While the lads are sunning it up in Marbella, I’ve been taking a moment to really soak in their achievements back in blustery old Blighty.
If you haven’t already, do take pause to consider how flipping marvellous our club is doing right now.

Yes, it would be lovely to kick in the door to the top six but realistically, this is as good as anyone might have hoped right?
Comfortably and deservedly 7th in the table, an actual chance of winning the FA Cup and the best football witnessed in 40 years – if not ever at Molineux.
It’s tough to do better but honestly, I don’t feel like we’ve yet hit the ceiling.
Newcastle
Suffice to say the garden hasn’t felt quite so rosy at St. James’ Park but the Geordies are in a better moment of late.
Back-to-back Premier League wins – including that fine victory over Man City – lifted them up to 15th and they were somewhat unlucky to go down late against Spurs last week.

Added to that they’ve finally broken their transfer record with the signing of Paraguay playmaker Miguel Almiron who could make his debut on Monday.
That said, they’re still just 2 points ahead of Cardiff in 18th and Rafa has repeatedly pointed out survival in itself would be an achievement.
Hard to disagree considering the setup there and the general mood of the place. I can’t see the Spaniard hanging around next year if it’s the same again with Ashley still in charge.

The away end
Some comments from the match thread on a popular Newcastle forum.
Would be happy with a point here, as long as we beat Huddersfield the game after.
Not many teams having much joy against these, but we were robbed when they came to our place. There’s points here, but a 1-1 draw seems a good bet.
Think Moutinhos been one of the best players in the prem so far.
Underappreciated shout for signing of the season imo. He’s always been class too, should have played for better teams when he had the chance
I think we’ll get a result. We were alright against them up here and would’ve probably beat them with 10 men if not for a bent ref. Away from home, with Almirón on the break in place of Atsu, we’ve got a very good chance. They’re very hit and miss at Molineux.
Man City were on a great run before we beat them so maybe we can the same against Wolves. I would be happy with a point. I always prefer playing teams on a run of good form than bad form as we usually give out of form teams wins.
Wolves
As I said post-Shrewsbury, it’s hard to imagine anyone did enough to force their way into the first team reckoning.

If everyone is fit the team picks itself and rightly so after three consecutive victories.
Saiss is the only one you might feel has had rough treatment, but if you’re going to build a really competitive Premier League squad, good players who’ve done little wrong will end up on the bench.
The poll
Predictions
Well done to Wolfstroker, shrewdsimon, Tipton Exile, theDOOGooder, jazzwolf54 & St.Kitts Wolves who all collected a maximum for predicting the 3-1 scoreline at Everton.
It’s still the familiar names at the top of the Prediction League table with vicsmith holding off the challengers.
As always if you want to join in simply leave your prediction in the comment section below using the boxes provided, which is where you’ll find my best guess for this one.
Up The Wolves!
The one thing you always get from a Rafa Benitez team is defensive organisation and I can see them being a tough nut to crack.
Palace came down to Molineux recently and won the day by shutting everything down and starving us of space.
We weren’t great at St. James’ Park either and were a tad lucky to win that one, even with the extra man.
But we’ve improved since both of those games and on current form, it’s perfectly reasonable to hope we’d see off a struggling Newcastle team on our own patch.
I have to agree with the team choice although it sounds like Jota is struggling for fitness. I’d probably go with Cav. if he doesn’t make it. Last time the boys went off for a bit of sun they came back rejuvenated so hopefully the same will happen on Monday. Another 3 points in the bag.
Merson is at it again predicting a 1-1 draw because of our poor home form against the likes of Watford, Huddersfield and Palace . What he fails to understand is that was then and this is now. We have bolstered our midfield with the introduction of Dendonker and we now have a front two who can scare the shit out of any defence . At least Lawro gets it . He’s predicting a Wolves win and so am I….
COYW
You beat me to it, Dodgo, with your comments about the midfield and front two although I’m not sure why you’ve given airtime to a failed Walsall manager but successful alcoholic. Why Sky employ the illiterate twat is beyond me.
