Any questions for Jez?
As a Wolves Blog regular, I thought some of you may be interested to know I’m serving a two year term on the Wolves Fans Parliament starting this month. I’ve never done it before so maybe it will prove a complete waste of time but if any of you have any issues that you would like to raise with Jez Moxey & co then I’ve been told to submit an agenda for the first meeting by September 8th.
A few things spring to mind – I will certainly be looking for more clarity on the Stadium expansion plans because it would seem to me that we have had limited information on this thus far – especially given that, all being well, the North Bank will be knocked down as soon as May next year. How will all this affect capacity / season ticket holders / pricing going forward?
Again, if you guys have any other concerns that you would like me to raise then just let me know and I’ll try and get the points across.
UTW
Adam
My point is one I have raised before with other members of the Parliament
Why are we charged £1.50 booking fee per ticket when paying by credit or debit card ? I live 20 miles from Wolverhampton so usually telephone in for extra tickets but even when I drove in to buy tickets for my son and grandchildren they still want to charge the fee per ticket.Added to this the 0845 phone number is just another way to squeeze every penny from us
This offhand way we fans are treated is in my opinion disgraceful. I know Mr Moxey will say they are following other clubs lead but I feel it is a shoody and poor way to treat people who like to feel part of our club
Hi Adam,
Good luck with the mission!
Obviously, I could go on and on about the pies and piss queues in the SB upper but I’m resigned to the fact that it’s not gunna change anytime soon. So a couple of things I’d like to tuppence worth with.
The website. Any plans to make it half decent?
The liquidator. Come on…..let’s bring this one up again cus it hasn’t been mentioned for about 10 minutes.
All the best.
I still love the liquidator – where ever I hear it I still have to shout the words!
All my mates that support other teams loved it when they visited the Mol too (especially the Liverpool fans for some reason!)
Maybe you could ask him to explain the signing of Bent? It’s still beyond me!
I agree with both of them.
Website is awful. Just full of adverts.
1. Where does Jez get the grease for his hair? The Fish Inn on the Newhampton Road?
2. Does he ever intend for his hair to be combed forward like everybody else?
3. Can you ask him to stop putting away fans in the south bank.
I’ll think of some more.
I’ve got to agree mate.
I think the pressing issue here is does he look in the mirror everyday and say “hey, looking good Jez” when he has a hairstyle is surely against some Health and Safety law.
Its awful – even Brad Pitt couldn’t pull that off – never mind a fat dude.
Greasy Weasel, imagine being his hairdresser – having to deal with that.
The announcer over the “Tannoy” is dreadful. He’s too close to the microphone, too loud, speaks too fast and gives too much information which the brain just wants to reject. Give him some training or get someone who knows how to use a public address system on that scale.
When will Matt Murray’s testimonial be. Because I want to go to it.
And the website, jsut get someone to properly do it!
maybe they can double the normal price of the tickets for Matt Murray’s testimonial too – because he hasn’t had enough money off the club already!
Great keeper in our previous promotion winning season – but should have been released years ago and saved Wolves a load of cash!
Wel I think he deserves one.
He got us up on his own in 2003 and who knows maybe he could have when he got injured before the play offs in 2007.
Blogs would be boring if everyone had the same views!
He was an ace goal keeper all those years ago (probably the best I’ve seen in my time as a supporter – although I also liked Stowell)- I blame the fitness coaches and the club doctors, cant blame Murray for making hay!
Matt Murray = nice guy, top goalkeeper, unfortunately not able to cope with the rigours of professional football.
The club has stood by MM & done everything possible to help Matt recover and he has been paid handsomely and rewarded with a number of contracts (the financial value normal folk can only dream of) for a number of years.
In return I dont think MM has completed 100 appearances for the club. Not his fault but still a fact.
He shouldn’t need the money, he is not incapacitated and is able to work/provide for himself/his family doing other things.
This is why IMO a testimonial is not appropriate.
He can say his goodbyes on the pitch before or after a match with a full house.
I wish him all the best in whatever he does.
I say let him give the money to a charity, perhaps those like him with injury problems!
Maybe he can give the money to the physio team to work on Kites!
The big issue at Wolves is the cost of the proposed 3 new stands. How much will they cost? How much debt is projected to be taken on and when? Will the work be competitively tendered or just awarded to Redrow. What will be the budget for transfers during the construction period, based on Prem status and championship status? How much of the £30m originally invested per Sir Jack’s agreement, will be spent on the ground. As mere lifelong fans we of course will not be provided with answers to these questions. But I would appreciate it if you have a try.
Agreed. And what due dilligence has been done to conclude that we are able to fill a stadium of the proposed size and based on what pricing model.
Why is postage for items purchased from the online club shop so expensive? Not all loyal Wolves supporters live within a 20 mile radius of Wolverhampton and can afford to visit the club on a regular basis due to travel costs etc…
The standard £4, ’1 item’ delivery charge is a joke. For instance, if I wanted to buy a set of lovely Wolves Dart Flights (which I don’t, honest) which cost £1 to buy, would cost me 4 x it’s value just to post them to me. Even though they would probably cost less than a 1st class stamp & be sent in a small envelope.
