!
Well thats another 3 points lost then!
team selection a bit baffling why not psesko or o hara in midfield in place of foley, Foley is a right back if u aint gonna play him there don,t play him at all and why doyle again how many games without a goal r we gonna give him try siggy and blake for once can,t be any worse than our prescent record for goals
1st half-1 shot, 0 on target, 1 corner. Come on wolves
…I think stale deserves an apology and Deano needs divine intervention given today’s result and accompanying match stats. To paraphrase former US president Bill Clinton: ‘It’s the players stupid!”
well thats a point i suppose but it would have been nice to have a shot on target so still no better in the creative department than with stale. so much for us getting better our league position don,t look too good
Anyone out there who went to the match
Zubar at CB! I wouldn’t even let him in the ground. As for our weakness (and with everyone hammering on about the defence and the strikers ) it’s obvious to me that this is midfield. We can not boss a game, we can not breathe any quality or guile into a match, we are extremely poor. We need a revolution in midfield, a good old fashioned injection of new blood. Simples.