Anyway Rafa’s caginess won’t work at Molineux as a deluge of late second half goals will submerge plucky little Newcastle.
The Donck, Raul, Diogo X2 , and Reuben
In before Clive!
We are on a roll at the moment and that extra additive of vitamin D this week should get us claiming all 3 points.
Bit wary of our small squad. We have had minimal injuries to date, so have we been lucky or fortunate? What do our backroom staff know that others don’t?
If we hang on to this 7th place it is highly likely we’ll be playing qualifying matches in Europe later this Summer; hence the need for some very good additions to the squad. Oh, what nice problems we have to put up with!!!
Wolves to just shade this one, how long since 4 top flight wins in a row?
I’ll go with you Dan, although I think it’ll be tricky to break through Benitez’s parked bus. Hope Diogo is fit otherwise I hope Cav is preferred to Costa.
COMBs!
I can see us struggling in this one. They will sit deep and look to frustrate us, a tactic we’re not great at overcoming.
I’m not going to predict a score, as the lads seem to do better when I don’t, but I will tell you my thoughts on how goals will come in this match: if they score it will be from a counter attack or more likely a set piece. Our goals will come from winning possession in their half thanks to our excellent pressing. And it’ll be a draw.
There’s 6 points coming from the Bournemouth and Huddersfield games though, so don’t worry too much about dropping 2 points here.
UTW.
Have not had a shave or a haircut since our last defeat and will not until we next lose, and I don’t think it will be Monday. I look as scruffy as hell but I don’t care. COYW.
THAT WAS A CLOSE SHAVE…!
As an aside, shame to see notlob receiving a winding-up order.
They should just get John McGinlay to punch someone in the face, that normally solves all their problems.
Karma’s a bitch, ain’t it?
Cannot disagree that it has been a great season to date .
Given the defensive set up we may need to settle for a point against the Magpies which I would be ok about .
Mind you given the tragic recent events with Sala I do hope our team coaches et al had the good sense not all to fly together .Where I worked no more than 5 senior people could be on the same flight .I fear football teams are too causal about this risk .They should be wiser .
I thought we were lucky away at Newcastle and they set up to be hard to beat…ordinarily I would predict a draw but I’ve been too negative of late so going for two late goals (Raul and Neves).
Its an obvious thing to say but isn’t it absolutely the best time to be a Wolves fan? I cant remember us ever being this good and I’ve been seeing us since the days of the old 4th Division. So much to be happy about in the way that we play the game.
I’m expecting a re run of the Burnley game….29 shots against obdurate defending but Doherty to finish Geordies off with a late winner
Hope Jota starts but if not agree with others that Cav is the best alternate(…wonder if Traore moves on this summer?)
A win will bring me another bottle of scotch from my mate Alan .pet
UTW
There was a really funny exchange of banter between Newcastle and Leeds fans a few years back. The Geordies taunted Leeds with ‘he’s one of your own he’s one of your own Jimmy Saville he’s one of your own’. Leeds replied with ‘he shagged Ant and Dec he shagged Ant and Dec Jimmy Saville he shagged Ant and Dec’. But enough of such juvenile banter. I remember that epic match when Rafa lost to Roger Federer in that epic final in the gathering gloom at Wimbledon. Amazing how much weight he has put on since and bizarre he ends up manager of Newcastle Utd football club. But hey, the board must have seen something in him. Right? So Monday it will be a lovely volley or two by Raul and The Donck and a smash in to the net. Rafa will explode and race up to the directors box and shout ‘ashley you are a fat bastard and unless you spend. 48 billion on players in the summer I will sulk and watch Byker Grove repeats in pre season instead of taking training.so put that in your pipe and smoke it’. WWFC 2 Geordies 0.
While Newcastle are well organized and defensive, I believe we can score a goal in the first 30 minutes. Once that happens they have to stretch to get level, and we will score two more once we take our chances! In the end, a comfortable win. Not giving up on Adama as yet even though he is a bit one-dimensional! A great substitute!