Also, if I wanted to buy a replica home shirt. I would be charged £4 delivery. And if it didn’t fit, it would then cost me the going rate for Royal Mail Special Delivery to send it back to be exchanged for the correct size. (as recommended on the returns statement). However, I’m not sure if the club then charges an extra £4 to send the item again? If this is the case then the shirt could end up actually costing somewhere in the region of £50!
Most online retail outlets often waive all of these charges and offer free delivery. If we did the same I would be more inclined to purchase more often.
I actually just went onto the shop to buy some oven gloves (sad, I know!) and a mini kit for the car. Cost before postage= £13. Total cost including postage= £19.
Therefore, I immediately emptied my basket I thought I may well buy the goods on my next visit to Molineux. But I know, that once I arrive after a 4 hour journey and take a look at the packed club shop. I’ll decide against the idea of queing and carrying my goods around with me whilst trying to stuff my face with a double cheese burger & chips in one hand and a program in the other hand. Not to mention my bag getting covered in piss in the loos! Surely the club are loosing out on some potential sales?
I would like to know what will happen to my brick if the Steve Bull stand is going to be pulled down.It was a sentimental birthday present to me,and, although I’ve only ever seen it once, it means a lot to me
Maybe they will take them out in May and allow you to lob it at the Albion fans! Ha,ha,ha!
Dazza. I’ve seen your brick and I’m sorry to break it to you, but Colin Taylor chiselled ‘twat’ into it, so we might have to buy you a new one. Apologies mate
hahahaha….. did he also try and kick a ball at the wall and completely miss??
You could ask Jez if it is possible to set a Freephone helpline for all the distraught Kightly fans that have just read he’s not in the 25 man squad!
I know they did this kind of thing when Take That split up so I think the club should support this section of our supporters in their time of need!
Best thing for him really – give him plenty of time to get over the injury and then go out on loan to a Championship side to get match practice. Roll on Hunt being fit anyway.
Jarvis for England!
I knew you’d be straight on here Stourbridge full of it
I doubt we’ll ever see Kightly play for us again if i’m honest
As for Jarvo, there were rumours he was in the 30 man provisional squad
To be fair – I was sat here waiting for your reply Rich!!!
Lets hope Kightly doesn’t turn into another Matt Murray! But I agree with you that I doubt he will be able to make much of an impact this season, players that miss pre season never seem to play well.
I saw that about Jarvis – I’d love it if he was given a chance.
Regarding the club’s plans for the future development of molineux what season ticket and match day pricing model has been factored in? Will there be an early bird over the coming seasons, will prices continually increase due to the reduced capacity, what will happen to prices as capacity increases?
Why has the club taken the decision to reduce the allocations for Spurs after beating them twice last season, filling the higher alocation on every previous visit, the attractiveness of the fixture to London Wolves and those fans in near proximity to London.
Please do not accept answers such as we didnt fill the allocation for Everton as where I was sitting there were about 100 seats free and that was in holiday time and the weekend of the V festival!
Will the Club be reducing NUFC away allocation for future visits as the majority of the 1400 stood up all game as mentioned in the press release. Not that I agree it should but one rule for everyone should be expected.
It is also worthwhile praising the club for the stadium developments, the pitch upgrades, the commercial deals with Sporting Bet and Burrda.
Cmon mate, fans stand at away games, that’s just what happens. 1400 was low anyway, i’m surprised they didn’t fill out the Steve Bull
All South Bank STHs got a letter through the post before the NUFC game saying that they shouldnt stand up during the game for long periods as its against the law and could result in the stadium capacity being reduced. When challenged about the away supporters at Molineux persistently standing up, the club have said that they could sanction reduced ticket allocations for those club’s supporters not adhering to the rules.
Personally I think its ridiculous but if some government jobsworth is telling the club they will reduce the capacity of OUR ground and as a result STHs (like me) may be moved then I think the club has a duty to treat their own fans as a priority and reduce the number of tickets made available to those ‘gulity’ clubs first.
With regards to NUFC, they were offered the Steve Bull allocation of 2700, didnt think they could sell them and opted for the lower allocation of tickets in the South Bank. WWFC have a policy of no refunds on any unsold tickets for away clubs and NUFC were clearly concerned they might take a hit.
We have done the same for Spurs away.
STUDENT SEASON TICKETS
Why did they get rid of them?
Very good point. I would also be interested to know the answer to this
Because you can’t afford prawn sandwiches
Didn’t realise they ever did them, but given the number of students in Wolvo now it sounds like a good idea
Can you ask them why they insist on lying to us about things like player injuries.
Adam, like many others I’d like to know more about the cost-benefit analysis of the stadium plans. Whilst it is exciting, we are hardly established in the Premiership and cannot currently fill the ground for teams you’d consider to be in our mini league like Newcastle and Stoke. So how much additional revenue is the increase anticipated to generate -and how will the immediate expenditure impact on squad development funds?! The next obvious question is around ticket pricing which someone mentionned above – will Wolves loyal season ticket holders continue to be supported with early bird offers?
Thanks for all the suggestions lads, and especially to Thomas for putting this post up. Cheers mate. Will let you know how it goes.
No probs Adam.
Good luck mate