We all need to remember that he’s only 22 so there’s plenty of time for the coaching staff to work their magic as per Doherty, Coady etc. Much too soon to write him off. He was at Barca, after all, and they’re not known for signing up donkeys.
Onwards and upwards – a win and 41pts should put us safe -Only joking!
Hope Jota is fit otherwise Cav must start, with Traore to come on towards the end.
UTW.
Very good write up as always Thomas. I’m keeping the faith for another win from a refreshed Wolves team.
People who are saying that Benitez is a tactically shrewd sh*thouse-merchant are basically right. This is going to be tough.
I back us to win because we’re on good form, but it could easily go the way it did against Palace last month if we’re not careful. Fine margins in this sport.
We just need to move the ball around quickly and take our chances. I hope we make the most of our set pieces again!
The Newcastle fans on that forum sound like prize arses don’t they?
They line up very defensively and we have struggled against this all season but now we have Dendonker in midfield I feel we have too much for them. 2-0 Wolves
Having witnessed how we were tactically out thought in the Huddersfield, Watford and Palace games, I have been cautious in getting too bullish about our current form. As previously stated, Benitez is a cute strategist and will set up to wear us down and catch us on the counter. However, since we bolstered the midfield with Leander, the WBs have been given more freedom to attack and if Diogo is fit, I see a comfortable win. If unfit, it maybe a struggle to break them down. 2.0 to the Old Gold.
Yo, Stiltonburger, has your fave cat made it back next door from Goodison?
If he has, he really is a lucky black cat as they usually wind up on sarnies in scouseland.
Why are they called magpies?
Is the black and white strip, which makes them look like American throwball refs, or is it coz they steal stuff?
Either way, they haven’t stole much this season, same as the past 60 years.
This is a game we would historically lose, being on a good run of form, and playing a bunch of perennial losers.
But, this is Nuno’s Wolves, and now, we have a Donk.
( I would rather have Linda Kozlowski, but I digress )
We gonna cream ’em, so much so that aforementioned cat will rush down the Mol in hopes of some titbits( I remember that magazine)
We have scored an average of 3 goals per game over the last 5 fixtures, and I see no reason that will not continue.
Easy 5-1 victory, with Coady to get on the scoresheet.
Lovely result from sandwell the other night, with their biggest crowd of the season!
Thomas I think most of us have been reflecting, worrying if it’s been a dream, riding the crest of the wave and slowly, very slowly, learning to cope with this unknown success.
But this year is more than just the results/position in the league. It’s the culmination of everything in the now at our club….. I remember as Clive said yesterday that a lot of us were convinced that Costa would leave end of the first season, but we’re no longer a selling club… no longer a feeder for the Top Clubs, we (and I sincerely mean this) will be a top club within the next 5 years taking (at a fair price) from the feeders…..
This is a project that keeps giving and I really cannot think of one negative about our club at the minute.
Never in 40 years have I heard words around our club like – Engaged, Driven, Exciting, Cohesive, Together – If ever a club is listening to the will of the people it’s WWFC, the happiest I’ve been for a long time and just hope I can be around for years to come and see us competing again on the European Stage like our forefathers did when England first rode into Europe back in the fifties – The Pack is Back
Newcastle away was not really our best performance but we certainly didn’t deserve to loose either… but to win any game in 90 + minutes is just the best feeling for an away game. Had a great night out on the tune and no shite from the Toon fans and mainly compliments on how we play.
I also agree with the settled side and The Donk adding extra calmness and distribution I can’t see them scoring many, but with current average I go for a repeat of Goodison less Chessie’s Cat
PS – Stu, has the Just Giving page for a Dendonker song got to £1,000 yet???
I think we’ll put Newcastle back in their box on Monday, another chance to cement that 7th spot and to add to our confidence in our FA Cup effort.
Still have to rub my eyes when I look at the league and what we’re doing, dreamland!!!
Val Hever – ditto!
Newcastle come to the Mol looking for revenge for our late victory at their place. They’re on a run of form, well, for them anyway, and will probably give their new record signing his first outing in stripes. So, a tough game in prospect and I’m sure their players and fans will turn up hoping for at least a point. With Senor Benitez in charge, they’ll probably play for a point too, looking to pinch a late winner.
But we’re no slouches in the late winner stakes either, and with the Donk now fully fledged in the team, I feel we’ll have the cutting edge we so direly lacked in the early months of the season.
As ever, an early goal would be lovely and would give us the space to work as the game wore on. But we must maintain defensive solidity, as they have a certain centre forward who has done for us before and can never be underestimated.
As pretty much everyone has said Benitez will have them set up not to lose. Hopefully we’ll keep playing our game and the goals will come. If we become too frustrated and try too hard there is the danger we’ll give away a soft goal or get caught out from a set piece, which happens too often.
Having said that I do expect a win, comfortably if we score an early goal. 2-0.
A few weeks back after the Newcastle away game, I wrote about what my mate quite rightly described as our” Jimmy hole”.
We started off sloly at Newcastle and true to form Benny set his team up to stifle us, at half time I was chewing Jen de Wolf’s nails as mine were already shot. I could see a great feckin gap in front of Neves and Moutinho and Newcastle were dominating it.
Enter el Nunoio, he brings Jimmy off the bench and whack in one movement the hole was filled.
So successful was that, he started playing Jinmy regularly in there and then at Christmas he slotted “The Donk” in there, making a triangle of midfielders that to be honest, teams are struggling to deal with. Teams that were shutting down Neves and Moutinho as soon as they had the ball, now have three to deal with, teams that park the bus are faced by three midfieldes/three attackers, it’s brilliant pure magic to see.
So with the Donk tearing them a new one, Jota/Cav feeding off the three man midfield and crosses from the two wing backs, life is feckin good and Benny will pull his waiters coat over his head in sheer admiration and frustration in equal measures.

Ok then, let’s tackle this head on…
Tammy Abrahams or Leander Dendonker.
Tammy Abrahams or Leander Dendonker.
Decisions, Decisions..?????
Oh it just gets better and better. Even Sheffield united fans are singing MIND THE GAP. All the years we had the piss took out of us and look how the tide has turned. Brilliant.
They sang it much too soon unfortunately.
Newcastle are a bit shit and wolves are really good
Oh bugger.spoke to soon. Point not much good to them tho.
Tough game against a tough, well organised defence. We’re a much better attacking unit these days, courtesy of Jimenez and Jota, so in summary I’m going for a score draw.
I’m predicting 9 points over the next three matches; not giving up on top 6 …..
We’re gonna thump ’em. Well maybe not, but I’m doomed to mid table prediction league obscurity, so I may as well dream.
It’s going to be a long weekend, hopefully worth the wait when the Magpies see the sun tanned Wolves they will panic thinking were Barca’.
Then were off to Bristol Tity and if that’s as half as good as our visit last season, it could be a classic FA Cup tie.
See you Bloggers on Monday and Sunday, sup up! Come on you Mighty Wolves
With the FA Cup in our thoughts I’m going for the same result as in the third round replay in 1960 – we’d drawn 2-2 away and won the replay 4-2. I seem to remember that the pitch was snow-covered, but I could be wrong about that.
I do feel for the NU fans who must be absolutely brassed off with the change to Monday – Sky really look after the travelling fans don’t they !!!!
COYW
I think this is going to be tougher than it looks on paper. We seem to struggle against defensive minded teams (Shrews). Fully agree with the team selection above and with Cav on if Jota not available. Hopefully we would be a couple of goals up by the time we introduce any subs. A narrow win for me.
I feel we have moved up a gear since we played them last. I just can’t get that image of Raul standing on the advertising screen things in front of the south bank. This is the stuff of legend. Newcastle know just how unstoppable Wolves legends are.
Tough to call this one, they will be on a high after City result so going for a draw 1 – 1
Our soft midfield underbelly from earlier this season was made for teams like Newcastle. The introduction of Dendonker has put paid to that. I can’t see past 2-0 Cav will do just fine if needed
Newcastle may have signed a new player but it wont make much difference .
We have moved on almost out of sight compared to when we last played them and they haven’t gone anywhere .
One new signing isn’t going to suddenly turn them into world beaters he is just there to try and stop them getting relegated.
No goals first half and two in the second after nuno has worked them out.
Still in shock from predicting correct score last week. 1st time this season.
As for Thomas and his reflections I could not agree more this is the best team and football being played at the Mol since I started going down in 1953.
We certainly came up trumps with the new owners they could not have done a better job and I am sure they will only go on to improve.
The decision to bring Dendoncker into midfield is a Nuno master strike. Neves is playing like Neves of last season again.
As for the Toon they will come to defend and frustrate it is the only way the Spanish Waiter knows how to play this game. I know they have Rondon and the new guy but doubt if they will be on the park together. No thug Shelvey so we should have more than enough for them.
Going for the same score as last week, you never know I might get on a role.
Well if I am going to move up the prediction league it will be;
would love another win but I’d take a point, we were lucky at theirs
an ambition for us this season would be that no team gets six points off us
so points against
Huddersfield, Watford, Cardiff , Brighton , and Liverpool
COYW
Still basking in my success from last week’s prediction.
How about:-
“Lee-An-der Dendoncker!”
As in “Hi Ho Wolverhampton!”
Simple and straight to the point.
Just like my pre-match prediction.
…and me.
I think we can scrap a win here.
Another tight game but but we’ll just edge it.
Danny Batth captain of Stoke against the Boggies…..come on Danny do it for us!!
Wolves 3
Newcastle 0
COMBambinos.
After this rampaging run I think we’ll revert back to our form at the beginning of the season. Defensively sound with enough up top to squeak out some victories. 2-0 Jimenez and Jonny nets his first for us
Jonny scored against Southampton
Should be an entertaining game with a few goals.
Going for a draw.
Looking at the table it is very clear that there are three “mini leagues” in the Premiership.
The first is the top six – how does anyone break into this group? In the future the most likely is Wolves. Can they change the top six to the top seven? I can’t see anyone else doing it – but the Leicester experience says that anything is possible.
Then there is the next six – with Wolves in the lead and Leicester at the back of the pack.
Then the guys fighting to avoid relegation – Crystal Palace to Southampton with only three points between them and Fulham and Huddersfield doomed.
Newcastle sit in this latter group. If we can’t beat them when playing at home then any aspirations that we have to turn the top six into the top seven are premature.
My thinking is that we are close to joining the top group – and will probably achieve that next year.
I’m going for a 3-1 win – although I think it could take a while before we establish ourselves. If we score first and create a need for Newcastle to be more ambitious then they will be opened up for more goals for us. Hence 1-0, followed by 2-0, then 2-1 and finally 3-1 to the lads.
Would be great to see on TV?
Enjoy!
Apparently Bolton are being wound up. Excuse me whilst I shed a tear. Bye bye. And take the fat twat Mcginlay with you. What goes around comes around.
I agree wholeheartedly, Stilton.
Sad for their fans, especially that young girl who did two fabulous vlogs last year when they played us, but when a club, or any business, is badly or mismanaged, then tits up they go.
Law of the jungle.
No one outside of the pack would have shed any tears all those years ago when we came so close to being in the same position.
Just wish it was sandwell, leeds and millwall.
FOwb
I suppose you shouldn’t wish I’ll of an opponent but believe me I have been to Burden Park and the new shit hole loads of times and there is no love lost. I ay gonna lose no sleep over it.
Ok latest round of games. Southampton 3rd bottom PPG points to 36 max so as it stands 37 is enough to stay up. I see the gap to sixth spot is now 12 points.
I know some of you lot are still hoping for a sixth place finish.Me too. That is a big gap. Will have a look after Monday night and see what is required. FWAW.
Went there in 1991 we won 2-1. Crowd ? 53000? 43000?33000? 23000? no it was 21000 and 2000 Wolves. No bullshit.
Whether the arrival of Dendonker in our midfield was by accident or design, his box to box running and energy have given a whole new dimension to our play, and has freed up space for our Portuguese magicians to strut their stuff..
Our opposition on Monday did not see this when playing at home, so I am reasonably confident we will still have too much for Benitez team, even if they parade their record signing. This was just a ploy for season ticket renewal dates, so be interesting to see an American player over here, instead of the old pros going over to the MSL for the last few seasons of big money to finish their careers. Still think we can score 3 goals or more, probably will let at least one in through Rondon, but can§t see anything else but a home win.
Newcastle fans always seem to be whinging. Wish Ashley would sell just to shut them up. Seems they think they have a divine right to be up there with the big boys. Wonder how they would have felt going through the period from the Bhattis to Morgan?
We’re capable of picking up three points and any positive score will do.
Already ensconced in the Novotel, waiting for the boys to come back from Marbella. I’m not a saddo, honest!
Looking forward to a few drinks with friends in Chapel Ash tonight and a few more tomorrow lunchtime…..and later prematch.
As for the game, I’m going for a routine win.
Your liver must be taking a right hammering Dougie……better stay on the soft drinks. Hope to see you around tomorrow!!!
Nah! I can’t do it anymore.
I’m off to the Clarendon for a quiet night catching up with some old college friends. I’m told the Wolves bus is imminent but I can’t hang around.
Are you in the Combermere prematch tomorrow?
Not tomorrow but will catch up soon .
Cheers Pal
I will be in Combemere post match Dougie. Am meeting Stu at Billy Wright statue at 7pm too.
Wolves have a great record against Newcastle remember when Kenny Hibbitt banged in 4 brilliant, going to be tougher than we think.
I think tomorrow will be a tough game but if we can get a win I’ve got a funny feeling we might just start putting some pressure on 5th and 6th place. I don’t think either Chelsea or arsenal are in great shape and we’ve still got to play both of them. COYW.
After beating teams around and looking the real deal we now have a run of games against the type of teams we have struggled to beat this season. Rafa will have Newcastle set up to stifle us and nick something. Hopefully Jota has recovered from his slight knock. I don’t think we will lose then its onto Bristol for the Cup.
I would love to play Chelsea right now!!
We played Chelski when they were good and they still got beat Clive.
They’re an unpredictable beast, but I fancy our chances of doing the double over them. I’m particularly looking forward to the visit of Arsenal to God’s Golden Acre, I reckon we’ll tonk them. Very unsporting of Utd to ditch Mourinho before their trip to the Mol, but we’ll see how well blind optimism does against the best-drilled team in the league.
Seems as though 4 consecutive wins in the PL will become a record if we can pull off another slaughter tomorrow night.
Well after putting Leicester, West Ham and Everton to the sword I can’t see much that Newcastle can throw in our way …. barring parking the bus.
And if that happens then it just goes to show how far we’ve advanced and how far The Geordies have regressed…..
Much prefer Fosun to be our benefactors as opposed to Mr Ashley ….. as do most of Tyneside and their despise of him.
That Spanish sun will have worked wonders……
Think that it will be tight, but we just do enough to gain the 3 points
Really looking forward to tonight and pretty confident.
Marbella would have done the lads the world of good and you just feel they’re on cloud 9 at the moment – we’re on a heck of a run (W 7 D1 L3) since that sticky patch before Chelsea. That sort of form is unheard of in the PL outside the top 6, especially for newly promoted sides.
Looks like Jota is fit thankfully. If for some reason he isn’t then I’d go for Cav in the second forward role. Cav is the only one with the composure and tactical awareness to fill in for Jota in that position. Feel Nuno would plump for Adama though.
UTW!
I agree that Newcastle will be well organised, and they will sit deep and look to frustrate us, a tactic we’re not great at overcoming. I can see us struggling in this one, However I think we will be too strong for them and we will wear them down and come out on top. 2 – 0 to the boys in Old Gold and Black!
This is definitely a winnable game, but think they will be well organised, and stifle the game, looking to counter us. That said, we have enough quality to overcome them. Going for a narrow win, just hope the lads have packed their buckets and spades away!
I think they will be happy to take a point, I see them being very organised and very difficult to break down, how ever I see us with another victory. I think we will be 9 points behind Chelsea if we win and the way they are falling apart anything is possible. 1-0 wolves moutiniho with a stunner ??
Going for a score draw tonight, no reason y just think that will be the score, Newcastle will half Park the bus, defence organised.
Newcastle will be quaking at the thought of Jota playing. The match at their place was a catalyst for Jota’s glorious return to his best form. Until then he struggled to reproduce his Championship form. At the opening match with Everton he looked a shadow of the player who scored 17 goals last season. No longer…
I think Newcastle will forget about going head to head with us and instead try and copy the teams that have frustrated us at home. Park the bus and try and nick something.
My BetVictor bets are 5/6 on for a win and 16/5 for a win with BTTS. I’m going for 3-1.
I’ve got a drinking friend in our local who is a Newcastle supporter.
Says he’ll never talk to me again if we win tonight.
Think I’ll be losing a friend.
Up the Wolves
At least you won’t have to listen to him moan about how Boly should’ve been sent off anymore.
We’ve been on top form of late and this is a great chance to win four on the bounce. Scoring first will be key. Raul on the scoresheet again for me
Few days in the sun did the trick last year so I expect the same again. My standard prediction is working for the team (tho not for me with full points) so I’ll stick to that!
COYW
I expect the winning run to continue and we will set a new record for consecutive premier league wins.
Hopefully Jota will be back to torment a shaky Toon defence.
Y, i pet……..I can…… nay believe it……..What’s your…….Y…. Y
That’s all the Gerodie i know pet.
I’ll be in toon tonight to watch the howay the lads crying into there Brown Ale….!
I think it’s become clear that our best 11 and our best formation is that which started the game against Everton. Since Nuno’s “tweaking” everything has clicked into place and we’re running like a well oiled machine. Are we good enough to take on teams who just want to stifle us? Newcastle will give us a good test. Defeating Man City and putting in a good performance against Spurs will have given them confidence and we shouldn’t underestimate them as they could cause us a few problems.
However, we are now so accomplished in all areas of our play that I think whatever tactics any our opponents employ we are capable of overcoming them.
I hope the same team starts, as per last League game, so hoping Neves & Jota are fit.
Newcastle will be hard to breakdown, but we managed to do it at St. James’s so no reason why not tonight too. Maybe patience will be needed.
Of the Cup team, only Traore and Cavaleiro showed anything like first team form so I hope they both get game time tonight too, at some point.
We’re annoyed because our 3-1 forecast for last match didn’t get on the blog. We put it in at 2:50, must have missed a cut-off time or sumat.
Anyway, same again from us 3-1, no pens, no sending-offs, no own goals, no cats on the pitch, Cav to score, Benitez to go nuts again. (Got to get something right from that lot!)
Bonkers ay we
COYW. Chelsea is now within our sight.
A bit late for this one, so us to win. They’ve been on bit of a run, but so have we…
A tight game I reckon.
Got to keep it going playing our best team in all comps. Nuno we trust.

Just about to walk to the ground, COMB’s! They will look to keep it tight but we can do it.
Just been pointed out to me that my prediction is 2-2. It was meant to be 2-1 to us!!!
Thomas if this can be changed great, if not don’t worry. I’m doing naff on the table anyway!!
Going for a Toon win only because I need the points, nothing would please me more if I get it wrong.
Another goal in Nuno time!
I wonder how many fans missed it.
Not me, Mark. It was sheer relief at the end. Almost felt like a win.
